2. First Draft As soon as I finally finished this page, I immediately thought it it way to empty and hardly uses any conventions of a real media product. However the reason I first used it was because I believed using a full bleed photo with little text would be a modern and stylish approach. I have now found that this is not the case, as it looks like an amateur attempt at creating a magazine and therefore not looking as if it’s a professional product. Although I believe I have chosen the correct image that the reader will find intriguing, the main feature is not highlighted enough and nor is there any content on any other article within the magazine. I also believe that the barcode could be slightly smaller as having it bigger, is not a stylish method. The colour of the article font is also an issue as it does not stand out that well.
3. Second Draft Even though I believe the use of different colours of the main article are used and it is bigger, the design is still to simplistic and not stylish. I thought the masthead would look good on its side to display the untidiness that is a connotation of rock and roll, however the reader an not fully see it nor does it look attractive or professionally placed. The march 10 text at the top is in an incorrect place and is not in a suitable position for the magazine therefore it may need to be removed on placed somewhere else.
4. Final Draft After another week and a half, I believe I have successfully created a much more improved magazine as it uses many more conventions and look’s more like a professional product. The repeated use of red and white colour, help the font to clearly stand out to the reader and therefore making it more eye-catching. This especially helps the main article to stand out as it is no much larger than any other text apart from the title showing the audience that it is the main feature. I have also included more articles, to show the reader that they are not just buying one article they are buying various ones, therefore getting a better deal for their money. I have also included a much smaller image of a special offer thus giving it a more official magazine feel, as there is a amazing trip that could be won inside. This is also a promotional tactic as more people will invest their money into the magazine if they know they could win a prize.
