Risk Factors Affecting Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery
M.C was admitted to Providence hospital in Waco on September 11, 2015 to undergo coronary artery
bypass graft surgery. He has a previous medical history of coronary artery disease (CAD),
hypertension, MI, and hyperlipidemia. All of these diseases put M.C at an increased risk for acute
CAD leading to occluded vessels that supply the heart with adequate blood flow and oxygenation.
Nonmodifiable risk factors associated with coronary artery disease include age, gender, family history,
and ethnic background. Modifiable risk factors include smoking, obesity, elevated serum lipid levels,
limited physical activity, stress, and hypertension (Ignatavicius Workman, 2010). M.C s family history
of CAD, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia are leading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fibrous plaque is often elevated and protrudes into the vessel lumen, partially or completely
obstructing blood flow through the artery (Ignatavicius Workman, 2010). When the coronary arteries
are unable to meet the cardiac muscle s need for oxygen an imbalance occurs resulting in stable angina
or unstable angina. With stable angina the plaque is fixed and is associated with chest discomfort in
response to activities. Whenever the plaque that has been accumulating in the arteries ruptures the
body responds by platelet aggregation, thrombus formation, and vasoconstriction as an inflammatory
response known as acute coronary syndrome or unstable angina. This in turn narrows the blood
vessels and can cause an increase in obstruction of the artery. Once the artery has plaque accumulation
of 40%, blood flow starts being blocked. The amount of blood flow blocked through occlusion of the
artery determines the disease process.
M.C also had increased glucose levels while I was providing care. Hyperglycemia can cause increased
inflammation of the blood vessel walls damaging the endothelial lining of the vessel. Hyperglycemia
is another major cause for concern because it creates additional plaque buildup causing occlusion and
further complications.
With recurrent plaque build up on the arteriolar walls and vasoconstriction M.C developed and was
diagnosed with hypertension. Hypertension is defined as a systolic blood pressure at or above 140 mm

Japan s Most Valuable Asset Essay
This disaster could have defiantly been much worse. For many people, Fukushima delivered the
devastating conclusion of what could potentially happen in the future. On the bright side, the Triple
Disaster also exposed Japan s most valuable asset: the power of its civil society. The world watched in
astonishment as Japanese civilians who had lost everything, immediately bolted to lend a helping hand
to one another. The dignity, creativity, and orderly response of the Japanese population to this mega
disaster is indeed the best measure of Japan s potential (Earthquake, Tsunami, Meltdown). Previously,
the Kobe earthquake of 1995, assisted to motivate the NGO act in Japan, March 11, 2011 has seen the
activation of scores of non profit groups and the consolidation of a culture of volunteerism (
Earthquake, Tsunami, Meltdown). After some natural catastrophe, the steps of remodeling is actually
complicated, covered, and heartbreaking. Tadashi Endo s butoh loyalty to the Japanese tragedy coveys
to the stability of a nation. Endo will honor the Fukushima misfortune with a memorably sophisticated
dance. Through butoh, Endo dances the pain and tragedy experienced by Japan in the wake of the
2011 tsunami and resultant nuclear disaster and the hope of reconstruction that carried the nation
forward ( Devastation and Hope in Tadashi Endo s Solo Work). In the United States, this setback
drove to the formation of a federal task force and new safety and security standards at

Zheng He s Voyages Analysis
The first voyage that was from 1405 1407 was composed of 317 ships and nearly 28,000 men. In
addition to thousands of sailors, builders and repairmen for the trip, there were soldiers, diplomatic
specialists, medical personnel, astronomers, and scholars of foreign ways, especially Islam. The
second voyage from 1407 1409 took 68 ships to attend the trip. Zheng He organized this voyage but
did not actually lead it in person. The third voyage which is from 1409 1411 had 48 large ships and
about 30,000 troops. When fighting broke out there between his forces and those of a small kingdom,
Zheng put down the fighting, captured the king and brought him back to China. In addition to the

Human Heart Research Paper
The human heart is one of the most important organs that are in the human body. This organ is
necessary for people to be able to live. There are a couple of functions that the heart does that makes it
so important. It is responsible for circulating blood in the body, as well as ensuring that the blood
pressure is kept at a constant rate. Your heart can be found in the center of your chest. The human
heart is divided into four quarters by a strong muscle. The upper portion of the heart is known as the
atria, and the lower portion is known as the ventricle.
The human heart is kept well protected by a sac and fluid that cushions it. The sac that the heart is
housed in is called the pericardium. Inside the walls of this sac is pericardial fluid, and this fluid is
responsible for cushioning the heart. There are three layers that the walls of the human heart are made
up of. The wall that is closest to the heart is called the endocardium, and this is the portion that is in
contact with the blood. The middle wall is called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The total number of children in temporary accommodation was 6,132 at the end of March 2010
(Bardshaw, 2011 p147).
The average of homeless women is lower than men and most of this is under 25years of age. Women
are more likely to get married and have children and maintained their family contact but they are
likely to have family violence, abusive relationship with their partners. A report shows that four in ten
women are sexually abused (Sweetman 1997). According to (Passaro 2014) there are women and men
in their 20 s and 30 s that sleep in the carved cardboard refrigerator like babies in New York City on
the cold sidewalk. These are more likely to affect their health due to the cold weather leading to a
different kind of sickness whereas they cannot access health care. Hightower (2009) cited that looking
into the beginning of homelessness from the perspective of employed and unemployed women,
Johnson 1991 study shows up by the information of feminist theory through interviewing 25 formerly
homeless women regarding how their experience differs. There were five in fourteen employed
women lost their job through destructive relationship and became homeless due to lack of income and

issues are one of the precipitating factors of being homeless. Single homeless people experience high

Why The British Petroleum Was Responsible For The Accident
No doubt that the Deepwater Horizon oil spill was one of the worst and the largest oil in the history of
the world. In the following essay we will discuss about the various aspects related to the accident and
find out whether if the British Petroleum was responsible for the accident.
BP or British Petroleum is the largest corporation in the United Kingdom and is an international
company that operates in oil, gas and chemical industry. The company is headquartered at London. It
owns various refineries as well as chemical plants across the globe. The company produces around
32000,000 barrels of oil daily and operates more than 25K oil service stations across the world with
total employee strength up to 85,000. (bp.com, 2015)
In Gulf of Mexico, BP had been operating the offshore drilling rig called Deepwater Horizon which it
had leased from the Transocean. During the mid of April 2010, there was explode on it as a result of
which it had collapsed. This had caused the rupture in the riser of the deep oil well where it has been
operating. It was followed by the largest ever oil spill in which around five million barrels of oils was
released in the marine environment of gulf of around seventy thousand sq. miles. The accident had
also claimed eleven on board causalities and seventeen critical injuries. More than 2 million gallons of
chemical was used to clear up the spill. This spill had resulted in heavy losses for the company both

Fidel Castro, President Of Cuba
Fidel Castro, President of Cuba, was one of the inspiring forces of the Cuban Revolution. Guided by
the philosophies of his Jesuit education and experiences at his father s sugar plantation, Castro
developed a fundamentally strong view on an independent Cuba, identifying himself with the common
folk. On July 26th, Castro led the attack on the Moncada Barracks in order to take over enemy
transmitters. However, a lack of planning and poor miscommunication on Castro s side led to a severe
defeat, leading to Castro s capture. Although Castro let out on a technicality, President Batista chose to
publicize Castro s trial as well as his History Will Absolve Me speech. In his speech, Castro advocated
for reforms in the country s political structure advocating for establishment of the 1940 Constitution
and focusing on the collective society, not an individual force. Outlining the five laws needed to create
a revolution, Castro related to his fellow Cuban revolutionaries through various literary techniques
such as use of rhetoric and references to Cuba s agricultural history.
One of the underlying themes in Castro s speech was his ability to underscore that there was a
fundamental problem in Cuba s economy. In a time when the United States had recently come out of
its own economic recession and was industrializing, foreign threats severely undermined Cuba s
ability to gain economic autonomy. As Castro keenly pointed out, 85% of small farmers in Cuba pay
rent and live under

Bipolar Disorder And Mental Disorders
Intro Bipolar disorder is an emotional instability checked by great movements in disposition going
from a hyper to a depressive state. Bipolar disorder is additionally called bipolar disease or manic
depression. Bipolar disorder oppresses 3 to 5% of the populace with inconvenient impact on life
possibilities. People with Bipolar Disorder will face life span danger for mood shifts, including fatal
consequences. It is sixth most common cause of disability in the United States (Altman et al., 2006).

patients with borderline personality disorder than among patients with other personality disorders
(Leahy 2007). According to Leahy s article, bipolar individuals with comorbid alcohol abuse will have

Unfortunately bipolar disorder is generally misdiagnosed as unipolar depression. Depending on the
population, between 7% and 52% of patients diagnosed with unipolar depression actually have bipolar

manifestation onset to first treatment. One study reported that patients were misdiagnosed an ordinary

misdiagnosed patients felt that doctors had an insufficient comprehension of bipolar disorder
(Culpepper2015). To confirm the determination of bipolar disorder,

Joint Commission Accreditation
Long term care facilities use Joint Commission Accreditation as a benefit to show the quality and
commitment to the health care organization. A long term care facility that is Joint Commission
accredited will have a more appealing look to reimbursement centers and to the patient and families
that they care for. Having this accreditation is also a risk management tool. The likelihood of a bad
outcome is reduced if a facility is accredited by the Joint Commission. There is a team put together to
come up with accreditation standards and to make sure facilities stay compliant with these standards.

(Facts about Long Term Care Accreditation pg.1) Facilities are surveyed every three years to make
sure that standards are being followed. Facilities can lose accreditation if they fail to meet standards.
Standards are to put into play to prevent risk and educated. There are two types of accreditation that a
facility can choose from. There is Traditional Long Term Care Accreditation. There is also
Medicare/Medicaid certification based accreditation. A facility can choose from either of the two
options. There are also fees that facilities need to consider when looking to be accredited by the Joint
Commission. The on site fee for a nursing home choosing traditional accreditation with an average
daily census of 100 119 is $3,215 and the annual fee is $2,170. A nursing home of the same size
electing the Medicare/Medicaid accreditation option would pay an on site fee of $2,275 and an annual
fee of $1,285. (Facts about Long Term Care Accreditation pg. 2) In conclusion, it can be very
beneficial for a long term care facility to be Joint Commission accredited. Having this accreditation is
a sense of assurance to patients/residents, the families, and to the facility itself. Quality and safety is a

The Anatomy of Homo Sapiens is Unique
The anatomy of Homo sapiens is unique in several ways and sets us apart from other species all across
the world. One of the most distinguishing characteristics that differentiates Homo sapiens from other
species is the utilization of bipedal locomotion. Humans have established a unique way of moving
from one location to another that is due to the evolution numerous anatomical developments over
millions of years. Hominid bipedalism has evolved as a product of natural selection, a theory coined
by Charles Darwin in 1859. This theory of evolution through the process of natural selection explains
that some organisms are more reproductively fit than others. Therefore, these organisms are able to
pass on their beneficial genes to the next generation. Essentially, traits that give certain organisms
specific advantages, such as bipedalism in hominids, will be selected for in greater numbers, and
therefore more individuals in the succeeding populations will display these beneficial traits (Darwin
1859). Darwin s theory can be used to help describe the central idea behind the fascinating
transformation process from quadrupedalism to bipedalism.
One of the most intriguing aspects surrounding this topic is the multiple different hypotheses for the
evolution from quadrupedal gait to bipedal locomotion. Due to the fact that evidence suggests that the
emergence of bipedalism occurred as early as 6 millions years ago, there have been many hyptotheses
as to how the earliest hominids

A Neutral America in the War in the Film Casablanca
In the film, Casablanca , it showed us that America was neutral in the war as Rick said, I stick my
neck out for nobody. Rick is portrayed as America, although he seemed as if he was neutral he started
to show that he was caving in for the underdog, just as America did when we started to get involved in
the War. During the film when the Germans come into Rick s café, Rick shows that he is aware of
what is going on in the War, just as we Americans knew about all the concentration camps. Also, when
someone offered to buy Sam s contract from Rick, Rick said I don t buy or sell human beings.
Casablanca shows that America is aware of what is going on and that we are above all of it.
Casablanca would be considered propaganda because when people wanted to flee the country they
were in they wanted to go to America. The people who wanted to flee to America thought of America
as the safe country. Casablanca portrayed America to be as the to go to country, the safest place to be
during the War. Everyone tried getting their passports to go to America, they bought all of their
passports from the black market just to try and get to America. The people wanted a better life and to
be accepted, also they would be safe from the Germans.
The film makes the viewer feel patriotic because we should all feel proud, with all of the bad things
happening during the war people wanted to go to America. Out of the countries they could have fled to
they picked America. The viewers should also

Bell s Palsy Condition
Bell s Palsy is a condition that results in paralysis of one side of the face. The 7th cranial nerve, also
known as the facial nerve is what controls most of the muscles of the face. This facial nerve stems
from the brainstem between the pons and the medulla, and controls the muscles of facial expression.
The function of the 7th cranial nerve is to express taste sensations from the tongue and oral cavity. It
also supplies preganglionic parasympathetic fibers to several head and neck ganglia (citation). In the
Bell s Palsy condition, there is damage to the facial nerve that controls muscles on one side of the face
which causes that side of the face to droop. Furthermore, this nerve damage may also affect the sense
of taste and the production of tears and saliva. Bell s Palsy is a condition that comes on suddenly, and
it may also get better spontaneously.
One of the most distinct features of Bell s Palsy is its unknown etiology. Previously, Bell s palsy was
speculated to be the cause of other diseases, but it is not the result of a stroke or a transient ischemic
attack, which are conditions that both can cause facial paralysis. The actual cause of Bell s palsy has
not yet been completely determined, but according to some studies, scientists believe that Bell s palsy
is caused by a viral infection such as viral meningitis or the common cold sore virus which is caused
by herpes simplex. Scientists believe that the facial nerve swells and becomes inflamed as a reaction

Essay about The Media During the Tiananmen Square Protests
The Media During the Tiananmen Square Protests
There will always be talk about the biases of the media and the perspective in which it takes when
reporting the news; however, when the news is run by the government and the people who write the
news are threatened to withdraw from their positions because they will not write propaganda, it
becomes a serious issue that can lead a country into turmoil. Such was the situation in Beijing, the
capital of China, in 1989, during the student and worker protests at Tiananmen Square and the
ultimate killings that occurred on June 4th of that year.
The role of the Chinese government in the Tiananmen Square protests went far beyond their military

Hu Yaobang, former secretary of the Communist Party, sympathized with the students and their
protests, and was subsequently fired from his post, and later died of a heart attack on April 15th, 1989,

In the weeks following Hu Yaobang s death, students would filter into Tiananmen Square, despite
government warnings, and stay overnight for Hu s funeral, and held a boycott of classes to demands
talks with the government; the government ignores the students and publishes an editorial on April
25th in People s Daily, the government run news agency, saying that the protests were a conspiracy
against the Communist government in China. Because of that editorial, more students flood into
Tiananmen Square to demand talks with the government and the retraction of the editorial. More was

With Will Grier eligible to play in the opener against Virginia Tech and Jake Spavital at the helm of
the offense, the West Virginia University football team could explode for a high scoring and exciting

During his sophomore campaign at Florida, Grier started five of his six games, where he completed
106 of 161 passes for 1,204 yards and 10 touchdowns. In those six games, he threw three
interceptions.
Against Tennessee, the 6 foot 2, 204 pound quarterback threw a season high 283 yards on 23 of 42

With the loss of Cody Saunders, the Mountaineers are limited at the quarterback position outside of
Grier and Chugunov.
Next in line is David Isreal, a transfer from Butler (Kan.) Community College. He is a dual threat
quarterback with an exceptionally strong arm and is extremely athletic.
The 6 foot 3, 175 pound sophomore was forced into the starter role with Butler last season. He threw
for 1,841 yards and 13 touchdowns.
However, Isreal was sacked 10 times and threw 12 picks. Coming out of high school, the Blythewood,
SC native was lightly recruited.
According to Rivals, he was a two star recruit. Isreal will have four years of eligibility with the
Mountaineers.
While redshirting him seems like the best option, Isreal may see the field sooner rather than later.

Jack Bueltel a shot.
Bueltel is 6 foot, 176 pound quarterback out of Barron Collier High in Naples, Florida. He was a three
year starter at the 6A level.
One plus about Bueltel is his toughness. During a high school game in his senior season, he played
through a collapsed lung.
Despite being injured, Bueltel threw for more than 100 yards.
In three years for the Cougars, Bueltel threw for 2,465 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also rushed for

Take The Wicker Man Analysis
Sometimes it s hard to define a particular horror movie s genre, but in an attempt to sort through the
confusion, I m going to provide an explanation of both the basic genres in horror, of which there are
about 4 with closely related branches in their family tree. Often horror movies tend to fuse different
film genre elements together to create a horrific masterpiece, or just something awful to watch that
ends in disaster. I m not talking about the movie plot itself, but those failed attempts at crafting
masterful cinema. Take the Wicker Man, for instance. This film includes elements of psychological
horror, fantasy, macabre, thriller, and even exploitation horror.
Basic Horror Genres
Creature Features Creature features include, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Exploitation Horror Exploitation horror films generally exhibit blood, guts, and gore for the sake of
provoking a shocking reaction in these horrific movies. Splatter flicks (I Spit on Your Grave) are
included in this genre, often along with cannibal (We Are What We Are), sexual deviancy (A Serbian
Film), murderous cult (Bless the Child), and backwoods psycho motifs (House of 1,000 Corpses the
Devils Reject) running through them.
Urban Legends Often urban legends come in the form of a horror anthology, which is a set of stories
that can be related on unrelated that are typically short and told by a person in a position of wisdom,
such as Jud Crandall in Pet Cemetary, who is a very elderly, local man who provides information that
to live becomes quite valuable to Dr. Creed, as a new town resident.
Urban legends aren t always a story told in an anthology form. Often, a good urban legend or horrific
folktale has enough detail to be a decent horror story on it s own. Lizzie Borden Took an Axe and the

The Theory Of Culture As A Disability
Culture has the power to disable an individual. Once a person is unable to complete a certain task or is
unable to handle a difficult problem, society labels them as disabled. The theory of culture as a
disability focuses on the fact that disability is not always directly related to the individual, but rather
the dominant culture in power. Ideals are created by the dominant culture and if an individual, or an
entire race, does not meet those standards, then they are labeled as disabled and different. Throughout
the years, African American students have been significantly over represented in special education,

Before 1975, children with disabilities were mostly denied an education solely on the basis of their
disability. The Education for All Handicapped Children Act (EAHCA), along with some key Supreme
Court cases, mandated all school districts to educate students with disabilities. Today, we know this
law as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
In the 1998 99 school year, 1,111,650 African American children served in special education programs
across the United States. A National Academy of Sciences study of ethnic representation in special
education indicates that, in that year, across ethnics groups and disability categories, this number
placed African American children at the highest risk of receiving a disability label. This was a risk
index of 14.28% while Whites were at a risk of 12.10%. 13.10% for American Indians/Alaskan
Natives, 11.34% for Hispanics, and 5.31% for Asians. These figures illuminated a pattern that was
first pointed out by L. M. Dunn, who specialized in the department of special education at the
University of Hawaii at Manoa, and further elaborated on by Mercer,

Executive Orders And Their Constitutionality Essay
Executive Orders and Their Constitutionality Although nowhere in the Constitution are executive
orders explicitly mentioned, Article II, Section I states that The executive Power shall be vested in a
President of the United States of America. The President s power to issue executive orders comes from
the Constitution and Congress. Executive orders have the full force of law when they take authority
from a legislative power, which grants its power directly to the executive by the Constitution;
executive orders do not require congressional approval. Similar to legislative statutes and regulations
propagated by government agencies, executive orders are subject to judicial review, meaning that they
can be struck down if deemed unconstitutional by the courts. Executive orders are not to be confused
with executive agreements. Executive order carries out constitutional powers of the President without
having to go through Congress. An executive agreement is an agreement with foreign heads of state
concluded by Presidents under their power as Commander in Chief and their general authority in
foreign affairs; executive agreements do not require ratification by the Senate. Examples of executive
agreements include trade deals and military actions. Executive orders have been around since 1789,
when George Washington was President of the United States, although until the early 1900s executive
orders were unannounced and undocumented. Since 1789 more than 13,000 executive

Imagery Of Blood In Macbeth
A guilty conscience allows the mind to think irrational thoughts. Sometimes guilt can be so hard on a
person that the mind begins to imagine things that refer that person back to what they are feeling
guilty from. In William Shakespeare s, Macbeth, blood, whether imaginary or real, is a common
occurrence as the play progresses. The imagery of blood is mostly referenced to when it is imagined
on an object such as hands, dagger, or the floor. Guilt can be demonstrated differently on each person.
For Macbeth, he imagines blood before he even commits a crime that would lead him to feel remorse,
whereas his wife, Lady Macbeth feels the guilt long after crimes have been committed. Both imagine
blood, but it is important to examine how each one deals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Overall, the blood in this play is depicted as a means for the guilt from which the characters feel.
Imagery of blood is used many times during the play, aside from the instances that Macbeth and Lady
Macbeth use it to depict their guilt that they have. Macbeth was considered a hero before he plotted
his fiendish actions to become king, as he was credited with defeating King of Norway in a bloody
battle. In fact, Macbeth ne er shook hands nor bade farewell to him, till he unseamed him from the
nave to th chops, and fixed his head upon our battlements, (1.2.21 23). Macbeth was very gory with
his killing as he cut his enemy, Macdonwald, from his bellybutton to his jaw, and placed his head on
top of their battlement. Blood plays a much larger role in this play, as it is an underlying factor to
Macbeth s self. The basis of his character is a bloody, war hero; therefore why should his life outside
of battle be any different. Since Macbeth s entrance into the play was about blood, his exit shall be as
well. He foreshadows his own demise as he says, It will have blood, they say. Blood will have blood.
Stones have been known to move, and trees to speak. Augurs and understood relations have by magot
pies and choughs and rooks brought forth, (3.4.124 128). Macbeth knows that he will not get away
with his murder of Duncan and Banquo. Once blood has been shed, the murder victim will seek to
expose his murderer, thus finding Macbeth guilty. He knows that he cannot keep what he has done a
secret forever, thus is blood must fall in order to avenge the deaths he has taken. The imagery of blood
is present throughout the play to examine the guilt that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth feel, but also to
provide a higher meaning to the context of the character that Macbeth is and the way that karma

The Dust Bowl and Agriculture Essay
One has not experienced the life of living in dirt until he has been in the dust bowl. It was a decade
long dust storm that impacted hundreds of farmers and their farmlands. Hardship was among one of
the influences of the storm, which affected both farm workers and city folks. The storm also brought
the elements of destruction and darkness, which reigned chaos across the Plains. Together, these issues
gave the storm its popular name, black blizzard (Documentary, 2014). Such a name was given due to
the storm s visibility as a large black cloud, which made it look evil and scary. Although the black
blizzard is what some people call the dust storm, most will refer it as the dust bowl. The dust bowl has
a long history for its impact on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What led to that event was the drought, bad farming techniques and strong wind gusts (Rosenberg,
2014). First, dry weather reduced the amount of precipitation annually; as a result, crops withered
from no water supply. The drought followed by farmers who continued to abuse their farms led to
topsoil being exposed on the land s surface. Finally, once wind gust came into the Great Plains, the
topsoil was blown from the land s surface into the dry air (Documentary, 2014). From there, the
topsoil accumulated in the air and formed dust clouds, which the winds carried across the nation. This
marks the beginning of the dust bowl. It proved to be hazardous to anything in its path, for it was
similar to foggy weather, but worse. Instead of blinding eye vision, the dust storm caused an array of
issues, such as burying cars, getting into people s houses, conflicting with oxygen levels in the air and
bombarding people s mouths (Rosenberg, 2014). The dust was everywhere to exact. So much dust
pushed farmers to the decision of migrating west or staying and adapting to the dust storms
(Documentary, 2014). Such a decision was not simple, for either way would lead to hardship and
suffering. The dust bowl was no simple storm. Throughout the timeframe of the dust bowl, leaders
were realizing that action must be taken. For example, Hugh Bennett, known as the father of soil
conservation, helped Congress understand that the dust bowl was a serious issue

What Are The Causes Of World Order Conflict
Access to resources is a cause of world order conflicts, however in most cases, world order conflicts
are also driven by other issues such as conflict over land, culture and hegemony. Such conflicts are
also difficult to stop due to factors such as ongoing demand for products by the developed world and
the use of veto power. The conflict in Darfur, Sudan is an example of a world order conflict driven by
access to resources, namely water, but is also caused by increasing demographic pressure and political
marginalisation. The conflict over access to water in Sudan was catalysed by a decline in rainfall in
the area, leading to failed harvests and competition for access to this resource, with other factors such
as political marginalization influencing the violence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Difficulties in stopping this world order conflict in Sudan arose from factors such as the use of the

Essay On Water Pollution
Chapter One
The Problem and Its Setting
Water is essential to life. It provides an efficient way to transfer substances from a cell to the cell s
environment. Which is why there is usually no positive impacts when referring to water pollution as it
is a major global problem. Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies. It exist as a result of
harmful substances being inserted into water bodies whether purposely or accidently. When observed
it has an affect on the entire ecological system, and most occurrences negatively impact whole species
as it is the leading cause of death and disease. On account of water being an vital component of life on
Earth, if it is indeed contaminated, it will deplete the health of the plant and every living thing on it.
Background of the Study
Water pollution can affect the macroinvertebrates that live in the water and they can become
contaminated. When the consumption of influenced macroinvertebrates occur and travel throughout
the food chain based around the body of water, toxins that contaminated the supply are now spread.
The water quality can determine which type of macroinvertebrates inhabit the bodies of water because
there are pollution sensitive and pollution tolerant macroinvertebrates. If the bodies of water are only
inhabited by pollution tolerant macroinvertebrate that suggest that the water is highly contaminate and
those are the only macroinvertebrates that can survive there. Although, if there is a balance of both

Multiple System Atrophy (MSA)
A newly discovered type of prion an aberrant protein implicated in the transmission of progressive
neurodegenerative diseases like mad cow disease and Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease has been linked to the
development of a rare but fatal brain disease called Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). This has the
potential to force us to rethink the way we conceive of our relation to the environment, particularly
when it comes to our diets.
WHAT IS MULTIPLE SYSTEM ATROPY?
MSA is a neurodegenerative illness that progressively attacks the autonomic nervous system,
hampering involuntary body functions like breathing and digestion, as well as voluntary movements.
When cells in the brain and spinal cord lose their functions and die, they lead to symptoms
characteristic of the disease: fainting spells, abnormal heart rate, muscle tremors, rigidity and
difficulty with speech. Symptoms tend to appear around 50 years of age, and worsen rapidly leading
to incapacitation and eventual death due to respiratory or cardiac issues. Though it is a rare disease
affecting 15,000 50,000 Americans, it has no cure and its cause is unknown. It shares a lot of its
symptoms with Parkinson s disease, which further confounds diagnosis. ... Show more content on

These can then infect other PrP molecules, causing them to misfold, thereby propagating the loss of
function. Prions have the distinctive ability to form sticky patches on the brain, eventually killing off
healthy cells. The authors of the study recommend extreme caution and stringent safety protocols
when dealing with patients with prion disorders. Since proteins, unlike viruses or bacteria, cannot be
disinfected by common sterilization regimens, usage of different surgical equipment for prion diseases

Desecration of the American Dream in Glengarry Glen Ross
Glengarry Glen Ross portrays a harsh view of American business that not only contradicts, but also
befouls the values of the quot;American Dream. quot; The idealistic importance of fairness, equality,
and the idea that hard work brings success included in this quot;dream quot; of American society is
clearly not reality in this play. The values of work ethic, and equal opportunity are betrayed, and there

The presence of sexism is more subtle, but nonetheless notable. There seems to be an assumed

Lord Of The Flies Book And Book Comparison Essay
Lord of the Flies Movie and Book Comparison Harry Hook did an amazing job of producing the
movie Lord of the Flies though not a lot of people enjoyed it as much as William Golding s book. The
novel was published in 1954 when the movie was first released the year of 1990. But, the movie had
so many amazing details you didn t want to miss, it was fascinating to watch as well. On the other
hand, the book had many action and meaning to it. For me, both the movie and book were captivating,
however, some parts were completely different. Before I start talking about the differences of the

Secondly, in the novel, Jack and Piggy s relationship was fairly better than the relationship they had in
the movie when they were trying to figure out how to start a fire it was Jack who noticed piggy s

idea to use his glasses, because Jack s relationship was very weak with the boy who had asthma. And
they surely didn t get along.
Thirdly, there were a lot of differences about the pig (Lord of the Flies) and the snake like thing. In the
movie when the boys are all sitting around the fire Jack starts telling them a scary story about a thing.
Although if you watch the movie you d know that the beastie came from the imagination and noises
the littluns have been hearing each night. In the book the beast (dead man) also got spotted by the
boys tanged on a tree with his parachute, and when Ralph noticed him he said It had teeth.... And big
black eyes. If you compare that to the film it turns out to be the opposite since a littlun from Jack s
tribe heard someone in a cave while hunting, and described it being a monster. Now, let s talk about
the Pig or in other words the Lord of the flies and how Simon approached him in a different way. In
the movie Simon didn t actually talk to the Pig on a Stick He was hallucinating, and imagining that the
pig s head was talking to him. For example, Simon imagined the head talking to him, but they were

Poverty Of A Indebted Poor Countries ( Hipc ) A Project By...
INTRODUCTION
This paper looks at the Highly Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) a project by the IMF and World Bank.
DEBT RELIEF KEY TO POVERTY REDUCTION
The World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) with its view that no poor country faces a
debt burden that it cannot manage, came up with an initiative in 1996 called HIPC initiative. Since
then, the International financial community and the multilateral organizations and governments have
worked tirelessly together to reduce external debt to sustain levels for the many Highly Indebted Poor
Countries. The World Bank and its partner IMF believes that poverty reduction will come by reducing
debt levels of the country.
NEGATIVE OUTCOMES OF HIPC INITIATIVES ON ZAMBIA
The World Bank and the IMF, almost always put conditions to members states to access financial
assistance. HIPC countries like Zambia were not an exceptional.
Four conditions were put in place for HIPC to meet, this includes:
1. be eligible to borrow from the World Bank s International Development Agency.
2. Face an unsustainable debt burden, that cannot be sustain through traditional mechanism debt relief.
3. Have established a track record of reforms and sound policies.
4. Develop a Poverty Reduction Strategic Paper
The technicalities behind the above conditions came at a price, which to date, a little of progress has
been seen. Civic leaders under the leadership of President Levy Mwanawasa of the Republic of
Zambia, were on each other s tails.

someone to decide what the greater good would be for all. I would to some extent ... Show more

To ignore what
your common sense tells you to do or at least to put it aside while making the decision
would be a hard thing to do. I don t think a whole lot of people would be willing to
actually do this. I know for but me it would be very hard to do. I m not sure I would want
to. But then again to look in on a perfect world and see I would have to agree it could
possibly produce many favorable outcomes.
Question 2
Of the two formulations we discussed of Kant on the Categorical Imperative then I
would go along with the second idea it seems to be the most workable and valuable. This
concept states that humans are the ends in themselves(mere means). Though this point
seems to be very simple and idealistic, it could be sensible. Kant believes that the
preservation of life is the number one duty in sensible individuals. This not only includes
our lives, but also trying to help others in their lives. This is what he meant when
discussing that humans are not means but ends. This goes on that humans aren t used to
be methods to get somewhere or something by other humans. If this point was taken and
used it could prove to be useful. People wouldn t be taken advantage of or manipulated.
Unless it was some kind of mutual agreement.
Human beings as ends include another aspect of life. That no cause if worth taking a
human life to fix it. I would say I do agree with this

Eleanor Roosevelt Essay
Eleanor Roosevelt
Eleanor Roosevelt s work has made a significant impact on the interpersonal domain. Her work
touched the lives of millions of Americans and influenced many aspects of American politics. She was
a master of her domain, interacting with millions and breaking down many barriers. Her work can be
considered creative because it was so unconventional. She took on roles that were considered
untraditional for women, and with an innovative approach. I admire her work as a leader, a woman,
and a creative individual. Although I cannot imagine having as far reaching an impact as Eleanor
Roosevelt, I hope to be strong in the interpersonal domain. As an organizational leadership major, the
traits of the interpersonal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When young Eleanor was eight years old, her life took a devastating twist. Her loving mother, Anna,
died from diphtheria (Lash 5). Eleanor had been staying with her godmother during her mother s
illness. Young Eleanor acted completely unaffected by her mother s death (Youngs 50). At that time,
she was sent to live in New York City with her maternal grandmother and an aunt. She remained close
to her father, but saw him only sporadically (Berger 1). Only two years later, when Eleanor was ten
years old, her father died. Eleanor became withdrawn, and stopped interacting with classmates. It was
believed that she was reacting to a fear of abandonment (Lash 5). Having lost the two most important
people in her life, Eleanor began to push everyone away.
At the age of 15, Eleanor left New York City. She spent the next three years in London, at Allenswood
Finishing School (Berger 1). Rather than withdrawing, as she had before, Eleanor thrived in the new
environment. She returned to New York as a confident young woman, prepared to make her debut in
society (Youngs 76). It was during this same period that her distant cousin Franklin Delano Roosevelt
entered her life. After a three year courtship, the couple married in 1905 (Lash 12). In 1910, FDR
decided to run for the New York State Legislature. He won by a slim margin, and in 1911 was sworn
into the state legislature (Youngs 108). Thus began Franklin Delano Roosevelt s

The Hunger Game Book Report
I m Holden, Holden Caulfield. If you really want to know about me, the first thing you ll probably
want to know is what I am reading right now. Though I m really not that literate type, I read a lot. The
Hunger Game, written by old Susanne Collins, is my recent reading one. The Hunger Game is the
book that got those crazy ideas. The people living in the book is divided to 12 districts leading by a
centre called Capitol where is the gathering place of all those huge snobs, phonies and morons. They
always wear those old fashioned hat, clothing and thought themselves to be so fashinable. That
imagery really kills me. Really, you can imagine those old ones with a thousand layers of clothing and
makeup that definitely gonna make you sick as hell. But, anyway, it is a story about this crazy goddam
game, called The Hunger Game. In its game regulation, each of the 12 districts has to provide two
tribes. Those 24 tribes then go to the Capitol to attend the killing game. Among those poor sacrifices,
some, those snobs, volunteer for fame and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She and her old Peeta win the game together and break the rules of the Hunger Game. The Capitol
leader must be angry as hell. Katniss Everness is a snob sometimes, like when she enjoys the cheering
from the phonies in the goddamn Capitol, but I ll say I kinda like her in the other times. I really do.
Not only because of her little sister, Prim Everness who reminded me a little bit of old Phoebe. I guess
old Prim is also quite skinny but not Roller skate skinny as Phoebe is. I like Katniss maybe because
she s like me. I really mean it. We all get the little sister that kills you and a physic mom. But, Katniss
life is a bit more interesting than mine. If I m in her place, oh, I don t really care. And that old Peeta, a
real moron. How funny that he doesn t even dare to confess his love until he knows he s stepping to
death. There s nothing to worry, Katniss is not

China Is A Country That Affects The World And The Way...
China is a country that affects the world and the way people live. China has the second largest
economy and it grows through time. They have a large wealth of many minerals and natural resources,
which include coal, iron, copper, limestone and much more. These reserves of mineral and natural
resources help provide China with a steady foundation for rapid industrial growth. China is quickly
growing and it s population is increasing enormously. It s booming economy and industry are a huge
catalyst for the economic status of many other countries, of those including the U.S.
One of the major ways that China is affecting the world, and particularly the U.S., is the exchange
rate. Devaluation, the official lowering of a country s currency within a fixed exchange rate system,
has boosted China s exports in the past several years. It has also caused Chinese made goods to be
much less expensive, and U.S. imports, as well as imports from other countries, to become more
expensive. Although China s economy is benefitting from this change, other countries such as the U.S.
have been greatly impacted.
China has been growing a lot in the past few years, and most of the products we use in our everyday
life are imported from China and their manufacturers. One very common product most of us use is the
iPhone and as you may, or may not know, the U.S. manufactures this product in China. Why you may
ask? Manufacturing an iPhone in the United States would cost about $65 more than

The fibrous plaque is often elevated and protrudes into the vessel lumen, partially or completely obstructing blood flow through the artery (Ignatavicius Workman, 2010). When the coronary arteries are unable to meet the cardiac muscle s need for oxygen an imbalance occurs resulting in stable angina or unstable angina. With stable angina the plaque is fixed and is associated with chest discomfort in response to activities. Whenever the plaque that has been accumulating in the arteries ruptures the body responds by platelet aggregation, thrombus formation, and vasoconstriction as an inflammatory response known as acute coronary syndrome or unstable angina. This in turn narrows the blood vessels and can cause an increase in obstruction of the artery. Once the artery has plaque accumulation of 40%, blood flow starts being blocked. The amount of blood flow blocked through occlusion of the artery determines the disease process. M.C also had increased glucose levels while I was providing care. Hyperglycemia can cause increased inflammation of the blood vessel walls damaging the endothelial lining of the vessel. Hyperglycemia is another major cause for concern because it creates additional plaque buildup causing occlusion and further complications. With recurrent plaque build up on the arteriolar walls and vasoconstriction M.C developed and was diagnosed with hypertension. • 12. The Anatomy of Homo Sapiens is Unique The anatomy of Homo sapiens is unique in several ways and sets us apart from other species all across the world. One of the most distinguishing characteristics that differentiates Homo sapiens from other species is the utilization of bipedal locomotion. Humans have established a unique way of moving from one location to another that is due to the evolution numerous anatomical developments over millions of years. Hominid bipedalism has evolved as a product of natural selection, a theory coined by Charles Darwin in 1859. This theory of evolution through the process of natural selection explains that some organisms are more reproductively fit than others. Therefore, these organisms are able to pass on their beneficial genes to the next generation. Essentially, traits that give certain organisms specific advantages, such as bipedalism in hominids, will be selected for in greater numbers, and therefore more individuals in the succeeding populations will display these beneficial traits (Darwin 1859). Darwin s theory can be used to help describe the central idea behind the fascinating transformation process from quadrupedalism to bipedalism. One of the most intriguing aspects surrounding this topic is the multiple different hypotheses for the evolution from quadrupedal gait to bipedal locomotion. Due to the fact that evidence suggests that the emergence of bipedalism occurred as early as 6 millions years ago, there have been many hyptotheses as to how the earliest hominids ... The 7th cranial nerve, also known as the facial nerve is what controls most of the muscles of the face. This facial nerve stems from the brainstem between the pons and the medulla, and controls the muscles of facial expression. The function of the 7th cranial nerve is to express taste sensations from the tongue and oral cavity. It also supplies preganglionic parasympathetic fibers to several head and neck ganglia (citation). Executive orders have the full force of law when they take authority from a legislative power, which grants its power directly to the executive by the Constitution; executive orders do not require congressional approval. Similar to legislative statutes and regulations propagated by government agencies, executive orders are subject to judicial review, meaning that they can be struck down if deemed unconstitutional by the courts. Executive orders are not to be confused with executive agreements. Executive order carries out constitutional powers of the President without having to go through Congress. An executive agreement is an agreement with foreign heads of state concluded by Presidents under their power as Commander in Chief and their general authority in foreign affairs; executive agreements do not require ratification by the Senate. Examples of executive agreements include trade deals and military actions. Executive orders have been around since 1789, when George Washington was President of the United States, although until the early 1900s executive orders were unannounced and undocumented. • 25. Imagery Of Blood In Macbeth A guilty conscience allows the mind to think irrational thoughts. Sometimes guilt can be so hard on a person that the mind begins to imagine things that refer that person back to what they are feeling guilty from. In William Shakespeare s, Macbeth, blood, whether imaginary or real, is a common occurrence as the play progresses. The imagery of blood is mostly referenced to when it is imagined on an object such as hands, dagger, or the floor. Guilt can be demonstrated differently on each person. For Macbeth, he imagines blood before he even commits a crime that would lead him to feel remorse, whereas his wife, Lady Macbeth feels the guilt long after crimes have been committed. Both imagine blood, but it is important to examine how each one deals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Overall, the blood in this play is depicted as a means for the guilt from which the characters feel. Imagery of blood is used many times during the play, aside from the instances that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth use it to depict their guilt that they have. Macbeth was considered a hero before he plotted his fiendish actions to become king, as he was credited with defeating King of Norway in a bloody battle. In fact, Macbeth ne er shook hands nor bade farewell to him, till he unseamed him from the nave to th chops, and fixed his head upon our battlements, (1.2.21 23). Macbeth was very gory with his killing as he cut his enemy, Macdonwald, from his bellybutton to his jaw, and placed his head on top of their battlement. Blood plays a much larger role in this play, as it is an underlying factor to Macbeth s self. The basis of his character is a bloody, war hero; therefore why should his life outside of battle be any different. Since Macbeth s entrance into the play was about blood, his exit shall be as well. He foreshadows his own demise as he says, It will have blood, they say. Blood will have blood. Stones have been known to move, and trees to speak. Augurs and understood relations have by magot pies and choughs and rooks brought forth, (3.4.124 128). Macbeth knows that he will not get away with his murder of Duncan and Banquo. Once blood has been shed, the murder victim will seek to expose his murderer, thus finding Macbeth guilty. He knows that he cannot keep what he has done a secret forever, thus is blood must fall in order to avenge the deaths he has taken. The imagery of blood is present throughout the play to examine the guilt that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth feel, but also to provide a higher meaning to the context of the character that Macbeth is and the way that karma ... The storm also brought the elements of destruction and darkness, which reigned chaos across the Plains. Together, these issues gave the storm its popular name, black blizzard (Documentary, 2014). First, dry weather reduced the amount of precipitation annually; as a result, crops withered from no water supply. The drought followed by farmers who continued to abuse their farms led to topsoil being exposed on the land s surface. Finally, once wind gust came into the Great Plains, the topsoil was blown from the land s surface into the dry air (Documentary, 2014). From there, the topsoil accumulated in the air and formed dust clouds, which the winds carried across the nation. This marks the beginning of the dust bowl. It proved to be hazardous to anything in its path, for it was similar to foggy weather, but worse. Instead of blinding eye vision, the dust storm caused an array of issues, such as burying cars, getting into people s houses, conflicting with oxygen levels in the air and bombarding people s mouths (Rosenberg, 2014). The dust was everywhere to exact. So much dust pushed farmers to the decision of migrating west or staying and adapting to the dust storms (Documentary, 2014). Such a decision was not simple, for either way would lead to hardship and suffering. The dust bowl was no simple storm. Throughout the timeframe of the dust bowl, leaders were realizing that action must be taken. Young Eleanor acted completely unaffected by her mother s death (Youngs 50). At that time, she was sent to live in New York City with her maternal grandmother and an aunt. She remained close to her father, but saw him only sporadically (Berger 1). Only two years later, when Eleanor was ten years old, her father died. Eleanor became withdrawn, and stopped interacting with classmates. It was believed that she was reacting to a fear of abandonment (Lash 5). Having lost the two most important people in her life, Eleanor began to push everyone away. At the age of 15, Eleanor left New York City. She spent the next three years in London, at Allenswood Finishing School (Berger 1). Rather than withdrawing, as she had before, Eleanor thrived in the new environment. She returned to New York as a confident young woman, prepared to make her debut in society (Youngs 76). It was during this same period that her distant cousin Franklin Delano Roosevelt entered her life. After a three year courtship, the couple married in 1905 (Lash 12). In 1910, FDR decided to run for the New York State Legislature. He won by a slim margin, and in 1911 was sworn into the state legislature (Youngs 108). Thus began Franklin Delano Roosevelt s ... • 45. The Hunger Game Book Report I m Holden, Holden Caulfield. If you really want to know about me, the first thing you ll probably want to know is what I am reading right now. Though I m really not that literate type, I read a lot. The Hunger Game, written by old Susanne Collins, is my recent reading one. The Hunger Game is the book that got those crazy ideas. The people living in the book is divided to 12 districts leading by a centre called Capitol where is the gathering place of all those huge snobs, phonies and morons. They always wear those old fashioned hat, clothing and thought themselves to be so fashinable. That imagery really kills me. Really, you can imagine those old ones with a thousand layers of clothing and makeup that definitely gonna make you sick as hell. But, anyway, it is a story about this crazy goddam game, called The Hunger Game. In its game regulation, each of the 12 districts has to provide two tribes. Those 24 tribes then go to the Capitol to attend the killing game. Among those poor sacrifices, some, those snobs, volunteer for fame and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She and her old Peeta win the game together and break the rules of the Hunger Game. The Capitol leader must be angry as hell. Katniss Everness is a snob sometimes, like when she enjoys the cheering from the phonies in the goddamn Capitol, but I ll say I kinda like her in the other times. I really do. Not only because of her little sister, Prim Everness who reminded me a little bit of old Phoebe. I guess old Prim is also quite skinny but not Roller skate skinny as Phoebe is. I like Katniss maybe because she s like me. I really mean it. We all get the little sister that kills you and a physic mom. But, Katniss life is a bit more interesting than mine. If I m in her place, oh, I don t really care. And that old Peeta, a real moron. How funny that he doesn t even dare to confess his love until he knows he s stepping to death. There s nothing to worry, Katniss is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. China Is A Country That Affects The World And The Way... China is a country that affects the world and the way people live. China has the second largest economy and it grows through time. They have a large wealth of many minerals and natural resources, which include coal, iron, copper, limestone and much more. These reserves of mineral and natural resources help provide China with a steady foundation for rapid industrial growth. China is quickly growing and it s population is increasing enormously. It s booming economy and industry are a huge catalyst for the economic status of many other countries, of those including the U.S. One of the major ways that China is affecting the world, and particularly the U.S., is the exchange rate. Devaluation, the official lowering of a country s currency within a fixed exchange rate system, has boosted China s exports in the past several years. It has also caused Chinese made goods to be much less expensive, and U.S. imports, as well as imports from other countries, to become more expensive. Although China s economy is benefitting from this change, other countries such as the U.S. have been greatly impacted. China has been growing a lot in the past few years, and most of the products we use in our everyday life are imported from China and their manufacturers. One very common product most of us use is the iPhone and as you may, or may not know, the U.S. manufactures this product in China. Why you may ask? Manufacturing an iPhone in the United States would cost about $65 more than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
