Production Process Evaluation
Research
• Strengths
• Researching similar existing products is useful because you can find
elements of the genre's product you like and dislike and incorporate them
into your project.
• Seeing what patterns and colours are most used into your personal
favourite and also the hottest albums can help you with your own design
and colouring.
• Sometimes you need to look at someone else's work to get
motivation/inspiration to do your own.
• It’s important to show that you put effort into understanding the history of
existing products and what processes they used, otherwise it’s harder to
learn.
• Weaknesses
• Because there is so many variations of album art/imagery it can be hard to
start the process of your own when you don’t have the creative teams,
photographers and artists that big bands/artists do, It can make you feel
like you can’t live up to your protentional when you’re thinking/working all
alone.
• It’s sometimes hard to annotate/evaluate other peoples work/art.
Planning
• Strengths
• It’s import to plan throughout your project process, not only for the evidence
that your ideas grew and changed but to have a place to go to if you forget
what you initially wanted to create. Even though my first planning was only a
few weeks ago it’s already interesting for me to look back and see what I
hoped my product would become, especially after making that hope come
true.
• I’ve always really liked making mood boards and colour schemes for projects
professional and personal, It’s another way to show your ideas, it’s nice to be
able to do that visually.
• It’s ice to be able to pull up all your plans for something you’ve made for
anyone who needs/wants to see it.
• I lie have 2-4 initial ideas in projects like this so I can think about the pros and
the cons of each but also leave the other 1-2 for a different project whether in
college or not.
• Weaknesses
• This process can often be time consuming and quite intimidating when you
have to decide your idea for something you’re going to working on for a month
or so.
• If your idea changes completely it can feel unmotivating looking back at
previous different ideas, it may feel like you failed at your initial task.
• It’s sometimes difficult to put across what you mean by what you’re
saying/planning.
Time Management
• I did a lot more than I thought I could in the time, and
although I didn’t do all that I planned it wasn’t because I
didn’t have time, it was mostly because I felt those added
ideas wouldn’t actually add to my products.
• I didn’t do the songbook and I didn’t put my cover into a CD
case.
• If I had more time I probably would’ve just created more
detailed work, with more examples. If I had more tie I
would have created more merch designs and a website
design for all of them to go on. I may have created a more
3D Interactive event layout, etc.
• I finished the majority of it in the time, if not all.
• I’m happy with what I got done with the limits I had
Technical Qualities
Glass animals Merch My Merch
My album cover
Twenty-one pilot's
album cover
There isn’t many
instant similarities,
They have
completely different
themes and main
colour schemes.
Although they’re
both drawn and have
the circle elements.
Their title is small
and spaced apart
whereas mine is
bolder and more
liquified/close
together
Glass animals has some more
funky, large, prints on their tops,
and then a lot simpler ones as
well, and I think that’s a good
mix. I tried to do that myself,
have some more “out there”
merch and some more wearable
items too
The patterns
within the
circles in their
album could be
considered like
the pattern
within the whole
of my cover
They use a lot of their
song lyrics within their
merch, and I didn’t get
to write a songbook or
lyrics for my album
meaning there was no
known lyrics I could use
Aesthetic Qualities
I think If I had more time to
experiment with tis design I
would’ve been able to make it
look more professional and
interesting.
I like the different colours and
how the contrast with each
other so nicely, not to harsh
but not to close to the
background either.
With the experience I have I feel I made
it creative enough but also realistic
enough that if I ever start a band, I can
use all the things I’ve made here as
either my final profiles and covers or a
steppingstone to something better later.
Whenever you’re on a
time frame it’s often
difficult to do things the
way you wanted to do
them, but I think I
balanced things I wanted,
what feedback I got from
the survey and doing it all
in time well.
A weakness is that I’m
not that good at drawing
so the image I may have
in my head is often not
what comes out. I do my
best with the skills I have
but I wish I had the
patience to practice
more often so I could
make work I’m prouder
of
I think no matter your artistic abelites you
can make something beautiful; art doesn’t
have to be amazing for someone to love it,
we see that kind of art everywhere,
especially within modern art, is it
amazing? No but do we still buy and look
at it? yes
Audience Appeal
I specifically made clothes that are “any
gender friendly”
I think all clothes are unisex because
anyone can wear anything they want.
None of my products seem
to have contributed to any
harmful stereotypes.
The interactive event is family
friendly and something anyone
can enjoy
I think all in all anyone who liked
this band and wanted to support
them could and would
Small bands normally appeal to
people who want unique or
different, they want to have known
an arist or a band since they first
started making music
None of the
products look
too grown up or
childish so it's
not
going against
any ages
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
• Colourful
• Engaging
• Creative
• Realistic
• Design is fluent but not repetitive
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
• Cold've changed the background colour of the black
hoodie, so it was the same as the rest
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
• Captivates your audience
• Orginal ideas are displayed in an innovative way
that hasn't been seen with other artists
• Poster's tie into the branding and are layed and
spaced out well
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
• More detail
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
• The name really stands out and instantly makes me interested
to click and see the interesting art that makes me question
what's going on? It makes listening to the music very inticing
and makes me want to go to the event as it seems bizzarre
and I want to know more
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• I would say the interactive event poster is a bit confusing and
has a lot going on especially with it being at the STEM centre,
so maybe making that simpler
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
• I definetly could've done more detailing and thinking
if I had more time so I completely agree with them
on that
• And I feel I could've made my interactive event
poster more understandable as well
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
• I agree with all of them, I don't think they said
anything I wouldn't say if I was them and just in
general
Peer Feedback Summary
I'm happy that most of
the comments from all
three people were
positive, so there isn’t
much I would have to
change about my
product overall.
I would make the interactive
event poster more
understandable by using
different language and more
directions AKA room number.
Take more time to add details
and fix things.

  • 11. Feedback 2 • What did you like about the product? • Captivates your audience • Orginal ideas are displayed in an innovative way that hasn't been seen with other artists • Poster's tie into the branding and are layed and spaced out well • What improvements could have been made to the product? • More detail
  • 12. Feedback 3 • What did you like about the product? • The name really stands out and instantly makes me interested to click and see the interesting art that makes me question what's going on? It makes listening to the music very inticing and makes me want to go to the event as it seems bizzarre and I want to know more • What improvements could have been made to the product? • I would say the interactive event poster is a bit confusing and has a lot going on especially with it being at the STEM centre, so maybe making that simpler
  • 13. Peer Feedback Summary • What do you agree with from your peer feedback? • I definetly could've done more detailing and thinking if I had more time so I completely agree with them on that • And I feel I could've made my interactive event poster more understandable as well • What do you disagree with from your peer feedback? • I agree with all of them, I don't think they said anything I wouldn't say if I was them and just in general
  • 14. Peer Feedback Summary I'm happy that most of the comments from all three people were positive, so there isn’t much I would have to change about my product overall. I would make the interactive event poster more understandable by using different language and more directions AKA room number. Take more time to add details and fix things.
