Romeo And Juliet Movie Vs Play
I think Luhrmann did a better job at capturing the story in a decade where we could better understand
what was happening. He did an outstanding job at emphasizing the dialogue. There were many
differences between Luhrmann s version and Zeffirelli s version. I believe that Zeffirelli did a more
refined job at creating a performance which closely relates to the story. Overall, I would have to say
that Luhrmann did an excellent job at his version, which barely outshines Zeffirelli. In Luhrmann s
1996 version of Romeo + Juliet, we could pick out the differences between the performance and the
story, and it was easier to understand what was happening. You could tell who was who, and the actors
did an excellent job at playing their parts, making

A Report On The Customs System Of India
Registration
For our team project, we will be exporting LED light bulbs from India. This country has initiated an
Indians Customs EDI System to facilitate trade and to exchange documents electronically. Vijay
Anand, customs manager for India with Expediters International describes the export processes to be
very simple, If all the documentation are perfect, you can even clear customs on an export within three
to four hours subject to the documentation (new.export.gov) First, it is mandatory for an exporter to
register their business with the Directorate General Foreign Trade (DGFT) or regional import export
licensing authority. An Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is also mandatory, it is a 10 digit code which is
issued by DGFT. (portology.com) The IEC code serves as an export license, a customs copy of this
document needs to presented to the customs authority for clearing the goods and to prevent penalties
and/or possible confiscation of the good (indolegal.com).Along with the IEC, Anand labels the
Authorized Dealer (AD) code as a basic requirement for exporting from India, Every exporter who s
involved in a foreign transaction should have a bank account, and this account should be informed to
Indian customs and through the Bank of India, which is a federal bank , an AD code is allotted to each
bank (new.export.gov). Moreover, a Business Identification Number (BIN) is required to file a
shipping bill for clearance of exports. Further documents that may be necessary in the

Section V And V Of The Corrections Textbook By Stohr Et Al
Julie Ikpah Research Analysis Paper #2 February 17, 2015
Introduction:
For this research and analysis paper we were assigned Section V and VI in the Corrections textbook
by Stohr et al. Section V (five) covers probation and community corrections with pertinent and
important concepts as well as many legal definitions. Section VI (six) covers prisons and the
experiences that an inmate endures while serving their sentences, sentences that were levied against
them for the crime they committed. These two sections read together is very informative and it helps
to keep the reader focused on the big picture of sentences and what options are out there.
Summary and Analysis:
The introduction for Section V is an overall summation of other ... Show more content on

Community corrections refers to the probation officers, and other governmental representatives
working on the behalf of the State, to assist offenders with this last chance. A dual reason that these
representatives are engaged in the work they do, is to monitor the behaviors of the convicted persons
within the previously mentioned community in which they reside.
Another interesting elaboration from the authors was the expansion on the overall cost of probation vs.
prison. I found this section extremely interesting and enlightening. I certainly experienced somewhat
of a paradigm shift when integrating these new financial implications that the government is burdened
by vs. my own personal feelings of probation and its tendency to be soft on crime. If, by increasing the
success of probation, then much more money can theoretically be returned to the taxpayers, and
thereby having an overall positive result.
The explanation of the roles of probation and parole officers were also informative to me as a reader.
The reason I found it informative was because I had never thought of the probation officers job duties
and roles are quite as varied as they actually are. Sometimes they act as dual roles, meaning parole and
probation officer but this is not the case in all jurisdictions. Probation officers job duties are varied and
demanding upon the person who dares to take on

Executive Summary of Chiba
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The case on Chiba International Inc. deals with the challenges faced by a
Japanese company¶s manufacturing plant set up in rural Georgia to adapt the philosophy of the
company to its American workforce and culture. Ken Morikawa, the general manager for
administration and John Sinclair, the American personnel head of the company are determined to find
out how Chiba International, another Japanese company based in California, has successfully
translated its corporate philosophy into action that has led to considerably good profits for the
company. Ken, having had extensive experience in the field of personnel management is perplexed

is in sharp contrast with the Japanese collectivist nature of working in a group for the company as a
whole. The individualistic nature of the Americans also leads to power conflicts among themselves.
This is because, when additional responsibilities are given to them, they view it as an extension of
their individual sovereignties (because of their thirst for personal achievements and accomplishments)
and this leads to power conflicts in the case of overlapping sovereign areas. The Japanese being
extremely high on the dimension of ³masculinity´, the job culture is often in contradiction to the
American workers who lay equal emphasis to personal life as to professional, and their work life
balance is imbalanced. The excessive importance given to dedication and devotion to work can create
work stress for the Americans who put ³personal and family happiness first´. This is also evident in
their recruitment philosophy: It is the ability, performance and attitude of an individual which is
measured in an interview, rather than assigning a pseudo ± status to one owing to the prestige of his
degree. This often leads to a communication gap between the Japanese and the Americans, which is
literally evident in the meetings and discussions which happen at late hours when the Americans have
retired for the day, among the Japanese in their language. Needless to say, this created apprehension in
the minds of the Americans but the management tries to rectify the issue by

The Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire
PART 1 TEST REVIEW: TEST/INSTRUMENT: The Developmental Coordination Disorder
Questionnaire 2007 (DCDQ 07) AUTHORS: BN Wilson, BJ Kaplan, SG Crawford, and G Roberts
YEAR OF PUBLICATION: 2007 (original was published in 1999) PUBLISHER: Alberta Children s
Hospital Decision Support Research Team TYPE OF TEST: 1. The Developmental Coordination
Disorder Questionnaire 07 is administered to individuals from a child s parent. 2. The DCDQ 07 is not
in itself norm standardized, but the test does ask parents to think of other children the child s age when
filling out the test. It is strongly recommended to refer to a test that is norm referenced in order to
determine if there is a developmental problem that should be addressed further. The DCDQ 07 is
designed in a way that may over estimate coordination problems in order to not risk missing any
children. The DCDQ is essentially used as a pre screening tool in order to indicate if a child should be
assessed more. 3. The DCDQ 07 is criterion referenced. It asks for information to identify the
possibility of the presence of criterion B of Developmental Coordination Disorder in the DSM.
PURPOSE OF TEST: The purpose of the DCDQ 07 is for parents to assess children from 5 15 on their
motor control and abilities to check for the possibility of Developmental Coordination Disorder.
SUGGESTED USE: The DCDQ 07 is not meant to be used to diagnose Developmental Coordination

The Ottawa Charter
The Ottawa Charter is an international agreement developed by the World Health Organisation in
1986, it aims to achieve health for all by the year 2000 and many years in the future. To achieve health
for all the Ottawa Charter had to establish five action areas which promote health. One of the five
action areas of the Ottawa Charter is the development of personal skills. Developing personal skills
are essential when aiding an individual with their mental health issues, as they need the ability to
comprehend the seriousness and problems associated with poor mental health. Education is a major
factor contributing to the development of personal skill, as it teaches individual s literacy skills which

The Bias Of Law Enforcement Officers
The implicit bias of law enforcement officers to perceive White Americans as innocent, and non White
Americans as criminals, has lead law enforcement officers to profile non White Americans. This is an
example of white privilege because white offenders are virtually immune to being suspected of drug
use. And because law enforcement officers do not suspect white people of drug use in proportion to
the number of them that actually use drugs, they do not arrest white drug users accordingly. Moreover,
court officials do not charge white offenders proportionately. Thus, disproportion in incarceration rates
is a form of racial inequity. If white people used their privilege to advocate for non white people we
could eliminate this racial inequity. But first, we must take steps to educate white children on white
privilege. Only then can white children use their privilege to advocate for non white people. How
then, specifically, does educating white children on white privilege work?
Educating white children on white privilege is not as straightforward as it may seem. One study in the
Journal of Experimental Social Psychology suggests that when presented with evidence of white
privilege, white people actually respond with denial on the basis of personal hardships (Phillips,
Lowry 12 18). The study also stated that understanding privilege, requires a comparison to someone of
another group membership with the same life circumstances (Phillips, Lowry 12 18). If white children

Neighborly Relations Has Decline In The United States...
According to the Chicago Tribune, Neighborly relations have declined in the U.S. since the 1950s.
Some 28 percent of us know none of our neighbors names, particularly pervasive among younger and
lower income people, (Mildenstein). Why is it that our society has become less neighborly? In our
society today, people are caught up in themselves and do not like to connect personally or physically
with their neighbors. Because of this, they do not take the time out of their day to meet or socialize
with their neighbors. Since the 1950s, our societies values and morals have changed dramatically. We
now have the whole world at our fingertips, and feel like we do not need the physical presence of
people in our lives. Consequently, good neighbors have become extremely hard to come by. However,
when ones neighbor is cordial, cooperative, and gracious, ones everyday life can become a bit easier.

Crisis Leaders
Introduction to the topic The reading this week consisted of the first two chapters of Resilient Leaders
by Robert F. Dees. Everything rises and falls with Leadership. According to Dees (2013), leadership is
a contact sport and excellent leadership inspires one to pursue personal resilience, and promote
resilience in others and in organizations. It is imperative for leaders to navigate the body slams of life
and bounce back, ideally even higher than before. According to Gini Green (2014), leadership is more
than facts or theories; it is a lived process where problems, circumstances, specific issues, and the
particular individuals involved shape the outcomes and play a critical role in the success or failure for
the leader.
Three Concepts. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There a vast number descriptions and definitions of character. There is no one definition of leadership
and the equation is never fixed or set. The determining factor in leadership is one s character and
becoming a leader is no different than becoming a fully integrated human being (Gini Green, 2014).
According to Dees (2013), selfless service, integrity, and courage are the high core values of character.
During the past decade several corporate leaders have been exposed in unethical business activity.
Leaders can have possesses all the knowledge and core competencies; however in the absence of high
moral character the talent topples (Dees, 2013). Adolf Hitler is an extreme case of a leader that
possessed outstanding leader competencies, but clearly lacked character (Dees, 2013). Character and
competency are important traits for effective leadership. Leaders need to put on the armor of God and
avoid getting caught up in toxic behaviors of bitterness, frustration, and anger (Dees, 2014) . As crisis
leadership is critical to a leader, one s response to the crisis will define their character. Regardless of
the situation, being a leader and person of character is an ongoing activity not a situational or episodic
experience (Gini Green,

Flop Analysis
Isolating limpers out of position can be a tricky proposition. Unless we have a big pair, small isos are
typically not as attractive since we will be out of position throughout the hand, if called. A solution to
this problem is something I call the third go. You may remember me covering this in Automatic Poker,
Volume 1. The entire play was created to exploit players who limp a wide range and then often play fit
or fold on the flop. It is a great way to lure bad players into making hugely unprofitable pre flop calls.
The way it works is that when it is our turn to act in the blinds and there are one or more limpers, we
simply bet about one third of our stack with the intention of shoving all in on any flop. As covered in
detail in Professional No Limit Hold em, once you invest one third of your stack into any pot, it is
always a mistake to fold. It does not matter if it is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When fold equity is high, it is more profitable to third and go the stronger parts of your range and
shove the weaker ones. This concept applies to both shoving over limpers and to 3 betting, which will
be covered in chapter x. If you think about it, the idea makes perfect sense. In low fold equity
environments, when holding a weaker hand, you obviously want to elicit a fold more often, so giving
yourself two chances to win makes more sense. Weak players may call a similar range vs a shove that
they will vs a third and go, and if called after thirding, you can shove the flop profitably since your
opponent will miss more often than not and not be likely to call the shove. Take this example, played
versus a very loose player: Shoving our entire stack in with a strong hand versus our loose opponent

Explain The Five Sources Of Law
WEEK 11: Discussion board
As mentioned in the text Law is a body of rules established by government officials that bind
government, individuals, and nongovernment organization. These rules were established to maintain
stability and justice. The five sources of law are common law, constitutional law, legislation, executive
orders and administrative law. Common law is judge made and is grounded in tradition and previous
judicial decisions, instead of in written laws. It was a tradition beginning in England as the United
States had former ties to England, they were influenced by it. Constitutional law is the body of law
that comes out of the courts in cases involving the interpretation of the constitution. The highest court
is the Supreme Court.

Modern System Of Public Health Services
The concept of the public, health was once compromising as the only governmental public health
agencies. However, modern system of technology and education has brought into today s green light
that, the public health sector, such as Medicaid, schools as well the environmental protection agencies,
plus that of the private sector organizations must be included in the concept. This is because they are
believed to have a very significant role to play in the health of the public. The services of public health
mainly have four components and they include mission, structure, process and outcomes. However,
the services of the concepts entail a lot, and ten of which happens to be the most essential of it all will
be discussed below.
Public health services develop policies and plans that support the efforts of the community as well as
the health of the individual (hhs.gov). And this practice or services include successful, emergency
response and state improvement that comes with community planning, alignment of resources, which
assures a successful planning versus policy development that protects and guide the health of the
public.
Secondly, studies show that, the system link the people in the community to the needed personal
health services they need and assures them of the available provision of care and even when otherwise
unavailable according to the centers for disease control and prevention (03/2014). This also means it
will identify the number of people with barriers to care

Leon Trotsky was born in Yanovka, Ukraine on November, 7, 1879. He s birth name was not Leon
Trotsky it was Lev Davidovich Bronshtein, the name his parents gave him but then he changed his

months after he turned eighteen help put work into helping the South Russian Workers Union, he was
soon arrested within the first year of work. He then spent two more years in jail awaiting conviction

Trotsky had a great military record and administration, so to most in the Communist Party it became
obvious he was the one that needed to succeed Lenin, but he was offensive to the Politburo. A group
of Politburo member opposed Trotsky and sided with Joseph Stalin to overtake Trotsky. Lenin
appointed Stalin to the non admirable post of Central Committee General Secretary. Although this was
not a very high ranking post it still gave Stalin complete control over party member appointments.
Stalin grew his army very fast and built up his power with the same speed, then he started to lining up
allies against Trotsky. Lenin had no chosen a side or person to take over after he passed, but then he
had his third stroke and he passed away. Still undecided on who was going to take Lenin s place,
Stalin got to work on getting rid of Trotsky for good. Trotsky s power dwindled away with the help of
Stalin and his allies. Soon Trotsky was removed from the Central Committee and following his
expulsion he was exiled to the most remote place Stalin could find, Alma Ata. Stalin did not think that
banishing Stalin to Alma Ata was quite enough, he then eternally banished Stalin from the Soviet
Union. For the next decade Trotsky floated around with where he lived in three countries before he

The Lotos-Eaters by Tennyson
I. Introduction For many years, Tennyson has attracted readers by what Edmond Gosse called
the beauty of the atmosphere which Tennyson contrives to cast around his work, molding it in the blue
mystery of twilight, in the opaline haze of sunset. He is one of the greatest representative figures of
the Victorian Age. His writing incorporates many poetic styles and includes some of the finest idyllic
poetry in the language. He is one of the few poets to have produced acknowledged masterpieces in so
many different poetic genres; he implemented perhaps the most distinguished and versatile of all the
written works in the
English language. The first time I read The Lotus Eaters 1, I have to admit that I had a hearty dislike

C. Symbolism I wonder about the symbolism of Odysseus enc ounter with the
Lotos Eaters. After so many years of battle, after so much grief and trauma that Odysseus and his men
spent, they need to escape into a dreamlike world in which they may begin their healing.
Psychologically, the deeper the pain one has experienced, the more often one is drawn to experiences
of ecstasy in order to counter it. On a a deeper level, the Lotophagi experience appears to be an
antecedent of the adventures that follow with the Cyclops, Circe,
Calypso, and the Sirens4. There are a lot of images in the poem. There is also a brief hint of
foreshadowing; In which[the island of the Lotos Eaters] it always seemèd afternoon , meaning that
when you are in a state of happiness, everything seems the same. That only when you are drugged is

Introduction This project was performed as a semester project during my Bachelors of Electronics and
Communications Engineering at VISVESVARAYA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY,
BANGALORE, INDIA. I performed this project with two other group mates, however, I was the
project lead as it was originally my idea and my fellows agreed I was fit to take charge. We did indeed

disciplines. Their help was very valuable and I thank them for their cooperation. CE 3.2: Background
CE 3.2.1 The theme of the project was to bring forth an idea which could prove to be helpful in today

solution for people who are physically impaired and could use my invention to complete day to day
tasks more seamlessly. I was very enthusiastic about my idea and thankfully our course instructor was
too and gave us a go ahead on the project. However we were at first more inclined towards developing
a robotics related project and a vacuum cleaning automaton such as the famous Roomba® but another
group had already taken this idea a few step further so we dropped our initiative out of professional
and friendly courtesy. CE 3.2.2 Electronic gadgets such as smartphones, PDAs, computers and laptops

The Necessity Of Piercing The Corporate Veil
It was Lord Sumption in Prest v Petrodel Resources who recognised that there is a limited power to
pierce the corporate veil exceptional cases when it is deemed necessary to do so. This serves as
acknowledgement it is still possible to pierce the corporate veil but only as an absolute last resort. The
aim of this essay is to argue that the above statement is true to a certain extent regarding the necessity
of piercing the corporate veil and that perhaps, the way to achieve a more practical and fairer outcome

Allowing some room for the judges to exercise this greater flexibility may cause a slight confusion in
the beginning but over time, it is likely that judges themselves would have developed a set of
principles to apply when determining if it is necessary to pierce the corporate veil. In the long run, it is
submitted that this would produce a fairer outcome for the parties involved as judges would be able to
apply the principles developed to individual cases before making a decision.
Due to the separate legal personality of companies, a company can own shares in other companies.
This leads to the formation of corporate groups which can be made up of over 100 companies and are
often owned by a single parent company . The corporate veil was introduced to protect shareholders in
order to encourage entrepreneurial risk taking and innovation . Limited liability was introduced at a
time where corporate groups were unknown of . Nonetheless, courts have automatically applied the
doctrine of limited liability to corporate groups in order to shield parent companies from the debts of
their subsidiaries without even considering if it is necessary to do so . Furthermore, in consideration of
all the economic wealth and power that corporate groups have, they can barely be considered as the
entrepreneurial upstarts that the limited liability doctrine aimed to protect. Shareholders in such
groups can also use limited liability to avoid responsibility and manipulate the amount of

African American Influence On Tanzania
On 1918, The UN Trusteeship granted the mandate to England to administer Tanganyika and Zanzibar.
They intended to support Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar to recover from post war until they would
govern in their own. Britain added subsidy on the German education system, while enforcing
agriculture, and settlement policies. In the contrary, the colonial regime denied the export of
manufactured goods from Tanganyika, and controlled products for their own benefit. They hired a few
Tanzanians who labored for them (Lonely Planet State University). Inspecting the struggles of his
fellow African, Nyerere created the African Association (AA) while studying in Makerere in 1943

Hence, Ujamaa responded to a long history of development and underdevelopment from the capitalist
exploitation (Frank ,1975; Shule, 2010). His mission for rebuilding a liberated Tanzania was to

vividly expressed in one of his famous speeches during the Arusha declaration Shule (2010) citing

We have been oppressed a great deal, we have been exploited a great deal and we have been

Moon Landings Essay I think the moon landing was real because evidence that I have found makes
me believe that it was real . One thing that makes me believe it was real is that the U.S was in a race
with another country of who would make it to the moon first and Why? would the fake going to the
moon because I know as a competitive person I wouldn t want to lose and I wouldn t fake it because I
would embarrass myself and look dumb and also embarrass my entire country . My opinion is I think

Syo Diagnosis Research Paper
Most diagnosis methods now have been pretty much focused on reducing what the client is feeling
and would usually not be able to get to the primary problem. Basically it is like stopping a tap leak by
just putting higher walls to keep the water in and letting the water to flow out from the hole in the
pipes. This thing will eventually become a bigger problem than before. What is Syo diagnosis? What
is the basic principle of Syo diagnosis? Syo diagnosis as the name implies is a method of diagnosis
and unlike modern medicine which classifies the problem with the symptoms. The diagnosis is
achieved through dynamic interaction with the client. The diagnosis is derived from intuitive
integrated observation of the person s whole situation as a person.

Common Causes Of Pedestrian
Parking lots are full of danger for a variety of reasons. They are areas shared by distracted drivers and
distracted pedestrians. They are often poorly designed and infrequently patrolled by law enforcement.
Cars may drive in random directions while ignoring signs and pavement markings. Poor maintenance
by the owner increases car/pedestrian accidents and is a direct cause of pedestrian injuries.
If you were injured in a parking lot because of driver recklessness or negligence, or because of poor
parking lot design or maintenance, seek the legal advice of a New Jersey personal injury lawyer.

Persuasive Essay On Syrian War
Syria, like many other middle eastern countries is a country of strong culture, history, and beauty.
Unfortunately the corruption within their government has left innocent people no other choice but to
flee due to the complete lack of regard for human life. Innocent people of Syria are forced out of their
country due to attacks from every imaginable angle. The Syrian Government, ISIS, and the Syrian
Democratic Forces are mainly responsible for these attacks; therefore, the citizens of Syria are left
with no other option but to leave in hopes of achieving a safer life. For once was a land of cherished
history is now a war zone due to these circumstances. Canada has welcomed innocent citizens of Syria

because it influenced them to join the war and work out of the house. Until World War Two women
were thought to only be helpful in the house however once they were desperate during the war, they
found out women were able to do the same jobs as men (Mathis). Propaganda was shown in magazine
articles, advertisements, radio programs, and posters of women working; it changed the view of the
public on how women should be working (Mathis). A famous saying The More Women at Work The

Stereotypes Of Optimism
Optimism. What is it really? Many people misjudge what it really means to be optimistic. As someone
who likes to think of themselves as an optimistic person, I understand how you could be stereotyped.
Someone who is optimistic doesn t necessarily fall under the guidelines, stereotyped by society. The
first thing that comes to most people s minds when they think of someone being optimistic might be,
unrealistic, cheesy, or sounds like a guidance counselor . But being optimistic doesn t mean you are
unrealistic, simply hopeful. I m not talking Snow and Charming from Once Upon a Time, it is not
humanly possible to be that hopeful. Hopefulness comes with the territory when one is optimistic. If

A Brief Note On Legislation And Poor Oversight
Cause: deregulatory legislation and poor oversight Since 2001, the Federal Reserve System chose
easily monetary policy and reduced loan level again. As a result that America began to decrease
interest in the two half years. FRS totally reduced interests in 13 times. It allowed financial institution
to borrow money for unlimited times. And then, it leaded to increase American money supplement in
unusual. The liquidity of market enhance in rush. In this situation, the financial market stimulated
consumers costs appetite and brought investors enthusiasm. At last, it became inflation. It is clear that
there are many causes leaded to the financial crisis in the 2008. However, America s macro policy is
definitely the core reason for the financial crisis. Since 1999, America began to release financial
regulation. It made American financial ecological environment break out many problems. For
example, financial derivative instruments occurred changes, value chain became longer and longer,
which leaded to a subprime crisis. Before subprime crisis happened, the American government
proposed a series of acts and policies involved limited export. American government adopted different
trade barriers for developing countries. And it also limited technology products which push the
domestic products price increase and decrease the job opportunities. At the same time, the government
controlled domestic economical innovation power. That is also a main reason of financial crisis.

Similarities Between The Solider And Dulce Et Decorum Est
The Solider by Rupert Brooke and Dulce et decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, are two poems written
during the time of World War One (WW1). Both poems are an example of each authors perception on
war, Owens being about the spiteful reality and Brookes about the glory of dying one s country.
Although they are two very different perspectives both are based around the horrors of war and the
unimaginable amount of deaths that WW1 had caused. There are numerous amounts of similarities
between the two poems Dulce et Decorum Est and The Soldier . Throughout The Soldier Brooke
revels the fact that fighting in war for the sole purpose of defending ones country is courageous, he
supports this act by writing And think, this heart, all evil shed ... Show more content on

In the first stanza of Dulce et Decorum Est , the reader is instantly drawn in with Bent double . This
gives the poem a feeling of immediacy which is then followed up by a detailed description of what is
to come. Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs/ Men marched asleep/ Many had lost their
boots but limped on. The reader is yet again, drawn into the graphic scene of war. The alliteration
Knock kneed emphasises the battle weariness of the soldiers and intensifies the way they depicted
war. Owen creates rhythm throughout the stanza by littering the poem with pauses. He uses this
technique in the line All went blind; Drunk with fatigue; death even to the hoots Of tired . Owen
makes the scene more vivid by bringing in his own involvement to war with we cursed through the
sludge , he uses the term sludge to help capture the agony which was being experienced by the
soldiers. The Soldier is one of numerous poems written at the beginning of war (before Dulce et
Decorum Est ) to attract naive young men who believed enrolling in war would be an exciting
adventure allowing them to travel the world. Brooke welcomes death in his sonnet and expresses that
he feels privileged to have been raised in England, believing it was a blessing. In the first stanza,
Brooke gives the impression of England being a tranquil country, in which he feels honoured to be
English. If I should die, think

The Glass As Half Full

The Glass as Half Full: A Reflection of the Unseen in Sappho to Philaenis
Skepticism surrounding John Donne s Sappho to Philaenis relates to the fact that the societal structure
at the time the poem was written was one dominated by heterosexual, misogynistic men, suggesting
that Donne s treatment of female homosexuality was geared towards the satiation of these
heterosexual males desires, these men being his primary audience at the time. However, the
significance of Donne s poem must be explored on another level. In contrast to the view that the piece
was meant to represent a male dominant society, an alternate view is that the poem originates from a
place of protofeminism and a pioneering sexual outlook on Donne s part. In Sappho to Philaenis, the
purity and secrecy of the two women s sexuality functions as a significant argument for the validity of
same sex relationships; Donne makes the invisible the erotic, thereby defining a discourse for
lesbianism. Early modern literature penned by heterosexual males and referencing lesbian
relationships should not be dismissed as being inauthentic and inaccurate depictions solely based on
the fact that a male perspective is given with regard to these relationships. James Holstun claims that
Donne takes the concepts of sameness, oneness, and mirroring in Sappho to Philaenis and infuses a
heterosexist judgment, viewing lesbianism from a sterile, impersonal

Personal Speech On Football
In just about every football game from any age group there is always some sort of peptalk. This is
usually given by the coach to fire up the players and get them ready for the game ahead of them. The
pep talk I got that night will be in my mind for the rest of my life. My Coach always gave us life
lessons that were key not only on the field but off of it as well. He would say things such as there is no
I in team and anything is accomplishable if you work hard enough. He was always inspiring me with
his speeches, but one stuck out the most. This speech was at one of our Thursday night meetings; we
would meet every Thursday to eat supper together as a team, hang out with freinds, and most
importantly get ready for the game on Friday. We would always sit in chairs and listen to him; Usually
ranting on about teamwork and stuff like that but he changed it up. The life lesson he was teaching us
was play like it was your last game.
In his story he talked about a bulldog, and how the owner showed no pity on him. The man would not
let the bulldog ride in the carriage with him, the dog always had to keep up with the man. One night
the man was riding in his carriage and decided to camp the night out. So he stopped and set up his
camp and noticed the dog wasn t around. The man said to his kids if the bulldog wants to live he will
catch up . The kids were devastated at this and wanted the dog back, but did not testify their dad s
words. The man woke up in the middle of the night to the sounds of growling and vicious snarling.
That s when he heard his bulldog aggressively barking back at the creature. The man didn t dare go
outside to help his dog because he thought the dog had the willpower and strength to fend for itself. So
he heard a long going battle of barking, growling, biting, and whimpering. At about midnight the
fighting noises stopped in a great whimpering noise. He didn t know if the dog was still alive or not
but he went back to sleep. The next day the man and his family woke up and left the tent to find his
bulldog laying in the grass next to a giant grey wolf. The bulldog fought for its life and won, this is
because the wolf thought he had nothing to lose but the bulldog fought for everything he had. My

  • 2. Romeo And Juliet Movie Vs Play I think Luhrmann did a better job at capturing the story in a decade where we could better understand what was happening. He did an outstanding job at emphasizing the dialogue. There were many differences between Luhrmann s version and Zeffirelli s version. I believe that Zeffirelli did a more refined job at creating a performance which closely relates to the story. Overall, I would have to say that Luhrmann did an excellent job at his version, which barely outshines Zeffirelli. In Luhrmann s 1996 version of Romeo + Juliet, we could pick out the differences between the performance and the story, and it was easier to understand what was happening. You could tell who was who, and the actors did an excellent job at playing their parts, making ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Report On The Customs System Of India Registration For our team project, we will be exporting LED light bulbs from India. This country has initiated an Indians Customs EDI System to facilitate trade and to exchange documents electronically. Vijay Anand, customs manager for India with Expediters International describes the export processes to be very simple, If all the documentation are perfect, you can even clear customs on an export within three to four hours subject to the documentation (new.export.gov) First, it is mandatory for an exporter to register their business with the Directorate General Foreign Trade (DGFT) or regional import export licensing authority. An Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is also mandatory, it is a 10 digit code which is issued by DGFT. (portology.com) The IEC code serves as an export license, a customs copy of this document needs to presented to the customs authority for clearing the goods and to prevent penalties and/or possible confiscation of the good (indolegal.com).Along with the IEC, Anand labels the Authorized Dealer (AD) code as a basic requirement for exporting from India, Every exporter who s involved in a foreign transaction should have a bank account, and this account should be informed to Indian customs and through the Bank of India, which is a federal bank , an AD code is allotted to each bank (new.export.gov). Moreover, a Business Identification Number (BIN) is required to file a shipping bill for clearance of exports. Further documents that may be necessary in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Section V And V Of The Corrections Textbook By Stohr Et Al Julie Ikpah Research Analysis Paper #2 February 17, 2015 Introduction: For this research and analysis paper we were assigned Section V and VI in the Corrections textbook by Stohr et al. Section V (five) covers probation and community corrections with pertinent and important concepts as well as many legal definitions. Section VI (six) covers prisons and the experiences that an inmate endures while serving their sentences, sentences that were levied against them for the crime they committed. These two sections read together is very informative and it helps to keep the reader focused on the big picture of sentences and what options are out there. Summary and Analysis: The introduction for Section V is an overall summation of other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Community corrections refers to the probation officers, and other governmental representatives working on the behalf of the State, to assist offenders with this last chance. A dual reason that these representatives are engaged in the work they do, is to monitor the behaviors of the convicted persons within the previously mentioned community in which they reside. Another interesting elaboration from the authors was the expansion on the overall cost of probation vs. prison. I found this section extremely interesting and enlightening. I certainly experienced somewhat of a paradigm shift when integrating these new financial implications that the government is burdened by vs. my own personal feelings of probation and its tendency to be soft on crime. If, by increasing the success of probation, then much more money can theoretically be returned to the taxpayers, and thereby having an overall positive result. The explanation of the roles of probation and parole officers were also informative to me as a reader. The reason I found it informative was because I had never thought of the probation officers job duties and roles are quite as varied as they actually are. Sometimes they act as dual roles, meaning parole and probation officer but this is not the case in all jurisdictions. Probation officers job duties are varied and demanding upon the person who dares to take on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Executive Summary of Chiba EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The case on Chiba International Inc. deals with the challenges faced by a Japanese company¶s manufacturing plant set up in rural Georgia to adapt the philosophy of the company to its American workforce and culture. Ken Morikawa, the general manager for administration and John Sinclair, the American personnel head of the company are determined to find out how Chiba International, another Japanese company based in California, has successfully translated its corporate philosophy into action that has led to considerably good profits for the company. Ken, having had extensive experience in the field of personnel management is perplexed about John¶s desire to translate the company¶s Japanese philosophy to suit the American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... is in sharp contrast with the Japanese collectivist nature of working in a group for the company as a whole. The individualistic nature of the Americans also leads to power conflicts among themselves. This is because, when additional responsibilities are given to them, they view it as an extension of their individual sovereignties (because of their thirst for personal achievements and accomplishments) and this leads to power conflicts in the case of overlapping sovereign areas. The Japanese being extremely high on the dimension of ³masculinity´, the job culture is often in contradiction to the American workers who lay equal emphasis to personal life as to professional, and their work life balance is imbalanced. The excessive importance given to dedication and devotion to work can create work stress for the Americans who put ³personal and family happiness first´. This is also evident in their recruitment philosophy: It is the ability, performance and attitude of an individual which is measured in an interview, rather than assigning a pseudo ± status to one owing to the prestige of his degree. This often leads to a communication gap between the Japanese and the Americans, which is literally evident in the meetings and discussions which happen at late hours when the Americans have retired for the day, among the Japanese in their language. Needless to say, this created apprehension in the minds of the Americans but the management tries to rectify the issue by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire 07 is administered to individuals from a child s parent. 2. The DCDQ 07 is not in itself norm standardized, but the test does ask parents to think of other children the child s age when filling out the test. It is strongly recommended to refer to a test that is norm referenced in order to determine if there is a developmental problem that should be addressed further. The DCDQ 07 is designed in a way that may over estimate coordination problems in order to not risk missing any children. The DCDQ is essentially used as a pre screening tool in order to indicate if a child should be assessed more. 3. The DCDQ 07 is criterion referenced. It asks for information to identify the possibility of the presence of criterion B of Developmental Coordination Disorder in the DSM. PURPOSE OF TEST: The purpose of the DCDQ 07 is for parents to assess children from 5 15 on their motor control and abilities to check for the possibility of Developmental Coordination Disorder. • 9. The Bias Of Law Enforcement Officers The implicit bias of law enforcement officers to perceive White Americans as innocent, and non White Americans as criminals, has lead law enforcement officers to profile non White Americans. This is an example of white privilege because white offenders are virtually immune to being suspected of drug use. And because law enforcement officers do not suspect white people of drug use in proportion to the number of them that actually use drugs, they do not arrest white drug users accordingly. Moreover, court officials do not charge white offenders proportionately. Thus, disproportion in incarceration rates is a form of racial inequity. If white people used their privilege to advocate for non white people we could eliminate this racial inequity. But first, we must take steps to educate white children on white privilege. Only then can white children use their privilege to advocate for non white people. How then, specifically, does educating white children on white privilege work? Educating white children on white privilege is not as straightforward as it may seem. One study in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology suggests that when presented with evidence of white privilege, white people actually respond with denial on the basis of personal hardships (Phillips, Lowry 12 18). The study also stated that understanding privilege, requires a comparison to someone of another group membership with the same life circumstances (Phillips, Lowry 12 18). • 11. Neighborly Relations Has Decline In The United States... According to the Chicago Tribune, Neighborly relations have declined in the U.S. since the 1950s. Some 28 percent of us know none of our neighbors names, particularly pervasive among younger and lower income people, (Mildenstein). Why is it that our society has become less neighborly? In our society today, people are caught up in themselves and do not like to connect personally or physically with their neighbors. Because of this, they do not take the time out of their day to meet or socialize with their neighbors. Since the 1950s, our societies values and morals have changed dramatically. We now have the whole world at our fingertips, and feel like we do not need the physical presence of people in our lives. Consequently, good neighbors have become extremely hard to come by. According to Dees (2013), leadership is a contact sport and excellent leadership inspires one to pursue personal resilience, and promote resilience in others and in organizations. It is imperative for leaders to navigate the body slams of life and bounce back, ideally even higher than before. According to Gini Green (2014), leadership is more than facts or theories; it is a lived process where problems, circumstances, specific issues, and the particular individuals involved shape the outcomes and play a critical role in the success or failure for the leader. There is no one definition of leadership and the equation is never fixed or set. The determining factor in leadership is one s character and becoming a leader is no different than becoming a fully integrated human being (Gini Green, 2014). According to Dees (2013), selfless service, integrity, and courage are the high core values of character. During the past decade several corporate leaders have been exposed in unethical business activity. Leaders can have possesses all the knowledge and core competencies; however in the absence of high moral character the talent topples (Dees, 2013). Adolf Hitler is an extreme case of a leader that possessed outstanding leader competencies, but clearly lacked character (Dees, 2013). Character and competency are important traits for effective leadership. Leaders need to put on the armor of God and avoid getting caught up in toxic behaviors of bitterness, frustration, and anger (Dees, 2014) . As crisis leadership is critical to a leader, one s response to the crisis will define their character. • 15. Flop Analysis Isolating limpers out of position can be a tricky proposition. Unless we have a big pair, small isos are typically not as attractive since we will be out of position throughout the hand, if called. A solution to this problem is something I call the third go. You may remember me covering this in Automatic Poker, Volume 1. The entire play was created to exploit players who limp a wide range and then often play fit or fold on the flop. It is a great way to lure bad players into making hugely unprofitable pre flop calls. The way it works is that when it is our turn to act in the blinds and there are one or more limpers, we simply bet about one third of our stack with the intention of shoving all in on any flop. As covered in detail in Professional No Limit Hold em, once you invest one third of your stack into any pot, it is always a mistake to fold. It does not matter if it is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When fold equity is high, it is more profitable to third and go the stronger parts of your range and shove the weaker ones. This concept applies to both shoving over limpers and to 3 betting, which will be covered in chapter x. If you think about it, the idea makes perfect sense. In low fold equity environments, when holding a weaker hand, you obviously want to elicit a fold more often, so giving yourself two chances to win makes more sense. Weak players may call a similar range vs a shove that they will vs a third and go, and if called after thirding, you can shove the flop profitably since your opponent will miss more often than not and not be likely to call the shove. Take this example, played versus a very loose player: Shoving our entire stack in with a strong hand versus our loose opponent allowed us to win the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He is one of the greatest representative figures of the Victorian Age. His writing incorporates many poetic styles and includes some of the finest idyllic poetry in the language. After so many years of battle, after so much grief and trauma that Odysseus and his men spent, they need to escape into a dreamlike world in which they may begin their healing. Psychologically, the deeper the pain one has experienced, the more often one is drawn to experiences of ecstasy in order to counter it. On a a deeper level, the Lotophagi experience appears to be an antecedent of the adventures that follow with the Cyclops, Circe, Calypso, and the Sirens4. There are a lot of images in the poem. Owen makes the scene more vivid by bringing in his own involvement to war with we cursed through the sludge , he uses the term sludge to help capture the agony which was being experienced by the soldiers. The Soldier is one of numerous poems written at the beginning of war (before Dulce et Decorum Est ) to attract naive young men who believed enrolling in war would be an exciting adventure allowing them to travel the world. Brooke welcomes death in his sonnet and expresses that he feels privileged to have been raised in England, believing it was a blessing. In the first stanza, Brooke gives the impression of England being a tranquil country, in which he feels honoured to be English. If I should die, think ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Glass As Half Full Arati M. Jambotkar ENGL 520 Short Paper 2 October 2014 The Glass as Half Full: A Reflection of the Unseen in Sappho to Philaenis Skepticism surrounding John Donne s Sappho to Philaenis relates to the fact that the societal structure at the time the poem was written was one dominated by heterosexual, misogynistic men, suggesting that Donne s treatment of female homosexuality was geared towards the satiation of these heterosexual males desires, these men being his primary audience at the time. However, the significance of Donne s poem must be explored on another level. In contrast to the view that the piece was meant to represent a male dominant society, an alternate view is that the poem originates from a place of protofeminism and a pioneering sexual outlook on Donne s part. In Sappho to Philaenis, the purity and secrecy of the two women s sexuality functions as a significant argument for the validity of same sex relationships; Donne makes the invisible the erotic, thereby defining a discourse for lesbianism. Early modern literature penned by heterosexual males and referencing lesbian relationships should not be dismissed as being inauthentic and inaccurate depictions solely based on the fact that a male perspective is given with regard to these relationships. James Holstun claims that Donne takes the concepts of sameness, oneness, and mirroring in Sappho to Philaenis and infuses a heterosexist judgment, viewing lesbianism from a sterile, impersonal ... • 38. Personal Speech On Football In just about every football game from any age group there is always some sort of peptalk. This is usually given by the coach to fire up the players and get them ready for the game ahead of them. The pep talk I got that night will be in my mind for the rest of my life. My Coach always gave us life lessons that were key not only on the field but off of it as well. He would say things such as there is no I in team and anything is accomplishable if you work hard enough. He was always inspiring me with his speeches, but one stuck out the most. This speech was at one of our Thursday night meetings; we would meet every Thursday to eat supper together as a team, hang out with freinds, and most importantly get ready for the game on Friday. We would always sit in chairs and listen to him; Usually ranting on about teamwork and stuff like that but he changed it up. The life lesson he was teaching us was play like it was your last game. In his story he talked about a bulldog, and how the owner showed no pity on him. The man would not let the bulldog ride in the carriage with him, the dog always had to keep up with the man. One night the man was riding in his carriage and decided to camp the night out. So he stopped and set up his camp and noticed the dog wasn t around. The man said to his kids if the bulldog wants to live he will catch up . The kids were devastated at this and wanted the dog back, but did not testify their dad s words. The man woke up in the middle of the night to the sounds of growling and vicious snarling. That s when he heard his bulldog aggressively barking back at the creature. The man didn t dare go outside to help his dog because he thought the dog had the willpower and strength to fend for itself. So he heard a long going battle of barking, growling, biting, and whimpering. At about midnight the fighting noises stopped in a great whimpering noise. He didn t know if the dog was still alive or not but he went back to sleep. The next day the man and his family woke up and left the tent to find his bulldog laying in the grass next to a giant grey wolf. The bulldog fought for its life and won, this is because the wolf thought he had nothing to lose but the bulldog fought for everything he had. My ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
