Rowing Reflection
. Rowing has always been a type of personal thermostat and stress reliever for me, I did it almost
selfishly. That is why, when the team held captain elections halfway through my first semester, I did
not vote for myself, I was not on the team because I aspired to be a captain. And further more, when I
received over 75% of the votes, I was shocked. I was one of the newest members of the team and I
was not a vocal team member by any measure. Still, I accepted and we had a great year with a 6th
place finish at nationals. It taught me that leadership is not something you choose, it chooses you.
When choosing a captain the team wanted someone they could emulate and who s is motives they
never had to question. I was a hard worker, and though I did not request it, my team started to align
themselves behind me. From then on whether leadership was or was not the reason I was concerned
with rowing, leadership became my responsibility out of immediate consequence of my personality.
This turned out to be one of the most valuable lessons of my college career. Boston College Varsity
Men s Rowing taught me leadership is never for or about the leader. It is about the team. (~36

world. She was born on July 31, 1965 at Yate General Hospital in Gloucestershire, England. (1)
Joanne grew up in Chepstow, Gwent and from an early age she had an ambition to be a writer. (5) As a
child she wrote many stories and short books, and continues to do so with great success. Later, Joanne
left Chepstow to go to Exeter University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in French and the

The Holocaust is known to be time in history when Adolf Hitler was given power and used his power
to attempt to eliminate all Jews in Europe. This essay will discuss Hitler s anti Semitic racial beliefs

Germany only, though not long after it had spread along all Europe. Hitler instructed the Nazis in
Germany in 1933 to eliminate all Jews in Europe any way they could and to destroy their homes,

All around the world people are moving to find a better life, over 3.3% of the world s population are
international migrants. People are always going through a rebirth from when they get a job to
becoming a family or when they move. Rebirth is not always a big change, but it always changes life
some way or the other. The characters in The Bean Trees lives are constantly changing during the
whole book. Throughout The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver, there is a common theme of rebirth
that the characters Taylor, Turtle, Estevan and Esperanza all experience.
Taylor shows rebirth in many ways, but the start of it all was moving out of Kentucky. Taylor never

My Job At The Club
Rained Out I ve settled into my job at the club pretty quickly. The manager and I have decided that I
will wear a bikini top with either pants or skirts while I work. We talked about having me work
topless, but since the front door opens and people outside could see me, we ruled against it. At this
point, I have been here several weeks. I have become friends with most of the girls, but especially
with Angel. I also get along well with Rochelle, Candy, and Sky. Not their real names, of course.
There is a group of other dancers that seem to hang out together and keep to themselves. They say hi
to me when they walk in, but that s about the extent of our relationships. It can get a little bitchy in
here with the majority of employees being women. I tend to be viewed as a neutral party since I m not
a direct threat to the other dancers. Inside the club, the competition tends to be a little fierce, and
sometimes it s so catty I m happy I sit on the outside. On this particular Tuesday, I get to work a
couple minutes early. I look at the schedule and see that Angel, Sky, Roxy, Misty, and Sabrina are
scheduled to work the afternoon shift, which starts at 4:00. I page back to the dressing room to find

Bunton (2009) stated that, scarring is another unwanted risk of having plastic surgery. Sometimes
incisions do not heal properly, and the skin develops a thick edge and granular tissue. This is one of
the main reasons; plastic surgeons try to make incisions in places where any scars that develop will be
less noticeable as it heals. In some cases, scarring is mild, and will become more unnoticeable as time
goes by, while in more than a few cases, scarring is very noticeable, and permanent.
