Working Title:
Trapped
Audience:
My target audience is aimed towards 13 and older. My film is very gender neutral, meaning anyone
can watch it. As it is a thriller it will most likely appeal more to the male audience, however females
would also enjoy it. My film would appeal to this audience type as it I feel it is relatable to most
teens and young adults in the sense that the main character is stuck within her mind. The storyline
and the point behind it would appeal more to female audiences as I think they would understand
the trapped inside your own head part. In order to have my movie suit everyone, I will watch other
popular short thriller films and blockbuster movies in order to match criteria with what other viewers
enjoy watching, hopefully being able to film and create my movie based around whaty other
viewers of this genre enjoy.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
As I use Final Cut Pro X everyday when editing my vlogs, I am good at editing shots together so
they don’t jump from scene to scene, but rather have a nice flow to them. As we spent the
beginning of this year editing, I feel my skills have improved since last year and I will be able to do
different effects within my film to make it look more interesting and realistic.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept of my story is a girl is running through a forest living her normal life when she starts
being ‘chased by someone’. She wakes up in room that she recognises as the girl running through
the field was her before she was trapped. A note gets slipped underneath her door reading TIME
IS RUNNING OUT” she turns to look at the clock on the wall and the screen goes black only to
come back on, however the girl is now lying in a hospital bed. The plot twist is that she was in a
coma and trapped inside her own head. She had been in an accident in the forest, sending her into
a temporary coma, thus meaning she was trapped inside her own thoughts. I want my audience to
be left wondering what actually happened to her, whether it was a kidnapping and something
happened when the screen went black the first time or if something else happened.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
I won’t need to do any specific techniques in regards to filming my movie, as it is a pretty simple
structure as to how I want it. I will need to learn some editing skills however, as I want to have
some of my scenes flashing over others which may take some time to edit, but I feel it will make
my project look more well done and thrilling. In order to find out how to do this I will have to
YouTube / Google some other people doing what I want to and practise on other pieces of film to
see if it looks correct.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
In order to evaluate my work and make it the best it can be, I’ll ask people what they enjoyed about
my movie and didn’t, as well as what they liked about the editing and storyline also. I will take all of
this information into count and attempt to create a movie that suits all and is enjoyable on first
viewing and makes [people want to watch over and over.

Schedule
WEEK OVERALL PLAN SPECIFIC TASKS
1 -Initial Response
-Production Experiments
When completing my
initial plans, I created
mood boards, 2 mind
maps with different
ideas as to what we
wanted to create as a
final project and
evaluated our mood
boards with
explanations as to
why we chose the
images we chose
when creating the
mood board.

-Audience Research
-Proposal
-Begin Pre-production
For our audience
research we created
a survey with several
questions asking our
audience what kind of
genre of film
(specifically short film)
they enjoyed
watching. We also
discussed within that
PowerPoint what
camera effects we
would be using and
how we would be
editing our shots
together. Within the
pre-production
PowerPoint we
discussed the plot of
our story, breaking
down the structure of
the story, we also did
a story development
document in which
broke down our story
in to sections to help
understand it further.
For our proposal we
spoke about the
production of the
movie i.e. what
audience we are
trying to attract,
developing our story
further etc.

filming.
4 -Filming/Editing This week we filmed
all of our scenes and
edited them together
in adobe premier,
removing sound,
shortening shots and
arranging them in
appropriate order.
5 -Post-production
-Screening/Evaluation
Within our final week
of filming, we edited
anything else we
needed, completed
any final pieces of
work. We also filled
out an evaluation
PowerPoint, looking
back on all the work
we had done,
including comparing
our work to other
short films with a
similar genre to our
own.
