2. Existing Product
This magazine cover is quite similar to my product. I like
the effect that they used to make a blurred background
and the use of different colours make the magazine
interesting. The blurred background make the main image
and the content stand out making the audience draws
their attention to read the cover lines to know what is
inside the magazine. In the masthead is important to have
the name of the magazine which makes the audience
know straight away the magazine’s company. The colours
matches perfectly with the background and the orange
make it different which gives the magazine a good
contrast. I really liked the way that the model’s clothes
match with the background, I might use this match with
the background, I might use this existing product as an idea for my product. In the image
you can see a natural light on the top of the model’s image. In this you can actually know
that the image was took outside in a sunny day. In my product, I will be taking pictures
inside and outside which I think would be interesting for my audience. The audience
might be interested in buy this magazine to know about the actress Dakota Johnson
which is very famous.
3. Existing Product
In this magazine the colours are simple which make the
magazine interesting for the viewer. The dark colour in the
background helps the main image stand out differently
from the majority in magazine industry. I think the colours
match perfectly bringing the audience to focus on the
masthead and in the image. In the photograph you can
clearly see that the image was edited because of the
colour contrast, they might changed a bit to make it stand
out. I think this magazine cover is quite engaging and the
audience might have interest in buying the magazine to
know what is inside and also they might find the magazine
cover entertaining and interesting because of the colours.
I really liked the font that they used in this magazine because it makes the audience
know easily which company that magazine is from, even if the name is behind the
model which I will be also using this idea. It gives the magazine a good appearance and
it looks like that the image is in 3D which make the magazine eye catching and
interesting for the audience. This might affect the audience making them buy the
magazine.
4. Existing Product
Again, the masthead is in the back, this gives the
magazine a good appearance which in my opinion helps
the masthead easily to be recognized. In this magazine
they also used different colours, the pink helps the text
highlights from the background. This make the audience
draws their attention to see this different colour. I think
this helps the magazine cover to look more interesting.
In the background has a different light in a colour that is
not too different from the background colour. I have
chosen this magazine cover because of the colours in the
background and also the cover lines colours. I really like
the way that they have positioned the texts covering the
spaces in the page with the content that is in the magazine. They also used this font
that have a good design and fit perfectly with the company. This font makes the
audience easily know the company even if the masthead is behind the model. They
changed the colour and the size in the model’s name so that the audience be certain
who is she.
5. Existing Product
In this double page spread they used a
picture of the model in the side of the page
and wrote the article in the another page
which I think is really organized because in
some double page spreads has loads of
information which sometimes makes it
difficult to read. In this case, the reader can
see clearly all the information given in the
page. I really like the font that they used in
the article title which is helping the
audience to read the magazine to know
what the article is about. I like the page
layout and how the texts are equally positioned, it makes the page interesting. The
audience might be interested in buy this magazine to know the subject of the article
and what make this model a super woman. The photography black and white colours
matches well with the article which I think is making the page more attractive and
appealing for the audience. I have chose this magazine double spread because of the
layout which I think will be similar to one of my pages. I also might use the same
colours to try make it different from the rest of the pages.

many people of both sexes. Seeing a ‘perfect’ body in
social media make some people feel uncomfortable
with their bodies bringing problems, for example,
eating disorders and mental health disorders like
depression.
23. Practical Research
• Using Image Adjustments I was
able to experiment how to edit a
image to make it bright or darker
which I didn’t have much previous
experiences. Firstly, I used
researched different methods to
edit an image without take the
image’s quality. Then, I changed
the levels a bit to make the
image’s background a bit darker.
This already make the image
different from the original. Then I
changed the curves which gave
the image a different contrast.
24. Practical Research
• Then I changed the colour balance
of the image to give the image a
different colour. To experiment the
names that I asked my audience I
used one of the options in this
experiment just to have an idea of
how my product could look like.
For that I used a regular font
named Calisto MT. To bring the
model above the text I used quick
select tool and selected it as a
layer via copy. In my final product,
I will be using image adjustments
to edit the images that I will take
for my product; this will give the
image a good appearance and.
25. Practical Research
• In this experiment, I used the same
image that was in the tutorial video.
In the beginning I used curves to
make the image darker. To make
this possible I increased and
decrease some colours in the canals
like red, RGB, green and blue. This
makes the image seems that it was
taken at night which helps to start
lighting in the flower. I might use
some of the effects that I
have used in this
experiment. Doing this
experiment I could learn
different skills to edit my
images.
26. Practical Research
• Then using the brush tool in the
soft rounded pressure opacity and
flow brush which would give the
light in the image. Selecting the
curve layer I started softly make
the light coming out from the
flower as the tutorial was saying. I
had to drag the light from the
flower to the girl to make the
effect that was a light inside the
flower. Then I used again the curve
but this time I put it a bit bright so
that could give the image a good
lighting.

If you do any additional subject research, record that here. This might be most relevant if you are producing a magazine or a documentary but even a fiction trailer might require some additional research in to a particular subject.
Getting some background information on your subject would be a really good idea.
