Compare And Contrast The Lottery And The Crucible
...sign myself to lies, because I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang...
The Crucible is a play written by Arthur Miller that tells the history about innocent people being
hanged. The short story The Lottery is written about an annual ceremony of a drawing to see who will
get stoned to death. The Lottery is more disturbing than The Crucible , because everyone in the
society participated, it was an every year ceremony, and the punishment is tourteress.
The Lottery is more disturbing than The Crucible , because everyone in the society participated. No
one looks down on this event, that everyone joins in, even if a parent was chosen their children would
also help stone them as well. Come on, come on, everyone. (Jackson 5). This was said by Old Man
Warner as they were about to throw stones at Mrs. Hutchinson until she finally died. It isn t fair, it isn t
right, Mrs.Hutchinson screamed, and then they were upon her. (Jackson 5). This shows that she didn t
want this to happen, but she did before, because she wanted to participate in it as well. No one reacts
to the tradition. Everyone seems okay with it and doesn t try and stop or speak out about it. Bobby
Martin had already stuffed his pockets full of stones, and the other boys soon followed his example,
selecting the smoothest and roundest stones... (Jackson 1). The kids are preparing as they get their
own rocks for the stoning and no thought crosses their mind of how bad it actually is.

Research Paper On Tattoo Covered Man
Tattoo Covered Man
Headline:
One Scumbag Lures Two Girls to Help Him Find a Lost Jacket in the Woods. What Happened Next
Shocked Everyone.
Summary:
A strange, middle aged man tried to lure two girls to come into the woods with him. He told them that
he had lost his jacket and needed help. The evil plan could have succeeded, but the heroic actions of a
local resident changed everything.
Introduction:
Tracy Berry and Carrie Hird loved to play at the local park. Whenever it was sunny outside, they
would beg their parents to go play. Since they lived in a safe neighborhood, the parents thought that
the girls would be fine at the park. It was a cold, sunny autumn day, and the girls wanted to have some
fun. There would be other parents and children at the park, so no one thought that the girls would have
any problems.
Ecstatic, the two girls walked to the park together. They ran around the playground for hours together.
Then, they started to get a little bored. They normally stayed around the playground, but there were
plenty of walking trails in the park. Tracy and Carrie started to wander around the park.
On the edge of the park, there was a large, wooded area. As Tracy and Carrie approached the woods, a
man walked up to him. He was wearing just a T shirt and jeans, which was surprisingly little for the
chilly weather.
The man approached the girls and asked if they could help him. He said that he had lost his jacket in
the woods and needed some help finding it.

Online Vehicle Rental System
PROPOSAL FOR AN ONLINE VEHICLE RENTAL SYSTEM
A DISSERTATION PROPOSAL SUBMITTED IN PARTIAL FULFULLMENT OF THE UNIT (
PROJECT, UNIT CODE) BIT 2221.
JUNE 2012
ABSTRACT
This project is being considered in order to reduce and totally eliminate loss of customers to
competitors, and save the company from folding up. The current system is manual and it is time
consuming. It is also cost ineffective, and average return is low and diminishing. Currently, customers
can call or walk in in order to rent or reserve a vehicle. The staff of the company will check their file
to see which vehicle is available for rental. The current system is error prone and customers are
dissatisfied. The goal of this project is to automate vehicle rental ... Show more content on

It will be easy for the company staff to keep track of available, reserved or rented vehicle so as to
avoid the confusion of reserving one vehicle for two clients which is a common problem when using
manual systems To the Client/customer
The customer will not have to travel to the company offices for Him to reserve of rent a vehicle. He
will do so at the comfort of his home or office.
1.4 Problem Statement
Currently the system being used is a manual one where clients have to come physically into the office
in order for them to rent or reserve a vehicle. The system poses a number of challenges that include:
1. Time consuming
In the current system, clients have to come to the company offices physically in order to rent or
reserve a vehicle which is a waste of time.
When there are many clients to be attended to it may take long for the company staff to serve all of
them.
2. Error Prone
The company staff are very likely to make errors when using the current manual system, for example
it is very easy to reserve one car for two clients, under charge or overcharge a client.
3. Cost
The operating cost of the current System is high but with the implementation of the Automated
System only a few no of staff will be able to run the System.
1.5 Proposed solution
The problems of the current System will be addressed by the development of an online vehicle rental
and reservation System so that customers do not need to walk in or call in

My Experience At High School Classroom
Key Assessment Education 2130 Throughout my observation hours that I completed at South Forsyth
Middle School, I learned many things that I can apply to my classroom when I become a teacher. I
was cultured inside of the classroom to many new techniques and teaching styles that will be
beneficial for my career that is to come. I experienced the classroom in a wide variety due to the
different environments I witnessed during my time observing. Taking my experiences from the broad
array of students, I now feel more prepared for what lies ahead in my teaching career.
My time at South Forsyth Middle School gave me experience with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The
students ranged from on level art students to advanced year long students. I came across a trend of
endless opportunities within the classroom for the students. If the students came across a technique or
type of artwork that they wanted to try, the school and Ms. Wood made that happen. She had high
school teachers and college professors present their studies and beliefs to the students in order to
widen their perspectives and outlook on the art community. For example, they had the opportunity to
watch a high school teacher come and create pieces of pottery on the wheel. This can almost give
students a sense of motivation, encouraged them to look past art as they know it, and see the beauty of
art from someone else s perspective.
I have completed my field hours in a middle school environment. I observed 6th, 7th, and

Kamala Markandaya s Nectar In A Sieve
The constant struggle between progress and tradition has plagued every society over the course of
human civilization. This struggle is represented in the Kamala Markandaya s novel Nectar in a Sieve,
through the tannery. The tannery represents modernization through multiple different elements, such
as industrialization and social change. The tannery industry brought a new way of life to villager
Rukmani and her family. Family values are a huge part of the traditional culture of the village, but
when the tannery enters the picture this all changes. As the reader sees in Rukmani s family, the appeal
of wage work it too much for many young sons to resist. As stated above, this causes many of these
young men to leave their family s tenant farm

Similarities Between Second Coming And 1914
W.B Yeats wrote Second Coming which had reflected the effects of world war one and another war
poet known as Welfred Owen wrote the poem 1914 which also discussed about the world war one
which broke out in 1914. These poems had evoked the theme of fall of civilization and chaos in the
world specially the European countries who were involved in the war. Both the Irish poets blamed the
greed and irrational acts of the people whose immoral deeds had ensued in the inception of great
destruction in the world. In the Second coming Yeats had employed images of falcon and falconer to
symbolize the fall of civilization which had leaded to a catastrophic war. And Owen had employed the
symbolism of the season such as the spring and winter to show the conditions of the world due to the
war. The major similarity between the Second coming and 1914 could be the poets view over the First
World War and their hopes of seeing the world rejuvenating into peaceful and blissful one. ... Show

During the war over 59 million troops were mobilized, 8 million died and 29 million were injured.
(wilde, 2014). Both the poems had exhibited the effects of the destructive war. War broke: and now
the Winter of the world With perishing great darkness closes in (1914). Here Owen was trying to
convince that the war was like a winter which was cold and harsh affecting the world by making it
dark. Dark here means destructive and terrifying which will deprive the happiness and prosperity of
the world. The blood dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere. The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
(Yeats. 1919). This statement also has a similar point of view as the in Owen s 1914 the consequences
of war was likely to be devastating as it snatched the peace and happiness from the people. Yeats had
associated the war with bloodshed and downfall of

1. INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR, sometimes also called Appropriate Dispute Resolution ) is a
general term, used to define a set of approaches and techniques aimed at resolving disputes in a non
confrontational way. It covers a broad spectrum of approaches, from party to party engagement in
negotiations as the most direct way to reach a mutually accepted resolution, to arbitration and
adjudication at the other end, where an external party imposes a solution. Somewhere along the axis of
ADR approaches between these two extremes lies mediation, a process by which a third party aids the
disputants to reach a mutually agreed solution. This article introduces the key concepts, principles and
skills of ADR

The Influence Of The Supreme Court In America
The Supreme Court is the most influential court in America. There are several significant levels of
authority contained within it. The President of the United States appoints Justices into the Supreme
Court. America is a grand and beautiful place, but that does not make it exempt from the cruelty of
human nature. So the Supreme Court was established for the intention of making sure US
Constitution, Federal Law, and US treaties are dealt with properly. If the Supreme Court was not in
place in America, one could easily see that America would have a copious amount of unresolved
national and state issues. Although the Supreme Court is to follow the Constitution and the rules
within it, one cannot immediately assume that each court case is in agreement with the truths of the
Bible. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Saint Anne, The Mother Of Mary And The Mother Of Jesus
Saint Anne is easily identified as the Mother of Mary and the grandmother of Jesus. Saint Anne was
Palestinian, but born in Bethlehem (Asselin; The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica). Sacred
scripture does not mention... Mary s parents , but there is not a total lack of information about them.
Some sources believe that Saint Anne could not have children (Asselin; Holweck; Saint Anne ; The
Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica) . Because of this, she and her husband, Saint Joachim, made
many sacrifices and prayed to God for the gift of a child ( Saint Anne ). The Protoevangelium of
James states that an angel appeared to... them, saying that Saint Anne would conceive and bear a child
who would become famous throughout the world regardless of her old age (Asselin; Holweck; Saint
Anne. ; The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica). St. Joachim and St. Anne are Jesus s grandparents
and belong, in a sense, to the Holy Family (Asselin). They are often referred to as a holy model by
Christian couples (Asselin). After Jesus and Mary, St. Anne is one of the subjects that appears most
frequently in iconography (Asselin). Saint Anne s feast day is celebrated on July 26th (Asselin;
Holweck; Saint Anne. ; The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica).
While there are no eye witness descriptions of Saint Anne s active engagement in her faith, her
devotion to God is displayed through her actions and role as a mother. Saint Anne is the patron saint of

The Decline Of Civility Within The Workplace
The question was asked, Do manners matter? The Golden Rule states: do to others what you would
want them to do to you. The decline of civility in the workplace has been on the rise. Morals are still
at the conclusion that this isn t at any value of importance (Martin). Society assumes that one is born
with etiquettes and not taught. Judith Martin states that the Original Innocence is the idea that people
are born naturally good but corrupted by civilization (Martin). According to the Merriam Webster
dictionary, the definition of civility is polite, reasonable, and respectful behavior. Incivility is an issue
for many. Researcher Jeannie Trudel of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion says that Seventy five
percent to eighty percent of people have experienced incivility (Mattice). Employees, bosses, and even
family members are affected by one s reaction to incivility. The lack of discipline and the absences of
manners is slowly creating a problem in today s work society due to need of communication (Martin).
Today s work society has targeted hate for one another. It is typically causing many to regret their
choice of profession; constantly, dreading the idea to perform to the expected. If we are going to
eliminate the cause of rude behavior and the effect of rude behavior in the workplace, each company
should evaluate their policy s, discuss proper expectations, and provide trainings. The cause of uncivil
actions can take a dramatic toll on any workplace.

The Impact Of Media On The Media Industry
Over all this documentary made me feel very defeated and overwhelmed. Possibly it is just my mood
tonight, but it is clear that a few really wealthy companies run the media in the United States.
There has been a decline in small ownership media companies similar to Independent Lens in recent
years. This decline correlates with the Telecommunication Act of 1996 that ended most ownership
restrictions (Campbell, Martin, Fabos, 2014, p. 224). It was thought that this deregulation would
encourage competition in the media market place, instead it had the opposite effect and created large
media conglomerates.
Cooperation s like Time Warner, Disney, and individuals like Rupert Murdoc own multiple media
outlets making it very difficult for other smaller media outlets to afford to advertise enough to stay in
business. Rather than competing, many of these companies hold joint venture investments and it is not
in their best interest to compete with each other. Deregulations in the industry has allowed these
monopolies to become very powerful limiting the impact of the FCC (Rich Media, Poor Democracy,
n.d.).
The film points out that investigative Journalism has been in a steady decline since 1996. Now that
cooperation s own the news stations it is more about profits rather than true investigative reporting
that costs much more than the fluff reporting or getting your news off the wire. News reporters now
have to compete for ratings and advertisers to stay competitive. Cable

Queen Elizabeth Dbq
Queen Elizabeth of England was a successful ruler because she ruled with a diplomatic mindset. Her
compromise between Roman Catholicism and Protestantism prevented a religious war from breaking
out in England and satisfied both spheres of the religious hierarchy. Elizabeth s method of rule
included delegating tasks to ministers. She ruled with a strategically picked administration. Elizabeth
was a successful ruler because she knew how to commission the best people fit for a specific role.
Additionally, Queen Elizabeth also established the Poor Laws as a new framework of support for
England s needy. In terms of foreign policy, Queen Elizabeth was not a fan of war, but her efforts and
decisions to support the war with the Spanish was successful.

Child Support In California
Just like every state, California has guidelines in their statutes that outline the what, where, how, and
why of child support. The primary purpose of child support in Riverside, California is to do just that;
support the child financially in order to provide for their needs. As far as the courts are concerned, that
means whatever is in the best interest of the child (children).
The basics of what is included in California Family Code 4053:
The father and mother s most important and first obligation is to provide support for their child.
The child support obligation is mutual, consistent with what is in the best interest of the child, and is
calculated according to the income of both parents.

Likewise, child support may also reduce the imbalance in the standard of living for each parent.
California s cost of living is quite high and child support is ordered to reflect that fact.
California law surmises that the custodial parent, or the parent who contributes the most significant
amount of parenting time already contributes a significant amount of money and resources to support
the child. This factor can be rebutted depending on the circumstances.
California s guidelines for child support are intended to reduce litigation and conflict between parents.
The best interest of the child is the state s first priority regarding child support and the overall care of
the child.
Do these guidelines work as the legislature intends?
The goals of the statues regarding child support in Riverside, California are to prevent conflict
between parents, provide insurance that the child will have their needs met, and again, primarily
ensure their best interests are covered.
Things that get in the way of child support

Elite Power In Mass Media
The power elites have a striking influence in mass media and what type of information is given to the
public. The term power elite was coined by C. Mills as the authority in society. Studies have shown
the flow of bias information from elites to the masses and how these messages influence them. This
flow of influence not only has been seen in past history but we still are seeing it today in our so called
MacDonaldized society. Therefore, individuals should take caution when interpreting media,
specifically media related to politics and our society.
Mills defines manipulation as individuals not realizing they are being controlled. Therefore, they
believe they are acting on free will. Where he defines coercion being as one being forced to do
something they may not want to do. To give a better understanding of elite power and their use of
manipulation and coercion, one must look into what Mills described as the 3 levels of society. The
first being the elite authority, which has the most power in the society. Usually composed of men of
similar origin, education, career and style of life. The Second is the Middle level of power elite which
is thought of as Congress, parties, and conflict. interest groups (however their decisions ultimately rely
on the power elite). The last level is the masses, which compose of individuals such as ourselves. The
power elites work through the middle level to manipulate this level of society. This manipulation is
done by conglomerates, the high

The music industry seems to allow very minimal Black cultural contribution to even do that, as
opposed to the history of American music has told the same story over many times whereas African
Americans creates a musical style or genre, only to later be replaced by white artists with more
mainstream appeal. This trend can be seen in everything from Rock n Roll, Country music, Pop music
to more recently Hip Hop and RnB where white artists like Iggy Azalea, Macklemore, Robin Thicke
and Justin Timberlake dominates today s Hip Hop/R B charts. White people may be able to participate
in or appropriate Black styles, but they rarely innovate or enhance them, so the genre slowly withers
away ( Clutch, 1). This act all ties in with commercialization and the Whites using Hip Hop as a

In carbon cycle, carbon enters the atmosphere as carbon dioxide from respiration and combustion.
Carbon dioxide is absore dby producers to make carbohydrates in phtosysnthesis. These producers
then put off oxygen. Then animals feed on the plants. Thus passing the carbon compounds along the
food chain. Most of the carbon these animal consume however is exhaled as carbon dioxide. This is
through the process of respiration. When the plants and animals die, they ar eaten by decomposers in
the ground. The carbon that was in their bodies is then returned to the atmosphere as carbon dioxide
and the whole cycle will start again.

My Letter And Their Description
First part: My Four Letter and their description.
My conformed profile is ENTJ, stands for Extravert, Intuitive, thinking, and judging. This means that
in business and school I am very open to the external world, I like receiving information from internal
and imaginative world, I am very logic so all the decisions I make are based on logical facts and
reasons, and I like organizing, planning, and ordering everything before starting doing something. In
other words, as an ENTJ, I do like to plan and organize, and I do not need the support of anyone to
build up my plan and perform it. I am really determined to achieve my plan once I have created it. I

One of my friends is often boring about reading and spending time taking notes in class. She has a
penchant for adventures and she always thinksthat learning while being in the heart of experience is
better than staying behind a book, just read and listing to the tone of your voice and then nothing else
happens. She expresses great feelings when she is at ease of doing something. It is like she plunges
into the activity and becomes one with. I think that ISPF is the four letter that can describe her
personality.

I faced some difficult situations, and I am going to recall two of them. I had a friend, he was

Percussion Instruments Comparison Essay
The difference between a drum and a percussion instrument creates confusion among those that don t
know the intricacies of both instrument categories. While both instruments share similar
characteristics, a drum consists of a very specific type of percussion instrument. Percussionists and
drummers learn very early on to distinguish the difference by identifying the specific characteristics of
each instrument.
Main Differences
Drums fall under the category of percussion instruments. However, not all percussion instruments can
be considered drums. A drum specifically requires the instrument to produce an indefinite pitch and
applies to instruments that are struck with drumsticks, mallets, beaters or the hands. Percussion
instruments include any instrument that can be struck or hit with a mallet or that produces an extra
musical effect.

Each of these instruments historically used an animal skin that was stretched over a membrane. The
skin, or drum head, can then be struck to produce rapidly developing rhythms, booming bass and help
to drive the pulse of the piece forward. Drums must have a skin stretched over the top membrane of
the instrument. For this reason, drums are often referred to as membranophones.
Pitched Percussion
Pitched percussion instruments are also commonly referred to as barred instruments. These
instruments include any percussive instrument that must be struck to create sound, but produce a
definite sound. Some examples of pitched percussion instruments are the xylophone, marimba,
glockenspiel, tubular bells and the celesta. Each of these instruments are commonly available in
symphony orchestras. They serve to provide accents to the main beats of a musical work and color
melodies that double in the woodwind or brass section of the orchestra.

Asymmetrical Balance
The black and white photograph captured by Jose Miguel Martinez incites a range of sentiments to the
audience with its landscape of the seashore at nightfall. A pile of rocks and a tattered brick wall are in
the foreground, the sea and cliffs are in the middle ground, then the remote sailboat, distant land, and
the moonlit sky are in the background. This photograph impressively demonstrates the uses of
balance, utility, and variety in its composition. Balance is achieved asymmetrically by the raw and
unintended placement of the mountains, brick wall, the sea and land. The composition also has a great
balance with the use of positive and negative space. Because of the asymmetrical balance, the
photograph is more stimulating to look at as both

Reevaluating Opposites
Reevaluating Opposites Whether we believe it or not, many things are connected in some way. Even if
some things take a while to notice, we still have that eureka moment whenever we gather information
that correlates with something we learned in the past. While reading a work of writing, the goal is to
reach the end and fully understand what was just read. It is not likely for one to focus on comparing
that piece to anything from a prior situation. It can be found that upon trying, more similarities are
found than not. This is demonstrated when writers have the same overall tone for their pieces. Is

Aging Population In Canada
A rapidly aging population and declining birth rate present a problem to policymakers as far as
dynamic demand drivers in the economy, increase in health care costs, reduction in the working age
population and unsustainable pension commitments are concerned (Beaujot, Ravanera, 2013). This is
the major socio economic problem that is being witnessed in the province of Quebec, Canada. The
standards of living of the people in the province have been greatly affected as the issue intensifies.
Aging population has significantly affected economic development in the province as the government
tends to focus more resources on tackling the issue instead of concentrating on more progressive
projects. This paper provides an opinion based analysis on the problem of aging population and
declining birth rate in the province of Quebec in Canada.
Low population in Quebec has been something that the province has been facing. This is because of
the continuous drop in the number of births coupled with the rapidly aging population. According to
the provincial statistics bureau, 1.6 children per woman was witnessed in 2015 which is a drop by one
percent compared to the 2014 statistics. The birth rate of the province has been going down from the
year 2009. The fertility rate of the province was 1.60 in the year 2016 (Beaujot, Ravanera, 2013). This
problem of low birth rate puts the future generation at risk and it has already affected the economy of
the province.

The Feminization Of Globalization
Because of the way gender operates in society and culture, the majority of those most affected by the
connected systems of globalization and neoliberalism in nations like Indonesia and Vietnam are
women. This is something various scholars, including Hawkesworth, might refer to as the
feminization of globalization which is tied to some other systemic gendered processes. According to
Hawkesworth, not do women make up 70 percent of the poor globally, but the poor are actually
constructed as a feminized category, in how they are regarded as dependent, subrational, and in need
of direction (23). This feminization of poverty (Hawkesworth, 23) means that the large group of
people in the world who are both poor and women key targets for the neoliberal strategies of
economic influence highlighted above. Moreover, many women are tied to dependents through
culturally and socially constructed attitudes about gender that essentialize women s ties to
motherhood. As Joane Nagel demonstrated in Gender and Sea Level Rise, as was the case for women
in Bangledesh during Cyclone Marian, in times of hardship women are expected to care for children,
the elderly, and the home (61). Women are also expected to meet this responsibility through self
sacrifice. One might call this an example of the feminization of care. Following the interactions of
these gendered processes, it is no surprise that women are the ones employed by Nike in countries
where the IMF and WB, and the connected systems

Growing Number of Electric Power Grids
The existing electric power grids face new challenges with the growing economies that are dependent
on electricity. These challenges put the ability of the current electric power grids at risks of being able
to deliver efficient, reliable and clean power energy to meet the demand of the growing economies.
The reliability of the existing electric power girds during peak load conditions is ensured mainly by
having excessive power capacity in the whole system [1]. Excessive power capacity necessitates
turning on peaker plants which are environmentally unfriendly and also expensive. Conversely, when
the average demand is much lower than the peak load, then the need for energy storage becomes a
necessity. A key solution to the energy storage and wastage problems is offered by renewable energy
sources; however, their integration with the existing grids comes with a set of barriers such as the
intermittency of generation and the high level of distribution of the sources and the lack of proven
distribution control algorithms to manage such a highly distributed generation base [2]. In such
situation, the use of communication and information technologies is attractive to match the demand to
the available supply and dramatically improve performance and efficiency. A smart grid is an
intelligent electricity network that integrates the actions of all users connected to it and makes use of
advanced information, control, and communications technologies to save energy, reduce cost and

How does war make you feel? Imagine how soldiers feel during the war and after, they have had to

War never fully leaves the soldiers even after they are not in battle anymore. Both poems give readers
a little bit of the soldiers point of view and show how soldiers have to be brave even though they may
be scared but who is actually up to fight. I believe the poems are supposed to give readers the effect of
sadness and fright maybe just thinking of what soldiers have to endure but also makes them think
about if they would be brave enough to fight themselves. Firstly, In Dulce et Decorum Est Wilfred

The Impact Of Income Inequality On Economic Growth
LITERATURE REVIEW The impact of Income Inequality on Economic Growth: A Case study on
Nigeria Student Number: P14173106 Supervisor: Helen Solomon Module Leader: Helen Solomon
Date: 26th November 2016 Word Count: 1.0 Introduction According to Adam Smith (1776) in his
book the wealth of nations, no society can surely be flourishing and happy, of which the far greater
part of the members are poor and miserable . Economic growth and income inequality are central inter
related facets that explain current trend in global issues. Oxfam (2016) suggested that 62 of the richest
people have the same wealth as the 3.6 billion poorest people. The rich continue to acquire wealth,
while the poor struggle for basic things required for survival like food, access to clean water and
shelter. The research question proposed is: Does income inequality have an impact on economic
growth? . This chapter highlights the key concepts and notions which underlie the subject matter of
the study in order to provide an ideal frame for understanding the relationship between income
inequality and economic growth and answering the research question. It will also look at previous
empirical studies carried out by other researchers in this field and identify gaps in the existing
literature. 2.0 Theoretical Framework and Empirical Evidence Inequality is generally referred to unfair
distribution of resource among individuals. Inequality can vary from income, health, gender and
wealth.

Gender Is A Social Aspect Essay
Gender has always been around, but it has caused confusion for some about the true meaning, through
this, two perspectives have come to light. Those who believe that gender is something that you are
born with, your biological self that differentiates you from your opposite (male/female). Then there
are those who believe that gender is a social constructed aspect of ones life. What your parents and
society label you the minute you are born. Examples being a girl wears pink, a boy wears blue. These
colours are a significant symbol of assigning one a gender, for if they do not wear those colours (in
some instances) then people will not be able to distinguish them this generally shown in a newborn
babies case. Through a socially constructed perspective, certain ways of living are formed for each
persons gender, in olden day New Zealand, women, at a certain point in time were assumed to stay at
home, with the children and be good wives. Whereas men were to be in the labour force, whether it be
working class, or in the higher areas of parliament. This was all up until the mid 1800s were the first
wave feminism came into act.
There are many aspects within a persons educational life, that can affect them greatly, gender being
one of them. Depending on the job, a persons gender can hold major implications to their progression
in that area. In modern day, gender still holds a major impact on a persons life, especially if they are
females. All over the world there is still clear

To Determine the Percentage by Mass of Calcium Carbonate...
Aim
The purpose of this experiment is to determine the percentage by mass of calcium carbonate in
eggshells.
Introduction
To avoid the breakage of eggs before reaching market, the eggshells needs to be as strong as possible.
The strength of eggshells is mainly determined by the percentage of calcium carbonate in it. In order
to monitor the quality of eggshells, the following experiment has to be done to determine the
percentage of calcium carbonate in eggshells.
In this experiment, back titration is used. First, excess acid is reacted with the calcium carbonate in
eggshells:
2HCl(aq) + CaCO3(s) → CaCl2(aq) + H2O(l)+ CO2(g) Later, if we can find out the number of mole
of unreacted acid, number of mole of calcium carbonate can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

6. 12.5 cm3 of 0.9992 M sodium hydroxide solution was transferred to a 250 cm3 volumetric flask by
burette and de ionized water was added to the mark. The flask was shaken to ensure homogeneity of
the solution.
7. A clean burette was filled with the diluted sodium hydroxide solution (~ 0.05M). The initial burette
reading, accurate to the nearest 0.05cm3, was recorded. During trial run, about 2 3 drops of methyl
orange was added as an indicator.
8. Sodium hydroxide solution was run from the burette into the flask with the magnetic stirrer being
turned on. When the indicator was turned slightly yellowish, sodium hydroxide was added dropwisely
until the reading of the pH meter is 7.00. The final burette reading, accurate to the nearest 0.05cm3,
was recorded.
9. The burette was refilled with the diluted sodium hydroxide solution. Steps 7 and 8 were repeated 3
times without using indicator. Sodium hydroxide was added dropwisely when the burette reading was

Bibliography on Ghandi Social Justice and Religion Attenborough, Richard, director. Gandhi.
Columbia Pictures, 1982. Gandhi is a biopic produced by Richard Attenborough whose lifelong dream
was to make the story of the national independence leader s life into a movie. The movie starts with
Mohandas K. Gandhi, played by actor Ben Kingsley, rejecting all material possessions in pursuit of
India s independence. The storyline plays out to highlight important aspect of Gandhi s life and ends
with his assassination, where he utters the famous lines Oh god. Critics claim the movie is over
exaggerated, however Attenborough does a fine job of bringing a visual of Gandhi s life into Western
eyes. In addition, what could be a bad thing ends up being a good thing for the layman who watches
this movie. Attenborough oversimplifies Gandhi s perspectives and ideas on social justice and
religion, which leads to a very simple explanation of Gandhi s philosophy. Friedman, Joseph S. (2008)

Essay on My Development as a Writer
When writing a five paragraph essay, there are five steps one must fallow in order to attain perfection,
these steps include understanding the question, brainstorming, writing a rough copy, revising, and
creating a final draft. The first and most important step is understanding the topic. The topic of the
essay is what the essay will be about and if this is misunderstood, the whole essay will be off course.
The second step, brainstorming, will help organize thoughts and ideas so they flow amiably. There are
many different ways to brainstorm, some of the most helpful are making a web of ideas, making a list
of ideas, or creating a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the conviction. All these ideas will be
related to the topic at hand. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next step is revising and editing the rough draft. Revision helps the writer attain different opinions
and assessments about how the essay sounds, and flows, getting grammar and spelling suggestions
along the way. It is better to have many opinions rather than one because one person might not catch a
misspelled word that another would have. The more opinions a paper gets, the better it may be. The
final step when writing a five paragraph essay is creating a final draft. This is the finished product and
should include every aspect that an essay needs to get a point across. Such aspects like a proper
introduction, a clear thesis, three supporting paragraphs and a conclusion that restates the thesis. Over
the past few months, I have written many essays which required me to research topics and build
essays based on my opinions and thoughts, my favorite being Generation Change and worst being
children. The essay Generation Change is my best work because of how I made the paper flow by
using transitions and complex word choice. The topic was about what I would name my generation
and why. I thought it was easier to write about this topic because I could use insight that I learned over
the years to give examples such as the introduction of global warming, the advancement of
technology, the first African American president and the change in culture. My worst essay in my
opinion would be an essay comparing and contrasting having children. I couldn t relate to

Bubonic Plague Dbq Essay
Why was the Bubonic Plague (Black Death) so Devastating to European Society? The Bubonic
Plague, otherwise known as the Black Death, was a huge epidemic in the mid 1300s. It killed off
about 20 million Europeans within 1348 and 1351and was thought to originate from China and move
westwards through means of infected fleas and rats through shipping and trade (Document 1). The
plague was recorded in the spring of 1348 in Messina, Italy and the summer that followed, in England.
The last region affected by the disease was the Baltic region. Symptoms that came along with the

Early American Indian Pottery History
Introduction Ceramic making is still a popular tradition today in the Americas, especially on Native
Indian Reservations, like in Western, North Carolina. The use of ceramics, however, is quite different
than the way it was used by the natives during the Middle Woodland Period. Today, pottery is mainly
made for decoration or art purposes by modern day Americans, but according to Wallis (2011), about
3,000 years ago the use of pottery became a very common use and practiced tradition among the
native people who lived during that time period. The Swift Creek culture and the Cherokee Indians
had very similar methods in formulating ceramics. The archaeological findings of these artifacts states
that one group had been more advanced designs on their vessels. This reason is most likely because of
the materials that one group was able to access in their area that the other group did not have
available. One group was also more traditional and spiritual in making their vessels, which caused
them to create more complex designs and methods while designing their ceramics (Block 2005). By
looking at the similarities of both groups pottery styles, archaeologists were able to determine the
minor but very distinctive differences, that one group processed in their art, than the other. By
comparing each group s ceramics by looking at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
100 and 900 (Pluckhahn 2007). The decorations on the pottery that was being produced by the Swift
Creek culture, became unusual overtime (Smith et all. 2009). Radiocarbon dates from the number of
sites archaeologists have excavated containing Swift Creek pottery suggests the time range of their
pottery is approximately 20 B.C. to A.D. 805 (Pluckhahn 2007). The pottery style changed heavily
over time, because Swift Creek vessels first started off as deep jars with notched rims and then their
pottery cultivated into bowl forms with folded rims (Smith et all.

My Last Duchess And Porphyria s Love Analysis
True Love
(A Discussion on Robert Browning s My Last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover.)
Robert Browning wrote many amazing dramatic monologues during his time in the 1800 s. The
English poet Robert Browning (1812 1889) is best known for his dramatic monologues. By vividly
portraying a central character against a social background, these poems probed complex human
motives in a variety of historical periods (Gale). Browning was super influential with his monologues
during the Victorian period and even still today. Several of Browning s work are about love. Two of
his most notable love monologues was My Last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover. Browning s two
monologues My Last Duchess and Porphyria s lover share several similarities, but also differ severely.
In Browning s readings My last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover share several similarities. Both the
men in these monologues kill the women they are supposed to love. The main part of these
monologues is the men killing their wives. Both kill their wives because they are both jealous men,
who want complete control over the woman. They feel as if the women should be their property, and
only theirs. Another Similarity of these monologues is they are wrote in the man s point of view, and
not the women. Both poems show a similarity because they are both narrated from the male lover s
point of view. As a result, the reader becomes more closely involved in the poems and can feel very
strong emotions for the individuals

Students Should Get Paid For Good Grades Essay
Should Students Get Paid For Good Grades?
Why do almost all students dread school? Though the answer may differ between different people, the
main reason why most students dread school is because we have to go to school almost everyday and
work, receiving no reward. There is nothing to look forward to in school and though the idea may
sound absurd, students should get paid for good grades. School is work, it s difficult and it takes up
our entire day, filling the rest of our free time with homework or topics to study. If we got paid for
doing good in school, then we would be encouraged to keep up the hard work and we would put more
effort in school. Meaning that the next generation of adults would be well educated and would benefit
society in many ways. Getting paid for good grades would also help us see the responsibility that
comes with money. It would also help prepare us for life after school because we would know how to
spend our money wisely, so in other words, students should get paid for good grades because school is
work, we would be more encouraged to be diligent and we would learn the responsibility that comes
with money.
First off, school requires a mental effort which by definition is considered to be work. Since we go to
school for 8 hours every day and do that about 180 days per year, we should get paid if we keep our
grades up because it s hard to do. Keeping good grades requires lots of hard work and effort. It also
requires time, which some of us

  • 2. Compare And Contrast The Lottery And The Crucible ...sign myself to lies, because I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang... The Crucible is a play written by Arthur Miller that tells the history about innocent people being hanged. The short story The Lottery is written about an annual ceremony of a drawing to see who will get stoned to death. The Lottery is more disturbing than The Crucible , because everyone in the society participated, it was an every year ceremony, and the punishment is tourteress. The Lottery is more disturbing than The Crucible , because everyone in the society participated. No one looks down on this event, that everyone joins in, even if a parent was chosen their children would also help stone them as well. Come on, come on, everyone. (Jackson 5). This was said by Old Man Warner as they were about to throw stones at Mrs. Hutchinson until she finally died. It isn t fair, it isn t right, Mrs.Hutchinson screamed, and then they were upon her. (Jackson 5). This shows that she didn t want this to happen, but she did before, because she wanted to participate in it as well. No one reacts to the tradition. Everyone seems okay with it and doesn t try and stop or speak out about it. Bobby Martin had already stuffed his pockets full of stones, and the other boys soon followed his example, selecting the smoothest and roundest stones... (Jackson 1). Summary: A strange, middle aged man tried to lure two girls to come into the woods with him. He told them that he had lost his jacket and needed help. The evil plan could have succeeded, but the heroic actions of a local resident changed everything. Introduction: Tracy Berry and Carrie Hird loved to play at the local park. Whenever it was sunny outside, they would beg their parents to go play. Since they lived in a safe neighborhood, the parents thought that the girls would be fine at the park. It was a cold, sunny autumn day, and the girls wanted to have some fun. There would be other parents and children at the park, so no one thought that the girls would have any problems. Ecstatic, the two girls walked to the park together. They ran around the playground for hours together. Then, they started to get a little bored. They normally stayed around the playground, but there were plenty of walking trails in the park. Tracy and Carrie started to wander around the park. On the edge of the park, there was a large, wooded area. As Tracy and Carrie approached the woods, a man walked up to him. He was wearing just a T shirt and jeans, which was surprisingly little for the chilly weather. The man approached the girls and asked if they could help him. He said that he had lost his jacket in the woods and needed some help finding it. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Experience At High School Classroom Key Assessment Education 2130 Throughout my observation hours that I completed at South Forsyth Middle School, I learned many things that I can apply to my classroom when I become a teacher. I was cultured inside of the classroom to many new techniques and teaching styles that will be beneficial for my career that is to come. I experienced the classroom in a wide variety due to the different environments I witnessed during my time observing. Taking my experiences from the broad array of students, I now feel more prepared for what lies ahead in my teaching career. My time at South Forsyth Middle School gave me experience with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The students ranged from on level art students to advanced year long students. I came across a trend of endless opportunities within the classroom for the students. If the students came across a technique or type of artwork that they wanted to try, the school and Ms. Wood made that happen. She had high school teachers and college professors present their studies and beliefs to the students in order to widen their perspectives and outlook on the art community. For example, they had the opportunity to watch a high school teacher come and create pieces of pottery on the wheel. This can almost give students a sense of motivation, encouraged them to look past art as they know it, and see the beauty of art from someone else s perspective. I have completed my field hours in a middle school environment. I observed 6th, 7th, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Similarities Between Second Coming And 1914 W.B Yeats wrote Second Coming which had reflected the effects of world war one and another war poet known as Welfred Owen wrote the poem 1914 which also discussed about the world war one which broke out in 1914. These poems had evoked the theme of fall of civilization and chaos in the world specially the European countries who were involved in the war. Both the Irish poets blamed the greed and irrational acts of the people whose immoral deeds had ensued in the inception of great destruction in the world. In the Second coming Yeats had employed images of falcon and falconer to symbolize the fall of civilization which had leaded to a catastrophic war. And Owen had employed the symbolism of the season such as the spring and winter to show the conditions of the world due to the war. • 14. The Impact Of Media On The Media Industry Over all this documentary made me feel very defeated and overwhelmed. Possibly it is just my mood tonight, but it is clear that a few really wealthy companies run the media in the United States. There has been a decline in small ownership media companies similar to Independent Lens in recent years. This decline correlates with the Telecommunication Act of 1996 that ended most ownership restrictions (Campbell, Martin, Fabos, 2014, p. 224). It was thought that this deregulation would encourage competition in the media market place, instead it had the opposite effect and created large media conglomerates. Cooperation s like Time Warner, Disney, and individuals like Rupert Murdoc own multiple media outlets making it very difficult for other smaller media outlets to afford to advertise enough to stay in business. Rather than competing, many of these companies hold joint venture investments and it is not in their best interest to compete with each other. Deregulations in the industry has allowed these monopolies to become very powerful limiting the impact of the FCC (Rich Media, Poor Democracy, n.d.). The film points out that investigative Journalism has been in a steady decline since 1996. • 18. Elite Power In Mass Media The power elites have a striking influence in mass media and what type of information is given to the public. The term power elite was coined by C. Mills as the authority in society. Studies have shown the flow of bias information from elites to the masses and how these messages influence them. This flow of influence not only has been seen in past history but we still are seeing it today in our so called MacDonaldized society. Therefore, individuals should take caution when interpreting media, specifically media related to politics and our society. Mills defines manipulation as individuals not realizing they are being controlled. Therefore, they believe they are acting on free will. Where he defines coercion being as one being forced to do something they may not want to do. To give a better understanding of elite power and their use of manipulation and coercion, one must look into what Mills described as the 3 levels of society. The first being the elite authority, which has the most power in the society. Usually composed of men of similar origin, education, career and style of life. The Second is the Middle level of power elite which is thought of as Congress, parties, and conflict. interest groups (however their decisions ultimately rely on the power elite). The last level is the masses, which compose of individuals such as ourselves. The power elites work through the middle level to manipulate this level of society. Aging Population In Canada A rapidly aging population and declining birth rate present a problem to policymakers as far as dynamic demand drivers in the economy, increase in health care costs, reduction in the working age population and unsustainable pension commitments are concerned (Beaujot, Ravanera, 2013). This is the major socio economic problem that is being witnessed in the province of Quebec, Canada. The standards of living of the people in the province have been greatly affected as the issue intensifies. Aging population has significantly affected economic development in the province as the government tends to focus more resources on tackling the issue instead of concentrating on more progressive projects. This paper provides an opinion based analysis on the problem of aging population and declining birth rate in the province of Quebec in Canada. Low population in Quebec has been something that the province has been facing. This is because of the continuous drop in the number of births coupled with the rapidly aging population. According to the provincial statistics bureau, 1.6 children per woman was witnessed in 2015 which is a drop by one percent compared to the 2014 statistics. The birth rate of the province has been going down from the year 2009. The fertility rate of the province was 1.60 in the year 2016 (Beaujot, Ravanera, 2013). This problem of low birth rate puts the future generation at risk and it has already affected the economy of the province. The rapidly aging population ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. The Feminization Of Globalization Because of the way gender operates in society and culture, the majority of those most affected by the connected systems of globalization and neoliberalism in nations like Indonesia and Vietnam are women. This is something various scholars, including Hawkesworth, might refer to as the feminization of globalization which is tied to some other systemic gendered processes. According to Hawkesworth, not do women make up 70 percent of the poor globally, but the poor are actually constructed as a feminized category, in how they are regarded as dependent, subrational, and in need of direction (23). This feminization of poverty (Hawkesworth, 23) means that the large group of people in the world who are both poor and women key targets for the neoliberal strategies of economic influence highlighted above. Moreover, many women are tied to dependents through culturally and socially constructed attitudes about gender that essentialize women s ties to motherhood. As Joane Nagel demonstrated in Gender and Sea Level Rise, as was the case for women in Bangledesh during Cyclone Marian, in times of hardship women are expected to care for children, the elderly, and the home (61). Women are also expected to meet this responsibility through self sacrifice. One might call this an example of the feminization of care. Following the interactions of these gendered processes, it is no surprise that women are the ones employed by Nike in countries where the IMF and WB, and the connected systems ... • 31. Growing Number of Electric Power Grids The existing electric power grids face new challenges with the growing economies that are dependent on electricity. These challenges put the ability of the current electric power grids at risks of being able to deliver efficient, reliable and clean power energy to meet the demand of the growing economies. The reliability of the existing electric power girds during peak load conditions is ensured mainly by having excessive power capacity in the whole system [1]. Excessive power capacity necessitates turning on peaker plants which are environmentally unfriendly and also expensive. Conversely, when the average demand is much lower than the peak load, then the need for energy storage becomes a necessity. A key solution to the energy storage and wastage problems is offered by renewable energy sources; however, their integration with the existing grids comes with a set of barriers such as the intermittency of generation and the high level of distribution of the sources and the lack of proven distribution control algorithms to manage such a highly distributed generation base [2]. In such situation, the use of communication and information technologies is attractive to match the demand to the available supply and dramatically improve performance and efficiency. A smart grid is an intelligent electricity network that integrates the actions of all users connected to it and makes use of advanced information, control, and communications technologies to save energy, reduce cost and ... Imagine how soldiers feel during the war and after, they have had to watch many innocent people suffer and die, maybe even their own friends. Both poems Dulce et D Decorum Est and Who s for the Game? give readers a sense of what soldiers see and how they feel. War never fully leaves the soldiers even after they are not in battle anymore. Both poems give readers a little bit of the soldiers point of view and show how soldiers have to be brave even though they may be scared but who is actually up to fight. I believe the poems are supposed to give readers the effect of sadness and fright maybe just thinking of what soldiers have to endure but also makes them think about if they would be brave enough to fight themselves. • 36. Gender Is A Social Aspect Essay Gender has always been around, but it has caused confusion for some about the true meaning, through this, two perspectives have come to light. Those who believe that gender is something that you are born with, your biological self that differentiates you from your opposite (male/female). Then there are those who believe that gender is a social constructed aspect of ones life. What your parents and society label you the minute you are born. Examples being a girl wears pink, a boy wears blue. These colours are a significant symbol of assigning one a gender, for if they do not wear those colours (in some instances) then people will not be able to distinguish them this generally shown in a newborn babies case. Through a socially constructed perspective, certain ways of living are formed for each persons gender, in olden day New Zealand, women, at a certain point in time were assumed to stay at home, with the children and be good wives. Whereas men were to be in the labour force, whether it be working class, or in the higher areas of parliament. This was all up until the mid 1800s were the first wave feminism came into act. There are many aspects within a persons educational life, that can affect them greatly, gender being one of them. Depending on the job, a persons gender can hold major implications to their progression in that area. In modern day, gender still holds a major impact on a persons life, especially if they are females. All over the world there is still clear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction To avoid the breakage of eggs before reaching market, the eggshells needs to be as strong as possible. The strength of eggshells is mainly determined by the percentage of calcium carbonate in it. In order to monitor the quality of eggshells, the following experiment has to be done to determine the percentage of calcium carbonate in eggshells. In this experiment, back titration is used. First, excess acid is reacted with the calcium carbonate in eggshells: 2HCl(aq) + CaCO3(s) → CaCl2(aq) + H2O(l)+ CO2(g) Later, if we can find out the number of mole of unreacted acid, number of mole of calcium carbonate can ... Gandhi is a biopic produced by Richard Attenborough whose lifelong dream was to make the story of the national independence leader s life into a movie. The movie starts with Mohandas K. Gandhi, played by actor Ben Kingsley, rejecting all material possessions in pursuit of India s independence. The storyline plays out to highlight important aspect of Gandhi s life and ends with his assassination, where he utters the famous lines Oh god. Critics claim the movie is over exaggerated, however Attenborough does a fine job of bringing a visual of Gandhi s life into Western eyes. In addition, what could be a bad thing ends up being a good thing for the layman who watches this movie. Attenborough oversimplifies Gandhi s perspectives and ideas on social justice and religion, which leads to a very simple explanation of Gandhi s philosophy. Friedman, Joseph S. Essay on My Development as a Writer When writing a five paragraph essay, there are five steps one must fallow in order to attain perfection, these steps include understanding the question, brainstorming, writing a rough copy, revising, and creating a final draft. The first and most important step is understanding the topic. The topic of the essay is what the essay will be about and if this is misunderstood, the whole essay will be off course. The second step, brainstorming, will help organize thoughts and ideas so they flow amiably. The final step when writing a five paragraph essay is creating a final draft. This is the finished product and should include every aspect that an essay needs to get a point across. Such aspects like a proper introduction, a clear thesis, three supporting paragraphs and a conclusion that restates the thesis. Early American Indian Pottery History Introduction Ceramic making is still a popular tradition today in the Americas, especially on Native Indian Reservations, like in Western, North Carolina. The use of ceramics, however, is quite different than the way it was used by the natives during the Middle Woodland Period. Today, pottery is mainly made for decoration or art purposes by modern day Americans, but according to Wallis (2011), about 3,000 years ago the use of pottery became a very common use and practiced tradition among the native people who lived during that time period. The Swift Creek culture and the Cherokee Indians had very similar methods in formulating ceramics. The archaeological findings of these artifacts states that one group had been more advanced designs on their vessels. This reason is most likely because of the materials that one group was able to access in their area that the other group did not have available. One group was also more traditional and spiritual in making their vessels, which caused them to create more complex designs and methods while designing their ceramics (Block 2005). Though the answer may differ between different people, the main reason why most students dread school is because we have to go to school almost everyday and work, receiving no reward. There is nothing to look forward to in school and though the idea may sound absurd, students should get paid for good grades. School is work, it s difficult and it takes up our entire day, filling the rest of our free time with homework or topics to study.
