Prevention Of The Anti Vaccination Movement
Coughs, headaches, aches and pains, fever, or runny noses are all common symptoms. They are
symptoms that can lead to anything from the common cold to a deadly viral infection. It is because of
this that vaccinations are a fundamental part of society and why doctors and parents alike advocate for
hand washing, hydrating, and staying home when you are ill. Disease prevention is a corner stone in
today s society and has been one for around 200 years since; Edward Jenner created and administered
the first smallpox inoculation. However, while always controversial the last few centuries have proved
to lend unfounded credence to the anti vaccination movement. Due to the publication of faulty studies
along with spiritual and even political beliefs vaccinations have gone from being viewed as a well
respected and endorsed medical procedure to a breeding ground for further infections and possible
physical and mental impairments.
Vaccination, autism, and bowel disease will be forever linked together due to Dr. Andrew Wakefield.
Wakefield published a study in 1998 on twelve patients whom he said proved that vaccinations could
cause autism along with gastrointestinal disease. However, in this study he altered and misrepresented
all the study participants medical histories and in doing so impacted medicine and public health for the
foreseeable future (Cohen). Although the study was proven false within a year and Wakefield was
stripped of his medical license individuals still

The Digital Of Digital Master
In this 21st century, becoming digital is very critical for many businesses across different industries. A
few companies have found their successful paths by leveraging the digital aspects of the business.
Those companies who have been successful in the digital world, regardless of the industry they are in,
are referred to as Digital Master . Digital Master is company who has both the digital capability and
leadership capability. It is also defined as having strong overarching digital vision, excellent
governance across silos, digital initiatives generating business value in measureable ways, and strong
digital culture (Westerman, Bonnet, McAfee, 2014). Among all of these characteristics, a compelling
customer experience and core operations play crucial roles in building digital capability. This paper is
going to elaborate on the successful stories of two companies, Burberry and Asian Paints, which have
created both compelling digital customer experiences and exploiting the power of core operations
(Westerman, Bonnet, McAfee, 2014). Firstly, there are three things that Digital Master does differently
in creating a compelling customer experience: Designing customer experience from the outside in,
creating reach and customer engagement, putting customer data at the heart of the experience, and
seamlessly meshing physical and digital experiences in new ways (Westerman, Bonnet, McAfee,
2014). I. Compelling digital customer experience: Burberry: In 2006, Burberry had

Political Stereotypes In Scandal
The political thriller Scandal which began airing in 2012 has become an immensely popular television
show. The protagonist Olivia Pope is portrayed by the actress Kerry Washington. Olivia Pope is a
crisis manager who runs her own firm, Pope Associates, which specializes in managing political
situations and making the problems of the elite go away. Scandal, challenges the mainstream blueprint
used to construct most television shows in Western society. Primarily, Scandal breaks down
stereotypes of African Americans and females in general in society. There are many ways in which
Scandal achieves these goals. Scandal has a diverse cast of characters normally not portraited on
television. The characters do not conform to the stereotypes that have made other similar characters
successful. Scandals also uses on screen and off screen choices that contrast choices typically made by
the television industry. Through these different choices Scandal portrays African Americans and
women on television in a way which is far from common in the industry.
Television is widely considered a more racial and gender friendly medium of popular culture.
However, prime time television is not nearly as progressive as people believe, and is still a male
dominated industry. In a report done by the Institute for Diversity and Empowerment at Annenberg,
11,306 speaking characters were evaluated and 66.5% were male, while 33.5% were female [1].
Moreover, 41.6% of females in television took leading or

Execution Methods In The Holocaust
Execution Methods used in the Holocaust
When the Holocaust is mentioned most people immediately think of the concentration camps. They
predict scrawny people in dirty striped uniforms staring closely as the others are numerously getting
buried, or being bulldozed into mass graves. Those horrific scenes were real but they are not the entire
Holocaust. There were other methods of execution throughout the
Holocaust but the use of gas chambers was by far the most common. The Holocaust was the best
wellordered case of persecution and murder of six million Jews by the Nazi party. The Nazis came to
power in Germany on January 1933, they believed that Germans were racially superior and that the
Jews were inferior, and were a threat to the so called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Maximillian Alvarez
The author of the article, Maximillian Alvarez, begins by explaining how his classes are structured. He
explains the environment he tries to build and details a series of questions he asks his students to
ponder about. Much like our first day of class, he asks his students to think about their opinions and
whether they are entitled to have them or not. As the article progresses the writer proposes whether all
opinions should be treated equally. Alvarez employs the topic of climate change to convey that when
we give opinions the same validity sometimes we end up with a certain someone that says climate
change is not a real issue which then leads to a topic getting more media coverage than it should.

On January 1,1998, the six constituent municipalities amalgamated in individual municipality. Toronto
is a major economic and financial center of Canada. Although amalgamated six municipalities and one
borough led to a boarder land, it brought a series of problems ranging from financial to community
service (Keil Boudreau, 2005, p9). This briefing note will seek to address the amalgamation cannot
result in saving cost and improving service efficiency for city of Toronto. It will suggest policy options
that the municipality can collect property from the property. This briefing note will also propose that a
wide range of tax systems should be established. This briefing note will also provide its

Layoffs brought much saving, but new positions post was added later, which added more jobs,
meaning more government spending. Debt of Toronto has been rising, and the interest payments on
debt have placed a huge burden on the operating of the city. Unifying wages, which means paying the
same salary to employees of six local municipalities for the same work, increased salary costs. As for
financing issues, in 2003, Toronto did not gain any fund neither from the federal government, nor gain
the fund from the provincial government, that is even fewer than 38 big cities in united
states(Schwartz,2009,p.487).The ability to raise revenue of Toronto is governed by Ontario s
municipal law, and provincial and federal municipalities are reluctant to provide additional financial
assistance. However, most of the 38 big cities in the united states have the legal right to use sales taxes
and income taxes of city hall, and are greatly assisted by the state and federal governments
(Schwartz,2009, p.487). Capital expenditures in Toronto mainly include the construction of public
facilities, environmental maintenance and the service capital assets required for enterprises and
individuals. More importantly, a largely number of infrastructures should be provided and maintained
for more people in this new city. In 2004, the government received more funding from the provincial
government in order to meet its infrastructure needs, which, however, causes a substantial increase in

Managing Information Systems
The aim of this assignment is to see the requirements for developing and managing a comprehensive
Management Information system for an organization. In today s business environment it is getting
harder and harder for organization s to not only survive but to compete against other organizations.
Information technology plays a big part in helping companies compete and survive. Companies that

orders can be passed down. Most of a mangers time is spent 1 Passing information and ideas upwards

Analysis Of On Truth
Today s political climate is a polarizing topic. Every form of media has an opinion on it from major
news outlets to adult animated sitcoms. Harry Frankfurt s book On Truth is relevant to the political
storm that is brewing in American society due to the manipulation of the truth by political figures and
mainstream media. Frankfurt approaches the importance of truth in a unique fashion and vilifies lies
and those who spread them. This directly relates to the election year and how the truth is shrouded in
mystery. The Daodejing and Socrates writings, while both important in literature are not as pertinent
to the charged political climate that is taking place in the United States right now. For the first time in
American history there has been mass protests across the country due to the Republican nominated
president elect Donald J. Trump. People from many major cities went to the streets to say things like
Not My President and Never Trump. It is safe to say Trump s campaign has been riddled with
controversy and has been criticized by both major political parties. Trump s campaign is not the only
one with problems. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has been met with constant problems
throughout her campaign she has been accused of numerous corruption scandals. The American public
is deeply divided and believes they had to pick between the lesser of two evils. This is all a distortion
of the truth. The media is turning into a propaganda machine who reports biased

The World Of Private Security Essay
In todays world of private security, secrecy is essential. But what about when those secrets are
incidents which breach the confines of the law or human rights. Should they still be kept secrets,
should they be ignored by government regulators and poorly investigated by congressional
committees, or should they be exposed and issued proper sanctions? Since the beginning of the War
on Terror there have been a multitude of incidents involving private security companies which are also
sometimes known as mercenary armies. These incidents, in many cases, have tried to be covered up or
discredited by the companies involved. In some instances, bribes were even involved and exposed but
the companies were still allowed to operate. Many of them even received more contracts from the US
government! Private security companies around the world provide essential services that range from
the protection of VIP s to the installation of security systems to the building of FOB s (Forward
Operating Base), command bases, and even roads. Personally, I like the idea of PSC s (Private
Security Companies) and am even looking to go into the private security industry but my choice
would come after careful consideration and research on the policies and procedures of the company.
That is where the problem today lies, with the policies and procedures of PSC s as well as the lack of
policies and procedures imposed onto them by the government. Overall I believe that these companies
are effective but that

Narrative Essay On Electroconvulsive Therapy
I am not sure how many years I met with Sue, though my reference to years and not weeks already
tells you it went beyond the twelve initial sessions. Therapy is similar to a book without a cover, you
need to dive in to understand what you are reading and only afterwards do the contents emerge. After
the sessions finished at the post adoption centre, Sue and I agreed to continue therapy but privately in
her home based in Hampstead Heath. Sue was a qualified psychotherapist, or I m assuming perhaps
she was a counsellor? Not checking her credentials, she explained she specialised in psychosynthesis;
never heard of it. The founding father of psychosynthesis (not the guy who coined the term for his
electroconvulsive therapy) was Roberto Assagioli. He wrote a few book books, of which I didn t read
but read another one on psychosynthesis but I would have to remember the contents first before

Old Ben And Fox Hunt Comparison Essay
Some things can be very similar, but also very different. For example, stories can be different. They
have different plots and different authors, but they can also have similar elements and plot ideas. Some
examples of that in a story could be that a character makes a friend, or attempts to achieve a goal. In
this essay, I will be comparing and contrasting Old Ben and Fox Hunt , two stories with different plots
and similar elements. While some similarities are evident between Old Ben and Fox Hunt , the
differences are also distinct.
There are many similarities between Old Ben and Fox Hunt . One of them is the use of foreshadowing
in both narratives. Foreshadowing is when there are indications throughout the text that hint at events
to come. In Old Ben , it is foreshadowed that the snake will die in the end. In Fox Hunt , it is
foreshadowed that Lee is the fox spirit. Another similarity is that the two stories both have main
characters that are either animals, or have animal characteristics, such as Ben from Old Ben , who is a
snake, and Andy, from Fox Hunt , who is part fox. A closing similarity is that both of the stories use
narrative structure. Narrative structure is when a narrative is arranged in chronological order. Looking
at these examples, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conversely, there are also distinct differences. One of those differences is Fox Hunt using flashbacks
to tell a story. Flashbacks inform you of events that happened in the past. Old Ben does not use any
flashbacks at all. A second difference is that Old Ben transpires over a longer period of time; months
pass during the story. In Fox Hunt , the story only takes place over a few weeks. A concluding
difference is that Fox Hunt uses fantasy ideas, such as fox spirits, while Old Ben does not, and only
uses real life ideas. Therefore, Old Ben and Fox Hunt are quite different in many

Analysis Of Emily Dickinson s My Life Had Stood-A Loaded Gun
In Emily Dickinson, My Life had stood A Loaded gun , we as the reader see how a female protagonist
stand s up for herself in defense of the male antagonist. However, in two contrasting literary theory s
we see a difference of opinion. The first literary theory is by Sarah Ahmed and the theory is displayed
in her writing called, Living a Feminist Life. Throughout her work she displays the importance for
feminism in todays world and how one should separate themselves if necessary. The second work that
we have is by Donna Haraway called A Cyborg Manifesto, the main idea throughout the work is
contrasting with Ahmed in the importance for unification. The unification the Haraway uses is by
explaining cyborgs and how humans would react with them, but more importantly how unification of
humans and machines effects us. Throughout the essay Haraway and Ahmed s theory s will be
explained and the differences shown. In Dickinson s novel the first stanza shows how the woman is
being passed by without having any voice, it specifically states, My Life had stood a Loaded Gun In
Corners till a Day The Owner passed identified And carried Me away . In the first stanza it is clear
how the woman is referring to herself as a gun that is of no use to her owner . The owner is
presumably a man and has minimal use for her as someone would for a gun. With that being said a
gun is a weapon built with an immense power and it is ofter overlooked how powerful it is. The same

The Internet A New News
The Internet a New News
A fact is something that is said to be indisputably true. Facts are key in portraying any storyline or
narrative. If facts are important in conveying relevant information the media should be concerned with
reporting only facts that provide an accurate description of events. Unfortunately, certain media outlets
have issues with reporting solely facts. The media can be an amazing tool for dispersing information
amongst the masses and can ensure that everyone is educated on relevant and important topics. The
media can also be used as propaganda to further an agenda that may not be in everyone s best interest.
Regardless of what media is used for it is a very powerful outlet and whoever controls the media
outlets can control the publics perception of a given situation.
In today s society 50% of the world population is thought to use the internet (Internet). That is an
astounding 3,675,824,813 people (Internet). Considering this overwhelming total it can be said that
most of the media in today s society revolves around the internet. TV news stations and newspapers
are viewed by far less individuals on a global scale than the internet. For the purpose of being able to
zone in on the main source of media in the world today only media involving the internet will be
discussed.
Moreover, societies seem to benefit from open, free, and pluralistic media systems as they support the

The Disease Of Parkinson s Disease
Abstract
Parkinson s disease has been cataloged as one of the most serious and slowly progressive
neurodegenerative disease that affects a wide array of motor and non motor aspects that impact the
function of a person. Afflicting over four million Americans and the second most common
neurological disorder after Alzheimer s disease, Parkinson s continues to take its toll on the
neurological health of many(Constantinescu et al, 2007 ). James Parkinson, a British physician first
coined this disorder as shaky palsy in 1817 and included clinical manifestations of this disease
involving tremors with muscle weakness, bradycardia, rigidity, unstable posture, and gait abnormality
that becomes worse over time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From a clinical diagnosis standpoint, Parkinson s is solely dependent on the physical symptoms that
have been caused by the deficiency of dopamine because of the lack of neuron cells in the substantia
nigra. Without high end laboratory maneuvers and MRIs of the brain, Parkinson s can already be
diagnosed just by observing the physicality of the patient. MRIs are usually used to rule out any other
disorder that could also present the same symptoms as Parkinson s. The primary symptoms in regards
to this disease include akinesia, or loss or impairment of voluntary movements, bradykinesia, or slow
movement, trembling in hands, arms head, and legs, stiffness in the trunk portion of the body and
muscle flexors of the limbs, and unstable posture affecting balance. Parkinson s is chronic and slow
progressive and over time patients will begin to experience difficulty in normal tasks such as walking,
talking, and other day to day activities (NINDS, 2013).
Despite the difficult symptoms that a patient might face, Parkinson s disease has been deemed
idiopathic, meaning that no cause has been found for it. Unlike an airborne or sexual disease,
Parkinson s is not transmittable. Scientists have linked some cases of Parkinson s disease to be
traceable through certain genetic mutations, but others have been

Questions On The Smart Agriculture System
6 System Use Case This Section will describe two use cases for the smart agriculture system
implemented for this project. Each example will first describe the shortcomings and wastes of current
agriculture systems. Then it will be shown how the smart agriculture system can be used to optimize
that system through the use of data and data analysis
6.1 Use Case 1: Wine Vineyards Aside from technology and software development, one of the most
profitable industries in the San Francisco Bay Area is wine. Wine is a very valued drink ranging in
price from a few dollars, to a few hundred, to even a thousand dollars per bottle. Wines from
California are an industry leader, accounting for over $25 billion dollars in sales in 2015 [9]. Wine ...

Vineyard owners were forced to become experts in a wide variety of fields so that they could use their
best intuition to select locations and provide the best growing conditions for their grapes [9]. This is
where having a smart agricultural system can make a huge impact. Each environmental condition that
the grape vine experiences can become a data point that can be tracked monitored and archived. Using
this data the vineyard owner can determine what conditions make for the best grapes. The goal of the
smart agriculture system is to optimize the taste of the grape. Grape taste varies year to year, season to
season, and region to region. Each vineyard has unique conditions that will result in unique grapes.
These conditions are almost impossible to recreate. However, with the use of an extensive sensor
network it may be possible to quantify the growth environments and correlate that to wine vintages
that were especially good. These growth conditions could then be applied to green houses that would
grow the grapes within a controlled environment.
6.2 Use Case 2: Pistachio Trees Another common crop grown in California are pistachios. Pistachios
grow on trees and require hot, dry summers and mild winters. In addition to ideal weather conditions
pistachios also require a huge amount of water to grow. If pistachios are not given enough water
during their production months the pistachios will produce blanks.

Market Segmentation in Hospitality Research
Market segmentation in hospitality research: no longer a sequential process

Explores development in market segmentation relating to hospitality and tourism research published
between 1990 and 1998. The literature is divided into three sections: segmenting a market; market
targeting and marketing positioning. Identifies new areas for research, deeper examination of
segments, identification of difference between markets, and more segments.

Rosenberg Spies Essay
Rosenberg Spies
In 1951, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were convicted of passing information to the Union of Soviet
Socialist
Republics (USSR) concerning the construction of nuclear weapons. In 1953, the United States
Government executed them. Some say, the Rosenbergs received their just punishment. Many
historians feel that the trial was unfair, and that international claims for clemency were wrongly
ignored. These historians claim that the Rosenbergs were assassinated by the US government. This
report will be an analysis of the trial, the events which led up to it, and its aftermath. What Led to the

The FBI appointed James Skardon to confront Fuchs. Skardon was a renowned spy catcher, who had
obtained confessions from many, including the traitor William Joyce. On December 21 1949, Skardon
went to talk with Fuchs in his laboratory at the Harwell
Atomic Research Establishment. To Skardon s surprise,
Fuchs was eager to talk. Apparently, Fuchs wanted to talk because he was very upset with the Soviet
Union s postwar policy in Eastern Europe. He did not say everything, but it was a start. After many
meetings, Skardon was able to get
Fuchs to disclose even more. Fuchs thought that if he owned up to his past, it would be forgotten, or at
least forgiven. He was wrong. Fuchs said, At first I thought that all I would do was inform the Russian
authorities that work on the atomic bomb was going on... I did what I consider the worst that I could
have done, namely to give information about the principle of the design of the plutonium bomb. The
FBI later found out from Fuchs that his contact was Raymond. They had only met a handful of times
and Fuchs did not know much about him. On March
1, 1950, Fuchs was put on trial. After a trial that lasted only an hour and a half, he was convicted of
four accounts of espionage and sentenced to 14 years in jail. The reason he was not killed was that he
gave secrets to an ally. If he had given the same information to an enemy, he would have been

The Importance Of Religion In Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. knew from an early age how important religion was for his family. King came
from a family of preachers, his father and grandfather, who helped lead him to also being a preacher.
King went to college for theology and continued his academic career by earning a doctorate degree in
theological studies. These degrees will help guide King in his writings and speeches. King uses
religion to prove the point on why the protests are not a bad thing to the audience of the eight
clergymen. King wrote a letter that reaches audiences that weren t thought of when it was written. He
knew of the clergyman and many of the then present day populations that were going to read his story,
but the letters have touched so many people in the present day. King knew his then present day
audience to a tee. He starts his letter with one of his key indicators; My dear Fellow Clergymen (263).
While doing this he knew who was going to read the letter but also that these people will understand
his references to religion, in which the letter is littered with references to the Bible. King uses religion
to prove why he is in Birmingham. He is there to spread the message, but was thrown into jail and is
trying to prove a point on why there is significance for the protest in Birmingham; I am in
Birmingham because injustice is here. Just as the eight century prophets left their little villages and
carried their thus saith the Lord far beyond the boundaries of their home town, and just

Fraud Triangle And Red Flags
Option #1 Fraud Triangle and Red Flags
Plutonium entered the Internet start up boom in 1988. It experienced rapid growth that resulted in a
haphazard information technology (IT) system in which pieces of technology were implemented
quickly leaving poor integration and data integrity. To strengthen data integrity and create an
integrated IT system, the organization installed a billing system, Gateway, which required testing
utilizing an imitation yet live credit card number to test the software and integration.
Several months after integration, a piracy incident involving a member of the integration team was
detected. The incident was resolved with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
with the Operations team employee, Chris, warned and suspended with a formal warning letter to be
completed. Due to a conversation between the employee and his manager, Jonathan, the letter was not
written and months later the behavior of the employee raised suspicions with Jonathan indicating
potential fraud.
Potential Fraud Indicators The Fraud Triangle
To enable fraudulent activities, three elements comprised of the fraud triangle must exist: perceived
pressure, perceived opportunity, and rationalization of the fraudulent activities. In the case of
Plutonium, the elements of the fraud triangle were present and several factors increased the
opportunities for fraudulent activities. Though several types of fraud can be committed within an

Honourable judges, teaches and my fellow friends, good morning to all of you. Today I am going to

In the city of Palermo, on the island of Sicily, there lived a poor fisherman.
He was so poor, he didn t even own a boat. Every day he carried his net down to the sea, tossed it into
the water and pulled it up at the end of the day.
One day when he pulled in the net he saw something sparkling. At first he thought it was a doll. But he
looked closer, he saw that it was a little mermaid, only two or three feet long.
At first he was frightened and wanted to throw her back in the water. He was a superstitious man, like

And that s what they did. Marina was fascinated.
Marina had never been happier in her entire life, not even when she lived in the sea. Now she lives

Action Potential Research Paper
An action potential is the rapid depolarisation of the membrane potential to +40mV from its resting
potential of 70mV. The resting potential of a neuron is the difference in electrical voltage between the
inside and outside of the neuron s membrane.
An action potential is a short electrical impulse generated at the axon hillock which travels the length
of an axon. Its generation happens in three distinct stages, depolarisation, repolarisation and
hyperpolarisation. When the threshold of excitation is reached, depolarisation starts, the threshold is
between 55mV and 65mV in most neurons. When the neuron is stimulated voltage activated Sodium
(Na+) channels open, allowing Na+ ions to rush into the neuron. This reverses the polarity in the
neuron towards its peak of +40mV. At this peak Na+ channels ... Show more content on

In this stage, there are too many K+ ions outside the axon, causing the membrane potential to be too
low. The resting membrane potential is returned to 70mV after these ions diffuse.
The propagation of an action potential describes the movement of an action potential along an axon.
This is done through the regeneration of the action potential at different points as Na+ ions move
along the axon. The propagation of an action potential along a myelinated axon is quicker than in
unmyelinated axons. This is due to Saltatory conduction; where an action potential moves from one
node of Ranvier to another, along an axon. Saltatory conduction allows for faster and more efficient
propagation.
Two laws govern the generation and propagation of an action potential, the All or None Law and the
Rate Law. The All or None Law states that if an action potential occurs it will continue to the terminal
buttons without interruption. The Rate Law, however, describes how the different rates of an action
potential represent different stimulus

brothers were wrought up at him, and his father kept the matter in mind... They saw him from afar,

quote above describes the relationship between Joseph and his family in the story Joseph: Favored and

Through the dynamic characters and character experiences that occur within the book, Toni Morrison
is able to illustrate a racist America where society reinforces the idea that the white race is superior.
Colored characters are taught by society that their own race is subordinate and that they are not worthy
of the same amount of respect as their superiors. These characters continue to teach this idea within
their race and create an ideology that even within the same race appearance decides whether or not a
person is worthy. This instills the idea of self hatred and the longing to be a blue eyed middle class

Racism Research Paper On Racism
This research paper strives to test the hypothesis of whether racism is on a rise due to President Trump
being in office or was racism on a rise before President Trump got in office. As stated in the statement
purpose this research question comes from incidents in my own personal life, from social patterns I
have observed, and from the significance of the election of President trump. Growing up in as an
African in America, noticing the racial tensions, and seeing how it has evolved to what it is today in
our society led me to pursue the topic.
Questions to be answered through this research to come up with an answer to the hypothesis are; what
the reason why now there is an emergence of all these hate groups that were not relevant before the
election of President trump. The question of racism in the United States, whether it has increased over
the years. The question of if have we learnt to tolerate and accept racism as being part of our society.
To conduct this research the methods to be used are as follows; examining newspaper articles, news
stories, internet articles, and journals, and books would test my hypothesis. Conducting a survey to
find out what others think, and to noting if their views align with my hypothesis will assist in
answering the research questions.
The first method is a literature review. This is the process of searching for, reading, summarizing, and

Confucianism And Daoism Essay
Confucianism and Daoism affected the social structure of early China through culture, education, and
government though the effects varied greatly between these two beliefs. Culture in China is different
due to the teachings of Confucianism that began when Confucius was age twenty three, as well as the
teachings of Daoism because both teachings believed in harmony and living tranquilly. Education was
shaped by Daoism and Confucianism for the reason that Confucians believed everyone should be
educated while Daosits thought it was irrelevant. Since Confucius lived in a time of political unrest
from 551 to 478 B.C.E., he worked to gain political stability whereas the Daosits were indifferent on
that issue.
Culture was impacted by Daoism and Confucianism because the teachings that were proclaimed,
breached on the topic of living a harmonious life filled with respect for one another. Confucianism
especially stressed the idea of reverence towards an older person. With this mentality, it is almost as if
adults are never to be at fault. Fathers were supposed to be revered and loved by the children. Though

Gun Control versus Gun Rights Essay
Introduction
In America guns have been a part of the country s society since it s birth. Throughout history the
citizens of the US have used firearms to protect the nation, protect their families, hunt for food and

owners in the US, according to a National Institute of Justice survey conducted in 1994. Looking at
firearm production data from 2010, various gun manufactures state the figure is as high as 300 million
people. (Agresti and Smith, justfacts.com, 02/12/12). Regardless of the precise number of guns in
America they are an everyday reality. For the gun enthusiast there are a number of activities which in
some families, have taken on an almost religious reverence. Hunting is engaged in by 23 to 43.7
million Americans, according to a national survey in 2001, conducted by the United States Fish and
Wildlife Service. Generations of families , fathers , grandfathers and sons have enjoyed the great
outdoors, refining and taking pleasure in hunting.Target shooting, collecting and self protection
constitutes the remainder of legal gun owners in the U.S. Groups such as the National Rifle
Association are the most outspoken and self proclaimed defender of gun owner s rights. In 2011 the
N.R.A. joined a lawsuit to continue its primary role in America. In a court update Chris Cox writes
(2011), The NRA fights to enforce and extend gun owners rights. Cox s writing on this case illustrates
the divide between state and federal government restrictions, and

Different Organisational Structures And Cultures
1.1 Compare and contrast different organisational structures and cultures.
Organisational structure
According to Robbins and Judge (2008), the structure of an organisation determines the way duties
and tasks are split as well as coordinated inside the organisation. Any structure utilised by an
organisation would depend on the size of that organisation and also the purpose and goals for which
the organisation stands for (Brooks, 2003). For example, there is the product or activity based
structure, the functional structure and the matrix structure.
Product based structure
In using a product based structure, the major concentration is the activity been carried out. Individuals
from different disciplines work in the same section with a general or common goal. In addition, there
is some form of competition amongst the different sections. However, this type of structure can block
communication and cause a lack of target similarity.
The functional structure
Unlike the functional structure has an arrangement that is based on the role that is performed by the
different sections of the organisation. This means that each unit/department is focused on its area of
capability or expertise and therefore enable them specialise in their areas. For example, the Human
resource department, sales and marketing department, logistics department etc. Usually, someone is
made accountable for this division hence, there is increase in accountability. Functionality is also very
clear. On the other

Lewis And Clark Summary
The object of your mission is to explore the Missouri river, such principal stream of it, as, by it s
course communication with the water of the Pacific ocean may offer the most direct practicable water
communication across this continent, for the purposes of commerce. Thomas Jefferson had chosen to
ask two men to embark on a journey across the unknown land. In April of 1803, President Jefferson
bought the Louisiana Territory from a power hungry man named Napoleon. Buying this land doubled
the size of the United States. There was a major curiosity of what was in the newly purchased land
which inspired Thomas Jefferson to appoint two people to discover and record the newly acquired
land, those men were Lewis and Clark. Lewis and Clark s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the winter of 1804 1805 they made peace and settled into the Mandan tribes home. Here they
met their translator, Toussaint Charbonneau, a french, Canadian trader. Charboneau brought his 16
year old, native American, pregnant, wife, Sacagawea. Sacagawea proved herself to be a very
important person for the expedition. In early May while on the Missouri river, a sudden gust of wind
pushed over the boat knocking out some important supplies. All the important supplies were saved
only by Sacagawea as she threw herself over the side and pulled most of the supplies back into the
boat. On the way to the rocky mountains, The explorers realized they had a problem, they needed
horses to walk up the mountains and to carry all their supplies. On August 11 Lewis spotted a native
on his horse, It happened to be a Shoshone Native American. The group had Charbonneau translate
and ask for horses, The Shoshone then lead them to his chief. Later While Sacagawea translated each
groups words she realized something, the chief, appeared to be her brother. Because of this, the
Shoshones gave the explorers quite a bit of horses and provided them with other important supplies
that they had lost or used. This paragraph proves that without the natives on the explorers side, they
never would have made it to their final destination. The Expedition

Social Differences Between The North And South Dbq Essay
There were many social differences between the North and the South. Southerners were usually rural
farmers who took pride in serving their country in the military. The Northerners were urban people for
the most part, so they had more railroad, canals, and technology. The Industrial Revolution gave
Northern states the development of machinery and capitalism which was responsible for majority of
the North s income. The South, however, didn t have much machinery because they depended on
tobacco which then changed to cotton for most of their income. Their entire way of life was based on
forced labor system.
Slavery played a big part in the causing of the Civil War. However, it was not the entire reason for the
war. The slavery issue was primarily ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the southern states had two representatives that really helped Lincoln s chances of winning.
After Lincoln s win that was when 7 of the lower southern states decided to seceded from the north
and it caused a lot of turmoil. The war began on April 12th, 1861 when Confederate General P.G.T.
Beauregard led a bombardment on Fort Sumter, near Charleston, South Carolina after Anderson
refused to surrender Sumter. This lasted two days and ended with Anderson surrendering it to the
Confederates. After this battle Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Tennessee joined the

What Are Antonio Vivaldi s Accomplishments
Throughout his life Antonio Vivaldi had many achievements. Some were big some were little some
were small but they didn t matter that much to him. His love and talent for music was much better than
anything he could be given. Without his music the classical music genre would be almost non existent.
Antonio Vivaldi had a very interesting childhood. To start off, he was born on March, 4 1678 in
Venice, Italy. He was the eldest child of nine and had four brothers and four sisters. Antonio s father
Battista was a very popular violinist at the time. This was a very big reason Vivaldi grew up to be the
musical legend he is today. Battista often took Antonio to popular concerts and introduced him to
different popular musicians. This was another huge factor that influenced him to play music. When he
thought he had mastered the violin, Antonio decided to try to different woodwind instruments, but he
had asthma and couldn t play longer notes and songs so after a while of discomfort he ... Show more

Something that you may not know about Antonio is that at age 15 he studied to be a priest. After 10
years of studying the lord he was officially ordained. A fun fact about Vivaldi is that they actually
called him il Prete Rosso which means The Red Priest . The other priests called him this due to his red
hair. Sadly, his ten years of studying didn t pay off because he had to end his priesthood because of
unknown medical issues. After he ended his priesthood Vivaldi got bored often so so decided to take
the violin more serious. In fact he took it so seriously that he actually taught it at Ospedale Della Pieta
which was an orphanage. Much like his priesthood this job was short lived. In less than a year Antonio
was voted out of his job six to seven. After this he decided to attend a Festival with his father where
they played the famous 4 Seasons concerto. This event inspired him to write

Muromachi Period Essay
The Muromachi style of Zen Buddhism has influence art and design ever since it s beginning in the
14th century. Although it was influenced by the Chinese styles at a parallel time, they both are still
influential and noticed in today s world.
For years Japanese Ink Painting continued to be consistent with a basis on nature, and simplicity. Was
the beginning of Minimalism in Japan? Was it intentional? The open composition of space and content
on paper is a key of today s design. The simplicity of monochromatic work is still appreciated in
almost every art form.
This is a contrast to the Renaissance that occurred during the same time period. There was never work
similar in Europe, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The monochromatic tones, and vivid, thick lines provide a lot of contrast. It uses washed tints for
more texture on the rock surfaces and shadowed areas, and leaves the paper clean where snow and
space are depicted. The planar view divides the foreground, while the jolt in the cliffs split the entire
upper half of the painting. This provides a stability and balance to the work.
As in most works of this time, he is expressing the simplicity and serenity of the landscape, which is a
parallel to the intended lifestyle of a monk. It is very particular to their culture in the Zen Buddhism
was an important theory of that time. Although, some aspects of the work might be claimed to have
been influenced by the Chinese practices of the same genre.
Ni Zan , and Yuan painter from China, created the Rongxi Studio painting, the most famous piece of
his time. The monochromatic ink painting was very personalized to Ni Zan s self. He was a very
carefree individual. He was very careless in his depiction of his homeland s natural scenery. Contrary
to styles of that time, he was not intending on satisfying any viewer. He solely wanted to paint, and the
brush, ink, and paper were free in his hands.
The Rongxi Studio painting was done in 1372, and is a hanging scroll. Its height is around 30 ,

Save a Life and Adopt from an Animal Shelter
There are great benefits to adopting animals from an animal shelter. One of the biggest is you ll be
saving two life s, the dog or cat you ll be adopting and the one that will be taking it place. Also every
dog and cat entering the shelter are screened for good health and receive all the necessary shots and
are spayed or neutered before they leave to their forever home. Furthermore, the shelter staff will
provide adoption counseling to ensure the right animal is selected for you and your family s needs. All
of this is provide in the adoption fee and is far less than buying a dog or cat from a pet store or
breeder.
The Humane Society of the United States estimates around 6 8 million dogs and cats enter shelters
each year. Sadly, due to the limited space at shelters and too few people adopting, 3 4 million dogs and
cats are euthanized each year in the United States. It is truly shocking and sad to thinking almost three
million dogs and cats are euthanized each year. Most people do not want to adopt a dog or cat from a
shelter because they do not know what they are getting themselves into. Some of the most common
misconceptions of why animals end up in shelters was they have been abused or they have done
something wrong to end up in an animal shelter. Surprisingly this is far from the truth, most animals
are surrendered because of people reasons such as divorces, moves, lack of time, and financial reasons
are just some of the common reasons pets lost their home.

The United States And The European Union
Europe was constantly in civil conflict with each other prior to the aftermath of World War II.
However, at the end of World War II, it became evident that the United States would dominate global
politics. In fact, much of the foreign policy implemented throughout the world were simply just the
goals of the United States and the United States did become the major geopolitical hegemon directing
international policies which other countries would follow. In simpler terms, the United States
frequently exercised power throughout the 20th century. However, with the emergence of the
European Union and it s recent economic rise rivaling that of the United States, some scholars begin
to question whether the United States will be able to maintain its role in the international arena and
what the role of the European Union will be. Thus, the question must be asked, Will the European
Union run the 21st century? Viewing this through an economic lens, the European Union will run the
21st century because of other regions adopting its economic model, the sheer size of the EU economy,
and its overall economic influence and power. First, it is important to examine the readings regarding
the European Union s foreign policy. Here are some general explanations on the arguments from the
following readings about the EU and its role in the 21st century. Kagan argues that the European
Union will not run the 21st century. His reasoning is that although the EU is an economic power, it
lacks

Agricultural Subsidies and Globalisation
Agricultural Subsidies and Globalization
This essay will discuss the effects that agricultural subsidies have on globalization. The main points
that will be covered in regards to subsidies and their effects on worldwide productivity, poverty in
undeveloped countries, the stance of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and International Monetary
Fund (IMF) and some discussion on implementation. First, it would be prudent to define some terms
that will be used in this paper.
Globalization is defined by Charles Hill as, the shift toward a more integrated and interdependent
world economy and includes both the globalization of markets and production. (Hill, 2009, p.6) He
goes on to define subsidies as the payments to a domestic producer ... Show more content on

With an increase in GDP, developing countries would be able to shift resources from a subsistence
level of inputs into agriculture towards infrastructure and education. Agricultural producers in
undeveloped countries currently use low technology and high labour methods. As the undeveloped
countries are able to advance in technology and knowledge, they would be able to move their
production possibilities toward meeting worldwide demands. Undeveloped countries typically are
producing for their own survival and little for foreign export, as production becomes more efficient
and surplus is gained, then farmers would be able to export the excess to the world market. Smith
points to the case of African cotton and its US production to show where subsidies hurt both
productivity and trade. The United States cotton producers are subsidized by the government and this
has depressed the prices worldwide by approximately a quarter which costs West African countries
$200 million in lost foreign exchange. Over 11 million people rely on cotton for their income but with
US subsidies in place it reduces the price and therefore income received. If subsidies were removed,
Africa could produce at two thirds the

  • 2. Prevention Of The Anti Vaccination Movement Coughs, headaches, aches and pains, fever, or runny noses are all common symptoms. They are symptoms that can lead to anything from the common cold to a deadly viral infection. It is because of this that vaccinations are a fundamental part of society and why doctors and parents alike advocate for hand washing, hydrating, and staying home when you are ill. Disease prevention is a corner stone in today s society and has been one for around 200 years since; Edward Jenner created and administered the first smallpox inoculation. However, while always controversial the last few centuries have proved to lend unfounded credence to the anti vaccination movement. Due to the publication of faulty studies along with spiritual and even political beliefs vaccinations have gone from being viewed as a well respected and endorsed medical procedure to a breeding ground for further infections and possible physical and mental impairments. Vaccination, autism, and bowel disease will be forever linked together due to Dr. Andrew Wakefield. Wakefield published a study in 1998 on twelve patients whom he said proved that vaccinations could cause autism along with gastrointestinal disease. However, in this study he altered and misrepresented all the study participants medical histories and in doing so impacted medicine and public health for the foreseeable future (Cohen). Although the study was proven false within a year and Wakefield was stripped of his medical license individuals still ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Digital Of Digital Master In this 21st century, becoming digital is very critical for many businesses across different industries. A few companies have found their successful paths by leveraging the digital aspects of the business. Those companies who have been successful in the digital world, regardless of the industry they are in, are referred to as Digital Master . Digital Master is company who has both the digital capability and leadership capability. It is also defined as having strong overarching digital vision, excellent governance across silos, digital initiatives generating business value in measureable ways, and strong digital culture (Westerman, Bonnet, McAfee, 2014). Among all of these characteristics, a compelling customer experience and core operations play crucial roles in building digital capability. This paper is going to elaborate on the successful stories of two companies, Burberry and Asian Paints, which have created both compelling digital customer experiences and exploiting the power of core operations (Westerman, Bonnet, McAfee, 2014). Firstly, there are three things that Digital Master does differently in creating a compelling customer experience: Designing customer experience from the outside in, creating reach and customer engagement, putting customer data at the heart of the experience, and seamlessly meshing physical and digital experiences in new ways (Westerman, Bonnet, McAfee, 2014). • 4. Political Stereotypes In Scandal The political thriller Scandal which began airing in 2012 has become an immensely popular television show. The protagonist Olivia Pope is portrayed by the actress Kerry Washington. Olivia Pope is a crisis manager who runs her own firm, Pope Associates, which specializes in managing political situations and making the problems of the elite go away. Scandal, challenges the mainstream blueprint used to construct most television shows in Western society. Primarily, Scandal breaks down stereotypes of African Americans and females in general in society. There are many ways in which Scandal achieves these goals. Scandal has a diverse cast of characters normally not portraited on television. The characters do not conform to the stereotypes that have made other similar characters successful. Scandals also uses on screen and off screen choices that contrast choices typically made by the television industry. Through these different choices Scandal portrays African Americans and women on television in a way which is far from common in the industry. Television is widely considered a more racial and gender friendly medium of popular culture. However, prime time television is not nearly as progressive as people believe, and is still a male dominated industry. In a report done by the Institute for Diversity and Empowerment at Annenberg, 11,306 speaking characters were evaluated and 66.5% were male, while 33.5% were female [1]. Moreover, 41.6% of females in television took leading or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They predict scrawny people in dirty striped uniforms staring closely as the others are numerously getting buried, or being bulldozed into mass graves. He explains the environment he tries to build and details a series of questions he asks his students to ponder about. Much like our first day of class, he asks his students to think about their opinions and whether they are entitled to have them or not. As the article progresses the writer proposes whether all opinions should be treated equally. Alvarez employs the topic of climate change to convey that when we give opinions the same validity sometimes we end up with a certain someone that says climate change is not a real issue which then leads to a topic getting more media coverage than it should. • 10. Analysis Of On Truth Today s political climate is a polarizing topic. Every form of media has an opinion on it from major news outlets to adult animated sitcoms. Harry Frankfurt s book On Truth is relevant to the political storm that is brewing in American society due to the manipulation of the truth by political figures and mainstream media. Frankfurt approaches the importance of truth in a unique fashion and vilifies lies and those who spread them. This directly relates to the election year and how the truth is shrouded in mystery. The Daodejing and Socrates writings, while both important in literature are not as pertinent to the charged political climate that is taking place in the United States right now. For the first time in American history there has been mass protests across the country due to the Republican nominated president elect Donald J. Trump. People from many major cities went to the streets to say things like Not My President and Never Trump. It is safe to say Trump s campaign has been riddled with controversy and has been criticized by both major political parties. Trump s campaign is not the only one with problems. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has been met with constant problems throughout her campaign she has been accused of numerous corruption scandals. The American public is deeply divided and believes they had to pick between the lesser of two evils. This is all a distortion of the truth. • 11. The World Of Private Security Essay In todays world of private security, secrecy is essential. But what about when those secrets are incidents which breach the confines of the law or human rights. Should they still be kept secrets, should they be ignored by government regulators and poorly investigated by congressional committees, or should they be exposed and issued proper sanctions? Since the beginning of the War on Terror there have been a multitude of incidents involving private security companies which are also sometimes known as mercenary armies. These incidents, in many cases, have tried to be covered up or discredited by the companies involved. In some instances, bribes were even involved and exposed but the companies were still allowed to operate. Many of them even received more contracts from the US government! Private security companies around the world provide essential services that range from the protection of VIP s to the installation of security systems to the building of FOB s (Forward Operating Base), command bases, and even roads. Personally, I like the idea of PSC s (Private Security Companies) and am even looking to go into the private security industry but my choice would come after careful consideration and research on the policies and procedures of the company. That is where the problem today lies, with the policies and procedures of PSC s as well as the lack of policies and procedures imposed onto them by the government. Therapy is similar to a book without a cover, you need to dive in to understand what you are reading and only afterwards do the contents emerge. After the sessions finished at the post adoption centre, Sue and I agreed to continue therapy but privately in her home based in Hampstead Heath. Sue was a qualified psychotherapist, or I m assuming perhaps she was a counsellor? Not checking her credentials, she explained she specialised in psychosynthesis; never heard of it. The founding father of psychosynthesis (not the guy who coined the term for his electroconvulsive therapy) was Roberto Assagioli. They have different plots and different authors, but they can also have similar elements and plot ideas. Some examples of that in a story could be that a character makes a friend, or attempts to achieve a goal. In this essay, I will be comparing and contrasting Old Ben and Fox Hunt , two stories with different plots and similar elements. While some similarities are evident between Old Ben and Fox Hunt , the differences are also distinct. There are many similarities between Old Ben and Fox Hunt . One of them is the use of foreshadowing in both narratives. Foreshadowing is when there are indications throughout the text that hint at events to come. In Old Ben , it is foreshadowed that the snake will die in the end. In Fox Hunt , it is foreshadowed that Lee is the fox spirit. Another similarity is that the two stories both have main characters that are either animals, or have animal characteristics, such as Ben from Old Ben , who is a snake, and Andy, from Fox Hunt , who is part fox. A closing similarity is that both of the stories use narrative structure. Narrative structure is when a narrative is arranged in chronological order. Looking at these examples, we ... A concluding difference is that Fox Hunt uses fantasy ideas, such as fox spirits, while Old Ben does not, and only uses real life ideas. • 16. Analysis Of Emily Dickinson s My Life Had Stood-A Loaded Gun In Emily Dickinson, My Life had stood A Loaded gun , we as the reader see how a female protagonist stand s up for herself in defense of the male antagonist. However, in two contrasting literary theory s we see a difference of opinion. The first literary theory is by Sarah Ahmed and the theory is displayed in her writing called, Living a Feminist Life. Throughout her work she displays the importance for feminism in todays world and how one should separate themselves if necessary. The second work that we have is by Donna Haraway called A Cyborg Manifesto, the main idea throughout the work is contrasting with Ahmed in the importance for unification. The unification the Haraway uses is by explaining cyborgs and how humans would react with them, but more importantly how unification of humans and machines effects us. Throughout the essay Haraway and Ahmed s theory s will be explained and the differences shown. In Dickinson s novel the first stanza shows how the woman is being passed by without having any voice, it specifically states, My Life had stood a Loaded Gun In Corners till a Day The Owner passed identified And carried Me away . In the first stanza it is clear how the woman is referring to herself as a gun that is of no use to her owner . The owner is presumably a man and has minimal use for her as someone would for a gun. If facts are important in conveying relevant information the media should be concerned with reporting only facts that provide an accurate description of events. Unfortunately, certain media outlets have issues with reporting solely facts. The media can be an amazing tool for dispersing information amongst the masses and can ensure that everyone is educated on relevant and important topics. The media can also be used as propaganda to further an agenda that may not be in everyone s best interest. Regardless of what media is used for it is a very powerful outlet and whoever controls the media outlets can control the publics perception of a given situation. In today s society 50% of the world population is thought to use the internet (Internet). That is an astounding 3,675,824,813 people (Internet). Considering this overwhelming total it can be said that most of the media in today s society revolves around the internet. TV news stations and newspapers are viewed by far less individuals on a global scale than the internet. The primary symptoms in regards to this disease include akinesia, or loss or impairment of voluntary movements, bradykinesia, or slow movement, trembling in hands, arms head, and legs, stiffness in the trunk portion of the body and muscle flexors of the limbs, and unstable posture affecting balance. Parkinson s is chronic and slow progressive and over time patients will begin to experience difficulty in normal tasks such as walking, talking, and other day to day activities (NINDS, 2013). Despite the difficult symptoms that a patient might face, Parkinson s disease has been deemed idiopathic, meaning that no cause has been found for it. Unlike an airborne or sexual disease, Parkinson s is not transmittable. Each example will first describe the shortcomings and wastes of current agriculture systems. Then it will be shown how the smart agriculture system can be used to optimize that system through the use of data and data analysis 6.1 Use Case 1: Wine Vineyards Aside from technology and software development, one of the most profitable industries in the San Francisco Bay Area is wine. Wine is a very valued drink ranging in price from a few dollars, to a few hundred, to even a thousand dollars per bottle. Wines from California are an industry leader, accounting for over $25 billion dollars in sales in 2015 [9]. Wine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Vineyard owners were forced to become experts in a wide variety of fields so that they could use their best intuition to select locations and provide the best growing conditions for their grapes [9]. This is where having a smart agricultural system can make a huge impact. Each environmental condition that the grape vine experiences can become a data point that can be tracked monitored and archived. Using this data the vineyard owner can determine what conditions make for the best grapes. The goal of the smart agriculture system is to optimize the taste of the grape. Grape taste varies year to year, season to season, and region to region. Each vineyard has unique conditions that will result in unique grapes. These conditions are almost impossible to recreate. However, with the use of an extensive sensor network it may be possible to quantify the growth environments and correlate that to wine vintages that were especially good. These growth conditions could then be applied to green houses that would grow the grapes within a controlled environment. 6.2 Use Case 2: Pistachio Trees Another common crop grown in California are pistachios. Pistachios grow on trees and require hot, dry summers and mild winters. In addition to ideal weather conditions pistachios also require a huge amount of water to grow. If pistachios are not given enough water during their production months the pistachios will produce blanks. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The resting potential of a neuron is the difference in electrical voltage between the inside and outside of the neuron s membrane. An action potential is a short electrical impulse generated at the axon hillock which travels the length of an axon. Its generation happens in three distinct stages, depolarisation, repolarisation and hyperpolarisation. When the threshold of excitation is reached, depolarisation starts, the threshold is between 55mV and 65mV in most neurons. When the neuron is stimulated voltage activated Sodium (Na+) channels open, allowing Na+ ions to rush into the neuron. This reverses the polarity in the neuron towards its peak of +40mV. At this peak Na+ channels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this stage, there are too many K+ ions outside the axon, causing the membrane potential to be too low. The resting membrane potential is returned to 70mV after these ions diffuse. The propagation of an action potential describes the movement of an action potential along an axon. This is done through the regeneration of the action potential at different points as Na+ ions move along the axon. The propagation of an action potential along a myelinated axon is quicker than in unmyelinated axons. This is due to Saltatory conduction; where an action potential moves from one node of Ranvier to another, along an axon. Saltatory conduction allows for faster and more efficient propagation. Two laws govern the generation and propagation of an action potential, the All or None Law and the Rate Law. The All or None Law states that if an action potential occurs it will continue to the terminal buttons without interruption. The Rate Law, however, describes how the different rates of an action potential represent different stimulus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Organisational structure According to Robbins and Judge (2008), the structure of an organisation determines the way duties and tasks are split as well as coordinated inside the organisation. Any structure utilised by an organisation would depend on the size of that organisation and also the purpose and goals for which the organisation stands for (Brooks, 2003). For example, there is the product or activity based structure, the functional structure and the matrix structure. Product based structure In using a product based structure, the major concentration is the activity been carried out. Individuals from different disciplines work in the same section with a general or common goal. In addition, there is some form of competition amongst the different sections. However, this type of structure can block communication and cause a lack of target similarity. The functional structure Unlike the functional structure has an arrangement that is based on the role that is performed by the different sections of the organisation. This means that each unit/department is focused on its area of capability or expertise and therefore enable them specialise in their areas. For example, the Human resource department, sales and marketing department, logistics department etc. Usually, someone is made accountable for this division hence, there is increase in accountability. (Love Lattimore, 2009, 71 74) With an increase in GDP, developing countries would be able to shift resources from a subsistence level of inputs into agriculture towards infrastructure and education. Agricultural producers in undeveloped countries currently use low technology and high labour methods. As the undeveloped countries are able to advance in technology and knowledge, they would be able to move their production possibilities toward meeting worldwide demands. Undeveloped countries typically are producing for their own survival and little for foreign export, as production becomes more efficient and surplus is gained, then farmers would be able to export the excess to the world market. Smith points to the case of African cotton and its US production to show where subsidies hurt both productivity and trade. The United States cotton producers are subsidized by the government and this has depressed the prices worldwide by approximately a quarter which costs West African countries $200 million in lost foreign exchange.
