2. App Logo
• For the design of the app logo I
wanted to incorporate the two things
the app was based around which is
music and of course the city of York. As
you can see from the final product I
have the York skyline going across the
bottom half of the square and then
hidden just behind it is an edited
version of a picture of Keith Moon who
was the drummer for the band The
Who. Perhaps the logo doesn’t 100%
target the audience I was going for
which is about 18 – 24 year olds but I
felt as if my music choice should be
portrayed within the project I was
given.
5. App concept
• The concept for my app is very simple. The player opens the app and is greeted
by a welcome as you will be able to see on the slide above. The player presses the
‘lets get answering…’ button and is then taken to a part in which they can choose
to start playing, look at their rewards they have gained or choose to view the
map. The actual concept of the app is the user has to go to the locations where
the app tells them and upon the arrival of the given destination they have to scan
a code in which the next question will be given and they have to answer correctly
in order to move on to the next location. The questions given are linked to that
location they are at and a certain musical artist who may have appeared there or
have some sort of connection to it. A blurred image of that artist will appear
above the question which acts as a sort of hint to the answer just so its not too
hard to answer. If the user manages to answer all answers correctly they will win
free tickets to a secret gig in York at a certain venue.
