6. Mind Map
• Strengths of using this method
– It can help to form ideas and get inspiration.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– Sometimes you can think of too any ideas and it's
difficult to narrow it down to just a few.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I quite liked this method because it helped me to
form a rough layout for the finished project.
8. Mood Board
• Strengths of using this method
• This helps to visualise the final product more easily thanks
to all the different images and colours.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• There can be a certain limit to how many images you can
find. Some of them might not match with what you were
trying to do.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• This was useful for helping me to think up a few designs for
the final product.
10. Style Sheet
• Strengths of using this method
– When creating the posters, it’s useful to look back on this to
help find the right fonts and styles that you found previously.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– Sometimes you might decide to change certain things in the
final design or find something else to use which can make what
you saved before not very useful anymore.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• This method helped me decide on different fonts and styles
that might look good with the finished thing which also saves
me a lot of time.
13. Layout Plan
• Strengths of using this method
– This is probably the most useful method for me as I can properly plan out and
design what I want it to look like visually. I looked at multiple different
examples to help me do this and tried to keep them simple and not
overcomplicate the designs.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– It can be hard to get it the way you want it to be. It’s not always easy to find
the right image, position it properly or have it look the exact way you wanted.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• This is probably my most favourite method out of the bunch. I got to learn
how to use different software along with a few tips and tricks like how to
remove the background of an image which I found very useful.

15. Independent Brainstorm
1. Mother tells 2 sons to put some snacks
out for Santa. The younger brother
decides to put out some milk and cookies.
The older brother decides to switch the
milk with some coke instead.
2. Two friends go to the park and one of
them complains that they’re thirsty. The
second friend tells them that they
should’ve gotten some coke. They both
end up getting coke the next time they
go.
3. A girl is sitting by herself feeling a little
down. Another girl has just bought a coke
and is with some friends. She sees the girl
by herself and gives her the coke.
16. Independent Brainstorm
• Strengths of using this method
– Looking through different adverts and researching them gave me some ideas
which helped me to get started. There’s a lot out there which helped me to
think of some interesting ideas.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• Sometimes you can’t think of anything too original or interesting when
listening to existing adverts. A lot of them can be quite strange and not
very helpful when trying to think of an idea.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• It’s interesting to see the difference between adverts and learn how each
one has been made individually. Using this method also helped me to
practice my editing skills and how to mix audio together. There's still a few
things I need to learn and practice but I enjoyed it overall.

18. Group Idea Generation
• Strengths of using this method
• Sometimes it's easier working in a group than by yourself simply
because there’s more people to share ideas.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• Not everyone can have the same ideas and they might not add up
together very well meaning it can take a while to decide on
something as a group.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• It was a lot of fun to do with other people than by myself and
definitely more
19. Informal Pitch
• Strengths of using this method
• I think it’s good to hear someone else’s feedback on your
idea overall and see if there are any suggestions.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• Sometimes the feedback might not be very useful.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• It’s better to receive feedback from one or more people so
you can strengthen your idea.
20. Formal Proposal
• Strengths of using this method
– It helps me to see everything I’ve done and make sure I’m
not missing anything important.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• There isn’t much that makes this method a
disadvantage as it is overall fairly useful to me.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I like using this method because it shows all of my
information in one place so I can look back on it easily.
21.
22. Initial Reaction
• I already really enjoy drawing and animation,
which makes me feel pretty excited to start
this project. I’ve seen a few advergames
before but I think it’d be helpful to do some
more research on them to gain some ideas. I
haven’t done animation with Photoshop
before so it might help me if I experiment with
it beforehand.
23. Initial Reaction
• Strengths of using this method
• I think it’s good to reflect back on this because it could come in
handy when I start the actual project and I need to look back on
what I’ve said previously.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• I don’t know too much about animation which could become tricky
when I start the animation process.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• It’s interesting to see what I learn from this after I’ve finished this
project and compare how much I knew then to now.
25. Sketches
• Strengths of using this method
• This helped me to practice my pixel art skills and it was pretty fun to
experiment with different designs for my animation.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• For me, it didn't really help me to think up many ideas for my
advergame and you can be very limited to how much detail you can
put into your animation.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I like drawing and experimenting with pixel drawings and it's
interesting to see the difference between pixel art and normal
digital art.
26. Formal Proposal
• Strengths of using this method
• My initial idea was to use something similar/adapt an already
existing game to turn it into an advergame.
• Weaknesses of using this method
• A lot of different examples I found made it hard to choose and
come up with one simple idea on its own.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
• I enjoyed learning and looking at different advergames/games to
form my ideas because there’s so many creative and unique ways to
advertise products.
