Assure Method- Day 2
1. A- Analyze Learner:
I will be teaching a Second Grade classroom with twenty students.
Twelve of those students will be girls and eight will be boys. They will
be from low-income families, three students are Hispanic, and two
students have mild ADD.
2. S- State Objective:
My students will be able to differentiate and describe the different
types of growth by many uses of technology and class discussion
within five days with 95% accuracy.
3. S- Select Methods, Media, and Materials:
In order for my students to learn this Unit Plan, I will incorporate
many learning styles to help them accomplish the task.
o QR: The QR will be used as an Activating Strategy to help get
the students’ minds on what the day’s lesson will be about. It is
a link to a song about growing up.
o Glogster: The Glogster will be shown and discussed in groups.
The students will talk about the different things on the Glogster
and why they are important.
2. o WebQuest: The students will go to the computers and work on
their WebQuest. It is about student cognitive development and
how that is important for physical growth and development.
This will be used as the assessment for the day.
4. U- Utilize the Media and Materials:
Before class, I will pull up the QR and the link that it goes to. I will also
pull up the Glogster and the page of the WebQuest to show them what
they will be doing.
5. R- Require Student Participation
Each day I will be teaching on Physical, and Cognitive Development.
Every technology used will talk about development in a certain way.
Some technologies will require student participation because they will
be used for assessments. I will start the class by showing the students
the QR and how it is a link to a video on YouTube. The link is a song
about growth. The students may listen to this twice to learn the song
and the motions. It may be used later on in the week. I will then ask
the students questions about Infants/Toddlers. They can talk about
when they were young or about children they know of this age. I will
then show the student the Glogster. They will get in groups and
discuss what is on the Gloster and why the certain pictures on it are
important. They will then go to the computer lab and do their
WebQuest. This will conclude the lesson for the day.
3. 6. E- Evaluate and Revise
Students will be evaluated by their answers to discussion questions in
class as well as the assignment they must complete after their
WebQuest. The WebQuest is for the students to do on their own, so I
will recognize how much they have learned that day. Students will not
be asked to do an assignment outside of class for Day 2.
