2. It’s essential to ensure that my magazine sticks to it’s ’brand
guidelines’ to ensure the magazine ‘fits together’. By this I mean
by having the same masthead on every magazine in order to
increase he promotion of the brand and not confuse the reader.
In addition the colour scheme and certain font sizes should
remain the same in order to reinforce the genre of the magazine
but again to ensure the magazine looks as if it should all be
together and not all over the place.
3. My brand guidelines
My main font is ‘Aurora BdCn BT’ because I feel it’s a bold and striking setting the tone of my
magazine. I’ve chosen to use this for my masthead and artists name to make my unique selling
points prominent.
The contents page is a page where brand guidelines need to be followed especially when it
comes to the font details of the headings and text. My headings is size 18 and the text beneath
it is size 11. This is in order to make my sell lines more recognizable which is likely to appeal to
my audience and generate sales. It’s essential this remains consistent on my contents page in
order to maintain a professional look for my magazine.
Finally It’s important my colour scheme is the same through out, I chose Burgundy, black,
white and Grey. Burgundy is my main colour which represents importance in my magazine but
also it’s quite a powerful but relaxed colour generating an indie look. The use of the consistent
colour scheme emphasises the sophisticated but slightly edgy look for my magazine.
