The Five Types Of Business Entities
Choosing between the many business entities offered can be a challenge for some and finding the
different pros and cons to each entities. In this essay, I will examine and analyze each business entity
that is discussed in our class textbook. The book displays five types business entities. These entities
include corporations, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships, partnerships and lastly,
sole proprietorships. For each business entity, I will go in depth and define each usage and develop
some pros and cons ideas. A business entity can be defined as an association that launches itself as a
distinct presence for devotions with taxes.
The corporate structure can be quite complex and expensive than most of the business entities. A
corporation is an impartial legal unit that is discrete from the proprietors. It entails obeying with
guidelines and tax requests. One of the major advantages for a business holder that ... Show more

Partnerships come in two categories, general and limited. With a general partnership, associates
succeed the company and undertake accountability for the partnership s debts and other
responsibilities. In a limited partnership, partners serve as only investors. The partners have no power
over the company and they are not focused with the similar liabilities as general partners have. A
general partnership would be easier to practice if two or more partners who strive to be vigorously
convoluted in the company. One of the major advantages of a partnership is the tax treatment it entails.
A partnership does not pay tax on its earnings but passes through any profits or losses to the individual
partners. During tax season, the partnership has to file a tax return that accounts for its income and
losses. Personal liability is a main distress if you use a general partnership to develop your

A Historical Analysis Essay When My Name Was Keoko

Japanese invaded and took over Korea. They took over the culture and forbade the korean language in
public. They did not allow writing to be in korean. They forced the koreans to adapt their culture and
leave their own. In the 1930s Japan began a program to erase the Korean national identity by banning
the use of the Korean language in schools and requiring all Koreans to adopt Japanese names .
(KoreanHistory.info). With this, tension grew as the Koreans were forced to give up their culture. This
resulted in resistance groups forming. The Koreans wanted to fight the takeover, so they did. Japanese

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator
The study of personalities is often a complex and daunting task. Trying to determine why people are
the way they are, why they do what they do, and how they will react to certain situations has been the
focus of many personality assessments. One of the most popular personality assessments being the
Myers Briggs Type Indicator or the MBTI. The core idea of this assessment when being created was to
help individuals gain more insight into their personalities. In the words of the creators, Katherine and
Isabel Briggs Myers, this assessment was created to enable individuals to grow through an
understanding and appreciation of individual differences in healthy personality and to enhance
harmony and productivity among diverse groups (History, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These eight types Jung described in his book where shown in pairs of opposites, so a person is
identified as one or the other. The first pair being ways in which we adapt to or orient ourselves to the
world around us. These two ideas are described as extraversion and introversion. Extraversion is when
our energy moves toward the outer world; the world outside of us. Introversion is when our energy
moves toward the inner world or the world inside of us (Carl jung and psychological types, n.d.). Jung
believed that our orientation to the world, whether that be introverted or extroverted, is the foundation
of our personality. Although most tend to go back and forth these two energies on a daily basis
depending on the environment we find ourselves in, Jung believed that we feel most comfortable in
one of these worlds over the other.
In addition to being either more extraverted or introverted, Jung theorized that these alone could not
account for behavioral differences he observed in people. Therefore, he identified two opposite mental
functions in which we use to take in information. Sensing perception which is the process of collecting
data through our five senses and intuitive perception which is the process in which connections are
made and meanings inferred beyond our sensory data (Carl jung and psychological types, n.d.). Jung
also identified two opposite mental functions which we use to evaluate information or

Essay on Reforming Credit Laws
Credit allows consumers to finance transactions without having to pay the full cost of the merchandise
at the time of the purchase. A common form of consumer credit is a credit card account issued by a
financial institution. Merchants may also provide financing for products which they sell. Banks may
directly finance purchases through loans and mortgages. Consumers imperatively rely on credit, so it
is necessary that credit laws help protect the consumer. I will discuss some of the major credit laws
that impact the consumer, examine whether these laws are working, and talk about possible changes
that might be needed to make sure the consumer is rightly protected.

The FTC s work is performed by the Bureaus of Consumer Protection, Competition and Economics.
The body of the Bureau of Consumer Protection was created to protect consumers against unfair,

Congress. It protects consumers obtaining credit to finance their transactions, ensures that adequate
credit is provided, and governs the credit industry in general. Congress passed the Consumer Credit
Protection Act, in part, to regulate the consumer credit industry, requiring creditors to disclose credit
terms to consumers. The Consumer Credit Protection Act also protects consumers from loan sharks,
restricts the garnishing of wages, and established the National Commission on Consumer Finance to
investigate the consumer finance industry. Credit card companies, credit reporting agencies, and
certain debt collectors are regulated by the Act. The Act also prohibits discrimination based on sex or
marital status in extending of credit.
Even with these acts there to protect consumers from obtaining bad credit, there still are complaints
about lenders that are non compliant in their credit agreements. In 1974, the Consumer Credit
Protection Act stated that borrowers could

Examples Of The Strongest Individual In The Crucible
The Strongest Individual in The Crucible The philosopher Baltasar Gracian said, A single lie destroys
a whole reputation of integrity. This statement means a person could easily ruin a good reputation by
lying and even if you attempt to cover it up, your credibility is still lost. In Arthur Miller s play The
Crucible, the character John Proctor is most independent and shows the most individualism. The
strongest ways he shows this are going against the church, being selfish about his name and having an
affair and admitting it. One of the ways a well known farmer, John Proctor, shows individuality is
through his problems with the church. An example of one of his issues is when Reverend Hale, a
called on minister from a nearby town, questions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the deputy governor, Judge Danforth, pleads with John to lie and admit to witchcraft John
argues and says, How may I live without my name? I have given you my soul; leave my name! (207).
While Danforth begs John to admit, John is more worried about his name. He does not care that it is
selfish to protect his name, which shows his strong independent views. He also just wants a clean slate
and his children to think highly of him, he does not care about what is good for the community. As
Judge Danforth continues to push John to sign his name to witchcraft, and lie about committing the
crime, John goes back and forth eventually choosing to stay honest and die for his beliefs. John than
states, ... Because I lie and sign myself to lies! (207). Here John sticks to being honest, instead of
giving in and lying. He stands up for what he believes, is more important than his life. John has the
chance to be false and save his life, but that does not matter to him. He would have most likely been
jailed for a period of time then sent back to his family. Instead he chooses honesty and pays his life for
it. When Proctor does not give into lying and keeps his clean name, he displays amazing integrity and

Essay on Free Will
Free Will
A definition of free will, as we have seen, can be misunderstood and easily distorted. For the purpose
of this essay free will, will be defined as the ability to chose, express ones feelings, emotions, or
actions unconditionally.
From the first time I understood the meaning of what free will was, I believed in it 100%. I had the
right and ability to choose what ever I liked. Not only did I believe that I had free will but if I ever
heard otherwise I felt that the other person did not have a clear understanding of what free will was,
and as a result I could demonstrate a fairly strong persuasive argument opposing anything but the
existence of free will. I would illustrate a situation in which there seemed to be no ... Show more

I grew up in a household where I was taught that I was and will always be free. I also never had any
religious affiliation within my first 8 years of schooling, which might have influenced me to think
differently. The illustration of a gun to ones head is also rooted within the environment of others as
well as my own. We can assume that the majority of people would want to live in that situation and
therefore follow what is being asked of them. Now is that there free will? I don t think so. The fact
that they choose to live is based on their enjoyment of life and there lessons that they have been taught
by their upbringing, this is their environment. The same would be true on an extreme end. Somebody
may make the decision to not obey and sacrifice his or her life because of extreme misery and
discontent. Furthermore, the reason for the unhappiness may be a result of heredity. The victim s
mother could have used drugs, or something similar that which had an effect on her child.
God plays an interesting role in this explanation of free will. Presently, after having about 7 years of
religious education I feel like I am educated enough to speak of God. I believe that people can be
affected by God within there decision making and often have God make the choice for them. For
example, the choice to remain celibate until marriage, that is God s wishes

Twelfth Night Duality
In Act 1, Scene 2 of Twelfth Night, as Viola lays down her plans before the captain, she speaks about a
major theme of the play: the way a person seems outwardly versus their true self. Viola says she is
aware people cannot be trusted based on their looks, but trusts the captain. She then requests his help
so she can be dressed as a boy for the remainder of the play. The way she behaves also hits on another
theme, the contrast between people that can act as a balance. Through comparison, she can be seen as
a counterbalance to Sebastian in the way they both conduct themselves. The majority of the characters
have a twin of their own to act as a sort of foil. Exploring this passage (1.2.96 108) will help see the
double themes of duality that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As if extending the idea of the twins, Viola and Sebastian, nearly everyone seems to have their
complementary twin. As mentioned earlier, Viola takes charge and makes her own plans while
Sebastian seems to operate on whims. There is also a difference in their outlooks. Viola is easily
assured that her brother may still be alive, while Sebastian is certain his sister is dead. Olivia and
Orsino also act as the counterbalance to one another. While both are absorbed in their own melancholy
moods, Orsino does it for the love he desires and Olivia does it for loved ones she s lost. Despite their
opposing approaches towards wooing, they both end up with a love of their own. Another interesting
counterbalance is between the captain and Antonio. The captain saved Viola, but after accepting
money to help her, he went his separate way, never expressing feelings for her. In contrast, Antonio
rescued Sebastian, then gave him money and followed him, all the while expressing love for him.
Then there is Sir Toby and Malvolio, perhaps two of the most evident opposites in the play because of
the way Malvolio actively opposes Sir Toby. Malvolio is somber and serious. He wants people to
respect him and kisses up to Olivia. Sir Toby, however, is more of a clown than Feste, staying up to all
hours of the night, drinking and carelessly waking the house with his singing. Malvolio does what he
can to seem above his station, but Sir Toby does not worry what others think and often seems below
his station. Though, with a character like Malvolio, finding people to be his opposite is no chore; Feste
and Maria could also work to contrast with him, but Malvolio and Sir Toby s hatred of each other do
seem most

Why people believe in ghosts.
Lying in bed in the middle of the night while sleep eludes me, a noise breaks through the silence. Oh
my God! What was that!? Maybe it was just my imagination, or maybe it was just the house settling.
There it is again! I must be hearing things. I get cold and my body starts to shiver uncontrollably. I
peek to where the sound comes from and I could swear I see something through the dark room; it
appears even darker than the surrounding area. Oh my! I think it just moved. My breathing becomes
labored and I pull the covers over my head, trying to calm myself down while making my brain work
through what just happened. Was I dreaming? Or did I just see a ghost?

The belief in Doppelgangers and poltergeist has also crossed the ocean over to the U.S. Many people
still report poltergeist activity in their homes.
Another example of a cultures belief in ghosts is Ireland s and Scotland s (also known as the Celt s)
belief in Samhain or All Hallow s Eve. Samhain is a festival that is celebrated from October 31st to
November 2nd. Samhain is a time of the year that celebrates the last harvest before the winter comes,
and is dedicated to the Lord of the Dead (Guiley 19). The Celt s believe that the dead will come out of
their final resting place and mess with the crops. Also, it is believed that communication with the dead
is easier during Samhain. It is said that the veil that separates the living from the dead is at its thinnest
during this time. The Lord of the Dead holds a sentencing of spirits, where if they were good they can
exist in the form of a human, and if they were bad, the form of an animal. Offerings of food and drink
are made to the Lord of the Dead so he would not be so severe in his sentencing. Many Celt s would
dress up on Samhain to confuse the spirits that were roaming around so they wouldn t stop, but
continue to pass them by (Guiley 19). This festival is still celebrated today as Halloween. Currently,
Americans hold by some of the old traditions by dressing up and making offerings by handing out
candy. Many Celt s still hold beliefs in the old ways. Celt s also believe in what is

Rational, Non-Emotional, Reasoning Process
The final doubt questions whether our sufferers can even partake in a rational, non emotional,
reasoning process. The question then is going to revolve around if our sufferers can actually do a
proper cost benefit analysis. Four aspects make up a cost benefit analysis. They are calculating
benefits, costs, the probability of success, and comparing analyses to one another. Our sufferers should
be able to compare, but the other three are in doubt. When attributing costs and benefit, there is both a
logical part, and emotional part. It seems like they can do the logical part, but as we just showed, our
sufferers don t have the capacity to reason emotionally. What this means is that they are not going to

Our sufferers may cause harm to others, but would be unable to understand that this causing of harm is
both a cost for themselves and the agent whom they harmed. They are really separate from the costs in
this way, and so again, the values our sufferers attribute to the costs will not be indicative of what they
should really be. Now, onto the probability of success, we see that our sufferers and their egoistic
personalities get in the way of truly understanding how they likely they will be able to achieve their
ends. Their egoistic nature causes our sufferers to believe that they can accomplish anything, as their
skills are just so great that nothing could stop them. But this false. Obviously, it s not the case that I
will necessarily achieve every ends that I pursue, but rather there is possibility of failure in regards to
most of these ends. It s not always a given that anyone will succeed all of the time, and so our
sufferers equations are off as our sufferers don t understand what the probabilities of success should
be. Then in regards to logical reasoning, it does not appear that our sufferers can properly do

Analysis of Beach Chairs
The poem Beach Chairs , written by Joyce Ebrecht, is one of many poems that share a meaning of
love. The situation of the poem is that of two couples sitting on beach chairs and watching the world
pass by while thinking about their love for each other. The overall themes of this poem are that of love
and unity. Joyce Ebrecht achieves these overall themes through the structure, diction, figures of
speech, pace/rhythm, and sounds of the poem.
Structure is a crucial element in a poem and can serve to enhance the theme. Beach Chairs is
organized into 6 stanzas, each stanza composed of 4 lines. Starting with the first stanza at setting sun
to the last at sunrise, the majority of the poem occurs at night. Night and darkness represents the ...

The term sunrise is a special word representing love because it is the beginning of a new day which is
bright, warm, and comfortable much like one s relationship.
The author integrates many figures of speech to express the theme of love and unity. Located in the
third stanza on the last line, the alliteration of the L sound strengthens the idea of the two couple s love
since L sounds are long and they last, lingering in the reader s mind. Another figure of speech used is
the phrase changing tide which is a metaphor for representing the highs and lows of one s relationship.
Every stanza always starts with the phrase; sitting on the beach chairs, this repetition reinforces the
idea of relaxation and enjoyment the two couples are having. They are still united after enduring
obstacles life throws at them because of the repeated phrase holding hands.
The amount of stanzas and the lengths of each line can dictate the speed at which the reader is reading
at. The reason why Beach Chairs is organized into six stanzas is because each stanza represents a
phase in the two couple s relationship; from the day they met to their marriage and continuing onward
into their senior years. Every last line of each stanza explains and strengthens their love for one
another and it is generally also the longest line. This results in the reader to spend most of their time
dwelling on the message. In Beach Chairs something as specific as the sound of

How Did Giovanni De Medici Family s Rise To Power
Giovanni di Bicci de Medici initiated the Medici family s rise to power during the Renaissance by
founding the Medici Bank. Giovanni was born in 1360 to his father, Averardo de Medici, and his
mother, Jacopo, Spini. Although Giovanni was not born into a wealthy family he got his start working
in bank management beside Vieri di Cambio de Medici. Vieri taught Giovanni about banking and in
1385 Giovanni ran the Rome branch of Vieira s bank (Cole 1). After Vieri retired Giovanni gained

Reservation Blues Essay
Reservation Blues by Sherman Alexie continually forces you to think about the concept of
Americanization, more specifically of the Native Americans. Sherman Alexie used forms of racial
loathing in presenting how Native Americans handle the Americanization process.
In Reservation Blues, a group of Native Americans formed a band called Coyote Springs and struggle
to integrate themselves into mainstream American society. Their talents are overshadowed by their
inability to be accepted as Indians. While none of the band members exhibit any outright hatred for
their race, Victor and Junior do illustrate resentment for traditional Indian customs. Their attitude
concerning their identity does border self hate.
Whereas the other band members, Chess and Thomas embrace the tradition of storytelling, Victor and
Junior despise it. Storytelling was a rich tradition among all Native Americans. This is how stories
were passed down from generation to generation, through oral tradition. The stories passed down were
ways of recording the history, culture, and beliefs of Native American tribes. In her article Native

The Three Concepts Of Donald Davidson s Anomalous Monism
Donald Davidson s Mental Events, challenges how we discuss mind body interactions. The thesis
presented by Davidson, is that of Anomalous Monism, which attempts to answer the causality of
mental and physical events. Differing from forms of the more common Dualism, Davidson accepts
monism as the best way to describe the mind body relationship. Meaning he accepts token identity and
rejects type identity. Davidson s argument consists of three key principles. The first being the
Principle of Causal Interaction which states that at least some mental events interact causally with
physical events. The second is the Principle of the Nomological Character of Causality, where there is
causality there must be law (Deterministic law). The third is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Essentially, he is saying that the mental physical relationship is dependent on an identity that is not
connected by psycho physical laws but on the properties of the two terms. Thus, The Principle of
Causal Interaction states that at least some mental events interact causally with physical events.
Therefore, the principle is saying that some mental events do not causally interact with physical ones,
which differentiates Anomalous monism from other theories on psycho physical causation.
The Principle of the Nomological Character of Causality, is Davidson s second principle for
Anomalous monism. As we review the next two principles we will run into many seemingly
contradicting points that can be argued in favor anEd against Davidson s Anomalous monism. The
second principle states that, where there is causality, there must be law: events related as cause and
effect fall under strict deterministic laws. Right away we can recognize the contradiction with the first
principle of causal interaction. According to the first principle of casual interaction there are no
psycho physical laws in which we can define mental and physical term, but in the second principle it
relies on strict deterministic laws. The principles appear to begin to contradict each other but Davidson
depend on his specific explanations to make sense of his seemingly opposing

Explain the Purpose of Hermeneutics
The primary need of Hermeneutics is to determine and understand the meaning of Biblical text. The
purpose of Hermeneutics is to bridge the gap between our minds and the minds of the Biblical writers
through a thorough knowledge of the original languages, ancient history and the comparison of
Scripture with Scripture. Through Hermeneutics, Biblical Interpretation can be achieved in three
ways; historically, the message and the doctrine.
The Bible is totally authoritive and inspired by God, however is it propositional or not? To be
propositional means that God reveals certain truths at which we respond in accepting these truths.
These certain truths may be found in scripture, creeds and or the teachings of the church. Non

The Liberals believe that the writers of the Bible accommodated their recipients and hence the Bible is
not binding on us. Non propositional theology is often favoured by liberal theologians because it
places the emphasis on human experience and rationality.
The third school of interpretation is Traditionalism. Traditionalists maintain that the Bible is full of
truth, God is revealed within the Bible and that it is inspired by the Holy Spirit. One of the key
characteristics of their approach to the Bible is its emphasis on the need to understand the nature of the
different types of literature within the bible. However, traditionalists would not accept the
fundamentalist s notion of inerrancy as many would acknowledge that there are mistakes in the Bible.
These are seen as a reflection of both the historical context in which they are written and the human
fallibility of the authors. As with Liberals, traditionalists believe that some aspects of the Bible need to
be reinterpreted for today. Traditionalists place a lot of emphasis on the process of exegesis. However,
after establishing the intended meaning of the author the next step in the traditional approach is the
question of how it should be applied to Christian today. However, whereas fundamentalists believe
that the true meaning of a text should be clear to each reader;

Expansive Clay Soil
To err is human, to forgive divine. When it comes to homeowner mistakes that cause foundation
damage, at least the first half of that well known quote is true. Few however, will be in a forgiving
mood when dealing with the damage to one s house and foundation caused by a number of common
oversights.
If you have made some of the mistakes listed below, don t be too hard on yourself because unless you

Before getting to them, some background information on expansive clay soil is necessary.

The Influence Of The Tokugawa Period In Japan
The Tokugawa period in Japan, otherwise known as the Edo period (1603 1867) was the final era of

going into chaos. The Meiji Restoration period (1868 1912) consisted the return of full emperor

Japan went through large economical change through the harvesting of agriculture to the production of
various items, all achieved through peace. From 1603 1867 Japan was fulfilled with a 250 year war
free country and isolation, only prior before the country was scattered into many different rulers.

Interrogating Culture And Psychology
Interrogating Culture and Biology in the Understanding the theory of Person
Overview
Within the purview of the understanding of the theory of the person, relativism holds sway. Several
things are at play in forming an individual s response to external stimuli. An individual s
understanding of his culture often informs these responses. Whereas individual s understanding of
culture(s) is limited, that is the point where relativism comes in. where a knowledge stops is where
another start, hence opinions vary in relation to the individual experience of a subject matter. The
dynamics of a culture is dependent on its environment. These variables also have deep rooted relations

This paper interrogates the various contradictions in Nordstrom s opinion, about the various levels of
violence and their interpretations. Culture influences interpretations of events and they are relative to
context and individuals or groups. It also interrogates Berkowitz (1978:707) tentative summation of
pain as being the source of aggression in man. I attempt to test their ideas using Sapolsky s research in

Introduction
The subsequent statistical data focus on statistical information from the AJ Davis Dept. Store. The
department store endeavors to unearth the veracity about their credit customers. The Data are
incorporated of a sample of 50 credit customers based on five different variables namely the location
(rural, urban, suburban), incomes, year, and the credit balance.
1.LOCATION (Rural, Urban, Suburban)
2.INCOME (in $1,000 s be careful with this)
3.SIZE (Household Size, meaning number of people living in the household)
4.YEARS (the number of years that the customer has lived in the current location)
5.CREDIT BALANCE (the customers current credit card balance on the store s credit card, in $)

I/ Descriptive Statistics.
We will describe the location, the income and household size.
A/ Descriptive Statistics: Location
The first individual variable is Location . We can characterize it as a categorical variable. For this
reason, its (the Location ) three subcategories are Urban, Suburban and Rural. Because, it s a
categorical variable, the events and measures of its central tendency and descriptive statistics cannot
be calculated. However, we count:
Urban: 21
Suburban: 15
Rural: 14
Location Frequency Relative Frequency
Urban 21 0.42
Suburban 15 0.30
Rural 14 0.28

Hannah In American Teen
In the movie American teen, one of the characters that really stood out to me was the rebel: Hannah.
The reason she caught my attention was because she was different from the rest of the teenagers. She
was fun and had a sense of humor. Usually, teenagers care a lot about what others think of them. I for
one, am guilty for this. I care about what people think because I don t want people to think I am a
crazy girl or ugly or weird. She knew that she was different from the rest and she didn t care, which
made her unique. She had a dream to become an artist, and she followed through with her dream. I
like people like Hannah because of her right mindset. She accomplished things with her life and kept

The And The War For America
Often when we speak of the struggle for America we think of the Revolutionary War, or even of the
Civil War. We reminisce of tales of bravado and of cunning, of George Washington and our country s
forefathers leading the revolution against the British and of pursuing the dream of a nation free from
tyranny. But often the tyranny that this new nation itself took part in is largely glossed over. It is
largely accepted that America unfairly pushed out the Native Americans from their homelands, but the
means in which they did so was crueler than the British tyranny that we rebelled against. In Colin
Calloway s The Shawnees and the War for America, we learn of a different struggle for America, we

The Indians viewed their land much differently than the colonists did. The colonists came over from
Europe and as such has no roots or historical attachment to the land. They only viewed it in terms of
its economic potential (Calloway 24). The Indians, however, did have deep roots, they did have a
historical attachment to the land. But it was much more than that. The Shawnees, as well as several
other Indian tribes, believed that the land they existed on was an island. They believed that it was
placed there by the Great Spirit and that the Shawnees were a chosen people. They believed that the
Great Spirit recreated the world following a flood and chose the Shawnee people as the first people to
reintroduce to the world, to this piece of land (Calloway 34). So, the colonists (which at this time
encompassed the British, the French, and the American colonists) viewed this land simply in terms of
money and ownership, but the Shawnees viewed it as their God given right and possessed a spiritual
connection to the land. Indian populations in the Ohio region learned to play the British and the
French off one another. But eventually the two powers declared war and both looked to the Indians for
alliances. Indian populations in Ohio weren t particularly loyal to either the British or the French, they
only wished to keep their sacred land free from European possession. Most tribes believed that siding

Anti-Gliadin Case Studies
This study was conducted to confirm weather or not gluten sensitivity is a marker in patients with
neurological illness. Anti Gliadin antibodies are produced to counter react gliadin, a protein commonly
found in bread. These antibodies are also an indicator of untreated coeliac disease within some
patients that have been studied. Since neurological dysfunctions are usually directly associated with
coeliac disease, the case study was conducted to show that a gluten intolerance would be common in
patients that have a neurological disorder of unknown cause. Data was obtained in patients with

Discovering the metaphorical pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was a long and arduous journey for
Irish immigrants. The journey was full of unexpected obstacle to overcome on the path to freedom in
the land of opportunity known as America. Of factors leading the Irish to emigrate from Ireland to
America in between 1700 1800, the most significant were due to political and economic misfortunes
suffered by Irish residents who fell victim to English rule. The film, The Irish in America notes 1800

Parties Against Full Inclusion
According to the latest figures available from Data Accountability Center, U.S. Department of
Education, 2,415,564 students were identified as having a Specific Learning Disability in the Fall of
2010 ( Full Inclusion ). With the severity of the number of individuals with disabilities in the school
system, the controversy of the best way to support them arises. One of the solutions of this
controversy is the issue of full inclusion. Those opposed to the idea of full inclusion fear that the
approach may impede on the children without disabilities and put a strain on the students with
disabilities. The major stakeholders against full inclusion also fear that the process will negatively
affect the teachers, as well as, the atmosphere of the classrooms. Many of these parties and individuals
are not fully against inclusion all together, but do not support the idea of full inclusion.
Author Sharon Cromwell states that she does not want to completely eradicate inclusion as whole,
because to oppose inclusion would seem to advocate exclusion. One of Cromwell s articles, called
Inclusion in the Classroom: Has it Gone Too Far? grew in popularity since she wrote it in 1997 her
paper was on the Education World website in 2004. In the article, she supports inclusion, but she
opposes full inclusion. She fears that the acts of full inclusion will put a strain on all of the individuals
involved. In her article, Cromwell states that many of the major

Timeline of Gendered Movements Beginning in the mid 19th century, woman suffrage supporters
worked to achieve what many Americans considered a radical change in the Constitution. Women s
rights pioneers used tactics such as parades, silent vigils, hunger strikes, and picketing to get there
points across and Congress to pass a women suffrage amendment. (Reforming Their World, 2007)
The 19th amendment of 1920 is a very important amendment to the constitution because it gave
women the right to vote. You may remember that the 15th amendment made it illegal for the federal
and state government to deny any US citizen the right to vote, however, this did not apply to women.

In 1964, the Civil Rights Act was passed forbidding discrimination on the basis of sex as well as race
in hiring, promoting, and firing. It took some time, but we have finally made it. Nevertheless, as you
can see from the past, even though a law is written, an amendment always seems to follow and that is
what happened in the case of General Electric v. Gilbert, in which the Court held that denial of
benefits for pregnancy related disability was not discrimination based on sex. Women s organizations,
feminists, and labor and civil rights advocates went to work and in 1978, an amendment to Title VII of
the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is passed by Congress, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, prohibiting
employment discrimination against pregnant women. (Encyclopedia.com, 2013) Between these we

Under Western Eyes Sparknotes
Feminist Foundations
As the feminist movement has progressed through several generations it has shifted quite a bit in its
general approach and theory. Contemporary writers such as Baumgardner and Richards, and Henry
have illustrated a generational shift away from structurally aimed actions, and towards individual acts
of subversion and small political actions (Baumgardner and Richards 126 202). This current course is
very similar to the direction of other highly organic movements such as sustained dialogue. Feminism
though, is particularly well documented, justified, and understood. Thus by comparing the feminist
movement s present tack to that of sustained dialogue, it will be possible to gain insight into the

I would like to expand this and say that the dominant culture s constant barrage of feedback may
obscure mocking or satirical actions for the actual individuals performing them. It is quite possible
that enactors of contextual actions will be applauded by the dominant culture which misses the
subtlety, and that this may lead to an obfuscation of their message or even to a corruption of their own
beliefs as the appeal of acceptance becomes increasingly prevalent.
Contextual actions are directed at subversion based on an individual s defined sense of identity, but
these actions may become greatly skewed as the context is removed or modified. In her essay Under
Western Eyes: Feminist Scholarship and Colonial Discourses. , Chandra Talpade Mohanty
demonstrates how we misunderstand oppression within other cultures because we do not understand
the specific context of women in that culture (Mohanty 335, 337, 340). We can use this to draw a
parallel to our contextual actions, in that individuals outside of the context may miss the significance
of an action. This occurs not only for individuals in different situations within the same dominant
culture, but more severely for individuals of different cultures. The problem here is that because
individuals do not understand a particular action as being subversive the result is that the deed
normalizes a certain behavior as being what is

Voltaire s Views Toward English French Religion, Government, and Scientific Advancements
After 1688, England became a constitutional monarchy under the rule of Mary and William. English
society evolved from embracing the absolute monarchy to one that introduces new thought processes
and beliefs. In Voltaire s Letters on England, he contributes the development of England to its
respectable regards toward religion, governmental systems, and scientific advancements. He contrasts
these practices with those of the less respectable Frenchmen, and reveals the different outcomes of the
two nations. Following the Reformation, there was a great division within the Church between the
Catholics and Protestants. This tension was eased during the reign of Queen Elizabeth with the
passing of the Act of Supremacy in 1559, which created the Church of England and consequently the
Anglican Church. Eventually Anglicanism became known as the New Catholicism . While the pope
was no longer recognized, bishops, and many aspects of medieval heritage was retained under the
Anglican Church. It was highly supported by many elites due to its powerful expression of culture. In
Voltaire s letters, he acknowledges that even though everyone is allowed to practice their own religion,
the true religion that in which a man makes his fortune is the Church of England. It was very difficult

Abstract Layoffs, frequently called downsizing, describe the process in which companies remove
temporarily or indefinitely a number of employees from their payroll. The reasons why companies
downsize are related to dramatic changes occurring in the environment of the organization.
Globalization and the breakdown of trade barriers among nations and the emergence of technology
and automation have also necessitated companies to downsize. For companies to practice effective

This may make the company lose a market share in its industry or respond to fierce competition from
its rivals resulting in the need for the company to cut costs through altering its size to fit its market and

rationale for downsizing by the company appears to be the need for survivial and the ability to
compete in the new global economy (Beylerian and Kleiner, 2003). Strategies for Layoffs and
Downsizing For the company to practice effective and successful downsizing, the following steps
should be included: Education Reinforcement of the company goals and values Honesty/dignity at all

needs of the organization through regular meetings with employees in focus groups or feedback

and at the same time, it will help the management to design an effective downsizing program.
Education can also take the form of training the employees to look beyond their existing roles and
duties thus prepare them for taking additional tasks and roles in the event of a downsizing.

The Use Of Unreasonable Force And The Fourth Amendment
USE OF TASER, IN PROBE AND PRONG MODE, AND CAROTID HOLD AGAINST MR.
CORDOVA
The use of unreasonable force is constitutionally excessive and violates the Fourth Amendment.
Graham v. Connor, 490 U.S. 386, 394 96 (1989). There is no per se rule in determining whether an
officer s actions are reasonable under the Fourth Amendment. Scott, 550 U.S. at 383. The courts
typically balance the nature and quality of the intrusion on the individual s Fourth Amendment
interests against countervailing governmental interests at stake. Bryan v. MacPherson, 630 F.3d 805,
823 (9th Cir. 2010) (quoting Tennessee v. Garner, 471 U.S. 1, 8 (1985)). However, courts, considering
the totality of circumstances, balance the following factors to determine if an officer used force is
unreasonable: (1) the severity of the crime at issue, (2) whether the suspect posed an immediate threat
to the safety of the officers or others, and (3) whether the suspect was actively resisting arrest or
attempting to evade arrest by flight. Graham, 490 U.S. at 396. Because force can be unreasonable even
without physical blows or injuries, the analysis under Graham allows the court to determine
objectively the amount of force necessary in a particular situation. MacPherson, 630 F.3d at 826.
A. Officer Woodward use of Taser in Probe Mode
The Court in Bryan v. MacPherson stated that when the officer used the Taser with the probes,
aluminum darts tipped with stainless tell barbs connected to the Taser insulated wires, toward the
target at a rate of over 160 feet per second. MacPherson, 630 F.3d at 824. The Court noted that once a
person is struck, the Taser delivers a 1200 volt into the individual s muscles, making the impact
powerful. Id. at 824. The electrical impulse instantly overrides the victim s central nervous system
paralyzing the muscles throughout the body, rendering the target limp and helpless making the person
experience excruciating pain that radiates throughout the body. Id.; see Draper v. Reynolds, 369 F.3d
1270, 1273 (11th Cir. 2004); see also Lewis v. Downey, 581 F.3d 467, 475 (7th Cir. 2009). Although
the uses of Tasers by law enforcement can help defuse a dangerous situation, the force must be

Pathology of Myasthenia Gravis Since MG has subtypes the pathology of this disorder needs to be
analyzed by the autoantibody profile and the condition of the thymus (Meriggioli and Sanders, 2009).
Pathologic antibodies target certain areas of the postsynaptic site of the skeletal muscle. In addition
hyperplasia of the thymus or thymic tumors are vary influential in the disease process (Meriggioli and
Sanders, 2012). Abnormalities of the thymus can lead to the development of the autoantibodies that
target AChR, which ultimately triggers muscle weakness (Meriggioli and Sanders, 2012). . One
pathological path of MG starts with antibodies against AChR, and this is the most prevalent type of
MG. AChR myasthenia gravis occurs in 80% of patients that have this ocular or generalized disease,
and the autoantibodies that disrupt AChR functions can arise from abnormalities in the thymus (Nacu,
Anderson, Lisnic, Owe, Gilhus, 2015).
Normal function of the postsynaptic receptor involves binding with acetylcholine, which causes
depolarization and ultimately muscle contraction (Meriggioli and Sanders, 2012). In this autoimmune
disorder several actions can occur involving antibodies that oppose normal function of AChRs and
result in disruption and damage of the receptor. Anti AChR antibodies can block acetylcholine by
binding, cause complement lysis of motor endplate, or cause receptor degradation by triggering cross
linking (Meriggioli and Sanders, 2012).

The Incident Of Troy University s Homecoming
Something bad is about to happen, I stated as I looked over to my cousin s best friend. Apparently, I
had spoken too soon. Pow! Pow! Shots were fired. Crowds of people were frantically running in every
direction. What had just happened was not expected and had definitely never taken place before. Troy
University s Homecoming Weekend in the past years had never encountered violence on this level.
There was maybe a fight here and there, but never gunshots. I had never been so scared in my life.

members of the fight get up from the ground and reach into his pocket, I knew what was coming next.
Fear immediately took over my body. Pow! Pow! Shots were fired. Crowds of people were frantically
running in every direction. I began to bang on the door of the building in terror. Thankfully, someone
inside the party heard the gunshots, and ran to open the door for us. Everyone stampeded into the
lobby of Sartain Hall like a herd of animals. I looked over to my right, in hopes that at least my cousin
had made it inside the building. She was nowhere to be found. I desperately began to search for my
cousin amongst the crowd of flustered people. Tia! I m right here!

Extraversion is when our energy moves toward the outer world; the world outside of us. Introversion is when our energy moves toward the inner world or the world inside of us (Carl jung and psychological types, n.d.). Jung believed that our orientation to the world, whether that be introverted or extroverted, is the foundation of our personality. Although most tend to go back and forth these two energies on a daily basis depending on the environment we find ourselves in, Jung believed that we feel most comfortable in one of these worlds over the other. In addition to being either more extraverted or introverted, Jung theorized that these alone could not account for behavioral differences he observed in people. From the first time I understood the meaning of what free will was, I believed in it 100%. I had the right and ability to choose what ever I liked. Not only did I believe that I had free will but if I ever heard otherwise I felt that the other person did not have a clear understanding of what free will was, and as a result I could demonstrate a fairly strong persuasive argument opposing anything but the existence of free will. We can assume that the majority of people would want to live in that situation and therefore follow what is being asked of them. Now is that there free will? I don t think so. The fact that they choose to live is based on their enjoyment of life and there lessons that they have been taught by their upbringing, this is their environment. The same would be true on an extreme end. Somebody may make the decision to not obey and sacrifice his or her life because of extreme misery and discontent. Furthermore, the reason for the unhappiness may be a result of heredity. The victim s mother could have used drugs, or something similar that which had an effect on her child. God plays an interesting role in this explanation of free will. Presently, after having about 7 years of religious education I feel like I am educated enough to speak of God. • 9. Twelfth Night Duality In Act 1, Scene 2 of Twelfth Night, as Viola lays down her plans before the captain, she speaks about a major theme of the play: the way a person seems outwardly versus their true self. Viola says she is aware people cannot be trusted based on their looks, but trusts the captain. She then requests his help so she can be dressed as a boy for the remainder of the play. The way she behaves also hits on another theme, the contrast between people that can act as a balance. Through comparison, she can be seen as a counterbalance to Sebastian in the way they both conduct themselves. The majority of the characters have a twin of their own to act as a sort of foil. Viola is easily assured that her brother may still be alive, while Sebastian is certain his sister is dead. Olivia and Orsino also act as the counterbalance to one another. While both are absorbed in their own melancholy moods, Orsino does it for the love he desires and Olivia does it for loved ones she s lost. Despite their opposing approaches towards wooing, they both end up with a love of their own. Another interesting counterbalance is between the captain and Antonio. The captain saved Viola, but after accepting money to help her, he went his separate way, never expressing feelings for her. In contrast, Antonio rescued Sebastian, then gave him money and followed him, all the while expressing love for him. Then there is Sir Toby and Malvolio, perhaps two of the most evident opposites in the play because of the way Malvolio actively opposes Sir Toby. Malvolio is somber and serious. He wants people to respect him and kisses up to Olivia. Sir Toby, however, is more of a clown than Feste, staying up to all hours of the night, drinking and carelessly waking the house with his singing. Malvolio does what he can to seem above his station, but Sir Toby does not worry what others think and often seems below his station. Another figure of speech used is the phrase changing tide which is a metaphor for representing the highs and lows of one s relationship. Every stanza always starts with the phrase; sitting on the beach chairs, this repetition reinforces the idea of relaxation and enjoyment the two couples are having. But often the tyranny that this new nation itself took part in is largely glossed over. It is largely accepted that America unfairly pushed out the Native Americans from their homelands, but the means in which they did so was crueler than the British tyranny that we rebelled against. The Shawnees, as well as several other Indian tribes, believed that the land they existed on was an island. They believed that the Great Spirit recreated the world following a flood and chose the Shawnee people as the first people to reintroduce to the world, to this piece of land (Calloway 34). With the severity of the number of individuals with disabilities in the school system, the controversy of the best way to support them arises. One of the solutions of this controversy is the issue of full inclusion. It is quite possible that enactors of contextual actions will be applauded by the dominant culture which misses the subtlety, and that this may lead to an obfuscation of their message or even to a corruption of their own beliefs as the appeal of acceptance becomes increasingly prevalent. Contextual actions are directed at subversion based on an individual s defined sense of identity, but these actions may become greatly skewed as the context is removed or modified. In her essay Under Western Eyes: Feminist Scholarship and Colonial Discourses. , Chandra Talpade Mohanty demonstrates how we misunderstand oppression within other cultures because we do not understand the specific context of women in that culture (Mohanty 335, 337, 340). We can use this to draw a parallel to our contextual actions, in that individuals outside of the context may miss the significance of an action. • 37. The Use Of Unreasonable Force And The Fourth Amendment USE OF TASER, IN PROBE AND PRONG MODE, AND CAROTID HOLD AGAINST MR. CORDOVA The use of unreasonable force is constitutionally excessive and violates the Fourth Amendment. Graham v. Connor, 490 U.S. 386, 394 96 (1989). There is no per se rule in determining whether an officer s actions are reasonable under the Fourth Amendment. Scott, 550 U.S. at 383. The courts typically balance the nature and quality of the intrusion on the individual s Fourth Amendment interests against countervailing governmental interests at stake. Bryan v. MacPherson, 630 F.3d 805, 823 (9th Cir. 2010) (quoting Tennessee v. Garner, 471 U.S. 1, 8 (1985)). However, courts, considering the totality of circumstances, balance the following factors to determine if an officer used force is unreasonable: (1) the severity of the crime at issue, (2) whether the suspect posed an immediate threat to the safety of the officers or others, and (3) whether the suspect was actively resisting arrest or attempting to evade arrest by flight. Graham, 490 U.S. at 396. Because force can be unreasonable even without physical blows or injuries, the analysis under Graham allows the court to determine objectively the amount of force necessary in a particular situation. MacPherson, 630 F.3d at 826. A. Officer Woodward use of Taser in Probe Mode The Court in Bryan v. In addition hyperplasia of the thymus or thymic tumors are vary influential in the disease process (Meriggioli and Sanders, 2012). Abnormalities of the thymus can lead to the development of the autoantibodies that target AChR, which ultimately triggers muscle weakness (Meriggioli and Sanders, 2012). . One pathological path of MG starts with antibodies against AChR, and this is the most prevalent type of MG. AChR myasthenia gravis occurs in 80% of patients that have this ocular or generalized disease, and the autoantibodies that disrupt AChR functions can arise from abnormalities in the thymus (Nacu, Anderson, Lisnic, Owe, Gilhus, 2015).
