CLASS DESCRIPTION:
There are twenty-three students in this group, all between ten and eleven years old.
They have English classes twice a week, each class lasts forty minutes. This group of
students work at its pace, which is rather slowly. Their proficiency level is A1.
SKILLS TO BE EMPHASIZED: Listening, speaking, reading and writing.
LANGUAGE:
- Vocabulary sports
- Present Simple: Where is she from? She is from China.
AIMS:
By the end of this class, students will be able to understand a short story and complete
activities according to the story. They will learn new vocabulary related to sports and
they will become conscious of the fact that we must respect one another despite of
our individual differences. They will know the importance of cultivating and practicing
values inside the classroom and outside the classroom.
MATERIALS:
- whiteboard
- markers
- projector
- video
- photocopies
Anticipated problems: Some students could have problems in the understanding of
some words or sentences in the story.
Possible solutions: We will provide them the necessary help in order to overcome that
problem using visual aids, gestures and making a wise use of L1 and L2.
