Airport Parking For Small Regional Airports
Airport Parking In Small Regional Airports
Small regional airports struggle with leakage to larger airports that provide primary service to
metropolitan areas. Small catchment areas and few services to communities with smaller
population densities create a constant struggle for small regional airports to attract and retain
commercial air services (Wittman, 2014). Small regional airports must focus on increasing revenue
potential in order to fund operating improvements and must keep a high level of customer
satisfaction to retain old customers and obtain new customers. The Airport Cooperative Research
Program (2009) found that parking revenue is on typically 25% all airport revenue and is
approximately 40% or more of non aviation revenue. This makes airport parking the highest
revenue source of U.S. Airports, and is often used to provide funding to support other operations.
Airport parking is also in many cases the first and last point of interaction users will have with the
airport. The particular significance of this study is that it addresses parking supply needs for small
regional airports in terms of parking facility growth management and revenue retention needs.
Most studies look at primary hub airport parking supply needs, and do little to address the public
parking needs of small regional airports. Studies that look at small regional airports tend to focus on
the aviation revenue and space occupancy with little to no mention of aspect of non aviation
operations such

Adeline Yen Mah s Chinese Cinderella
Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah, is a very depressing story about a young girl, Adeline,
who lives in China. The story tells about Adeline s life of abuse, that includes whippings, verbal
abuse, withholding of food and parents who ignore her existence. Adeline is even abused by her
siblings who don t like her because she is bad luck. Adeline s birth led to the death of her mother
and because of this her whole familydoesn t like her. Growing up in a loving family makes this
story even more depressing as one learns how cruel others in the world can be to one another.
Then she is not fed by her parents. Lastly, she gets whipped by her father. How sad. This story is
very depressing because it has a lot of violence, including, the hitting of little kids. One of Adeline
Yen Mahs Quotes were, Never get involved. That s my motto. I hurt no one. And no one can hurt

She was trying to walk home after her first day of school because nobody came to pick her up.
So, she tried to walk home by herself, and got lost. Adeline s parents never care about her and
this is an example of thier lack of involvement in her life. She then went into the store to call
home, father picked up the phone, and drove to the store to pick up Adeline. After that, when she
got in the car, Father gave her a map to read. But, she doesn t know how to read a map. This
shows how out of touch her father is in regards to Adeline s life. Adeline is just a tiny little

Sped Student Reflective Report
A trend that surprised me was the students that are a lower academic level were more effective
with tools. For example Lan a student, I have had for 3 years is a SPED student that wants to be
a mechanic. I have a good relationship with Lan, however, during class, he was defiant, often
refused to work, and was a distraction. Yet he mastered using the compass in two attempts. I ask
him to help others use the tool to increase his confidence. This also allowed others to see him as
a valuable member of our class. I have observed Lan engaged more since and telling others to get to
work . He also began to join group work and help refocused other when off task, saying come on

For example, Bob told me he was having trouble at home. He was making poor choices, and his
parents are involved in some activities that are causing grandparents to try to gain custody. I also
consider the lack of support and education in the home. With this in mind, I give in class study time
and allow peer tutoring. Lan and Bob asked to work together to correct their formative assessment,
they were the only perfect scores on the summative. The students that were not in class for the
practice, but, were in attendance for the physical activities were able to correctly answer problems
where an object on a graph was to be transformed as demonstrated in questions 1 4 on the
summative assessment. Those students did not use tracing paper, the students that had the in class
practice did. The students that did not use the tracing paper struggled with questions 9 14 on the

hanging a banner between two poles as the banner has the potential to act like a sail by catching
the wind and becoming damaged. Support must be provided across the length of the banner to
avoid damaging the banner. In areas of high winds it is also advisable to order PVC Mesh

Sin In The Tokens Of Trust By Rowan Williams
Sin is the foundation of good and evil in today s society. Without out this factor there would be
no judging in society but peacefulness everywhere. We live in a society where sin is the tool that
runs our culture. When many of us consider What is sin? we think of violations of the Ten
Commandments. Some other people consider murder, adultery, theft, etc as sins too. In the Tokens
of Trust by Rowan Williams he illustrates the language of the orginal sin is a tangle that goes back
to our very roots of humanity . According to the Marriam Webster dictionary sin is defined as an
immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law.
The story of original sin takes place in the Garden of Eden Adam and Eve are the only humans on
earth at the time God tells them that they could eat from any tree in the garden except one. After a
serpent tricked them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He describes sin in this manner because when a person is committing, they do the opposite of what
is usually done, especially if their methods are not generally approved of. Going against the grain
often means thinking or acting outside the box, and thereby altering the established pattern.
Christians believe that our environmental crisis is a symbol of this corporate sinfulness. Jesus is the
ultimate result of our sinfulness because he carries the self distrustfulness of us human beings . (85)
The only subject that can break the cycle and reverse the flow of things is Fearlessness.
According to Rowan Williams there is no human in this world that has the ability to walk away
from the cycle of rejection and defence. The only way to break through is Divine Freedom; God s
Freedom has no trace of self interest or self defence. Jesus is the human event in history that
reverses the flow of human self abortion because it he is unconditionally open to divine

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Vicarious Liability
1.0INTRODUCTION
Liability is said to be vicarious when one person is thought liable for wrongs committed by
another. Vicarious liability is not a tort or a wrong in itself but a way in which liability may be
imposed: a person may be directly liable for their own torts or vicariously liable for torts committed
by third party. For example of vicarious liability in tort rise from the relationship of master and
servant, this effectively means employer and employee. The regulation is that an employer is
vicarious liability for the wrongful act committed by an employee in the progress of their
employment.
The common law rule is that an employer is responsible for the torts of their employees that are

Oral Health
Abstract What is the full meaning of oral health and its importance to general health and well
being? It is stated in the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial research that oral health is
integral to general health. According to the Namibian Dental Association, dentistry dates all the
way back to the early Egyptian civilization. One major barrier to oral health is the access to
insurance. Several American are without dental insurance and feel that they do not need to receive
routine dental visits. Many theories exist and more studies are underway to explore the connection
between good oral health and the overall health of a person. Oral Health is mostly affected in the

Rousseau pointed out that rational beings consent to have a government in order for them to have

enhancing a culture of good ethical behaviors. Additionally, failure to wear seatbelt is dangerous to

Ideology of Fundamentalist Islam Explained Essay
Introduction:
This essay concerns itself with exploring the Islamic and political orientation of Sayyid Qutb (1906
1966), an Egyptian civil servant turned political and religious activist, inspired by fundamentalist
Islam. To gain an understanding of what influenced and formulated Qutb s ideas it has been
necessary to provide some background information relating the history of modern day Egypt and
the emergence of reformist and fundamentalist Islam, from the 19th century until Qutb s time. The
essay also seeks to give some biographical information in order to provide a fuller picture of Qutb
the man.
Qutb s involvement with Egyptian religious politics caused him to come into conflict with the
Nasser government of 1950s Egypt and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The latter is the focus of this essay, however he cannot be discussed without some understanding
of the historical and political background to the tensions which are now evident between some
aspects of Islamic and Western thought. Yet the designation fundamentalist also deserves brief
consideration. For the purpose of this essay the term refers to Muslims who believe it is
necessary to return to the fundamentals of Islamic belief in order to express true Islam, this
necessitates a narrow interpretation of Qur anic texts and tradition. The term is problematic in
that it is drawn into the conflicting territory of description and taxonomy, especially when, as is
often the case, fundamentalism blurs the division between religion and politics. Is
fundamentalism religion in the service of political ideology or ideology veiled as religion?
(Moussalli (ed) 1998: 1, 27 28). A detailed discussion of these issues is not possible here, however
discussing the political and religious views of Sayyid Qutb may be of assistance in discerning the
political and religious dimensions of fundamentalism.
Islam, during its early years, was a dynamic force engendering rapid social change in the Arabian
peninsula and its environs during the 6th and 7th centuries, therefore its

Cultural Pluralism Course At The Harvard Implicit...
The first assignment in our Cultural Pluralism course was to take part in several individual
studies as part of the Harvard Implicit Association Test (IAT). Each of the studies measures a
person s attitudes and beliefs that they may not be willing or unable to express and to write about
our experience. For some individuals, taking these types of tests would be possibly a little
unsettling. As for myself, I was very sure that I had a strong understanding of who I am and what I
believe, so I thoughtthe results would not be very surprising. Since bias can occur at any phase of
research, including data collection I allowed the program to randomly choose three individual
studies so I could avoid the issue of potential bias by selecting only the ones that I had a personal
interest in. Allowing the program to choose would also ensure that I would get my true results
regarding how I really looked at issues because I wouldn t have any way of knowing how I
would answer the questions prior to the study. The first study measured my automatic association
of the concepts female and males with the concepts of lead and support. The data suggested that I
had a strong automatic association of Male with lead and female with support. No surprise there
since I have always association lead or leadership with the males in my life such as my father and
husband. They were the strong ones, who directed the family in all matters of importance. My
father was the head of the household and

Since the NHS formed 50 years ago, it was always their goal to decreasing the length of hospital

hospital. If a patient that is over the age of 65 is admitted and kept in for over 7 days, has more
chance of another admission within the following year. Readmission rates should be aimed to be
reduced and helping a patient to keep their independence should be realistic aims.

Ford Pinto Ethics Essay
Ford Pinto Case: The Invisible Corporate Human Pricetag
In this essay, I will argue that Ford Motor Company s business behavior was unethical as
demonstrated in the Ford Pinto Case. Ford did not reveal all the facts to consumers about a
harmful gas tank design in the Ford Pinto. They tried to justify their decision to sell an unsafe
car by using a Cost Benefit Analysis which determined it was cheaper to sell the cars without
changing to a safer gas tank. The price of not fixing the gas tanks is human injuries and fatalities.
By choosing not to make the Pinto a safer vehicle Ford placed a price on the head of every
consumer. Ford s primary concern was to maximize profits. Ford had a duty and ethical
responsibility to customers to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Pinto was not to weigh an ounce over 2,000 pounds and not to cost a cent over 2,000.
Iacocca enforced these limits with an iron hand, Lee Iacocca was known for saying Safety doesn
t sell . The Pinto was released for sale with the flawed design. There are a few concerns about
harmful behavior of the FMC that should be discussed. A behavior is harmful when it
wrongfully sets back the interest of others and has a high risk of harm. Obviously, the gravity of
harm in this case is very high being that it is life threatening. Once a consumer has purchased the
Pinto and drives it off the lot he is at risk to getting rear ended, and burned to death by a car fire
or explosion. Since the weight of this harm is very severe, the low probability of the consumer
having an accident doesn t discount Ford s unethical behavior. Indeed, driving a Ford Pinto would
place a consumer s life at risk. Also at stake are the interests of Pinto passengers and drivers of
other vehicles who certainly are not willing to risk their lives so Ford can make an extra buck.
Everyone has an interest in not getting injured or killed. Setting back the interest of consumers isn t
the only thing Ford Motor Company was responsible for.
Indubitably, the company wronged the consumers and passengers by violating their rights to not be
killed in a car fire and their right to minimal health

Subliminal Messages And Subliminal Stimuli
Every time that you see a billboard while driving down the road, a commercial during your favorite
regularly scheduled programing, or even advertisements that pop up while you are surfing the web;
you are unconsciously being bombarded by subliminal advertisements and there is a good chance
that you have never even noticed. Subliminal stimuli are found in numerous arrangements, and
effects, which lead to your subconscious taking in many of the subliminal advertisingtactics that
marketers use; and it is essential for you to realize how it can, or already has, affected you.

A good way to look at your subconscious is like the gas in your car that you drive. You obviously
know that there is gas in your car thanks to the fuel gauge and the fact that you physically pumped
and paid for it at the gas station; but when you turn the key and start your car you cannot see the
gas functioning to power the vehicle, and you don t really think about everything that it does to
make your car function while on your way down the road. A subliminal stimulus is found in this
subconscious section of our mind because they operate below the invisible line of what you are
presently aware of and are able to interpret by your subconscious (Biology Online, 2014).
The first understanding that there may be something other than our conscious that could influence
us came from a man named Sir Francis Galton in 1879. This belief would latter go on to inspire
much of Freud s theories of human behavior like the Freudian Slip, a time when unconscious
though gets blurted out during inappropriate circumstances (Gazzaniga, 2016). Since Galton and
Freud take on our subconscious we have advanced further to realize the term subliminal
advertising. This term first began during the 1970s and is described as the arrangements of words,

Analysis Of The Details Of Why Nice Guys Finish Last By...
Rozik Jemyan
Philosophy 101
Monday Night
Upon reviewing the details of Why Nice Guys Finish Last, the author Julia Serano emphasizes
that with society being the way it is, men tend to become bad boys because society and culture is
brought up to believe that the way to win a womans heart and attention is by being sexually
aggressive. Julia Serano argues that in order to recognize rape culture, we must first learn to
understand the predator / prey mindset. In this essay, I will argue that in order to neutralize the
predator / prey mindset, society needs to stop looking at women as the prey and the men as the
predators. I believe that if society learns how to overlook men as being hunters and women as the
prey, that would make the amount of rape occurrences drop massively.
In my past experiences I have ubiquitously heard throughout my life: Nice guys finish last. Women
don t want a man that is sweet and sensitive because it is a speculation that all women want a real
man. The comprehension of a real man in this society is taught to be someone who is dominant,
someone who leads and takes control. Nice guys continuously get turned down by women because
women are accustomed to see the sympathetic man as being unnatural and bizarre. In my opinion,
dominance and sexual aggression are the key ingredients in capturing a woman s attention. Womens
brains are stimulated automatically to set one s sights on a man who can protect them. Which is
why they fall towards the sexual

The Civil War And The Reconstruction Period Essay
Introduction: American Industrialization emerged from the ruins of the Civil War and the ... of the
Reconstruction Period. Spurred by the new manufacturing technologies brought over from Great
Britain, and the rest of Europe, factories and mills began emerging across the American landscape,
slowly transforming the United States from an agrarian society to one increasingly industrialized
and urbanized. From 1860 1900, the nation of rural towns, local crafts, family farms, and regional
business, became dominated by sprawling cities, enormous commercial farms and powerful
corporations. By the turn of the twentieth century, the United States of America, had become a
major power base, with the birth of factories and mills, the burgeoning of cities, the continued
westward expansion, and the creation of the transcontinental railroad. However, just as America
was welcomed into her glory, the country was riddled with the evils of poverty, mass consumerism,
labour disruption, and increasing political, cultural, and environmental conflicts. Prior to 1860,
America was a geographically isolated society, however with the advent of the transcontinental
railroad, America became interconnected. In 1861, Congress authorized the joining of the Central
Pacific and Union Pacific railways. The Irish immigrants, and Southern African Americans of the
Union Pacific railroad, and the Chinese immigrants of the Union Pacific worked tirelessly for eight

Research Paper On Cooperative Learning
Cooperative learning is an educational approach which aims to organize classroom activities into
academic and social learning experiences. There is much more to Cooperative Learning than
merely arranging students into groups, and it has been described as structuring positive
interdependence (Prasetyo,2012). Cooperative learningis a technique that allows students to learn
from each other and gain important interpersonal skills. Learn more about the benefits, strategies,
and techniques involved in cooperative learning ( Olsen, 2003). It is an organized and structured
way to use small groups to enhance student learning and interdependence. Students are given a task,

Unlike individual learning, which can be competitive in nature, students learning cooperatively can
capitalize on one another s resources and skills (asking one another for information, evaluating one

changes from giving information to facilitating students learning (Syahrir, 2011). Everyone
succeeds when the group succeeds. Ross and Smyth (1995) described successful cooperative

Woodrow Wilson Zeitgeist Essay
Zeitgeist: During President Wilson s zeitgeist was greatly influenced by the Civil war, which led
Wilson to be apprehensive about bringing the United States into World War I when he became
president. Wilson became the president of Princeton University on June 9, 1902 where he
constantly worked to reform the education and social aspects of Princeton, which were called the
Preceptorial System, where he hoped to bring students and teachers together in engaging in the
learning process. He viewed the creating of an educational community as a duty to, take men and
reintroduce them to the country as it is; to make them forget the interest of their fathers and to see
how the interests of all the people are linked together, (Clements, 29). Where... Show more content

During his presidency at Princeton, he fought against clubs based on exclusivity, where his
progressive reforms clashed with the wealthy trustees. Wilson was more concerned with forming a
system where students would be encouraged to self learn and have access to their professors as well
as having a community that would not only benefit the wealthy and privileged students. During his
presidency, Wilson instigated various reforms to benefit the population where the reformations
ensured that the U.S government would work towards improving the livelihood of its citizens. In
an interview with John Reed following his inauguration, Reed stated that President Wilson was,
more interested in principles than in politics, (Cooper, 125) which demonstrates how President
Wilson was concerned with public service, where he utilized his legal background to understand the
ideologies and philosophies that lay behind ordinances and policies where he wanted to achieve the
fundamentals of a progressive government. Wilson established the Federal Trade Commission to

Killer Whales Orcinus Orca
Introduction
Killer whales, Orcinus orca, are mammals, that are part of the Cetacea order, the Odontoceti
suborder and the Delphinidae family (Ketten, 1997). They evolved from land creatures, requiring a
multitude of adaptations so that the transition to water was successful. They live in all oceans, but
are most commonly found in cool, temperate waters (Strager, 1994).
Communication between killer whales is primarily used for reproduction, orientation and hunting
(Erbe, 2002; Holt et al, 2009). The three sounds that killer whales produce are echolocation clicks,
whistles and pulsed calls (Deecke et al, 2005). Clicks occur in a series and are short sounds used
for orientation and when finding prey; whistles are used for communication when ... Show more

This partly because the frequency ranges of boats and whales can overlap (Holt et al, 2009). If
whale individuals are unable to communicate with other members of their pod, there would be
less cohesion when hunting, difficulty in finding a mate, and an overall an increase in stress
(Holt et al, 2009). There have also been cases where boat motors have impaired the whales to
even detect their prey (Barrett Lennard et al, 1996). These anthropogenic, background sounds are
thought to interfere with communication between individuals by masking the whale s calls,
particularly if at specific threshold level (Foote et al, 2004). Ways that whales have been shown to
adapt include changing the amplitude and duration of calls (Foote et al, 2004; Holt et al, 2009). As
the background sounds increased by one decibel, the amplitude also increased by one

Why Did The Inca Created Terraces
The Incans were sophisticated farmers. They used very advanced and specialised techniques to
grow a huge variety of crops. The Incans created terraces to grow their crops on. They built
terraces on the hillsides for two reasons. First to make hillsides flat and second to suit the
different altitude requirements of different plants. By building the terraces on the sides of
mountains the Incans also enabled their crops to get more sunlight instead of planting in the
shaded valleys. The terraces were formed with stone walls and included steps to move from one
level to the next. The stone walls prevented erosion. The stone walls were also used as they would
heat up during the day and slowly release heat into the soil when temperatures cooled

Reflection Assignment On Gunsmiths
In this week s reflection assignment, I, watched a video on Gunsmithing tools. As a future
Gunsmith, I, will need to either; install or disassemble weapon parts, carry out repairs, design parts
or alter a weapon in some way to make it operational. Besides conducting repairs and modifications,
I, may also customize a weapon through decorative artwork such as; checkering, staining or making
wood carving designs. When handling any weapon, we must always ensure that the firearmis safe
and cleared before altering or fixing parts. When conducting any work either on weapons or for
weapons, I, always keep every tool in front of me on my table in sections.
As a future Gunsmith, although, I, will be primarily focused on creating under a Minute of Angle
(M.O.A) Sniper ammunition; I, will still need basic hand tools. Basic Gunsmithing hand tools like;
vises, hammers, punches; a screwdriver set, Torx wrench, bench block, pliers and files will all
prove to be invaluable in a workshop and will immediately pay for itself. In this profession, it s
essential to have precise measurements and attention to detail. Not all tools are immediately
needed to become a Gunsmith, as some people in this profession may function on the level of a;
weekend hobbyist, semi professional from home or even a professional at a gun range. In my
opinion and experience, the main goal of tool selection should be to; select only the tools needed
but of very good quality.
Frustration comes when working on a weapon and having a cheap tool fail or worse damage the
part. Regardless of the Gunsmith s experience level a person has, extra care of all items is
needed to convey our workmanship. Our workmanship will eventually travel by word of mouth
and achieve good or bad results due to the level of quality and effort put into even the smallest
part. When inspecting or repairing any firearm, no bench or shop is complete without the vise.
The vise is a tool the allows the Gunsmith to use both hands to repair or assemble parts by securing
the weapon in padded jaws.
The jaws of the vise should be padded with leather or a protective cloth, as this will protect the
weapons finish and uses a clamp for portability. To fit; butt plates, taper pins and free choke

Teaching And Learning At The City Of Athens Essay
Every school has its own story to tell. The context in which teaching and learning takes place
influences the processes and procedures by which the school makes decisions around curriculum,
instruction, and assessment. The context also impacts the way a school stays faithful to its
vision. Many factors contribute to the overall narrative such as an identification of stakeholders,
a description of stakeholder engagement, the trends and issues affecting the school, and the
kinds of programs and services that a school implements to support student learning. The
purpose of the Executive Summary (ES) is to provide a school with an opportunity to describe
in narrative form the strengths and challenges it encounters. By doing so, the public and
members of the school community will have a more complete picture of how the school
perceives itself and the process of self reflection for continuous improvement. This summary is
structured for the school to reflect on how it provides teaching and learning on a day to day
basis. The city of Athens is located in Limestone County in North Alabama surrounded by the
nearby cities of Madison, Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence. The city of Athens is comprised of
an approximate population of 23,000 people. The demographic makeup of Athens is 77% White,

Telehealth Benefits
Telehealth is remote exchange of data between a patient and doctor that facilitate in better diagnosis
of patients and monitoring typically used to support patients with long term conditions. How
telehealth improves the quality of care:
Telehealth uses technology to provide services that assist in the management of long term health
conditions. For patients, telehealth can be a blessing that allows them to remain in their homes
rather than moving to rehabilitation facilities. By taking an active role in their own care, some
patients are reducing the number of medications they take, visiting emergency rooms less
frequently and even lessening depressive symptoms.
There are real benefits for both the patient and the clinician. The individual patient has more control
and understanding of their long term health condition, and the clinicians utilising telehealth as part
of a care pathway can ensure that they are proactively involved in the ongoing wellbeing of their
patient, managing timely interventions and helping to improve their patient s quality of life.

solution to overcome the inefficiency that exists with the maintenance of their equipment; namely

sources, unspecified. We will analyze some possible solutions and weigh the pros and cons of the
possibility of leasing equipment. These two challenges facing this company are causing the quality

The fact that CBN has schedules to maintain and customers to satisfy through adherence to these
schedules tells the tale that CBN is in dire need of a good maintenance system. Through
implementation of such a system, they may also need to revisit the quality of expertise and
leadership within its labor force. Although they may go into a leasing agreement, a provision of
the lease forces them to still hold on to a labor force for maintenance of their locomotives.
Whether or not they choose to lease, this labor force must be elite in order to efficiently and
effectively provide adequate service to their equipment. The possibility of hiring on a Maintenance
Manager to oversee and run the maintenance department may be a viable possibility. Either way, the
main deficiency of CBN seems to be the lack of expertise or direction of personnel that maintain
their equipment, therefore, investing in maintenance leadership and expertise is a must for this
company.

Mrs. Smith is a stay at home mom as they just had their first child 6 months ago.
The Smiths chose the home they purchased partly because of its close proximity to many things
such as: schools, doctors and a town that is not too far from them. The close proximity to
everything needed feels like a warm and inviting community setting; therefore, some people live in
a community because it is where they grew up. Others choose a community because it is where
they found work, such as the Smiths were able to accomplish (Jackson Sinclair, 2011).
The Smiths home location has enabled them to budget the 500 mile a month limitation for now.
Urban sprawl has enabled a multitude of families to venture further from big cities into home
communities that are less expensive; however, the distance required to most amenities can be
vast. It is not unheard of for some workers to commute greater than 50 miles per day. This would
not be plausible if there was a 500 mile limitation on driving a personal vehicle. A typical month of
driving for the Smiths has been reduced to less than 500 miles; consequently, this makes the carbon
footprint they produce very small and saves them money along the way. The data presented in

American Gangster Analysis
When the Vietnam War began in 1955, America changed forever. News organizations televised the
war, inducing a communal sense of disenchantment throughout America s public that led to the
popularity of the anti Vietnam movement. This anti war movement eventually developed into a
counterculture that influenced a large amount of the public to experiment with illegal substances.
President Nixon saw drug abuse as a major problem and introduced a War on Drugs that
simultaneously allowed him to target minority groups and worsen racism within the government.
The film American Gangstertakes place during the 1960s, in the midst of America s chaotic drug
milieu. The film American Gangster does a wonderful job portraying America s countercultural
movement, yet falls short when portraying journalism during the Vietnam War and the negative
impact of Nixon s drug war on minorities.

Although Paulson, Kaplan, and Schussler have very good points about Hamilton, there are some
unfortunate things about the musical. Rebecca Onion author of, A Hamilton Skeptic on Why the

Although Hamilton plays a part in making colored men and women happy, some people see that
nothing really changes the fact they added different races in the musical. In Hamilton, if you listen
closely to the words they sing there is a lot of foul language in it. With that being said, it eliminates
the opportunity for little kids to enjoy let alone watch the musical. Another reason why Hamilton
has an unfortunate twist to it is because of the reflections that Alexander Hamilton puts on the men

Patriarchy And The Challenge Of Feminism Essay
Judith Bennett is a Medievalist Historian who has focused much of her research on English
/European women and feminist history (1 2). In her book History Matters: Patriarchy and the
Challenge of Feminism, she argues that feminism and history, specifically women s, need to be
more closely linked. This link, she argues, comes from taking theories and methods from one field
and applying them to the other in order to create a more indepth analysis of both. Bennett states in
her introduction that this text ...builds steadily from problem to solution to elaboration, and though
this statement holds, due to the brevity of this book, many aspects of this text are not well defined,
explored, or analyzed (4 5).
Throughout this text, Bennett uses feminist language, and indeed the word feminism without
properly defining the term. It is true that this book is aimed at an audience that is likely to known
these terms. Yet, by not giving a definition Bennett opens the floor for radically different
interpretations based upon where the reader s definition falls on the spectrum, from hating men and
wanting female superiority to wanting equality and justice for all regardless of sex, that defines the
various schools of feminism. Despite this lack of clarity, many of the arguments that Bennett makes
are still valid. Specifically, Bennett notes that the language of feminist and women s history has
changed from the biting and often uncomfortable rhetoric of 1970s feminism to more neutral

Essay about Cocoanut Grove Fire
From the Ashes Fire protection engineering, or the application of science and engineering to
protect people and their environment from fire, has been around for centuries. The problem with
advancements in this field is that they are preventative and, if ahead of their time, often seen as
unnecessary. As a result, they are usually not considered or implemented until after severe tragedy
has struck. A prime example of this is also the first recorded use of fire protectionengineering. In
AD 64, Emperor Nero had regulations drawn up that required fireproof materials used in the

Emotional Rhetorical In Dear Mama By Amaru Shakur
Tupac Amaru Shakur, a renown rapper, actor, a renown rapper, actor, and poet wrote the song
Dear Mama , to show his mother that through it all, he appreciates everything that his mother has
done for him. The author also praises his mother in the qualities she had, while also praising all
the mothers who go through the same struggles that she did just to take care of their kids. This
being that Tupac and his sister were raised single handedly for most of their lives by their mother
Afeni Shakur. In addition, at the time Tupac s mother had helped him not lose hope when he was
convicted of a false crime and sentenced to jail. In the song, the main message is a thank you to
Tupac s mother, along with appreciation to all mothers in general, and the three main strategies
the author uses to achieve this message is rhetorical questioning, repetition, and appeals to
pathos through emotional instances/examples. The first technique that Tupac uses to achieve
his message is rhetorical questioning. This can be observed through the lines, And who d think
in elementary, hey, I d see the penitentiary one day? In these lines, Tupac conveys the idea that
although he got in frequent trouble, his mother was still always there for him. This reflects on
the current issue at the time, that being Tupac s sentence in jail. In addition, the lines had a side
meaning of showing the struggles of dealing with a biased law, which at the time mostly applied
to people in Tupac s situation such as those with a low income background and being a minority.
However, this technique mainly serves to strengthen the fact that Tupac loves and appreciated
his mother, and giving a general appreciation to any mother who goes through the dedication for
their children. The second technique used by Tupac in the song was repetition. This can be seen
through the repeating of the lines, Lady, don t you know we love ya? (Dear Mama), Sweet lady,
place no one above ya (you are appreciated), Sweet lady, don t you know we love ya? These three
lines, composed by Tupac, Reggie Green, Sweet Franklin , was repeated in between the verses of
the song to help convey the message that Tupac being appreciative of his mother. It can also be

Video Game Violence And Its Effects On Gamers
Video Game Violence and its effects on Gamers In recent years there has been a significant
increase of shooting incidents, specifically in America. When there is a shooting event the media
is quick to question if the suspect had a history of playing violent video games. There is already the
initial connection between video game violenceand aggression; but is this connection scientifically
correct? This topic interests me because of the increase in school shootings and violence. I have
personally heard many times that video game violence has led to many adolescents to extreme
forms of violence. Through what has been said in the media I decided to research the topic myself.
This is a current event issue that is a present reality for many college students. Does video game
violence directly relate to human violence? Does video game violence effect aggression? Does
technological advances and violent content effect humans and their aggression? Does violent video

Start of The Renaissance in Italy During the 15th Century
The word Renaissance means rebirth. It was a period when people rediscoverd learning and
looking back to the classical civilizations of Rome and Greece for their inspiration. It was an
exciting time of new inventions and amazing discoveries, magnificent buildings and beutiful art.
My aim in this essay, is to explain why the Renaissance started in Italy during the 15 century. In this
essay I will talk about; The growing wealth of Italy, divided Italy, the classical period, humanists,
trade and exploration.
The main reasons of why the Renaissance started in Italy during the 15th century were the growing

The ancient ideas about beuty of mind, body and spirit, led on to a new philosophy, known as
humanism, which challenged the teachings of the medieval Church. Renaissance thinkers made
human beings, and human achivements, their main concern. They cared more about life in this
world, than about eternity. Most humanists did not reject altogether. But now they believed that, in
some ways, humans could be perfect, and almost equal to God. The discoveries by Renaissance
scholars in subjects as different as atonomy, music and maths all helped humanists. Scholars
considered shapes, such as squares and circles, to be mathematically perfect. They were delighted
that Roman architect Vitruvius had suggested that a perfect human body was naturally in harmony
with these perfect mathematical forms. They took this harmony as evidenve of a grand design , by
which the univese had been formed. Michaelangelo intended his painting to be more than just a
picture: it is a statement of humanist beliefs in the power and beuty of humankind. Michaelangelo
believed that without God, Adam could not live. Even so, he has portrayed him as strong, relaxed
and unafraid. Michaelangelo s painting shows us that, for some Renaissance artists,

Bernie Madoff Chapter Summaries
This book talks about how Bernie Madoff was a liar and a cheat to American society where
people got used betrayed and lied to because of him in belief they were going to becoming
wealthy. Madoff was the world s biggest thief that stole millions from people and destroyed
numerous lives. He made people believe they were going to get rich quick and that was his
incentive on getting people to participate in his schemes. The book reports how this crook used
his legal business as a broker dealer and his standing as an innovative creator of Nasdaq to attract
investors and avoid harsh scrutiny from the Securities and Exchange Commission. It described
how he parlayed the reputations of a few valued and respected investors and associates into large
followings in high class communities like the Upper East Side of Manhattan and Palm Beach,
and how he used feeder funds, which drove clients money to him, to extend his global reach.
Some of Madoff s victims include faces of Hollywood and the New York power elite. Kirtzman
says Bernie Madoff had an appetite for risk and a concerning superficial belief that he was
invincible to consequences.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How could they know that their fortunes didn t exist, and never had? How could they know that,
instead of Bernie fueling their extravagant lifestyle, they had been fueling his? (Kirtzman, 5). No
one was asking how Madoff or his minions would bankroll the returns they were guaranteeing.
No one seemed to mind that there was scant paperwork to go with his orders, or question why
receipts were being written on scraps of paper. No one was putting these pieces together and
questioning whether trades were being made at all. (Kirtzman, 51). These quotes from the book
depict how smart educated individuals could be so naive to his schemes. It goes to show how truly

Individualism In Ayn Rand s The Fountainhead
The Fountainhead written by Ayn Rand primarily revolves around the protagonist Howard Roark
and his struggle to maintain his individuality and morals in the face of opposing forces. Howard
demonstrates this struggle in the act of dynamiting the Cortlandt Homes and fighting for his
freedom in court. Throughout the novel, Howard s ego stands firm against public opinion, he does
not waver despite opposition in instances such as the construction of the Stoddard Temple, the
building of the Aquitania Hotel, and the erection of the Enright House. Howard s attitude correlates
to a main theme in the novel, which was that individualism is the more rational lifestyle. However,
Howard s rationale behind his actions was that moral law super secedes secular... Show more

Objectivism is the Philosophy of rational individualism and morality. (Thomas, n.p) It holds that
there is no greater moral goal than to achieve happiness; which is exactly what Howard strives to
achieve through creating building to please him, not others. Objectivism is optimistic, holding that
the universe is open to human achievement and happiness and that each person has within him
the ability to live a rich, fulfilling, independent life. (Matthew, np) Objectivism also praises
individuality and condemns altruism, stating that to achieve you must only help yourself.
Because of his beliefs, Howard feels that he does not require punishment for the explosion of the
Cortlandt homes. He also feels that because of the details of his ideals he had to destroy the
buildings. Bringing in the objectivist philosophy it was a matter of integrity; of which Howard
was very protective. He fights to keep his integrity and the destruction of the Cortlandt house was
the result. Howard chose to represent himself in the trial; during the trial, Howard chooses the
least sympathetic jury and makes his case by using a moving speech. Howard chooses that specific
jury, because he knew that if the jury did not have a basic understanding of the planks of
Objectivism then they would not have been able to comprehend and agree with his standing on the
destruction of the Cortlandt homes. He does not call any witnesses, yet

Herbal Treatment For Depression Essay
Natural treatments for depression entailing the use of herbal therapy are becoming commonplace
with the onset of herbal medicine in the mainstream of medical administration.
Renewed Attention To The Herbal Approach
Depression and anxiety treatments are gaining new, albeit actually traditional, grounds. Herbal
medicines used for the treatment of depression are becoming widely used. For example, St. John s
wort is gaining renewed and increased attention in its practical use to treat depression. Another herb,
the hypericum is even now beginning to overtake other pharmacological medications in the use for
depression treatment.

Take caution in using natural or herbal treatments especially when the depressed patient is pregnant
or is planning to be pregnant soon.
Adverse Reactions to be Expected
Going herbal and natural does not mean that these treatment options do not have adverse effects.
Moreover, mixing natural or herbal treatments for depression in combination with other
antidepressants may have different adverse reactions. So take note again if you are currently or
recently have been taking pharmacological medications or substances like MAOIs or monoamine
oxidase inhibitors, SSRIs or selective serotonin re uptake inhibitors, tricyclic medications,
medications for losing weight, drugs for Parkinsons disease, barbiturates and tranquilizers,
antihistamines, alcohol, IV drugs, and antibiotic medications.
Natural treatments for depression may or may have not undergone extensive testing and trials in
clinical environments. Consult your doctor at all times in the use of these natural treatments. These
herbal treatments must be taken only after your doctor s evaluation and prescription. Moreover,
doctor s instructions must be strictly adhered to.
Another Natural Option: Condition Yourself

Hence with higher gross income of households also means that Australians has higher disposable
income which allows them to spend more on dining outside. In real terms, spending on food has
increased 30 percent (over the past 20 years) while incomes have risen 36 percent, according to
the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry 2012 foodmap report. Thus, this
increases the bargaining power of buyers as Australians are able to spend more on food due to a
higher gross household income. A restaurant is characterized by their food standards and service
standards. The way how food is cooked and its taste differs from restaurant to restaurant. The key
to success for restaurants is by differentiation from other restaurants. For example, Manhattan
fish market signature dish is their flaming seafood platter whereby their sea cret agent would
flame it up when it is served this. While in comparison fish n co serves up their fish and chips in
different sauces according to the country s favorite sauce such as for Singapore; Chili crab, India

particular restaurant and is used to the taste he/she would come back again repeatedly. Thus since
the product on offer differs from restaurant to restaurant it makes the bargaining power of buyers

Mayan Influence On Guatemala
Guatemala is a multiethnic and multilingual country in Central America. The main population
groups separate Ladinos , mixed Native American African Spanish individuals, from Native
indigenous people of Mayan descent. Although she faced mistreatment and severe oppression by
the Ladinos she encountered, Rigoberta realized that unification was the only way to end
repression. She firmly believed that the barrier that divided the Indians and Ladinos was the sole
causative factor that kept the both factions oppressed by the wealthy government elite.
Similar to Martin Luther King Jr., she dreamt of a better life for her people. This dream required a
restructuring of society in Guatemala, as it did in the United States. Such restructurings, as the

The Conspiracy Theories And Social Issues
The phrase conspiracy theory is often expressed with a negative connotation and used as a label for
the explanation of outlandish incidents that are hard for the everyday person to comprehend.
Conspiracy theorists are often labeled as lunatics that spit out senseless claims with no real
substance. The mere mention of the word conspiracy seems to set off an internal alarm bell that
causes scholars to close their minds in order to avoid cognitive dissonance and possible
unpleasantness, since the popular image of conspiracy both fundamentally challenges the
conception most educated, sophisticated people have about how the world operates... (Bale). What
is often unspoken is that conspiracy theories have a real effect on the political... Show more content

A 2012 National Election Study found that the conspiracy theory has to ideologically be in line with
what the person already believes. Conservatives aren t going to jump on a conspiracy theory that

liberal causes (Jackson). A similar survey carried out by the New York Times complements the
previous study s results and states that In total, the percentage of Democrats who agreed on
average with the conspiracy claims in the scale increased from 27 percent before the election to 32
percent afterward. By contrast, Republicans willingness to endorse conspiratorial claims declined
after the election over all and for three of the four statements, pushing down the percentage of
Republicans who agreed on average with the statements from 28 percent to 19 percent. (Nyhan).

Disney Theme Parks
1.As stated in the book International Business, there are three major operating objectives that
encourage businesses to engage in international business. These three objectives include expanding
sales, acquiring recourses, and to minimize risk. I feel that Disney was motivated by all three of
these aspects, and possibly others when deciding whether or not he should move more of his
business abroad. After seeing how successful the two theme parks in the United States were doing,
the next option would be to expand. By expanding the parks into five international parks, Disney s
theme parks outside the United States would reportedly exceed that inside the country. I think that
Disney also wanted to diversify and to let others experience... Show more content on

If these changes were not made, the problems would cause Disney to go bankrupt. After finding
an investor, Disney immediately took action. The company lowered their prices, agreed to make
French the first language, terminated the no alcohol policy, and took on more promotional
projects to advertise the park more efficiently. Another great contribution to making Disney Paris
a success was the French government. The government decided to expand the Paris railway and
connect it to the park. This would allow the park to be joined to the rest of Europe. 4.In my
opinion, yes, I think that Disney should set up a park in Shanghai. The other parks that have
been opened and running for a few years have shown great success. I think this is a perfect city
to create and begin another Disney theme park. Shanghai is a successful and fast growing city
full of trading and profit. Because there is so much traveling and tourists going through China,
Shanghai s Disney theme park would attract a vast majority of these people to their park. China
is also extremely over populated and will have plenty of local families visiting the park to give
their children the Disney experience. The builders of this theme park need to be aware of the mass
amount of people who will be visiting the theme park, and take in to

  • 2. Airport Parking For Small Regional Airports Airport Parking In Small Regional Airports Small regional airports struggle with leakage to larger airports that provide primary service to metropolitan areas. Small catchment areas and few services to communities with smaller population densities create a constant struggle for small regional airports to attract and retain commercial air services (Wittman, 2014). Small regional airports must focus on increasing revenue potential in order to fund operating improvements and must keep a high level of customer satisfaction to retain old customers and obtain new customers. The Airport Cooperative Research Program (2009) found that parking revenue is on typically 25% all airport revenue and is approximately 40% or more of non aviation revenue. This makes airport parking the highest revenue source of U.S. Airports, and is often used to provide funding to support other operations. Airport parking is also in many cases the first and last point of interaction users will have with the airport. The term is problematic in that it is drawn into the conflicting territory of description and taxonomy, especially when, as is often the case, fundamentalism blurs the division between religion and politics. Is fundamentalism religion in the service of political ideology or ideology veiled as religion? (Moussalli (ed) 1998: 1, 27 28). For some individuals, taking these types of tests would be possibly a little unsettling. As for myself, I was very sure that I had a strong understanding of who I am and what I believe, so I thoughtthe results would not be very surprising. Since bias can occur at any phase of research, including data collection I allowed the program to randomly choose three individual studies so I could avoid the issue of potential bias by selecting only the ones that I had a personal interest in. Allowing the program to choose would also ensure that I would get my true results regarding how I really looked at issues because I wouldn t have any way of knowing how I would answer the questions prior to the study. The first study measured my automatic association of the concepts female and males with the concepts of lead and support. The data suggested that I had a strong automatic association of Male with lead and female with support. Rozik Jemyan Philosophy 101 Monday Night Upon reviewing the details of Why Nice Guys Finish Last, the author Julia Serano emphasizes that with society being the way it is, men tend to become bad boys because society and culture is brought up to believe that the way to win a womans heart and attention is by being sexually aggressive. Julia Serano argues that in order to recognize rape culture, we must first learn to understand the predator / prey mindset. In this essay, I will argue that in order to neutralize the predator / prey mindset, society needs to stop looking at women as the prey and the men as the predators. I believe that if society learns how to overlook men as being hunters and women as the prey, that would make the amount of rape occurrences drop massively. In my past experiences I have ubiquitously heard throughout my life: Nice guys finish last. Women don t want a man that is sweet and sensitive because it is a speculation that all women want a real man. The comprehension of a real man in this society is taught to be someone who is dominant, someone who leads and takes control. Nice guys continuously get turned down by women because women are accustomed to see the sympathetic man as being unnatural and bizarre. In my opinion, dominance and sexual aggression are the key ingredients in capturing a woman s attention. Womens brains are stimulated automatically to set one s sights on a man who can protect them. The Incans created terraces to grow their crops on. They built terraces on the hillsides for two reasons. First to make hillsides flat and second to suit the different altitude requirements of different plants. By building the terraces on the sides of mountains the Incans also enabled their crops to get more sunlight instead of planting in the shaded valleys. The terraces were formed with stone walls and included steps to move from one level to the next. The stone walls prevented erosion. As a future Gunsmith, I, will need to either; install or disassemble weapon parts, carry out repairs, design parts or alter a weapon in some way to make it operational. Besides conducting repairs and modifications, I, may also customize a weapon through decorative artwork such as; checkering, staining or making wood carving designs. When handling any weapon, we must always ensure that the firearmis safe and cleared before altering or fixing parts. When conducting any work either on weapons or for weapons, I, always keep every tool in front of me on my table in sections. As a future Gunsmith, although, I, will be primarily focused on creating under a Minute of Angle (M.O.A) Sniper ammunition; I, will still need basic hand tools. Basic Gunsmithing hand tools like; vises, hammers, punches; a screwdriver set, Torx wrench, bench block, pliers and files will all prove to be invaluable in a workshop and will immediately pay for itself. In this profession, it s essential to have precise measurements and attention to detail. Not all tools are immediately needed to become a Gunsmith, as some people in this profession may function on the level of a; weekend hobbyist, semi professional from home or even a professional at a gun range. In my opinion and experience, the main goal of tool selection should be to; select only the tools needed but of very good quality. Frustration comes when working on a weapon and having a cheap tool fail or worse damage the part. Regardless of the Gunsmith s experience level a person has, extra care of all items is needed to convey our workmanship. Our workmanship will eventually travel by word of mouth and achieve good or bad results due to the level of quality and effort put into even the smallest part. When inspecting or repairing any firearm, no bench or shop is complete without the vise. The vise is a tool the allows the Gunsmith to use both hands to repair or assemble parts by securing the weapon in padded jaws. The jaws of the vise should be padded with leather or a protective cloth, as this will protect the weapons finish and uses a clamp for portability. To fit; butt plates, taper pins and free choke ... In her book History Matters: Patriarchy and the Challenge of Feminism, she argues that feminism and history, specifically women s, need to be more closely linked. This link, she argues, comes from taking theories and methods from one field and applying them to the other in order to create a more indepth analysis of both. Bennett states in her introduction that this text ...builds steadily from problem to solution to elaboration, and though this statement holds, due to the brevity of this book, many aspects of this text are not well defined, explored, or analyzed (4 5). Throughout this text, Bennett uses feminist language, and indeed the word feminism without properly defining the term. It is true that this book is aimed at an audience that is likely to known these terms. Yet, by not giving a definition Bennett opens the floor for radically different interpretations based upon where the reader s definition falls on the spectrum, from hating men and wanting female superiority to wanting equality and justice for all regardless of sex, that defines the various schools of feminism. Despite this lack of clarity, many of the arguments that Bennett makes are still valid. Specifically, Bennett notes that the language of feminist and women s history has changed from the biting and often uncomfortable rhetoric of 1970s feminism to more neutral ... The problem with advancements in this field is that they are preventative and, if ahead of their time, often seen as unnecessary. As a result, they are usually not considered or implemented until after severe tragedy has struck. A prime example of this is also the first recorded use of fire protectionengineering. Emotional Rhetorical In Dear Mama By Amaru Shakur Tupac Amaru Shakur, a renown rapper, actor, a renown rapper, actor, and poet wrote the song Dear Mama , to show his mother that through it all, he appreciates everything that his mother has done for him. The author also praises his mother in the qualities she had, while also praising all the mothers who go through the same struggles that she did just to take care of their kids. This being that Tupac and his sister were raised single handedly for most of their lives by their mother Afeni Shakur. In addition, at the time Tupac s mother had helped him not lose hope when he was convicted of a false crime and sentenced to jail. In the song, the main message is a thank you to Tupac s mother, along with appreciation to all mothers in general, and the three main strategies the author uses to achieve this message is rhetorical questioning, repetition, and appeals to pathos through emotional instances/examples. The first technique that Tupac uses to achieve his message is rhetorical questioning. This can be observed through the lines, And who d think in elementary, hey, I d see the penitentiary one day? In these lines, Tupac conveys the idea that although he got in frequent trouble, his mother was still always there for him. This reflects on the current issue at the time, that being Tupac s sentence in jail. In addition, the lines had a side meaning of showing the struggles of dealing with a biased law, which at the time mostly applied to people in Tupac s situation such as those with a low income background and being a minority. However, this technique mainly serves to strengthen the fact that Tupac loves and appreciated his mother, and giving a general appreciation to any mother who goes through the dedication for their children. The second technique used by Tupac in the song was repetition. This can be seen through the repeating of the lines, Lady, don t you know we love ya? (Dear Mama), Sweet lady, place no one above ya (you are appreciated), Sweet lady, don t you know we love ya? These three lines, composed by Tupac, Reggie Green, Sweet Franklin , was repeated in between the verses of the song to help convey the message that Tupac being appreciative of his mother.
