Working Title: Gamer’s Plus
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Product’s Purpose: The product’s purpose is to entice the gamers into buying my gaming
magazine. The magazine will entertain and educate the readersabout games coming up.
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
Genre: The product is a magazine consisting of games and facts of specific games coming
out.
What sort of product is it
Content: My product is about a gamer’s magazine to tell people about new and upcoming
games that are just in. I will be putting in games that are new to consoles and PC’s and I
will be tending to all consoles, so not staying to one specific console as that restricts my
target audience. The magazine doesn’t specifically have a story as its really just a factual
magazine telling people what’snew.
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
Audience: My audience will probably be aged 16+ as the games I will be mentioning a lot of
games that are recommended for players who are of that age. Also my audience will be
gamers of any console and PC platform, as then I will have plenty of viewers who will vie w
my game. Most of my audience I would say would be mostly male but I wouldn’t disclose
any female readers/viewers. I will be using mostly male dominant fonts like big brash and
outspoken to perhaps show that my audience is predominantly male. Masculine colours
will probably be included like blacks and blues to once again satisfy my audience as I think
my audience will be male. Any social status is welcome to view my magazine, I don’t care
about the class of the person as long as they enjoy the content of my magazine. My project
will appeal to these people as the content doesn’t offend any ethnic background and people
of any class, as nothing offensive is included in the magazine.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
Legal & Ethical Considerations: I will not include any offensive material in my game as It’s
just not appropriate for readers to see. Although anyone younger than the age I have given,
they may find the magazine offensive as they may be frightened or scared with the images
shown in the magazine. Also some language used may be offensive not in particular
swears but words than some people may think are swears. Like mentioned above I will
almost definitely restrict younger people for viewing it as some scenes in the magazine is
inappropriate for the person to see. It will hopefully not offend any social groups, religious,
ethnicities as I personally will not seek out to offend anyone but the game or article may do,
so I will try and make sure that the games included do not offend anyone. I will ensure that I
will not offend anyone by ensuring that my articles include no offensive material and then
words used in my article are appropriate and not inappropriate. I will be including
characters, logos and names of existing products because I will potentially gathering news
of certain new gamesand interesting things about games that are already out and to do
that I need to have the names and logos of the games. My product won’t be sufficiently
different from existing products as it’s a gaming magazinesabout games. But it will
potentially be unique as it has all gaming systems included in one magazine, instead of
Xbox and PlayStation for example having different magazine. I’ll try to not get sued for
copyright as I will label these things as essential and ask the companies if I can use them.
Think about any offensive material you will include?
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
