5. The dark colours make the audience think of evil, villains, and crime. The
word Riverdale written in as bright blue colour can make the audience
think that the town is pure and good, however the dark colours give the
impression that something dark and horrible has happened in the town.
The props of a dark forest makes the audience feel nervous and
apprehensive.
6. The colours and look of the character on the front cover of dare devil makes the
audience think that the character is a villain. However he isn’t. the colours red have the
connotations of blood, evil, or love. The dark buildings can give an evil feeling to the
audience. However the slight glimmer of blue sky can give the impression of purity,
good and peace.
7. The colours on the cover of this series can give
mixed signals. Because the nun is the colour
white which has the connotations of purity,
peace, kindness, clean and gentile but the black
blood coming from the eyes can make you think
that the nun is evil. The white background
makes us focus more on the character than the
background. The character starts with being
pure, good and innocent but the turns dark. The
black blood coming from the eyes symbolises
that darkness.
8. Soundtrack
• Clip 1
Clip one makes the audience think of evil,
darkness and gives them the impression
that something bad is going to happen.
• Clip 2
Clip two can give the impression that
something good is happening as if they
are falling in love, they have found
something good or relieving or that they
have done a good thing. It has the
connotations of happiness.
9. Shining
• This version of the shinning makes the
audience feel happy because the boy has
found a dad. The trailer makes the dad come
across as miserable before he meets the boy,
then when they meet he becomes happy and
shows the good in him. The music also makes
the audience feel happy because the music is
upbeat.
10. Scary Mary
• At the start of the trailer the darkness of the
compass makes us instantly nervous. Also a lot
of close ups can give us the impression that
something bad will happen or that the
character is evil. The music also gives a bad
impression on the audience because its dark
and mysterious.

18. Clip Analysis
• The costume for dalf fader was dark and very
secretive which gives the impression that he is
evil. The lighting when dalf fader came onto
the scene suddenly went dark and he was very
much in the spot light, the camera work was
low to make him look big and powerful. The
colours are dark around dalf fader because he
is evil and secretive.
