Working Title: Gamers Unite
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Product’s Purpose: To entertain the viewer and give them a look at games to help them find
the perfect one for them.
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
Genre: Magazine
What sort of product is it
Content: My magazine will feature a review of a popular game series which goes by the
name of Total war as the main feature and will also include other strategic/simulation
games like Arma 3 and Insurgency. The magazine will show the gamesdown each side of
the cover and give a quick briefing on them and the stories about them along with the type
of game it is (genre). There will be info showing some of the ‘freebies’ offered to the buyer
and any demos inside. The double page spread (inside) will be an article about how total
war has progressed as a game series and what we as the consumer community would like
to see next from Creative Assembly. There will not be a colour scheme as there is no
specific console/Pc glorifying (green for Xbox/Blue for PlayStation).
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
Audience: My audience will hopefully be young and late teen malesand females who like
the strategy and simulation genres. My aimed psychographic is towards belongers. I will
make the magazine more personal and interactive with the fans. There will be sections
dedicated to getting the people’s opinions and areasin which the viewers can
communicate with the creators of games.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
Legal & Ethical Considerations: There will be no risky materialsin my final product, as I do
not want to create controversy within my magazine and create an unpopular vibe. Younger
people will not be restricted from reading my magazine asthere will be no demo disks with
possible 18+ games. There is no harm in reading about games. No groups will be effected
in any way as stated above and I will filter out any risky content that should arise at any
point. I am using logos, characters, and names of existing products and companies in my
work to show the platform each game is from.
I feel as if my product is going to differ enough to others due to the ‘new’ information that
will be given In it and considering all of the magazineswith similar content in them anyway.
Think about any offensive material you will include?
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?
