Content
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
My magazine will have two different sections. There is the cover that will have a small
amount of information about the main topic along with a range of other topics and
advertisements that are related to the gaming community e.g. special offers on consoles
and clothing merchandise. Then there is the double page spread where there will be a
page that is only about one topic and that’s it and in my magazine the main topic will be a
game called “The last of us”. I will not be writing a story but I will be looking into the game
and talking about the features, story in the gamecampaign, characters, scenarios,
locations, the company that made it, etc.
Talk about how Naughty dog refuses sexist box art for the last of us
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc.
Why would your project appeal to this person?
My audience for my magazine will be aged from 14-20 because my magazine will be
talking about the 18+ game “the last of us” so there will need to be a mature audience
reading the magazine. However I have also done this age because at these ages is where
you are often the most interesting in gaming if you have been a gamer and at this age is
when you start to want more gaming products and the newer consoles. So I think that my
magazine will attract these types of people mostly because of the gaming products
advertisements and because of the mature games I will be talking about in the magazine.

Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include? - My magazine might contain graphic images
from the game last of us on the double sided spread page and will talk about aspects of the game
that some parents might not want there children to here so I will keep all information and images
like that inside the magazine and keep the cover family friendly so that people have to read the
warnings and then buy the product to see what’s inside.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it? - It is difficult to restrict my product from a
younger audience however I will put warnings on the magazine about the game and how it
contains graphic images and violence so that the audience is warned before buying the product.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities? - The cover of my magazine will not offend
any social groups/religions/ethnicities however the game on my double page spread could
potentially offend that type of audience. This is because this game takes place in a apocalyptic
environment where a disease has caused world wide panic and destruction, leading to characters
saying things, doing things or seeing things that might not be seen as appropriate by this
audience.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone? - I will put warnings on my magazine so that the
customer knows of the information and topics that will be talked about inside and that if they could
get offended they should not read any further.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs? - in my product I will be using the
logo of “naughty Dog” and using pictures of the characters and locations from the game “The last
of us” on the cover page and double sided spread inside the magazine.
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement? - My product might have a similar layout to a range of other magazines however I
will be putting my own twist on the ideas I have found/want to do so that it is not very similar to any
existing products but a genuine idea.
