AS the air reverberates with the sound of rock from the Leeds Festival, at Bramham, I sorely
lament the lack of some culture and hope most sincerely that next year it will be possible for
Leeds City Council to support the Leeds Shakespeare Festival again.
It is so important to cater for all tastes, and not just to bow to the lowest common denominator. I
believe wholeheartedly that Shakespeare can be appreciated by all ages and classes, particularly if
performed by this most skilful and dedicated troupe, the British Shakespeare Company.
I have taken my two children (now aged 12 and 14) to the performances at Kirkstall Abbey since
they were quite small. They adored the spectacle, the language, the plot it was a marvellous
opportunity for them.
I feel desperately sad that this year they can wander about at Bramham and listen to the thundering
sound of Metallica and Tenacious D (which they love) but The Tempest or A Midsummer Night s

I recently read two poems entitled Island Man and The Fringe Of The Sea . They are both
similar in theme, but they also have many differences. Both poems are based on the emotions of
people who live near the sea and their feelings towards it. This theme relates to both of the authors,
and connects them; the author of The Fringe Of The Sea , A.L. Hendricks, was born in Jamaica
and later in life moved to Britain. Grace Nichols, author of Island Man , was born in Ghana and then

INTRO In the world we live in today, more employers than ever before are looking to hire
individuals who have experience with computer programming and coding. The growing job market
in this field requires that more students learn these skills in order to bring their knowledge into the
workplace. However, some students do not have this opportunity, as they have never been
introduced to computersciences. There are several reasons why this may occur, but one of the most
prevalent is that students from low income families do not have the necessary tools to learn and
enhance their skills. In order to prevent this misfortune, action must be taken. James M. Kouzes and
Barry Z. Posner say, in their book The Leadership Challenge, that, Meeting new challenges always
requires things to be different than they currently are. You can t respond with the same old
solutions (Kouzes and Posner 159). Thus, in order to prevent students with less opportunities to

course of action that would certainly help less fortunate students strengthen their skills in the field

Organic photovoltaic (OPV) solar cells are becoming an increasingly pragmatic alternative to first
and second generation cells when it comes to existing augmentation and future rollouts. Cheap to
construct due to a simplified printing process, they can even be made in consumer level 3D
printing processes. Unlike previous generations, they are much more flexible in design and
practical usage thanks to the wide variety of dyes, polymers, and natural elements that can be used
in construction. Pitfalls of OPV cells include their low lifespan and solar efficiency, but in 2013
Heliatek finished research on a cell that achieved a 12% efficiency rating, above the target mark of
10% for second generation amorphous silicon cells. Further research and development in OPV cells
will likely bring them into direct competition with previous generations. I.Introduction Solar
photovoltaic cells are catogorized into three generational groups. First generation cells are made
from crystalline silicon, expensive to construct, and offer little flexibility. Second generation cells
are made from amorphous (non crystalline) silicon, cheaper to make than crystalline, offer some
