A conceit is an extended metaphor. The conceit begins when the speaker uses the metaphor, Nicely

begins by saying that the character is handsome and great looking but by comparing him to a
mushroom makes the Bourgeois gross because he is talking about a poisonous mushroom that people

suck life out of dead leaves. Sucking life out of dead leaves compares to the Bourgeois being lazy and
not working to earn his own money, instead he is taking the money from either his dead parents or
relatives. The author then extends the metaphor even longer by having the speaker announce, he s

really grabbed my attention. Judicial Activism and Judicial Restraint are two different ways to
interpret the constitution and its laws. Both interpretations have their own strengths and weaknesses,

Stare Decisis plays a large role in Judicial Restraint. Stare Decisis is sticking to an established ruling
that was handed down by past judges or jurors. A form of judicial restraint is called the political
question doctrine, and it is significant in understanding this interpretation of the law. The political
question doctrine is when a court acknowledges that the constitution is violated but does not decide to
act. There are plenty of examples of Judicial Restraint throughout our history but the one that stands
out the most in my mind is Gore Vs. Bush. In this case the Florida supreme courts methods of
recounting the presidential ballots was considered and ruled as having violated the Equal Protection
Laws which is under the fourteenth amendment in a presidential election. Everyone seems to know
that something wrong was done, but no one really understands what happened. Before this debate I

Many personal and professional life experiences have been my motivation to pursue a degree in Social
Work. Although I was unaware that this would later be my profession of interest, my personal life
situations caused me to have to come into contact with a few social workers. The social workers that I

abuse, emotional instability, and domestic violence. My interest from pursuing a career as a parole

Throughout many years, military deployment has affected the family system. Especially young
children are effected by their parents shipping overseas since they are still are trying to figure out how
to cope without guidance during their development into adult years. In this particular study,

view of World War Two. This film portrays a pessimistic view of the war using documentary footage,

sentiment was on the rise and the memory of World War Two was being reshaped. The usage of
documentary footage in the film gives the audience a real view as to what happened during the D Day

The Importance Of Social Media And Social Relationships
Recent times have shown an exponential growth in terms of innovation and technology. Because of
this it is vital that we examine the importance of social media in the way we maintain and create
relationships, and how that has affected how happy we are. In this paper I will be arguing that the use
of technology is necessary in order to sufficiently maintain and create better relationships which
increase our overall level of happiness. Relationships are the key to our happiness. According to
psychologist Alt Markman, our relationships help create a sense of belonging which increases our
overall happiness (Markman). Factors such as longing working hours, and global migration have led
to increased social isolation. Social media allows us have to constant connection with others, helping
us build upon and strengthen the relationships we have started, thus solving the problem of social
isolation.
The first reason social media is necessary for us to create sustainable new relationships is the lack of
time people have in today s society. Zeynep Tufekci, a sociology professor at UNC writes that social
isolation has risen not because of social media, but because of obstacles such as ... long working hours
... (Tufekci). Moreover, A Harvard Business School survey of 1,000 professionals found that 94%
worked at least 50 hours a week, and almost half worked more than 65 hours which is significantly

there. There is no way of knowing if other civilisations would even welcome contact with us. It would
be completely reasonable to suggest that maybe they are lying low, hoping we don t ever notice them.
After all, we could be hostile and a threat to them for all they know. Once we have located them, they
may feel that it is possible we could come to visit, bring advanced weaponry and possibly even
