3. Which specific production tasks have you
enjoyed most this year?
• I enjoyed the audio project, that was the most fun in my opinion. I enjoyed
making it seem like you’re in a different world if you close your eyes and just
think about the audio. I enjoyed the editing aspect of it more than other
aspects.
4. What challenges have you faced this
year in your practical work?
• I find the writing work one of the most difficult things I’ve faced this year – I
found it the most difficult as I dislike writing a lot and I rather would create
things more, the videogame project with the animation I found difficult too. I
disliked animating.
5. Which process do you think you have
made the most development in?
• I think my audio editing development has gotten better I enjoy editing audio a
lot more than I thought I would before actually engaging in editing audio. I also
think my research has gotten a little better at times.
6. Which technical skill do you think is you
strongest?
• I feel like editing audio and video are my strongest skills. Whenever I do
editing of video or audio I find myself genuinely enjoying it, I feel like these
skills have strengthened during the time I’ve been doing this course and id say
they’re my strongest skillset at the moment.
7. What do you think has been your best
project and why?
• My best project has definitely been my Audio Project. I loved creating it and it
overall was so fun. I think it’s actually one of the best projects I’ve ever
done. I loved it so much. I loved using adobe audition and I found it really easy
to use I also enjoyed the foley project, that was really fun also. I think my
foley and my audio project are my best so far.
8. Which project did you enjoy least and
why?
• The video game project – I didn’t find animating appealing whatsoever and I found
myself getting bored and feeling overworked because of my aspirations with the
project, it really wasn’t for me and I didn’t enjoy it.
9. How have you managed your time
effectively this year?
• With my audio project I managed my time really well I’d say, I put myself into my
studies and did lots and lots of research to do with the audio I wanted. I also
made a time plan with what to do and when to do it, the good thing about my audio
project is that I could create foley sound at home without having to lose time
getting equipment from college
11. What roles/specialism do you see
yourself working in on future projects?
• I want to further my career in video editing and maybe audio editing. I really
enjoy doing both, one day I want to be a YouTuber editor like issacwhy’s editor
or willne’s editor, I really look up to the edits they create and I want to be
just like them. To be able to do this I must do research on editing styles and
premiere pro and after effect, this will be fun though because I love learning
new stuff. I see myself being a YouTuber editor/ Maybe a streamer?
12. What do you see yourself doing at the
end of the course next year?
• I will most likely be doing something like editing a commentary video, that
sounds pretty fun to me. Or a trailer for a movie or short film. i feel the best
in those sorts of fields. I enjoy editing video and audio so these will be best
for me I think. I might ask my friends to act for me to make it seem more
personal for my creative freedom.
13. What research do you need to do in order to
explore your future progression options?
• I need to further my education in video editing, I know the basics but I want to
be able to be at a higher level, I also want to further my education in audio
editing. I feel like researching these will be fun as I love learning new things
about the things I'm personally interested in. I need to also search for job
opportunities in the video editor sector. I really want to succeed in my video
editing and I will do whatever it takes.
Editor's Notes
Consider 2-3 specific practical parts of your work this year [e.g. filming or editing, etc] and discuss why these have been your favoured parts of the course so far
Think about the work that has been most challenging this year [try and be specific when talking about tasks] and how you responded to it?
A process would be research or planning or time management, it could be a combination. Talk about what it is, how you feel you’ve developed and where this was most evident in the year
This is a technical skill like filming, editing, photo manipulation, designing adverts or using Photoshop – think of an example that shows your strength
This is looking at how you see yourself specialising as we move into the FMP and into Year 2
