Compare And Contrast The Molarity Of Acetic Acid And...
INTRODUCTION
Concentration is the profusion of a component divided by the solvent. Dilute solutions contain
relatively little solute in a particular volume of solvent. While concentrated solution has relatively
great amount of solute in a particular quantity of solvent. There are many term that can be used to
describe concentration and two of them are percent by mass and molarity.
Molarity means number of moles of a solute in a litre of solution. molarity(M)=(mole of solute)/(liter
of solution)
Percent by mass means the mass (g) of solute per mass (g) of solution
Percent solute=(grams solute)/(grams solution) x 100%
Vinegar is a diluted acetic acid (CH3COOH) and the concentration of the vinegar can be determined
by using titration method. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of Mixed Blood By Jefferson Fisher
The article is titled Mixed Blood by Jefferson M. Fisher. The article is about Jefferson who is an
anthropology professor and who is interviewing his daughter and her Brazilian boyfriend how
different places categorize race and ethnicity. He uses that as an example to demonstrate that there is
no such thing as race it s a way that we have categorized things. Like here in the United States we see
the avocado as a vegetable in Brazil they see it as a fruit and eat avocados for dinner. The article also
describes hypo descent which basically organizes race with a hierarchy with whites at the top then
Asians then blacks. Another thing Jefferson talks about is how IQ is not affiliated with race how we
have defined it as some races having a higher

Stolen Generations In Australia
The Report of the National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
Children from Their Families 1997 better known as the Bringing Them Home Report brought to the
fore the policies of separation and assimilation but also denial from several quarters of society
specifically the Liberal Prime Minister
Howard who referred to the whole sorry episode as a blemish in an Australian story of which all
should otherwise be extremely proud, a heroic achievement in the face of immense difficulties. This
blemish was genocide. It took place, as considered policy, for 70 years, in a stable Westminster
parliamentary democracy. (Bartrop, 2001 p.84 85).
With the election of a new Labor government 10 years after, came the apology to the stolen
generations that the conservative Liberal government never did. After conceding the major role of the
stolen generations in intergenerational trauma in 2008, the Council of Australian Governments agreed
to six ambitious targets ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having denied the Stolen Generations compensation, what compensation does your government have
in mind for the exploitation of mineral wealth and the outright theft of Aboriginal lands?
The ongoing legacy of colonisation and government policies has had a severe effect on Indigenous
peoples. The danger of an age of new stolen generations is evident in that contemporary child
protection agencies are replicating many of the discriminatory and destructive dynamics of the Stolen
Generations era (Gibson, 2013). Systematic poverty is proficient for many Indigenous people despite a
strong economy, efforts of self determination and limited land right, the Indigenous disadvantage has
not improved since the 1967 Referendum despite government policy and market opportunities (Mazel,

Modeled Reading Through Shared Reading
Modeled reading is often explained as the process of reading aloud, such as a teacher reading aloud to
students or students reading aloud to each other (Sipe, 2002). However, the modelling process of the
balanced literacy philosophy should be more than simply a teacher reading aloud to students or
students reading aloud to each other as a class. Instead, modelling should involve teachers
demonstrating the action of engaging with a text. For example, a teacher might engage in modelling
by showing students the cover to a book and explaining how he or she can predictions about the
content of the book from the cover, or reading the table of contents to gain some understanding of the
information to be presented (Duke Pearson, 2002). Shared reading is the process of teachers and
students engaging in shared reading activities as a way of teachers beginning to give students more
independence and responsibility in reading instruction (Wall, 2014). For example, once a teacher has
modeled making predictions from the cover or table or contents of a book, he or she might ask
students to make predictions about the content of a book or other ... Show more content on

Figure 2 shows that during modeled reading, the teacher has almost all of the control over the reading
process, but then gives some responsibility to students as he or she asks the students to engage in the
same behaviors that are being modeled as part of shared reading. During guided reading, the teacher
gives more responsibility to the students when they are asked to engage in finding words in texts and
creating meaning from those texts. Finally, almost all responsibility is given to the students as they

Why The Iranian Revolution Occur During A Time Of National...
Identification and Evaluation of Sources:
This investigation will answer the question, what caused the Iranian revolution to occur during a time
of national progress and prosperity? This question is important because the Iranian revolution baffled
the rest of the world, as nobody expected a newly progressive and economically stable nation as Iran
to have its government overthrown. The scope of this investigation is the events throughout the 20th
century that put the family of monarch Mohammad Reza Pahlavi into power and the family s fall from
power, but more focused on the latter. It s important to see how the Pahlavi family rose to power to
understand the condition of the monarchy and what changed between the reigns of the different ...

It is however limited in that it is translated from Turkish and has a number of phrases that require
personal interpretation and therefore need to be assessed by other sources. The piece goes over the
conflict between the current Shah, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, and the leader of the revolution
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. It also discusses how Ayatollah Khomeini s followers actually opposed
each other, but opposed the Shah more. It also explains how the Shah s progressive attitude offended
some for being too progressive, and some for not being progressive enough. This resulted in another
conflict upon the abdication of the Shah, as to what the republic of Iran should be. In the end, Ayatolla
Khomeini was declared Supreme Leader for life.

Investigation:
It s important to understand the background of how the Pahlavi family came into power. In the early
19th century, Iran was undergoing its Constitutional Revolution. The Shah at the time, Muzaffar al
Din Shah, was near death, and decided to allow the revolution. A constitution was written, and a new
Shah, Mohammad Ali Shah, succeeded Muzaffar al Din Shah (Balaghi). The new constitution
organized a parliament which was quickly corrupted by Mohammad Ali Shah, in turn leading to
another revolution in favor of his eleven year old son, Ahmad Shah Qajar, who was ineffective as a
ruler and left a hole of power. This is when Reza Shah

Lawn Garden Research Paper
During the autumn months, there are some basic garden care tips that you need to keep in mind. These
tips are designed to help you have the most beautiful garden and lawn possible. So grab your garden
blower and let s begin the process. Just keep in mind to never walk on your grass if there is a frost on
it.
The first thing you will want to do is remove dead plants from the garden. These are the plants that
thrived in the warmer summer months and are now withered on the ground. By removing these plants
the overall appearance of your yard will greatly improve. During the removal process, you may also
choose to plant new flowers and vegetables in your garden. You should ensure these new additions are
freeze resistant and plan on having a covering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Take your garden blower to it one more time just to ensure there was nothing left behind as well. Then
starting from the edge of your lawn, then working backwards fertilize your lawn. As you do this
process, be sure you have an even coating across the entire area. When you are done, make sure you
do a full watering to ensure that the area remains moist. In about a week, you will want to reseed your
entire lawn paying close attention to any bare or yellow patches that might turn up after you have done
the fertilizing process.
After you have setup your entire yard and have prepared it for the cooler months, be sure that you
follow the next piece of garden care advice. You will need to take your sprinkler system and wrap it
well. Any watering that you might need to do in the winter months should be done by hand with a
detachable hose. This will help you to prevent freezing and having a sprinkler system that can cause
your problems next year.
Something to keep in mind during this entire process is some plants can t tolerate the cold well. If you
are expecting a freeze at anytime, be sure that you cover weaker plants with a warm blanket or plant
cover. This way, you keep them looking great for the next

Unambiguously, my current assignment sparked the interest to use Verizon as my research subject. My
objective in researching Verizon s financial statements was gaining a better understanding of the
company s short and long term goals, once again the old adage Study the past if you would define the
future... has proven to be correct. As I embarked on this journey, I reviewed the requirements, after
selecting Verizon, and subsequently realized that my choice was not a traditional manufacturing entity;
as such I focused my analysis on key types of financial ratios. My analysis will discuss Verizon s
performance as it relates to Asset Productivity, Financial Strength, and Profitability. Through my
research, paired with the course s content my initial impression of this project changed, as did my
appreciation for the role of the Verizon s Financial Management team.
I will also answer the question: Why I would or would not buy their stock if I was an investor?

A couple acts in the entire book clearly showed me this ,these acts were shown by Mr.Van Daan when
he was being selfish with, rude to his own son, and his all around negativity.
On page 83, the following dialogue takes place: Mr.Van Daan:(Pushing Peter roughly) Haven t you
done enough.
This one small quote has many powerful words ,used towards Peter. Shown by the quote above he is
rude towards Peter, Peter was trying to help ,but Mr.Van Daan just yelled at him. Everytime, one
person in the annex made a tiny mistake ,they got yelled at by Mr.Van Daan.
On page 95, the following dialogue takes place: Mr.Van Daan: Just a minute. There s something I d
like you to do for me. Mrs.Van Daan: Putti, where are you going? What do you want?...... Peter:
Father says he s going to sell her fur coat. She s crazy about that old fur coat.
This conversation from the Van Daans is talking about how Mr.Van Daan is going to sell his wife s
favorite coat. This shows how selfish Mr.Van Daan really is. If you would have read a little further , he
says he is selling it because he wants to help the homeless on the streets. It was really ,so Mr.Van Daan
had money to buy cigarettes with. Mr.Van Daan is straight up mean, rude, and selfish. I acknowledge,
that by these actions from Mr.Van Daan ,may make you disagree with the quote. I know that not

Shakespeare s Othello Conspiracy
Shakespeare s Othello
The first act of Shakespeare s works presents a conspiracy by the character Iago over his superior
Othello and his counterpart Roderigo. In the evaluation of events, the three characters work in a way
that seems private to each of them. They are all in the military in the Venetian Army where Othello is
general, and the other two are his focusses. Iago is so much obsessed in two things, first one is to be a
lieutenant, and the other is to marry Desdemona, the daughter of the most emotional character and a
governor, Brabantio. The two problems become the triggers to the plans by this character to bring
down Othello.
Starting with Iago, Iago is determined to be a lieutenant. Instead of Othello giving him an order, he

The first thing you notice about 13 year old Ryder Wells is his hair. He s got a lot of it. Dirty blond, a

personality is undefinable and different from the rest.
To start, he has unusually quirky attitude that contradicts his devoted love towards his pets. For

Marketing Strategy Of Stealth Marketing
INTRODUCTION
Did you know that very day we are imprinted with marketing and we don t even realizing it!
Marketers are eager to find new ways on how to get into your subconscious to sell their product or
deliver their message. This is what is called Stealth Marketing . Stealth Marketing is any marketing
strategy that advertises to consumers without them knowing it. It is used in product placement,
celebrity endorsements, and ad agents.
PRODUCT PLACEMNET Product placement is practice in which manufacturers of goods or
providers of a service gain exposure by paying for them to be featured in movies and TV
programming. In the earlier days producers would approach companies to use their products in their
films. During production of E.T., Amblin Productions and Steven Spielberg approached Mars, Inc.
about a possible tie in between M M s and the film. For water reason, Mars said No to their
proposition. By declining this offer, Mars paved the way for Hershey s Reese s Pieces. Hershey agreed
to do a tie in between the movie and the candy after the film was released. A deal was contracted
wherein Hershey Foods agreed to promote E.T. with $1 million of advertising: in return, Hershey
could use E.T. in its own ads. (Mikkelson, 2011). The payoff was huge! Reese s Pieces saw a reported
65% jump in profits just two weeks after E.T. premiered.
Another example would be Risky Business, starring Tom Cruise. The Wayferer sunglasses that Tom
Cruise modeled in the movie were pretty

The Importance Of Foreign Policy In The Asia-Pacific
Australia s position in the Asia pacific remains strategically important to our domestic and
international interests. Therefore, it is vital to maintain stability in this region for Australia s economic
prosperity and continued preservation of Australia s values of cooperation and freedom in
international territories.
Summary
Foreign policymakers within Australia face the challenge of establishing policy that retains American
engagement with Australia (based on our historic alliances), while acknowledging Americas recent
shift toward domestic priorities. Foreign policy will need to promote ongoing security, political and
economic stability within the APR, continuing to acknowledge the global shift of international trade
toward Asia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
125). President Xi s rise and uncanny resemblance to authoritarianism of the past, alongside Chinas
growing military and GDP is a concern for the region. Though sea lanes are becoming more crowded
and contested with the balance of economic weight shifting, it is not wise to presume that military
engagement is inevitable. Rather it is important to align Australias interest with long term regional
security goals and continued skepticism of Chinese movement south and their defencive/offensive
effort to retain and increase access to energy and other resources. Though it is assured by Chinese
Premier Li Keqiang that China will never seek dominance (Roggeveen 2017), Australia should
proceed with caution and firmness. Our alliance with the US historically has been to continue support
of their presence in the APR though an increase of this could prove damaging based on what Levy
describes as military escalation due to organisational structures and implementation (Levy 1986 pg.
193). Consideration is also needed in regard to America s foreign policy outlook and the Trump
administrations domestic prioritisation. The outlook over the next decade requires Australian foreign
policy makers to consider the further growth of our economic relationship with our Asian neighbours,
the continued advancement of China and India, as well as the United States resolve to remain

John Adams And Thomas Jefferson
John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were two revolutionaries who helped birth a nation through an idea
of the United States. This idea included the equality of all men and their freedoms, such as religion,
speech and liberties. Both Jefferson and Adams became politicians and rose to the position of
President of the United States. John Adams took the position as the second President of the United
States after serving as George Washington s Vice President. Adams served as President from March 4,
1797 to March 4, 1801. Thomas Jefferson succeeded his Predecessor and was voted in as President
after Adams s first term, making him the third President of the United States. As Presidents of the
United Sates, their duties were to uphold laws and values ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adams secured the peace treaty with France, and he was in favor of the abolition of slavery. These are
just a few examples of his dedication and devotion to this country.
Thomas Jefferson had some good ideas that he never put into action, and often people believed that he
was a bit hypocritical, or far fetched. Indeed, Jefferson s words often soared beyond his actions,
leading to enigmatic inconsistencies in his personality that some saw as hypocritical. (A Magnificent
catastrophe 15).
Adams and those calling themselves Federalists saw a strong central government led by a powerful
president as vital for a prosperous, secure nation. (A Magnificent Catastrophe 18). John Adams was a
leader of the Federalist Party, which was the first political party in the United States. One of the
biggest ideals for this political party is to have a national bank. Adams supported urban, big businesses
as well as a national bank. Federalists strived for a strong, central government, so a national bank
would be a part of this vision. Adams received strong support from bankers and merchants from the
northern states. Adams swept the northern states, gaining votes from every elector in New England,
New York, and New Jersey. (A Magnificent Catastrophe 31). Adams s rival, Thomas Jefferson, was a
leader of the Democratic Republican Party. This political party supported a stronger state based

The Importance Of Organizational Leadership
Throughout the CSU Global Master s of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) program of
study, several aspects of leadership have been presented as a source of information to better
understand leadership functions, practices, challenges, decision making, and effective communication
in the workplace (CSU Global, 2017). Organizational leaders should look beyond standard leadership
practices and be prepared to address and manage organizational problems and assess employees
behavior in a multicultural workplace environment (Schein, 2010). This capstone paper will briefly
address leadership skills learned, practiced, and the approach to further develop current individual
leadership qualities, to be an effective organizational leader moving forward.
Leadership Learned
Effective leadership entails exercising the appropriate leadership style and understanding an
organization s strategy, people, and the environment. In today s competitive environment, leaders not
only have to understand business and the organizational strategy, they should also know how to
strategically manage people. Effective leaders are cognizant of their leadership strengths and
weaknesses, and promote leader team information exchange to better understand team members
strengths and weaknesses. An assessment of the team s capabilities, can have a direct impact on the
organization s overall performance (Kunnanatt, 2016). Nonetheless, it has become clear that there is
no one size fit all leadership

Sweden was slightly higher as well at 9.6%. However, both countries were less than the United States
at 16.9%, Netherlands at 11.8% and France at 11.6%. ( OECD Health Statistics, 2014) The main
source of funding in all OECD countries is the public sector, except for the United States and Chile.
The most recent studies determined that in Sweden 81% of health spending is funded by the public,
which is above the OECD average of 72%. Canada s public funding is responsible for 70% of health
spending. ( OECD Health Statistics, 2014) Main Contributing Factors to Healthcare Spending For the
majority of OECD countries, the three main areas that contribute to the growth of healthcare
expenditures include; hospitals, physicians and pharmaceuticals. Population and an aging community
are also significant factors. (Ke et al., 2011) In the recent years, Canada s growth rate for healthcare
spending has slowed to approximately 1% in real terms during 2011 and 1.5% during 2012. The
decrease in spending is driven mainly by the slowdown in hospital spending, noted by a hospital
spending rate PPP per capita at $1,310 in 2012. ( OECD Health Statistics, 2014) Expired patents for
high volume and high cost brand name drugs and a decrease in generic drug costs in many provinces

New Orleans as time has progressed has become more susceptible than most cities when it comes to
the detrimental power of hurricane force and storm surges. There are two reasons for this. The first is
that New Orleans has a very low elevation relative to the surrounding sea level, the second is the lack
of Louisiana s natural defense against storm surges; that is the coastal wetlands and its barrier islands.
The location of the city has always been very low in relation to the sea level, but the amount of human
growth and expansion has caused the city to sink deeper into the landscape. When New Orleans was
originally being laid out they were in short supply of good, usable ... Show more content on

There were many storms that hit the gulf coast, but Katrina was a wakeup call.
As Katrina grew stronger and stronger, the warnings were crystal clear. As said by National Hurricane
Center Director Max Mayfield Aug. 28 as the storm approached;
All signs point to it becoming one of the strongest hurricanes ever to hit the United States.
One Weather Service meteorologist even voiced a very prophetic Katrina announcement, stating that:
Most of the area will be uninhabitable for weeks.
Even though the warnings were dire many people it believed as if very few in government had heard
their calls for help. Below is a partial transcript of an interview with a resident of New Orleans after
the flooding happened;
I can t know I cant get out. How am I [sigh] expected to get out? .
I m scared, I m so scared. I don t know what is going to happen,
The main big failure was the levee system. Three hundred fifty miles of levees and floodwalls that
were created to protect the city of New Orleans failed and the flooding allowed the entire Ninth Ward
and much more to be swept away. A field reporter described it as this after a few days of the flooding;
Over 80 percent of the area is under water, the residents are dealing with some of the worst of human
conditions in the world, definitely in the United States.
In the beginning, the Army Corps of Engineers insisted it was not at fault for the failure of the levees.

How Lean Manufacturing Helps Produce High Output With Low...
Lean Manufacturing seeks to produce high output with low inventory. Lean Manufacturing was
originally known as the Toyota production system invented by Sakichi Toyoda. The whole purpose is
to lower waste and increase profit and output. This paper will discuss the history of lean
manufacturing Lean manufacturing and the transition and steps involved with Just In time
manufacturing. Lean manufacturing defines waste as anything that absorbs resources but creates no
value. So what is considered waste? The main concepts of Just In Time manufacturing are to eliminate
waste and excess inventory stocks. Toyota was the developer of these techniques, a lot of Toyotas
concepts were derived from Henry Ford s methods. Toyota defined three broad types ... Show more

The fifth is inventory wastes this is when you have more inventory than needed which leads to a loss
of money. The sixth is waste of motion this includes simple actions of the employee having everything
were it is needed increases productivity. The seventh is waste from product defects; defects cause
rework and delay the process. Muri is the waste reduction process. Mura can be avoided if you have a
step by step process your employee must know every step they must take to get the process done. You
must set up repeatable process steps and must have times set for process to get done. When these steps
are set forth you should notice higher quality of finished product, improved productivity, and reduced
costs. Mura Identifies waste reduction which is an effective way to increase profits because any raw
product wasted is a loss in profits. Another section of Lean Manufacturing is Just in Time production.
The JIT philosophy, when carried out properly, reduces or eliminates major amounts of waste from
purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, and manufacturing business (Hay, 1988). There are three
basic components of flow, quality, and employee involvement. The first step is you must know what
waste is, Toyota defines waste as anything other than the minimum amount of equipment, materials,
parts, and working time absolutely essential to production (Hay, 1988). The

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Liras
It is obvious to us all how fast the e commerce sector has grown in our country and in the world.
Indeed, it had been estimated that the trading volume would reach the level of 54, 4 billion Turkish

same growth speed in the other half of the year. Within such a coherently growing sector, it has lately
been observed that some e commerce brands have a paradigm shift towards opening physical stores;
that is, they have a tendency towards starting up physical stores instead of remaining online only. This
system is called click to brick . Such hybrid structures, which provide a combination of the digital

complementing eachother can be hard for them.
Lastly, channel integration can become a zero sum game. While one side is getting all the advantages,

For taking all the advantages and minimizing the disadvantages above mentioned, it is essential to

America a Role in Iraq Essay
America a Role in Iraq
As Afghan opposition groups and U.S. armed forces continue their successes in the war against the
Taliban and al Qaeda, the American debate has quickly turned to the question of where the fight
against terrorism should go next. In numerous public statements, President Bush has talked about a
wide ranging campaign against global terrorism. He has not committed to military operations against
any other countries or terrorist organizations, but he has made it clear that the broader struggle against
terrorism will be a long lasting effort that could include the use of military force in regions beyond
Afghanistan.

policy, it was interpreted by many as a conscious effort to remind the world of the dangers posed by
Saddam and to begin to create a legal and political predicate to justify an eventual American attack
against him. Many overthrow advocates argue that the United States should remove Saddam
regardless of whether Iraq was involved in the September 11 terrorist attacks or not.
Absent compelling evidence of significant Iraqi involvement with the al Qaeda network or the events
of September 11, the likely costs and risks of a commitment of American military forces to a regime
change campaign in Iraq would outweigh the benefits. A U.S. overthrow campaign would entail a
large scale military operation that the United States would probably have to undertake essentially
alone; the increased risk of triggering terrorist attacks against American or allied targets; significant
American casualties given the potential for intense urban combat and Iraqi use of chemical and
biological agents; and the likely need for a long term American military presence in Iraq to avoid
regional destabilization. While these costs and risks are not so high as to rule out a possible overthrow
policy under certain circumstances, they should be sobering to any advocate of sending U.S. troops to
war to change the Iraqi regime. The central assumption behind this argument is that Saddam unlike the
religiously motivated Taliban/al Qaeda network is more interested in

The common theme my project will be focuses on is K means clustering.
The k means clustering problem can be described as following:
Given a set of n data points in d dimensional space R^d and an integer k. Find a set of k points/centers
in R^d, such that the mean squared distance from each data point to its nearest centre (one of the k
centers) is minimized.
Paper Summaries:
A local search approximation algorithm for k means clustering (2004)
The paper considered whether there exists a simple and practical approximation algorithm for k means
clustering.
It brings up the classical tradeoff between run time and approximation factor.
A local improvement heuristic based on swapping centers in and out that yields a (9 + ϵ)
approximation algorithm is presented. The paper also shows that any approach based on performing a
fixed number of swaps achieves an approximation factor of at least (9 ϵ) in all sufficiently high
dimensions by providing example.
In summary, the approximation factor is almost tight for algorithms based on methods that perform
fixed number swaps as shown by the paper.
The effectiveness of Lloyd type methods for the k means problem (2006)
This paper show that if the data satisfies a natural condition on separation/clusterability, then a near
optimal clustering result can be expected as various Lloyd style methods would have great
performance in such setting.
The major algorithmic contribution from

Deception In Greek
The Royal House of Athens is broken down into five distinct and unique myths all surrounding a
single mythological family in the city of Athens. Throughout the different myths, parallels of jealousy,
regret, and deception can be drawn from each of the separate pieces. Jealousy and/or lust is usually the
main cause of the tragedy, with one character falling in love or pursuing another and the other not
accepting it. In an effort to get revenge, deception is often used to fool another character into doing
something or believing something in order to benefit the other character. Following deception is
regret, and the myth typically ends on a distressed note. In this collection of myths, each of these
themes plays a major role in the tragedy of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She was married to Cephalus, but in a turn of events the Goddess of Dawn fell in love with him and
carried him off. Even still, Cephalus loved Procris more than the goddess, so she let him go, but upon
returning, he tested Procris faith to him by disguising himself as another man. Once she found out, she
was incredibly angry and left him, but he pursued her and found her. Once discovered, she eventually
forgave him and for a long time they continued to live contently until one day while hunting Cephalus
accidentally struck Procris with his spear. Leading from the third myth, the short myth of Orithyia and
Boreas introduces one of Procris sisters, Orithyia. It is said that the North Wind Boreas fell in love
with Orithyia, but the family and the people of Athens opposed the marriage because of the previous
tragedies that had been inflicted upon their lives. Relentless, the North Wind swept Orithyia away one
day, and they had two sons, Zetes and Calais, who would go on the Quest of the Golden Fleece. The
final myth surrounds the sister of both Procris and Orithyia, Creusa, who also faced a life of
misfortune. When she was young, Apollo found her and abducted her, and she bore a son that she
promptly left him to die. After many years, when she was trying to conceive a child with her husband,

On a cold Winter night two people lay to sleep. So far away but that would never stop the dreaming

It s nighttime in Concord. I began to grow tired as the time progresses to 10:30 pm. I go up the stairs

Just before I finally fall asleep I hear the train blow its whistle down the road from my house.

The Pros And Cons Of Double Jeeopardy
For most people that do not work in the legal world, the topic of law can be a dark unknown labyrinth
that makes even the most intelligent individuals feel overwhelmed by the many facets that make up
our system of law.
Although criminal law and civil law are separate sets of legislation and punishments, they can both be
entwined to deliver justice when needed; such as the case with Andrew Fastow, the Enron CFO who
was indicted on 78 counts of criminal and civil wrongdoing. ( Enron Fraud, 2017, para. 6) To
understand how this could happen without violating Fastow s right to Double Jeopardy, one needs to
look closely at criminal and civil laws separately. By doing so, you will see that Double Jeopardy only
applies to criminal cases, and not civil.
In civil law, a lawsuit filed by a private party can be either from a single person, a company or even
the federal government if the lawsuit claims that the Constitutional rights or federal statutes were
violated. For example, individuals who utilize government funded Medicaid for medical insurance
during a hospital visit and the hospital over bills the government. By doing so they are violating a
federal statute, and the government can file a civil lawsuit against the hospital. Additionally, the
plaintiff is responsible for proving each element of their claim. (Mallor, Barnes, Bowers, Langvardt,
2012, p. 38) Furthermore, civil cases are typically overheard by a judge unless one or both parties
specifically request a jury

Effective Prevention And Control Systems Within The...
In this phase, the role of ODP is majorly tasked with counseling patients to reduce their nervousness.
The patient needs to be taught about deep breathing, splinting, turning and purse lip breathing
exercises which would go a long way in ensuring that the patient does not develop complications from
the surgery such as circulatory conditions, pneumonia, and other respiratory issues. The main
precautions that take place in this phase include obtaining informed consent from the patient. The
surgeon should be present in this phase to answer questions about any concerns the patient may have
on the surgery. This will also help in reducing the patient s anxiety based on the information provided
by the physician. In the operative phase, effective prevention and control system within the operating
theatre is important as it helps in guaranteeing that any patient who undergoes surgery receives safe
and effective care (Porteous and Susanne 50). The financial and personal consequences that would
come from hospital acquired infections are rather enormous and thus healthcare practitioner work to
limit the likelihood of their occurrences within the operating theatre (Haugen 279). The theatre

physically caged due to the lack of control, but also their sense of self is caged behind mental barriers.
This is what happens to the narrator of The Yellow Wallpaper. The tearing down of the wallpaper

A Comparison Of The One Hundred Years War Between England...
A war that lasted for 116 years, starting before the Black Plague, taking a break during the Plague, and
starting again after the Black death ended. A war that went through many kings and started because of
bitter rivalries. The One Hundred Years War between England and France was caused by Edward III s
claim to Philip the Fair s throne, England holding fiefdoms in France, and the Flemish textiles made
by the people of Flanders. Let s clear something up first. Edward III was the king of England and the
grandson of Philip the Fair. Philip the Fair was the king of France before he died. When he died, his
heir Charles IV became king of France, he died without an heir to the throne of France. Edward III

in the dispute between England and France when the French want the Flemish to side with them
because the Flemish are French, but the English threaten to embargo the wool that the Flemish use to

that they needed the wool to make money. The One Hundred Years war went through many kings,

relationships even more bitter. All of this was caused by three things that may seem minor but ended

Economic Theories Of International Free Trade Essay
Throughout the centuries of economic theories, there have always been major disagreements amongst
economists. Each believing their theory provides a better explanation or solution to the economic
situations the globe finds itself in. The anomaly to these disagreements is the theory, first introduced
by Adam Smith, which states that international free trade is in the best interest of the trading countries
and the ever globalizing world as a whole. This essay shall compare the views of the great economists;
namely Adam Smith and David Ricardo, on their economic theories of international free trade.
Over the years of economic development and globalisation, trade has taken place between people and
countries. Dating back to the beginning of AD, trade occurred between the Roman Empire, Parthian
Empire and the Han Dynasty. During the days of colonisation, the colonised countries would export
the raw materials to the colonising countries and import the finished manufactured goods from them.
In the modern day, globalised world we live in, international trade occurs between countries
companies, peoples and governments by the second (Elena, 2015). There are often restrictions on
trade between countries, such as import taxes, to try incentives the population to buy domestically
produced goods.
Adam Smith, who is considered a pioneer of the great economists, was a Scottish born moral
Philosopher, political economist and thought of as a key figure in the Scottish enlightenment. He was

The article is about Jefferson who is an anthropology professor and who is interviewing his daughter and her Brazilian boyfriend how different places categorize race and ethnicity. He uses that as an example to demonstrate that there is no such thing as race it s a way that we have categorized things. Like here in the United States we see the avocado as a vegetable in Brazil they see it as a fruit and eat avocados for dinner. Stolen Generations In Australia The Report of the National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from Their Families 1997 better known as the Bringing Them Home Report brought to the fore the policies of separation and assimilation but also denial from several quarters of society specifically the Liberal Prime Minister Howard who referred to the whole sorry episode as a blemish in an Australian story of which all should otherwise be extremely proud, a heroic achievement in the face of immense difficulties. This blemish was genocide. It took place, as considered policy, for 70 years, in a stable Westminster parliamentary democracy. (Bartrop, 2001 p.84 85). With the election of a new Labor government 10 years after, came the apology to the stolen generations that the conservative Liberal government never did. • 8. Modeled Reading Through Shared Reading Modeled reading is often explained as the process of reading aloud, such as a teacher reading aloud to students or students reading aloud to each other (Sipe, 2002). However, the modelling process of the balanced literacy philosophy should be more than simply a teacher reading aloud to students or students reading aloud to each other as a class. Instead, modelling should involve teachers demonstrating the action of engaging with a text. For example, a teacher might engage in modelling by showing students the cover to a book and explaining how he or she can predictions about the content of the book from the cover, or reading the table of contents to gain some understanding of the information to be presented (Duke Pearson, 2002). Shared reading is the process of teachers and students engaging in shared reading activities as a way of teachers beginning to give students more independence and responsibility in reading instruction (Wall, 2014). For example, once a teacher has modeled making predictions from the cover or table or contents of a book, he or she might ask students to make predictions about the content of a book or other ... Identification and Evaluation of Sources: This investigation will answer the question, what caused the Iranian revolution to occur during a time of national progress and prosperity? The scope of this investigation is the events throughout the 20th century that put the family of monarch Mohammad Reza Pahlavi into power and the family s fall from power, but more focused on the latter. It s important to see how the Pahlavi family rose to power to understand the condition of the monarchy and what changed between the reigns of the different ... It is however limited in that it is translated from Turkish and has a number of phrases that require personal interpretation and therefore need to be assessed by other sources. The piece goes over the conflict between the current Shah, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, and the leader of the revolution Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. It also discusses how Ayatollah Khomeini s followers actually opposed each other, but opposed the Shah more. It also explains how the Shah s progressive attitude offended some for being too progressive, and some for not being progressive enough. This resulted in another conflict upon the abdication of the Shah, as to what the republic of Iran should be. In the end, Ayatolla Khomeini was declared Supreme Leader for life. Word Count: 491 Investigation: It s important to understand the background of how the Pahlavi family came into power. In the early 19th century, Iran was undergoing its Constitutional Revolution. The Shah at the time, Muzaffar al Din Shah, was near death, and decided to allow the revolution. A constitution was written, and a new Shah, Mohammad Ali Shah, succeeded Muzaffar al Din Shah (Balaghi). After you have setup your entire yard and have prepared it for the cooler months, be sure that you follow the next piece of garden care advice. You will need to take your sprinkler system and wrap it well. Any watering that you might need to do in the winter months should be done by hand with a detachable hose. In the evaluation of events, the three characters work in a way that seems private to each of them. They are all in the military in the Venetian Army where Othello is general, and the other two are his focusses. Iago is so much obsessed in two things, first one is to be a lieutenant, and the other is to marry Desdemona, the daughter of the most emotional character and a governor, Brabantio. Marketers are eager to find new ways on how to get into your subconscious to sell their product or deliver their message. This is what is called Stealth Marketing . Stealth Marketing is any marketing strategy that advertises to consumers without them knowing it. It is used in product placement, celebrity endorsements, and ad agents. PRODUCT PLACEMNET Product placement is practice in which manufacturers of goods or providers of a service gain exposure by paying for them to be featured in movies and TV programming. In the earlier days producers would approach companies to use their products in their films. During production of E.T., Amblin Productions and Steven Spielberg approached Mars, Inc. about a possible tie in between M M s and the film. For water reason, Mars said No to their proposition. By declining this offer, Mars paved the way for Hershey s Reese s Pieces. Hershey agreed to do a tie in between the movie and the candy after the film was released. A deal was contracted wherein Hershey Foods agreed to promote E.T. with $1 million of advertising: in return, Hershey could use E.T. in its own ads. (Mikkelson, 2011). The payoff was huge! Though it is assured by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang that China will never seek dominance (Roggeveen 2017), Australia should proceed with caution and firmness. Our alliance with the US historically has been to continue support of their presence in the APR though an increase of this could prove damaging based on what Levy describes as military escalation due to organisational structures and implementation (Levy 1986 pg. 193). There are two reasons for this. The first is that New Orleans has a very low elevation relative to the surrounding sea level, the second is the lack of Louisiana s natural defense against storm surges; that is the coastal wetlands and its barrier islands. Mura can be avoided if you have a step by step process your employee must know every step they must take to get the process done. You must set up repeatable process steps and must have times set for process to get done. When these steps are set forth you should notice higher quality of finished product, improved productivity, and reduced costs. Mura Identifies waste reduction which is an effective way to increase profits because any raw product wasted is a loss in profits. Another section of Lean Manufacturing is Just in Time production. The JIT philosophy, when carried out properly, reduces or eliminates major amounts of waste from purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, and manufacturing business (Hay, 1988). Many overthrow advocates argue that the United States should remove Saddam regardless of whether Iraq was involved in the September 11 terrorist attacks or not. Absent compelling evidence of significant Iraqi involvement with the al Qaeda network or the events of September 11, the likely costs and risks of a commitment of American military forces to a regime change campaign in Iraq would outweigh the benefits. A U.S. overthrow campaign would entail a large scale military operation that the United States would probably have to undertake essentially alone; the increased risk of triggering terrorist attacks against American or allied targets; significant American casualties given the potential for intense urban combat and Iraqi use of chemical and biological agents; and the likely need for a long term American military presence in Iraq to avoid regional destabilization. While these costs and risks are not so high as to rule out a possible overthrow policy under certain circumstances, they should be sobering to any advocate of sending U.S. troops to war to change the Iraqi regime. Find a set of k points/centers in R^d, such that the mean squared distance from each data point to its nearest centre (one of the k centers) is minimized. Paper Summaries: A local search approximation algorithm for k means clustering (2004) The paper considered whether there exists a simple and practical approximation algorithm for k means clustering. It brings up the classical tradeoff between run time and approximation factor. A local improvement heuristic based on swapping centers in and out that yields a (9 + ϵ) approximation algorithm is presented. The paper also shows that any approach based on performing a fixed number of swaps achieves an approximation factor of at least (9 ϵ) in all sufficiently high dimensions by providing example. In summary, the approximation factor is almost tight for algorithms based on methods that perform fixed number swaps as shown by the paper. The effectiveness of Lloyd type methods for the k means problem (2006) This paper show that if the data satisfies a natural condition on separation/clusterability, then a near optimal clustering result can be expected as various Lloyd style methods would have great performance in such setting. • 36. The Pros And Cons Of Double Jeeopardy For most people that do not work in the legal world, the topic of law can be a dark unknown labyrinth that makes even the most intelligent individuals feel overwhelmed by the many facets that make up our system of law. Although criminal law and civil law are separate sets of legislation and punishments, they can both be entwined to deliver justice when needed; such as the case with Andrew Fastow, the Enron CFO who was indicted on 78 counts of criminal and civil wrongdoing. ( Enron Fraud, 2017, para. 6) To understand how this could happen without violating Fastow s right to Double Jeopardy, one needs to look closely at criminal and civil laws separately. By doing so, you will see that Double Jeopardy only applies to criminal cases, and not civil. In civil law, a lawsuit filed by a private party can be either from a single person, a company or even the federal government if the lawsuit claims that the Constitutional rights or federal statutes were violated. For example, individuals who utilize government funded Medicaid for medical insurance during a hospital visit and the hospital over bills the government. By doing so they are violating a federal statute, and the government can file a civil lawsuit against the hospital. Additionally, the plaintiff is responsible for proving each element of their claim. (Mallor, Barnes, Bowers, Langvardt, 2012, p. 38) Furthermore, civil cases are typically overheard by a judge unless one or both parties specifically request a jury ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Effective Prevention And Control Systems Within The... In this phase, the role of ODP is majorly tasked with counseling patients to reduce their nervousness. The patient needs to be taught about deep breathing, splinting, turning and purse lip breathing exercises which would go a long way in ensuring that the patient does not develop complications from the surgery such as circulatory conditions, pneumonia, and other respiratory issues. The main precautions that take place in this phase include obtaining informed consent from the patient. The surgeon should be present in this phase to answer questions about any concerns the patient may have on the surgery. This will also help in reducing the patient s anxiety based on the information provided by the physician. In the operative phase, effective prevention and control system within the operating theatre is important as it helps in guaranteeing that any patient who undergoes surgery receives safe and effective care (Porteous and Susanne 50). The financial and personal consequences that would come from hospital acquired infections are rather enormous and thus healthcare practitioner work to limit the likelihood of their occurrences within the operating theatre (Haugen 279). The theatre practitioner must minimize the chances of the risks occurring during surgery and giving the patient the professional and efficient care that they require by following infection control procedures (McKean 104). During this phase, ODP are directly involved in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

BACKGROUND In my third year, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... CE.2.2.2. In a developing country such as Indonesia, power stations play an important role in the economy especially for specific and crucial industries in each island and city. The power station needs to be maintained to be as efficient as possible so the electricity can be distributed equally to each island and city. Besides equal distribution, it also needs to reduce power supply interruption and to minimize power loss to each location in specific time frames. The lecturer advised us to create an automated electrical unit system to cascade with the power grid to automatically distribute in each location or crucial area/industry. This problem had interested me and my team and we started to discuss each possibility to resolve the problem and what kind of suitable system would work. I investigated these tasks and problem through reading some journals and books to gain additional knowledge to resolve the problem After having some reading and discussion, I lead and gathered my team to discuss the option for the suitable system including the requirement needed for each options suggested by each person in the team. CE.2.2.3. ORGANIZATIONAL CHART CE.2.2.4. At the initial stage, I asked my team to give their opinions about the tasks and also what were their technical strengths. A war that lasted for 116 years, starting before the Black Plague, taking a break during the Plague, and starting again after the Black death ended. A war that went through many kings and started because of bitter rivalries. The One Hundred Years War between England and France was caused by Edward III s claim to Philip the Fair s throne, England holding fiefdoms in France, and the Flemish textiles made by the people of Flanders. The poor people of Flanders were caught up in the dispute between England and France when the French want the Flemish to side with them because the Flemish are French, but the English threaten to embargo the wool that the Flemish use to make their textiles. This caused the Flemish to side with the English instead of the French in the fact that they needed the wool to make money. • 43. Economic Theories Of International Free Trade Essay Throughout the centuries of economic theories, there have always been major disagreements amongst economists. Each believing their theory provides a better explanation or solution to the economic situations the globe finds itself in. The anomaly to these disagreements is the theory, first introduced by Adam Smith, which states that international free trade is in the best interest of the trading countries and the ever globalizing world as a whole. This essay shall compare the views of the great economists; namely Adam Smith and David Ricardo, on their economic theories of international free trade. Over the years of economic development and globalisation, trade has taken place between people and countries. Dating back to the beginning of AD, trade occurred between the Roman Empire, Parthian Empire and the Han Dynasty. During the days of colonisation, the colonised countries would export the raw materials to the colonising countries and import the finished manufactured goods from them. In the modern day, globalised world we live in, international trade occurs between countries companies, peoples and governments by the second (Elena, 2015). There are often restrictions on trade between countries, such as import taxes, to try incentives the population to buy domestically produced goods. Adam Smith, who is considered a pioneer of the great economists, was a Scottish born moral Philosopher, political economist and thought of as a key figure in the Scottish enlightenment. He was ...
