Who Is St Gertrude s Piety
Saint Gertrude of Nivelles is the patron saint of cats. Saint Gertrude was a seventh century abbess who
with her mother Itta founded the Benedictine of Nivelles in present day Belgium. Saint Gertrude was
never formally canonized but Pope Clement Xll declared her feast day March 17. Furthermore
Gertrude s was born in Landen,Belgium in 626 and died in Nivelles in 659. She was born a nun and
after her mothers death she was appointed abbess at only 20 years old. She was known for her
hospitality to pilgrims and her aid to missionary monks from Ireland.By the same token She also gave

Most representations in art of Saint Gertrude depict her as an abbess with mice rats and or cats. She is
commonly seen running up her pastoral staff or cloak are hopeful looking mice representing the Souls
in Purgatory to which she had an intense devotion to. Saint Gertrude s piety was first seen when she
was ten years old when she turned down the offer of a noble marriage declaring that she would not
marry him or any other man because Christ alone would be her groom. Saint Gertrude is not only the
patron saint of cats she is also the patron saint of the recently deceased, gardeners, travelers, those
with Mental Illness, and those with a morbid fear of Mice and or Rats. Saint Gertrude was a very
inspiring person who someone can take a lot from. She was brave enough to stand up to her elders and
turn down a marriage proposal to be with her forever groom Jesus Christ. She is an inspiring strong

nowadays, the naturally formed fuels in the world are depleting. Within the limit of fifty years or
more, all the fuels found in the earth will be vanished. The main reason for this depletion is due to
increase in population and the production of vehicles. We the Engineers can overcome this by
developing a new generation vehicle called Solar Hybrid Vehicle. This vehicle can run through solar
energy as well as electricity. So only this is called as Solar Hybrid Vehicle. In last years, as a
consequence of the diffusion of Hybrid Electric Vehicles and to the growing recourse to renewable
sources, increasing attention is being given to the integration of these vehicles with photovoltaic
panels. Hybrid Solar Vehicles might represent a valuable solution to face both energy saving and
environmental issues, particularly in case of intermittent use in urban conditions, but relatively little
research effort has been spent in this direction. Here it is proposed to have a parabolic point focusing
type solar collector to receive the energy. This paper mainly aims at the usage of

What Is Okonkwo s Role In Igbo Society
Since the civilization of the African continent the natives were seen as uncivilized and wild. Achebe
throughout Things Fall Apart works to counter these very stereotypes. Set in an Ibo village in Nigeria
during the start of European civilization, the book focuses on the main character Okonkwo and his
prideful life to give insight on the true nature of Ibo culture. Achebe uses the abstract concept of the
patriarchal society and importance of conversation to humanize the Ibo people. Seen in the interaction
between Okonkwo and his wives, this matter illustrates the influential role of the patriarch in Ibo
society. Speaking of his role in society Okonkwo gives the advice that, if [a man] was unable to rule
his women...he was not really a man (Achebe 53). Based off of Okonkwo s advice we know the men
in Ibo society hold the power over their families and if they can not control their family that they are
not really a man. Okonkwo demonstrates the power he holds over his wife and children many times,
often going too far. For instance, during the Week of Peace Okonkwo beats his wife Ojiugo when she
went out to a friend s house without notice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Achebe explains that, the art of conversation is regarded very highly, (Achebe 7) among the Ibo.
Because the Ibo people care for how their conversations are carried out, one would guess that they are
educated and knowledgeable enough to be able to do so. In some ways one might consider them to be
able to have even more intricate conversations then we do today. When the Europeans arrive in
Umuofia they do not quite understand the Ibo people. The District Commissioner even complains of,
[the Ibo people s] love of superfluous words (Achebe 204). The words that Ibo people use in
conversation is even baffling to the Europeans. This can make one say that in some ways the Ibo
people are more advanced than the

The Value Of Anne Frank s Diary
Anne Frank was a German Jewish teenager who was forced to go into hiding during the Holocaust.
She and her family along with four others spent over 2 years during World War 2 hiding. On her 13th
birthday, Anne received a diary as a gift from her parents. At first, she finds it a little unusual to be
writing in a diary. Anne would write short stories and read the stories to others for entertainment. Anne
thought of the diary as a friend that she could tell anything to, she even gave it a name Kitty . Anne
enjoyed writing because she wanted to be a journalist when she grew up. Anne Frank died on March
12, 1945, due to Typhus Fever. The Diary of Anne Frank was published on June 25, 1947.

The relationship between the therapist and the client is non directive. The therapist is supportive, non
judgmental and does not work out what the client s problem is; this is the client s work. In other
words, the therapist merely facilitates self actualization by providing a climate in which clients can
freely engage in focused, in depth self exploration (Person Centered Therapy, 2007).
In fact, according to Rogers (1957), the relationship is based on three therapist characteristics or
attitudinal conditions that need to be present in the therapeutic environment:
Congruency (or genuineness): . . .within the relationship (the therapist) is freely and deeply himself,
with his actual experience accurately represented by his awareness of himself . . . and . . .he is what he
actually is, in this moment of time . . .
Unconditional Positive Regard: . . .the extent that the therapist finds himself experiencing a warm
acceptance of each aspect of the client s experience as being a part of that client . . .

My Life After The World
Margaret Mead once said: Never believe that a few caring people can t change the world. For, indeed,
that s all who ever have. This quote certainly holds true for me. When I was in elementary school, a
caring man changed my life without knowing it. In second grade, my mother signed me and my little
sister up for ice skating class. For an extremely brief time period, I had visions of becoming a figure
skating prodigy, but they immediately dissipated as soon as I stepped onto the ice. I couldn t take a
step without slipping, but I was terrified of falling. To get to the area of the arena where the class was
taking place, I had to hang onto the side of the wall and slowly push myself sideways.
When class started, the teacher first taught us to skate across the ice by stepping outward with our
skates. Our first task was to skate across the ice arena. I felt like I was two again. I took tiny baby
steps across the ice, afraid to fall. I wasn t sure why I was deathly scared of falling. I was bundled up
in snowpants and a heavy winter coat, so falling wouldn t have hurt much anyway, and it wasn t like
falling was an extremely horrible mistake. But I was afraid to take a big step and fall. In life, I have
never wanted to take big risks. I was always careful not to make a mistake and look like a fool.
I looked ahead. My sister, Grace, was already halfway to the other side of the ice arena. She fell again
and again, but got back up and skated faster with each fall. Every time she

Comparing Macbeth And Throne Of Blood

Character Comparison: Macbeth Throne of Blood
In the tragic play by Shakespeare, The Tragedy of Macbeth Macbeth, and the Japanese film, Throne of
Blood, many characters are direct parallels of each other. There are many similarities and yet, key
differences within each of the characters. Macbeth and Washizu share many of the same character
traits, as do their wives, Lady Macbeth and Asaji, respectively. We can also see these similarities
between Banquo and Miki and the three witches and the Forest Spirit. Macbeth and Washizu are
subject to their ambition and fear as they ascend to kingship, while Lady Macbeth and Asaji are
plagued by their desire for social status and wealth. Banquo and ... Show more content on

They both have the will to manipulate and command the actions of their husbands and show
tremendous resolve to gain wealth and status. However, there are some key differences between Lady
Macbeth and Asaji. Lady Macbeth s mental health takes longer to decline into almost complete
insanity. We see Lady Macbeth struggling with her position after becoming Queen. She is stressed
about keeping the throne secure and is not as happy as she thought she might be. It takes a while but
eventually she cracks and has somewhat of a mental breakdown. Asaji on the other hand keeps her
composure throughout most of the film. She is obviously concerned about succeeding in her
endeavors but she was able to keep her focus unlike Lady Macbeth. It is only very suddenly that she
suffers the same fate as Lady Macbeth. Both women are found washing nonexistent blood from their
hands while sleepwalking. One other crucial difference between the two women is their role as women
within their respective societies. Lady Macbeth does not wish to be treated like a woman at all. At one
point in the play she even says, Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill
me from the crown to the toe topful of direst cruelty! (Shakespeare 1.5:40 44) Asaji takes a vastly
different path when it comes to her role as a woman. Her body language within the film shows that
she is willing to take on her role as a prominent

Address To The Swedish Peace In Congress 1909
What is peace? To me peace is non violence, The act of not killing and solving issues formally in
person or on paper. Peace cannot be implemented if we are killing other people and countries and
letting our neighbors and love ones die. If we can prevent people dying then what is stopping us?
Negative peace is when violence ends. While positive peace is where it ends but brings either a change
for the better or is positively impacted. This class covers so much content it was honestly really hard
for me to pick out two major strands of the course that I found most interesting. My Opinion is that we
should not have to solve our issues by killing. One of my favorite readings was Chapter eight, Address

fighting in the war are in religions that believe Thou shalt not kill but because it s war and fighting for
your country it s not actually the same thing? No, It s exactly the same thing. If Thou shalt not kill
then war should not exist. Yet no one really understood that concept because no one was ever brave
enough to say something about it. Just like the story of the parable of the Emperor s New Clothes. A
king who is naked but no one says anything about it because only brilliant people wear that type of
clothing, but then a little boy notices that he s naked and everyone was in shock because now that it s
been stated they have to question why is this strong powerful man clothing less? Why are we hurting
and killing when all we want is peace? Why has war gone on

Best Practices For Network Security
Best Practices for Network Security Network security, in this technological age, should be one of the
most important items of concern for any business owner or network administrator. Since just about
every company out there is connected to and conducts some sort of business over the Internet, just
about every one of them is at risk from outside threats. This means that they should take certain steps
in order for them for them to conduct their business securely. Beyond the initial steps, it must be
known that there is no end to network security as it is a process that is continuous. The goal of this
paper is to discuss some best practices that companies should follow in order to provide adequate
protection.
Recent examples In recent years, there have been a number of big name companies that have fallen
victim to security breaches. In 2011, Sony s PlayStation Network suffered a massive breach and as a
result some 77 million user s accounts, containing names, addresses, e mail addresses, birth dates,
usernames, passwords, and possibly credit card numbers, were compromised (Baker Finkle, 2011).
Another, more recent, breach took place earlier this year. JP Morgan Chase had a similar breach this
summer in which over 76 million retail clients and over 7 million business clients saw their personal
information compromised (Avoyan, 2014). While there was no evidence of account numbers or other
financial data being compromised, the mere fact that a bank this size could be

violent elements of the Black Panther Party. One of their main goal was to take up arms for the
liberation of the black people in the United States.
Some of their Ideology are anti capitalist, anti imperialist, anti racist and anti sexist. What made them

The Koala Essay
The Koala
Inroduction
The koala is the Australian jewel. It has very furry, ash colored hair, a rubbery black nose, sharp claws,
fuzzy ears, and a grizzly personality, or should I say, koalality. If you kill a koala, you ll make a
million off their fur! They would sell the fur to coat companies and make coats out of koala fur.
Well, sadly enough, too many people are making millions on koalas. That s why they re endangered
species.
Habitat
The koala is distributed along the eastern coastal semi tropical forests of Australia, ranging from north
Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and a small area in the south of Australia.

It has slowed down a lot since it was first introduced to the koala population, but the virus is still
going around (chylamydia psittaci is an endangered virus.) The koala population is also still falling
due to destroyed habitats. The developers are coming into koala habitat and cutting down eucalyptus,
selling it and building homes. By the 2030 s, the koalas will have no place to live. Now, sadly, in
Sydney, koalas must cross the street to get to another eucalyptus tree. They have to go to another
eucalyptus tree every once and a while because that tree is the same tree from the same forest.
A lot of koalas are now becoming roadkill.
General Information
The koala is a one of a kind animal. It is the only one of its kind.
There are two sub species of koala though, in which there is the tiniest difference. The southern one
has a darker colored fur than the northern because it is colder in the south. The koala has only one
relative, the wombat. Koalas and wombats share a common ancestor from some 25 million years ago
on the landmass Lauasia (an ancient landmass that separated to make South America,
Africa, and Australia.) Most people think that the koala is related to bears, that is not true, the koala is
an aboreal (tree dwelling) bear. Most people also think that the koala is not harmful, that s wrong. The
koala is more like a grizzly bear than a teddy bear. The koala is dangerous

Driving Vs Text Analysis
Throughout history the need to communicate with one another has been essential to the success of any
civilization. With the necessary need to communicate, the manner in which we communicate has
evolved. Ways to communicate have gone from repeatedly telling stories over and over again through
generations, to now, being able to communicate with someone in seconds, on other side of the world.
Now with one device, the phone, you can communicate not only in seconds with someone but
communicate in multiple ways. One such way is the texting or messaging method. Having the
capability at any moment to receive and reply to a text has its advantages but also has unintended
disadvantages. That ability can distract the sender and receiver while performing tasks leading to an
accident. Driving is one area that has seen a rise in accidents because of the distraction. Texting during
inappropriate times can distract both sender and receiver, creating unsafe moments, which can lead to
accidents; accidents that otherwise would not have happened, therefore what can be done about
texting and driving? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This empirical study looks to investigate the consumer trends of the students of Coventry University
London Campus (CULC). The aim of this study is to see what the students at CULC prefer in terms of
technology. Today a smartphone is able to do all the functions that a computer can normally do and
with the passage of time, we see the grasp of smartphones and tablets getting firmer on our lives.
According to Ahmed (1991, p.25) a clear and strong brand image of can drastically increase the

It helps them to better understand the customer segment that is probably the largest chunk of their
market share. They understand as to what brand is preferred by students, what their age and gender is
and most importantly, how much are they willing to spend on technology. This helps them to make
future decisions that can be vital for the company. Alongside this, it also gives them an understanding
of competition and helps them analyze how far ahead or behind the market they are and accordingly
steps can be taken in the future by the company.
For this study, we used surveys using surveymonkey.com and a sample of 66 students was taken
altogether. This sample helps us analyze the student preference for brands and the time and money
they spend on technology.
Sample
The survey that was conducted on surverymonkey.com was circulated to the students of CULC on 1st
November 2014. The responses that we got were from 66 students and the pie chart below shows the
gender of the respondents:
The chart above shows us that 68.18% of the respondents were males and the remaining 31.82% were
females. Overall the responses that we got from the survey were satisfactory and they give us a
reasonable representation of the student preferences for technology here at CULC. However, we must
recognize that this sample is not an entire representation of the student body here at CULC. People

Psoriasis Benefits
Psoriasis is a poorly understood condition best known for its negative impact on the skin. Its best
known symptom is scaly, dry patches of itchy skin.
Many people seem to think this means it is merely a minor annoyance, not a serious medical
condition. This is not true. It is an autoimmune condition that impacts overall health, not just the skin.
Furthermore, the skin is the single largest organ of the human body. It plays serves a numbers critical
purposes, from protecting the body from infection to regulating temperature. Many people fail to

People who mean well, but who simply have no idea of what they are going through, can be the bane

2. Be passively supportive
When someone you care about is suffering, your first impulse can be to do something about it. You
want to help. You want them to stop suffering.
But, when there is no cure, the patient may try all the things there are to try and still be symptomatic.
The odds are very good that your friend already knows all the tricks and tips. They already tried that

work, it isn t a cure.

you can help them. Hearing dozens of times a week about the latest miracle cure gets exhausting and

After analysis, you can find that the competitors are not only the players, and other transportation can
also impact on airlines. The strongest competitive force is the airline which can determine the
profitability of an industry and of are of greatest importance in strategy formulation. Like other
industries, you need to compete in all of the aspects, such as product quality, service and so on. As you
know, air transport has a certain risk, so you must make your customers feel safe. The fare is

Distribution channels shall improve the profitability. Set up distribution outlets throughout the
country. Facilitate the customers around the country, and increase profits for themselves. Government
policy shall limit the development of airline, such as air pollution, water pollution, saving energy and
so on. The airline must meet these requirements, and otherwise the government shall limit their
development.
Formulate strategy for coping with competition. The intense competition in airline industry is neither
coincidence nor bad luck, as long as you formulate a set of detailed strategy plan, and you shall have

How Did The Silk Road Influence The Spread Of Buddhism
In the fifth century BC, in the eastern parts of ancient India, Buddhism was born. This faith was based
on the teachings of Siddhārtha Gautama, and is one of the oldest religions today. As it spread along
trade routes in Central, East, and Southern Asia, it evolved. Buddhism influenced most of the Asian
continent at some point. An important part of the spread of Buddhism was the Silk Road. These trade
routes were not only used for goods, but also for belief systems, one of these being Buddhism. The
Silk Road influenced the spread of Buddhism by encouraging intercultural exchange, by influencing
the language and meaning of Buddhist texts, and by providing leaders control of the way Buddhism
spread.

Hip Hop Chemistry
The Chemistry of Hip Hop Many people don t know that hip hop is deeper than just rapping. Hip hop
consists of many distinctive things. There are different dynamics within hip hop, and they all create a
vibrant and complex sound. For example, hip hop includes the art of djing, emceeing, dance, and
poetry. All of these aspects have made hip hop what it currently is today. Hip hop is at times frowned
upon because of the misunderstanding of hip hop culture. It has many misconceptions while people
don t see that it does have an actual history that has shaped America. Hip hop was born at a birthday
party in the Bronx in the recreation room of an apartment building at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue. There
was a man who lived there. It was the birthday girl s brother, Clive Campbell, also known to history as
DJ Kool Herc, the founding father of hip hop. DJ Kool Herc was born and raised in Kingston,
Jamaica. He lived there until the age of ten. DJ Kool Herc began djing at parties and between sets, his
father s band played while he was a teen in the Bronx in the early 1970s. Herc often emulated the style

Introduction: The periodic table is the most important chemistry reference there is. It arranges all the
known elements in an informative array. Just like when entering a grocery store similar items are
grouped together which makes an item easier to find. Elements are arranged left to right and top to
bottom in order of increasing atomic number. The different rows of elements are called periods. The
period number of an element signifies the highest energy level an electron in that element occupies.

Traditional Therapy or Counselling Coaching
Primary Life Focus The focus is on the person s past. Deals with healing emotional pain or conflict
within an individual or in a relationship between two people. Some forms of therapy e.g., Brief
Solution Focused and CBT focus on the future. Focuses on a person s present, in order to help them
create actionable strategies for achieving specific goals in one s personal and work life and act
towards the future. The emphasis in a coaching relationship is on action, accountability. A highly

Essay on The Daoism and the Confucianism in Han Dynasty
The Daoism and the Confucianism in Han Dynasty
Yang Yu
History 135: Imperial Chinese History
Professor: Robert J. Culp
Paper I
March 4th, 2011
The Daoism and the Confucianism in Han Dynasty As the dominant philosophical school for around
two thousand years in Chinese imperial history, Confucianism is always regarded as the most
representative ideology of China, associated with numerous books, poems, artworks and stories that
glorify Confucianism s permeation into every corner of Chinese society. However, before Han Wudi,
Confucianism was only one of those competing philosophical schools founded in Spring and Autumn
period. During the Warring States period and Qin dynasty, Legalism took place of all other
philosophical schools ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it is always easy to start the process of centralization but difficult to maintain the state of
centralization. Faced with this knotty problem, Wudi adopted Confucianism, which underlined the
moral basis of superior subordinate relations, appreciating that in the long run the ruler would achieve
his goals more easily and economically when his subordinates viewed their relationship with the ruler
in moral terms of loyalty and responsibility (65). In fact, Han s Confucianism is not the same as the
Confucianism during the period of the Spring and Autumn or Warring States. It is a special status of
Confucianism. As Ebrey writes in his book, Han Confucianism itself was eclectic, fortifying itself
with precepts and philosophical concerns drawn from what had been competing philosophical schools
in the pre Qin period (77). Different from the traditional Confucianism, Han s Confucianism
assimilated thoughts from Legalism, Daoism and other schools, such as Moism s thought of universal
love (兼爱) and yin and yang school s thought of five phases (阴阳五行论). Han Confucians sought
ways to comprehend the world around them as a self generating and self sustaining organism
governed by cyclical yet never replicating flows of yin and yang and the five phases (fire, water, earth,
metal, and wood) (78). Han Confucians thought that if one of these phases was disturbed, the whole
system would

Conservative Viewpoints
Conservatives and liberals have completely different views of the purpose of government. Like two
ends of a stick, their views are against one another although they should be the same. However, there
is always a moderate position that can satisfy both extreme ends. As our title states, we should be
united. My personal beliefs and ideals would be assisting me when finding the moderate views, for I
m neither a conservative nor a liberal; I believe in pleasing both ends, which, despite the stories, can
be possible.
The first portion of the preamble states that the purpose of government is to establish justice. While
conservatives believe that justice only means punishing the criminal (Hardisty), liberals believe that

citizens, to provide protection for the individuals. Conservatives don t trust the police, as the police
force is a part of the government. Similar to how liberals don t trust anyone with a weapon, seeing
many homicide stories have made the headlines. As a moderate, I ve done researches on how other
countries control their government and I found one weapon control from Japan to be very suitable for
our own use in the United States. The idea benefits both sides of the party; the common individuals
are allowed to have weapons for their own protection but only when they have taken classes and pass
a certain test of mental and physical health to prove their fitness. A background check is also permitted
to prevent any member of criminal or extremist groups to have such weapons. Then a file is kept along
with all gun owners in that area. Every few years, the individual could take their weapon to the police
for inspection and any broken parts. Every few years, the individual would also retake the fitness tests
to ensure they are still very able to keep the firearm. This includes to all police members as well. That
would be gun control, it s not taking away a person s right to bear

Eventually, this endeavour became successful, but they were still not top dog on the gaming market
because of Halo s established hierarchy. So here was a multi platform game rivaling an exclusive
Xbox title. However, at this time, Halo remained the King of the Hill. So, through several adoptions
taken from already present games, Infinity Ward (the developers of CoD) finally felt a fit to their
game, which was applied their installment Call of Duty: Modern Warfare . This game received
massive success on release, becoming the second best selling shooter on the xbox 360, just under Halo
3. Reason for its success was due to it s multiplayer which consisted largely of player rewards and in
game unlocks to keep the player interested. Because of this success and Activision s title a year
contract, which involves two developers releasing a CoD every year, CoD quickly became the most
popular shooter on the market. So naturally, developers would use some aspects from call of duty and
include them in their very own game. Except, instead of taking just a few features, developers found
themselves painting over their entire installments with call of duty elements. Almost every developer
did this to CoD, creating carbon copies of the already aggrandized game. CoD s multiplayer has been
ripped on so much that most of modern day shooters have no variety. Other developers see the success

Coming Of Age By Anne Moody
The famous leader Martin Luther King once said, Being a Negro in America means trying to smile
when you want to cry. It means trying to hold on to physical life amid psychological death. It means
the pain of watching your children grow up with clouds of inferiority in their mental skies. It means
having their legs off, and then being condemned for being a cripple. This quote pretty much summed
up the way in which African Americans felt during the 1960 s. They had basically no meaning to life.
They were irrelevant. Whites wanted no part in them. This was especially the case in the state of
Mississippi. Anne Moody, writer of the autobiography, Coming of Age in Mississippi explains the
importance of the civil rights movement in the state of Mississippi and the influence it had on her life
and her viewpoint.
Growing up as a poor African American in Mississippi was not always an easy, especially in the 1960
s. It was a time where everyone was segregated. Blacks and whites were treated completely different.
They weren t allowed to eat at the same restaurants, go into the same bathroom, or even drink from the
same water fountain. Anne Moody did just that. As just a young girl being raised by extremely poor
black family in the South, she personally experienced the difference between the lives of blacks and
whites. She was growing up in the middle of the civil rights movement, where African American
struggled everyday. At a very young age Moody became challenged by many instances

The Importance of Jack s Character in Golding s Novel Lord Of The Flies
Golding s novel Lord of the Flies follows the story of a group of boys stranded on an isolated desert
island. There is no figure of authority on the island and as their delicate sense of order fades, their
behaviour stats to take on a more savage significance.
At the beginning of the novel, Jack is the most obvious leader. The reader is introduced to Jack near
the end of the first chapter, as he leads the choir to the meeting. Jack is described as the boy who
controlled them before Golding even tells the reader his name. The word controlled hints that Jack is a
dictator, as is shown later in the novel.

He thinks he should be the Chief and dislikes Ralph from the beginning because he feels that Ralph
took the power that should rightfully be his.
Ralph and Jack are very similar, and can be contrasted because they are both natural leaders. In a way,
Ralph and Jack are the same person, but both have different priorities, and different leadership styles.
Ralph is democratic and selfless, associated with order and control and tries to be fair. Jack, however,
is a dictator, with a selfish leadership style, his priorities being only himself and hunting. Jack
demands respect, whereas Ralph earns it. The point of this is to show that although two people may
have the same qualities, the choices made by the people make a difference; it shows how the same
person can turn out just because one chooses savagery and one chooses order and democracy. Ralph
and Jack show the two kinds of mankind good and evil.
Jack is the only boy whose last name we learn. This is because the choir call him Merridew which
shows that even at this point in the novel, Jack has authority and power. The fact that the choir use his
last name is quite militaristic, but also is a way of Jack denying his identity and trying to make himself
more powerful than he is. It is as though Jack does not want to be seen as a child, but as a figure of
authority. This is also shown when Jack assumes he

Pixar sees its creativity supporting structure as a competitive advantage based on the fact that all nine
released films were huge commercial successes and scored with critics (Catmull, 2008). Additionally,
Pixar never hat to buy scripts or movie ideas from external sources. After the article was written, Pixar
released fived more films. All of them were again commercial successes, but critics consistently
received Cars 2 of 2011 as Pixar s First Bad Movie (Tyler, 2011). After 2008 and after the adaption of
Pixar s organizational structure Disney Animation Studios released seven new films, they showed an
enormous increase in critical ratings and an overall decent financial success (Kays, 2013).

1.0 Introduction Beer is an immensely popular beverage, but it is one that is associated with a
particular country. German beer in fact is seen as the king of all beers. Around the world, Germany s
beer is one of the most respected varieties, in part due to the strict legislation that governs brewing,
but also because it seems that the German people take great pains to brew a good beer. It is customary
and part of their social structure. The majority of people in Germany socialize in pubs, unlike the
United States where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brewing beer grew to be a respectable profession (2002). A student writing on this subject might want
to note that while it was a profession at the time, today s beers are generally made by large companies.
It has been proven that the production of good quality beer demanded certain temperatures, but
temperatures at the time prior to refrigeration were only available during the winter ( German beer,
2002). The invention of refrigeration made it possible and did allow for beer to be brewed year round
(2002). Another important development was the discovery of microorganisms and after that, the
science of the fermentation process had finally been established (2002). 4.0 Location: Where the Beer
is Made With the increase in exports, Germany developed world famous beer cities by the time the
1300s rolled around ; Bremen had been the midpoint for beer exports to England, Holland and
Scandinavia ( German beer, 2002) . Hamburg had been the brewery of the Hanse but By 1500 there
had been about 600 breweries there alone (2002). The Hanse exported beer and some clients were as
far away as India (2002). Braunschweig and Einbeck is aligned with bock beer and they are also
considered important beer cities (2002).
Munich is an important city for beer and the locale where Spaten beer is made. Of course, German
beer is found in Germany, but due to its reputation, it is a major export.

Long Term Development Policy Paper
Developing Policies Which Optimize Long term Service Sustainability for Vulnerable Infrastructure
Kevin L. Clark, Auroop Ganguly Abstract The Mission of the U.S. Department of Transportation is to
ensure all Americans are served by a fast, safe, efficient, accessible and convenient transportation
system that meets the nation s vital national interest and enhances the quality of life today and in the
future. The airport and National Airspace System (NAS) play a key role in achieving this mission.
That said, approximately 70% of the United States (U.S) air traffic is managed by staffed air traffic
control (ATC) facilities with an age range of 30 50 years[footnoteRef:1]. The Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) is responsible for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Government Accountability Office, Report to Congressional Requesters, September 2013, GAO 13
757] INTRODUCTION One of the Federal Aviation Administration s (FAA) primary modernization
goals is to implement policies that ensure their 1,230 facilities enable robust Air Traffic Control (ATC)
services to meet air traffic demand requirements in a safe and efficient manner for all citizens. These
facilities provide the foundation for which the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen)
programs are built on. The challenge of maintaining such complex airport and facility infrastructures
is in the assessment of needs and implementing a clear upgrade and sustainment prioritization strategy
that supports those needs. Similar to large private organizations the FAA utilizes business policies that
identify requirements, mitigate risk to staff and operations, and accelerate performance. However, to
often the expectation of seeing an immediate measurable change given a strategy has been
implemented is misguided. Evidence has shown policy changes display their impact in long term gains
or losses not short term. (Toyoda, 1991) The purpose of this research is to build a simulation model to
investigate the dynamics of modernization investment policies in the development of long term
service availability for all ATC facilities.

Double-Stranded Breaks
In human cells, a combination of normal metabolic activities, errors in DNA replication, and external
mutagens like radiation can lead to 1 million individual molecular lesions per cell per day. Therefore,
DNA repair mechanisms are constantly active to help ensure that these molecular lesions do not lead
to various diseases. One such form of DNA damage includes DNA double stranded breaks (DSBs), a
complex form of DNA damage that affects both strands of the double helix at the same point. These
breaks are dangerous for the cell as neither strand can serve as a template for repair. Nonetheless, the
cell can repair DSBs using several pathways, namely Non Homologous End Joining (NHEJ),
Microhomology mediated End Joining (MMEJ), and Homologous

Within the limit of fifty years or more, all the fuels found in the earth will be vanished. The main reason for this depletion is due to increase in population and the production of vehicles. We the Engineers can overcome this by developing a new generation vehicle called Solar Hybrid Vehicle. This vehicle can run through solar energy as well as electricity. So only this is called as Solar Hybrid Vehicle. In last years, as a consequence of the diffusion of Hybrid Electric Vehicles and to the growing recourse to renewable sources, increasing attention is being given to the integration of these vehicles with photovoltaic panels. Hybrid Solar Vehicles might represent a valuable solution to face both energy saving and environmental issues, particularly in case of intermittent use in urban conditions, but relatively little research effort has been spent in this direction. Here it is proposed to have a parabolic point focusing type solar collector to receive the energy. This paper mainly aims at the usage of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. What Is Okonkwo s Role In Igbo Society Since the civilization of the African continent the natives were seen as uncivilized and wild. Achebe throughout Things Fall Apart works to counter these very stereotypes. Set in an Ibo village in Nigeria during the start of European civilization, the book focuses on the main character Okonkwo and his prideful life to give insight on the true nature of Ibo culture. Achebe uses the abstract concept of the patriarchal society and importance of conversation to humanize the Ibo people. Seen in the interaction between Okonkwo and his wives, this matter illustrates the influential role of the patriarch in Ibo society. Speaking of his role in society Okonkwo gives the advice that, if [a man] was unable to rule his women...he was not really a man (Achebe 53). Based off of Okonkwo s advice we know the men in Ibo society hold the power over their families and if they can not control their family that they are not really a man. Okonkwo demonstrates the power he holds over his wife and children many times, often going too far. For instance, during the Week of Peace Okonkwo beats his wife Ojiugo when she went out to a friend s house without notice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I was in elementary school, a caring man changed my life without knowing it. In second grade, my mother signed me and my little sister up for ice skating class. For an extremely brief time period, I had visions of becoming a figure skating prodigy, but they immediately dissipated as soon as I stepped onto the ice. I couldn t take a step without slipping, but I was terrified of falling. To get to the area of the arena where the class was taking place, I had to hang onto the side of the wall and slowly push myself sideways. When class started, the teacher first taught us to skate across the ice by stepping outward with our skates. Our first task was to skate across the ice arena. I felt like I was two again. I took tiny baby steps across the ice, afraid to fall. I wasn t sure why I was deathly scared of falling. I was bundled up in snowpants and a heavy winter coat, so falling wouldn t have hurt much anyway, and it wasn t like falling was an extremely horrible mistake. But I was afraid to take a big step and fall. In life, I have never wanted to take big risks. I was always careful not to make a mistake and look like a fool. I looked ahead. My sister, Grace, was already halfway to the other side of the ice arena. She fell again and again, but got back up and skated faster with each fall. Every time she ... It takes a while but eventually she cracks and has somewhat of a mental breakdown. Asaji on the other hand keeps her composure throughout most of the film. She is obviously concerned about succeeding in her endeavors but she was able to keep her focus unlike Lady Macbeth. It is only very suddenly that she suffers the same fate as Lady Macbeth. Both women are found washing nonexistent blood from their hands while sleepwalking. One other crucial difference between the two women is their role as women within their respective societies. Lady Macbeth does not wish to be treated like a woman at all. At one point in the play she even says, Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe topful of direst cruelty! Faced with this knotty problem, Wudi adopted Confucianism, which underlined the moral basis of superior subordinate relations, appreciating that in the long run the ruler would achieve his goals more easily and economically when his subordinates viewed their relationship with the ruler in moral terms of loyalty and responsibility (65). In fact, Han s Confucianism is not the same as the Confucianism during the period of the Spring and Autumn or Warring States. It is a special status of Confucianism. As Ebrey writes in his book, Han Confucianism itself was eclectic, fortifying itself with precepts and philosophical concerns drawn from what had been competing philosophical schools in the pre Qin period (77). Different from the traditional Confucianism, Han s Confucianism assimilated thoughts from Legalism, Daoism and other schools, such as Moism s thought of universal love (兼爱) and yin and yang school s thought of five phases (阴阳五行论). Han Confucians sought ways to comprehend the world around them as a self generating and self sustaining organism governed by cyclical yet never replicating flows of yin and yang and the five phases (fire, water, earth, metal, and wood) (78). Another important development was the discovery of microorganisms and after that, the science of the fermentation process had finally been established (2002). 4.0 Location: Where the Beer is Made With the increase in exports, Germany developed world famous beer cities by the time the 1300s rolled around ; Bremen had been the midpoint for beer exports to England, Holland and Scandinavia ( German beer, 2002) . Hamburg had been the brewery of the Hanse but By 1500 there had been about 600 breweries there alone (2002). The Hanse exported beer and some clients were as far away as India (2002). Braunschweig and Einbeck is aligned with bock beer and they are also considered important beer cities (2002). Munich is an important city for beer and the locale where Spaten beer is made. Of course, German beer is found in Germany, but due to its reputation, it is a major export. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Long Term Development Policy Paper Developing Policies Which Optimize Long term Service Sustainability for Vulnerable Infrastructure Kevin L. Clark, Auroop Ganguly Abstract The Mission of the U.S. Department of Transportation is to ensure all Americans are served by a fast, safe, efficient, accessible and convenient transportation system that meets the nation s vital national interest and enhances the quality of life today and in the future. The airport and National Airspace System (NAS) play a key role in achieving this mission. That said, approximately 70% of the United States (U.S) air traffic is managed by staffed air traffic control (ATC) facilities with an age range of 30 50 years[footnoteRef:1]. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is responsible for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Government Accountability Office, Report to Congressional Requesters, September 2013, GAO 13 757] INTRODUCTION One of the Federal Aviation Administration s (FAA) primary modernization goals is to implement policies that ensure their 1,230 facilities enable robust Air Traffic Control (ATC) services to meet air traffic demand requirements in a safe and efficient manner for all citizens. These facilities provide the foundation for which the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) programs are built on. The challenge of maintaining such complex airport and facility infrastructures is in the assessment of needs and implementing a clear upgrade and sustainment prioritization strategy that supports those needs. Similar to large private organizations the FAA utilizes business policies that identify requirements, mitigate risk to staff and operations, and accelerate performance. However, to often the expectation of seeing an immediate measurable change given a strategy has been implemented is misguided. Evidence has shown policy changes display their impact in long term gains or losses not short term. (Toyoda, 1991) The purpose of this research is to build a simulation model to investigate the dynamics of modernization investment policies in the development of long term service availability for all ATC facilities. ... • 45. Double-Stranded Breaks In human cells, a combination of normal metabolic activities, errors in DNA replication, and external mutagens like radiation can lead to 1 million individual molecular lesions per cell per day. Therefore, DNA repair mechanisms are constantly active to help ensure that these molecular lesions do not lead to various diseases. One such form of DNA damage includes DNA double stranded breaks (DSBs), a complex form of DNA damage that affects both strands of the double helix at the same point. These breaks are dangerous for the cell as neither strand can serve as a template for repair. Nonetheless, the cell can repair DSBs using several pathways, namely Non Homologous End Joining (NHEJ), Microhomology mediated End Joining (MMEJ), and Homologous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
