3. Which specific production tasks have you
enjoyed most this year?
• My Favourite production task was definitely the photography during the making of the
poster and magazine front cover. During taking photos for my magazine and poster and
was struggling to get the focus on the camera so my first few images were blurry and
out of focus. Then one of my teachers (Josh) came in and showed me how to get focus
and get a better image. Then my next few looked really good and I was very pleased
with how they looked. Then later on I went taking photos with 2 of my friends all day
and I took all the photos and it felt amazing. Its also something I think I might like
to do in the future because I enjoyed it so much.
• I also enjoyed the editing side of the projects including video, audio and animation.
I've always been interested in editing but I've never been able to do it properly as I
don’t have the software for it. So I've enjoyed having access to premiere pro and
being able to edit using it. It was fun to use the different transitions and effects
on premiere pro as it was something different from what I've done before.
4. What challenges have you faced this
year in your practical work?
• The most challenging project this year was definitely the audio project. This was
because my original idea didn’t work the way I wanted it to. I was going to use
foley to make lots of different sound effects to try and create a haunted house
story. However the foley tricks I used didn’t work and didn’t sound the way I
wanted it to. I only discovered this after I put them into premiere which was
very inconvenient. I had to respond to this by doing a different idea. In the end
I went into the woods with my friend and recorded edited and completed my audio
project. Another problem tat I had is I cant hear very well out of my left ear so
during editing I struggled to hear all the distant sounds which normally play in
the left side of headphones. I didn’t still complete it however but it was just
another slight problem that I had t deal with.
5. Which process do you think you have
made the most development in?
12. What do you see yourself doing at the
end of the course next year?
13. What research do you need to do in order to
explore your future progression options?
Editor's Notes
Consider 2-3 specific practical parts of your work this year [e.g. filming or editing, etc] and discuss why these have been your favoured parts of the course so far
Think about the work that has been most challenging this year [try and be specific when talking about tasks] and how you responded to it?
A process would be research or planning or time management, it could be a combination. Talk about what it is, how you feel you’ve developed and where this was most evident in the year
This is a technical skill like filming, editing, photo manipulation, designing adverts or using Photoshop – think of an example that shows your strength
This is looking at how you see yourself specialising as we move into the FMP and into Year 2
