Mood Board
Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
A lot of the images I chose used lighter colours in the backgrounds and characters, the
scenery mostly being of houses from the outside or the inside. A fair mix of animals/pets
are also included along with a simple colour palette. A lot of brown, greys and
How will your mood board influence your final product?
My mood board has a mix of colours, backgrounds and characters, helping me to gain
inspiration which will be especially helpful during the planning and production of my
animation. The colour palettes and fonts I chose will help me think about how I should go
about designing my poster and logo. I want to make sure I add in the main character into
each of my products so the audience knows who to focus on. The characters I added to my
mood board are similar to what I would like to create myself for my products, for instance
the style, shape and colours of the characters.
Informal Proposal
Current Idea
Concept My story consists of a cat being left home alone after the owners go out in the
evening. As soon as the owners leave, the cat sits down on the sofa and turns on the
TV, flicking through the channels.
Type of
products you
would make
I can make a poster that introduces the characters that are going to appear within
my animation.
My second product can be a short trailer/preview for my animation.
What you will
need to make
them
I will need to design my characters before I begin to make the poster and for
software I will need Piskel and Photoshop.
For my short trailer I will need Piskel, Photoshop and Premier Pro.
Audience My product is aimed at around 13-18 year olds and females will probably be more
interested in my animation because of the style and the characters that will be used.
People who also enjoy creating or making animation will probably show an interest
in my work, too. Anyone who is in the lower and medium class will be able to view
on free streaming software like YouTube Etc.
Choices
Discounted ideas Reasons for not choosing this project
Filming • One of my first ideas initially was to do filming.
I have done it in the past and I really enjoyed it
and thought I’d keep this as one of my
potential options. When I tried to plan out
some ideas for it, there wasn’t much that
stood out to me. I wanted to include cats for
instance, but that was hard to capture on
camera in the way that I wanted.
Magazine • I also wanted to do a magazine because of
how much I enjoyed designing my first one.
Although, I struggled to come up with a theme
for my magazine. I wanted to try and pick
something I hadn’t done before but I couldn’t
come up with anything I wanted to do it on
and that interested me.
