The Pros And Cons Of Internet Hacking
Internet hacking is considered a white collar crime, which means it is a nonviolent crime; however, it
involves deceit, corruption, and a breach of trust. Internet hacking can be involved with identity theft
and fraud involving credit cards, e commerce, and securities. All of those crimes can be considered up
to a felony depending upon how serious the offense was. One of the first laws dealing with the
computer crimes dates back to 1984 when the Federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act was passed.
The act prohibits accessing a computer without the authorization, or in excess of authorization. The
act has been amended multiple times, the most recent being in 2008. Richard Mann and Barry Roberts
say, The Act makes it a crime with respect to any computer that is used in interstate commerce or
communications (1) to access or damage it without authorization, (2) to access it with the intent to
commit fraud, (3) to traffic in passwords for it, and (4) to threaten to cause damage to it with the intent
to extort money or anything of value (Mann and Roberts 111). A case that correlates with this act is
LVRC Holdings LLC. V. Brekka. In 2009 Brekka who had previously worked for LVRC was
allegedly hacked information about clients and using it to start his own business to compete against
LVRC. Even if an employee accesses a computer for an improper purpose, the employee remains
authorized to access the computer until the employer revokes the employee s access. The ruling ended

Mozart And Beethoven s Musical Origins
Haydn began his musical career as a choirboy in Vienna up until the age of 17. Mozart and Beethoven
s musical origins are similar, both coming from families with musical backgrounds. Mozart s father
taught him and his sister before taking them to tour throughout Europe. Beethoven also studied with
his father before receiving his study abroad opportunity in Vienna in 1792. After serving as a choirboy,
Haydn found himself in need of a means to make a living. He was barely able to support himself as a
freelance musician. Haydn s first serious position occurred around 1757 when he became music
director for Count Morzin. It was also around this time that Haydn began to write some of his first
symphonies. Most of Haydn s earlier symphonies were three movement works (fast slow fast),
somewhat like the Italian opera overture. Other symphonies were four movement works arranged
much like a sonata de chiesa. In 1761, Haydn began working for the Esterházy princes, spending
nearly 30 years at the Esterházy court. He composed at every wish of the Esterházy princes; any work
they demanded. Haydn s duties included conducting, training, and supervising all musicians, and
maintaining instruments. He built an orchestra of 25 players His time at Eszterhaza really influenced
the success of his career; Haydn got to hear his work in excellent performances. Because Esterhaza
was so isolated, vsitors would often keep him in the loop about music events in other locations. Haydn

Randy Love At Your Service By Shay Carter
Randy Love... at your Service by Shay Carter is a fictional book ideal for days when you need
something relaxing to read. This light reading is, in my opinion, a male version of Bridget Jones.
Randy Love, the main character of this book, in his early twenties, began the process of independence.
Moving from his parents house and searching for a job are required to accomplish that goal. His
egocentricity and ignorance make that process a bit difficult, but also make the story interesting. On
the other hand, with the help of his charm, he succeeds in taking advantage of many situations.
Changing to different jobs and accommodations, he manages to find the right path for him to fulfill his
desires. His friends and family help him to overcome

Biography of Winston Churchill
The year was 1940; the world s second great World War was in full swing, with Britain and Germany
at the forefront. The fall of Britain s closest ally, France, stunned the British Empire and threw it into
disarray. Through the chaos, Winston Churchill emerged. Churchill would be an inspiring leader who
was able to rally the entire nation in times of hardship. Through his leadership, the British Bulldog
would face the Axis powers and come out victorious, as well as become a public hero for the British
people. Yet, immediately after the war, Churchill did not return to the prime minister seat because of a
shocking defeat in his re election, despite his immense reputation he gained from the war. Though
lauded by the British population for his prowess as a wartime leader, Churchill s conservative politics
were out of touch with a population ready for post war relief and led to his defeat in the 1945 election.
Churchill got his conservative politics from being raised in the Victorian era Britain, where he learned
to be ambitious, and have a strong sense of independence (Ben Moshe 8). This unrelenting ambition
Churchill obtained would earn him his reputation, and lead to his loss in the 1945 election. Churchill
practiced conservative politics, because he lived in an era when Conservatives ruled parliament
(Havighurst 63). At the turn of the century, however, conservative practices would soon become
outdated. It was with the emergence of the Liberal Party, that public opinion

The Debate Over Abortion Essay
With the ongoing debate and the advancement of technology in determining the viability of a fetus,
abortion, the ending of a pregnancy by removing a fertilized egg, has become increasingly
controversial. The morality of abortion has caused many to separate into opposite sides of the
spectrum, pro life and pro choice. The arguments over abortion has stirred a continuous debate
between a pro choice stance such as that presented by the analogical reasoning of Thomson or Glover
s examination of social context and a pro life position argued by a moral view of personhood by
Noonan. The ethical arguments presented by the conflicting views in the abortion debate has caused
others to taken into consideration a sociological account visible in ... Show more content on

Thomson concludes that it does not matter whether or not a fetus is a person because even if a fetus is
granted a right to life, it is not accurate to assume that abortion is murder (2, Thomson, CC p.192).
Murder is an intentional act that is unjustified while abortion is not direct killing but results in the
death of the fetus. For instance, in cases involving rape or other conditions of unintended pregnancies,
a woman undergoing abortion is not necessarily committing murder since she was not responsible for
an unwanted pregnancy. Therefore, in no case should the personhood of the fetus determine the
morality of abortion. Thomson suggests that having a right to life does not grant the right to use
another person s body (3, Thomson, CC p.191). In other words, the fetus s right to life does not apply
to any moral obligation of the mother s body. Abortion is justifiable because there is no obligation on
part of the women for an unwanted pregnancy. In the case of the sick violinist, the kidnapped person is
not morally obligated to make sacrifices and save the life of the violinist. Since the violinist has no
right to use another person s body, it would not be considered murder or a violation of the violinist s
rights if the kidnapped person was to refuse and pull the plug. On the other hand, John Noonan

Polar Ice Caps Melting
In this essay I express how the melting of the polar ice caps in the North Pole is affecting the survival
of habitats of organisms around the world. The common misconception is that only polar bears are
suffering from global warming. Because of rapid climate change in multiple areas around the globe,
many organisms are unable to live in their normal habitat. They are unable to adapt to these new
conditions as fast as they are changing. There are many effects of global warming that is affecting the
livelihood of many animals and in this essay I will explain how the effects are hurting the earth s
population of animals.
What is Global Warming? Global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth
s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon
dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants. The Green House Effect is the process in which the
absorption and emission of infrared radiation by gases in the atmosphere warm a planet s lower
atmosphere and surface. These greenhouse gases traps some of the heat emitted by the Earth. The
problem with global warming is that is an anthropomorphic problem. The human race is polluting and
misusing our earth. The people here on earth have substantially increased the quantity of CO2 in the
atmosphere. This is a result of burning fossil fuels, coal, oil and gas emissions from automobiles. The
quantity of CO2 36%is higher than in preindustrial times. The more

In the long run all lasting motivation is self motivation. In connection to this, the important thing that
mangers must maintain is understanding each employee needs and how they pursue the fulfillment of
those needs, keeping in mind that at all times all people are seeking need satisfaction and that a fully
satisfied need doesn`t motivate behavior. Once a need is satisfied it s no longer a motivator, but the
level at which it s satisfied must be maintained improved or it will become a dissatisfier. This is
precisely why a periodic pay increase seems so important to an employee the increase that s granted
does little or nothing to motivate the person to perform, but if the increase isn t forthcoming then pay
becomes a dissatisfier. From the above point what we understand is motivating forces are of course
largely psychological in their influence, so as long as pay is perceived a fair and there s a reasonable
sense of job security it should follow that lasting motivation comes mostly from the fulfillment of
psychological needs and little from material rewards. In general, the most effective obtainable means
of motivating employees are recognition, respect, inclusion, fair treatment, and satisfying and
fulfilling work than pay (money). Pricing job Before continuing our discussion on job evaluation it is
better to understand what we mean salary and benefit. Salary is a

How Did The Seven Days Battle Of 1862
The Seven Days Campaign of 1862 was a sequence of battles that took place along the Virginia
Peninsula east of Richmond between the Union Army of the Potomac and the Confederate Virginia
Army. The campaign consisted of the following six battles: Mechanicsville, Gaines Mill, and Savage
Station, engagement at Oak Swamp Bridge, and battles of Frazier s Farm and Malvern Hill over a
seven day period. Major General George B. McClellan led the Union Army of nearly 104,000 soldiers,
while General Robert Edward Lee led the Confederate Army of nearly 92,000 soldiers during this
campaign. General Lee s tactical plan and use of several mission command principles during the
Seven Days Campaign from June 25 to July 1, 1862 won a quick and decisive victory for the Virginia
Army, and drove the Union troops to retreat down the Virginia Peninsula. General Lee s success in
those seven days remains among the most important in U.S. history because they gave new life to the
Confederacy.
The day after General Joseph E. Johnston suffered wounds during the Battle of Seven Pines on June 1,
1862, President Jefferson Davis appointed General Lee to command the Virginia Army. Although,
President Davis was initially reluctant with his appointment of General Lee as he had had limited
success and suffered a string of defeats in the early stages of the Civil War, he had no alternatives.
When General Lee took command, the Confederacy was in crisis. A well equipped Union Army

Many cadets with the Minnesota Wing Civil Air Patrol gained valuable training this past weekend at
Camp Ripley during the Cadre Training Weekend. Cadets (minors) and seniors (adults) trained
together for a summer leadership camp called encampment. They trained in areas ranging from
making beds to handling tricky situations in exercises called situational leadership simulations. Cadet

The Complex Variety Of Stimuli We Constantly Encounter Essay
Abstract
Our uniqueness in solving problems and forming an understanding of the complex variety of stimuli
we constantly encounter is a defining feature of human experience. A very powerful problem solving
tool is known as the Mental Set and takes place largely at an unconscious level. Mental sets increase
the problem solving success rate for related problems by enlisting a mental framework that recycles
methods that proved successful for solving similar problems in the past. Conversely, the mental set
inhibits the success of similar problems that require a slightly different method to be solved. Once in a
mental set, it is difficult to find a solution for a novel problem. Mental sets vary in the intensity and
duration in which they inhibit an individual s creativity for solving novel problems. The mental
processes that allow for mental sets have long been viewed as static. Recent research involving
transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) has
provided support that these processes are actually quite dynamic and capable of being influenced in a
laboratory setting. Dissolving a mental set with these aforementioned procedures has also been shown
to temporarily induce savant skills. I propose that Keywords:
It is well known that individuals with savant syndrome and autistic spectrum disorder have some
degree of hemispheric imbalance. This imbalance has been shown to be an inhibition of the left
hemisphere and a

Impact Of Etfs Trading On Underlying Securities
Because price changes in ETFs directly reflect market information and alter investors behaviours and
asset allocation, the underlying security liquidity and volatility should be scrutinized. The third main
strand of academic literature has revealed that the potential impacts of ETFs trading on underlying
securities, and the markets as a whole, is of substantial interest to both investment professionals and
financial academics. There is an extensive amount of research that emphasises the effects on liquidity,
volatility and valuation. In fact, ETFs impact on the quality of underlying securities is not an
unexplored area to theoretical or empirical academics. Existing studies have examined the effects of
ETFs introduction on their underlying indices or composite securities. Subrahmanyam (1991) and
Gorton et al. (1993) established theoretical models to test basket securities , including index linked
securities or index futures contracts (Charupat and Miu, 2013). The models predicted liquidity
migration to component securities and indicated that the level of diversification of a composite
security is positively correlated with its appeal to liquidity traders. The analysis was based on the idea
that component stocks were diversified (with no firm risk), and the liquidity traders, thus, expected
lower losses to informed traders by trading in composite securities rather than in underlying individual
securities. Due to lower transaction costs, basket securities were more

Immigrant Refugee
This article explains and show the immigration crisis today in Europe and how it might still yet to get
worst. In Europe as it is today, has been serving as a major ground for immigrant refugees. There is
over sixty million displaced people and refugees, numbers not even heard of during the period of
WW2 coming from not only seria but from other regions like Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa and even Haiti.
The must striking thing about this crisis, is that it is still expected to get worst. Say if the tailaban keep
trying to extend their territorial gains across Afghanistan, this will force afghans to want to migrate.
Due to this attacks, about one hundred thousand afghans are expected to migrate to Europe this year.
These numbers increase daily as these refugees try to escape thier home countries due to terrosm or
other unpeace conditions. For example many inhaptants of Iraq are already homeless, daily amid
wartime shortages of food and medicine and persistent bombardment by Isis . Yemen is not much

o The most obvious function, governments rely on bond markets to fund the gap between spending
and revenues. o Bond yields are essential elements in the pricing of other long term assets, ranging
from equities and real estate, to gold and foreign exchange rates. For instance, most ways of assessing
fair value of the stock market require some long term interest rate, either to discount to the present a
flow of corporate dividends or to compare to a given price earnings ratio. o Long term interest rates
are the basis for the cost of borrowing to both firms and households. It is the price of leverage. They
determine how much households need to pay on their fixed rate mortgages and importantly, corporate
treasurers use them to assess the value to shareholders of expected flows of revenue on real
investment projects. o Long term sovereign bonds are the core investment for long horizoned
investors, such as pension funds and insurance companies. o Futures and options based on long term
sovereign bonds are widely used to hedge other long term bonds. For all these reasons, if the long
term bond yield is in some sense off, if there are questions about their valuations, then lots of other
valuations will also be off, and lots of financial, business and households decisions will also be off.

My Statement Of Purpose In Biology
Education is a companion which no future can depress, no crime can destroy, no enemy can alienate
and no nepotism can enslave. It is this maxim that urges me to pursue my career beyond Masters
Degree.
Science has always been a fascination and more of a miracle to me from my childhood. Right from my
school days, I enjoy studying biology, though exposed to only major concepts of biology, the terms
like cell, genes, DNA, protein intrigued me a lot. It is my unchanging aspiration to explore and to
discover the mysteries of the inner workings of life in the micro cosmos represented by cell and
molecules, as a biologist.
Educated at best schools, I was encouraged to participate in science fairs, and other educational
competitions. It was the Biological Sciences that titillated me the most. After obtaining 85.07% in

Sparta Strengths And Weaknesses
Education in Sparta: Did the Strengths Outweigh the Weaknesses?
Would you like to be neglected just because you weren t strong? That is what a Spartan kid would
undergo. Sparta is a small city state located in Peloponnese, Greece. The Spartan civilization was
established in 900 BCE Despite its early foundation, it lived fairly peacefully until the Persians and
the Athenians came along and tried to invade Sparta. Sparta had to endure the assaults, and they had to
fight to survive. Due to this, the education was based on the body strength and physical toughness.
Until the fall of the empire, the education was essentially the same. Questioning if the strengths
outweighed the weaknesses seems like a fair question to ask. After evaluating both ... Show more

High levels of physical fitness was desired even before a child is born. Several Spartan kids get
neglected and ignored if they do not meet the strength and physical requirements under the Agoge s

children will grow to become strong as well. If the child was male, the child was taken away from his
parents at the astonishing age of seven to be controlled and trained by the government s agoge. Any
sort of footwear wasn t allowed, nor extra clothing. They were given insubstantial food to show them
how it is to go on with an empty stomach. Once the children left the agoge, most of them went on to
be great soldiers in the army forces. The men who have the strength and ability to, go forward to
expand their specialization in strength and got on to the army. The stress that the Spartan government
puts onto physical strength is stunning. It takes 14 long and exhausting years to complete the training
in order to become a soldier. Most people volunteered at the ages of seven which was the starting,
until twenty one. At the early time when the education system switched to focus on the body, the

Effects Of Sexuality In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
The Side Effects of Sexuality Sexuality is not new; in fact, it is possibly the oldest existing
occurrences in human history. It even goes back to the days of 2700 B.C. and, though not given labels
and limitations, it definitely has an important presence in The Epic of Gilgamesh, written by
Anonymous. Yes, it is important. Three of the major game changing events in The Epic of Gilgamesh
involve sex, including the refusal of it. One involves using the act of sex to acclimate wild to
civilization. Another instance involves the rejection of sexual advances due to self dignity and growth,

steamy and complex relationship through wordplay. Some examples include the frequent description
of Gilgamesh and Enkidu as brothers ; the sexual nature of the wrestling account; Gilgamesh s
abnormal rejection to Ishtar s advances; the deathbed scene in which Enkidu is compared to a bride to
Gilgamesh; and, finally, Gilgamesh s mourn over his dead lover and friend. For Ackerman, based on
these definitive events, the presence of homoerotic overtones in some of the Epic s descriptions ...
seems indisputable. (Nissinen 307) In The Epic of Gilgamesh, what Aruru ordains as a rivalry ends in
friendship, companionship, and love. It is the battle between Gilgamesh and Enkidu that begins to
open his eyes to how he is portrayed in the text a power hungry and unruly womanizer. Mutually,
Enkidu gradually becomes more acclimated to the intricacies of being a human through his
interactions with Gilgamesh. They both develop together an unbreakable soul tie that takes them
through the battle with Humbaba, the forest ogre and the Bull of Heaven. Once Enkidu dies,
Gilgamesh becomes consumed with extreme grief for a period of time; it is equivalent to the emotions
of a man who lost his wife. Dually, the death of Enkidu serves as an incentive for Gilgamesh to start

Resource Based Sources of Competitive Advantage
| Critically discuss the importance of resource based sources of competitive advantage in one of the
industries studied on this module. You should discuss a range of companies. Competitive advantage is
when a firm sustains profits that exceed the average for its industry. The goal of much of business
strategy is to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. Porter identified two basic types of
competitive advantage; cost and differentiation. These two advantages are known as positional
advantages as they describe the firm s position in the industry as a leader in either cost or
differentiation. However, in this assignment I will discuss and analyse the importance of the resource
based view, (which is also known as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This core competence is of vital importance as the inability to innovate in today s ever changing
environment may lead to entropy and ultimately cessation of trade. Being truly competitive. It is
crucial that a resource ultimately delivers a true competitive advantage. This core competence
highlights the fact that it is not enough for an organisation just to realise the resource as being a
strength, but that it must also be able to prove that it is of both better quality and at a lower cost than
the competition. This in basic terms means that it is not good enough for instance to produce a low
cost, high quality product, but that it must have not only lower costs than the competitors, it must also
produce items of a higher quality or standard that that of its competitors. An example of this is to
consider that if Rolls Royce s Far East division does not produce higher quality at a lower cost than
both General Electric and Pratt amp; Whitney, it could not gain competitive advantage as this core
competence would not be relevant in this situation. Substitutability. A resource is more likely to be
able to gain competitive advantage if it cannot be substituted. Although the resource based view is in
opposition to Porter s views on strategy, his five forces model identified the threat of substitutes as an
environmental force that can influence an organisation in gaining

The Indian History And The Status Of Women
The Indian History and the Status of Women :
Women s security is closely connected to global security still they suffer simply because they differ in
gender. According to the UN Commission on Human Security, the security of one person, one
community, one nation rests on the decisions of many others, sometimes fortuitously, sometimes
precariously . However, in the interrelated world everyone is influenced either positively or negatively
by the decisions of individuals or states (UNIFEM
2003). To understand the status of the Indian women it is important to understand the history gender
discrimination in the country.
In 1947, the Indian history of violence against women was perceivable in the violent nature of the
nation s partition. The women were raped, abducted and their bodies were used as a medium of men s
evil expression as Indian Hindus and the Pakistani Muslims battled for power to defend their
countries. This tactic of humiliating the opponent by using women s bodies as a tool of power
dominance is still being practiced in the Indian society and is visible in the cases of Devi and Sori
(Dobhal 2011: 598).
Mother India, commonly termed as Bharat Mata in Sanskrit is the national personification of
India as a mother goddess which is widely depicted as a woman clad in a saffron sari holding the
national flag. The position of women was high in India and some might argue that degrading
positioning of women in the society is influenced by the impact of colonialism.

Tuskegee Experiment Essay
Abstract The Tuskegee syphilis experiment was an infamous clinical study conducted between 1932
1972 in Macon Country, Alabama by the U.S Public Health Service. The purpose was to study the
natural progression of untreated syphilis in rural African American men who thought they were
receiving free health care from the U.S government; about four hundred African American men were
denied. The doctors that were involved in this study had a shifted mindset; they were called racist
monsters ; for the most part, doctors and civil servants simply did their jobs. Some merely followed
orders, others worked for the glory of science (Heller) The men that were used for the study got

(Tuskegee University) Out of the 600 African American men, the United States Public Health Service
refused to treat 399 of the men who were diagnosed with syphilis with late stage. From these men,
perhaps more than 100 had died directly from advanced syphilitics lessons. (Brandt) From the
Tuskegee University, it s stated that the doctors and researches used the excuse of bad blood in order
to get men participating. The Central American study, was the original international study, and the
Tuskegee study was a contrast on their human subjects. Dr. J. E. Moore called the Oslo Study a never
to be repeated human experiment . The Oslo Study was the first study that had white male participants
only, which were cure rapidly compare to the other two studies. Since Guatemala was a low income
country the Public Health Services targeted them, and took full advantage of the men. A dissimilarity
between the studies was that, Guatemala was that when the participants failed to attract the disease,
the doctors would inoculate the disease purposely onto the skin whether it was from scratching or a
spinal tap injection. (Reverby, 2010) In the Tuskegee study, the African Americans, were targeted
purposely because of their lack of education and their need of medical care. Since U.S Public Health
Service are superior than all the African Americans that were a participant they took over their lives
for a short term of period, just for the benefit for the U.S Public Health

Booker T Washington Struggles
In his autobiography Up from Slavery , Booker T. Washington recalls instances throughout his life as
both a slave and a free man where he worked to pursue an education. This was his ultimate goal and
served as his motivation to work hard. Washington recounts his troublesome journey perusing an
education, often times being homeless and foodless leading him to seek a part time job for very low
wages in order to make it to the Hampton Normal and Agricultural Institute, a college for blacks
located in Richmond, Virginia. Being a victim of slavery Washington did not have the resources and
therefore encountered various struggles such as lack of clothes, food, shelter and money that
lengthened his drive to the Hampton Institute and challenged his stay once he had been admitted both
as a student and janitor. Through his life experiences Washington s good character, perseverance and
humble heart define him as an admirable former slave with the ambition to better himself through
education despite the workload he had to overcome to fulfill his dream. No problem and struggle was
too hard to hinder Washington from going to Hampton. In the chapter, The Struggle for an Education
author Washington in detail describes the heartbreaking events he faced on his way to the Hampton,
throughout the hardest of situations his passion and drive for his education is present and constant

Use Of Deadly Force In Defending Property
The use of deadly force in defending property is justifiable but depending on whether the
circumstances call for it. The same sentiment is shared by the Supreme Court of Appeal, as they
believe that an intruder loses their rights when engaging in unlawful conduct, conversely, the person
who s fall victim to the invasion is entitled to protect their rights to whatever extent needed, even if
deadly force is required. In cases such as the Van Wyk Case, the use of deadly force is justified in the
sense that, the criminal act was a threat to their livelihood, considering that the store was their main
source of income and any loss of stock would affect them negatively. Furthermore, deadly force may
be deemed a necessary course of action, if

Mark And Luke Essay
LUKE
As I stated before some scholars believe that Luke uses Mark as his soul source when composing this
story in his Gospel . If we assume that fact to be true then there should be no reason that there are
differences between the stories, but that is not the case. Luke makes changes to the narrative, and
some of those changes could cause the reader to see a different focus of the text. Luke Johnson points
out that in his Gospel Luke cleans up the language of the text making the story flow better but in
doing this he also omits several of the descriptive details that Mark uses, and these omitted details
may make the actions taking place in the text seem weaker . This means that when Luke chose to
clean up the language of the story from Mark ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this verse Matthew uses interesting grammar he says and suddenly the whole herd rushed down the
steep bank into the sea and perished in the water. (NRSV) This is grammatically interesting because
the word rushed is a singular verb, and perished is a plural verb . France says that unlike the narrative
in Mark, and Luke Matthew does this to emphasize that the swine and the demons were both killed . I
think that this ties in well to the idea that Matthew chose to focus on Jesus s power over the
supernatural instead of this being a miracle that he preformed in gentile

Personal Narrative-Moira s Big Gig
Moira s Big Gig I thought I had it all down until that very moment. Its casting night for the middle
school play. Me as an 8th grader went in pretty confident, and I was determined to get a part. Even
though last year for me as a 7th grader didn t go quite well for me. I kept working hard for the next
year, to make my skills better. At additions i usually stumble over my words so I feel shy and that I let
myself down. But castings were postaed the next morning. Me feeling the rush of adrenaline, I speed
down the hallway. I look frantically at the list, my heart pounding. My eyes moving so fast looking for
my name. Finally there I see it my name posted by the charter Moira Flynn I smlied with joy and
excitement wondering what the next few months would bring. It s the first day of rehearsal we laugh
and review our parts. The next day we start blocking then we put it all together. Its January 12th and

The morning of the dress rehearsal I go over my lines once more. The cast was told that we would go
to first and second and then leave for third. Some people were so nervous they were biting, some
running around with excitement. As for me I feel excited but as the show gets closer and closer my
mind is having confits. We get to the stage and put on our costumes and makeup. My hands were so
shaky I had to have someone else do my make up. Wendy said Ok everyone gather up for warm ups!
we start with baby shark and then on to Rock the boat. A couple mints later I hear the door opened
outside of the stage. I lean over to my friend Lizzy who also is in the play and I say They are here, not
long until we perform ! We both make tense faces as the number of butterflies multiply in my
stomach. A few minutes later all of students are seated it s time to start. The cast members are running
around like ants trying to find food. All of a sudden the lights go down and the crowd goes

Informative Essay On Baseball
Running, catching, and hitting are some types of actions used in the game of baseball. Yes, the
baseball season has started in early April Miguel, you had a great game today. In October of 2015, the
World Series started. Shocked by the home run, the pitcher found it hard to keep his surprising
emotions inside his mind. The St. Louis Cardinals, based on their record, are the best team in baseball.
Before the game it started raining; therefore, the baseball game was postponed. Zack Greinke, a

Proposed Merger Of Us Airways And American Airlines
INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO: CHRISTOPHER CARRIGAN, ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL, ANTITRUST DIVISION,
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
FROM: JULIAN HOFFMAN, ECONOMIC ANALYST
SUBJECT: PROPOSED MERGER OF US AIRWAYS AND AMERICAN AIRLINES
DATE: JULY 15, 2013 Executive Summary
This memo is in response to your request for an analysis of the economic implications of the potential
merger of US Airways Group and the AMR Corporation (parent company of American Airlines), plans
for which were announced in February of this year. While US Airways Group is currently operating
normally, AMR Corporation is under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection due to a lack of profit, putting
it in a precarious business situation. This proposed merger is AMR Corporation s proposed path out of
bankruptcy, and one which both airlines claim could result in more than $1.5 billion in additional
revenues and cost savings on an annual basis. (Wall Street Journal, 2012)
This proposed merger would create the largest airline in the United States by market share, with a
combined 21.2% of the domestic market using pre merger market share levels (see Figure 1). The
proposed merger would also bring the total number of major domestic airlines down to four: Delta,
United, Southwest and the proposed new airline. These major domestic carriers would combine to
control roughly 69% of the market, a dominant position.
Any thorough economic analysis of the proposed merger has to focus in on this critical issue: the risk
of having too few

  • 2. The Pros And Cons Of Internet Hacking Internet hacking is considered a white collar crime, which means it is a nonviolent crime; however, it involves deceit, corruption, and a breach of trust. Internet hacking can be involved with identity theft and fraud involving credit cards, e commerce, and securities. All of those crimes can be considered up to a felony depending upon how serious the offense was. One of the first laws dealing with the computer crimes dates back to 1984 when the Federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act was passed. The act prohibits accessing a computer without the authorization, or in excess of authorization. The act has been amended multiple times, the most recent being in 2008. Richard Mann and Barry Roberts say, The Act makes it a crime with respect to any computer that is used in interstate commerce or communications (1) to access or damage it without authorization, (2) to access it with the intent to commit fraud, (3) to traffic in passwords for it, and (4) to threaten to cause damage to it with the intent to extort money or anything of value (Mann and Roberts 111). A case that correlates with this act is LVRC Holdings LLC. V. Brekka. In 2009 Brekka who had previously worked for LVRC was allegedly hacked information about clients and using it to start his own business to compete against LVRC. • 4. Mozart And Beethoven s Musical Origins Haydn began his musical career as a choirboy in Vienna up until the age of 17. Mozart and Beethoven s musical origins are similar, both coming from families with musical backgrounds. Mozart s father taught him and his sister before taking them to tour throughout Europe. Beethoven also studied with his father before receiving his study abroad opportunity in Vienna in 1792. After serving as a choirboy, Haydn found himself in need of a means to make a living. He was barely able to support himself as a freelance musician. Haydn s first serious position occurred around 1757 when he became music director for Count Morzin. It was also around this time that Haydn began to write some of his first symphonies. Most of Haydn s earlier symphonies were three movement works (fast slow fast), somewhat like the Italian opera overture. Other symphonies were four movement works arranged much like a sonata de chiesa. In 1761, Haydn began working for the Esterházy princes, spending nearly 30 years at the Esterházy court. He composed at every wish of the Esterházy princes; any work they demanded. Haydn s duties included conducting, training, and supervising all musicians, and maintaining instruments. He built an orchestra of 25 players His time at Eszterhaza really influenced the success of his career; Haydn got to hear his work in excellent performances. Because Esterhaza was so isolated, vsitors would often keep him in the loop about music events in other locations. Haydn s compositions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Biography of Winston Churchill The year was 1940; the world s second great World War was in full swing, with Britain and Germany at the forefront. The fall of Britain s closest ally, France, stunned the British Empire and threw it into disarray. Through the chaos, Winston Churchill emerged. Churchill would be an inspiring leader who was able to rally the entire nation in times of hardship. Through his leadership, the British Bulldog would face the Axis powers and come out victorious, as well as become a public hero for the British people. Yet, immediately after the war, Churchill did not return to the prime minister seat because of a shocking defeat in his re election, despite his immense reputation he gained from the war. Though lauded by the British population for his prowess as a wartime leader, Churchill s conservative politics were out of touch with a population ready for post war relief and led to his defeat in the 1945 election. Churchill got his conservative politics from being raised in the Victorian era Britain, where he learned to be ambitious, and have a strong sense of independence (Ben Moshe 8). This unrelenting ambition Churchill obtained would earn him his reputation, and lead to his loss in the 1945 election. Churchill practiced conservative politics, because he lived in an era when Conservatives ruled parliament (Havighurst 63). At the turn of the century, however, conservative practices would soon become outdated. It was with the emergence of the Liberal Party, that public opinion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Debate Over Abortion Essay With the ongoing debate and the advancement of technology in determining the viability of a fetus, abortion, the ending of a pregnancy by removing a fertilized egg, has become increasingly controversial. The morality of abortion has caused many to separate into opposite sides of the spectrum, pro life and pro choice. The arguments over abortion has stirred a continuous debate between a pro choice stance such as that presented by the analogical reasoning of Thomson or Glover s examination of social context and a pro life position argued by a moral view of personhood by Noonan. The ethical arguments presented by the conflicting views in the abortion debate has caused others to taken into consideration a sociological account visible in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thomson concludes that it does not matter whether or not a fetus is a person because even if a fetus is granted a right to life, it is not accurate to assume that abortion is murder (2, Thomson, CC p.192). Murder is an intentional act that is unjustified while abortion is not direct killing but results in the death of the fetus. For instance, in cases involving rape or other conditions of unintended pregnancies, a woman undergoing abortion is not necessarily committing murder since she was not responsible for an unwanted pregnancy. Therefore, in no case should the personhood of the fetus determine the morality of abortion. Thomson suggests that having a right to life does not grant the right to use another person s body (3, Thomson, CC p.191). In other words, the fetus s right to life does not apply to any moral obligation of the mother s body. Abortion is justifiable because there is no obligation on part of the women for an unwanted pregnancy. In the case of the sick violinist, the kidnapped person is not morally obligated to make sacrifices and save the life of the violinist. Since the violinist has no right to use another person s body, it would not be considered murder or a violation of the violinist s rights if the kidnapped person was to refuse and pull the plug. The common misconception is that only polar bears are suffering from global warming. Because of rapid climate change in multiple areas around the globe, many organisms are unable to live in their normal habitat. They are unable to adapt to these new conditions as fast as they are changing. There are many effects of global warming that is affecting the livelihood of many animals and in this essay I will explain how the effects are hurting the earth s population of animals. What is Global Warming? Global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants. The Green House Effect is the process in which the absorption and emission of infrared radiation by gases in the atmosphere warm a planet s lower atmosphere and surface. These greenhouse gases traps some of the heat emitted by the Earth. The problem with global warming is that is an anthropomorphic problem. The human race is polluting and misusing our earth. In connection to this, the important thing that mangers must maintain is understanding each employee needs and how they pursue the fulfillment of those needs, keeping in mind that at all times all people are seeking need satisfaction and that a fully satisfied need doesn`t motivate behavior. Once a need is satisfied it s no longer a motivator, but the level at which it s satisfied must be maintained improved or it will become a dissatisfier. This is precisely why a periodic pay increase seems so important to an employee the increase that s granted does little or nothing to motivate the person to perform, but if the increase isn t forthcoming then pay becomes a dissatisfier. From the above point what we understand is motivating forces are of course largely psychological in their influence, so as long as pay is perceived a fair and there s a reasonable sense of job security it should follow that lasting motivation comes mostly from the fulfillment of psychological needs and little from material rewards. How Did The Seven Days Battle Of 1862 The Seven Days Campaign of 1862 was a sequence of battles that took place along the Virginia Peninsula east of Richmond between the Union Army of the Potomac and the Confederate Virginia Army. The campaign consisted of the following six battles: Mechanicsville, Gaines Mill, and Savage Station, engagement at Oak Swamp Bridge, and battles of Frazier s Farm and Malvern Hill over a seven day period. Major General George B. McClellan led the Union Army of nearly 104,000 soldiers, while General Robert Edward Lee led the Confederate Army of nearly 92,000 soldiers during this campaign. General Lee s tactical plan and use of several mission command principles during the Seven Days Campaign from June 25 to July 1, 1862 won a quick and decisive victory for the Virginia Army, and drove the Union troops to retreat down the Virginia Peninsula. General Lee s success in those seven days remains among the most important in U.S. history because they gave new life to the Confederacy. The day after General Joseph E. Johnston suffered wounds during the Battle of Seven Pines on June 1, 1862, President Jefferson Davis appointed General Lee to command the Virginia Army. • 12. The Complex Variety Of Stimuli We Constantly Encounter Essay Abstract Our uniqueness in solving problems and forming an understanding of the complex variety of stimuli we constantly encounter is a defining feature of human experience. A very powerful problem solving tool is known as the Mental Set and takes place largely at an unconscious level. Mental sets increase the problem solving success rate for related problems by enlisting a mental framework that recycles methods that proved successful for solving similar problems in the past. Conversely, the mental set inhibits the success of similar problems that require a slightly different method to be solved. Once in a mental set, it is difficult to find a solution for a novel problem. Mental sets vary in the intensity and duration in which they inhibit an individual s creativity for solving novel problems. The mental processes that allow for mental sets have long been viewed as static. Recent research involving transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) has provided support that these processes are actually quite dynamic and capable of being influenced in a laboratory setting. Dissolving a mental set with these aforementioned procedures has also been shown to temporarily induce savant skills. Impact Of Etfs Trading On Underlying Securities Because price changes in ETFs directly reflect market information and alter investors behaviours and asset allocation, the underlying security liquidity and volatility should be scrutinized. The third main strand of academic literature has revealed that the potential impacts of ETFs trading on underlying securities, and the markets as a whole, is of substantial interest to both investment professionals and financial academics. There is an extensive amount of research that emphasises the effects on liquidity, volatility and valuation. In fact, ETFs impact on the quality of underlying securities is not an unexplored area to theoretical or empirical academics. Existing studies have examined the effects of ETFs introduction on their underlying indices or composite securities. Subrahmanyam (1991) and Gorton et al. (1993) established theoretical models to test basket securities , including index linked securities or index futures contracts (Charupat and Miu, 2013). The models predicted liquidity migration to component securities and indicated that the level of diversification of a composite security is positively correlated with its appeal to liquidity traders. The analysis was based on the idea that component stocks were diversified (with no firm risk), and the liquidity traders, thus, expected lower losses to informed traders by trading in composite securities rather than in underlying individual securities. However, in this assignment I will discuss and analyse the importance of the resource based view, (which is also known as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This core competence is of vital importance as the inability to innovate in today s ever changing environment may lead to entropy and ultimately cessation of trade. Being truly competitive. It is crucial that a resource ultimately delivers a true competitive advantage. This core competence highlights the fact that it is not enough for an organisation just to realise the resource as being a strength, but that it must also be able to prove that it is of both better quality and at a lower cost than the competition. This in basic terms means that it is not good enough for instance to produce a low cost, high quality product, but that it must have not only lower costs than the competitors, it must also produce items of a higher quality or standard that that of its competitors. An example of this is to consider that if Rolls Royce s Far East division does not produce higher quality at a lower cost than both General Electric and Pratt amp; Whitney, it could not gain competitive advantage as this core competence would not be relevant in this situation. Substitutability. A resource is more likely to be able to gain competitive advantage if it cannot be substituted. Although the resource based view is in opposition to Porter s views on strategy, his five forces model identified the threat of substitutes as an environmental force that can influence an organisation in gaining ... • 23. The Indian History And The Status Of Women The Indian History and the Status of Women : Women s security is closely connected to global security still they suffer simply because they differ in gender. According to the UN Commission on Human Security, the security of one person, one community, one nation rests on the decisions of many others, sometimes fortuitously, sometimes precariously . However, in the interrelated world everyone is influenced either positively or negatively by the decisions of individuals or states (UNIFEM 2003). To understand the status of the Indian women it is important to understand the history gender discrimination in the country. In 1947, the Indian history of violence against women was perceivable in the violent nature of the nation s partition. The women were raped, abducted and their bodies were used as a medium of men s evil expression as Indian Hindus and the Pakistani Muslims battled for power to defend their countries. This tactic of humiliating the opponent by using women s bodies as a tool of power dominance is still being practiced in the Indian society and is visible in the cases of Devi and Sori (Dobhal 2011: 598). Mother India, commonly termed as Bharat Mata in Sanskrit is the national personification of India as a mother goddess which is widely depicted as a woman clad in a saffron sari holding the national flag. The position of women was high in India and some might argue that degrading positioning of women in the society is influenced by the impact of colonialism. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Tuskegee Experiment Essay Abstract The Tuskegee syphilis experiment was an infamous clinical study conducted between 1932 1972 in Macon Country, Alabama by the U.S Public Health Service. The purpose was to study the natural progression of untreated syphilis in rural African American men who thought they were receiving free health care from the U.S government; about four hundred African American men were denied. The doctors that were involved in this study had a shifted mindset; they were called racist monsters ; for the most part, doctors and civil servants simply did their jobs. (Tuskegee University) Out of the 600 African American men, the United States Public Health Service refused to treat 399 of the men who were diagnosed with syphilis with late stage. From these men, perhaps more than 100 had died directly from advanced syphilitics lessons. (Brandt) From the Tuskegee University, it s stated that the doctors and researches used the excuse of bad blood in order to get men participating. The Central American study, was the original international study, and the Tuskegee study was a contrast on their human subjects. Dr. J. E. Moore called the Oslo Study a never to be repeated human experiment . The Oslo Study was the first study that had white male participants only, which were cure rapidly compare to the other two studies. Since Guatemala was a low income country the Public Health Services targeted them, and took full advantage of the men. A dissimilarity between the studies was that, Guatemala was that when the participants failed to attract the disease, the doctors would inoculate the disease purposely onto the skin whether it was from scratching or a spinal tap injection. (Reverby, 2010) In the Tuskegee study, the African Americans, were targeted purposely because of their lack of education and their need of medical care. Since U.S Public Health Service are superior than all the African Americans that were a participant they took over their lives for a short term of period, just for the benefit for the U.S Public Health ... Washington recalls instances throughout his life as both a slave and a free man where he worked to pursue an education. This was his ultimate goal and served as his motivation to work hard. Washington recounts his troublesome journey perusing an education, often times being homeless and foodless leading him to seek a part time job for very low wages in order to make it to the Hampton Normal and Agricultural Institute, a college for blacks located in Richmond, Virginia. Being a victim of slavery Washington did not have the resources and therefore encountered various struggles such as lack of clothes, food, shelter and money that lengthened his drive to the Hampton Institute and challenged his stay once he had been admitted both as a student and janitor. • 26. Use Of Deadly Force In Defending Property The use of deadly force in defending property is justifiable but depending on whether the circumstances call for it. The same sentiment is shared by the Supreme Court of Appeal, as they believe that an intruder loses their rights when engaging in unlawful conduct, conversely, the person who s fall victim to the invasion is entitled to protect their rights to whatever extent needed, even if deadly force is required. In cases such as the Van Wyk Case, the use of deadly force is justified in the sense that, the criminal act was a threat to their livelihood, considering that the store was their main source of income and any loss of stock would affect them negatively. • 27. Mark And Luke Essay LUKE As I stated before some scholars believe that Luke uses Mark as his soul source when composing this story in his Gospel . If we assume that fact to be true then there should be no reason that there are differences between the stories, but that is not the case. Luke makes changes to the narrative, and some of those changes could cause the reader to see a different focus of the text. Luke Johnson points out that in his Gospel Luke cleans up the language of the text making the story flow better but in doing this he also omits several of the descriptive details that Mark uses, and these omitted details may make the actions taking place in the text seem weaker . This means that when Luke chose to clean up the language of the story from Mark ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this verse Matthew uses interesting grammar he says and suddenly the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the water. (NRSV) This is grammatically interesting because the word rushed is a singular verb, and perished is a plural verb . France says that unlike the narrative in Mark, and Luke Matthew does this to emphasize that the swine and the demons were both killed . I think that this ties in well to the idea that Matthew chose to focus on Jesus s power over the supernatural instead of this being a miracle that he preformed in gentile ... Proposed Merger Of Us Airways And American Airlines INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM TO: CHRISTOPHER CARRIGAN, ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL, ANTITRUST DIVISION, DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FROM: JULIAN HOFFMAN, ECONOMIC ANALYST SUBJECT: PROPOSED MERGER OF US AIRWAYS AND AMERICAN AIRLINES DATE: JULY 15, 2013 Executive Summary This memo is in response to your request for an analysis of the economic implications of the potential merger of US Airways Group and the AMR Corporation (parent company of American Airlines), plans for which were announced in February of this year. While US Airways Group is currently operating normally, AMR Corporation is under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection due to a lack of profit, putting it in a precarious business situation. This proposed merger is AMR Corporation s proposed path out of bankruptcy, and one which both airlines claim could result in more than $1.5 billion in additional revenues and cost savings on an annual basis. (Wall Street Journal, 2012) This proposed merger would create the largest airline in the United States by market share, with a combined 21.2% of the domestic market using pre merger market share levels (see Figure 1). The proposed merger would also bring the total number of major domestic airlines down to four: Delta, United, Southwest and the proposed new airline. These major domestic carriers would combine to control roughly 69% of the market, a dominant position. Any thorough economic analysis of the proposed merger has to focus in on this critical issue: the risk of having too few ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
