Warm-up
You cannot go to school, drive, own land or have a job (no
money to buy anything). What would you do and how would
you feel?
Write a 2-3 sentence response to the above question.
2. We’ll read pages 25- 28 today (Green book)
Pages 25 and 26 discuss the gender gap (How badly women
are treated in some countries).
Page 28 shows how important education is. Without it, you
would be poor and die. We shall read the story of a young
girl in Africa who wishes she could go to school.
We’ll take some notes, finish the chapter.
Next week, we’ll do posters again but bigger and better
prepared.
Plan for today
3. Need ELEVEN volunteers to read. Raise your hands at the
end of each paragrapgh / point.
(Note) Gender inequality: when someone’s sex or gender
affects their human rights and dignity.
(Note) Gender Pay Gap: Women are paid less and hired less
than men in many countries.
Write answers to question 1-6 from page 26 (at the bottom).
Read the top of page 25 again if stuck on question 6.

4. Need THREE volunteers to read, two paragraphs
each. Take note after reading.

poverty where you cannot escape.

5. Have an image ready for next week that represents human
dignity (Self-respect, self-worth, discrimination or one of
the issues). We’ll draw it class the next week.
Where do I get an image?
1. Look over the book and the pictures there.
2. Google and have it saved on your phone.
3. Print or have a page from a paper or magazine.
Preparation is the key to success. Be prepared with a pic.
