3. Which specific production tasks have you
enjoyed most this year?
• Filming for my music video was a very fun part of my course, it was something I
have wanted to do, and have looked forward to doing, for a long time. Managing to
get out and put my vision into film was amazing and simply going around hunting
for spots to film was a lot of fun. Having small complications and hiccups taught
me how to prepare and gave me valuable information for any project going forth.
4. What challenges have you faced this
year in your practical work?
• Editing with premier for the soundscape task was difficult due to premier being a
video editor primarily. I found the software not nearly as in-depth as I was used
to with my experience using Cubase and logic. I had Complex and intricate plans
visions and ideas for the project, a hubris born of similar exploits with audio
in the past. Countering this was a swift solution, I used soundscape a free
online tool akin to audacity or Cubase. This allowed me to edit to a compromise
and I achieved a pleasing project result with a neat master and a solid
foundation mix.
5. Which process do you think you have
made the most development in?
Research: Before starting this course I was terrible at researching anything in a
professional structured manor, my skills in the field were primitive at best. I had
managed to improve my abilities to and agreeable novice level by the conclusion of
the initial few projects, by the halfway mark however I feel I reached stagnation
not really improving nor getting worse in any regard. During the adventure project
I worked on my bibliography skills and employed more of a uniform in my source
citing.
6. Which technical skill do you think is you
strongest?
• I feel the most confident in advertising. My adventure project had an in-depth
plan for advertising and manipulating the social media spaces it would be
released in. My advertisements were broken down into packages that complement
each other and exploit the human brain and stages of secondary socialisation. I
feel that although I enjoy my audio work and my filming my ability to sell these
products is vastly superior to my production, my – while limited- knowledge on
psychology and sociology has helped massively on my targeting and appeal in my
ads.
7. What do you think has been your best
project and why?
My adventure projects 1st half, the advertising. I think its my best work because I
haad the most fun on it and it came out really clean and professional looking
8. Which project did you enjoy least and
why?
• Audio project, It had so many complications and my the restrictions on the
project left me with no enthusiasm to complete the project, it still got done but
I didn’t have much of a vision for it and it was such a hassle to get it working.
9. How have you managed your time
effectively this year?
• I have not used my time effectively this year other than staying in at lunch some
times to keep my concentration going and keep the output and flow consistent.
12. What do you see yourself doing at the
end of the course next year?
13. What research do you need to do in order to
explore your future progression options?
Editor's Notes
Consider 2-3 specific practical parts of your work this year [e.g. filming or editing, etc] and discuss why these have been your favoured parts of the course so far
Think about the work that has been most challenging this year [try and be specific when talking about tasks] and how you responded to it?
A process would be research or planning or time management, it could be a combination. Talk about what it is, how you feel you’ve developed and where this was most evident in the year
This is a technical skill like filming, editing, photo manipulation, designing adverts or using Photoshop – think of an example that shows your strength
This is looking at how you see yourself specialising as we move into the FMP and into Year 2
