Product’s Purpose:
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
My product is designed to entertain younger children. I will be adding sound effects and
music in the background.
Genre:
What sort of product is it?
It is an audio book which kids can listen to, and it is set in a world where animalscan talk to
one another. They all have their own names and act like humans would.
Content
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
My audio book will include a short story about a mix of different animals. Music will be
playing in the background and sound effects will also be added, for example: dog barking,
wind blowing, bird chirping etc. The idea I have for this audio book is that there will be a
band competition and a group of animals decide to participate in it. They are getting ready
for the competition but one of the characters cannot find their instrument, so everyone
helps them look for it.
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
My product is intended for young children around 0-8 and will interest both girls and boys.
Parents who fit into the belongers category are mostly likely to get this product for their
kids. Medium class can afford this product because the price won’t be too high, and this
social group might find this product appealsto them more because it’s more accessible for
their children.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include?
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
Will your product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?
There shouldn’t be anything offensive about my product because it’s directed at kids, and it
only includes a bunch of friendly animals. I will make sure the story isn’t offensive by
asking other people’s opinions and listening to different stories. I will be creating my own
characters and story to avoid copyright, but If I wanted to check to see if a story was like
another one, I can research existing products that might seem similar.
