Sexual Orientation Discrimination Research Paper
To begin with, the social inequality, sexual orientation, has a huge impact on people in America. Many
that are homosexual, bisexual, or any other sexuality are being judged and have an unfair employment
and income. One of the most common and general thing in sexual orientation discrimination, is the
fact that people with a different sexuallity are being judged because they are not straight. It is not fair
for humans that are a different sexuality to feel the need to hide it. They should be treated no
differently than a straight person and should be able to express themselves without being judged or
harmed. Also, many people are not heterosexual, and have a different sexuality like, homosexual or
bisexual, this does not make them any

Essay Frank Sinatra
Frank Sinatra was widely known from coast to coast. He was definitely one of the most popular stars
of his era. (3) He, not only was a singer/ song writer, but as his career grew he shifted smoothly into
acting and dancing. Ole Blue Eyes was an American icon who was capable of charming his way
through each decade that rolled by. He had a sound that carried like no other. His soft voice could
sweep women off their feet and right into his arms. Ole blue eyes had an extraordinary talent and sure
did not waste it. It all started when Italian immigrants, Martin and Natalie Sinatra gave birth to a baby
boy on December 12, 1915. On that night Francis Albert Sinatra was born not breathing. His
grandmother decided to hold him ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He first started riding news trucks and delivering papers and then was promoted to copy boy. Frank
desperately wanted to be a reporter, but when he asked the circulation manager he said that copy boys
didn t know enough to be reporters. This pushed Sinatra to go enroll in Journalism class, studying
English, typing, and shorthand. Finally, the editor relented and made Frank a cub sports reporter.
Frank covered various school games he actually played himself. He was 18 years old at the time. (1)
During this time Sinatra also preformed at amateur theater shows. He went from movie house to the
next. He won a prize on a Major Bowes Hour, which landed him his first professional contract for one
hundred and twenty five dollars a week for being a singer, head writer, master of ceremonies, and
comedian at a country roadhouse called Rustic Cabin in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. (1) In 1939 Sinatra
began working on a radio station WNEW in New York with Band leader Harry James for seventy five
dollars a week. Six months with the James Band resulted in ten commercial recordings; some of which
included All or Nothing at All in 1939. James released Frank in December of 1939 when Tommy
Dorsey offered him a deal for eighty three recordings. This deal lasted from 1940 to 1942. (89) Frank
began a solo career in 1944 at Columbia Records. He worked with his chief arranger

My Experience An Experience
College: An Experience Astronaut Frank Borman is quoted as saying, Exploration is really the essence
of human spirit . When combatted with describing the first week of my new life as a Keystone College
Giant, this quote appears in my mind. College has been described by some as the time and place for
self discovery. And, through out this week of starting new classes, meeting new people, trying new
things, and, creating and breaking habits, I think that I have begun to explore the person I want to
become. The class of 2021 began this journey with a weekend packed with new memories and
pleasant experiences. This was helpful in getting me settled in and ready to start my eight a.m.
Calculus class on Monday morning. I had never realized just how much I could enjoy the morning
until I experienced it here at Keystone. I was convinced that having five days of early classes was a set
up to have the worst semester possible. However, when my alarm went off and I rolled out of bed, I
was shocked to find the quiet campus and the aroma of fresh coffee rather warming. Although I tend
to be a night owl I think that I may come to appreciate being an early bird as well. As I join the
clusters of half awake students trudging to class, I notice things we have in common and small
conversations start. Occasionally, small talk becomes longer discussions and I find myself surrounded
by people that I could become very close friends with. One of the on going themes at orientation was

law of torts
THE LAW OF TORTS INTRODUCTION The word tort is of French origin and is equivalent of the
English word wrong, and the Roman law term delict. It is derived from the Latin word tortum, which
means twisted or crooked. It implies conduct that is twisted or crooked. It is commonly used to mean a
breach of duty amounting to a civil wrong. Definition: a tort is defined as a civil wrong for which the
remedy is a common law action for unliquidated damages and which is not exclusively the breach of a
contract or the breach of a trust or other merely equitable obligation. A tort arises due to a person s
duty to others in generally which is created by one law or the other. A person who commits a tort is
known as a tortfeaser, or a wrongdoer. Where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
1. Voluntary and involuntary acts: acts and omissions may be voluntary or involuntary. An involuntary
act does not give rise to liability in tort. 2. Mental elements: Plaintiff may be required to show some
fault on the part of the defendant. Fault here means failure to live up to some ideal standard of conduct
set by law. To determine fault, the following may be proved: a) Malice: In the popular sense, malice
means ill will or spite. In Law, it means i) intentional doing of a wrongful act and, ii) improper motive.
b) Intention: i.e. where a person does a wrongful act knowing the possible consequences likely to
arise, he is said to have intended that act, and is therefore at fault. c) Recklessness: i.e. where a person
does an act without caring what its consequences might be, he is at fault. d) Negligence: i.e. where the
circumstances are such that a person ought to have foreseen consequences of his act and avoided it
altogether, he would be at fault if he bothers not. e) Motive: Motive is the ulterior objective or purpose
of doing an act and differs from intention. 3. Malfeasance, misfeasance and non feasance:
Malfeasance‟ refers to the commission of a wrongful act which is actionable per se and do not require
proof of intention or motive. „Misfeasance‟ is applicable to improper performance of some lawful act,
for example, where there is negligence.

What Does Shukhov Mean To Me
I just spent twenty minutes trying to decide what I want for breakfast by reading over a 30 page
nutrition guide. Then I cracked open my book and read, Apart from sleep, the only time a prisoner
lives for himself is ten minutes in the morning at breakfast, five minutes over dinner, and five at
supper (Solzhenitsyn 16). I spend a lot of time thinking about food, but I only take minutes to devour
it. If it were up to me I could eat a half gallon of my favorite ice cream in one sitting. Shukhov, like
many others today, could only dream about eating as much as his heart desired. No matter what or
how much food he had, he always saved part of it. He was not just saving food, he was saving strength
to both physically and mentally, get through the day. Shukhov s spoon was his most prized possession.
That spoon was precious for a few reasons. It was with Shukhov during all of his trials and tribulations
while in the gulag system. It represents his past experiences and dictates his future. It is symbolic of
his identity and his history. It gives Shukhov ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The harder he worked and the more favors he did for his fellow prisoners, the more food he got. An
extra serving here and there can make the difference between life and death. Shukhov took advantage
of that. But Shukhov wasn t made that way eight years in a camp couldn t change his nature. He
worried about anything he could make use of, about every scrap of work he could do nothing must be
wasted without good reason (Solzhenitsyn 105). I think Shukhov kept himself occupied by doing all
of those odd jobs. He viewed repairing shoes, tailoring, and saving a spot in line as an opportunity to
earn food, not as a job. He enjoyed working with his hands he was good at it and it gave him a sense
of accomplishment, but what kept him going was the

Organic Derivatives Of Water And Carbon Dioxide
Background Information
Alcohols are a class of organic compounds characterised by one or more hydroxyl ( OH) groups
attached to a carbon atom of a hydrocarbon chain. They can be considered as organic derivatives of
water and in which a hydrogen atom has been replaced by an alkyl group. Alcohols are a common
form of organic compound and most are colourless liquids or solids at room temperature
(Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2015).
Combustion is the process of burning fuels or in this case alcohol. It is the chemical process in which
the substance reacts rapidly with oxygen and gives off heat. The original substance is called the fuel
and the source of oxygen is the oxidiser (Grc.nasa.gov, 2015)). Here the alcohol is the fuel and the
oxidiser is air that passes through. During combustion any hydrocarbon source and oxygen yields
carbon dioxide, water and energy. During this process the hydrocarbon oxidises into water and carbon
dioxide (Bbc.co.uk, 2015). The temperature of this substance is quite high because of the heat
transferred to exhaust during combustion. The combustion process can be controlled or stopped by
controlling the amount of fuel available, the amount of oxygen available and the source of heat
(Grc.nasa.gov, 2015). However, because plenty of air is needed for combustion, an insufficient amount
of air will result in incomplete or partial combustion. Hydrogen is still oxidised into water but carbon
monoxide forms instead of carbon dioxide in the form of solid

different regions such as the New England Colonies, the Middle Colonies, and the Southern Colonies.
The New Jersey Colony is one of the Colonies in the Middle which is also close to the New York
Colony, the Delaware Colony, and the Pennsylvania Colony. our The colony has been founded by Sir
George Carteret and Lord Berkeley in 1664. New Jersey was actually originally named the Province
of New Jersey, after the British island named Jersey. Prior to 1664 when it was surrendered to the
English, the New Jersey Colony region had been ruled by Swedish and Dutch. New Jersey has lots of

The Internet Of Things, And Its Influence On Globalization
The Internet of Things (IoT), and its influence on globalization, is changing the way of life in
developed and developing countries. Making great strides in connecting the world, technology brings
people together through email, live chats, social networking, and video. Yet, with increased
technology comes increased threats to data loss, identity theft, and privacy concerns, especially
considering the underbelly of the IoT where cybercrime threats challenge security. The IoT contains
three general areas known as the Surface Web, the Deep Web, and the Dark Web (see Appendix A).
The Surface Web is much smaller than the other two put together. The Surface Web only makes up
about four percent of the Internet and the Deep Web/Dark Web combined makes up the balance of
about 96%. However, the Dark Web itself only comprises about 0.01% of the Internet. The Surface
Web is the section of the Internet that the general population surfs daily using an ever expanding
availability of commercially developed web browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer.
Surface Web sites are accessible through Bing, Google, Yahoo, and other search engines. Made up of
publicly searchable sites, the Surface Web offers corporate sites, email, forums, government sites,
news outlets, online storefronts, and social networking. The Deep Web holds countless sensitive
databases, medical and legal information, government reports, sensitive papers, publications,
password protected data, and private

Examples Of Affective Commitment
a. Affective commitment (meyer and allen 1997) Affective commitment measures the level of
attachment and affection that an individual has with the company. Employees sometimes get
emotionally attached to their company and this can be due to several reasons for example, good
internal relations, good atmosphere, friendly environment and peer motivation (Van Knippenberg
Sleebos, 2006). When an employee gets attention and prominent identity in a company, he/she gets
associated to it by heart and then it becomes a reason for them to stay in the company and not leave
their jobs. This dimensions tells that an employee will not leave the job in organization because he do
not want to leave it. So this is the congruence between organizational goals ... Show more content on

Employees under this category think that they have to be in this organization because they should be
(Meyer Parfyonova, 2010). This dimension links the employees moral and ethical attitude towards the
organization. They consider it as an obligation to be loyal to their company if the company is doing
something good for them (Gellatly, Meyer, Luchak, 2006). These kind of employees remain loyal to
the company as they think their company is providing them with benefits and meeting their needs so
they should be loyal to their company in anyway. It shows that this type of employees stay in
organization even if they are not completely satisfied with their jobs or even if they get better
opportunities they will stick to their company (Gellatly et al., 2006). Employees with this mind think
they should consider their place as priority based on several factors, for example, they think that the
company has paid a lot of money on their training so they should not waste this effort of the
organization and pay it back with their loyalty and commitment. So this dimension links the social and
moral duty of individuals with their company s goals (Powell Meyer,

Presidents Power to Persuade Essay
Presidents Power to Persuade The president of the United States of America is seen around the world
to be the most powerful man on Earth. However, many believe that his only real power is the power to
persuade. The checks and balances of congress and the Supreme Court over the president are great,
and without their support he has relatively little power. A president cannot get any legislation passed if
he does not have the support of the senate and or the house of representatives. If a president wanted
the US to sign a new treaty, the senate would have to ratify it with a 2/3 majority. If a president wanted
new legislation, he must submit it to congress and persuade both houses to vote for it. The ... Show

The president also has the power to appoint judges at district, appeal and Supreme Court levels. This
is argued as an important power, but it has its limits. After the nomination to the supreme court which
is the most superior of all courts, has been made, then the senate begins it s confirmation process. If
the senate does not reach a simple majority, as seen with Bork for example in 1987. With this in mind,
the president s power comes down to one thing: persuasion. This may be done in a variety of ways.
The most sucessful way is to telephone individual congressman and try and pursuade them that way.
President Raegan was extremely good at this. Another way is helping with legislation, i.e passing one
piece of legislation and not vetoing it if congress passes his legislation. A simple trade. However, in
actual fact the president has much more than the power to persuade. He has many options in a lot of
areas, though one of them is persuasion, and is the main power under the circumstances of late Clinton
for example, the others play a major part if a president has control of the senate and or the house of
representatives. The most important power a president has is the power to appoint Supreme Court
judges. This gives a president the chance to have their image in place for a long period of time, after
they are

Sulphuric Acid Production Should Not Be Banned
Background Information
Acids and bases are chemical compounds with certain properties, and are classified according to
several different definitions. There are clear distinctions between the two types of compounds, and
although they share some similarities in their physical and chemical properties, their uses and
applications vary greatly. Acids can be described as having a sour taste, producing hydronium ions in
water, forming a salt and water when reacted with a base and having a pH of less than 7. In contrast,
bases follow the descriptions that; they taste bitter, produce hydroxide anions in water, feel soapy
slippery and have a pH of more than 7. There are three chemistry based ... Show more content on

1. Strong acid + strong base  Salt + water
e.g. HNO3 + LiOH  LiNO3 + H2O
In this reaction, the products are always a salt and water. The salt, in a reaction between a strong acid a
strong base, always has a pH of 7.00. The produced ions will not react with the H2O.
2. Strong acid + weak base  Salt
e.g. H2SO4 + NH3  (NH4)2SO4
Usually, reactions between strong acids and weak bases do not result in water being formed, and
instead only a salt is produced. This is because weak bases usually do not have hydroxide ions.
3. Weak acid + strong base  Salt + water
e.g. HNO2 + NaOH  NaNO2 + H2O
The reaction between a weak acid and a strong base results in the production of a basic salt, i.e. a salt
with pH 7, and water.
4. Weak acid + weak base  Salt
e.g. HNO2 + HN3  NH4NO2
The pH of the solution formed from the reaction of a weak acid with a weak base depends on the
relative strengths of the reactants. For example, if the acid HClO has a Ka of 3.4 x 10 8 and the base
NH3 has a Kb = 1.6 x 10 5, then the aqueous solution of HClO and NH3will be basic because the Ka
of HClO is less than the Ka of NH3. (Helmenstine, 2004)
Production of Sulphuric Acid
Sulphuric acid, in its anhydrous form, cannot naturally occur on Earth; however, the natural formation
of sulphuric acid does occur, rarely, in a few different circumstances. One natural occurrence of
sulphuric acid happens due to the sulphur dioxide gas produced by volcanoes. Sulphur

Infant Language Development Essay
The understanding of the world can be defined as the infant s notion of other s and the surrounding.
The question is whether infants are pre programmed with an initial concept of the world. Many
experiments conducted supported the idea that a new born infant holds an understanding of the world.
Cognitive development of a human being begins during the prenatal period. Consequently, infants do
have a comprehension of the world. Infants are not mindless in fact they are born with the ability to
identify voices, faces, interact and perform metacognition. An infant is preloaded with a system
designed to socially develop completely. They are able to discern their mother tongue since they have
gotten a earful during the prenatal period, similarly with their mothers voices. An experiment was
performed to prove the validity of this. Ninety one infants from French families were tested with
English and Japanese. The infants were on pacifiers that functioned to calculate the times sucked. The
French infants sucking rate when hearing English sentences were higher than hearing Japanese
sentences. Infants can identify a familiar language by listening to the tempo the specific language.

A Study on Professional Learning Communities
Professional Learning Communities
Abstract
PLC means professional learning communities which are set up by teachers in order to help the
students who seem to be lagging behind the others academically. This is a way to reach out to the
students on a more personal level, where they get to interact not only with the books, but also with the
teachers who are able to guide them by recognizing their strengths and their weaknesses. This form of
assistance goes a long way in assisting the student develop a positive attitude towards studies and have
the zeal to excel by having a personal coach present to guide them whenever they get stuck or make a
mistake. This is a very encouraging way of ensuring homogenous learning in today s academic
institutions. The parents of the poorly performing students themselves seem grateful for the attention
given to their young ones, as it is any parent s dream to see their children excel academically, and at
the same time get value for their money.
Introduction
There have been studies carried out on this issue of PLC, as to whether it is functional not only in
theory, but also in practical, especially in a real school setting. For this reason, this essay will show
why this document best highlights this issue.
Professional Learning Communities
First of all, this study used a multiple case study in three schools that were below the required
standards and to find out how the theoretical ideas were being implemented in their practical
application.

Subjugation of Freedom in One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest
The Subjugation of Freedom in One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest Ken Kesey s book, One Flew Over
the Cuckoo s Nest, is a multi faceted work incorporating many thematic elements. One of the most
easily addressable themes is that of freedom and its limitations placed upon the characters in the
novel. Many types of freedoms are addressed ranging from the tangible and real to the perceived and
implied. The setting primarily takes place in a mental hospital on a locked ward which limits the
characters physical freedoms. The characters are constantly coerced and demeaned by the antagonist
Ms. Ratched which limits their mental freedoms. Beneath all is a subtext of sexual repression which is
constantly fought against by McMurphy. Individually, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sex is used in the novel as a representation of total freedom. Its exercise is almost always portrayed by
McMurphy who, through his general demeanor and newness to the hospital, is the most free, sexually,
of any of the men. He is so free, that it has gotten him into trouble as he only seems to be able to act
on impulse. Society is not able to deal with his complete abandon and he is eventually punished for it
by having a piece of his brain removed. The rest of the men are all repressed mostly due to some
problem they ve had with the women in their lives. In fact, it is their inability to deal with women that
brought them to the hospital in the first place. Women are portrayed throughout the book as the root of
all men s problems. Nurse Ratched is the penultimate figure of sexual repression. She does not
acknowledge her femininity but hides it successfully, but for her bosom, beneath her sterile, pressed
uniform. She is cold toward the men offering no real compassion and serves only to aggravate the men
s issues with women in general. Her power is finally stripped from her, quite literally, when
McMurphy rips open her uniform revealing her breasts, the symbol of femininity; she is a woman
after all.
Limiting or removing freedom boils down to control. Those who restrict freedoms wish to exercise
control upon those whose freedoms have been infringed. In the story, the restriction of all freedoms is

Fluttershy Alternate Ending
With the fall of Celestia and the return of nightmare moon, Equestria was in anarchy. The only safe
haven was Ponyville, where Cadence and Twilight were building the resistance. Fluttershy is under a
mind control spell cast by nightmare moon. Cadence and Twilight both knew that they had to find a
spell to break it or a spell to bring back Celestia. They had 1 week before the total annihilation of
Equestria. The only order I follow is the new nightmare republic! Fluttershy was deep under
nightmare moon s spell. No one knows how to break it... Yet. Fluttershy, listen I NO! I will not be
tricked into your lies of the sun! Screaming, Fluttershy cuts off Cadence as she knows what she was

From what we know, Nightmare moon s spell lets her feel, see, smell, taste and think what the ponies
under her spell are doing. The spell creates pressure inside the body, creating an excruciating pain. The
spell can cause internal bleeding, fainting, excrement flow and death. But, the good news is that she
only fainted. Cadence lets out a sigh of relief. So, nightmare moon might of let her go because of the
pain? Twilight questions Cadence. Yes... We are hoping that is the situation. Cadence! Twilight! She is
waking up!! Rainbow zooms up to the two princesses, almost crashing into them. Go, quickly!!
Cadence shouts at Twilight, commanding her to check if she is still under Nightmare moon s spell.
Twilight and Rainbow return to the shelter that Fluttershy is being held in to find Pinkie waiting for
them outside. The three friends rush inside. ... ... ... Fluttershy? A are you okay? Twilight says with a
quiet and caring voice. Three more ponies show up, Cadence, Rarity and Apple Jack. Rarity is a

Analysis Of Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried
The Silent Killer: An Analysis of Imagination Evolving into a Distraction in Tim O Brien s The
Things They Carried
In Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried , O Brien created several allusions that each character
endured during the Vietnam War. Throughout the story were vast representations of the things the
soldiers carried both mentally and physically. The things they carried symbolized their individual roles
internally and externally. In addition to the symbolism, imagination was a focal theme that stood out
amongst the characters. This particular theme played a role as the silent killer amongst Lt. Cross and
the platoon both individually and collectively as a group. The theme of imagination created an in
depth look of how the war was perceived through each character which helped emphasize their
thoughts from an emotional standpoint of being young men out at war.
Imagination hindered the platoon which clouded their judgment and decision making. Instead of
remaining focused their wandering mind lacked what was necessary, assessing the task at hand. In
some respects, though not many, the waiting was worse than the tunnel itself. Imagination was a killer.
(O Brien 619) In relation to the quote imagination was a killer , this metaphor represents how the
soldiers made situations like being in the tunnel mentally challenging for them. Paranoia quickly
consumed their thoughts and emotions before partaking in the actual mission. The men

Ebay Inc. ( Ebay )
EBay Inc. (EBAY) is a leading global commerce platform that enables individuals and businesses to
buy and sell products online. Over the past 20 years, it has become one of the largest online
marketplaces, with over 159 million active users around the world and more than 800 million items
for sale. EBay s vision is one that is enabled by people, powered by technology, and open to everyone
(What We Do). EBay runs a more decentralized commerce system than Amazon and other e
commerce companies. Their purpose is to act as a facilitator of peer to peer commerce rather than
maintain their own inventory and sell directly to consumers. This gives more power to eBay
marketplace sellers and allows for both auctions and fixed price sales. (EBay vs Amazon) With new
startups on the rise such as Etsy, SellSimple, and Threadflip, along with e commerce veterans such as
Amazon or Alibaba, eBay has to continuously work to improve its services to maintain its sellers and
continue to attract a larger consumer base. (Thomas) Using information technology and improved
information systems has helped eBay achieve their goals and differentiate the platform in an
increasingly competitive market.
In September 1995, eBay founder Pierre Omidyar launched AuctionWeb, an open marketplace for
buyers and sellers. Working alone for almost a year, Omidyar hired his first employee in June 1996,
and by July, AuctionWeb had already sold $7.2 million worth of merchandise. In September 1998,
eBay went public.

Willy Loman In Arthur Miller s Death Of A Salesman
Roman fabulist, Phaedrus, once wrote, Things are not always what they seem; the first appearance
deceives many... Truthfully, one cannot properly understand a person. Generally, people have
preconceived ideas and will make erroneous assumptions about others. It is difficult for some to see
through a fictitious exterior that one might fabricate. For example, in Death of a Salesman, the
characters view of Willy Loman drastically changes over the course of the play. In the Death of a
Salesman, Arthur Miller exploits the audience s view of Willy s character throughout the play via his
interactions with others.
To start, Willy is first characterized as a successful, esteemed salesman. Willy would frequently tell
Biff and Happy of the admiration others had for him; for example, Willy informed his boys of how he
met the Mayor of Providence for coffee. When the boys were young Willy would often mention his
success any chance he got. Therefore, as children, Biff and Happy adopted their father as a notable
role model. Because of Willy s remarks, the boys viewed their father as a very successful, well
respected businessman. For instance, Willy told them, I never have to wait to see a buyer....I go right
through (Miller 21). Willy s incessant speeches of his success only reinforced the flawless persona he
had created. Willy had a tendency to exaggerate his mediocre sales and success. The boys sole
perspective of their father were the fictitious stories he told. In the eyes of

Hotel s Park And The Surrounding Area
Regent s Park and the surrounding area is the product of extensive planning and represents an
interesting time for London s development; even today it is considered the greatest planning scheme in
London s history. The land that makes up the park was originally a forest known as Marylebone Park
and had been used by both royalty and farmers before the Regent development projects began in the
early 1800 s. This development included Regent s Park, Regent s canal and Regent Street; all part of
the grand scheme planned by architect John Nash and approved by the Prince Regent. The original
plans for the park were extravagant and included more than 50 villas in the park along with several
other structures including a church and a pleasure palace ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The leases for the farmlands of Marylebone Park were signed for 150 years and set to expire during
the year 1811, the same year in which the Regency began. The Regency Era began when George IV
became the Prince Regent in 1811 due to his father King George III s becoming unfit to rule. The
Prince enjoyed living a lavish and extravagant lifestyle and had a desire to create grandeur in arts and
architecture while in power. The Regency may have officially ended in 1820 when Prince Regent
became King George IV, but the era of Regency Architecture has loosely defined boundaries and can
be considered from the beginning of the 19th century until 1830 when King George IV died. Regency
architecture evolved out of the Georgian era and typically uses very similar forms although details in
materials, decoration and movement became more important in the Regency era. One of, if not the
most iconic architects of the Regency period is the architect for the Regent s Park scheme, John Nash.
John Nash was architect for the government offices of Woods and Forests when the Prince Regent
came to power and Nash s scheme for Regent s Park was presented almost immediately. The plan
appealed to the Prince Regent who was impressed by the extravagant nature and stated that his
developments of London, will quite eclipse Napoleon . John Nash impressed the Prince and became
the advisor on architecture, allowing him to

___________________________________ Vickie Lee Roach was a prisoner whose ability to vote
had been taken away by Commonwealth legislation. She argued that the legislation breached her
constitutional rights and argued her case in the High Court. Roach s disqualification from voting

Two judges, Kenneth Hayne and Dyson Heydon agreed also with Howard government s argument.
Both the judges also banned under 21 and most women not to vote, many states imposed property or
income qualifications, and most Aborigines and Pacific islanders and other coloured persons were
denied the vote. Their views on this argument were given by the majority judges to leave future
governments, and the parliamentary establishment as a whole, with substantial flexibility to wind back
voting rights. The outcome of the case was successful, for the legal system in terms of recognising that
there is constitutionally protected right to vote in Australia. Although Vickie Lee was in prision for
more than 3 years her right to vote was still denied and the original provisions of the Electoral Act
were upheld but she had served for her country and made a new law, 8000 prisoners were given back

Day Support Reflection
Ann, over the last two weeks I have been approached by a several different staff working in Day
Supports who have shared some serious concerns. The first few I acknowledge but when multiple staff
indicate the same concerns at some point I have to review what s taking place.
I was made aware that the CLS/Vocational groups are rotating and not set ?
I was made aware that many of the groups are not matched appropriately were individuals with lower
functioning abilities are grouped with folk seeking employment?
I was made aware that staff are not following the calendars and don t even truly understand the
purpose of using the calendars?
I was made aware that some staff are being bullied ?
I was informed that many of the staff believe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

I was informed yet again that many of the ISS/PS staff are driving EPIC vans during day hours
limiting the use of vans within programs?
A report ran for the time period( 5/1 5/27 indicates that over 70 % of your staff are not logging into or

I asked three different staff what they would do if there was issue with their van... they indicated they
would probably call management what was really unclear....
On Friday Christina and I met with one of the staff downstairs who clearly have issue with you for
some reason... he reports that he feels you have a respect and communication issue when dealing with

After the staff departed I chatted with Christina and she wasn t familiar with all the reported issues but
did indicate that many of the staff are struggling with accountability and task

Comparing The DISC And Jung Typology Personality Assessments
Defining a leadership style can be somewhat difficult. When looking at your personal leadership style
it is easier to define it by establishing your individual leadership traits. There are even many resources
available that help define leadership traits and determine which ones that you posses. Two of these
tools are the DISC and Jung Typology personality assessments. These two in particular have proven to
be useful by comparing the results of them to my leadership style. This process allows me to learn the
benefits of multiple leadership styles and traits in order to assess my current leadership style and the
style that I want to achieve in the future.

Memory Encoding Storage And Retrieval
There are three different basic processes of memory: encoding, storage, and retrieval. Memory is the
process by which we recollect prior experiences, information, and skills learned in the past. This lab
focuses on altering the retrieval stage. The retrieval stage consists of returning and locating memory
that is stored and bringing it to conscious thought. To be able to retrieve this information, one must
know knowledge of proper procedures. There is certain information in our memory that is so familiar
to us that it can be very difficult to forget. The method of retrieval depends on how a person encodes it
from the start. (Rathus, 2010).
The effect when a person recalls a memory that is less accurate because of false information given

Modern Day Slavery Is A Thing Of The Past We Read About...
Introduction
Many of Americans believe that slavery is a thing of the past we read about in text books during a
history lesson. However, today there exists a form of modern day slavery in America called sex
trafficking. A startling 14,588 cases in America of Sex Trafficking have been reported since 2007, and
these are only the cases that have been reported (Polaris, 2016). There is currently a mass market and
financial gain for the selling and purchasing of a Sex Trafficking victim. Our homeless youth,
domestic violence victims, and members of the LGBTQ community are among the most targeted of
victims (Polaris, 2016). They are coerced into believing there is a better life for them, with the grass is
greener on the other side view being perceived. Education of what perpetrators look for, who they are,
as well as who is targeted needs to be achieved when raising and speaking to youth. Our children must
be equipped with proper knowledge to know what signs to look for and to be aware of. Unfortunately,
the United State has become accustomed and used to this type of rape culture. Main stream images of
hyper sexed individuals flood the media. Pornography is just a click away. We live in a place where
young men are growing up thinking that purchasing sex from a prostitute is perfectly acceptable. With
the average age of a child entering into prostitution being 13 years old, the victim is publicly shamed
and looked down upon. Sex Traffickers target young girls and

  • 2. Sexual Orientation Discrimination Research Paper To begin with, the social inequality, sexual orientation, has a huge impact on people in America. Many that are homosexual, bisexual, or any other sexuality are being judged and have an unfair employment and income. One of the most common and general thing in sexual orientation discrimination, is the fact that people with a different sexuallity are being judged because they are not straight. It is not fair for humans that are a different sexuality to feel the need to hide it. They should be treated no differently than a straight person and should be able to express themselves without being judged or harmed. Also, many people are not heterosexual, and have a different sexuality like, homosexual or bisexual, this does not make them any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Essay Frank Sinatra Frank Sinatra was widely known from coast to coast. He was definitely one of the most popular stars of his era. (3) He, not only was a singer/ song writer, but as his career grew he shifted smoothly into acting and dancing. Ole Blue Eyes was an American icon who was capable of charming his way through each decade that rolled by. He had a sound that carried like no other. His soft voice could sweep women off their feet and right into his arms. Ole blue eyes had an extraordinary talent and sure did not waste it. It all started when Italian immigrants, Martin and Natalie Sinatra gave birth to a baby boy on December 12, 1915. On that night Francis Albert Sinatra was born not breathing. His grandmother decided to hold him ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He first started riding news trucks and delivering papers and then was promoted to copy boy. Frank desperately wanted to be a reporter, but when he asked the circulation manager he said that copy boys didn t know enough to be reporters. This pushed Sinatra to go enroll in Journalism class, studying English, typing, and shorthand. Finally, the editor relented and made Frank a cub sports reporter. Frank covered various school games he actually played himself. He was 18 years old at the time. (1) During this time Sinatra also preformed at amateur theater shows. He went from movie house to the next. He won a prize on a Major Bowes Hour, which landed him his first professional contract for one hundred and twenty five dollars a week for being a singer, head writer, master of ceremonies, and comedian at a country roadhouse called Rustic Cabin in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. (1) In 1939 Sinatra began working on a radio station WNEW in New York with Band leader Harry James for seventy five dollars a week. Six months with the James Band resulted in ten commercial recordings; some of which included All or Nothing at All in 1939. James released Frank in December of 1939 when Tommy Dorsey offered him a deal for eighty three recordings. This deal lasted from 1940 to 1942. • 5. My Experience An Experience College: An Experience Astronaut Frank Borman is quoted as saying, Exploration is really the essence of human spirit . When combatted with describing the first week of my new life as a Keystone College Giant, this quote appears in my mind. College has been described by some as the time and place for self discovery. And, through out this week of starting new classes, meeting new people, trying new things, and, creating and breaking habits, I think that I have begun to explore the person I want to become. The class of 2021 began this journey with a weekend packed with new memories and pleasant experiences. This was helpful in getting me settled in and ready to start my eight a.m. Calculus class on Monday morning. I had never realized just how much I could enjoy the morning until I experienced it here at Keystone. I was convinced that having five days of early classes was a set up to have the worst semester possible. However, when my alarm went off and I rolled out of bed, I was shocked to find the quiet campus and the aroma of fresh coffee rather warming. Although I tend to be a night owl I think that I may come to appreciate being an early bird as well. As I join the clusters of half awake students trudging to class, I notice things we have in common and small conversations start. Occasionally, small talk becomes longer discussions and I find myself surrounded by people that I could become very close friends with. One of the on going themes at orientation was forming ... • 7. What Does Shukhov Mean To Me I just spent twenty minutes trying to decide what I want for breakfast by reading over a 30 page nutrition guide. Then I cracked open my book and read, Apart from sleep, the only time a prisoner lives for himself is ten minutes in the morning at breakfast, five minutes over dinner, and five at supper (Solzhenitsyn 16). I spend a lot of time thinking about food, but I only take minutes to devour it. If it were up to me I could eat a half gallon of my favorite ice cream in one sitting. Shukhov, like many others today, could only dream about eating as much as his heart desired. No matter what or how much food he had, he always saved part of it. He was not just saving food, he was saving strength to both physically and mentally, get through the day. Shukhov s spoon was his most prized possession. That spoon was precious for a few reasons. It was with Shukhov during all of his trials and tribulations while in the gulag system. It represents his past experiences and dictates his future. It is symbolic of his identity and his history. He worried about anything he could make use of, about every scrap of work he could do nothing must be wasted without good reason (Solzhenitsyn 105). I think Shukhov kept himself occupied by doing all of those odd jobs. He viewed repairing shoes, tailoring, and saving a spot in line as an opportunity to earn food, not as a job. • 8. Organic Derivatives Of Water And Carbon Dioxide Background Information Alcohols are a class of organic compounds characterised by one or more hydroxyl ( OH) groups attached to a carbon atom of a hydrocarbon chain. They can be considered as organic derivatives of water and in which a hydrogen atom has been replaced by an alkyl group. Alcohols are a common form of organic compound and most are colourless liquids or solids at room temperature (Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2015). Combustion is the process of burning fuels or in this case alcohol. It is the chemical process in which the substance reacts rapidly with oxygen and gives off heat. The original substance is called the fuel and the source of oxygen is the oxidiser (Grc.nasa.gov, 2015)). Here the alcohol is the fuel and the oxidiser is air that passes through. During combustion any hydrocarbon source and oxygen yields carbon dioxide, water and energy. During this process the hydrocarbon oxidises into water and carbon dioxide (Bbc.co.uk, 2015). The temperature of this substance is quite high because of the heat transferred to exhaust during combustion. The combustion process can be controlled or stopped by controlling the amount of fuel available, the amount of oxygen available and the source of heat (Grc.nasa.gov, 2015). However, because plenty of air is needed for combustion, an insufficient amount of air will result in incomplete or partial combustion. Hydrogen is still oxidised into water but carbon monoxide forms instead of carbon dioxide in the form of solid ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The Internet Of Things, And Its Influence On Globalization The Internet of Things (IoT), and its influence on globalization, is changing the way of life in developed and developing countries. Making great strides in connecting the world, technology brings people together through email, live chats, social networking, and video. Yet, with increased technology comes increased threats to data loss, identity theft, and privacy concerns, especially considering the underbelly of the IoT where cybercrime threats challenge security. The IoT contains three general areas known as the Surface Web, the Deep Web, and the Dark Web (see Appendix A). The Surface Web is much smaller than the other two put together. The Surface Web only makes up about four percent of the Internet and the Deep Web/Dark Web combined makes up the balance of about 96%. However, the Dark Web itself only comprises about 0.01% of the Internet. The Surface Web is the section of the Internet that the general population surfs daily using an ever expanding availability of commercially developed web browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. Surface Web sites are accessible through Bing, Google, Yahoo, and other search engines. Made up of publicly searchable sites, the Surface Web offers corporate sites, email, forums, government sites, news outlets, online storefronts, and social networking. The Deep Web holds countless sensitive databases, medical and legal information, government reports, sensitive papers, publications, password protected data, and private ... • 12. Examples Of Affective Commitment a. Affective commitment (meyer and allen 1997) Affective commitment measures the level of attachment and affection that an individual has with the company. Employees sometimes get emotionally attached to their company and this can be due to several reasons for example, good internal relations, good atmosphere, friendly environment and peer motivation (Van Knippenberg Sleebos, 2006). When an employee gets attention and prominent identity in a company, he/she gets associated to it by heart and then it becomes a reason for them to stay in the company and not leave their jobs. This dimensions tells that an employee will not leave the job in organization because he do not want to leave it. So this is the congruence between organizational goals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Employees under this category think that they have to be in this organization because they should be (Meyer Parfyonova, 2010). This dimension links the employees moral and ethical attitude towards the organization. They consider it as an obligation to be loyal to their company if the company is doing something good for them (Gellatly, Meyer, Luchak, 2006). These kind of employees remain loyal to the company as they think their company is providing them with benefits and meeting their needs so they should be loyal to their company in anyway. It shows that this type of employees stay in organization even if they are not completely satisfied with their jobs or even if they get better opportunities they will stick to their company (Gellatly et al., 2006). Employees with this mind think they should consider their place as priority based on several factors, for example, they think that the company has paid a lot of money on their training so they should not waste this effort of the organization and pay it back with their loyalty and commitment. So this dimension links the social and moral duty of individuals with their company s goals (Powell Meyer, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Presidents Power to Persuade Essay Presidents Power to Persuade The president of the United States of America is seen around the world to be the most powerful man on Earth. However, many believe that his only real power is the power to persuade. The checks and balances of congress and the Supreme Court over the president are great, and without their support he has relatively little power. A president cannot get any legislation passed if he does not have the support of the senate and or the house of representatives. If a president wanted the US to sign a new treaty, the senate would have to ratify it with a 2/3 majority. If a president wanted new legislation, he must submit it to congress and persuade both houses to vote for it. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The president also has the power to appoint judges at district, appeal and Supreme Court levels. This is argued as an important power, but it has its limits. After the nomination to the supreme court which is the most superior of all courts, has been made, then the senate begins it s confirmation process. If the senate does not reach a simple majority, as seen with Bork for example in 1987. With this in mind, the president s power comes down to one thing: persuasion. This may be done in a variety of ways. The most sucessful way is to telephone individual congressman and try and pursuade them that way. President Raegan was extremely good at this. Another way is helping with legislation, i.e passing one piece of legislation and not vetoing it if congress passes his legislation. A simple trade. However, in actual fact the president has much more than the power to persuade. He has many options in a lot of areas, though one of them is persuasion, and is the main power under the circumstances of late Clinton for example, the others play a major part if a president has control of the senate and or the house of representatives. The most important power a president has is the power to appoint Supreme Court judges. This gives a president the chance to have their image in place for a long period of time, after they are ... • 14. Sulphuric Acid Production Should Not Be Banned Essay example Sulphuric Acid Production Should Not Be Banned Background Information Acids and bases are chemical compounds with certain properties, and are classified according to several different definitions. There are clear distinctions between the two types of compounds, and although they share some similarities in their physical and chemical properties, their uses and applications vary greatly. Acids can be described as having a sour taste, producing hydronium ions in water, forming a salt and water when reacted with a base and having a pH of less than 7. In contrast, bases follow the descriptions that; they taste bitter, produce hydroxide anions in water, feel soapy slippery and have a pH of more than 7. There are three chemistry based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1. Strong acid + strong base  Salt + water e.g. HNO3 + LiOH  LiNO3 + H2O In this reaction, the products are always a salt and water. The salt, in a reaction between a strong acid a strong base, always has a pH of 7.00. The produced ions will not react with the H2O. 2. Strong acid + weak base  Salt e.g. H2SO4 + NH3  (NH4)2SO4 Usually, reactions between strong acids and weak bases do not result in water being formed, and instead only a salt is produced. This is because weak bases usually do not have hydroxide ions. 3. Weak acid + strong base  Salt + water e.g. HNO2 + NaOH  NaNO2 + H2O The reaction between a weak acid and a strong base results in the production of a basic salt, i.e. a salt with pH 7, and water. 4. Weak acid + weak base  Salt e.g. HNO2 + HN3  NH4NO2 The pH of the solution formed from the reaction of a weak acid with a weak base depends on the relative strengths of the reactants. For example, if the acid HClO has a Ka of 3.4 x 10 8 and the base NH3 has a Kb = 1.6 x 10 5, then the aqueous solution of HClO and NH3will be basic because the Ka of HClO is less than the Ka of NH3. (Helmenstine, 2004) Production of Sulphuric Acid Sulphuric acid, in its anhydrous form, cannot naturally occur on Earth; however, the natural formation of sulphuric acid does occur, rarely, in a few different circumstances. One natural occurrence of sulphuric acid happens due to the sulphur dioxide gas produced by volcanoes. Sulphur ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Infant Language Development Essay The understanding of the world can be defined as the infant s notion of other s and the surrounding. The question is whether infants are pre programmed with an initial concept of the world. Many experiments conducted supported the idea that a new born infant holds an understanding of the world. Cognitive development of a human being begins during the prenatal period. Consequently, infants do have a comprehension of the world. Infants are not mindless in fact they are born with the ability to identify voices, faces, interact and perform metacognition. An infant is preloaded with a system designed to socially develop completely. They are able to discern their mother tongue since they have gotten a earful during the prenatal period, similarly with their mothers voices. An experiment was performed to prove the validity of this. Ninety one infants from French families were tested with English and Japanese. The infants were on pacifiers that functioned to calculate the times sucked. The French infants sucking rate when hearing English sentences were higher than hearing Japanese sentences. Infants can identify a familiar language by listening to the tempo the specific language. (Nazzi et al,. 1998) Neonates are born with perceptual constancy. • 21. Subjugation of Freedom in One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest The Subjugation of Freedom in One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest Ken Kesey s book, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, is a multi faceted work incorporating many thematic elements. One of the most easily addressable themes is that of freedom and its limitations placed upon the characters in the novel. Many types of freedoms are addressed ranging from the tangible and real to the perceived and implied. The setting primarily takes place in a mental hospital on a locked ward which limits the characters physical freedoms. The characters are constantly coerced and demeaned by the antagonist Ms. Ratched which limits their mental freedoms. Beneath all is a subtext of sexual repression which is constantly fought against by McMurphy. Individually, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sex is used in the novel as a representation of total freedom. Its exercise is almost always portrayed by McMurphy who, through his general demeanor and newness to the hospital, is the most free, sexually, of any of the men. He is so free, that it has gotten him into trouble as he only seems to be able to act on impulse. Society is not able to deal with his complete abandon and he is eventually punished for it by having a piece of his brain removed. The rest of the men are all repressed mostly due to some problem they ve had with the women in their lives. In fact, it is their inability to deal with women that brought them to the hospital in the first place. Women are portrayed throughout the book as the root of all men s problems. Nurse Ratched is the penultimate figure of sexual repression. She does not acknowledge her femininity but hides it successfully, but for her bosom, beneath her sterile, pressed uniform. She is cold toward the men offering no real compassion and serves only to aggravate the men s issues with women in general. Her power is finally stripped from her, quite literally, when McMurphy rips open her uniform revealing her breasts, the symbol of femininity; she is a woman after all. Limiting or removing freedom boils down to control. Those who restrict freedoms wish to exercise control upon those whose freedoms have been infringed. In the story, the restriction of all freedoms is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried The Silent Killer: An Analysis of Imagination Evolving into a Distraction in Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried In Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried , O Brien created several allusions that each character endured during the Vietnam War. Throughout the story were vast representations of the things the soldiers carried both mentally and physically. The things they carried symbolized their individual roles internally and externally. In addition to the symbolism, imagination was a focal theme that stood out amongst the characters. This particular theme played a role as the silent killer amongst Lt. Cross and the platoon both individually and collectively as a group. The theme of imagination created an in depth look of how the war was perceived through each character which helped emphasize their thoughts from an emotional standpoint of being young men out at war. Imagination hindered the platoon which clouded their judgment and decision making. Instead of remaining focused their wandering mind lacked what was necessary, assessing the task at hand. In some respects, though not many, the waiting was worse than the tunnel itself. Imagination was a killer. (O Brien 619) In relation to the quote imagination was a killer , this metaphor represents how the soldiers made situations like being in the tunnel mentally challenging for them. Paranoia quickly consumed their thoughts and emotions before partaking in the actual mission. The men ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

EBay s vision is one that is enabled by people, powered by technology, and open to everyone (What We Do). EBay runs a more decentralized commerce system than Amazon and other e commerce companies. Their purpose is to act as a facilitator of peer to peer commerce rather than maintain their own inventory and sell directly to consumers. This gives more power to eBay marketplace sellers and allows for both auctions and fixed price sales. (EBay vs Amazon) With new startups on the rise such as Etsy, SellSimple, and Threadflip, along with e commerce veterans such as Amazon or Alibaba, eBay has to continuously work to improve its services to maintain its sellers and continue to attract a larger consumer base. Truthfully, one cannot properly understand a person. Generally, people have preconceived ideas and will make erroneous assumptions about others. It is difficult for some to see through a fictitious exterior that one might fabricate. For example, in Death of a Salesman, the characters view of Willy Loman drastically changes over the course of the play. In the Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller exploits the audience s view of Willy s character throughout the play via his interactions with others. To start, Willy is first characterized as a successful, esteemed salesman. Willy would frequently tell Biff and Happy of the admiration others had for him; for example, Willy informed his boys of how he met the Mayor of Providence for coffee. When the boys were young Willy would often mention his success any chance he got. Therefore, as children, Biff and Happy adopted their father as a notable role model. Because of Willy s remarks, the boys viewed their father as a very successful, well respected businessman. For instance, Willy told them, I never have to wait to see a buyer....I go right through (Miller 21). Willy s incessant speeches of his success only reinforced the flawless persona he had created. Willy had a tendency to exaggerate his mediocre sales and success. The boys sole perspective of their father were the fictitious stories he told. In the eyes of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Prince enjoyed living a lavish and extravagant lifestyle and had a desire to create grandeur in arts and architecture while in power. The Regency may have officially ended in 1820 when Prince Regent became King George IV, but the era of Regency Architecture has loosely defined boundaries and can be considered from the beginning of the 19th century until 1830 when King George IV died. Regency architecture evolved out of the Georgian era and typically uses very similar forms although details in materials, decoration and movement became more important in the Regency era. One of, if not the most iconic architects of the Regency period is the architect for the Regent s Park scheme, John Nash.
