2. • The research and planning I did in order to create a successful production which appeals to
my target audience is I did some secondary research this is where I search the genre of my
magazine online and I found some information about the genre such as who the target
audience is and what age are the readers.
• Some other information which I found out when searching about rhe magazine genre is that
the audience that reads the magazine are 87% female. I also found out the the age of the
target audience ranges from 11 years old to 15 years of age.
• This affected the production of my magazine because I thought that since the magazine
audience is mainly younger girls I would have to make the magazine appeal more to them by
the use of a colour scheme, content and the images used. However I would still have to
included content which appealed to boys because 13% of the pop genres audience are male.
Research and Planning
What research and planning did you do in order to create a successful production in appealing to
your target audience? And how did it affect your ideas?
3. Production Choices: Here you need to discuss how you think you appealed to your audience.
• One form which I have used in my magazine so that it appealed to the target audience the colour
scheme I have used. The could scheme I have used in my magazine is are sort of a pastel colour and the
colours are blue, pink, white and I have used black for the text and the outline of the boxes so that they
stand out. The reason why I have used some blue in my magazine is because blue is looked at as a
male/boy colour and this might mean that more boys will find it appealing to read my magazine.
• Another form I used in my magazine to make sure it appealed to my target audience is the images I
used. The images I used in my magazine have teenaged girls in them and their ages are ranging
between 16 to 17 year old. I decided to use images like this because the majority readers can relate to
being a teenage girl and they can look at the images relate to them. What I also did was I made sure
that my models in my magazine were wearing clothing which was appropriate for the magazine. For
example the clothing covered most of the skin so that the images looked more innocent and it would be
appealing to the audience. Finally when I was taking the images I asked my models to look like they
where having a good time and they were enjoying themselves, in effect of this it will make the magazine
look more fun.
• The final thing I did to my magazine to make sure to make sure it appealed you my target audience is I
made sue that the content was acceptable for the audience to read and I also made sure the the
content would have not only information in for the reader to read but I also made sure that the content
inside of the magazine would be interesting to read for the reader to that they would read the articles
more often.
4. Audience feedback on my final magazine product
This is what my final product looks like:
What I did was is I asked people questions on
my final product and I got answer on the

10. Annotating my magazine: Language use
This is my final magazine product you can see that
there is text on all of the pages, and all of the text is
written in the same way (the same content language
use) I have done that so that the audience/ the reads
will understand and relate to what it is saying, I have
done that because the audience to my magazine is
ages rages from ages 11 to 15 and if I had a magazine
that had very formal content with the Queen’s
language. The Queen's English refers to grammatically
correct and coherent written expression in the English
language. There for if I wrote my magazine in that
language then the readers probably would not
understand the content of my magazine and get bored
of reading it. What I also made sure that I did was
when I was writing my main article I made sure that
the article did not go over 700 words because I did not
want it to be to big or have way to much text on a
page. However I did not want my article to be to small
either because it had to have detail in it so I made sure
that it was more than 500 words
11. Annotating my magazine: colour use
The arrows that lead to this box are pointing to the colours
that I used in the colour scheme for my magaizne. In my
magazine i also included a colour scheme, a colour scheme
is a vital part of a magazine because it will make your
magazine stand out from others in a shop when you
distribute your magazine. The colour scheme which i used
was pink, grey, whit and black. white, grey and black are
very neutral colours so i included a vibrant pink so that it
stood out on the magazine. Another reason why i used this
colour scheme is because both boys and girls read this
magazine so i used colours which appealed both to boys and
girls. 87% of the audience is girls and 13% of the audience is
girls, so i included some pink in my colour scheme so it
appealed to the magazine adding to this if your magazine
has an affective colour scheme and it does stand out will
start to make more sale and my selling more magazine you
will earn more money and your magazine will have a larger
audience so more shops will want o sell your magazine so
then you will have more distributors wanting to sell you
magazine, this is all just from having a good colour scheme
which stands out and works effectively.
12. Annotating my magazine: costumes
All of these lines are showing the different costuming I
used for each model, these costuming is also different to
represent the different social groups in society today. The
costuming in my magazine, in another key element to the
front cover, contents page and the double page spread.
The costuming plays a key role in the representation of the
music genre. for example my magazine is a pop magazine
so the costuming in my magazine had to be Pacific to the
genre, so i made sure that the clothing that my models '
Jodie Brown, Sadie Abel and Bethan Horner' had on was
light/ neurtral colours and that they didn't reveal to much
skin because it has to appeal to the target audience which
is ages 11 to 15. I pick that Jodie also have light colours on
because it make her look innocent and that will appeal tot
the readers and they can then relate to the magazine.
13. Annotating my magazine: location
The locations that i used to create my images for
the front cover, contents page and the double page
spread of may magazine was mostly at college,
however i did some additional work at home. one
key location that i used when i was creating my
magazine was at the media photography studio a
college, i use this location to take the images that i
needed for my magazine. I used the studio because
it had good lighting for my images and it also had
different colour back drops. i used the white back
drops so that it was easier for my to select the
people in the images using the quick selection tool
on Photoshop. The other location that i used was
the media classroom where i used the mac
desktops in there. i used this location when i was
creating my magazine one Photoshop and indesign.
