3. Research
• The strengths of my research was that I could find different
ways of presenting my work as I had lots of ideas, the best
way that I could have found out which one was best was to try
out every single way and see which one I preferred it turned
out that I liked the wallpaper look as that was very
contemporary and fresh also it looked girly and vintage which
I love because that’s my favourite style.
• My research was effect as more boys answered than girls so
most of my work was just based on my own opinion it want
based on anyone else's I kind of just did in on my own accords
because none of there comments helped and if I went by
there comments I wouldn’t have had a product to do.
4. Planning
• For the planning area I didn’t do much as I already had a basic idea
anyway, so I knew that it was perfect and good enough for an idea I looked
at different ideas to see how they compared and looked at other products
similar to see what similarities and differences our ideas had. I did mind
maps and lots of brain storms to see which way to do it was the best. Most
of my work was just how I would express it so it wasn’t something I could
necessarily plan because it was what I though there and then. The
planning didn’t exactly make a massive difference to my work so I
wouldn’t say it has particular strengths. I could have probably done more
work on the panning but I would have just probably done the same thing.
5. Time Management
• If am honest my time wasn’t kept well as some days I had to spend longer
editing as there was more editing to do then I thought there would have been.
The timetable I did didn’t help because I had run some of my editing time in to
my designing time so I just ended up doing what I could when I could because
I was all muddled so I just did the work when I could.
• Because of this I wasn’t as organised and this is why my work took even longer
as well, somehow still got it in on the deadline even though I had slowed
down, but this meant that I had to go into my own time in my breaks and
study days.
• I would have used a better background so that I wouldn’t have had to remove
the background and replace it I would have saved so much time if I had of
done this. Also because of different things happening with my model, e.g. she
had a dance competition, so I couldn’t do the photos so I had to wait a week
till I could have her for the modelling. If she had not had that weekend
dancing I could have had my work done that week and have more time to
improve and finish my work to a very high standard.
6. Technical Qualities
The similarities mine has with this
one it that there are photos of kids
modelling the clothing also there
is a title at the top and the
pictures are in rectangle shape.
The differences are that I have put
white and pink backgrounds on mine
so it stands out better also, I have put
prices on mine also I state the age
range and a more stand out
background.
Name of the
fashion show
So is branded
to that
Particular place
Mine has lots of
Different stores
where
You can get
them
Unlike the
other.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
Personally I think
my work looks
Good and I think
This because
It is very vintage
And stands out
The pictures are
Clear and when
The background
Is on it makes it
Look vintage
Which is the type
Of look I was going
For with this its
Turned out just
Like I wanted it to.
Some of the
weakness I have
in my work is the
photo shopping I
haven’t done a
lot with photo
shopping people
so this was quite
tricky after a
while I got it a lot
better but its still
isn’t top quality
which isn’t really
noticeable but
would be if you
zoomed in.
I think some of
the strengths of my
work Is the actual taking if the photos I haven't really done photography before and I didn’t have
Amazing quality in camera as I used my phone and I didn’t have a studio I used my living room
So for the quality of the pictures was my strength to make sure I used my equipment to the
Best I could and used different backgrounds to make the picture lift up. Also my use of
colours and how they all work together to speak for the page. It says Girly and mature, also is
very contemporary.
8. Audience AppealThe answers I got from my
questionnaire
wasn’t helpful as they didn’t answer
the main questions but answered the I
don’t know or prefer not to say answers
so I didn’t get enough information so
went by the popularity of the other
products in magazines and really just
went on what I already knew
This helped a lot more because I
already could think of all the people
that this would appeal to
Also I already had an idea in the first
place so it wouldn’t have really made a
difference is the answers had said other
wise. As the people I asked to do my
survey where mostly boys it didn’t
really appeal to them anyway as the
have not much interest into kids
fashion, also the age range that I asked
wasn’t really helpful as the only way
they would have a 6-10 year old in
there life would be sister of cousin it
wouldn’t be from having there own
child so I would have to ask over 25s to
see and because I didn’t have anyone
that age to ask I didn’t exactly get an
accurate answer.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product? I liked the colours and
how there were different back grounds for different
pictures as it made it look less plain but was good as it was
used on photos with white in and because its got white in
you wouldn’t be able to use a white background so it was
practical as well as fancy.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product? I would have used a different colour for the
writing as it didn’t go well with the other colours it looked a
bit off as the theme was white and pink and the writing was
purple, I guess that it couldn’t have been white or pink as
then there would be to much of them colours but I didn’t
think purple went very well (not that purple anyway).
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product? I liked the
pictures they were very different for each other and
the model was captured really well with the lighting
plus she had some good poses which really made the
piece more fun and loose.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product? When the pictures were taken I would have
used a brighter light the yellow light didn’t really go as
well it looks good for what equipment there was but a
wite light would have ben better.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product? I liked the
vintage look, vintage is really coming in and I
think it is weirdly refreshing with the colours and
the boldness.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? There might be a little too much
pink, even though its for girls clothing it is slightly
stereotypical as not all girls like pink, for instance
my favourite colour is green and I am a girl.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback? I
agree with most things from the feed back it is sensible
and makes a lot of sense.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
Am not that sure about the purple situation as there
wasn’t very many colours that would stand out on
them colours and this colour did for me but if that’s
what they think then I will take that into mind and also
with the too much pink that clearly could e an issue
but if we used every single colour possible to fit every
girl it would look messy and unpresentable.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
I would probably take the feed back of the colouring of
the light as I did want to use white light but just didn't
have the equipment so just had to make do with a more
orange light instead. Also maybe it would be best to use
a colour that is mutual stead of pink maybe a lilac or a
beige then it wouldn’t be as stereotypical. I would
maybe make the full thing slightly more funky maybe
less boring as it doesn’t make a massive stand out
compared to other ones I have seen in magazines.
