Today s Dominican Republic
Today s Dominican Republic
Current political system and its structure
The Dominican Republic is a democratic state that is governed by a representative democracy. The
democratic system is made up of three branches of government in the executive, judiciary, and the
legislature. The president (Bencosme Norton, 2005) represents the head of state. The president is the
head of the executive branch. This branch is assigned the duties of making and executing the laws of
the country. The laws are passed by the congress and then executed by the executive through the
leadership of the president. The president is concerned with the roles of appointing the cabinet, and
being the commander of the country s army. The president and his vice work in accordance to the
terms of the executive, and they are elected into office for a period of four years. The president does
other roles like the appointment of the governors of the various governments (Bencosme Norton,
2005). These governors are 31 in number. This country is a multi party state where elections are held
after two years. There are other humanitarian groups like civil organizations, advocacy groups, and
many other political parties. Some of the major parties are the Social Christian Reformist Party and
the Dominican Liberation Party. The latest presidential elections were held in 2008 with Leonel
Fernandez came out as the winner (The Rough guide to the Dominican Republic, 2002).

The New Deal National Socialism Summary
In John A. Garraty s The New Deal, National Socialism, and the Great Depression , Garraty relates the
Civilian Conservation Corps, or CCC, to nazi work camps, saying the two parallel each other as a tool
to curb unemployment with a military education at their core1. However, the comparison of these
programs is unfeasible as the CCC s mission and methods of carrying out said mission were far less
sinister and much more beneficial to its volunteers. The CCC prided itself on working for the common
good, and the benefits it provided to those who partook. Relating this program to the harsh, deplorable
camps established to build an army for hitler is obscene when looked at from a rational standpoint.
The effect the CCC had on the US is important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However this is once again untrue, as volunteers enjoyed many benefits in their time of service. The
CCC provided workers with all the essentials they needed in their time at the camp, be it food,
clothing, and shelter. This allowed workers to send the money they earned home to their families,
around $25 $30 a month7, rather then having to spend it during their stay. This payment was a huge
incentive to teenagers who wanted to help their families, as they could now help pay for their families
expenses and take their own needs out of the picture. Camp life in the CCC also incentivized out of
work teens, as personal accounts from volunteers portray a life of both work and play. Keith Hufford,
a teen who enrolled in the CCC, describes some of the activities workers would take part in during
their free time; Before long, we were having inter camp musical entertainments, boxing bouts,
impromptu spelling bees, and quite often, interesting plays and sketches 8. This jubilant depiction
serves as one of the many testimonies to the fun workers had during their time in the

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Agile...
To meet the needs of this project, we used a lot of situations similar methods. I ll analysis the
advantages and disadvantages of each method.
5.1 Reduce the number of bugs
It is a working method. It allows two developers work together on the same piece of code, or work on
the same workstation at the same time. When a developer is editing the code and the other developer
can examine the code. The developer who is editing the code called Driver , another developer called
Observer . In fact, two developers often change roles. In pair programming, Observer considers the
direction of the work, make suggestions about improvement, or problems that may arise in the future.
This allows the driver to focus their attention on completing the task.

Agile is a member of software development mode. Actually It is not a technique. I think not only it is
a methodology, but also it is a process of development software. It will show and guide us to finish the
development step by step according to the project required. However this kind of development mode
is driven by human. The human will control the direction of the project.
Compared to the agile, another famous software development mode called waterfall is driven by
technique documents and this mode require the team to write a lot of requirement documents
containing all the requirements to a certain software. It is written to allow people to understand what
software should do. So the developers will develop the functions of software according to the
documents strictly. But the agile software development just focuses on the necessary document. It is
avoid taking a lot of time to write the requirement documents. Its opinion is that the face to face
communication between the human is the most important thing. So the agile think the human is

Mass Extinction Of Dinosaurs
The mass extinction of the Dinosaurs has been a subject of interest and dispute for many scientists
over the years. There are many different theories on what happened to them: did some planetary
destruction happen, did they die out, were they wiped out, or was it the cause of something not of this
planet. This question and this need to solve the mysteries of the world has continued to draw scientists
in for the never ending search for the answer. Scientists have worked tirelessly in an attempt to
discover the truth, and their hard work has warranted some results. In Mexico in the Turquoise waters,
scientists have discovered a crater where they believe an asteroid or comet struck earth which helped
cause one of the largest mass extinctions in the history of our planet. They call it, Chicxulub, and they
know of it as the killer of dinosaurs. They found evidence of this event first in the layers of rock in the
earth. Scientists discovered that when you look at the different layers of rock that depict the history of
our planet certain fossils just stopped showing up. The discovery was that at some point certain living
creatures on this planet simply no longer lived to create fossils. A discovery made by scientists in the
1980s showed there were large deposits of Iridium in the earth during the time all these creatures
suddenly disappeared. Iridium is not that common on this earth, but it is common on asteroids; thus
the belief of the steroid hitting earth. Scientists believe

The Cultural Areas Of The Pacific Ocean
Although many people have no idea that Polynesia really means region of many islands , I happen to
know that this region is made up of three major cultural areas in the southwest Pacific Ocean. These
include Polynesia, and Polynesia s neighboring cultures, Melanesia and Micronesia. The Polynesian
culture is so wide spread, so practices, customs, norms, etc. all fluctuate by island. The entire culture
can be examined through the seven elements of culture. To begin, these three cultures are extremely
diverse, but very similar. I decided to examine the Polynesian Culture in particular because it has the
highest popularity within the Pacific Islands. The Polynesian culture is spread across 15 main
locations, with thousands of islands and several countries in between. Each island included in the
Polynesian culture is located within the Polynesian Triangle . The Polynesian Triangle is made up of
three main island groups: Easter Island or Rapa Nui , the Hawaiian Islands, and New Zealand or
Aotearoa islands. Other notable islands within the triangle include the Tokelau Islands, the Marquesas
Islands, the Tuvalu Islands, the Samoan Islands, the Cook Islands, the Fiji Islands, the Niue Islands,
the Tuamotu Islands, the Tahiti Islands, and the Pitcairn Islands. The Polynesian Culture dates back
2,000 to 3,000 years ago. Major Polynesian cultures include New Zealand Māori, Native Hawaiians,
and the indigenous peoples of Easter Island, the Marquesas, Sāmoa, American Samoa, French

Mount Victory Geography
Mount Victory is located in California. The climate of our city is windy, sunny, and warm. We have
wet winters. This climate is favorable to a city because the people want good weather to be able to
live, get outdoors, play sports and have fun. Our city has been established near mountains, it also has
water and a good supply of resources. Having the mountains will protect them from some natural
disasters that would come from that direction. Also having water and good resources help so that way
they will be able to survive and raise families. It has fertile farmlands. The climate the weather and the
geography are very good in our city as stated in this article. We are also trying to innovate so that way
the people may be able to get a little bit more room in our city because it can be pretty cramped.

reduces our waste by encouraging our citizens to eat their leftovers and not to pollute or harm the
environment. Mount Victory reuses our waste by turning our waste heat from the back of our
refrigerators to electricity. We will also get ethanol, electricity, and desalination from our wastewater
that is polluted. We will also only sell recyclable materials in our city s stadiums, events, and large
gathering to prevent large production of waste. We will require every citizen in our city to recycle. We
will also have recycling bins throughout our city so our people don t put recyclable materials into our
city s trash bins. We will reduce the amount of waste by having citizens compost to not only make our
city s soil rich, but so the people can grow fresh crops that taste amazing. We will also get rid of
rotting materials by using them as fertilizer for nearby

The Between Female And Female Urinary System
Problem/Definition
Microbes such as bacteria, viruses, or fungi enter the urethra and can cause a urinary tract infection. A
UTI can occur in different parts of the urinary tract such as the kidneys, the ureter, the bladder or the
urethra. They are more common in woman than in men. This is due to the females having a shorter
urethra. According to Balentine (2015), about 40% of women and 12% of men will experience a UTI
in their lifetime (p.1). It is because of the anatomical and physiological differences between the male
and female urinary system that UTI s are more common in women.
Background
Different microbes that infect the lower and upper urinary tracts cause a urinary tract infection.
Depending on where the infection develops the severity varies. If a patient is experiencing discomfort
while urinating such as burning, lower abdominal cramping, constant need to urinate, incontinence,
nocturia, or feeling generally unwell and achy, they may be experiencing a lower UTI (Robinson,
2013). Despite all these symptoms, some patient s may not experience any. A lower UTI involves the
bladder and urethra (McIntosh, 2014). E. Coli, also known as Esherichia coli, lives in the bowel and
anus. The bacteria E. coli causes 90% of urinary tract infections (Balentine, 2015, para.2). It is
because the urethra and anus are positioned so close together on the female that wiping from back to
front can pull the bacteria from the anus into the urethra, infecting the area (Karriem Norwood,

director of the book and movie is truly extraordinary. Charlie (Logan Lerman), a 15 year old

19.7 percent between 2014 and 2015. Multiple studies and research have concluded that living in
poverty results in lasting damage on a child s self esteem. The stories these 19.7% live are very similar

battles with poverty, hunger, and child neglect. All of these battles were in her quest to prosper and

Transformational Leadership In The Forgotten
Transformational leadership is an individual with the ability to change an organizational culture by
creating a new vision for the organization and obtaining the support necessary for the change of the
organization (Shafritz et al, 2012, p 368). In the novel The Forgotten by David Baldacci, the role of
both David Puller and General Julie Carson were examples of exceptional leadership as well as team
players. In the novel The Forgotten, it has not been established that either party would not be able to
change a culture or create a new vision, but that was not their goal in the story. Transformational

Trader Joe Essay
According to the textbook, Trader Joe is not a gourmet food store or a discount food store. Trader Joe
actually specializes in selling gourmet food at a discounted price. This store is also a cultural

Trader Joe utilizes the concept of marketing strategy, though the element of prices. According to the

Examples Of Humor In The Things They Carried
3.0 Trauma and Interaction
Repressed thoughts can re express and influence soldiers conversational interaction. They manifest as
gallows humour, which illustrates the soldiers tendency to adopt inappropriate dark jokes to release
their stress.
In The Things They Carried, the soldiers gallows humour is a manifestation of their repressed fear of
death. This is seen through the character voice of Azar a soldier in the Alpha Company. In The Man I
Killed, the embedded dialogue that interrupts O Brien s main narrative shows Azar comparing the man
O Brien killed to breakfast cereals. Shredded fuckin Wheat , oatmeal or Rice Krispies : the cereal
image illustrates the deformed, porous corpse. Contrast to O Brien s detailed and heartfelt tribute to
the dead soldier, Azar s interruptive and anti climatic allusion to cereals ridicules the body and
dismisses the seriousness of the situation. Likewise, in In The Field, Azar uses inappropriate puns like
Wasted in the waste and biting the dirt to discuss Kiowa s death in the sewage field. His amused tone
is absurd, given the depressing situation of the men who are witnessing their comrades deaths.
However, gallows humour has their origin from the unconscious . Azar s dark humour stems from his
repressed fear of death, which O Brien s collage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hip Hop And Hip Rap Music
The study of hip hop music has been cited well throughout its growth over time. The purpose of this
paper is intended to discuss hip hop culture and address cultural stereotypes associated with rap and
hip hop music, but also how its original lyrical intentions were forms of expression and art. It will
begin by guiding the reader through how it originated, its influence with the African Americans with
its subculture and popularity in urban areas, its styles of evolving, the introduction of hip hop and rap
to the public, the depiction it gave off with its criticisms from outsiders. An evaluation of hip hop
artists songs by Sugar Hill and the Gang, Run DMC, Queen Latifah, and N.W.A. Including lyrics from
the songs Rappers Delight , King of Rock , Latifah s Law , and Niggaz4Life . In the conclusion it
exposes how hip hop music is clearly for black Americans to express themselves freely and in fact did
not cause violence.
Hip hop cannot be understood by just examining how the artists might carry themselves or just their
lyrics alone. The uniting of hip hop in to society gave accommodations in an integrated generation of
young Americans and it changed the racial dynamics in the United States. Even though you might not
be born in the 70 s when hip hop was originated, it has become a part of our generation and has stuck
around ever since. This paper is written with the intentions to prove how the evolution of hip hop or
rap music has ultimately made America

Tristan And Isolde Essay
In Tristan, by Gottfried Von Strassburg, Tristan and Isolde s love is best characterized as being moral
and immoral at the same time. This paradoxical feature is indivisible to their relationship and it
appears in various incidents, for example, when Isolde receives the ordeal of hot red iron and when
Isolde and Tristan lie together in a cave with a sword between them.
In Chapter 23, in order to prove her innocence and to end the rumor in the court, Isolde has to accept
Bishop s suggestion for an ordeal of hot red iron. She fears her reputation and honor will be ruined at
once and she is also troubled by the fact that she needs to come up with a plot to whitewash her
falseness (246). She confides all these secret struggles to God and she finds her way through praying

he believes this is the chance to discover the truth. Through the window, he finds his wife and nephew

them (272). Tristan and Isolde seem to be so innocent, however, they hide their guilt in deep as this is
another plot to cover their immoral love. The virtuous act is indeed immoral because it hides their
intimate relationship. Tristan proposes this plan out of constant fear that someone might discover their
relationship. Isolde adopts the plan as neither does she want it to happen. In fact, the two enjoy their
time together very much. The cave they live in is called the Cave of Lovers, with a bed in the center
which is engraved along its sides with letters, announcing that the bed was dedicated to the Goddess

Literary Analysis Of Richard Wilbur s Boy At The Window
A child s life is replete with exhilaration, merriment, and unalloyed thoughts. Moreover, where there is
joy, there is sorrow. The assertions applied in Boy at the Window by Richard Wilbur connect the
unusual bond intertwined between a young child and a snowman. The child s innocent mind
contributes to the underlying concerns within his steadfast heart. Various literary elements are
conveyed throughout the concise poem, which allude to the differentiating points of view perceived by
the boy and the snowman. The young boy is introduced as emotionally unstable based on the harsh
effects of Mother Nature. Accordingly, as the boy strengthens his feelings of grief, the snowman
remains in a state of cruelty as he suffers outside in the gnashing of snow. The boy collects all of his
feelings of sadness into his point of view, which guides the reader to generating a sense of pity for the
child. The snowman gives the boy a God forsaken stare that essentially is the snowman s cry for help
in the eyes of the boy. Despite the overwhelming heartache the boy is experiencing, the snowman
appears to be in a more subtle state of mind. Contrasting points of view counteract to the opposing
feelings on each side of the window s glass. The snowman subconsciously implies a sense of
sympathy for the boy as he stays outside in the unbearable weather. His point of view is essential to
developing the overall message of youthful innocence. As the snowman melts enough to make the
child begin to cry, it is inferred that the snowman was not initiating the gloomy feelings of the child;
he was nonetheless trying to prevent them. Initially, the divergent points of view were difficult to
grasp, but within further evaluation it is clear to notice that the two different points of view illustrate
the devastation within fear and heartfelt love for genuine people. Correspondingly, the connotation
throughout the poem reveals the cruel weather conditions as well as the vivid reactions of the child.
Dark , cold , and enormous moan contribute to the idea of how abrupt the snowstorm was outside of
the window. Wilbur brilliantly states that the young boy was looking through a bright pane . Pane can
also be inferred as the literal pain

Staphylococcus aureas versus Methicillin Resistant...
From Staphylococcus aureus to MRSA
Abstract
I investigated the difference between Staphylococcus aureas and its super bacteria form of Methicillin
resistant Staphylococcus aureas. I used books, websites, and scholarly projects to understand the topic
at a molecular level. After researching penicillin, Staphylococcus aureas, and Methicillin resistant
Staphylococcus aureas, I found that both the drug and the bacteria use enzymes as their defense and
attack mechanism. Penicillin uses a ß lactam ring as a substrate to clog the active site of
transpeptidase, and in defense, the bacteria uses ß lactamase to break down the ß lactam ring. I hope to
continue research on super bacteria to determine whether or not other super bacteria ... Show more

B lactam Antibiotics and Bacteria
To understand how MRSA works against antibiotics, we must first look at the cell wall and how
antibiotics work. The cell wall is designed to maintain the cell s shape and to keep the inner workings
of the bacteria safe. Without a cell wall, the bacteria could not survive. The wall of a bacterial cell can
fit into two major categories: gram positive and gram negative. Staphylococcus aureas is a common
example of a gram positive bacteria. Gram positive bacteria is made up of polymer layers of
peptidoglycan connected by amino acid bridges. Peptidoglycan is a polymer made of
Nacetylglucosamine and N acetyl muraminic acid, or for the purpose of convenience,
NAG and NAMA. [6] These layers of polymers are cross linked with amino acids as shown in the
diagram below. The polymers are connected and layered by an enzyme known as transpeptidase. The
enzyme is responsible for catalyzing the reaction that cross links the cell wall to make it strong.[1]
Making the cell wall is easily one of the most basic and essential processes that takes place.
[6]
Penicillin and Methicillin, two antibiotics used to treat Staphylococcus aureas, are known as ß lactam
antibiotics. They prevent the bacteria from forming a cell wall.[1] The
NAM of the peptidoglycan leaves residue of D alanyl D alanine which bind to the transpeptidase in
order to cross link the chain. ß lactam antibiotics

The Wachowski Brothers The Matrix
The Matrix is a film directed by the Wachowski Brothers depicting a future in which machines rule.
The machines have created a complex computer program called the matrix which simulates a form of
reality. The machines have enslaved humans by hooking them up to the matrix so that they can harvest
them as an energy source. A number of people have been able to escape the matrix and they continue
to fight the war against the machines in hopes of being able to free everyone still trapped within the
matrix. Throughout the film the main characters Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity enter back into the
matrix several times for various reasons. Because the film bounces back and forth between reality and
the matrix, the film induces a strong theme of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The matrix sets were designed to have a worn and torn look that was imposing and grid like. The
scenes depicting the characters in the real world mostly took place on the ship, Nebuchadnezzar.
These sets were designed to have a patched up look where the wires and components of the ship were
clearly visible, communicating the idea to the audience that the ship is a marriage between man and
machine. In addition to how the sets looked, how the scenes were shot within those sets added to
theme as well. When the characters were within the matrix, the scenes were shot using a green tint,
mimicking the feel of early monochrome computer monitors. When the characters were in the real
world, they used a blue tint and longer shot lenses which soften the background while putting more
emphasis on the characters.
As I also mentioned earlier, the actual appearance of the characters in the film is another component in
the theme of appearance verses reality. When the main characters are in the real world, they are shown
with having a connection port on the back of their necks. This connection port is the means by which
the characters can reconnect to the matrix. The characters were also depicted in the real world as
wearing clothes with a more textile feel, and hair that is less stylized. When compared to how these
characters are depicted when they are inside the

Being Frugal Research Paper
We all want to save money and often times go the extra mile to do so, but is there a such thing as too
frugal ?
Definitely! Here s how to gauge when you re taking it a bit too far!
Deprivation: Frugality comes from sparing resources while still meeting your basic needs. Being
frugal should never mean that you are depriving yourself from the basics, i.e food. When budgeting
and determining what changes you re making to your spending habits the most important thing is to
make sure your needs are met regardless. Deprivation is not limited to food, don t deprive yourself
from basic human needs such as new clothes, human interaction ( trust me, avoiding spending money
on activities can cause this) and special personal advances. Keep your needs met and it will all fall in
place.
Senseless Frugality: This refers to spending money foolishly. Being frugal has to make sense, if not
you re doing it wrong. I urge you to remember Cheaper does not mean better for your pockets! Buying
the paper plates that cost 99 cents for 100 may seem like a better option in comparison to the $2.99 for
40. But let take a closer look the food seeps through the cheaper version and you ll run through it
twice as fast hence this is what we refer to as senseless frugality you save a little right now but spend
more on the bottom line. This correlates to your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Christopher Clombus Is Not A Hero Essay
Introduction
In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. That s the one date everyone remembers, the date in virtually
every school child s history textbook. But, they leave out pretty much everything about Columbus and
his exploration of the New World. It s the part many people have yet to learn about. For years,
Columbus has been presented to us as a hero. In 1934, President Roosevelt even gave Columbus his
own holiday. To this day, we celebrate his discovery of America. What is found in history textbooks
now, have seemed to show another side of Christopher Columbus, a side that they wouldn t dare teach
in elementary school. It s the rest of Columbus tale of discovery . This paper will show you that

The Indians taught them how to grow food and use the land to survive. Columbus and his men would
trade a lot with the Indians and they all lived happily ever after. That s pretty much where our textbook
stopped. I have never learned anything else about Columbus until now. There is so much that my third
grade teacher left out and didn t explain.
REASONS FOR HIM NOT BEEN A HERO Columbus gets a lot of credit for discovering land that
already had people living on it, a land that has already been encountered by other people way before
Columbus was even born. In 70,000 to 12,000 B.C. Siberia explorers sailed to Alaska. In 10,000 600
B.C., Siberians also went to Canada and the state we now call New Mexico. A little more recently the
Vikings in 1000 1350 came from Greenland and Iceland. They traveled to Labrado, Baffin Land,
Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Cape Cod and further south. Around 1311 and 1460 explorers from West
Africa came across to Haiti, Panama, and Brazil (Loewen 48). These were only a few of the many
encounters of the Americas. A result of these explorations was the establishment of Indian villages and
the life they began to lead.
The fact that Columbus didn t actually discover America isn t the idea that is most disturbing when
considering misleading history that children are taught. It is the information that was kept from us
while younger that now should be revealed, since we are at the age that we can comprehend and

Foodborne Illnesses In The United States
There have been many outbreaks of foodborne illnesses in the United States which claim thousands of
lives each year. I chose my essay topic based on my desire to contribute to creating awareness of
simple methods of foodborne disease prevention. Also, I currently work in the healthcare service
industry and I am enrolled in Community and Public Health with UoPeople. This topic is directly
related to my career.
Foodborne illnesses are infections of the digestive tract caused by eating infected foods or drinks.
These illnesses are caused by pathogens such as harmful bacteria, parasites, and viruses. These
pathogens cause death or get people hospitalized. Some examples are Salmonella, E.coli, and
Norovirus. These are found in raw and undercooked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results showed that foods contaminated by these pathogens caused 9.4 million illnesses, 55,961
hospitalizations, and 1,351 deaths each year (p. 12).
Even though people are aware of the importance of cleaning their homes, majority do not comprehend
how cleaning can reduce the level of bacteria in their meals. Also, a lot of Americans undercook their
meat, chicken, and egg. Most do not understand, or find it difficult to understand the safe food
handling instructions on the labels of the products they buy. They even do not keep to the
recommended requirements when storing food in their refrigerators. Since proper food storage reduces
the rate of bacteria growth, the refrigerator temperature should be set to between 32F and 41F. (Bruhn,
2014, p. 319, 326)
However, according to Doyle, et al (2015), there has been reduction in the number of outbreaks and
illnesses due to E.coli infections in the past 15 years. This is due to CDC mandate that clinicians
conduct laboratory testing and reporting of microbial agents that cause illnesses. As a result, foods
highly at risk of getting contaminated are being monitored, inclding natural foods that contain little or
no antimicrobial agents (p. 254). Also, clinicians have taken more active role in educating people
about ways to prevent or reduce foodborne diseases. Washing hands properly as well as changing
cutting boards after handling raw poultry or meat is very important for food

Analyzing Virgil s Advertisements
HANZLIK, M. 7 WMRD
The advertisement created by Emily Dai and I, Marissa Hanzlik, covered the realm of the waverers.
We advertised for Virgil Travel to visit the outside of the gates of hell. Emily and I chose to do a
commercial because it would give us more of an opportunity to be creative and have fun with the
project. The target audience for our ad are sports fans, particularly those who enjoy attending the
events in person.
Characters we chose to highlight in our commercial were Moses, Celestine V, and Charon. Moses is
included to advertise to those living in Limbo and to offer entertainment to those in the first circle. We
also included Moses because is well known and those on earth are will likely recognize his name.

Celestine s costume consisted of a papal hat and a necklace with a cross to help portray his character
as a pope. Charon wore a large black cloak to show how he takes souls of the deceased from the livid
shore and guides them across the dark river. Also, Charon is wearing masks arranged to depict his
flaming eyes. The tormented shades are wearing athletic clothing to show that they are competitors in
a race. Props that we used included a book, a scythe, a cross, a banner, and plastic insects. The book,
used as a bible, and the cross were used to help portray the holiness of the characters. The scythe was
used by Charon to represent the recent death of the souls waiting to cross. The banner was used as a
sign at the entrance of the gates of hell to set the location. The plastic insects were thrown at the
competitors to represent the tormenting of the waverers by wasps and flies. We chose to begin our
commercial at the stairs outside of school to symbolize the entrance to a stadium or coliseum. Emily
and I decided to film Celestine in the cafeteria to portray him in an arena like were the race would take
place. Our original plan was to film Celestine s scene in the sophomore and junior commons but they
were blocked off and filled with chairs. We filmed Charon on one side of the hallway to portray him
as being on the shore of the Acheron. Eli Greer, David Winters, and I acted in this commercial. Eli
was chosen to be Celestine V because he displayed the athleticism and attitude needed to portray his
character. David was chosen for Moses because he was able to capture the stoic nature of his character
and was able to present the change of emotion that we were looking for from his character. I was
chosen to play Charon because I was willing to wear the two masks needed to represent his flaming
eyes. Members of the cross country team acted as

According to McHarg et al. eds. (2010), in the last three decades world governments used to shed the
burden of capital investment, especially in sphere of water, through privatization in order to achieve
more efficiency of water supplies. This approach was developed deeply in European countries such as
England, which is already famous for it s the most highly regulated water companies. This method
also enables the company to concentrate on the service, management and funding of the service,
whereas the local government provides water services in developing countries and cannot afford
investments in large hydraulic infrastructure. Those are the Third World countries and the most of
them are Asian. However, I want to make a significant accent on one of the industrious world s
empires China. According to history of China, water consumption, growing population and demand
for higher living standards were increasing steadily since the 1950s, when industrial development of
the country started. In theory that could lead to new economic era and growth of the country, but in
practice that caused one of the most important environmental problems in China. First of all, the
pollution of water resources in this country goes deep into history in the 1970s. According to Wang

The Mescalero girls puberty ceremony is an example of a quot;Rite of
Passage, quot; a ceremony that marks the transition of an individual from one stage of life to another
(Chapple and Coons, p. 484). The ceremony marks the transition from girl to quot;mother of a nation

The category quot;female quot; is related to fire, the color yellow, and the idea of being protected.
quot;Male quot; is related to the poles, the color red, and the idea of being the protector.
Yellow pollen, symbolizing women, is applied to the girls early in the ceremony.
Furthermore, rather than being stripped bare, the girls are ornately decorated.
However, one may argue that they have been stripped of the attire they wore before the ceremony.
According to Turner, the liminal period is one of humility, obedience, and danger. The girls do exhibit
these qualities during the period of transition, particularly during the all night dancing ordeal. I still
would not interpret this as a quot;low quot; because of the blessings the girls bestow upon the
community and because of the massages they receive from the
Godmothers.
The period of incorporation has been described as phase in which quot;. .

(Chapple and Coons, p. 485). As noted earlier, the girls interaction with the community is maintained
at different points in the ritual.
However, the girls do undergo a radical change during the ceremony, culminating in their
reincorporation into their communities as new individuals. The ceremony began with the males
constructing a lodge and ended with the girls destroying the lodge. In the beginning, the girls gave

Mr. Player drew my attention to the irony in Parker s rhyme scheme, for when read aloud it sounds

simplified, yet astutely worded to convey a concise message to her reader. As Mr. Player read this

justification for, his actions. Iago is driven by his nature of character. To discuss Coleridge s
assessment we must look at Iago s character from Iago s point of view and that of the other characters
his motives, methods, and pawns. Through some carefully thought out words and actions, Iago is able

The Mexican Revolution By Porfirio Diaz

Santillan, Karen
Research Paper
The Mexican Revolution was brought on by tremendous disagreement among the Mexican people
over the dictatorship of President Porfirio I. Díaz. Diaz stayed in office for 34 years. During that time,
power was in the hands of only a few people. The people had no power to express their opinions or
select their public officials. Wealth was also in the hands of a few people. Porfirio pushed peasants off
of their lands and had business men take their land, they called the land haciendas. The dictator like
rule of Porfirio I. Diaz and the want of land were the reason for fighting in the Mexican Revolution.
The main antagonist of the Mexican revolution was Porfirio Diaz. Diaz became president of Mexico
in 1876. He was the autocrat who took full control of Mexico for 34 years. The revolutionist wanted a
democracy so they fought against his power. The political instability during this time was also a major
question in Mexico. Porfirio Diaz was very corrupt. He used his power as the president to his
advantage. The Mexican Constitution called for public election but Díaz and his supporters used their
political and economic resources to stay in power. He would often imprison his political opponents or
assassinate them just to keep his power over Mexico. This caused the citizens of Mexico to
increasingly oppose Porfirio Diaz and his regime.

Theme Of Fabliau In The Canterbury Tales
A fabliau is aptly categorized as a scandalous tale meant to satirize the bourgeois through the depiction
of bourgeois characters. This is the genre Chaucer writes The Miller s Tale, from his The Canterbury
Tales, in so he can distinguish the social class levels of the people on the pilgrimage. Chaucer shows
us the differences by paralleling then transforming certain aspects of this fabliau with the same
elements of the chivalric romance of the Knight s Tale.
Fabliaux are salacious tales driven by elements such as deception to acquire money or possessions, to
get sexual gratification, or to get revenge on somebody for a past wrong. The fabliau hinges upon an
elaborate trick, set up with huge care in the story, contains the climax of the tale, and ends abruptly as
the story itself ends. It is actually unknown whether the initial purpose of such a tale was for the
nobility to mock the non aristocrats with whom they competed for status, or whether the bourgeois
told fabliaux as an act of self mockery, to show how much the middle class has risen.
In the Miller s prologue, we can infer that the Host wants the chronology of the storytelling to follow
the levels of class; thus the reason why he solicits the Monk to tell a story after the noble Knight. The
Host wants the Monk repay the Knight a little for his tale, but the inebriated Miller volunteers to pay
the Knight his wages. (86, 87) From the context, it appears that the Miller interprets the Host s request

How Did Benjamin Harrison s Legacy Change
Benjamin Harrison was the 23rd president of the United States of America. He was also the third
president who lost the popular vote, but won through the electoral college. This makes us question,
was Benjamin Harrison the man who deserved to win? How would his legacy change? Benjamin
Harrison was born on August 20, 1833 in North Bend, Ohio. He was born into a family of strong
political history, which ensured a path in politics if he wished. His grandfather, William Henry
Harrison, was a leader in the political field and would later become the 9th president of the U.S.A..
Benjamin Harrison s great grandfather, also named Benjamin Harrison, signed the Declaration of
Independence. Benjamin Harrison s father, John Harrison, was a representative

President Lincoln was shot on April 14, 1865 and died the next morning (Holzer). His assassin was
John Wilkes Booth (Boritt), he and his co conspirators had many things planned for that night.
Consequently, in the days that followed John Wilkes Booth and his associates were caught ( The
Assassination of the President ). Too many, this was a tragedy and even President Lincoln s enemies
praised him after death. John Wilkes Booth was a famous actor in his time, but today he is more well

Sonnet 130 Tone
The world has many if not endless methods and techniques for demonstrating those specially dear a
form of affection. However, the display of the complex understanding of Shakespeare, which to the
opinion I lack to the fullest, in the 130th Sonnet, Sonnet 130, demonstrates the speaker s affection
through the development of a complicated attitude through his use of certain writing attributes.
Anyhow, sonnet 130 expresses the speakers affection by portraying the real person that he loves and
stating that he does not need no fancy gibberish to express his love. This sonnet begins with a
generalization of an ugly women or so it seems to divert from the ordinary or tradition vision of
beauty creating a direct tone in the speaker. This section, composed

Dove Into The World Of The Five Freedoms And Internet...
Ph.D Cynthia Andrzejczyk, author of The Progressive Writing Text, dove into the world of the five
freedoms and Internet security. During the first month of a new year in 1941, President Franklin D.
Roosevelt delivered a speech on the Four Freedoms to the 77th Congress of the United States of
America (Andrzejczyk 64). Roosevelt s four freedoms became the lifeline of every citizen. Each of
these freedoms have become a basic human fact. These freedoms became the backbone of the United
States and are also included in the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights (64). All citizens have
been given the chance to make their own decisions and increase their quality of life. Everyone is given
the tools to be able to achieve each of their dreams, gain more knowledge and globally expand
networks. The first essential freedom that Roosevelt discussed was the right to freedom of speech.
This freedom gave people the right to express themselves while omitting any caution. This freedom
crosses into gray matter where the internet is concerned because of how information on the Internet is
monitored and removed if necessary. The freedom of speech also included the freedom of information,
where citizens are allowed to seek knowledge through any platform with any limits (64). The second
freedom was the freedom to worship. Citizens will be free to fully dedicate themselves to any religion
and are able to change their faith as they please (64). Everyone is able to religiously practice,

The United States and the Philippines. Syria, Iraq, Iran, China, Korea, Russia, Mexico and last but not
least, Liberia are places that the United States of America finds itself involved in. Globalization is the
process in which societies and cultures integrate, appropriate, and learn from others. It is a natural
process and occurs every time in history when one culture tries to dominate another one. In some
contexts, globalization might seem necessary for a society to thrive. However, when a particular
society or culture overreaches, that is when problems occur. I wholeheartedly believe that the United
States should be involved in the Philippines in order ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is so dangerous in the field, that the Filipino police force is to scared to intervene with the deals
themselves. It is said that some police officers are involved in the deals as well. They take bribes in
exchange for looking the other way, and allowing drug traffic to continue unimpeded. The police will
simply wait for the deal to finish, and for the bloodshed to come to a temporary halt, before
determining if it is safe enough to make an arrest. If a policeman feels the current situation is too
dangerous, he will not intervene. According to an interview, if you do not pay the money back, [to the
drug lords] they will hunt you down and kill you ( Vice News). I feel that because the Phillipines own
police force is too scared to actively do something, another force should intervene in order to protect
innocent bystanders. There is a full on drug war occurring in the Philippines. There is also a full scale
conflict between the government and the cartels in Mexico as well. If the situation in the Philippines is
not put under control soon, Mexico offers a glimpse of what it s future could be like. Everyone cares
about El Capo but no one cares about Shabu making an appearance on the West Coast of America. The
United State is already dealing with a methamphetamine crisis in the Midwest, where rural poor create
meth labs in trailers or abandoned houses and ship drugs across the States. Shabu from the Philippines
would only increase that problem and drain more of the

  • 2. Today s Dominican Republic Today s Dominican Republic Current political system and its structure The Dominican Republic is a democratic state that is governed by a representative democracy. The democratic system is made up of three branches of government in the executive, judiciary, and the legislature. The president (Bencosme Norton, 2005) represents the head of state. The president is the head of the executive branch. This branch is assigned the duties of making and executing the laws of the country. The laws are passed by the congress and then executed by the executive through the leadership of the president. The president is concerned with the roles of appointing the cabinet, and being the commander of the country s army. The president and his vice work in accordance to the terms of the executive, and they are elected into office for a period of four years. The president does other roles like the appointment of the governors of the various governments (Bencosme Norton, 2005). These governors are 31 in number. This country is a multi party state where elections are held after two years. There are other humanitarian groups like civil organizations, advocacy groups, and many other political parties. Some of the major parties are the Social Christian Reformist Party and the Dominican Liberation Party. Garraty s The New Deal, National Socialism, and the Great Depression , Garraty relates the Civilian Conservation Corps, or CCC, to nazi work camps, saying the two parallel each other as a tool to curb unemployment with a military education at their core1. However, the comparison of these programs is unfeasible as the CCC s mission and methods of carrying out said mission were far less sinister and much more beneficial to its volunteers. The CCC prided itself on working for the common good, and the benefits it provided to those who partook. Relating this program to the harsh, deplorable camps established to build an army for hitler is obscene when looked at from a rational standpoint. The effect the CCC had on the US is important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However this is once again untrue, as volunteers enjoyed many benefits in their time of service. The CCC provided workers with all the essentials they needed in their time at the camp, be it food, clothing, and shelter. This allowed workers to send the money they earned home to their families, around $25 $30 a month7, rather then having to spend it during their stay. This payment was a huge incentive to teenagers who wanted to help their families, as they could now help pay for their families expenses and take their own needs out of the picture. Camp life in the CCC also incentivized out of work teens, as personal accounts from volunteers portray a life of both work and play. Keith Hufford, a teen who enrolled in the CCC, describes some of the activities workers would take part in during their free time; Before long, we were having inter camp musical entertainments, boxing bouts, impromptu spelling bees, and quite often, interesting plays and sketches 8. There are many different theories on what happened to them: did some planetary destruction happen, did they die out, were they wiped out, or was it the cause of something not of this planet. This question and this need to solve the mysteries of the world has continued to draw scientists in for the never ending search for the answer. Scientists have worked tirelessly in an attempt to discover the truth, and their hard work has warranted some results. In Mexico in the Turquoise waters, scientists have discovered a crater where they believe an asteroid or comet struck earth which helped cause one of the largest mass extinctions in the history of our planet. They call it, Chicxulub, and they know of it as the killer of dinosaurs. They found evidence of this event first in the layers of rock in the earth. Scientists discovered that when you look at the different layers of rock that depict the history of our planet certain fossils just stopped showing up. The discovery was that at some point certain living creatures on this planet simply no longer lived to create fossils. A discovery made by scientists in the 1980s showed there were large deposits of Iridium in the earth during the time all these creatures suddenly disappeared. Iridium is not that common on this earth, but it is common on asteroids; thus the belief of the steroid hitting earth. Scientists believe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Cultural Areas Of The Pacific Ocean Although many people have no idea that Polynesia really means region of many islands , I happen to know that this region is made up of three major cultural areas in the southwest Pacific Ocean. These include Polynesia, and Polynesia s neighboring cultures, Melanesia and Micronesia. The Polynesian culture is so wide spread, so practices, customs, norms, etc. all fluctuate by island. The entire culture can be examined through the seven elements of culture. To begin, these three cultures are extremely diverse, but very similar. I decided to examine the Polynesian Culture in particular because it has the highest popularity within the Pacific Islands. The Polynesian culture is spread across 15 main locations, with thousands of islands and several countries in between. Each island included in the Polynesian culture is located within the Polynesian Triangle . • 11. The Between Female And Female Urinary System Problem/Definition Microbes such as bacteria, viruses, or fungi enter the urethra and can cause a urinary tract infection. A UTI can occur in different parts of the urinary tract such as the kidneys, the ureter, the bladder or the urethra. They are more common in woman than in men. This is due to the females having a shorter urethra. According to Balentine (2015), about 40% of women and 12% of men will experience a UTI in their lifetime (p.1). It is because of the anatomical and physiological differences between the male and female urinary system that UTI s are more common in women. Background Different microbes that infect the lower and upper urinary tracts cause a urinary tract infection. Depending on where the infection develops the severity varies. If a patient is experiencing discomfort while urinating such as burning, lower abdominal cramping, constant need to urinate, incontinence, nocturia, or feeling generally unwell and achy, they may be experiencing a lower UTI (Robinson, 2013). Despite all these symptoms, some patient s may not experience any. A lower UTI involves the bladder and urethra (McIntosh, 2014). E. Coli, also known as Esherichia coli, lives in the bowel and anus. The bacteria E. coli causes 90% of urinary tract infections (Balentine, 2015, para.2). It is because the urethra and anus are positioned so close together on the female that wiping from back to front can pull the bacteria from the anus into the urethra, infecting the area (Karriem Norwood, ... • 23. Literary Analysis Of Richard Wilbur s Boy At The Window A child s life is replete with exhilaration, merriment, and unalloyed thoughts. Moreover, where there is joy, there is sorrow. The assertions applied in Boy at the Window by Richard Wilbur connect the unusual bond intertwined between a young child and a snowman. The child s innocent mind contributes to the underlying concerns within his steadfast heart. Various literary elements are conveyed throughout the concise poem, which allude to the differentiating points of view perceived by the boy and the snowman. The young boy is introduced as emotionally unstable based on the harsh effects of Mother Nature. Accordingly, as the boy strengthens his feelings of grief, the snowman remains in a state of cruelty as he suffers outside in the gnashing of snow. The boy collects all of his feelings of sadness into his point of view, which guides the reader to generating a sense of pity for the child. The snowman gives the boy a God forsaken stare that essentially is the snowman s cry for help in the eyes of the boy. Despite the overwhelming heartache the boy is experiencing, the snowman appears to be in a more subtle state of mind. Contrasting points of view counteract to the opposing feelings on each side of the window s glass. The snowman subconsciously implies a sense of sympathy for the boy as he stays outside in the unbearable weather. His point of view is essential to developing the overall message of youthful innocence. As the snowman melts enough to make the child begin to cry, it is inferred that the snowman was not initiating the gloomy feelings of the child; he was nonetheless trying to prevent them. Initially, the divergent points of view were difficult to grasp, but within further evaluation it is clear to notice that the two different points of view illustrate the devastation within fear and heartfelt love for genuine people. Correspondingly, the connotation throughout the poem reveals the cruel weather conditions as well as the vivid reactions of the child. Dark , cold , and enormous moan contribute to the idea of how abrupt the snowstorm was outside of the window. Wilbur brilliantly states that the young boy was looking through a bright pane . B lactam Antibiotics and Bacteria To understand how MRSA works against antibiotics, we must first look at the cell wall and how antibiotics work. The cell wall is designed to maintain the cell s shape and to keep the inner workings of the bacteria safe. Without a cell wall, the bacteria could not survive. The wall of a bacterial cell can fit into two major categories: gram positive and gram negative. Staphylococcus aureas is a common example of a gram positive bacteria. Gram positive bacteria is made up of polymer layers of peptidoglycan connected by amino acid bridges. Peptidoglycan is a polymer made of Nacetylglucosamine and N acetyl muraminic acid, or for the purpose of convenience, NAG and NAMA. [6] These layers of polymers are cross linked with amino acids as shown in the diagram below. The polymers are connected and layered by an enzyme known as transpeptidase. The enzyme is responsible for catalyzing the reaction that cross links the cell wall to make it strong.[1] Making the cell wall is easily one of the most basic and essential processes that takes place. [6] Penicillin and Methicillin, two antibiotics used to treat Staphylococcus aureas, are known as ß lactam antibiotics. Around 1311 and 1460 explorers from West Africa came across to Haiti, Panama, and Brazil (Loewen 48). These were only a few of the many encounters of the Americas. A result of these explorations was the establishment of Indian villages and the life they began to lead. • 29. Foodborne Illnesses In The United States There have been many outbreaks of foodborne illnesses in the United States which claim thousands of lives each year. I chose my essay topic based on my desire to contribute to creating awareness of simple methods of foodborne disease prevention. Also, I currently work in the healthcare service industry and I am enrolled in Community and Public Health with UoPeople. This topic is directly related to my career. Foodborne illnesses are infections of the digestive tract caused by eating infected foods or drinks. These illnesses are caused by pathogens such as harmful bacteria, parasites, and viruses. These pathogens cause death or get people hospitalized. Some examples are Salmonella, E.coli, and Norovirus. These are found in raw and undercooked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The results showed that foods contaminated by these pathogens caused 9.4 million illnesses, 55,961 hospitalizations, and 1,351 deaths each year (p. 12). Even though people are aware of the importance of cleaning their homes, majority do not comprehend how cleaning can reduce the level of bacteria in their meals. Also, a lot of Americans undercook their meat, chicken, and egg. Most do not understand, or find it difficult to understand the safe food handling instructions on the labels of the products they buy. They even do not keep to the recommended requirements when storing food in their refrigerators. Since proper food storage reduces the rate of bacteria growth, the refrigerator temperature should be set to between 32F and 41F. (Bruhn, 2014, p. 319, 326) However, according to Doyle, et al (2015), there has been reduction in the number of outbreaks and illnesses due to E.coli infections in the past 15 years. This is due to CDC mandate that clinicians conduct laboratory testing and reporting of microbial agents that cause illnesses. As a result, foods highly at risk of getting contaminated are being monitored, inclding natural foods that contain little or no antimicrobial agents (p. 254). Also, clinicians have taken more active role in educating people about ways to prevent or reduce foodborne diseases. We advertised for Virgil Travel to visit the outside of the gates of hell. The target audience for our ad are sports fans, particularly those who enjoy attending the events in person. Characters we chose to highlight in our commercial were Moses, Celestine V, and Charon. Celestine s costume consisted of a papal hat and a necklace with a cross to help portray his character as a pope. Charon wore a large black cloak to show how he takes souls of the deceased from the livid shore and guides them across the dark river. Also, Charon is wearing masks arranged to depict his flaming eyes. The tormented shades are wearing athletic clothing to show that they are competitors in a race. Props that we used included a book, a scythe, a cross, a banner, and plastic insects. The book, used as a bible, and the cross were used to help portray the holiness of the characters. The scythe was used by Charon to represent the recent death of the souls waiting to cross. The banner was used as a sign at the entrance of the gates of hell to set the location. The plastic insects were thrown at the competitors to represent the tormenting of the waverers by wasps and flies. We chose to begin our commercial at the stairs outside of school to symbolize the entrance to a stadium or coliseum. Emily and I decided to film Celestine in the cafeteria to portray him in an arena like were the race would take place. Our original plan was to film Celestine s scene in the sophomore and junior commons but they were blocked off and filled with chairs. We filmed Charon on one side of the hallway to portray him as being on the shore of the Acheron. Eli Greer, David Winters, and I acted in this commercial. Eli was chosen to be Celestine V because he displayed the athleticism and attitude needed to portray his character. David was chosen for Moses because he was able to capture the stoic nature of his character and was able to present the change of emotion that we were looking for from his character. According to McHarg et al. eds. (2010), in the last three decades world governments used to shed the burden of capital investment, especially in sphere of water, through privatization in order to achieve more efficiency of water supplies. This approach was developed deeply in European countries such as England, which is already famous for it s the most highly regulated water companies. This method also enables the company to concentrate on the service, management and funding of the service, whereas the local government provides water services in developing countries and cannot afford investments in large hydraulic infrastructure. Those are the Third World countries and the most of them are Asian. However, I want to make a significant accent on one of the industrious world s empires China. According to history of China, water consumption, growing population and demand for higher living standards were increasing steadily since the 1950s, when industrial development of the country started. In theory that could lead to new economic era and growth of the country, but in practice that caused one of the most important environmental problems in China. The ceremony marks the transition from girl to quot;mother of a nation quot; (p.252). The ritual serves as a means of establishing equilibrium after the crisis of puberty (Chapple and Coons, p. 484). However, one may argue that they have been stripped of the attire they wore before the ceremony. According to Turner, the liminal period is one of humility, obedience, and danger. The girls do exhibit these qualities during the period of transition, particularly during the all night dancing ordeal. Alice Parker Rhyme Scheme In an incendiary blend of form and deep meaning, Parker is able to relay a precautionary tale to modern women about modern love through a cynical synopsis that forewarns her readers to shield themselves from naivety. Parker uses a conventional rhyme scheme (ABABAB) to frame the portrait of her image of modern romance for her reader, and when read aloud it sounds like a lullaby of sorts. Mr. Player drew my attention to the irony in Parker s rhyme scheme, for when read aloud it sounds like a sing songy nursery rhyme yet carries a substantially more serious message. Through some carefully thought out words and actions, Iago is able to manipulate others to do things in a way that benefits him; all the while he is pushing Othello, Desdemona, Roderigo, Emilia, and Cassio to their tragic end. The Mexican Revolution By Porfirio Diaz Verdin, Ramon Khan, Kamal Santillan, Karen Research Paper The Mexican Revolution was brought on by tremendous disagreement among the Mexican people over the dictatorship of President Porfirio I. Díaz. Diaz stayed in office for 34 years. During that time, power was in the hands of only a few people. The people had no power to express their opinions or select their public officials. Wealth was also in the hands of a few people. Porfirio pushed peasants off of their lands and had business men take their land, they called the land haciendas. The dictator like rule of Porfirio I. The Mexican Constitution called for public election but Díaz and his supporters used their political and economic resources to stay in power. • 39. Theme Of Fabliau In The Canterbury Tales A fabliau is aptly categorized as a scandalous tale meant to satirize the bourgeois through the depiction of bourgeois characters. This is the genre Chaucer writes The Miller s Tale, from his The Canterbury Tales, in so he can distinguish the social class levels of the people on the pilgrimage. Chaucer shows us the differences by paralleling then transforming certain aspects of this fabliau with the same elements of the chivalric romance of the Knight s Tale. Fabliaux are salacious tales driven by elements such as deception to acquire money or possessions, to get sexual gratification, or to get revenge on somebody for a past wrong. The fabliau hinges upon an elaborate trick, set up with huge care in the story, contains the climax of the tale, and ends abruptly as the story itself ends. It is actually unknown whether the initial purpose of such a tale was for the nobility to mock the non aristocrats with whom they competed for status, or whether the bourgeois told fabliaux as an act of self mockery, to show how much the middle class has risen. In the Miller s prologue, we can infer that the Host wants the chronology of the storytelling to follow the levels of class; thus the reason why he solicits the Monk to tell a story after the noble Knight. The Host wants the Monk repay the Knight a little for his tale, but the inebriated Miller volunteers to pay the Knight his wages. During the first month of a new year in 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered a speech on the Four Freedoms to the 77th Congress of the United States of America (Andrzejczyk 64). Roosevelt s four freedoms became the lifeline of every citizen. Each of these freedoms have become a basic human fact. These freedoms became the backbone of the United States and are also included in the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights (64). All citizens have been given the chance to make their own decisions and increase their quality of life. Everyone is given the tools to be able to achieve each of their dreams, gain more knowledge and globally expand networks. The first essential freedom that Roosevelt discussed was the right to freedom of speech. This freedom gave people the right to express themselves while omitting any caution. This freedom crosses into gray matter where the internet is concerned because of how information on the Internet is monitored and removed if necessary. The freedom of speech also included the freedom of information, where citizens are allowed to seek knowledge through any platform with any limits (64). The second freedom was the freedom to worship. Citizens will be free to fully dedicate themselves to any religion and are able to change their faith as they please (64). Everyone is able to religiously practice, ...
