Working Title:
Bitter Attachment
Audience:
My audience for my short film is targeted for 16-24 year olds with a unisex gender.
From my research on YouGov.com my social status is C2DE. I have chosen this
social status as it means anyone can watch what I have produced. This means that
the short film will be free as the audience is working class, this relates to my
product as anyone can play it! The way in which it is free no one has to pay to see
the short film. This will also create a buzz, as it will expand the audience. The
psychographic for this group is an emulator. This relates to my short film, as the
audience member wants to seem successful and powerful.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Throughout the 16 weeks, which I have been at college, I have learnt how to edit
videos with premier pro, create my own animation and use Photoshop effectively.
The subjects which I have studied this year have impacted my idea for my short
film. I know now how to edit videos, so throughout my planning for this short film
I have been thinking of different ways how to edit this and make it look really cool.
Last rotation, I was learning about video games and for my final project in this
rotation I had to animate through Photoshop and export into premier pro, this will
have a direct impact on my project as I have experienced the difficulties of premier
pro and I know how not to make these mistakes again.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My concept for my project is a Short film lasting 60-90 seconds. The genre of my
film is a thriller mainly because it consists of a stalker. Basically, a best friend
turns bad. They have a massive row and end up breaking up their relationship.
One of the girls goes rogue and becomes this crazy stalker who tries to kill her best
friend. Many of the audience have experienced a row with one of their best friends
and they will be able to relate to a bit of the story. The research, which I will need
to conduct, is how to intrigue the audience to a short film and how I can make this
short film more popular with the targeted audience. This will help my project as I
will constantly be thinking about what the target audience will be wanting and
interested in.
Production Techniques (approx. 150words)
I will need to include some specialist techniques to entice the audience. One of the
techniques, which I will include, using a Foley sound recording. This includes a
Tascam recorder. When I was doing my research, I learnt some tips about using
Foley sound effects. Another specialist technique, which I will use during
postproduction, is using the editing software Premier pro. Also, when I was
looking for research techniques, I looked at a few clips, which showed me tips and
short cuts for this software.

Evaluation (approx. 50words)
When evaluating my work, I will conduct a on-going evaluation throughout the
week which I can include in my overall evaluation as it can be examples on how I
have developed over the week. I will include self-reflection and I will even get one
of my classmates to evaluate my work and get them to say what is good and bad
about the weeks work.

Schedule
WEEK OVERALL PLAN SPECIFIC TASKS
1 -Initial Response
-Production
Experiments
In the initial response, I had to evaluate how I felt about
the whole proposed proposal. I had to complete three
mind maps of potential ideas for my project. These
included 3 mood boards and 3 mood board analysis.
For the product experiments, I had to create my own
short film and film around college for one of the
experiments, my other experiment was for ‘Shaun of the
dead’ I had to create my own sound effects to match up
with this film.
2 -Product
-Audience Research

-Begin Pre-
production
My audience research took longer than I thought it
would, I had to create my own primary audience. I
created a survey on survey monkey, which 9 people
answered. This became really helpful. I had to look
online for secondary research, I went onto the yougov
website and found a profile for people who enjoy
filmmaking as they would be the audience for short
film. I then found 3 products that matched my idea for
my product and analysed them. I then looked-for tips
for editing, story and sound. In my proposal, I included
my concept and my target audience in this as well as
other important subjects. I then began to start the Pre-
production which included a story development sheet
3 -Pre-production
-Filming
This week will include finishing my pre-production.
This includes creating my own storyboard and a shot
list which I will spend time on creating so it has loads of
detail involved. When going onto stage three in this
PowerPoint I have todo a risk assessment, contingency
plan, a production schedule and a call sheet as well as
many other tasks. During this week, I also have to book
the equipment out to film with. By the end of the week I
should be thinking about filming if I have prepared fully
to film.
4 -Filming/Editing For week four I have to make sure I have filmed the
whole of my short film on the equipment which I
booked out. I will film on Wednesday. This means I can
finish the rest of my theory work on the Tuesday and be
fully prepared to film on the Wednesday. Leaving
Thursday and Friday to edit my film. When I get time
on Wednesday, I have booked out the Tascam recorder
meaning that when I’m going around filming I can also
film my sound effects.

5 -Post-production
-
Screening/Evaluation
For my post production, I will start towrite my
evaluation. Hopefully by week 5 I would have finished
editing my film and be ready toevaluate it. When
evaluating my work, it will be a whole lot easier because
of the ongoing evaluation which I have been conducting
over the 5 weeks. I also have to complete a Production
reflection PowerPoint in this week so my main focus
will be these two PowerPoints.
