Definition Essay-Money Happy Rough Draft
Money Happy Rough Draft
There will never be a moment where you are happy if you are alone with nothing else but money.
Having money will not be the reason you are happy in life. The way to be actually happy in life is to
have the things money can t buy like being with your loved ones , something else money does is
consume a person in a negative way .
In a point of your life you realize that money cannot buy everything, and you start regretting most of
your actions. For example, My oldest cousin, yvonne, didn t not listen to her mother and spent her
whole inheritance in about two years. She decided to leave my aunt s house and move away from
home. Unfortunately, about three months later my cousin came back, broke, no car, no home,
bankrupted,

Social Control through Works of Fiction
Vampire stories have universal themes that provide the backbone for every dark tale. The unholy
essence that any vampire story provides sets the stage for the message that the Church is the way of
life and will save you from creatures of evil. From in class readings, we can see all the major religious
themes of the classic vampire story. The common religious theme is the abscess of light is the absence
of holiness and is the path to eternal damnation. Darkness is the prime universal fear of humanity
mostly because we, as a species, are not nocturnal creatures; therefore, we have developed a fear of
the predator filled darkness of night. Using figurative descriptions of darkness as the enemy, the
Church preaches the way of the light. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cross burned into his flesh like a hot coal. He snatched back his hand but the burning metal clung.
He felt the heat of it coursing up his arm, and hurled it savagely across the room (Miller). This burning
sensation that the cross gives vampires is the Churches connection and reminder that someone or
something that does not follow the way of the cross will be burned eternally in Hell. Vampire
protection is the Church s way of creating fear that will ultimately lead to the fearful turning back to
the Church for protection and guidance. With the turn of sexual culture in the Victorian Era, Church
leaders needed to establish a way to regain a tight grip on society as a whole.
Comparable themes in vampire stories and Biblical stories are evident within the class readings. The
story of Shambleau by Catherine L. Moore begins with a mob on the hunt for a creature by the name
of Shambleau, only to be confronted by a man by the name of Northwest Smith who is opposed to
giving Shambleau up to the crowd. This confrontation of an angry crowd show striking resemblance
to the story of Jesus Christ and Pontius Pilate whereas an angry mob demanded the governor Pontius
Pilate to give up Jesus to be crucified just as the angry mob in Shambleau wanted Shambleau to be
given up to the crowd. He let loose a deep throated bellow, Shambleau! and lunged forward. Behind
him the mob took up the cry again. Shambleau! Shambleau! Shambleau! and surged after

Examples Of Argumentative Essay On The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby Argumentative Essay
In the novel the Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the observations of the character named Nick
Carraway reflects upon the life of Jay Gatsby and his surroundings. The 20th century is masked by the
glamour and parties. It displays a wondrous era full of wealth. Even though money is the key to this
fantasy it is just that... a fantasy. The happiness and reality of life fails to complete on behalf of these
rich people. Gatsby seems to have all the riches and fame, although these things cannot fulfil the
happiness he desires of Daisy Buchanan.
The roaring twenties was a era that defines the word magnetism. It attracts people to this day because
of the beauty and golden environment. Jay Gatsby symbolizes the thriving society of this era. He
could acquire anything he desires at any moment needed. Although, once time passes the desires
become a normality. The excitement of obtaining a new object or going to explore seize. Gatsby loses
the happiness once felt and begins to feel the loneliness within his heart. Bliss and happiness reflects
upon those receiving love of some sort. In this case, Gatsby lacks this precious gift. In acquiring
Daisy, a long lost love, he believes his life will find its meaning. ... Show more content on

Carraway observes his odd behaviors and soon discovers of the sparkling love within these two. He
watches the love of two forbidden souls thrive in each other s presence. The smile Gatsby holds stands
out from any other time in the novel for the simple fact of it being genuine. The author assures the
reader of the 20th century for the example of true happiness. All the amazing aspects override the
novel in order to prove this point. Gatsby could be the richest man alive, but to look into his life such
as Carraway did the reality would

Summary Of Happiness By Jane Kenyon
The speaker of the poem Happiness by Jane Kenyon doesn t seem like a person to have a very happy
and positive personality. The speaker explains more negative examples throughout the poem rather
than positive. For instance, she explain happiness as, It comes to the monk in his cell (line 20). This
quote makes people question the thoughts the speaker because monks are a member of a religious
community of men typically living under vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. In other words, a
monk living in a cell wouldn t bring happiness to them. Also the author explains, It comes to the
woman sweeping the street with a birch broom (line 21). This line in the poem also makes people
question what the authors meaning of happiness is because it

1984 North Korea
It seems as though, North Korea used the novel 1984 as a playbook for how to form a new
government, which suffocates its citizens with tyranny and preposterous propaganda. In 1984, George
Orwell depicts a dystopian society called Oceania, ruled by a supposed all knowing dictator named
Big Brother. In the novel, Big Brother seems to have brainwashed almost all of the citizens of
Oceania. Sadly, this seems to ring true in North Korea today. North Korea has redacted parts of 1984
and rewritten their name in place of Big Brother s. Due to the striking resemblance of North Korea to
Oceania, one can infer that North Korea is becoming dangerously close to fulfilling Orwell s warning.
North Korea implements an almost mirror image government structure ... Show more content on

There are different levels of party/government workers as well, the Inner Party, and the Outer Party.
The Inner Party members have special privileges such as, being well fed and access to luxury items
such as real chocolate, coffee, books, and they have the ability to turn off telescreens. Telescreens are
television like screens that project messages from the party television network, although they also
have a camera inside which records audio and visual of any activity around the screen. The ability to
turn off the telescreens as Inner Party members please is a significant luxury because this allows for
them to have a significant amount of privacy that Outer Party members and other citizens could only
dream of. Although, Outer Party members are surveillance twenty four hours a day, seven days a
week, three hundred sixty five days a year. This type of surveillance has physiological effects on
people. For example, Harvard magazine shared results from a study that revealed: surveillance related
chilling effects, by deterring people from exercising their rights, including ...the freedom to read,
think, and communicate privately... (The Watchers 2017). Unfortunately, this government tactic is
very effective in striking fear into the hearts of citizens because they are aware they can be caught and
there is physical evidence to prove their guilt.

A staff member is a person who devotes much of their time just to help other players in need. It truly
is fascinating to me. I, just like many other staff members, am extremely passionate about making the
community a better place for everyone. I have been playing this game for 7 years and this is my 6th
year being involved in the hcf community. I have seen much bias, discrimination, and overall hate
towards people just because they are not known enough. But in my eyes, everyone within the hcf
community is an equal, and should be treated like one. This means giving second chances for
improvement or change if requested, banning a famous player even though I may get hate, or even just
moving people in teamspeak evenly, to be sure no one gets upset. I strive to provide the best playing
experience possible for any player regardless of his or hers ranking within the community. If our
players are happy, than I am happy. I will make sure that each player who joins the network will be
met with kind words and best regards. I plan to help as many people possible through simple actions

The Original Riot Grrrls By Elizabeth Cady Stanton
The Original Riot Grrrls The 19th Amendment guarantees a vote for women in the United States of
America, but how did this constitutional change happen? Many females prior to this accomplishment
faced struggles from external forces that denied their rights and capabilities. Feminism and equal
rights were and still are prominent in American society. In order to provide women of the future what
is rightfully theirs, women during the 1700s have taken control of their opinions and used their strong
will to make the necessary changes in American society. During the Seneca Falls Convention,
Elizabeth Cady Stanton exclaimed in her address, The right is ours. The question now is: how shall we
get possession of what rightfully belongs to us, (Stanton). The leaders, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and
Lucretia Mott of the Seneca Falls Convention, along with other female leaders, displayed civil
disobedience, provided powerful lectures, and organized conventions that gave a new perspective on
gender equality.
Women s rights in America have been a major concern ever since the thirteen colonies sought their
independence from Great Britain. Abigail Adams embodied an important role in women s property
and equal education rights. Abigail Adams, was married to John Adams, a founding father and major
contributor to the completion of the Declaration of Independence (United States). As her husband and
other men drafted the Declaration of Independence, Abigail Adams proposed to her husband in a

Integrative Approaches Of Psychology And Christianity
In his book, Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity, David Entwistle (2010) provides a
persuasive discourse for the assimilation of psychology and theology; secular and religious disciplines
that present a multifaceted dialogue shaped by historical interactions and tensions. (p. 51) Of the two
systems, psychology is by much of the Church thought to advocate reason over revelation whereas
theology is, by more secular leaning scholars, thought to be wanting of intellect. With Tertullian s
libretti, what indeed has Athens to do with Jerusalem? (p. 8) in addition to modernism s philosophy of
self consciousness and the skepticism of postmodernism continuing to fan the flames of segregation,
the flawed logic that an integration of psychology and theology is not possible ensues. Throughout his
book, David Entwistle (2010) recurrently echoes the theme that all truth is God s truth. (p. 16)
Entwistle further claims that a person can discern truth from both of God s books (i.e., His Word and
His Works). Entwistle affirms that because God has systematically ordered both His Word and His
Works in such a way that makes integration possible, both psychology and theology are correct in
their interpretations. Nevertheless, religion and psychology are systems of finite understanding and
presuppositions. Therefore, while the certainty that all truth comes from God does not excuse error
from either discipline it does allow for integration since both seek to bare

How Does Pecola Affect Society
Toni Morrison s novel The Bluest Eyes is about a young adolescent girl named Pecola who made no
attempt to fight back against those who mocked her or damaged her body and mentality. Pecola s
peculiarness caused the people around her to become aware of her difference, which made them hate
her for the ugliness that reflected in themselves. My opinion of this novel is that Morrison inserted a
society where they used Pecola as a punching bag, and a scapegoat to illuminate the superficialness of
perceived beauty in the novel. I think Morrison was trying to highlight how beauty and love can go
hand in hand; but the two factors can be destructive as well if one has neither of them. If someone is
beautiful, then they will be loved more than a less beautiful person Pecola is considered ugly and she
wants to look like talented and beautiful Shirley Temple who is an idol among society. Pecola s life
was also lacking love as it did beauty her household had no time for affection, and her parents were
bitter and engrossed in their own reality. The lack of love and lack of beauty hurt Pecola along with
the mockery and damage she received from society caused her to isolate herself by becoming insane
so she could not be hurt ever again. In the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

who showed sympathy for Pecola, and treated her normally, that is until she got pregnant and went

Brown V. Board Of Education Of Topeka
Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, 347 U.S. 483 (1954), was a landmark United States Supreme
Court case in which the Court declared state laws establishing separate public schools for black and
white students to be unconstitutional. The decision overturned the Plessy v. Ferguson decision of
1896, which allowed state sponsored segregation, insofar as it applied to public education. Handed
down on May 17, 1954, the Warren Court s unanimous (9 0) decision stated that separate educational
facilities are inherently unequal. As a result, de jure racial segregation was ruled a violation of the
Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. This ruling
paved the way for integration and was a major victory of the Civil Rights Movement.[1] However, the
decision s fourteen pages did not spell out any sort of method for ending racial segregation in schools,
and the Court s second decision in Brown II only ordered states to desegregate with all deliberate

OCD (Obsessive compulsive disorder). Sedaris writes, If I were to lose count of my steps, I d have to

young child included his unsettling tics , which he had little to no control over. It never fails to amaze
me that people might notice these things. Because my actions were so intensely private, I had always
assumed they were somewhat invisible (Sedaris 362). Ironically, Sedaris refers to his tics as actions

Analysis Of The Dark Side Of The Eyes Of Man
Dashing through the luscious green undergrowth, the prey enters my vision. The animal evades me
entering through the cloudy mist. With the mugging humidity my skin begins to perspire. I roll up my
sleeves on my outgrown leather jacket up my arms with great difficulty. Reappearing into my vision, I
draw nearer to my prey. I swiftly draw back my bow and a burning sensation finds its way into my
muscles as the tension of the bowstring throughout my hunt increasingly menaces me. Whizzing
through the mist the arrow strikes the unaware creature dead in between his deep blue eyes. After I
retrieve the arrow, I carefully bundle up my prize into my burlap sack.
Sharp piercing shouts, belonging to my elder brothers, blare throughout woods. Following the sound
of his voice, I navigate through the fog to find the source of clamor. I bumble past branches as I
awkwardly lug my game in my hefty bag. Upon finding them, Peter calls my attention to the most
majestic composition of nature ever beheld by the eyes of man. The Great Conductor s glorious touch
perfectly aligning all aspects of this spectacle. Radiant beams of light illuminate the masterpiece.
Beautifully detailed shrubbery outlines the painting. Warm, vibrant blue water cascades off the
carefully chiseled cliff and into a pond teeming with life and activity. The waters of Eden left
flawlessly untouched.
As I draw back out of my trance I can see the expressions of amazement written on the faces of my
brothers.

Sling Blade Essay
Sling Blade
Film directed by and screen play by Billy Bob Thornton.
Theme
Sling Blade s main theme is the redemption of Karl s lost childhood. Karl Childer s overly religious
parents believed he was a punishment from God. They severely abused him, treated him like an
animal, and forced him to live in a shed in solitude. Everyone in town picked on him and called him
names. He was seen as a retard or slower than others. He had little to call his own. His only
possessions were a Bible and several books on Christmas and carpentry. Karl was taught the Bible as a
child, but it wasn t really the Bible. The stories they told him were not in the Bible. His parents had

Through a deadly crime, Karl freed his young friend from a life of pain and despair, only to end up
back where he began at the nut house . The choice of right or wrong seemed to make good and evil
equal.
The main point of Sling Blade was to convey the message that sometimes wrong can be right.
Symbolically, killing with the switchblade represents for cutting away the troubles that get in the way.
Sling Blade was a subjective film. It seduces the audience to emphasize with Frank and Karl and think
the way the director wants.
Elements
The first element I found that supported the theme was the script. The actors dialogues shaped the
characters roles. Karl adopted a new dialect. He picked up a backwoods, disturbed, monotone,
punctuated by a throaty um hmmm . Karl s dialogue showed that he spoke in a simple way. He
avoided complicated, fancy language. He spoke like a child, slow and easy, while the others in the
movie indicated more education through their speaking. Karl explained the way he was treated as a
child, his love for Frank, and his fear of Doyle. His moments of silence revealed his reflection, his
caged up behavior, and his childlike manner. Karl s words shaped him as gentle and to the point. Karl
told Frank s mamma she s good for Frank. He let people know their worth. At the end Karl stated, the
world was too big . He

depicts the average amount of DDT ingestion for each and every species. Since I knew the formula to

The second column depicts the amount of energy for one species under each category. For example,
only one phytoplankton contains 200 kcal within its body. Likewise, that column of my table depicts
the amount of energy that each individual of the species have within their bodies. The next column,
column C, shows the total amount of energy for each and every categories through kcal. For instance,
there are 100 phytoplanktons in the lake. Each phytoplankton contains 200 kcal of energy within their
bodies. Therefore, if you multiply 200 with 100, you get the total amount of energy which is 20000.
The last column basically illustrates the name of the trophic level the species belong in this lab. You

To be an anti hero, a character must be a common man that is portrayed as a good person but with bad
qualities. For the most part, an anti hero is also a person that a reader can relate to, someone who has
experienced a form of tragedy through series of events that the character can t control. Tragedies that

The Instrumentalist Theory Of Ethnic Conflict In Aceh
For instrumentalists, resource, especial the scarce resource, always being an important factor of ethnic
conflicts. Lake and Rothchild stand on the strand of rational choice, they assume that scarce resources
related to the collective fear of the future, and politics are means for groups to control the access to
scarce resources. For instrumentalists, ethnic identity is not valuable in and of itself, it is basically a
mask for a core of real interests (Varshney 2009, 288). The case of conflicts in Aceh approave this
assertion that competition for resources typically lies at the heart of ethnic conflict. Therefore, this
short answer will be two fold: first, a critical understanding of instrumantalism will be provided in
order to illustrate why resources are important? Second, a case of Aceh will be explained along with
the instrumentalism.
In the article Containing Fear: The Origins and Management of Ethnic Conflict, Lake and Rothchild
sited that the intense ethnic conflict is most often caused by collective fear of the future (Lake and
Rothchild 1996, 41). Their explanatory framework is rational choice oriented which based on the
instrumentalist theory of ethnic conflict. For instrumentalists, ethnicity mask a deeper core of interests
(Varshney 2009, 282). Therefore, along with ethnic lines, all scarce resourses arouse competition and
struggles between individuals as well as organized ethnic groups (Lake and Rothchild 1996, 44 45),
and such competition movements can only

Lack Of Privacy On The Internet
There seems to be no legal issue today that cuts so wide a swath through conflicts confronting
American society like privacy. From AIDS tests to wiretaps, polygraph tests to computerized data
bases, the common denominator has been whether the right to privacy outweighs other concerns of
society. And with more and more people using the Internet, more and more information being passed
over the Internet, more problems arise. The Internet has been an advantage in technology that has
greatly increased the capacities of a computer. These new capacities have been the cause of some
serious problems though. One very important trouble is the lack of privacy on the Internet. People
pass so much important information over the Internet and they expect it to be safe from others.
Information passed over the Internet can in fact be intercepted and read by other people. For many
years, people have been oblivious to the lack of privacy with more and more information being passed
through, people want something to ensure their privacy. Especially when it comes to certain actions
like accepting terms and services which are routine but dismissed, when in fact, they should be
heavily regarded. Privacy matters because
Cooperation, unity and compromise are needed to resolve the growing tension between security and
privacy. Some believe security, at the expense of privacy, is un American and unconstitutional. Others
say security must take precedence over all to ensure the safety of the

If People Were Good For Homeless People
Many people believe that all human natural reactions were good. Although, the word good has many
definitions. One of the main definitions is, that which is morally right; righteousness (Google 1). This
means that being good is doing the right thing. If being good means to do the right thing then why are
there orphanages, wars, homeless people, and police? If people were good, then they would do the
right thing and adopt children in orphanages. If people were good, then countries would help each
other instead of fighting. If people were good, then there would not be homeless people on the streets
not being helped. If people were good, then there would not be policemen trying to stop murderers or

Essay on A Comparison of Gustave Flaubert and Madame Bovary
A Comparison of Gustave Flaubert and Madame Bovary
We would like to think that everything in life is capable, or beyond the
brink of reaching perfection. It would be an absolute dream to look upon each
day with a positive outlook. We try to establish our lives to the point where
this perfection may come true at times, although, it most likely never lasts.
There s no real perfect life by definition, but instead, the desire and
uncontrollable longing to reach this dream.

Once Emma becomes fed up and realizes that he is a sad creature
(Flaubert 78), she begins her little quest to find the right man through a binge
of affairs and broken hearts.
The author of Madame Bovary, Gustave Flaubert, was born in Rouen France
(Kunitz 280). He grew up in a rather wealthy and prosperous family as a result
of his father being a successful doctor (Kunitz 280). This could easily relate
to the fact that Charles Bovary was a doctor too.
During Flaubert s younger years, he was alone most of the time. He
didn t have any friends and normally spent his days in solitude. This gave him
time to focus on his literature (Flaubert i). Since Flaubert s academics and
knowledge of literature were released at such an early age, it is explainable to
see how his profound talent was released (Flaubert i). He began to write plays
at around the age of ten. These were in depth, romantic plays that adults would
learn to appreciate (Kunitz 280). At that time Flaubert focused his attention
on the study of History and the writings of numerous romantics as well (Kunitz
280).
Flaubert was later sent to an intermediate school in Paris to further
strengthen his academic standings (Kunitz 280). Upon completion of that, he

long time ago, or that was not us, or that it does not mean anything to them. This was the beginning of
what happened to us, and how the African Americans became lost of themselves. They were forced to
take on Christianity, which is a made up religion that the Caucasian race made up to rule and have
power over the African Americans at that time. The Bible is their book that they follow today, but the
Holy Qur an is truly their holy book. The Bible has been set in a way for the African race to believe in
at that time. The people took out the real parts of the Bible, and put in their own interpretations to be
believed in. This is what the Africans were taught, and forced to take on. Islam is the fastest growing
religion today amongst the African Americans. Many African Americans are reverting back to Al
Islam. The African Americans think that there is no one that cares about them. The Honorable Elijah
Muhammad came back for the African Americans. He came to raise the African Americans up, and to
wake them up to bring them back to consciousness Islam. He let them know that Allah cares about
them, and that it is his mission to teach Islam to the African Americans in particular. This shows that
Allah (God) cared for the African American people. It is the African Americans that will not take heed

Simon Says Research Paper
Simon Says is a game that helps in the development of a child s performance skills during middle
childhood. It is a great way to help them exercise their listening skills and self control. The game helps
to develop the child s motor, processing, and social skills. In this paper, I will discuss how to play
Simon Says and briefly discuss how the game helps contribute to a child s performance skills motor,
processing, and social. Simon Says is played with three or more players. To play, one person takes the
role of Simon and starts off by saying, Simon says, [insert action command here] . Everyone must
then perform the action Simon says to do. If Simon makes an action command without saying, Simon

For example, if Simon says to stand on one foot, it helps the child stabilize. If Simon says to lift one
arm up, it helps them practice their reach. If Simon says to touch your toes, the child bends down.
Many different motor skills can be exercised during this game, it all depends on what Simon says to
do. Simon Says is also helps children to exercise their processing skills. In playing the game, it helps
the child to practice either giving or following directions. Sequencing is practiced as Simon says to
jump first, and then pat your head. The child notices and responds to Simon s action requests and
other friends playing the game, which in turn teaches them self control. They learn to be patient,
listen, and follow directions. Lastly, Simon Says helps the child exercise their social skills. In order to
participate in the game, they must approach others and interact with them. This helps them express
emotion and gesticulate during the game from the excitement of who performs an action correctly, and
who does not. They respond to Simon s requests by carefully listening to Simon and acknowledging
what he says to do, which in turn teaches the child to listen and follow directions. They learn to take
turns being Simon which contributes to learning how to

Symbolism In The Dog Of Pompeii
Which place is frozen, but was once one fifth as hot as the sun s surface, and even earlier was full of
busily buzzing streets? . If you continue reading, you will know the answer and hear about how two
stories, The Dog of Pompeii and Pompeii: The City that Slept for 1,500 Years, have different or the
same symbols, theme, and conflict. I will talk about Symbolism first. Symbolism is the use of symbols
to signify ideas. The first symbol is in both stories, but means different things. Mount Vesuvius, or the
volcano closest to Pompeii, means horror and devastation in The Dog of Pompeii, as said Tito,
bewildered though he was, could recognize Rufus as he bellowed past him, like a water buffalo gone
mad. Time was lost in a nightmare. , but means peacefulness and quiet because Pompeii had been built
on the slope of Mount Vesuvius, an inactive volcano. says Pompeii: The City that Slept for 1,500
Years. Another symbol is the food. In Pompeii: The City that Slept for 1,500 Years food represents
history and culture, because it was two thousand years old and made differently, and in The Dog of
Pompeii, food meant survival. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The definition of theme is the subject of a talk, a piece of writing, a person s thoughts, or an
exhibition; a topic. As you can tell, theme is important, and so is surviving. In The Dog of Pompeii the
theme is survival because Tito has no parents or guardians to look after and provide for him and he is
blind. He was not only a dog, but also a nurse, pillow, playmate, mother, and father to Tito. is how
Bimbo helped. The theme for Pompeii: The City that Slept for 1,500 Years is discovery because it
explains how it was discovered, why it was discovered, and what was discovered in the city. Then, in

Break Down The Ionic Compounds
The first thing to note is that all of these compounds are ionic compounds as they consist of a metal
and a nonmetal. Therefore, they will follow the ionic naming system. They are also all type I as each
metal comes from either Group 1A, Group 2A, or the metal is Zn2+, Cd2+, Al3+, or Ag+. First, let s
break down the ionic compound into the ions that form it. NaF is composed of Na+ (sodium ion) and
F (fluoride). Once we ve done this we can simply put them together. The name of the metal cation
(without ion ) is sodium. The name of the nonmetal anion is fluoride. Therefore, the name of this
compound is sodium fluoride. MgCl2 is composed of Mg2+ and 2Cl−. The name of the metal cation

Sql Injection Paper
SQL Injection
Recently, Aim Higher College has seen several cases of sensitive information being stolen from a
student information system and posted on the Web. After reviewing Web server and database logs, you
believe that the source of the problem is a SQL injection vulnerability. The vulnerability appears to
exist in a Web application used by students to register for courses. SQL injection is a technique where
malicious users inject SQL commands into an SQL statement, via web page input. Injected SQL
commands can alter SQL statement and compromise the security of a web application. SQL injection
is one of the oldest, most prevalent and dangerous of web application vulnerability. I believe attackers
could steal information by following methods. Most web pages have users or given user id to login,

Some web developers use blacklist of words and characters, but some words like delete and
semicolons should be allowed in many types of input. I think the best way to prevent is combination
of protection. I would recommend to use SQL parameters. SQL parameters are values that are added
to an SQL query at execution time, in a controlled manner. I would use patches and updates in
exploited database and application as soon as possible. The firewall should be in place to help to filter
out malicious data. Adding new rules regarding SQL injections to firewall will help to detect and
patch. Also, use appropriate privileges and keep password hash and encrypted. Password should be
change regularly, which overlook most of the time. In addition, I would not display a lot information
about database architecture from error messages and use the Remote Only custom Errors mode, so
external hacker will not get any additional information. After all, SQL injection is most popular tool
for hackers to obtain and manipulate data, because it is easy to use. However, combination of the
protections can keep secure and monitor

The Treaty Of Versailles Was A Peace Treaty
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Austria. Hitler was a German politician and the leader of
the Nazi Party. Adolf Hitler was a decorated veteran from World War I. The Treaty of Versailles
directly affected the German people and Hitler. The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty set in place
at the end of World War I to end the war. One of the most crucial and contentious problems with this
treaty was it required that the country of Germany to disarm, take guilt and pay apologies to the other
countries.
The treaty of Versailles did not run well for Hitler and when he became chancellor in 1933. His Nazi
Party became the largest elected party in Germany. After becoming chancellor, Hitler worked to
rebuild their economy and wanted better living space for the people of Germany. He achieved better
living space by killing all Jews. In 1934 President Von Hindenburg of Germany died and Hitler took
power of the presidency. (www.ushmm.org) The Nazi Party also had summer camps spread across the
country and even the United States to help spread the Nazi word and their views. The summer camp
helped promote the new and rising Germany and the Nazi party. He put the unemployed to work in

Character Analysis Of Tally s Uglies
Beautifully Asleep; Hideously Awake As adolescents progress toward adulthood, a drastic reformation
of both mental affect and moral worldview is commonly experienced. Scott Westerfeld in his novel
Uglies illustrates this commonality of human experience through that of Tally Youngblood, his
societally divergent protagonist. The pivotal moments that signify her gradual, yet distinct moral
development are clearly defined in specific segments of text. Moreover, the actual structure of the
novel concretely separates the definitive changes in Tally s moral worldview. It is through these
phases that the Uglies protagonist s character develops from being a slave to society s imposed norms,
to a questioning skeptic, and finally to a self actualized individual with sound motives and personal
passions. In Pretty society, a clearly defined hierarchy exists between Littlies , Uglies , New Pretties ,
Middle Pretties , and Late Pretties . At age 16, each Ugly member of society undergoes an appearance
altering operation to become Pretty on the pretense of social homogeneity. Tally begins her story as a
stereotypically trouble making Ugly, who apart from tricks adheres to her society s laws and norms.
On one particular excursion a trick in which she infiltrates New Pretty Town Tally makes contact with
Peris, an adolescent love interest that turned Pretty before her. Their dynamic exemplifies Tally s
societally conditioned sense of inferiority, clearly represented by the

it is the way the snake wraps itself around you and tightens its grip until it kills you. Tropical areas are

dangerous to strike.
8. Cottonmouth
Also referred to as the water moccasin, the bite is more harmful and deadly than that of the
copperhead, but does not lead to death. That much, anyway. It is more aggressive than the copperhead,
but only bites when it is touched. More aggressive reputation and strikes a ready to bite pose. The
snake can get up to six feet long.
7. Common krait
Often considered India s most dangerous snake. The venom contains highly powerful neurotoxins
which cause the muscles to become paralyzed. It has two kinds of neurotoxins (postsynaptic and
presynaptic) that usually affect the nerve endings located close to the synaptic cleft of the brain.
6. Inland Taipan
This snake has the most venom, more than any other snake in the world. If left untreated, the death
rate from a bite from this snake is eighty percent. That being said, this snake does not usually bite, is

The Invisible Man Essay
The Invisible Man, by H.G. Wells, is composed of many small themes that combined to form two
major themes in the novel. Some of the minor themes are acting before thinking and denial of
unexplainable events. It is based on the two major themes of science experiments gone wrong and the
ignorance of society.
The most important theme in the novel was the experiment that Griffin, the invisible man, was
working and it was not going exactly as planned. The way that the experiment went bad was not by
accident; instead it was Griffin who had made the mistake of turning himself invisible. The reason that
the invisible man had for becoming invisible was that he was suspected as to be a vivesectionalist and

The people could see his footprints and see him if he became dirty. Another thing that Griffin did not
realize before his experiment back fired was that he could not eat if he wanted to stay invisible. The
people around him could see the food inside his stomach, until his body absorbed it.
The experiment that Griffin went through was his own fault and also sealed his own fate. The major
problem with his invisibility was that Griffin was not able to keep or have any friends. His only
contact was after he was all bandaged up and looked as though he had been in a bad accident. Without
any human contact or support Griffin was destined to become crazy. In the ending chapters of the
novel it is obvious that Griffin has lost his mind and is completely insane.
Not wanton killing, but a judicious slaying. The point is, they know there is an Invisible Man as well
as we know there is an Invisible Man. And that Invisible Man, Kemp, must now establish a Reign of
Terror. (Pg. 114)
The previous quote was taken as the invisible man was talking to Kemp about his plans of judicial
killing. This proves that Griffin has gone completely insane and it is his way of getting back at society
for excluding him. He does not realize that if he had never made himself invisible nothing like this
would be happening.

Economic Inequality In America
Economic inequality reigns as a massive divide in the United States of America. Many active policies
cause people to occupy an economic level which is meant to benefit those above them. With that said,
there have been many efforts taken in hopes of reducing the current levels of economic inequality, but
with these efforts, money and wealth will have to be taken from the rich to give to the poorer. This is
where the problem lies with wealth inequality many have to sacrifice for those whom they presume to
be unworthy of benefiting from their fortunes. Education, wealth, race, and power all play a role as to
why action will not be taken to reduce the current levels of inequality in America.
The rich see their money and how it will benefit them. In What the Rich Won t Tell You, Rachel
Sherman addresses the mentality of the rich. Some rich people feel the need to conceal their wealth
when it benefits them, and on the other hand, they will flaunt their wealth when it benefits them. For
instance, Sherman interviewed a financially well off, middle aged woman named Beatrice. Beatrice
stated that she was uncomfortable with the inequality between herself and her nanny, a Latina
immigrant. (Sherman) Although her wealth made her uncomfortable, and she would remove price tags
from her clothing and food, Beatrice was unwilling to suppress her lifestyle to lift the Latina nanny s
financial situation any higher. The wealthy simply described themselves as normal people who

Colonization Of North America
Prior to English colonization of North America, slavery in Europe was a common institution that
created a social class in the societies of various nations. When the colonization of the New World in
North America began, along with English settlers came the institution of slavery. In the dawn of
English colonization, the practice of indentured servitude was utilized to provide labor necessary to
produce crops in exchange for transportation to the New World, and a opportunity for new beginnings.
As trade in the Atlantic World progressed, slavery replaced indentured servitude in order for African
Chiefdoms to gain profit, and colonial farmers to gain free labor. As the method for obtaining labor for
producing cash crops transitioned from indentured servitude to slavery, specifically African chattel
slavery, slavery itself developed into a staple institution for colonial economies, and set up for tensions
between the small but influential population of slaveowners and African slaves that caused slavery to
become difficult to overcome in future years.
In the eyes of English political leaders, the colonization of the New World benefited the English
economy in ways of taxation, the mercantilism system, and new opportunities for goods to flourish in
English markets. The first established English colony of Jamestown displayed the difficulties of
colonization in foreign land, but the work of John Rolfe to develop and perfect the farming of tobacco
saved the colony. This new

The Kidnapping of Charles Lindbergh Jr.
What man is so cold hearted to murder a baby just to try to acquire some money? Charles Lindbergh

Charles Lindbergh. The murder of the child almost seemed to be an accident and that it was a slip up

From the start of the investigation investigators thought that the case would go cold because of the
lack of any information on who might be the kidnapper. Due to this lack of evidence and no possible
suspects at the start of the investigation it made the case have no real breakthroughs for the first two
months. This is until the evidence was evaluated more in depth, and new ransom notes were delivered
to the Lindbergh s.
The in depth analysis of the little evidence from the crime was able to lead the main suspect, Bruno
Hauptmann. From the first search of the nursery a ransom note demanding $50,000 was found on the
nursery window sill ( Lindbergh Kidnapping ). This ransom letter was found to have handwriting
similar to that of a German. After the case went cold for three days a second ransom note showed up,
this time the price was raised to $70000 ( Lindbergh baby kidnapped ). The Lindbergh s decided that
after the second ransom note, saying that their kid was still alive, they decided it was time to pay the
ransom money to save their child. They were able to negotiate with a man named John to pay the first
ransom of $50,000. This transaction went down in a cemetery close to the Lindbergh house, and gave
the mysterious man the nickname Cemetery John . This ransom money would later be used to find
Bruno Hauptmann, the real killer.

Human Exploitation Of Host Immune Responses By Parasites...
Abstract
The broadly defined parasites have evolved a survival mechanism, which is evading the host s
immunity and obtaining multiple methods for successfully eluding the host immunity. The tactics used
in this mechanism is complex promoting persistence and completion of the life cycle. This research
investigates the interaction between host immunity and parasite. Paul Ehrlich, a German physician and
scientist, about 100 years ago commenced the concept of immune evasion (Damian, 1997). The
concept of exploitation of host immune responses by parasites has been reinforced by new data on its
first known examples, especially the immune dependence of schistosoma egg excretion. The infection
caused by the parasite leads to a variety of outcomes that is the removal of parasite or the death of the
host. DAMIAN, R.T. (1997) Parasite immune evasion and exploitation: reflections and projections ,
Parasitology, 115(7), pp. 169 175.
Introduction
Most studies have shown that most species are of parasitic form interacting with the host s immune
system. Subsequently, the host arranges their immune system to avoid infections by the protozoa.
However, the host s immune system is not always maximally efficient. The fact that the parasite
interacts with the host s immune system illustrates that they have evolved to reach such a successful
counteraction against the host s immunity. This research aims to shed light on the mechanism of
parasitic evasion, which leads to parasitic

Gender Roles Essay
Gender Roles
Women and men have extremely different roles in society. These gender roles are very evident in the
way we see ourselves as women, which is based on how we have been treated in the past and the
actions in history we have taken toward gender equality. Katha Pollitt expresses her feminist view in
her work Why boys don t play with dolls.
Instead of looking at kids to prove that differences in behavior by sex are innate, we can look at the
ways we raise kids as an index to how unfinished the feminist revolution really is, and how tentatively
it is embraced even by adults who fully expect their daughters to enter previously male dominated
professions and their sons to change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scott Russell Sanders brings forth to his male point of view concerning the sensations of guilt and
shame over their persecution of women in The Men We Carry in Our Minds…and How They Differ
from the Real Lives of Most Men. He says to a friend of his This must be a hard time for women, they
have so many paths to choose from, and so many voices calling them. He also says growing up he
really envied women because they got to do things like; shop, visit neighbors, and run errands.
Sanders goes on to explain… I didn t see, then, what a prison a house could be…I did not realize,
because such things were never spoken of how women suffered from men s bullying.
Being a modern woman is definitely a double edged sword and has many complexities. Feminism has
taught us, that as women we are equal to men and we must demand and fight for that equality, while
the influence of gender roles makes us demand chivalry from men. We expect the same high paying
jobs as men; yet we demand that men do things like open doors for us. This could be viewed as the
result of many issues, but it all boils down to one simple concept: respect or actually lack of respect.
Throughout history we as women have been put into many roles the homemaker, the bad driver, the

The Clash Of Civilizations By Samuel Huntington Essay
Samuel Huntington s controversial article The Clash of Civilizations? was first published in Foreign
Affairs in 1993 and was subsequently turned into a book in 1996 titled The Clash of Civilizations and
the Remaking of World Order. As this paper will show Huntington s work can be seen as a product of
the post Cold War context it was written in. Huntington s article takes a new perspective on the new
world order and outlines a different way a thinking about how future world conflicts will unfold. Since
the initial journal article was published in 1993 there has been a great deal of response from academics
and also from Huntington himself. A majority of the responses come in the form of critiques, with the
authors offering their own insight into how the post Cold War World will operate. Although the
validity of Huntington s arguments have been questioned, it did create a great deal of controversy in
the academic world. As Huntington explained in the preface of his 1996 book, the original article
published in Foreign Affairs created more discussion in three years than any other article published in
the journal since the 1940s.
Huntington s initial article argued that in the post Cold War era the fundamental source of conflict
would not be ideological or economic, but cultural. He continues by arguing that nation states will
continue to be the most powerful actors in global affairs, but the conflicts of global politics that are to

The philosopher John Locke once said, [g]overnment has no other end, but the preservation of

idea affects everything we believe a modern state should represent for itself and its people. This way
of understanding the role of government was inspired by the writings of the Enlightenment era
philosophers. This way of understanding the role of the state and its people is significantly different
from what was believed in ancient Athens and Rome. The Enlightenment era philosophers did more
than just think of new ideas of government; their works not only inspired changes during the 18th
century, but also continued to shape modern governments. While it is true that certain forms of
democracy evolved in ancient Athens and Rome, modern governments differ significantly from these
ancient societies. In some cases, the very words put forth by the philosophers were written directly
into the constitutions of countries practicing these new ideas. Without the contributions of John Locke
and other enlightenment philosophers, democracy and government as we know it today would not
exist.
The shape of modern government in America and Europe today comes from many different ideas that
existed before the Enlightenment even began. Concepts in ancient Greece are

Essay On My Farm House
During some of my early farm boy life, I attended some wonderful churches in Edmonton and
Metcalfe County. The church nearest our farm home was the one room Good Hope Baptist Church,
which was located alongside the gravel surfaced Knob Lick Road about three miles from Edmonton.
As a youngster, my attendance was usually limited to those infrequent and short periods of time when
the church had a pastor and during occasional revival services. My Mom and I would walk together
from our tenant farm to the church attend the worship services as well as an occasional dinner on the
grounds. Dad did go to the church grounds on some occasions, but often remained outside the church
with a few other men during the church services. All of the men; ... Show more content on

He always remained seated in silence and looked straight ahead. I have often wondered if he ever
accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in later years.
Dinner on the grounds was an event usually held after morning church services. A very l o n g table
was set up in an L configuration. It was assembled with rough sawn planks laid on a series of saw
horses and covered with bed sheets used as tablecloths.
Each family brought one or more items of food, which varied from event to event, but would always
result in delicious meals consisting of some of the following: cornbread, biscuits, fried chicken, ham,
chicken and dumplings, several varieties of beans, potatoes prepared in a variety of ways, cabbage,
fried apples, radishes, corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, slaw, onions, squash, chocolate, apple, butterscotch
and rhubarb pie, chocolate cake, caramel cake with hickory nuts on its icing, blackberry cobbler, iced
tea, coffee, lemonade, Kool Aid, watermelon, muskmelon, and other goodies. Now you know why it
was a l o n g table.
Another childhood experience with a church involved a Presbyterian pastor who drove out into the
country and picked up myself and other youngsters, then drove us to his church in Edmonton. There
we were joined with youngsters who lived in town and we all participated in the church s youth
events. Afterward, the pastor would drive us back to our homes. Those were very enjoyable occasions,
but

Essay on A History of the World in 6 Glasses
A History of the World in 6 Glasses by Tom Standage is a non fiction historical novel, whose main
purpose is to show the surprisingly pervasive influence of certain drinks on the course of history. Then
it takes the reader on a journey through time to show the history of mankind through the lens of
beverages. The thesis of the novel is that through history certain specialty beverages have affected
more than just the diet of people and changed political aspects, economic standings, religious
ceremonies and social views throughout human history. Standage clearly favors the subject written
about and offers no information or analysis to disprove the thesis of the novel. Tom Standage is an
author of 3 other novels, which are also historic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coffee quickly became the drink of intellect and industry being known to sharpen the mind. Taverns
were replaced with a more sophisticated meeting place, the coffeehouse. These led to the
establishment of scientific societies and financial institutions, the founding of newspapers, and
provided fertile ground for revolutionary thought. [4] Once established as England s national drink,
tea imports from first China and India led to massive trade. The book describes the power of the
British East India Company, which generated more revenue than the British government and ruled
over far more people,
wielding more power than any other corporation in history. [5] This imbalance of power had an
enormous effect on British foreign policy, and led to the independence of the U.S. Like most of the
drinks discussed in this novel, Coca Cola was originally devised as a medical drink. More than any
other product, Coca Cola has stood as the symbol of America s vibrant consumer capitalism. [4]
Rather than shrink at the challenge, Coca Cola took full advantage of the challenging times it found
itself in, gaining ground through the depression, and then traveling alongside our soldiers into WWII,
becoming a global phenomenon. A History of the World in 6 Glasses is very useful and beneficial to
the AP World History curriculum. In a teaching course, the teacher could assign a chapter of reading

Introduction
It is crucial to analyse the financial statement of an organization to evaluate the overall performance of
an organization so that the stakeholders have a clear idea of what they are investing in. Two significant
methods of assessing an organization for analysis are evaluating its financial performance and
evaluating the environment the entity operates in. Studying the environment the business operates in
helps us understand the financial performance of the business in more depth and make sense of the
results. The business environment and the financial performance are interlinked to each other and
effect each other. There are two groups of users of the financial statements, internal and external
stakeholders. Internal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. Definition Essay-Money Happy Rough Draft Money Happy Rough Draft There will never be a moment where you are happy if you are alone with nothing else but money. Having money will not be the reason you are happy in life. The way to be actually happy in life is to have the things money can t buy like being with your loved ones , something else money does is consume a person in a negative way . In a point of your life you realize that money cannot buy everything, and you start regretting most of your actions. For example, My oldest cousin, yvonne, didn t not listen to her mother and spent her whole inheritance in about two years. She decided to leave my aunt s house and move away from home. The unholy essence that any vampire story provides sets the stage for the message that the Church is the way of life and will save you from creatures of evil. The common religious theme is the abscess of light is the absence of holiness and is the path to eternal damnation. Vampire protection is the Church s way of creating fear that will ultimately lead to the fearful turning back to the Church for protection and guidance. With the turn of sexual culture in the Victorian Era, Church leaders needed to establish a way to regain a tight grip on society as a whole. The speaker explains more negative examples throughout the poem rather than positive. For instance, she explain happiness as, It comes to the monk in his cell (line 20). This quote makes people question the thoughts the speaker because monks are a member of a religious community of men typically living under vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. The Original Riot Grrrls By Elizabeth Cady Stanton The Original Riot Grrrls The 19th Amendment guarantees a vote for women in the United States of America, but how did this constitutional change happen? Many females prior to this accomplishment faced struggles from external forces that denied their rights and capabilities. Feminism and equal rights were and still are prominent in American society. In order to provide women of the future what is rightfully theirs, women during the 1700s have taken control of their opinions and used their strong will to make the necessary changes in American society. During the Seneca Falls Convention, Elizabeth Cady Stanton exclaimed in her address, The right is ours. The question now is: how shall we get possession of what rightfully belongs to us, (Stanton). The leaders, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott of the Seneca Falls Convention, along with other female leaders, displayed civil disobedience, provided powerful lectures, and organized conventions that gave a new perspective on gender equality. Integrative Approaches Of Psychology And Christianity In his book, Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity, David Entwistle (2010) provides a persuasive discourse for the assimilation of psychology and theology; secular and religious disciplines that present a multifaceted dialogue shaped by historical interactions and tensions. (p. 51) Of the two systems, psychology is by much of the Church thought to advocate reason over revelation whereas theology is, by more secular leaning scholars, thought to be wanting of intellect. With Tertullian s libretti, what indeed has Athens to do with Jerusalem? (p. 8) in addition to modernism s philosophy of self consciousness and the skepticism of postmodernism continuing to fan the flames of segregation, the flawed logic that an integration of psychology and theology is not possible ensues. Throughout his book, David Entwistle (2010) recurrently echoes the theme that all truth is God s truth. (p. 16) Entwistle further claims that a person can discern truth from both of God s books (i.e., His Word and His Works). Entwistle affirms that because God has systematically ordered both His Word and His Works in such a way that makes integration possible, both psychology and theology are correct in their interpretations. Nevertheless, religion and psychology are systems of finite understanding and presuppositions. Therefore, while the certainty that all truth comes from God does not excuse error from either discipline it does allow for integration since both seek to bare ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Does Pecola Affect Society Toni Morrison s novel The Bluest Eyes is about a young adolescent girl named Pecola who made no attempt to fight back against those who mocked her or damaged her body and mentality. Pecola s peculiarness caused the people around her to become aware of her difference, which made them hate her for the ugliness that reflected in themselves. My opinion of this novel is that Morrison inserted a society where they used Pecola as a punching bag, and a scapegoat to illuminate the superficialness of perceived beauty in the novel. I think Morrison was trying to highlight how beauty and love can go hand in hand; but the two factors can be destructive as well if one has neither of them. If someone is beautiful, then they will be loved more than a less beautiful person Pecola is considered ugly and she wants to look like talented and beautiful Shirley Temple who is an idol among society. Pecola s life was also lacking love as it did beauty her household had no time for affection, and her parents were bitter and engrossed in their own reality. Board of Education of Topeka, 347 U.S. 483 (1954), was a landmark United States Supreme Court case in which the Court declared state laws establishing separate public schools for black and white students to be unconstitutional. The decision overturned the Plessy v. Ferguson decision of 1896, which allowed state sponsored segregation, insofar as it applied to public education. Handed down on May 17, 1954, the Warren Court s unanimous (9 0) decision stated that separate educational facilities are inherently unequal. As a result, de jure racial segregation was ruled a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. This ruling paved the way for integration and was a major victory of the Civil Rights Movement.[1] However, the decision s fourteen pages did not spell out any sort of method for ending racial segregation in schools, and the Court s second decision in Brown II only ordered states to desegregate with all deliberate speed . Symbolically, killing with the switchblade represents for cutting away the troubles that get in the way. Sling Blade was a subjective film. • 19. The Instrumentalist Theory Of Ethnic Conflict In Aceh For instrumentalists, resource, especial the scarce resource, always being an important factor of ethnic conflicts. Lake and Rothchild stand on the strand of rational choice, they assume that scarce resources related to the collective fear of the future, and politics are means for groups to control the access to scarce resources. For instrumentalists, ethnic identity is not valuable in and of itself, it is basically a mask for a core of real interests (Varshney 2009, 288). The case of conflicts in Aceh approave this assertion that competition for resources typically lies at the heart of ethnic conflict. Therefore, this short answer will be two fold: first, a critical understanding of instrumantalism will be provided in order to illustrate why resources are important? Second, a case of Aceh will be explained along with the instrumentalism. In the article Containing Fear: The Origins and Management of Ethnic Conflict, Lake and Rothchild sited that the intense ethnic conflict is most often caused by collective fear of the future (Lake and Rothchild 1996, 41). Their explanatory framework is rational choice oriented which based on the instrumentalist theory of ethnic conflict. If you continue reading, you will know the answer and hear about how two stories, The Dog of Pompeii and Pompeii: The City that Slept for 1,500 Years, have different or the same symbols, theme, and conflict. I will talk about Symbolism first. Symbolism is the use of symbols to signify ideas. The first symbol is in both stories, but means different things. Mount Vesuvius, or the volcano closest to Pompeii, means horror and devastation in The Dog of Pompeii, as said Tito, bewildered though he was, could recognize Rufus as he bellowed past him, like a water buffalo gone mad. Time was lost in a nightmare. , but means peacefulness and quiet because Pompeii had been built on the slope of Mount Vesuvius, an inactive volcano. says Pompeii: The City that Slept for 1,500 Years. Another symbol is the food. In Pompeii: The City that Slept for 1,500 Years food represents history and culture, because it was two thousand years old and made differently, and in The Dog of Pompeii, food meant survival. ... Character Analysis Of Tally s Uglies Beautifully Asleep; Hideously Awake As adolescents progress toward adulthood, a drastic reformation of both mental affect and moral worldview is commonly experienced. Scott Westerfeld in his novel Uglies illustrates this commonality of human experience through that of Tally Youngblood, his societally divergent protagonist. The pivotal moments that signify her gradual, yet distinct moral development are clearly defined in specific segments of text. Moreover, the actual structure of the novel concretely separates the definitive changes in Tally s moral worldview. It is through these phases that the Uglies protagonist s character develops from being a slave to society s imposed norms, to a questioning skeptic, and finally to a self actualized individual with sound motives and personal passions. The most important theme in the novel was the experiment that Griffin, the invisible man, was working and it was not going exactly as planned. The major problem with his invisibility was that Griffin was not able to keep or have any friends. His only contact was after he was all bandaged up and looked as though he had been in a bad accident. Without any human contact or support Griffin was destined to become crazy. In the ending chapters of the novel it is obvious that Griffin has lost his mind and is completely insane. Not wanton killing, but a judicious slaying. Many active policies cause people to occupy an economic level which is meant to benefit those above them. With that said, there have been many efforts taken in hopes of reducing the current levels of economic inequality, but with these efforts, money and wealth will have to be taken from the rich to give to the poorer. This is where the problem lies with wealth inequality many have to sacrifice for those whom they presume to be unworthy of benefiting from their fortunes. When the colonization of the New World in North America began, along with English settlers came the institution of slavery. In the dawn of English colonization, the practice of indentured servitude was utilized to provide labor necessary to produce crops in exchange for transportation to the New World, and a opportunity for new beginnings. As trade in the Atlantic World progressed, slavery replaced indentured servitude in order for African Chiefdoms to gain profit, and colonial farmers to gain free labor. As the method for obtaining labor for producing cash crops transitioned from indentured servitude to slavery, specifically African chattel slavery, slavery itself developed into a staple institution for colonial economies, and set up for tensions between the small but influential population of slaveowners and African slaves that caused slavery to become difficult to overcome in future years. In the eyes of English political leaders, the colonization of the New World benefited the English economy in ways of taxation, the mercantilism system, and new opportunities for goods to flourish in English markets. Abstract The broadly defined parasites have evolved a survival mechanism, which is evading the host s immunity and obtaining multiple methods for successfully eluding the host immunity. The tactics used in this mechanism is complex promoting persistence and completion of the life cycle. This research investigates the interaction between host immunity and parasite. Paul Ehrlich, a German physician and scientist, about 100 years ago commenced the concept of immune evasion (Damian, 1997). The concept of exploitation of host immune responses by parasites has been reinforced by new data on its first known examples, especially the immune dependence of schistosoma egg excretion. The infection caused by the parasite leads to a variety of outcomes that is the removal of parasite or the death of the host. DAMIAN, R.T. Introduction Most studies have shown that most species are of parasitic form interacting with the host s immune system. Subsequently, the host arranges their immune system to avoid infections by the protozoa. However, the host s immune system is not always maximally efficient. Mrs. Orens/Mr. Reiss April 1, 2016 The Impact of the Enlightenment on Modern Political Thought The philosopher John Locke once said, [g]overnment has no other end, but the preservation of property ( John Locke ). The social contract is the fundamental basis for modern government. This idea affects everything we believe a modern state should represent for itself and its people. This way of understanding the role of government was inspired by the writings of the Enlightenment era philosophers. This way of understanding the role of the state and its people is significantly different from what was believed in ancient Athens and Rome. The Enlightenment era philosophers did more than just think of new ideas of government; their works not only inspired changes during the 18th century, but also continued to shape modern governments. While it is true that certain forms of democracy evolved in ancient Athens and Rome, modern governments differ significantly from these ancient societies. In some cases, the very words put forth by the philosophers were written directly into the constitutions of countries practicing these new ideas. Without the contributions of John Locke and other enlightenment philosophers, democracy and government as we know it today would not exist. The shape of modern government in America and Europe today comes from many different ideas that existed before the Enlightenment even began. Concepts in ancient Greece are ...
