missing all of these but could could just be barely able to afford them. Poverty is a multidimensional
issue that concerns a person s level of health access and coverage, available educational opportunities
and quality of life, according to the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative. The U.K.

The Blind Side; In reality and the movie A young boy who grew his life up with nothing, found a
family that changed his entire life by making him apart of their life. If it wasn t for the Tuohy family,
Michael Oher would not have been able to pass high school and college or play football in the NFL.
The director of this film made changes in the movie from the real story to make the film more
interesting and compelling. In the movie, The Blind Side, director John Lee Hancock kept some of the
details that were similar to Michael Oher s life but changed others to make the movie more interesting.
In movie The Blind Side, There are some events that take place that are a little different from the
actual event that took place. For example, in the movie Michael s coach decides to enroll him into the
schooling programs right away but in reality, the principal didn t let Michael in before insisting on a
home school program for a few months to get his grades up (Anna Diamond). Additionally in the
movie, the Tuohy s find Michael walking on a sidewalk at night while it s raining and cold and
Michael doesn t have clothes that are suitable for the weather. They decide to take him in that night to
let him stay in their home. In real life, Leigh Anne Tuohy finds Michael on the side of the road in

Save the Cod, Save the Fishing Industry
Dating back to the 1600s, Cod fishing has been a major industry in the New England area, with a 5
feet long Sacred Cod hanging inside the Massachusetts State House signifying its importance.
However, fishermen are now facing an unprecedented low stock of Atlantic cod in the Gulf of Maine,
directly impacting marine ecosystem as well as the annual cod landing. In November 2014, regulators
from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) were forced to impose a
temporary ban on cod fishing and discuss possible solutions. Otherwise, the extinction of cod in the
Gulf of Maine will damage the ecosystem irreversibly and the entire cod fishing industry will
collapse. Tackling the problem of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Examples of forage fish include sardines, anchovies and herrings. Scientists have shown that catching
forage fish instead of cod is a more sustainable approach. According to research from the University
of British Columbia Fisheries Center, the forage fish population has more than doubled in the past
century (Christensen, 2014). A main cause for the population growth is that human beings are
overfishing forage fish s predators like cod and tuna. When overfishing of cod occurs, herring
population increases naturally due to the reduced effect of trophic cascade. Herrings are very abundant
in the Gulf of Maine and they are not overfished. Furthermore, fishing herring and cod both use mid
water trawling (NOAA, 2015), so fishermen can easily adapt to fishing herring instead of cod, and the
bycatch of other species can be significantly reduced with modified fishing gears (Monterey Bay
Aquarium Seafood Watch, 2015). However, even though herrings are very abundant, we should only
fish them sustainably. Strict regulations based on scientific research need to be implemented in order
to avoid overfishing herring, which can be harmful to the recovery of the cod

Or maybe I didn t really see them, Maybe they weren t really there. Maybe I m insane. Though, of

French poet Jean de La Fontaine once said, The argument of the strongest is always the best. I believe

American vs. Italian culture: worlds apart
By definition, culture is a combination of collectively shared traits, values and traditions that
distinguish one human group from another (Hofstede, 1991). Thus culture is in essence that heart and
spirit that makes each country and its people unique and different. And in that sense, America and
Italy are literally at the opposite sides of nearly every aspect of culture. Being an Italian American, I
have grown in a family where these two opposites meet and blend together. Albeit the differences of
these two cultures are nearly innumerable, the most commonly recognized and distinct ones lay in the

Hall (1983, pp.42 54): monochronic (US) vs. polychronic (Italy). That means that in the States the
whole life is fitted into a rigid schedule and time itself is a precious commodity. Conversely, as a
polychronic nation, Italians are more concerned with the people and the present moment than the
schedules (Hall, p. 42) and perceive time as something flexible like a flowing river. As a result,
Italians enjoy a much slower pace of life than Americans. For example, nearly every food beverage
business in the US has to go options, whereas in Italy it is not common since people tend to enjoy their
meals slowly, without haste. Consequently, the Italians tend to be more relaxed and laid back about
nearly everything: what is not done now, will be done later. Eventually. Sooner, or later no stress there.
This list of differences between American and Italian cultures could go on and on, even though the
globalization through the new technologies has driven countries and cultures closer together than ever
before. But still, US and Italy present nearly opposite perspectives on the core values and behavior
patterns in life: Italy being more conservative and tradition oriented in family relations, eating habits
and general pace of life, while US valuing independence and efficiency above

12. Human Rights And The International System
Understanding Human Rights in the International System Through a Liberal Perspective
Human rights as a topic of study may have a simple, incontestable sound to it, but this is far from the
case. Yes, most people will recognize that human beings deserve certain rights, but past that point all
opinions begin to split and scatter. As it stands, human rights are an ever changing and complex
category of issues. In order to try and make sense of these complex topics, scholars employ a range of
theories. Theories act like a lens, helping to organize the analytical process and point people in the
appropriate direction. Without the foundation that theory lays out, the thought process, as well as
arguments, can quickly become a mess of smaller thoughts, often with contradicting outcomes. In this
paper, I will utilize Liberalism to try and understand the nature of human rights as a political issue
within the international system.
Human rights and the discussion thereof are complex and dynamic. Human history is filled with the
sluggish progression of human rights. The rapid process of ever increasing globalization has helped to
speed up the fight for human rights over the last century. However, many obstacles still exist, the most
notable being the debate over Universalism and Cultural Relativism. Put simply, Universalism asserts
that all rights should be universal (everyone deserves the same rights regardless of sex, race, religion,
geographic location, age, etc.). On the

Time theft is defined as time that employees waste or spend not working during their scheduled work

experiment where he changed the color of his skin to see how African Americans lived in the deep
South. After news reports got the news of the actions of John Howard Griffin, racists started to
threaten his life. That is when he decided to go to Mexico, until the story died down. When he came
back to his home, he hired a Negro Youth (Griffin 163) to clean up his parents home. This is when he
reveals why racism existed. In the book, there are many pieces of evidence, which supports this type
of ending. One piece of evidence can be seen as right after John broke the news about his experiment
of acting like a black man to see what went on in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of John and his whole family going to Mexico, I decided that John stays home and reveals to
the public what is happening and the causes for racism. I said this because of John s knowledge of the
black people s lives after his experiment. My first piece of evidence can be seen when John finds a
place to sleep, after being stranded in a place called Mobile. John Howard Griffin states, This was the
dark tangent in every man s belly [...] the lust to cause pain or fear through self power (Griffin 105).
The quote supports my ending because it shows Griffin s new understanding of why the white race
mistreats the black communities. That will allow John to convince people to stop being racist, and
instead to start loving one another. Another piece of evidence is when John wakes up from a long
night, after finding a place to stay in a Negro s household. He says, Recent scientific studies show that
the contemporary middle class Negro has the same family cult, the same ideals and goals as his white
counterpart. This supports my ending because it allows John to show racists that the only difference
between whites and blacks are their skin color. The last piece of evidence can be seen after John stops
taking his medication and starts to look like his old self again. He asks himself, Was it worth trying to
show the one race what went on behind the mask of the other? (Griffin 126) This supports my ending
because it shows that John contemplates on whether he should talk to his fellow whites about what he
saw when he was a black

25. The Pros And Cons Of Body Cameras
1. Introduction and Thesis
Body cameras are used to record police actions and communication with a citizen. They can ensure
the safety of the public. Body cameras also establishes trust among the public by keeping police
officers and people aware and accountable of their actions. Police officers wearing the cameras can
help to decrease crimes and make the neighborhoods a much safer place to live. The protection and
security of body cameras has had a great impact on the lives in the community and it should continue
to be used.
2. Background Information
When recording an incident, it is sent to the police department and stored there until it is needed for
evidence. According to the article Police Body Worn Camera Footage talks about a case where the
police officer recorded the incident and the people could see who was at fault. There are many cases

Reasons or Evidence to Support your Claim
First, body cameras provide objective evidence of incidents during arrests (Fourth Amendment
Implications of Police Worn Cameras). Wearing body cameras can show the incident that occurred to
see if the officer used deadly force. It allows people to determine if the police officer force was
reasonable based on the circumstances they faced. If the police officer is wrong in his or her actions
they will be punished for it. Overall the body cameras are a safety measure for both the individual and
the officer.
Second, the use of camera footage can help to train officers in handling future interactions with
citizens (Lights, Camera, Action: The age of body cameras in law enforcement). The purpose of it is to
show someone s experience with the public so that other officers will make less mistakes. This creates
officers that are better trained and aware of different circumstances that may occur. The public can
benefit from this because situations will be handled with less force and deadly actions by the police. It
is important that the police maintain the safety of

26. The Grimm Brothers Fairy Tales
Everything from music, to movies, and fairytales has been influenced by society. More specifically,
society has influenced the Grimm Brothers fairy tales. The Grimm Brothers fairy tales would be
considered dark and gruesome by today s standards. Parents would not allow their own children near
the stories, which caused society to give the tales a more PG feeling. The tales changed and became
what we know them as today. Disney has played a major role in creating the innocent versions that
today s early generations have experienced. While they rarely admit it, societies, such as Disney,
caused the original works of the Grimm Brothers to be overshadowed by their infantile adaptations.
Most of you have probably heard of the Grimm brothers, and if you haven t heard of them, you have
most likely seen their work. Disney movies like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella are
child friendly versions of the Grimm brothers original fairy tales. Ironically, the brothers had no
intention on becoming story tellers, when first starting their journey. The book The Annotated
Brothers Grimm stated, that when trying to study other languages they found it easiest and best to
share stories that had been passed down generation to generation. The brothers kept all the stories they
had heard and published a book in 1812 called Kinder und Hausmarchen, which translates to Tales of
Children and thee Home . Believe it or not, fairy tales were not always about finding true love, and

Qualitative research is exact research where the information is not as numbers. Qualitative researchers
study things in their natural settings, make sense of, or interpreting information. My research paper is
about children with mental health illnesses. Qualitative research on my paper would be the research
that I found that on my topic from creditable sites that consisted of data with no numbers included.
Kevin Browne stated, There is continuing debate on the extent of the effects of media violence on
children and young people, and how to investigate these effects. The aim of this review is to consider
the research evidence from a public health perspective. A search of published work revealed five meta
analytic reviews and one quasi systematic review, all of which were from North America. There is
consistent evidence that violent imagery in television, film and video, and computer games has
substantial short term effects on arousal, thoughts, and emotions, increasing the likelihood of
aggressive or fearful behavior in younger children, especially in boys. The evidence becomes
inconsistent when considering older children and teenagers, and long term outcomes for all ages. The
multifactorial nature of aggression is emphasized, together with the methodological difficulties of
showing causation. Nevertheless, a small but significant association is shown

29. Early Influences On Emily Dickinson s Life
December 10, 1830, Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was born in Amherst, Massachusetts to an Emily and
Edward Dickinson. Just like any parent thinks, I am certain that they thought that their kid would be
great and do great things. Little did they know that their daughter would become the greatest female
poet to this day. In her early life, she attended Amherst Academy that her grandpa, Samuel Dickinson,
founded. According to biogrpaghy.com, She was an excellent student. Emily Dickinson suffered with
depression for personal reason that are unknown, and that is said to be the reason that she dropped out
of school. The uniqueness of Dickinson and how she writes poems one would think would take a good
bit of writing poems and failing, but that s not the case, which also just shows that greatness was just
natural to her. She starting writing as teenager. There are a few people that she looked up to and
influenced her to write. Her early influences include Leonard Humphrey, principal of Amherst
Academy, and a family friend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most people try to understand where she was trying to go with her writings, but here is my favorite
part about it, Emily Elizabeth Dickinson did not write to nobody. She was not writing thinking that she
was going to publish these. She was not writing thinking that she had to impress someone. That is the
big kicker! That is why she is my favorite and that is why she is the greatest female poet. She wrote
through emotions. Combine both of the ways Emily Dickinson writes which is through her life and
through her thoughts and it brings a couple of words to mind, real and truth. That s what makes her the
best because it is either what she is going through or how she feels. I mean I am not the only that
thinks this. Few poets are as mythologized as Emily Dickinson, (Holmström 1). What she
mythologized was her thoughts and life and did a good job doing so. Better than any other as other

31. What Is Pagerank Is An Algorithm Developed By Sergey Brin...
Abstract:
PageRank is an algorithm developed by Sergey Brin and Lawrence Page which uses subset of network
analysis to understand associations between nodes in a linked database. The algorithm uses multitude
of parameters to assign PageRank to various pages and is the backbone to Google search functionality.
Rank assigned to a webpage is calculated based on the ranks of the webpage citing it.
This algorithm was developed as part of the research project supported by National Science
Foundation grant provided to Stanford University. The patent was filed by Stanford University in 1998
and is still owned by Stanford University, however Google has exclusive rights to use the patent.
PageRank is trademark of Google Inc. and Google pays royalties to Stanford University for using the
patent in Google search.
With the advent of computer technology in 1990 s the need to search large databases was increasingly
becoming vital. The search engines prior to PageRank had limitations, the then most widely used
algorithm used text based indexes to provide search results on World Wide Web however had
limitations of improper search results as the logic used by the search engines looked at the number of
occurrences of the search word in webpage which sometimes resulted in improper search results.
Another technique used during the time was based on variations of standard vector space model i.e.

33. The Epic Of Gilgamesh And Gilgamesh Essay
While the women in the Epic of Gilgamesh may not be the primary focus of the epic, which instead
recounts more of Gilgamesh s own trials and travails, they still play quite vital roles in their
interactions with both Enkidu and Gilgamesh. Women such as Shamhat, Ninsun, and Ishtar in The
Epic of Gilgamesh are often portrayed with a particular emphasis on their intrinsic connections to
civilization and in the case of Shamhat and Ninsun, in terms of their motherly characteristics as well
which serves as their primary influence over men. When taken into account with Gilgamesh s
overarching quest for immortality, this inherent connection that women have with civilization, and
particularly so through their roles as mothers of not just a single character, but in general of the entire
progeny of civilization itself, lends to the notion that women themselves are the very progenitors of
civilization who will ultimately uphold Gilgamesh s own quest for immortality. One of the first
women of particular importance and influence to appear in the epic is Shamhat the harlot. Shamhat is
initially introduced to the wild man Enkidu as a means to tame him, as [her allure is a match] for even
the mighty (The Epic of Gilgamesh, Tablet I.141). This characterization of Shamhat, with a particular
emphasis on the power of her allure and sexuality, puts forth the preliminary notion that the primary
source of a woman s power and influence stems from her sexuality. Moreover, Enkidu s acceptance of

34. The Negative Effects Of Stress In High School
Today s students may be more stressed than ever before. In fact, the 2015 American College Health
Association National College Health Assessment found that 85.6 percent of students had felt
overwhelmed in the past year. The pressures of getting top grades, balancing extracurricular activities
with studying, and spending time with family all add up, (Carlson). Statistics show that students stress
levels are rising and the newly found stress causes negative effects. Surveys and studies have shown
that the stress has come from the school system and its attributes. The extreme levels of stress are the
main foundation for many issues to sprout and cause problems for the students. Besides causing
issues, the stress teenagers have led them to deplorable outlets that hurt them in the long run. The
research shows, that the high school setting is the cause of teenagers being extremely stressed out, the
stress causes issues, and it has caused them to turn to destructive outlets.
To start, research has shown a direct correlation between the stress level of high school students and
the grades they receive and the course load they had. One study stated, Homework was a leading
cause of stress, with 24 percent of parents saying it s an issue. Teenagers say they re suffering, too. A

they were stressed by school pressures, (Neighmond). The study shows that school pressures alone

35. Catch 22 Satire Essay
Stylistic use of satire in literature has been around for centuries. The use of satire is to ridicule human
follies, shortcomings, and vices by exaggerating, distorting, or using irony to showcase the
foolishness. Satire in literature is directed at society, the government, or the military to show social
criticism, and what needs to be changed. The definition of satire was founded by classical writers such
Alexander Pope, John Dryden and Jonathan Swift, in two major forms: gentle (Horatian) and harsh
(Juvenalian). Gentle satire is mildly making fun of a subject with wit. This form of satire tends to ask
the audience to laugh at themselves as much as the players. (Mitchel ) Harsh satire is condemning and
criticizing a subject. This form of satire is more judgmental, asking the audience to respond with
indignation to the events it portrays. (Mitchel ) In the twentieth and nineteenth century authors
continued to use both forms and combine them to ridicule new issues in society. Catch 22, by Joseph
Heller, is an example where the author uses a combination of harsh and gentle satire to ridicule a
central issue around society at the time of WWII. Catch 22 also blends both forms of satire to

2.4. HDFS File System
Hadoop distributed file system is written in Java for Hadoop framework, it is scalable and portable FS.
HDFS provide shell commands and Java application programming interface (API). [12] Data in a
Hadoop cluster is broken down into smaller pieces (called blocks) and distributed throughout the
cluster. In this way, the map and reduce functions can be executed on smaller subsets of larger data
sets, and this provides the scalability that is needed for big data processing. [12] A Hadoop cluster has
nominally a single namenode plus a cluster of datanodes, although redundancy options are available
for the namenode due to its criticality. Each datanode serves up blocks of data over the network using
a block protocol specific to HDFS. The file system uses TCP/IP sockets for communication. Clients
use remote procedure calls (RPC) to communicate with each other.

In 1995, The People of the State of California vs. Orenthal James Simpson, became the most

prosecution s case against O. J. Simpson for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle

The sock was important because it appeared to have blood stains on it. For the prosecution s case
against Simpson, they had the blood stains analyzed by the Department of Justice serologist Gary
Sims. He testified in the case that the blood found on the socks were what he considered to be spatter
stains or something along those lines (Walraven, 1995). The blood was tested and was found to be a
match for one of the murder victims, Nicole Brown Simpson. To counter this evidence, the defense for
O. J. Simpson called Herbert MacDonell to testify about the blood stains that were found on the socks
in Simpson s bedroom. The defense wan t trying to deny that the blood belong to Nicole, but rather
how the blood ended up on the sock in the first place. Based on his experience in the field of
bloodstain pattern analysis, he was able to present an argument that the blood stain was a result of a
compression transfer (Walraven, 1995), rather than blood spatter, as the prosecution suggested. The
compression transfer is said to be the result of someone placing blood onto the sock using some sort of
device, and then removing it from the surface of the sock. The amount of blood present on one
particular portion of the sock was also inconsistent with what you would find if spatter had occurred.
Additionally, based on an identical spot of blood forming on the opposite side of the sock from, it was
argued that the blood could have only come in contact with the sock while it was not being worn and
in a relatively flat position. The theory of the sock was that the blood was planted on it, and that could
have only have happened if it was not being worn at the time of the

implications, which are based on the culture of the giver and the recipient. Cronk discusses the idea of
reciprocity, which is the expectance of exchange associated with gift giving. Cronk brings up the
example of Indian Gifts which was a term that white settlers connected to the Native American people

own experiences in gift giving. I love giving gifts, for a long time I tried so hard to give my closest

I would also try to make the experience of opening the gift as memorable as possible. I would make

because I thought I was doing it for my friends but after reelecting about it, I realized that I did it for
my own benefit. I did all of these elaborate gifts with the intention of making myself seem artistic and

7 December 2016
Final Exam About three years ago, I attended a lecture given by Zimbabwean writer, Chenjerai Hove.
He was an exile from his home country, he told us the story of his life, shared some of his work, and
gave us a window into the mind of an exiled person. There was one anecdote of his that really stuck
with me. He said he was once editing a woman s novel. In the novel, the main character is a woman
who is being abused by her husband. By the end of the novel, the main character remains in the
abusive relationship. Hove asked the author why the character did not leave her husband or do
something to escape her situation. The author said that she wanted to portray real life. According to
her, women do not escape from abusive relationships. This response upset Hove. He asked us what the
point of writing was, if not to change, challenge, or argue against something. I remember leaving very
impressed by him in general, and I was sad to hear that he passed away last year. On a positive note,
this anecdote made me judge the quality of literature based on his belief on what literature should do. I
also found this advocacy for change in this class texts. In I, Rigobera Menchu: An Indian Woman in

43. Analysis Of The Movie Bend It Like Beckham
I selected to do a cultural analysis on the movie Bend It Like Beckham . To give a rundown on the plot
of the movie, there is a girl named Jess Bhamra, who is an Indian living in England. She is a very
talented soccer player, but her parents will not permit her to play. One day, she meets a girl named
Jules Paxton, who persuades Jess to play soccer. Throughout her time on the team, Jess has to make
sure that her parents do not discover that she is playing professional soccer and that she has a growing
crush for her coach, (Chadha, Bend it like Beckham ).
One can also observe that men in the Indian culture are more dominant than women. In an article by
Katrina Beedy, Indian men dictate the rules for relationships, especially when it comes to women,
(Beedy). In addition according to an article by Asia society, the indian culture is very hierarchial,
(Asia Society). With having such a culture, women have the role of maintaining the family. For
example, in the movie, Jess s entire family was at her house to celebrate her sister getting married, all

members of not just the immediate family but also the entire family are assumed to roles to keep the

culture) because the British girl called

44. Earthquakes With Earthquakes
Earthquakes: The Same Effects, but Different Responses
Earthquakes occur as a result of the abrupt release of energy in the Earth s crust that creates a series of
waves known as seismic waves. Earth quakes greatly affect people whether they are living in
economically disadvantaged countries or in economically developed countries. However, the way
each of them responds to the hazard is different.
The tectonic movements in the earth s crust are the initial causes of earthquakes. These movements
bring about forces of tension and pressure, these forces stress up the earth s crust. As the stresses
increase, an imbalance in equilibrium of the rocks which results into breaking of rocks and displaced.
The energy accumulated during the process is released giving raise to waves. The waves cause
vibration of objects they come across with causing a lot of impact on them. This may include shaking
and rapture of the ground. As a result there is damage of infrastructure, landslides, fires due to damage
caused to electric and gas lines.
Volcanic eruptions can also cause earthquakes since they are often very violent and can cause
vibrations to the earth s crust, this can result into rupture of geological faults. This is as a result of the
movement of lava beneath ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is due to the fact that LEDC are economically disadvantaged as compared to the MEDC which
tend to have a quicker response and recovery from earthquake damage. Take a look at the Los Angeles
earthquake of 1994 and compare it with the Kashmir earthquake of 2005, one will realise that the
responses were totally different. In Los Angeles almost all schools had been opened in a period of just
one week, and in three weeks all schools had been opened. However, in Kashmir it was distinctively a
different case, whereby rebuilding and re supply of schools took much longer than three

45. Mortgage Loans For Those With Bad Credit
Mortgage Loans for Those with Bad Credit
Unfortunately, the fear of being denied has caused some potential homebuyers to not even bother
going through the mortgage application process. The truth is that the vast majority of home lenders
have some strict approval criteria, especially after the financial collapse that took place in the middle
of the last decade. However, there are programs that are available to aspiring homebuyers with less
than stellar credit. Most of these programs still require validation of income, and in many cases, an
explanation of the cause for the low credit score, but they do provide a viable alternative to traditional
mortgages.
Understanding the Process
It is always wise for anyone looking to obtain a loan for the sake of purchasing a home to develop a
lucid perspicacity of the application process. When a person understands the process, they are less
likely to become overwhelmed or intimidated by anything that occurs during the process. A person s
credit score will play a significant role in determining whether they are approved for a mortgage loan
as well as determining the interest rate of the loan.
Although the credit score plays an integral role in the loan process, it is not the only criteria on which
approval is based, meaning that a person or couple with bad credit can still qualify for home lending
with certain lenders.
There may be some unique specifications and requirements to meet; however, the opportunity to
receive the necessary

48. Technology And Cell Phones For Granted
Nowadays we take technology like internet and cell phones for granted. They allow us to operate more
efficiently and provide us with solutions to various issues. There was a time however when cell
phones and the internet did not exist and technology was not as evolved. A time when fax machines
were new and few in numbers due to its value and only the telephone was the central means of
communication. During the 1970 s, many or close to all businesses relied on postal service for
financial papers such as stocks, checks, and bonds. Back then most department stores received 85% of
their accounts receivable through the mail (Chesterton, 1970). At that time, Richard Nixon was
President and the congress had passed motions that would give members of congress a 41% pay raise
(3). Meanwhile they only gave postal employees a mere 4% raise. This would be the ultimate reason
and trigger of the largest walkout ever on the federal government in U.S history. In those times postal
workers were not unionized and also strikes by public employees were illegal. Regardless, just after
midnight on March 18th 1970 the members of the National Association of Letter Carriers also known
as the NALC went on a wildcat strike. The local Branch 36 had voted previously on March 17th and it
resulted in 1,555 to 1,055 to walk out the next day (Chesterton, 1970). James Rademacher, president
of the NALC had urged his workers to return to work. Postmaster General Winton Blount didn t have

The third target audience is people aged above 35 years who could buy the product for their families.
The main image, of American supermodel Jessica Stam, is situated at the centre of the advertisement
and used to promote the product. Jessica Stam has so far had a lucrative career which has included
working alongside successful fashion designers and companies such as Victoria Secret, Marc Jacobs,
Gucci and Anna Sui as well as appearing on Valentino. Jessica has appeared on the front cover of the

50. The Language And The Origin Of The English Language
According to David Crystal, linguistics professor at the University of Wales, approximately 20 percent
of the world can speak English. With English being the predominant language in the United States as
well as many other parts of the world, it is undoubtedly one of the most significant languages in
modern times. But have you ever wondered about the origins of the language you speak every day?
Where did it come from? Did someone invent it? And why are some rules of the English language so
weird? For example, why is geese the plural of goose? To get a better understanding of English, it is
useful to learn about its long and complex history, and how the language the majority of us know and
use today formed and evolved over time. To learn the history of the English language, we must first go
back in time to Great Britain at about 50 BCE. According to Alastair Kane, writer for Communicaid
business English courses, people here during this time period spoke in what is known as Celtic, but
eventually, Latin also became an influence on their language because of commerce between Great
Britain and Rome. Kane also writes that Latin further shaped the language of Great Britain after it was
invaded by the Romans under Emperor Claudius. Although remnants of this English prototype can be
observed in our modern language, the people of Great Britain certainly weren t speaking what could
be considered actual English. Philip Durkin, principal etymologist at Oxford Dictionaries claims that

51. Counseling The Hood Case Study
Counseling the Hoods with Structural Family Therapy
The Hood family consists of Ben, Elena, and their children, Paul (16 years old) and Wendy (14 years
old), that lives in New Canaan, Connecticut. Paul attends a prep school in another city while Wendy
attends school in New Canaan. The family lacks structure and communication. Neither parents know
what the children are up to, as shown when Wendy asked for money to pay for her band uniform (Lee,
Ice Storm ). Each member of the family is struggling to find happiness. This is demonstrated when
Paul does not want to come on the day before Thanksgiving to spent time with his family, he rather
travel on Thanksgiving Day. Mr. Hood had to convince Paul to come home a day early by saying:

He does drugs occasionally with his roommate. He also has a crush on Libbets. Wendy Hood is a
teenager that is curious about her sexuality. She has been playing sex games with her classmates,
especially Mickey Carver. She also steals from the local pharmacy. They both know that their parents
are having problems with their marriage (Lee, Ice Storm ).
I would use structural family therapy to counsel the Hood family. This therapeutic approach is best for
the Hood family because it will organize the ways in which each family member react with one
another. The Hoods boundaries are enmeshed. Mr. Hood is very disengaged with Mrs. Hood, their
relationship is estranged. Mrs. Hood is dependent on Mr. Hood for happiness, however Mr. Hood is no
longer happy thus he is seeking also. They need to develop mutual support for one another.
Mr. Hood gives the children more attention than his wife, which cause the power of the family
hierarchy to be dysfunction. To correct the family s dysfunction, the power has to be given back to the
parents. They must develop boundaries that separates them from the children. They must also improve
their communication skills with one

52. Heart And Peripheral Vascular System
Heart and Peripheral Vascular System Chest pain is a symptom that can represent several different
diseases from different organ systems. It is essential to determine which system is responsible for the
pain and state the severity of the patient s condition (Longo et al., 2011). When considering pain, there
are eleven different criteria one must consider and evaluate. These include the duration of the pain,
onset, localization, irradiation, character, intensity, alleviating factors, aggravating factors, triggering
factors, regularity and accompanying signs (Longo et al., 2011). These are all useful in determining
the etiology of the pain and taking the appropriate therapeutic steps. The causes of chest pain are

The disease is usually associated with a viral infection before the pain occurs. The pain is sharp and
positional with a pleuritic nature (Longo et al., 2011). The pain is relieved by leaning forward and
worse when the patient is lying down. In addition, the pain is associated with a pericardial rub.
Another pain that is specific is that of aortic dissection. The condition is life threatening and could be
worsened by thrombolytics or anti aggregates, hence it is necessary to detect. The pain is sharp,
tearing, and severe and radiates to the back. The pain is pleuritic in nature and associated with a loss
of pulses (Longo et al., 2011). Non cardiovascular causes of chest pain include musculoskeletal
conditions such as costochondritis. The pain is usually localized and the patient is able to pin point the
exact location of the pain. The pain is increased by inspiration and can be reproduced through
palpitation of the chest wall. Gastrointestinal causes of chest pain include GERD, which is due to an
incompetent lower esophageal sphincter. The pain is relieved by antacids and is exacerbated by the
consumption of chocolates and fatty foods. There are also pulmonary causes of chest pain and these
include pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism is a sharp, sudden chest pain that is usually
pleuritic. In addition, the pain is accompanied by dyspnea, tachypnea, and hemoptysis (Longo et al.,

company s mission statement, responsibilities, and organizational design are big factors to a company
when it comes to your customers, employees, and recognition. If I was a dog sitter service company I

to customers and for your employees. I would put my missions statement as Our mission is to provide

and loved. The mission statement would change my company s culture because of the message that I
am showing to the people. It gives my employees value on their work and makes it their goal to do

reliable and trustworthy for the pet owners and pets. It gives people the visual on what to expect from

Francis Marion was born in the winter of 1732 (his exact birth date is unknown) at Goatfield

Marion was given the rank of first lieutenant in Captain William Moultrie s company of infantry.
In June, Grant led his expedition on the same route Montgomerie had taken. Sensing another ambush
at a pass near the site of Montgomerie s battle, Grant dispatched Marion with 30 men to flush out the
Cherokees. Using trees for cover, Marion s detachment cautiously advanced within range of the
Cherokees, whereupon the Indians sounded their war cry and fired. By the time the pass was secured,
only nine of Marion s men were left. Grant s column proceeded through the pass and engaged the
Cherokees for several hours, until the Indians fled. Marion s capture of the pass allowed Grant to
create a path of destruction in the Cherokee lands, burning 15 Indian towns and destroying their corn
crops. Finally, Chief Attakullakulla, known by some as Little Carpenter, surrendered.
Marion s courageous efforts in the Cherokee War did not go unnoticed. When he returned to his old
lifestyle by leasing farm lands along the west bank of the Santee River, he was accorded great respect
and became a successful planter. Although he spent considerable time hunting and fishing, he was well
acquainted with details of the surrounding lands. He also had an active social life and regularly visited
his brothers and neighboring Huguenot families. During this prosperous time, he attained a sizable
degree of wealth. In 1773,
