3. Research
• The strengths of my research were that I used my mind-map of the music
magazine constantly to see what else I could add in my product.
• My research had a big part in my product because I learned the main style
of most of the music magazines and could get a good idea of how to lay
mine out properly.
• I don’t believe there were any weaknesses in cock researching because as
I have said if I didn’t research I wouldn’t have known layout plans and all
of the other things music magazines have in them.
• Im not sure on if I could have done anything better as I put all of my time
and effort into making my product look as nice as possible, and I put time
into my research so that I knew what to do.
4. Planning
• Planning was another success as I got to see many different ways I could
do my layout and what I could put on the front cover of my magazine. My
planning helped me find the best possible layout and what to write when
it came to my double page spread.
• I think one weakness of my planning could have been that I didn’t take my
time with it, or the fact that I rushed instead of looking at all of my
possibilities.
• To improve I could have taken my time and experimented and looked at all
of my choices of layout carefully, however, I am happy with the way my
product turned out and I don’t particularly want to change it as I put a lot
of effort and time into the actual product itself.
5. Time Management
• I believe I have managed my time quite well, and I am trying to maintain
my standards of work while doing it to the time we have to complete it.
• I have completed my project two days before I am meant to hand it in,
however, I do believe that I can use those two days effectively by
enhancing/improving my designs and maybe add more detail into my
magazine itself.
• I wouldn’t say my product would have improved after time but that may
be because I like the work I have done and I believe that it is of a good
standard.
• Well I still have time to produce work but if I didn’t, I would probably say
that if I had more time I would have spent it on planning out my product
before actually producing it.
6. Technical Qualities
There isn’t much similarity between my work
and an actual double page of a music magazine,
however, they both have a singer on the page
and they both obviously have writing.
Differences on the other hand are that my
double page has two separate artists to
not keep the reader focused on one artist
reading things that may be irrelevant. My
magazine also has colour to it to make it
more attractive than just a pure white
background.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
I think my work looks good and I
hope other people do to as I spent
a lot of time and put a lot of effort
into making it look nice. I believe
that my work was creative
although with more time I could
have added a few more things to
it. For example I could have used
different tools to make my double
page spread look a lot nicer than it
does at the moment. An example
of a tool I could have used is the
channel mixer.
9. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the use of colour on both the front cover and
inside the magazine on the double page spread.
– Also I love that the background to the Ed Sheeran
page is the same colour as his new album.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Maybe you could try adding more writing on the
double page.
10. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– The artist featured on the front is outstanding to the rest
of the cover and grabs the attention of the reader very
well
– The layout of the double page spread is simply designed
and therefor there is not too much going on. This means
that the reader can easily find the information that they
were promised on the cover.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
– The colour of the font or the background on the right page
of the double page spread could be changed to see the
font easier.
11. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
I love the background, it makes Adam Levine stand out more. I
like the images of Ed Sheeran, they really fit in with the article.
The article is very informant as it tells you about his new
album. Again, the other side for Maroon 5’s article is very
informant.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
When it says ‘Top 5 Artists’, you could have listed the artists
name at the bottom. I think you should add his name at the
top so then you know who the artist is. Need to check for
capitals. Maybe, could have written more about Maroon 5.
12. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree with the use of colour and the choice of
making Ed Sheeran’s page the same colour of his new
album ‘divide’ was a very clever and well thought out
idea.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I disagree with the complaints/advice on the font on
the right page on the double page spread is not very
visible. I could read it clearly when I had finished.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
If I had more time I would definitely add more writing to the
double page spread. I would also follow the feedback that I have
got to improve on the things that they didn’t like, so that my
audience are happier and satisfied.
I would also have to add more info on my right hand page for
Maroon 5 because it looks abit empty.
I would make changes to my product after reading my feedback
because I would like my audience to enjoy my product.
