2. When it comes to the design of my magazine I aimed to create a sense
of continuity without using a set theme. Every page is different but I
still tried to make the magazine flow to the reader. I think I have done
a good job with this, I think the different techniques and effects on
each page are visually pleasing. My favorite area of design would have
to be the front cover, for this page I used the glitch effect. I think this is
effective as the effect colours match and compliment the image
colours. I also think that my use of images is used well in the zine
however next time I would like to produce more quality and quantity
of text as I became pressed for time in this stage of the project.
3. In my magazine I included many large images of different areas
of festivals and the festival season. I included several articles and
an interview to engage the reader.I decided to place several
adverts in my magazine each one edited in some way, for
example I used colour correction and warped the logos and my
skiddle advert. Or for the Parklife advert I created a blur effect
around certain areas of the image while leaving the stage
unaffected, this really made the darker colours pop on the
image. I think the effect suited the image well and I used a colour
wheel to the purple colour to compliment it. I also included an
interview in to my fanzine, I thought this was important to
include as it engages the reader in to a story.
4. My magazine was based around festivals, I chose those
subjects because it gave a variety of topics and ideas to use.
My articles covered introductions, festivals new and old,
harm reduction etc. I thought these subjects were well
chosen as they gave a lot of material to write about and
were fairly easy to find information about online. The zine
itself was produced at the end of the festival season after
going to several festivals myself I felt it an appropriate topic
as I had recent first hand experience to write from.
5. During this project the main new skills I learnt were editing
techniques. However I did apply a lot of skills to the creation of the
magazine. By trying to design every page slightly different I used a
lot of different backgrounds, borders and layouts. I think in some
ways I pushed myself however I did not find anything drastically
hard, I did enjoy learning how a zine should look and be set out. I’d
say my main issue was struggling with image quality when designing
my pages I did find some ways round it however often images were
of a lower quality than I would of liked. I think I this project went
fairly well however I had some isues with timing my work partly due
to being ill. Next time I would aim to be more productive in the time
given.

What are you favourite pages/articles in the magazine and why?
I really like the front cover, especially the glitch effect. I think it sticks with the theme
well and makes the front cover pop. I also like the contents page as it has a really clean
and professional look to it.
What are the things you like the most and why?
I like the minimalistic design as it is quite simple yet makes the whole fanzine look very
clean and professional. Nothing is overcrowded and makes it easy to read.
What are the areas of the magazine that need improving?
I feel the way to improve this fanzine is to complete the rest of the pages and add
more pages. Maybe add a little bit more detail to some areas such as the adverts. Just
a little but more detail with the events.

What are you favourite pages/articles in the magazine and why?
I thought the best pages were the Harm reduction page as well as the
advert page. I liked the harm reduction page because the background
with the smiley faces looked really good. I liked the advertised page as
the font you used worked well as it ws the actual font for the festival.
What are the things you like the most and why?
I most liked the overall design you used and I liked how it was different
on every page but it all still looked good. I also think the layout and
style you used on your contents page as well as the image and the F
logo looked really good and professional.
