Case Summary. Wayne Bertram Williams: Accused Child Murderer. Between 1979 and 1981, Wayne
Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, was accused of the murder of over 20 children but was convicted of the
murder of two adults. The victim had officers that were an identical match to the fibers in Williams
home and his vehicle. The case was called the Atlanta Child Murders, in which Williams was arrested.
Williams was believed to be responsible for the murder involving two adults because of the evidence,
but not any of the children. The evidence also proves that Williams is the culprit behind the children

On the 21st of June, 1981, Wayne Williams was taken into custody, on the 27th of February, 1982, The
court found Williams guilty of the murders of both Cater along with another man, 21 year old, Jimmy
Ray Payne. Matching fibers, which was enough physical evidence, to convict Williams of double
murder. Williams had an alibi that had a weak story, plus the failure of multiple polygraph tests.
Investigators believed that Williams was connected with the child murders based on DNA sequencing
with hairs from the bodies of the victims which matched hair from Williams at a .98 percent
surety(Bio, 2017). The 2 percent of doubt was sufficient enough in the ceasing of any further
convictions. Thirty years later, just to test the consistency of DNA, during the trial, the Royal
Canadian Mounted Police and the FBI, because there were some dog hairs located on the bodies of

the company argued that it would jeopardize the privacy of their customers and is an overreach of
state power. Thus, the conflict was going to be decided legally, until the FBI canceled the first court
hearing with Apple. The FBI was able to unlock Farook s phone without Apple s help through a third
