Allen Ginsberg Beat Generation Analysis
In and around the 1950s Allen Ginsberg, along with several other great poets interested in changing
social consciousness and defying conventional writing, became known as the Beat generation. Beat
poetry focuses on the battle against social conformity and literary tradition. These Beat poets, known
for their unconventional lifestyle, unorthodox political views, rowdy behavior, and experimental drug
use, caused a lot of controversy. In Ginsberg s Howl and Other Poems, Ginsberg employs a
particularly confrontational and crude writing style to challenge the heteronormative, nuclear driven
society that promotes the marginalisation and ostracisation of minorities and individuals whose
ideology does not agree with that of the rest of the nation. Ginsberg believes that American society
remains gravely repressed and his writing works to challenge that. Ginsberg, along with the other
poets of the beat generation, introduce all the social taboos of the time such as heterosexual as well as
homosexual sex, drugs, and addiction, into their writings. Ginsberg became one of the most influential
poets in literary history, preaching his personal truths and promoting the idea of breaking the mold of
the idealistic nuclear American society.
Bond 2
At the time Ginsberg began to write, this idea of the perfect family, (working father, stay at home
wife, kids and a dog), had been a widely spread idealistic way of life followed by the mass
mainstream population of America. Although equality of opportunity is central to the concept of the
American Dream, only those who fit the mold of the straight laced American man receive the privilege
of equal opportunity. Ginsberg believes this concept of the idealistic American Dream proceeds to do
nothing but harm minorities much like himself. Ginsberg saw the best minds of [his] generation
destroyed by madness... demanding instantaneous lobotomy... (1 69). The harmful and destructive
ideology of the great American dream remains engraved in our society dating all the way back to The
Bill of Rights, 1789, No person shall be... deprived of life, liberty, or property and Allen Ginsberg
strived to dismantle this falsely constructed ideology. Ginsberg uses his sexaulity as a prime

Why Has the Industrialization in the Nineteenth Century...
Napoleon Bonaparte s main aim is to keep himself in power by using social, economic, and political
means. Napoleon attempts to maintain his power through social policies. The Concordat of 1801 is an
agreement between the Pope and Napoleon which allows for the Catholic Churches to return to
France. This is significant because it allows for Napoleon to not only win over the people of France by
returning their religion to them, but the agreement also gives Napoleon easy access to spreading
propaganda. With the help of the church, Napoleon can also promote conscription and increase the
size of his army in order to maintain his control over a majority of Europe. Napoleon uses censorship
to hide or give false information to the people of France. With the help of the prefects in each
department, Napoleon essentially has total control of the information the people of France can or
cannot know, allowing him to maintain a positive persona in France. Napoleon recognizes that in
order to avoid another revolution and to maintain power, he must manipulate the society. Napoleon
attempts to use economic means to keep himself in power. First, Napoleon institutes the Continental
System in 1806 as an attempt to weaken Great Britain s economy. The Royal Navy is practically
undefeatable at this time and it is obvious that Great Britain rules the seas. Napoleon quickly discovers
he cannot defeat the island of Great Britain by attacking with his army, after his lose at the Battle of
Trafalgar,

San Francisco Is A Major City Of California And The United...
San francisco is a major city of California and the United States as a whole. A city with this much
power generally sets the score for other counties to follow. When San francisco undermines justice
with institutional biases, they set a dangerous example for others to follow. While San Francisco has
shown great strides to improve itself internally and externally, there are still major issues that need to
be addressed, specifically in their incarceration system. San Francisco has created a system where
minorities are more susceptible to being imprisoned due to the city s precarious handling of funds.
The San Francisco prison system hosted 1,556 citizens in the year 2013.[1] During that exact year,
56% of those citizens incarcerated were of African American descent, in a city where African
Americans make up a mere 6% of the total population.[1,2] Compare that to the city s majority race,
caucasians, who make up 41.6% of the city as a whole and accounted for only 22% percent of all
prisoners.[1,2] Looking at these statistics it could be assumed that racism is playing a role in this,
however there is one key factor that is so often lost when issues of race flare up. This factor is of
course, money.
San francisco has been the host of recent major technological booms which have brought increased
revenue into the city, but who s pockets is this money falling into? People often claim that police and
government officials target minorities, and while there is truth to this, would

Democratic Party:
The Democratic Party is considered a liberal party, has also been described by academics, politicians

The Major Components Of Street Sweeper
In my report, I will be discussing some of the major components of street sweeper and will be
explaining the function of each component. Some of the major features of street sweeper are Pick Up
Head As stated in Key Features (n.d.), street sweeper contains a very sharp feature which is a pick up
head which contains two attractive features in it. One is suction system and other is air blast. The main
motive of these systems is that it helps to remove debris from the streets. In addition to that, it has
another interesting feature in it which is skids that improves wear life of pick up head (para.1.). Figure
2. Pick Up Head attached to the street sweeper. Sources: Pick Up Head, n.d. The Pick up head also
contains another device which is knows as BAH that is only preferred during broom assisted sweeping
(para.2.). The broom is very long in size that helps during dust control. It has one positive thing that its
pressure can be adjusted according to our needs that helps to throw dirt from the streets into air.
Hopper Hopper has attractive and good features as compared to the pick up head. It has a smooth
dumping system in it that collects junk from the ground. The main advantage of hopper over pick up
head is that it does not need any telescoping hydraulic cylinders (para.4.) which is used for hoisting,
hydraulically controlled door latch assemblies (para.4.). Figure 3. Opening of Hopper in street

Analysis Of The Story Eveline By James Joyce
Eveline The story begins with a silver lining in a memory that deepens into a pit of depression The
narrator helps to describe her memories as Eveline, staring blankly out a window, wallows in her
conflicting feelings of adoration and isolation. Today in many places, what takes place in Dublin
during 1914 as common place family dynamics, can be recognized as a cyclical pattern of abuse
between a controlling and manipulative father, his demure and defenseless wife, and their helpless and
hopeful children. In the story Eveline written by James Joyce the main character is suffering from
symptoms of vicarious trauma and abuse, and although she recognizes, and fantasizes about the option
and possibility of a better life, ultimately she finds herself a victim of circumstance, frozen in time,
unable to make a decision, she is forced to watch her opportunity fade from her grasp. Eveline exhibits
the qualities of a young woman who has spent her life exposed to traumatic, systematic abuse. As she
looks out over the field of her childhood, reaching into the past to pull forward the memories of
friends and happiness, a foul taste creeps in to her mind of Her father [who] used often to hunt them in
out of the field with his blackthorn stick; (Joyce) and the author gives the first indicator that Eveline s
life has been little more than tragic. An abusive parent is bad enough, but the real despair she must feel
is driven home when Eveline s thoughts reveal the unthinkable: her

Marianne Moore s The Fish Essay
Marianne Moore s nature and artistic background contribute to her modernist style and is prominent in
her poem The Fish. Marianne Moore wrote in the 1930 s, a decade of change. Moore is characterized
as a writer who uses overall nature, art, life, modesty, and humor. Her writing is recognized by its
descriptions, and observations of people, places, animals, and art. Her poems reflect the relationship
between common and uncommon ( Marianne Moore Poetry Foundation). Marianne Moore s
biographical background contributes to her symbolic writings. Moore s mother is the person who most
inspired her. She came from a divorced home and lived with her mother and her grandfather. He was a
presbyterian pastor. Her father was absent in her life due to the fact that he was also institutionalized.
Moore s early jobs inspire the nature part of her writings. After college, she was in charge of the
commercial department of the United States Indian School at Carlisle. She taught subjects such as
bookkeeping and typing to young Indians. In 1918, she decided to move to New York where she
taught at a private school. Three years later she was an assistant at the Hudson Park branch of the New
York Public Library (Garrigue 194). Moore s early career choices to be a painter and interest in
biology influenced the scientific and artistic aspect of her poetry. She wanted to be a painter like
Carlos Williams. She decided to study medicine and caught an interest for biology. In an interview she

Seasonal Depression Research Papers
Baby, It s Not Just Cold Outside. A hot breeze dances through the fields, and the sun shines down with
golden rays of warmth. This sight is an everyday picture during the summer in Illinois, as well as
much of the grain belt of the United States. Tragically, however, there is also a different picture that is
all too common when the seasons change. The ground is muddy and saturated from days of rain. The
sun is being held captive behind grey and black storm clouds, and the wind is howling like a dark
menacing creature from a child s nightmare. This kind of weather change, while not uncommon, still
has an effect on many people. This effect is a medical problem that should not be ignored or joked
about. Seasonal Depression possesses real symptoms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When being medically treated there are multiple factors that go into finding the correct treatment. The
first, most common type of treatment, is light therapy. This consists of sitting a few feet away from a
light box that mimics natural sunlight (¨Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)¨). Light therapy is usually
the first line of treatment for all cases of SAD. People using this treatment can feel better in a matter
of days, but are still encouraged to continue use until spring time when natural light is more available
(¨Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Topic¨). A second common treatment is medication. A doctor can
prescribe a long lasting anti depressant before one s symptoms begin to take root (¨Seasonal Affective
Disorder (SAD)¨). By treating before the effects set in this is also a way of prevention. The third and
final type of treatment is talk therapy, or psychotherapy. By going to therapy sessions like this one will
learn how to cope with SAD. It is important to identify negative thoughts that might make a person
feel worse and helping them change their thought process to make them better (¨Seasonal Affective
Disorder (SAD)¨). Of course, these are just treatments for SAD after someone is diagnosed. Outside of
medical treatments, there are many ways of preventing SAD at one s own

The iodine uptake with hyperthyroidism is greater than normal. This means that the body produces too

a. body temperature
Hypothyroidism can affect the body temperature because it slows down the metabolism. This causes
the energy produced to be less. With that being said, the bodies functions slow down so the body
temperature drops.
b. heart rate
Hypothyroidism decreases the heart rate. This is because the body functions slow down. When the
body functions slow down, the heart doesn t need to work as hard and as fast to maintain homeostasis.
4. State how hyperthyroidism affects each of the following and describe the mechanism by which this

The body temperature is affected by hyperthyroidism. The body temperature rises because the
metabolism is sped up. There is more energy that is produced and the organs in the body are

As the number of carbon atoms is increased the boiling point of the alkane is also increased.
Beginning at 1 carbon atom, the boiling point was 164 degrees. As another carbon atom was added,
this boiling point increased. This continued through to 10 carbon atoms which had a boiling point of
174 degrees. In the second graph, it was found that the trend is decreasing. As the number of carbon
atoms is increased the melting point of the alkane decreased. Beginning at 1 carbon atom, the melting
point was 182 degrees. As another carbon atom was added, this melting point decreased. This
continued through to 10 carbon atoms which had a melting point of 30 degrees. Since the two alcohols
used in this practical were Methanol and Propanol, the boiling point of those two alkanes were
focussed on. According to the graph and table, methane had 1 carbon atom and a boiling point of 164
degrees, while propane had 3 carbon atoms and a boiling point of 42 degrees. When testing the boiling
points of these alcohols in the practical experiment, it was found that alcohol A had a boiling point of
68 degrees and alcohol B had a boiling point of 99 degrees. These results proved that methane was
alcohol A and propane was alcohol B. This was determined as alcohol A had a lower boiling compared
to alcohol B. When comparing the boiling point of methane and propane, methane had the lower

How Is Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead
Parody, Pastiche and Their Contribution to Configuring the Theme of Identity in Tom Stoppard s play
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is written by Tom Stoppard. It is a parody for the
Shakespearean play, Hamlet. The play starts with the two major characters, Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern flipping a coin. Rosencrantz always won the game and Guildenstern was trying to
understand the laws of mathematics. Even from the beginning of the play we are told that Rosencrantz
and Guildenstern are called Ros and Guil. This fact meant that they are pop culture representants and
it is a reduction of the Shakespearean play. From the title it can be seen the fact that they were dead

It satirized the Elizabethan play through characters and how they act and even through the fact that
now the play centers on Ros and Guil. When the other Shakespearean characters are introduced, the do
not appear like in Hamlet , but they are puppets, without life, or personality. They did not have much
significance in the play. Now they are minor characters which used the two main characters for their
own purpose. Gertrude wanted to understand what happened to her son and Claudius also used them
to kill Hamlet. Ros and Guil were their servants because they responded to the call of Claudius and
Gertrude. Hamlet was also a minor character here. Like in Shakespeare s play he followed his own
interest, but here Ros and Guil were sent to understand his plans. The parody here came from the fact
that the most major characters from Shakespeare s play are now minor and the minor characters are
major. The tragic effect from Hamlet is now given to clowns, Ros and Guil, which are stupid
characters; they do not know who they are. It is an exaggeration of the human condition and this
makes a play a tragicomedy. Like Hamlet tried to understand the meaning of life and death in the
original play, now Ros and Guil tried to do

Childhood Malnutrition Research Paper
Childhood Malnutrition Jonathan Sacks stated Close to a billion people one eighth of the world s
population still live in hunger. Each year 2 million children die through malnutrition. This is
happening at a time when doctors in Britain are warning of the spread of obesity. We are eating too
much while others starve. Severe acute malnutrition affects approximately 13 million children under
the age of 5 and is associated with 1 2 million preventable child deaths each year (Collins, S. 2007).
This growing global problem needs to be brought to attention due to the fact that each year many
children become decease from not getting the proper medical attention they are in need of. Child
malnutrition is also considered a part of child abuse by neglect, which is illegal in the United States of
America. Child abuse by neglect is difficult to diagnose when it is not associated with physical
violence but, neglect is in fact involved with food restriction (Piercecchi Marti, M., Louis Borrione,
C., Bartoli, C., Sanvoisin, A., Panuel, M., Pelissier Alicot, A., Leonetti, G. 2006). By definition,
malnutrition is the lack of proper nutrition, caused by not having enough to eat, not eating enough of
the right things, or being unable to use the food that one does eat. Malnutrition is a global economic

Reflection On The Unexamined Life Is Not Worth Living
Through the examples of Oedipus and Socrates, the saying the unexamined life is not worth living
proves true in three ways: first, to live a life full of discovery is a direct calling from God; second, an
examined life leads to humbleness; and lastly, a life spent in investigation will constantly be in pursuit
of truth. A vital motive for pursuing an examined lifestyle is if a command to do so comes from the
higher power one believes in. From a Christian perspective God rules as the higher power; however,
from Socrates outlook the Greek gods dominated as the higher power. From a Christian standpoint it is
clearly a command from God to live an examined life. Psalm 111:2 states Great are the works of the
Lord, studied by all who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just as Socrates promptly gratified the wish of his god, humanity should be striving to fulfill the
wishes of our omnipotent Creator. In both the Apology and Oedipus a key comparable quality is the
humility shown by both Socrates and Oedipus. The humility they display originates from their
discovery of the depravity of humanity. In Socrates case, he first discerned the nature of man when he
began his quest of finding true wisdom. He found that the men he thought to be truly wise, appeared
wise to many people, and especially to himself, but he was not (Plato 26). Socrates stumbled on the
vice that fells much of humanity: pride. As Socrates continued to pursue his search for wisdom, time
and time again he was disappointed by those he formerly thought had the highest reputation because
they were nearly the most deficient (Plato 26). After unearthing this truth Socrates had two paths he
could journey down. The first would be one of pride in himself, for indeed he did discover that he had
more wisdom than most. The second path was one of humility in that he realized that just like
everyone else, he was fallible and his wisdom could err. He chose the second path, and by doing so he
became the wiser. For then he discovered the the oracle sent to him by Apollo was sent for him to
ascertain that This man among you, mortals, is wisest who, like Socrates, understands that his wisdom

Alcoholism in Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire
Alcoholism s in A Streetcar Named Desire There is a great deal of alcoholism in the play. Blanche
DuBois drinks often and drinks in excess. Alcohol abuse further distinguishes Blanche s character
because in the 1940s, it was atypical for women to drink so much, and even more rare for women to
be so publically alcoholic as Blanche. Those behaviors were stereotypically reserved for women.
Blanche is very much aware of her problems and her social isolation. She uses her alcoholism as a
way to escape from facing herself directly as well as to escape from other aspects of her reality that
she perceives too difficult to bear or change.
One of the memorable lines from the play of Blanche s is: Whoever you are, I ve always depended on
the kindness of strangers. Blanche could be using the world kindness in an ironic way; from the kind
of treatment Blanche desires and receives, it is likely that she has been treated the same and worse
from other men (and women). Another take on the word kindness in that famous line is that perhaps
she must really depend on strangers to be kind because her friends and family do not show her
kindness. Blanche drinks because of how pessimistically she perceives herself and perceives her life.
She fears and wishes to forget her past, so she drinks in the present, but drinks to the point where she
extinguishes any chance for her future.

The existing setup make use of the full spectrum of the visible light for data transmission. But the

wherein only the spectrum having longer wavelength are used for data transmission in addition to the

Propagation of light through an optical fiber is based on the principle of total internal reflection. Due

Atticus Finch Symbolism
To Kill A Mockingbird is a classic story of growing up, racial discrimination, and symbolism. Harper
Lee has written a story that has gone down in history and will never be forgotten. In To Kill A

young life in sleepy Maycomb, Alabama. Her brother Jem Finch and friend Dill try to meet the
secluded and mysterious neighbor. Meanwhile, her father, Atticus Finch is a lawyer that takes on a

he did. Spoke as nicely as he knew how. (61). Miss Maudie discusses her view on Boo Radley, which
is that what is told to the children about Boo Radley is not the truth. In reality, he is a very nice man
who would never hurt anybody. The reason why Boo Radley stays in his house is merely because he
wants to. He wants to be left alone, similar to a Mockingbird, who should just be left alone. In the
book, Heck Tate tries to convince Atticus that exposing Boo Radley for killing Bob Ewell is wrong.
He says, ...All the ladies in Maycomb includin my wife d be knocking on his door bringing angel food

about to have it on my head. If it was any other man it d be different. But not this man, Mr. Finch.

Bob Ewell. This is a

Women And Women s Political Status
Traditionally, politics has been a gendered occupation. Men and women have been socially
constructed to believe only men are capable of political representation. The problem lies within an
institutional bias, where unnatural distinctions have been put in place from a young age. In New
Zealand, the presence and contribution of women have been pivotal to the make up of contemporary
party politics. Achieving parliamentary recognition and political representation peaked during the
1970s when the country was experiencing large changes in its economic and social environment.
Through activism and pressure groups, women were able to seek recognition in New Zealand s
political domain. The change to Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) eased the access of different
political groups to parliament, improving the representation of minority groups such as women that
have been under represented in politics. Proportional representation offered new opportunities in terms
of policy change through women s political participation. It has, however, been argued that the
structure of proportional representation has been a hindrance toward a significant step forward for
women s political participation. This essay will discuss to what extent the contribution of women
through time, coupled with the shift to a new electoral system in a changing social environment, has
been a step forward for women s political participation in New Zealand party politics.

Punk Rock Revolution
Despite the internal turmoil in the punk movement, punk rock made several things clear to
international audiences. Punk Rock, in its subculture, managed to break down many barriers of
expression and language. It made an indentation in the commercial music industry. It provided a fresh
alternative to a boring, stagnant music scene. But most of all, punk s legacy lies in its introduction of
self employment and activism, most essential to Britain at the time. It illustrated that anyone can do it
themselves, without reliance on the commercial media or the luxury of having financial abundance.
Against the backdrop of mass consumer conformity, the punk rock movement made a statement of
individuality that was heard worldwide. Through the words ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The developers of the game made it so you can move anywhere, and climb everything. You can make
your way roof by roof, or you can take the risky path with zombies in the streets, but either way the

The game is mostly based on melee weapons, and you don t get a gun until almost the end of the
game. This doesn t bother me much, considering the thousands of different combinations you can have
on the weapon. You can choose from many weapons and you gain more choices as you level up your
character. The weapons in the game do crack and rupture. So you have to repair them, meaning no
weapon is infinite. There are also throwing weapons including the Molotov or the Throwing Star
which is very useful at times. The developers of Dying Light couldn t help it to add in secret weapons
such as the Excalibur , which has made its way into the Dead Island series as well.
Dying Light is one of the zombie games the aren t repetitive. Dying Light can be repugnant and

Description Of A Programmer Productivity Multitasking

Reading 1: Using Task Context to Improve Programmer Productivity Multitasking is good when it
comes to computer programs, letting them do more with less. But when computer programmers start
multitasking, productivity flies out the door. Programmers have to keep a lot of things in their heads at
once, and the more they remember, the more productive they are. A programmer coding at full throttle
is keeping zillions of things in their head at once. Everything from names of variables, data structures,
important APIs, the names of utility functions that they call a lot, even the name of the subdirectory
where they store their source code. On top of that, as applications have become more collaborative,
complex, modular, and distributed, developers are having to track an increasing number of tasks and
deal with more interruptions from the people with whom they re collaborating. As a result, they re
multitasking more frequently and becoming less productive. Keeping programmers productive in
these fragmented work environments is a challenge for large software developers as well as for IT
shops developing for end users. In this paper, the authors present a mechanism that captures, models,
and persists the elements and relations relevant to a task. They show how these task context model
reduces information overload and focuses a programmer s work by filtering and ranking the
information presented by the development environment. Operations

Brideshead Revisited Essay
There is a snake in Eden; corruption in paradise. To what extent do you agree that the Brideshead
estate embodies a corrupted paradise in the novel? June 2010 Within the context of pastoral literature,
change is typically seen as a destructive force, intrinsic with the movement away from a harmony with
the natural world towards modernisation and corruption. In Brideshead Revisited the same pattern
appears to be followed; moving from the peaceful harmony of Sebastian and Charles life in Oxford
into corruption and turmoil or the shifting power balance between the social classes, from the nobility
to the lower classes. However, change is not exclusively a negative force in the novel.

Waugh describes their first encounter with the girls at May Mayfield s as a sickly child and Death s
Head , names foreshadowing the downfall and deterioration that will result. It is as a result of this
night that Sebastian is arrested and tried for drunk driving, and introduces them to the realities of adult
life. It is because of this episode that the Marchmain family are shamed in the newspaper, perhaps
worsening Lady Marchmains over reaction to Sebastian s drinking later in the novel. This illustrates
clearly how even in these youthful days that Charles cherishes so much, there was chaos which
corrupted the serene life with Sebastian which he chooses not to dwell on.
Waugh presents corruption in terms of the hierarchy of society, with the nobility exclusively
privileged to positions of power, as nought but as negative through his portrayal of Hooper. Charles
states in the prologue that Hooper is a symbol to me of Young Britain ; notably Hooper is not
presented as an overly inspiring, promising or likeable character. The use of young has connotations of
the working class were just coming of age and beginning to have the means to hold positions of power
and influence, as well as suggesting a major change in the Britain; an old way of life has been left to
be replaced by a new one. It could be argued that Charles is presenting the traditional world as being
corrupted with the changing, modernised world.

Lacunae of Present Day Drug Delivery System
Some of the serious lacunae in the current drug delivery systems are as follows:
a. A reduced loading and therapeutic effect due to partial degradation of the drug before it reaches its
destination is a major concern. For example, a drug administered orally may undergo changes in the
stomach due to the action of gastric enzymes. Drugs administered through enteral routes undergo a
first pass effect, which is the term used for the hepatic metabolism of a pharmacological agent when it
is absorbed from the gut and delivered to the liver via the portal circulation. These processes lead to
premature drug loss due to drug metabolism and rapid clearance from the body.
b. A lack of targeting ability is yet another major disadvantage of many drugs. When a drug is
administered parenterally, it is distributed to all parts of the human body through the bloodstream,
rather than to the specific target organ which needs the pharmacological treatment. Biochemical and
physiological barriers of certain organs also limit drug delivery to the specified organ, like the human

Reflection Of My Family History
What I am today is the reflection of my family s history. History of endeavors, pains, failures and
growth. One evening, I was talking to my grandma and she started telling about our family. At first, it
seemed quite boring, but ended up in tears and made me learn the most important lesson of my life. It
was quite a deep thing to realize for a kid but fortunately and eventually I understood. It started with
my dad s childhood. After my grandfather suffered health problems, at a very young age of 10, my dad
had to take the charge of his family because that time my family didn t had money even for bread. My
dad worked at a bookstore from morning till evening and after the long day of work. He could earn
just about to fill their stomachs. But after my father, he had one brother and three sisters and their
education and despite being a lady who were not usually allowed to earn back then, my grandma
started working for VDC. Sadly, in the Nepalese Indian societies, people aren t judged keeping their
hard work, talents in the mind. And, those who want to grow are pulled backwards due to jealousy. In
time of need nobody showed up, and helping seemed bragging only. After all endeavors, striving and
thriving, today what we are up to is the result of the sacrifice of my grandma and my dad s childhood;
However, with our heads high, we are proud, and are happy to have a self made life and respect in the
society. Though, I was not a part of what happened, but I understand my part of

The history and significance
Not long ago, the UAE was a land of desert inhabited by proud and resourceful nomadic Bedouin
tribes, fishing villages and date farms. Abu Dhabi consisted of several hundred palm huts (barasti)
huts, a few coral buildings and the Ruler s Fort. Situated along the creek, Dubai was a trading hub,
providing a safe haven before the Straits of Hormuz and beyond. Life today in the Emirates bears little
resemblance to that of 40 years ago.
Parts of the UAE were settled as far back as the 3rd millennium BC and its early history fits the
nomadic, herding and fishing pattern typical of the broader region. The Bedouin tribe was the
principal building block of UAE society. Bedouin, which means desert dweller, lived in varied terrain

The Pros And Cons Of The Prohibition Era
The Prohibition Era, 1920 1933, was a time of turmoil and conflict as the ban of alcohol brought with
it the growth of organized crime in United States. The nationwide prohibition of alcohol was
introduced to solve social issues and most significantly, lower crime and corruption. Initially
established due to nationwide Temperance movements stating that banning alcohol would decrease
crime, however the banning of alcohol led to increased organized crime. Organized crime in America
grew during Prohibition due to the mafia, gangs and the mob utilizing the public demand for alcohol
for their own economic gain, bootlegging alcohol, using extortion and violence, all in is larger

What Is The Memory Consumption, Look On Convolution Layers...
To analyze the memory consumption, look on convolution layers activity. A cache simulator used in
virtual computational structure to measure the memory bandwidth without any assumption that it is
capable of processing Tn neurons with Ti synapses each every cycle. The cache hierarchy is inspired
by Intel Core i7: L1 is 32KB, 64 byte line, 8 way; the optional L2 is 2MB, 64 byte, 8 way. Here the
caches have enough banks/ports to serve Tn _ 4 bytes for input neurons, and Tn_Ti_4 bytes for
synapses. For large Tn; Ti, the cost of such caches can be exorbitant, here it can be used Tn = Ti = 16.

As expected, tiling drastically reduces the memory bandwidth requirements of input neurons, and
those of output neurons increase, but slightly. The memory behavior of layers is now dominated by
synapses. In any perceptron layer, all synapses are usually exclusive, and so there is no chance to
reuse the information within the layer. The synapses can be reused across the network invocations that
means, for each new input data existed to the neural network. So a suitably large L2 can be stored all
network synapses and take advantage of that locality. In case of DNNs with private kernels, this is not
possible as the total number of synapses are in the tens or hundreds of millions (the largest network to
date has a billion synapses [18]). Though, for both CNNs and DNNs where kernel is shared, the total
number of synapses ranges in the millions, which is within the reach of an L2 cache. Develop the case
where reuse across network invocations is possible by considering only the perceptron layer; so, the
total bandwidth requirements are now drastically reduced. Convolutional Layers : assume the 2 D

  • 2. Allen Ginsberg Beat Generation Analysis In and around the 1950s Allen Ginsberg, along with several other great poets interested in changing social consciousness and defying conventional writing, became known as the Beat generation. Beat poetry focuses on the battle against social conformity and literary tradition. These Beat poets, known for their unconventional lifestyle, unorthodox political views, rowdy behavior, and experimental drug use, caused a lot of controversy. In Ginsberg s Howl and Other Poems, Ginsberg employs a particularly confrontational and crude writing style to challenge the heteronormative, nuclear driven society that promotes the marginalisation and ostracisation of minorities and individuals whose ideology does not agree with that of the rest of the nation. Ginsberg believes that American society remains gravely repressed and his writing works to challenge that. Ginsberg, along with the other poets of the beat generation, introduce all the social taboos of the time such as heterosexual as well as homosexual sex, drugs, and addiction, into their writings. Ginsberg became one of the most influential poets in literary history, preaching his personal truths and promoting the idea of breaking the mold of the idealistic nuclear American society. Bond 2 At the time Ginsberg began to write, this idea of the perfect family, (working father, stay at home wife, kids and a dog), had been a widely spread idealistic way of life followed by the mass mainstream population of America. Although equality of opportunity is central to the concept of the American Dream, only those who fit the mold of the straight laced American man receive the privilege of equal opportunity. Ginsberg believes this concept of the idealistic American Dream proceeds to do nothing but harm minorities much like himself. Ginsberg saw the best minds of [his] generation destroyed by madness... demanding instantaneous lobotomy... (1 69). The harmful and destructive ideology of the great American dream remains engraved in our society dating all the way back to The Bill of Rights, 1789, No person shall be... deprived of life, liberty, or property and Allen Ginsberg strived to dismantle this falsely constructed ideology. Ginsberg uses his sexaulity as a prime ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Why Has the Industrialization in the Nineteenth Century... Napoleon Bonaparte s main aim is to keep himself in power by using social, economic, and political means. Napoleon attempts to maintain his power through social policies. The Concordat of 1801 is an agreement between the Pope and Napoleon which allows for the Catholic Churches to return to France. This is significant because it allows for Napoleon to not only win over the people of France by returning their religion to them, but the agreement also gives Napoleon easy access to spreading propaganda. With the help of the church, Napoleon can also promote conscription and increase the size of his army in order to maintain his control over a majority of Europe. Napoleon uses censorship to hide or give false information to the people of France. With the help of the prefects in each department, Napoleon essentially has total control of the information the people of France can or cannot know, allowing him to maintain a positive persona in France. Napoleon recognizes that in order to avoid another revolution and to maintain power, he must manipulate the society. Napoleon attempts to use economic means to keep himself in power. First, Napoleon institutes the Continental System in 1806 as an attempt to weaken Great Britain s economy. The Royal Navy is practically undefeatable at this time and it is obvious that Great Britain rules the seas. Napoleon quickly discovers he cannot defeat the island of Great Britain by attacking with his army, after his lose at the Battle of Trafalgar, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. San Francisco Is A Major City Of California And The United... San francisco is a major city of California and the United States as a whole. A city with this much power generally sets the score for other counties to follow. When San francisco undermines justice with institutional biases, they set a dangerous example for others to follow. While San Francisco has shown great strides to improve itself internally and externally, there are still major issues that need to be addressed, specifically in their incarceration system. San Francisco has created a system where minorities are more susceptible to being imprisoned due to the city s precarious handling of funds. The San Francisco prison system hosted 1,556 citizens in the year 2013.[1] During that exact year, 56% of those citizens incarcerated were of African American descent, in a city where African Americans make up a mere 6% of the total population.[1,2] Compare that to the city s majority race, caucasians, who make up 41.6% of the city as a whole and accounted for only 22% percent of all prisoners.[1,2] Looking at these statistics it could be assumed that racism is playing a role in this, however there is one key factor that is so often lost when issues of race flare up. This factor is of course, money. San francisco has been the host of recent major technological booms which have brought increased revenue into the city, but who s pockets is this money falling into? People often claim that police and government officials target minorities, and while there is truth to this, would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Colombia Democratic Party: The Democratic Party is considered a liberal party, has also been described by academics, politicians and even the American general public as progressive and center left. However, the reality is that it is a party with an ideological divergence with different ideological sectors as the conservative center right, through the center, classical liberalism, social liberalism, social democracy, trade union, labor, progressive and left sectors. Representative: Abraham Lincoln: Lawyer and American politician who was the sixteenth president of the United States (1861 1865). Always evoked as the president who abolished slavery, Abraham Lincoln is one of the most admired figures in American history; the honesty, the strength of spirit and the depth of his thought and his convictions, the patent in his writings and speeches, the outstanding among the virtues of a statesman and the performance was not without hesitation. Unfortunately, when Lincoln assumed that the presidency was reaching its culmination a national crisis of the beginning of the century: the confrontation between the dynamics and modern industrial societies of the Northern States, which rejected slavery, and the aristocracy of the southern landowners, owner of immense plantations that employed a million slaves, and saw in the suppression of slavery the end of their way of life. • 6. The Major Components Of Street Sweeper In my report, I will be discussing some of the major components of street sweeper and will be explaining the function of each component. Some of the major features of street sweeper are Pick Up Head As stated in Key Features (n.d.), street sweeper contains a very sharp feature which is a pick up head which contains two attractive features in it. One is suction system and other is air blast. The main motive of these systems is that it helps to remove debris from the streets. In addition to that, it has another interesting feature in it which is skids that improves wear life of pick up head (para.1.). Figure 2. Pick Up Head attached to the street sweeper. Sources: Pick Up Head, n.d. The Pick up head also contains another device which is knows as BAH that is only preferred during broom assisted sweeping (para.2.). The broom is very long in size that helps during dust control. It has one positive thing that its pressure can be adjusted according to our needs that helps to throw dirt from the streets into air. • 7. Analysis Of The Story Eveline By James Joyce Eveline The story begins with a silver lining in a memory that deepens into a pit of depression The narrator helps to describe her memories as Eveline, staring blankly out a window, wallows in her conflicting feelings of adoration and isolation. Today in many places, what takes place in Dublin during 1914 as common place family dynamics, can be recognized as a cyclical pattern of abuse between a controlling and manipulative father, his demure and defenseless wife, and their helpless and hopeful children. In the story Eveline written by James Joyce the main character is suffering from symptoms of vicarious trauma and abuse, and although she recognizes, and fantasizes about the option and possibility of a better life, ultimately she finds herself a victim of circumstance, frozen in time, unable to make a decision, she is forced to watch her opportunity fade from her grasp. Eveline exhibits the qualities of a young woman who has spent her life exposed to traumatic, systematic abuse. As she looks out over the field of her childhood, reaching into the past to pull forward the memories of friends and happiness, a foul taste creeps in to her mind of Her father [who] used often to hunt them in out of the field with his blackthorn stick; (Joyce) and the author gives the first indicator that Eveline s life has been little more than tragic. An abusive parent is bad enough, but the real despair she must feel is driven home when Eveline s thoughts reveal the unthinkable: her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This sight is an everyday picture during the summer in Illinois, as well as much of the grain belt of the United States. Tragically, however, there is also a different picture that is all too common when the seasons change. The ground is muddy and saturated from days of rain. The sun is being held captive behind grey and black storm clouds, and the wind is howling like a dark menacing creature from a child s nightmare. This kind of weather change, while not uncommon, still has an effect on many people. This effect is a medical problem that should not be ignored or joked about. Seasonal Depression possesses real symptoms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When being medically treated there are multiple factors that go into finding the correct treatment. The first, most common type of treatment, is light therapy. This consists of sitting a few feet away from a light box that mimics natural sunlight (¨Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)¨). Light therapy is usually the first line of treatment for all cases of SAD. People using this treatment can feel better in a matter of days, but are still encouraged to continue use until spring time when natural light is more available (¨Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Topic¨). A second common treatment is medication. A doctor can prescribe a long lasting anti depressant before one s symptoms begin to take root (¨Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)¨). By treating before the effects set in this is also a way of prevention. The third and final type of treatment is talk therapy, or psychotherapy. By going to therapy sessions like this one will learn how to cope with SAD. It is important to identify negative thoughts that might make a person feel worse and helping them change their thought process to make them better (¨Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)¨). Even from the beginning of the play we are told that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are called Ros and Guil. Now they are minor characters which used the two main characters for their own purpose. Gertrude wanted to understand what happened to her son and Claudius also used them to kill Hamlet. Ros and Guil were their servants because they responded to the call of Claudius and Gertrude. Hamlet was also a minor character here. Each year 2 million children die through malnutrition. This is happening at a time when doctors in Britain are warning of the spread of obesity. We are eating too much while others starve. Severe acute malnutrition affects approximately 13 million children under the age of 5 and is associated with 1 2 million preventable child deaths each year (Collins, S. 2007). This growing global problem needs to be brought to attention due to the fact that each year many children become decease from not getting the proper medical attention they are in need of. Child malnutrition is also considered a part of child abuse by neglect, which is illegal in the United States of America. Child abuse by neglect is difficult to diagnose when it is not associated with physical violence but, neglect is in fact involved with food restriction (Piercecchi Marti, M., Louis Borrione, C., Bartoli, C., Sanvoisin, A., Panuel, M., Pelissier Alicot, A., Leonetti, G. 2006). Reflection On The Unexamined Life Is Not Worth Living Through the examples of Oedipus and Socrates, the saying the unexamined life is not worth living proves true in three ways: first, to live a life full of discovery is a direct calling from God; second, an examined life leads to humbleness; and lastly, a life spent in investigation will constantly be in pursuit of truth. A vital motive for pursuing an examined lifestyle is if a command to do so comes from the higher power one believes in. From a Christian perspective God rules as the higher power; however, from Socrates outlook the Greek gods dominated as the higher power. From a Christian standpoint it is clearly a command from God to live an examined life. Psalm 111:2 states Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just as Socrates promptly gratified the wish of his god, humanity should be striving to fulfill the wishes of our omnipotent Creator. In both the Apology and Oedipus a key comparable quality is the humility shown by both Socrates and Oedipus. The humility they display originates from their discovery of the depravity of humanity. In Socrates case, he first discerned the nature of man when he began his quest of finding true wisdom. He found that the men he thought to be truly wise, appeared wise to many people, and especially to himself, but he was not (Plato 26). Socrates stumbled on the vice that fells much of humanity: pride. As Socrates continued to pursue his search for wisdom, time and time again he was disappointed by those he formerly thought had the highest reputation because they were nearly the most deficient (Plato 26). After unearthing this truth Socrates had two paths he could journey down. The first would be one of pride in himself, for indeed he did discover that he had more wisdom than most. The second path was one of humility in that he realized that just like everyone else, he was fallible and his wisdom could err. He chose the second path, and by doing so he became the wiser. For then he discovered the the oracle sent to him by Apollo was sent for him to ascertain that This man among you, mortals, is wisest who, like Socrates, understands that his wisdom is ... Blanche DuBois drinks often and drinks in excess. Alcohol abuse further distinguishes Blanche s character because in the 1940s, it was atypical for women to drink so much, and even more rare for women to be so publically alcoholic as Blanche. Those behaviors were stereotypically reserved for women. Blanche is very much aware of her problems and her social isolation. She uses her alcoholism as a way to escape from facing herself directly as well as to escape from other aspects of her reality that she perceives too difficult to bear or change. One of the memorable lines from the play of Blanche s is: Whoever you are, I ve always depended on the kindness of strangers. Blanche could be using the world kindness in an ironic way; from the kind of treatment Blanche desires and receives, it is likely that she has been treated the same and worse from other men (and women). Another take on the word kindness in that famous line is that perhaps she must really depend on strangers to be kind because her friends and family do not show her kindness. Blanche drinks because of how pessimistically she perceives herself and perceives her life. She fears and wishes to forget her past, so she drinks in the present, but drinks to the point where she extinguishes any chance for her future. Men and women have been socially constructed to believe only men are capable of political representation. The problem lies within an institutional bias, where unnatural distinctions have been put in place from a young age. In New Zealand, the presence and contribution of women have been pivotal to the make up of contemporary party politics. Achieving parliamentary recognition and political representation peaked during the 1970s when the country was experiencing large changes in its economic and social environment. Through activism and pressure groups, women were able to seek recognition in New Zealand s political domain. The change to Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) eased the access of different political groups to parliament, improving the representation of minority groups such as women that have been under represented in politics. Proportional representation offered new opportunities in terms of policy change through women s political participation. It has, however, been argued that the structure of proportional representation has been a hindrance toward a significant step forward for women s political participation. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The developers of the game made it so you can move anywhere, and climb everything. You can make your way roof by roof, or you can take the risky path with zombies in the streets, but either way the movement of the game is thrilling. The game is mostly based on melee weapons, and you don t get a gun until almost the end of the game. This doesn t bother me much, considering the thousands of different combinations you can have on the weapon. You can choose from many weapons and you gain more choices as you level up your character. The weapons in the game do crack and rupture. So you have to repair them, meaning no weapon is infinite. There are also throwing weapons including the Molotov or the Throwing Star which is very useful at times. The developers of Dying Light couldn t help it to add in secret weapons such as the Excalibur , which has made its way into the Dead Island series as well. Dying Light is one of the zombie games the aren t repetitive. Dying Light can be repugnant and gruesome at times, but the storyline, the movement, and the weapons make the game extremely entertaining. • 28. Description Of A Programmer Productivity Multitasking CTTC 10 Name : Ambika Karanth PID : ambik89 Reading 1: Using Task Context to Improve Programmer Productivity Multitasking is good when it comes to computer programs, letting them do more with less. But when computer programmers start multitasking, productivity flies out the door. Programmers have to keep a lot of things in their heads at once, and the more they remember, the more productive they are. A programmer coding at full throttle is keeping zillions of things in their head at once. Everything from names of variables, data structures, important APIs, the names of utility functions that they call a lot, even the name of the subdirectory where they store their source code. On top of that, as applications have become more collaborative, complex, modular, and distributed, developers are having to track an increasing number of tasks and deal with more interruptions from the people with whom they re collaborating. As a result, they re multitasking more frequently and becoming less productive. Keeping programmers productive in these fragmented work environments is a challenge for large software developers as well as for IT shops developing for end users. In this paper, the authors present a mechanism that captures, models, and persists the elements and relations relevant to a task. They show how these task context model reduces information overload and focuses a programmer s work by filtering and ranking the information presented by the development environment. Operations ... • 29. Brideshead Revisited Essay There is a snake in Eden; corruption in paradise. To what extent do you agree that the Brideshead estate embodies a corrupted paradise in the novel? June 2010 Within the context of pastoral literature, change is typically seen as a destructive force, intrinsic with the movement away from a harmony with the natural world towards modernisation and corruption. In Brideshead Revisited the same pattern appears to be followed; moving from the peaceful harmony of Sebastian and Charles life in Oxford into corruption and turmoil or the shifting power balance between the social classes, from the nobility to the lower classes. However, change is not exclusively a negative force in the novel. The title of book one Et in Arcadia Ego suggests ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Waugh describes their first encounter with the girls at May Mayfield s as a sickly child and Death s Head , names foreshadowing the downfall and deterioration that will result. It is as a result of this night that Sebastian is arrested and tried for drunk driving, and introduces them to the realities of adult life. It is because of this episode that the Marchmain family are shamed in the newspaper, perhaps worsening Lady Marchmains over reaction to Sebastian s drinking later in the novel. This illustrates clearly how even in these youthful days that Charles cherishes so much, there was chaos which corrupted the serene life with Sebastian which he chooses not to dwell on. Waugh presents corruption in terms of the hierarchy of society, with the nobility exclusively privileged to positions of power, as nought but as negative through his portrayal of Hooper. Charles states in the prologue that Hooper is a symbol to me of Young Britain ; notably Hooper is not presented as an overly inspiring, promising or likeable character. The use of young has connotations of the working class were just coming of age and beginning to have the means to hold positions of power and influence, as well as suggesting a major change in the Britain; an old way of life has been left to be replaced by a new one. It could be argued that Charles is presenting the traditional world as being corrupted with the changing, modernised world. Catholicism is a main focus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are seen as normal people, without a culture or distinct characteristics. Lacunae of Present Day Drug Delivery System Some of the serious lacunae in the current drug delivery systems are as follows: a. A reduced loading and therapeutic effect due to partial degradation of the drug before it reaches its destination is a major concern. For example, a drug administered orally may undergo changes in the stomach due to the action of gastric enzymes. Drugs administered through enteral routes undergo a first pass effect, which is the term used for the hepatic metabolism of a pharmacological agent when it is absorbed from the gut and delivered to the liver via the portal circulation. These processes lead to premature drug loss due to drug metabolism and rapid clearance from the body. b. A lack of targeting ability is yet another major disadvantage of many drugs. When a drug is administered parenterally, it is distributed to all parts of the human body through the bloodstream, rather than to the specific target organ which needs the pharmacological treatment. Biochemical and physiological barriers of certain organs also limit drug delivery to the specified organ, like the human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One evening, I was talking to my grandma and she started telling about our family. At first, it seemed quite boring, but ended up in tears and made me learn the most important lesson of my life. It was quite a deep thing to realize for a kid but fortunately and eventually I understood. It started with my dad s childhood. After my grandfather suffered health problems, at a very young age of 10, my dad had to take the charge of his family because that time my family didn t had money even for bread. My dad worked at a bookstore from morning till evening and after the long day of work. He could earn just about to fill their stomachs. But after my father, he had one brother and three sisters and their education and despite being a lady who were not usually allowed to earn back then, my grandma started working for VDC. Sadly, in the Nepalese Indian societies, people aren t judged keeping their hard work, talents in the mind. And, those who want to grow are pulled backwards due to jealousy. In time of need nobody showed up, and helping seemed bragging only. After all endeavors, striving and thriving, today what we are up to is the result of the sacrifice of my grandma and my dad s childhood; However, with our heads high, we are proud, and are happy to have a self made life and respect in the society. The Pros And Cons Of The Prohibition Era The Prohibition Era, 1920 1933, was a time of turmoil and conflict as the ban of alcohol brought with it the growth of organized crime in United States. The nationwide prohibition of alcohol was introduced to solve social issues and most significantly, lower crime and corruption. Initially established due to nationwide Temperance movements stating that banning alcohol would decrease crime, however the banning of alcohol led to increased organized crime. Organized crime in America grew during Prohibition due to the mafia, gangs and the mob utilizing the public demand for alcohol for their own economic gain, bootlegging alcohol, using extortion and violence, all in is larger quantities than was present before the 18th Amendment was passed. • 37. What Is The Memory Consumption, Look On Convolution Layers... To analyze the memory consumption, look on convolution layers activity. A cache simulator used in virtual computational structure to measure the memory bandwidth without any assumption that it is capable of processing Tn neurons with Ti synapses each every cycle. The cache hierarchy is inspired by Intel Core i7: L1 is 32KB, 64 byte line, 8 way; the optional L2 is 2MB, 64 byte, 8 way. Here the caches have enough banks/ports to serve Tn _ 4 bytes for input neurons, and Tn_Ti_4 bytes for synapses. For large Tn; Ti, the cost of such caches can be exorbitant, here it can be used Tn = Ti = 16. The pseudo code of classifiers layers is given below [16]. for (int nnn = 0; nnn ¡ Nn; nnn += Tnn) {for (int iii = 0; iii ¡ Ni; iii += Tii) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As expected, tiling drastically reduces the memory bandwidth requirements of input neurons, and those of output neurons increase, but slightly. The memory behavior of layers is now dominated by synapses. In any perceptron layer, all synapses are usually exclusive, and so there is no chance to reuse the information within the layer. The synapses can be reused across the network invocations that means, for each new input data existed to the neural network. So a suitably large L2 can be stored all network synapses and take advantage of that locality. In case of DNNs with private kernels, this is not possible as the total number of synapses are in the tens or hundreds of millions (the largest network to date has a billion synapses [18]). Though, for both CNNs and DNNs where kernel is shared, the total number of synapses ranges in the millions, which is within the reach of an L2 cache. Develop the case where reuse across network invocations is possible by considering only the perceptron layer; so, the total bandwidth requirements are now drastically reduced.
