A movie product is the intellectual property that can be ported to a variety of deliverables: theatrical
exhibit, non theatrical exhibit, video tapes, DVDs, CDs of the soundtrack, collectible editions,
television and cable broadcast, Internet served etc. Then there is merchandising such as clothing, toys,
games, posters. Another product dimension is that of franchise rights, endorsements, product
placements and a host of offshoots that are bought and sold, leased and rented. The movie business is
one of the most complexes in the communications industry because of its creativity, its diversity and
its continual explosions of technological delivery options. PRICE At first glance, pricing in the movie
industry seems very standardized. At any multiplex is cinema hall, a movie ticket costs the same for
all movies, doesn t it? But if we look into the broader definition of the movie product just defined,
then the prices fluctuate widely. A distribution contract can be structured in many ways that result in
very different returns for the producer, the key creative talent, and even the distributor. Elements that
are negotiated include: ♣ Theatrical release schedules ♣ Territories and market segments ♣ Revenue
splits, percentages and order of payment ♣ Promotion budgets (P A) Apart from these pre consumer
stage pricing differences, we see a wide range of pricing structures

Atlantic Ocean Battle Definition
On April 12, 1861, the war began when the Confederated attacked Union soldiers at Fort Sumter,
South Carolina. The Civil War for the next four years was battled out in thousands of different
locations. They ranged from southern Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida Coast, New Mexico, and many
places in between. It was a wide range of land to fight but mainly was fought on Southern Ground.
The majority of the battles that took place during this time were in the States of Tennessee and
Virginia, but also in the Atlantic Ocean battles took place. The war ended in the spring of 1865 where
the last battle was found at Palmito Ranch in Texas on May 13, 1865. This war was defined as, a
violent conflict that pits states against one or more organized non state

The Trade Markets And East Asian Economies
As intended in the Global Europe strategy, the EU attempted to widen its trade market to East Asian
economies. South Korea was the first for the EU to start that aim. Generally, tariffs on over ninety
percent of goods are expected to be removed within 3 years and a total elimination of tariffs within 7
years for South Korea and within 5 years for the EU (Hwang and Kim, 2014). According to an
econometric estimation, the most beneficial sector from the FTA should be the service sector, which
could be liberalised up to seventy percent of the total (Copenhagen Economics and Francois, 2006).
The level of the developments of agricultural trades between the two sectors was stationary as there is
a large gap of surplus; the EU exported 1.39 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As seen above, South Korea suits a perfect partner for DG Trade s strategies: one it allows to open
markets for their exporters and two it exchanges pockets of protection such as service sector and
automotive sector (Siles Brugge, 2011). Nonetheless, negotiations experienced difficulties as the
South Korea negotiators were not acting as offensively as the European officials would want to. For
example, European negotiators suggested a substantial market access offer whilst Korean negotiators
wished a rather modest submission (ibid). This strategic behaviour from the Korean side eventually
brought more opportunities for the Korean automotive industry as an exchange to the service sector,
although Korean negotiators had to comply with the standardisation of non tariff barriers. The major
issues on non tariff barriers on automobiles were safety and environmental standards as the EU
insisted the Korean automobiles to be standardised with the regional market as the orientation of their
procedural regulations (Hwang and Kim, 2014). One of the propositions of the EU was to standardise
the level of regulation on non tariff barriers as the level of regulations

The Film Valkyrie
The film Valkyrie is the most popularised interpretation of the July 20th 1944 bomb plot. As with any
dramatisation it is possible for facts to be changed or only certain events to be shown to make it more
viewable and exciting. However, the film is largely considered accurate since they consulted many
credible historians, their main source being Peter Hofmann. He saw the war first hand, but only as a
child, and was therefore unable to truly grasp the events at the time. Later, however, he became
fascinated by the July 20th plot and would use it for his doctoral studies in Munich, West Germany.
This intellectual background would make his views considerably traditionalist and he is still
considered to belong to this school of history. Some more modern historians may claim that this could
make his views unreliable since he was subject to the Nazi war propaganda and the post war emphasis
on redeeming the population of Germany from blame by focussing research on the Nazi terror state,
instead of the actual part that the average German had in the regime and claiming that the large
proportion of them, were moral and democratic. This is a common criticism from many revisionist
historians since post war Germany had many potential motives against freedom of thought on both
sides of the wall. The western allies had learned from Versailles and were encouraging a cultural and
social shift towards their ideologies while the Russians were doing the same with communism. This
split,

Why Is It Important To Throw That Away
Have you ever seen something old and think that its trash but it s important to someone else? Well
there s someone out there that knows what I m talking about when I say that. When you think about it
there s tons of stuff that s important to people but everybody else thinks that it just needs to be thrown
away. Like when you see an old pillow that someone has you d probably think, that person needs to
throw that away. This essay is about something my cousin has that is really old and why it s important
to him. My cousin has an old war uniform from what I think is World War 2. It was given to him by
his grandpa a few years ago. He has kept it for some time despite his mom telling him to throw it
away since it took up space in his closet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One obvious change is how much it s gotten torn from his dogs playing with it so much. Another
obvious one is that the color has faded from green to greyish green. It has also become tattered since it
is never washed even though his mother is a clean freak. He always listens to his grandpas war stories
his favorite is when his grandpa cussed out his teammate for not going to some sort of practice.
I don t really know why it s important to him but I think it s because he wants to be a solder when he
grows up. Also he says that he will try to earn as many badges as his grandpa did while he was active.
He watches a lot of war shows whenever he gets the chance to. He says that he will where the uniform
when he goes to boot camp but i told him that he will get yelled at a lot more than he would he
normally. He goes with his grandpa to sea lot of war movies at his place and sometimes spends the
night. To conclude this he has a uniform that is important to him. The uniform is from World War 2
and was given to him by his grandpa. The uniform is old, torn, tattered, and faded. It s really important
to him and gives him motivation to be a solder one day. Next time you someone with something old

Scott s Miracle Gro Case Summary
Objective The objective of this study is to decide the best decision for Scott s Miracle Gro on whether
to outsource their production to china or stay in the Temecula plant in California. Factors such as
risks/benefits, and cost analysis will be considered in reaching an outcome onto what will be the best
option for Scott s Miracle Gro in order to maximize profit, efficiency, and long term growth.
Suggestions The best option for Scott s Miracle Gro is to stay in the United States. This will benefit
the company financially and will help keep the product quality standards high. However, some
production cost need to be cut down in order to remain competitive and keep profit at a percentage
they would make if the company would outsource ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A cost analysis has been performed for Scotts Miracle Gro using the location of Temecula, CA and the
estimated usage of 8,000,000 kWh s of electricity per year. It has been determined that by
implementing solar energy panels to offset 50% of the plants annual electricity usage, this will provide
the company with the following incentives (please refer to Exhibit 2 for the full cost analysis): An
average monthly savings of $559,600, An average 25 year savings of $279,660,603.33, A ROI of
215.82%, Only a 14.58 breakeven point, 30% Annual Federal Tax Credit, and The peace of mind
knowing that the company is helping offset their carbon emission to protect our diminishing
environment, also creating a good public image. Raw Materials Costs In 2006, Scotts Miracle Gro
spent $105.8 million in raw materials, a $28.3 million increase from 2005 (Supply Chain
Management, 155). Although this increase in raw material costs is partly attributed to price inflation,
Scotts Miracle Gro can implement new production processes to save in raw material costs. The most
predominant raw material used by Scotts Miracle Gro products is plastic resin. In order to save on
costs, the Temecula plant should find ways to reduce material input without changing the quality of
the product. Also, excess plastic resin should be recycled back into the production process. Not only
will this decrease the amount of raw materials used and wasted, but it will also help decrease the
disposal cost of used

Self-Assessment
Humans have a fundamental tendency to seek positive information of themselves, namely engage in
self enhancing (Sedikides, 1993; Swann, Pelham, Krull, 1989). However, individuals are also
motivated to seek the subjective truth of themselves, namely engage in self verifying. (Sedikides,
1993; Swann et al., 1989). Simultaneously, individuals struggle and deject to seek objective and
accurate truth of themselves, namely engage in self assessing (Sedikides, 1993). Self assessment can
occur through the process of self awareness, where individuals become conscious about their behavior
and thoughts and regulate according to their internal standards and values (Huggon, 2014).

Reflection In Society
Have you ever wondered what it s like to live in the shoes of someone who s autistic or has extreme
social anxiety? Either of these things can make functioning in society very difficult, but not
impossible. At least that s what I believe, some people disagree with that. The author seems to believe
that is impossible to function in society if either of these things affect you. It is possible to function in
society, it just takes a lot of patience and practice. Haddon portrays that if you are suffering from
autism, then you can t function in society at all. He makes it so that Christopher doesn t liked being
touched by people so much, that he ll scream or hit someone if he s touched. No matter what affects
you, this is the behavior of a child. On page 8 it says The policeman took hold of my arm and lifted
me onto my feet. I didn t like him touching me like this. And this is when I hit him. Yes people with
autism have a harder time functioning in society, but at the age Christopher is, he should know that
you can t just hit people when they touch you. On page 137 it says So I got out my Swiss Army knife
and I flicked out the saw blade and I held it tightly in the pocket that Toby wasn t in so that I could
stab someone if they grabbed hold of me, . This is a very dangerous thing to do, if Christopher does
pull out his knife on someone, then he could get in a lot of trouble. This is an extreme reaction to
someone just touching him, it s very childish. In the book

Anabolic Steroids And Substance Steroids
According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary anabolic steroids are any of a group of usually synthetic
hormones that are derivatives of testosterone, are used medically specially to promote tissue growth,
and are sometimes abused by athletes to increase the size and strength of their muscles and improve
endurance. The main purpose of anabolic steroids is to gain strength and muscle very quickly and
faster than any other drug enhancement. There are many types of models that relate to anabolic
steroids. One model is high school athletes who use anabolic steroids and would mostly fall in the
performance enhancer model category. Many may ask, what exactly are performance enhancement
drugs? Performance enhancement drugs are substances used to improve any form of activity
performance in humans. There are many experiments done on the use of anabolic steroids within high
schools. According to the Huffington Post as of 2011, 13 percent of boys who play football in high
school take anabolic steroids and that is just football players. All of these young athletes who take
steroids use the drug to become stronger. An average of 8.8 percent of female high school athletes
have also tried or currently use anabolic steroids. The crave to have a buffed body is a big trend for
young adults. A study from the University of Michigan showed that in 1992, 72 percent of high school
seniors believed that those using steroids risked harming themselves (Are Student Athletes Taking

Political Instability And Armed Conflicts
The Arab world today is shrouded in controversy. Political instability and armed conflicts are
portrayed as the norm throughout the Middle East. According to the pseudo regional specialists, the
causes behind all the conflicts faced are obvious, religion and radicalism. Yet this fails to answer the
question, why , which opens the door to better understand the foundation of the present day Arab
states. This questions the origins to why the Arabs chose to leave the Ottoman Empire and take
support from the British Empire, which at the time seemed contradictory. Unless British involvement
with the Arabs had enticed the revolution, then to what extent did European Jihadist propaganda sway
the Arabs to revolt against the Ottoman Empire in 1916? This paper will discuss that the Arab revolt
against the Ottomans was in an effort take control of the Arab territories for themselves without the
need for external influence to push them into making the decision. As such, the alternative explanation
would be that Sharif Hussein was influenced by the British into believing that the revolt was his
opportunity to liberate the Arabs from the Ottomans. Illustrating this point will be by examining
circumstances that had led to the Arab s decision, understanding how European intervention and
motives shaped the revolt, and assessing the incentives the Arabs had for revolting. In order to fully
understand the nature of the revolt from the eyes of the Arabs, and their reasons for their actions

Comments on the Arrangement and Structure of The Primal Place
The Primal Place is a book written by Robert Finch about his experiences, thoughts, and feelings
regarding Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The book s 241 pages are divided into 2 large Parts ; Digging In
and Going Out . Within these Parts , there are thirteen chapters. Chapters one through six are
contained in Digging In and chapters seven through thirteen are contained in Going Out . Each chapter
is divided into numerical sections to further organize Finch s thoughts. These various divisions greatly

It is clear that he loves the nature and history of Cape Cod. In the preface, Finch states that Cape Cod
created within him a passion for discovery (Finch X) His style is very expressive; he utilizes long,
descriptive sentences.
Delivery:
Most aspects of the books delivery don t help it or harm it in communicating its message. However,
the front and back covers play a role in the book s message. The image depicted on the front is a
beautiful painting of the dunes and beach of Cape Cod. The fact that it is a painting gives the viewer
the sense that it is old and contains rich history. It also may entice the reader to discover more about
the beautiful location.
Personal Response Overall, I enjoyed The Primal Place by Robert Finch. It was probably the book I
enjoyed the most from our nature writing unit. I think he managed to describe nature well and
thoroughly without dragging on for too long. He also seemed less radical than Dillard, Ehlrich, and
Thoreau, which made him more relatable. Also, the topics of his writing are more varied. He discusses
the ecology and history of Cape Cod and relates them well to the present. I could see lots of Thoreau
influence in the book, mainly in the chapter structure. Both Thoreau and Finch often begin a chapter
with smaller observations and extend them to more profound

Ketchup Research Papers
Do you like eating something sweet? You may say yes, or no. But no matter what you answer, it s sure
that you will ingest sugar more or less every day, since the main food like rice, wheat and potato are
mostly made of a kind of sugar called starch. Besides of eating main food, most of us will eat some
snacks, like candy, potato chips, or have some soft drinks. It seems this kind of life is normal, but
WTO (2015) suggests that an adult male should reduce the sugar intake to around 8 teaspoons (about
32 grams) and adult woman should reduce to around 6 teaspoons (about 24 grams). What s the
concept about this? We should know a fact that a teaspoon of ketchup contains about 1 teaspoon of
sugar and a bottle of soft drinks contains about 10 teaspoons of sugar. What we eat are now full of
sugar. We re in an age of excessive sugar , which can be harmful to the health. And the situation

This can be associated with a concept named sugar addiction . It seems it s hard to connect sugar with
addiction , because we eat sugar every day, and we tend to connect addiction to something that sounds
more chemical like drugs. But some researches show that sugar addiction really exists. According to
the research of Avena, Rada and Hoebel (2008), sugar can be a kind of addiction material. It is found
that sugar can make human body to release opioids and dopamine, which are two kinds of substances
that are considered as addictable. This article summarizes the evidence of sugar dependence in an
animal model, and the evidence supports the hypothesis that rats can become sugar addicted under
certain circumstances. Also, the research of Wideman, Nadzam and Murphy (2005) indicates the
effects of sugar addiction, withdrawal and relapse are similar to the effects of drugs addiction. From
the researches about the mechanism of being addicted to sugar, we can see that it s possible to let a
man become addicted to

The Railway that Benefitted All
The Canadian Pacific Railway and its benefits to farmers, financiers, and consumers.

CHC2Da
The Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) is commonly argued to be the most important transportation
route in Canadian history, but most do not know the substantial benefits it provided. More specifically,
it provided benefits to farmers, financiers, and consumers. The financiers of the railway were the
group of people that the railway benefitted the most, mainly because of the significant amount of use
it received in the 19th century. During the 1800s and early 1900s the farmers of Canada benefitted
greatly from the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway because of the ease ... Show more

Overall, the financiers of the railway had benefitted tremendously from the amount of money being
brought in by the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The construction of the CPR also
provided many benefits for consumers in Canada at the time of being built, as well as after for many
years to come. Receiving goods was made much easier through the use of the CPR to deliver products
to the eastern part of Canada. This was mostly just a convenience for consumers rather than really
benefitting them financially. As a result of easier transportation to the eastern Canada, the price of
food and goods was far less coming from the west because of the low shipment costs issued by the
CPR, which was a financial benefit for the consumers of Canada. The standard of living in turn was
increased by the lower costs of items needed for the standard every day life of citizens living in
Canada. This was mostly apparent in the lower to middle class division in that time, where obvious
gains were apparent, so the new immigrants and poor began to lift out of poverty at a substantial rate.
Another benefit that consumers had was that they were not required to pay tariffs on the CPR; only the
clients of the railway were required to pay fares to the financiers, which was another convenience for
consumers. To put it simply, Canada s consumers weren t drastically affected by the construction of

Overcoming Cross Cultural Differences Of Communication
Overcoming cross cultural differences in communication at Tearroir
单丝不成线,独木不成林
A single thread cannot become a cord, and a single tree does not make a forest. This Cheng Yu is
about cooperation and being part of a larger whole. Its roots stem from Confucian beliefs of organized
society through togetherness. This is in stark contrast to the emphasis placed on individualism in some
Western countries.
Introducton
Tearroir is a global tea brand that sources premium loose leaf tea from 7 countries. The need to
overcome cross cultural difference in communication is a major issue in achieving affective
knowledge transfer and performance in today s globalised world (Holden, Von Kortzfleisch, 2004,
pp127). Knowledge evolves as both organisations and individuals adapt to internal/external
environments, it is one of the most important assets for any organisation (Rivera Vazquez, Ortiz
Fournier, Flores, 2009, pp257). Cross cultural differences are never more of a barrier to successful
communication inl business than in the case of verbal and non verbal communication (McShane,
Olekalns, Travaglione, 2010, pp367). Tearroir s mission statement is the best teas on Earth for this to
be realised we need to be effective communicators with people from varied cultural backgrounds.
Cross cultural communication issues often occur because people react to situations based on beliefs,
values and expectations of their own culture, the examples of face and guan xi will be discussed in the

My First Day Of Band Freshman Year
My first day of band freshman year, I remember sitting in the seats of the auditorium while the band
teacher, Mr. Greene asked me which instrument I play. I ve played so many in the past, but I decided
to tell him keyboard over all the other instruments I had played. This was what brought me to the
percussion section where I had to learn instruments I had never even heard of before: frame drums,
cabasas, and güiros. I had to put myself out of my comfort zone to help the band as a whole in
concerts and competitions. Wherever I was needed to help the band is where I d go. Mr. Greene was
an amazing director for the band, our band sounded amazing every time we played. He made sure
everyone could play each part of every song correctly. He never felt bad about calling people out and
asking them if they could play a tough collection of measures in a song because he expected us to take
charge of our own learning of the music. If we didn t put the time into learning a piece, we just didn t
get to play it with the band. I myself had to learn to play pieces on instruments I had never played
before, but I went at it to the best of my ability, because I knew the band depended on me to play my
part correctly to make everything sound right in the end. Over the course of my 4 years at high school,
I had successfully played the snare drum, the bass drum, the xylophone, the chime and the crash
cymbals. All vastly different and instruments I hadn t even thought of picking up before. But Mr.

In Amy Zhang s, Falling Into Place, Liz Emerson looks up to her father when she is a young girl, and
losing him is catastrophic:
On the first day of preschool, Liz dug her fingers into the leg of her father s jeans and held on tight as
the overly sunny teacher tried to drag her into the overly sunny classroom. Her dad leaned down and
told her to make a wish. Tearfully, Liz asked her daddy to stay with her. He promised to never leave.
On the first day of school after her father s funeral, Monica [Liz s mother] dropped Liz off for the first
time. Monica didn t try to hug her, and Liz didn t ask her to stay. (Zhang 73)
As a preschool child, Liz s best friend is her father. He takes her out on little expeditions when they
have days off, and allows her to be herself when her mother is out on business trips. She loves him,
but he dies just as she begins aging into the state where she craves independence. His death forces her
into a deeper isolation and with an absent mother, she feels more alone than ever. This contributes to
her decision to crash her car and she specifically chooses the same day that her father died on. Liz
wants her mother to only suffer through one day of pain a year, believing that her mother does not care
for her as much as she truly

The Theory Of Moral Reasoning
he tension between reason and emotion in the human psyche has intrigued philosophers and
psychologists for centuries. Under this theme, moral psychologists have investigated the roles of
reason and emotion in making moral judgements, which, in the context of moral dilemmas, involves
evaluating the acceptability of an action, given the virtues held by a specific culture (Haidt, 2001).
Moral reasoning involves the conscious, effortful, and controllable mental manipulation of
information, while moral emotions involve spontaneous, affectively charged judgements that lack
conscious reasoning (Haidt, 2001). While earlier rationalist approaches argued that moral reasoning
formed the basis of our moral judgements (Kohlberg, 1981), more recent approaches, such as Haidt s
(2001) Social Intuitionist Model, emphasise the role of affective processes, arguing that reasoned
judgements are rare, and that most examples of reasoning are simply post hoc rationalisations of
emotionally grounded judgements. The dual process model (DPM) (Greene, Nystrom, Engell, Darley,
Cohen, 2004) consolidates these two approaches, proposing that reason and emotion are distinct and
equally important processes, which are elicited to different extents by particular features of moral
situations, competing to form the final moral judgement. Under this model, Greene et al. (2004) made
a key distinction between personal and impersonal moral dilemmas. In the Trolley Dilemma, a
runaway trolley will kill five men

Personal Statement Of Purpose Of Biology And Science
Mark Twain once said: The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day
you find out why. This quotation sums up that everybody should have a purpose in their life. My
purpose is to become a person who will develop and cut up a positive trace in science.
I am looking forward to studying biology and sociology. The human body is very fascinated, and it is
amazing that every atom is important in order to move the body. I took biology as one of my subjects
in International Baccalaureate. We worked with sections of frogs and fishes. I enjoyed doing it and I
thought, This physiology is very similar to human anatomy, and this is something that I got to learn

Einstein states: Most people say that it is the intellect which makes a great physician. They are wrong:
it is a character. Every talented person can become a doctor, but not all of him or her became a good

The Cultural Structuring Of Mealtime Socialization

Shattered Socialization
The ways of the past are becoming more and more obsolete as the years go by, because our society is
rewriting how we should live our lives on a daily basis. With this world constantly changing we have
shattered our socialization for the worst when nit comes to communication with other people on a
daily basis. Mealtimes have become scares, because everyone wants to do their own thing, get done
quick for the day light is fleeting fast, and most importantly no one has anything to talk about when
they come home. According to Elinor and Shohet in their article The Cultural Structuring Of Mealtime
Socialization expresses the issue of mealtime socializing. They state the mealtimes are more of a
tradition passed down from generation to generation and then becomes a symbol with in a home.
(Elinor and Shohet, 36) With them implying that parents actually have to take effort in passing this
tradition down to their children and so forth has become a dying art form, because of the lack of
parenting and teaching. According to Mona and Benga their article The Relationship Between Cultural
Model, Socialization Goals And Parental Ethnotheories: A Mixed Method Study Brings up a lot of
good points about how children learn from their parents. There are three main key factors that help out
with these socialization issues passed on to each generation. They are, Parental Cultural Models,

Electricity Is A Natural Phenomenon
Electricity is the directional flow of electrons between atoms. Electricity is a natural phenomenon and
is one of the most commonly utilized forms of energy. Electricity is used in order to do work, such as
generating heat and light. Electricity is measured in watts. Watts are the measurement of power
(current * voltage). Current is the flow of electrons measured in amperes (Amps). One ampere is the
amount of current when one coulomb (6.25 x 10^18 electrons) of charge moves past a point over one
second. Voltage is the force that causes electrons to move in a circuit. A volt is defined as the
electrostatic difference between two points when one joule of energy is used to move one coulomb of
charge from one point to the other. (NDT Resource Center, 2013) A joule is the measurement of
energy that is used when one watt of power does work for one second (also known as watt seconds).
When measuring electricity in large numbers, the standard unit of measurement is kilowatt hour. This
determines the rate at which energy is being used, and how energy is quantified in the United States.
One kilowatt hour is equivalent to 3,412.14163 British Thermal Units (BTU s). One BTU is the
amount of energy required to heat one pound of water by 1°F (Princeton, 2013).
The current method of energy generation is from burning fossil fuels to generate electricity. However,
this method is inefficient because most of the energy invested in burning fossil fuels is converted into
heat instead of

Foils Of Fortinbras In Hamlet
A story would go nowhere without the characters making something happen. Characters are used for
everything in a story, they set the scene, make the plot happen, and everything inbetween.
Characterization is a major deal for writers because without proper characterization, the plot will not
be able to go the way they want it to. This is also a big factor for the play, Hamlet, by William
Shakespeare. He uses so many different characters to really push certain things to the audience, and to
make the reader understand it so well. The use of the foils, which is the use of two completely
opposite characters, in the play really helps get across the point that Shakespeare wants to convey to
the reader . Without the use of these foils, the play ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

was not quick to avenge his father s death, was quick to many other actions, and Horatio was a lot
more guarded on what he thought Hamlet should do. Without Horatio, no one would have been

Forecasting By Vector Autoregression Models
CHAPTER NINE
FORECASTING BY VECTOR AUTOREGRESSION MODELS
9.1 Vector Autoregressive (VAR) Models
Vector Autoregression (VAR) models were introduced by the macro econometrician Christopher Sims
(1980) to model the joint dynamics and causal relations among a set of macroeconomic variables. The
vector autoregression (VAR) is commonly used for forecasting systems of interrelated time series and
for analyzing the dynamic impact of random disturbances on the system of variables. The VAR
approach sidesteps the need for structural modeling by treating every endogenous variable in the
system as a function of the lagged values of all of the endogenous variables in the system.
The vector autoregression (VAR) model is one of the most successful, flexible, and easy to use models
for the analysis of multivariate time series. It is a natural extension of the univariate autoregressive
model to dynamic multivariate time series. The VAR model has proven to be especially useful for
describing the dynamic behavior of economic and financial time series and for forecasting. It often
provides superior forecasts to those from univariate time series models and elaborate theory based
simultaneous equations models. Forecasts from VAR models are quite flexible because they can be
made conditional on the potential future paths of specified variables in the model.
In addition to data description and forecasting, the VAR model is also used for structural inference and
policy analysis. In structural

Driving On The Road Rage
Drivers come in many different types, and each has their own characteristics. When you are driving,
you can encounter a lot of different types of drivers. The four most known ones are the aggressive
driver, the speeder, the kind driver, and the multitasker. All four of these characteristics are very
different so you will be able to tell which drivers fall in which categories. Every driver has a
destination they are trying to reach and these four characteristics of drivers have a different way of
reaching that destination. When you are driving on the roads, you will likely encounter an aggressive
driver. They usually make themselves noticeable by cutting people off and yelling at other drivers.
They seem to always be in a rush to get to their destination so they will do what they need to do to get
there. Other aggressive drivers can be the type to yell and curse at other drivers because of frustration
which is known as road rage. Someone that has road rage typically will get upset over something that
is not a big deal and yell at other drivers. These type of drivers are the ones people try to avoid so they
do not get involved in a confrontation so they just ignore them. No matter where you are driving, there
are drivers that speed all around you. Some people will go twenty miles an hour over the speed limit
just because they want to get to their destination faster. They will cut people off just to be able to
maintain a high speed. There are many risks when someone is

One Trip To The Trashcan
Times are tough, and more people are cooking at home than dining out. However, some of them are
starting to get frustrated with how much time it takes to prepare a good meal. Here are three great tips
to make cooking faster, easier, and more enjoyable. Cooking Tip #1: Make One Trip to the Trashcan
Running back and forth to the trashcan is aggravating (as well as inefficient). You can make only one
trip by lining a colander, sink strainer, small trash can, or other wide mouthed receptacle with a plastic
shopping bag and keeping it next to your cutting board. If your cutting board happens to be right next
to the sink, place the lined receptacle in the basin. Otherwise place the receptacle at your feet (but be
careful not to trip over it). Toss ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Limiting the use of our utilities is not only beneficial to our budget but also to the environment as
well. Here are several useful and lesser known tips in conserving energy while you are in the kitchen.
While being in the kitchen, the stove is one of the main items that will use up the most energy, so it is
important to be wise with your energy consumption when cooking on it. Adjust the burners when
using a gas based cooking top so that the flames just barely touch or are a tad lower than the bottom of
the pans you are cooking on. Flames that curl around a pan waste more energy. However, if you are
using an electric cook top, put the pan on a coil that is similar in size. Place the pan so that its bottom
lies absolutely flat on the burner. This will conserve a great deal of energy. Also, when using an
electric stove, set the burners on high first and then proceed to lower it to finish the cooking. For
dishes that aren t pans, turn off the burner completely at the end as the element will hold the heat for
several minutes. In addition to your stoves, the oven vent on an electrical range can be very useful. If
you are using an oven vent on an electrical range, you will find that the vent is under one of the
burners. While the oven is in use, you will be able to feel the hot air flowing through the vent. For
dishes that you would like to warm, set them on that burner. This will minimize the use of a
microwave and will also optimize the use of your burners. Now, for dishes that need to cook for long
periods of time, particularly over an hour, there is no need to preheat your oven (unless you are
cooking a turkey that needs a crisp skin). For dishes that must be cooked just under an hour, extend
the cooking time for a little bit. The only preheating that is required is for dishes that have a short
baking time. Although this seems like a very obvious tip

Women In Sandra Cisneros s Woman Hollering Creek
Thesis: In the short story Woman Hollering Creek, Sandra Cisneros emphasizes the importance of
having a female figure to look up to in order to overcome the oppression women are subjected to in a
patriarchal society.
Cisneros creates the conflict of love between Cleofilas and her husband, Juan Pedro, in which they
struggle with because of the constant mistreatment he exerts upon her. Although love is an intense
feeling that is often expressed through affection and intimacy, Cleofilas believes that love is always
physical, and when conveyed, it is also painful. As she watches her current favorite telenovela Tu o
Nadie, (You or No One), she begins to think the way one should live there life is by only wanting one
person and nobody else and that To suffer for love is good (45) and The pain is all sweet somehow in
the end (Cisneros 45). Because of her lack of female guidance and better representation of a realistic
relationship between a husband and wife, she automatically assumes that her husband s beatings
towards her are love, when they are undoubtedly, domestic violence. Furthermore, Cleofilas
consistently thought that If any man were to strike her, she would strike back (48). However, that was
not the case when Juan Pedro hit her for the first time. After He slapped her twice, Cleofilas stood in
shock and Did not fight back, break into tears, or run away (47). Regardless of her lack of self
defense, the slaps left her speechless because it took her by surprise,

The Glue That Makes All The Good Grades
Think Back to high school, when you were in class with 30 other students. You do all the work, make
all the good grades and someone else gets all the credit. In my high school days, we called these
people teachers pets . These people made it seem like everything was about them. They wanted to
control everything and most of the students wanted to tell this student off but couldn t because the
teacher would always take their side. Now, in this play we have a mother named Amanda and like the
teacher s pet, Amanda wants to control every aspect of her children s life. May I add, that the children
that she tried to control are well above the legal adult age. The children, like the other students in the
classroom, wanted to tell her off but it wouldn t be of any value because they had no backing. Amanda
is truly the glue that makes this play what it is today. Amanda is the most important character in this
play because she wants to live her life through her kids, everything that went wrong was because of
her, and because of her nagging ways.
Amanda truly wants to live her life though her children life at any cost. Just like any parent Amanda
wants to have her children succeed in life. She truly wants her children to go on and enjoy their life
and I believe that she feels disappointed because she can t give them what they need to survive the rest
of their life s because she isn t financially stable enough for this. Since she can t give them what they
need, she pushes them to

Why Do Books Shouldn T Be Banned
Books shouldn t be banned and i say this with a bold confident voice. The book challenges such as
sexually explicit or offensive language or even violence helps to teach the reader not to do these things
readers understand it s just a book and nothing more in fact the reader will take out a lot out of books
like that because it teaches them the effects and consequences if that reader did decide to go down one
of those paths. I believe strongly that us American citizens we are free and by them banning books
from us it s them take away our rights and freedoms.
In text one in the beginning it talks about how we the people are given free speech and by them doing
this they are taking away this right from us and it will only get worse. Text one lines 1 3 Most
Americans agree that the First Amendment right to freedom of expression is one of the most sacred
provisions of the US Constitution, a cornerstone of American democratic values.
Book banning is something that is so unnecessary it does nothing but away the rights of the people if
the book is to sexual or violent to read then you as a US citizen have the right to not read it you aren t
forced upon it. In the beginning of text 4 one school ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In life, the line that separates victims from perpetrators is as clear as a window pane, but in some
situations that window can crack, causing damage and danger. A victim is someone who has been
harmed, or worse, due to a crime or accident. A perpetrator is a person who has committed a crime,
either accidently or purposely. Three stories that capture this blurred line are Shattered, an Australian
Story episode on ABC s website, The Story of Tom Brennan, a story written by Australian author

Nero s Domus Aurea And The Colosseum
The Colosseum has been standing for over 1900 years but before discussing the Colosseum s
achievements, it is important to understand the historical context and background of the building. How
can a place go from being a symbol of extreme tyranny and private wealth to a symbol of one of the
greatest entertainment venues and architectural feats? The Roman Colosseum did just that. It
completely changed the public attitude and activity since it was built upon the grounds of what was
once the part of Golden House of Nero (Domus Aurea). Although both Nero s Domus Aurea and the
Colosseum are architecturally supreme and complex, the area holds rich history of private decadent

  • 4. The Trade Markets And East Asian Economies As intended in the Global Europe strategy, the EU attempted to widen its trade market to East Asian economies. South Korea was the first for the EU to start that aim. Generally, tariffs on over ninety percent of goods are expected to be removed within 3 years and a total elimination of tariffs within 7 years for South Korea and within 5 years for the EU (Hwang and Kim, 2014). According to an econometric estimation, the most beneficial sector from the FTA should be the service sector, which could be liberalised up to seventy percent of the total (Copenhagen Economics and Francois, 2006). The level of the developments of agricultural trades between the two sectors was stationary as there is a large gap of surplus; the EU exported 1.39 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As seen above, South Korea suits a perfect partner for DG Trade s strategies: one it allows to open markets for their exporters and two it exchanges pockets of protection such as service sector and automotive sector (Siles Brugge, 2011). Nonetheless, negotiations experienced difficulties as the South Korea negotiators were not acting as offensively as the European officials would want to. For example, European negotiators suggested a substantial market access offer whilst Korean negotiators wished a rather modest submission (ibid). This strategic behaviour from the Korean side eventually brought more opportunities for the Korean automotive industry as an exchange to the service sector, although Korean negotiators had to comply with the standardisation of non tariff barriers. The major issues on non tariff barriers on automobiles were safety and environmental standards as the EU insisted the Korean automobiles to be standardised with the regional market as the orientation of their procedural regulations (Hwang and Kim, 2014). One of the propositions of the EU was to standardise the level of regulation on non tariff barriers as the level of regulations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Film Valkyrie The film Valkyrie is the most popularised interpretation of the July 20th 1944 bomb plot. As with any dramatisation it is possible for facts to be changed or only certain events to be shown to make it more viewable and exciting. However, the film is largely considered accurate since they consulted many credible historians, their main source being Peter Hofmann. He saw the war first hand, but only as a child, and was therefore unable to truly grasp the events at the time. Later, however, he became fascinated by the July 20th plot and would use it for his doctoral studies in Munich, West Germany. This intellectual background would make his views considerably traditionalist and he is still considered to belong to this school of history. Some more modern historians may claim that this could make his views unreliable since he was subject to the Nazi war propaganda and the post war emphasis on redeeming the population of Germany from blame by focussing research on the Nazi terror state, instead of the actual part that the average German had in the regime and claiming that the large proportion of them, were moral and democratic. This is a common criticism from many revisionist historians since post war Germany had many potential motives against freedom of thought on both sides of the wall. The western allies had learned from Versailles and were encouraging a cultural and social shift towards their ideologies while the Russians were doing the same with communism. This split, ... • 6. Why Is It Important To Throw That Away Have you ever seen something old and think that its trash but it s important to someone else? Well there s someone out there that knows what I m talking about when I say that. When you think about it there s tons of stuff that s important to people but everybody else thinks that it just needs to be thrown away. Like when you see an old pillow that someone has you d probably think, that person needs to throw that away. This essay is about something my cousin has that is really old and why it s important to him. My cousin has an old war uniform from what I think is World War 2. It was given to him by his grandpa a few years ago. He has kept it for some time despite his mom telling him to throw it away since it took up space in his closet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One obvious change is how much it s gotten torn from his dogs playing with it so much. Another obvious one is that the color has faded from green to greyish green. It has also become tattered since it is never washed even though his mother is a clean freak. He always listens to his grandpas war stories his favorite is when his grandpa cussed out his teammate for not going to some sort of practice. I don t really know why it s important to him but I think it s because he wants to be a solder when he grows up. Also he says that he will try to earn as many badges as his grandpa did while he was active. He watches a lot of war shows whenever he gets the chance to. He says that he will where the uniform when he goes to boot camp but i told him that he will get yelled at a lot more than he would he normally. He goes with his grandpa to sea lot of war movies at his place and sometimes spends the night. To conclude this he has a uniform that is important to him. The uniform is from World War 2 and was given to him by his grandpa. The uniform is old, torn, tattered, and faded. It s really important to him and gives him motivation to be a solder one day. It has been determined that by implementing solar energy panels to offset 50% of the plants annual electricity usage, this will provide the company with the following incentives (please refer to Exhibit 2 for the full cost analysis): An average monthly savings of $559,600, An average 25 year savings of $279,660,603.33, A ROI of 215.82%, Only a 14.58 breakeven point, 30% Annual Federal Tax Credit, and The peace of mind knowing that the company is helping offset their carbon emission to protect our diminishing environment, also creating a good public image. Raw Materials Costs In 2006, Scotts Miracle Gro spent $105.8 million in raw materials, a $28.3 million increase from 2005 (Supply Chain Management, 155). Although this increase in raw material costs is partly attributed to price inflation, Scotts Miracle Gro can implement new production processes to save in raw material costs. The most predominant raw material used by Scotts Miracle Gro products is plastic resin. In order to save on costs, the Temecula plant should find ways to reduce material input without changing the quality of the product. Also, excess plastic resin should be recycled back into the production process. Not only will this decrease the amount of raw materials used and wasted, but it will also help decrease the disposal cost of used ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Reflection In Society Have you ever wondered what it s like to live in the shoes of someone who s autistic or has extreme social anxiety? Either of these things can make functioning in society very difficult, but not impossible. At least that s what I believe, some people disagree with that. The author seems to believe that is impossible to function in society if either of these things affect you. It is possible to function in society, it just takes a lot of patience and practice. Haddon portrays that if you are suffering from autism, then you can t function in society at all. He makes it so that Christopher doesn t liked being touched by people so much, that he ll scream or hit someone if he s touched. No matter what affects you, this is the behavior of a child. On page 8 it says The policeman took hold of my arm and lifted me onto my feet. I didn t like him touching me like this. And this is when I hit him. Yes people with autism have a harder time functioning in society, but at the age Christopher is, he should know that you can t just hit people when they touch you. On page 137 it says So I got out my Swiss Army knife and I flicked out the saw blade and I held it tightly in the pocket that Toby wasn t in so that I could stab someone if they grabbed hold of me, . This is a very dangerous thing to do, if Christopher does pull out his knife on someone, then he could get in a lot of trouble. This is an extreme reaction to someone just touching him, it s very childish. In the book ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main purpose of anabolic steroids is to gain strength and muscle very quickly and faster than any other drug enhancement. There are many types of models that relate to anabolic steroids. One model is high school athletes who use anabolic steroids and would mostly fall in the performance enhancer model category. Many may ask, what exactly are performance enhancement drugs? Performance enhancement drugs are substances used to improve any form of activity performance in humans. There are many experiments done on the use of anabolic steroids within high schools. According to the Huffington Post as of 2011, 13 percent of boys who play football in high school take anabolic steroids and that is just football players. All of these young athletes who take steroids use the drug to become stronger. An average of 8.8 percent of female high school athletes have also tried or currently use anabolic steroids. • 11. Political Instability And Armed Conflicts The Arab world today is shrouded in controversy. Political instability and armed conflicts are portrayed as the norm throughout the Middle East. According to the pseudo regional specialists, the causes behind all the conflicts faced are obvious, religion and radicalism. Yet this fails to answer the question, why , which opens the door to better understand the foundation of the present day Arab states. This questions the origins to why the Arabs chose to leave the Ottoman Empire and take support from the British Empire, which at the time seemed contradictory. Unless British involvement with the Arabs had enticed the revolution, then to what extent did European Jihadist propaganda sway the Arabs to revolt against the Ottoman Empire in 1916? This paper will discuss that the Arab revolt against the Ottomans was in an effort take control of the Arab territories for themselves without the need for external influence to push them into making the decision. As such, the alternative explanation would be that Sharif Hussein was influenced by the British into believing that the revolt was his opportunity to liberate the Arabs from the Ottomans. Illustrating this point will be by examining circumstances that had led to the Arab s decision, understanding how European intervention and motives shaped the revolt, and assessing the incentives the Arabs had for revolting. It was probably the book I enjoyed the most from our nature writing unit. I think he managed to describe nature well and thoroughly without dragging on for too long. He also seemed less radical than Dillard, Ehlrich, and Thoreau, which made him more relatable. Also, the topics of his writing are more varied. Overall, the financiers of the railway had benefitted tremendously from the amount of money being brought in by the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The construction of the CPR also provided many benefits for consumers in Canada at the time of being built, as well as after for many years to come. Receiving goods was made much easier through the use of the CPR to deliver products to the eastern part of Canada. This was mostly just a convenience for consumers rather than really benefitting them financially. As a result of easier transportation to the eastern Canada, the price of food and goods was far less coming from the west because of the low shipment costs issued by the CPR, which was a financial benefit for the consumers of Canada. The standard of living in turn was increased by the lower costs of items needed for the standard every day life of citizens living in Canada. This was mostly apparent in the lower to middle class division in that time, where obvious gains were apparent, so the new immigrants and poor began to lift out of poverty at a substantial rate. • 22. The Theory Of Moral Reasoning he tension between reason and emotion in the human psyche has intrigued philosophers and psychologists for centuries. Under this theme, moral psychologists have investigated the roles of reason and emotion in making moral judgements, which, in the context of moral dilemmas, involves evaluating the acceptability of an action, given the virtues held by a specific culture (Haidt, 2001). Moral reasoning involves the conscious, effortful, and controllable mental manipulation of information, while moral emotions involve spontaneous, affectively charged judgements that lack conscious reasoning (Haidt, 2001). While earlier rationalist approaches argued that moral reasoning formed the basis of our moral judgements (Kohlberg, 1981), more recent approaches, such as Haidt s (2001) Social Intuitionist Model, emphasise the role of affective processes, arguing that reasoned judgements are rare, and that most examples of reasoning are simply post hoc rationalisations of emotionally grounded judgements. The dual process model (DPM) (Greene, Nystrom, Engell, Darley, Cohen, 2004) consolidates these two approaches, proposing that reason and emotion are distinct and equally important processes, which are elicited to different extents by particular features of moral situations, competing to form the final moral judgement. Under this model, Greene et al. (2004) made a key distinction between personal and impersonal moral dilemmas. In the Trolley Dilemma, a runaway trolley will kill five men ... Electricity is a natural phenomenon and is one of the most commonly utilized forms of energy. Electricity is used in order to do work, such as generating heat and light. Electricity is measured in watts. Watts are the measurement of power (current * voltage). Current is the flow of electrons measured in amperes (Amps). One ampere is the amount of current when one coulomb (6.25 x 10^18 electrons) of charge moves past a point over one second. Voltage is the force that causes electrons to move in a circuit. A volt is defined as the electrostatic difference between two points when one joule of energy is used to move one coulomb of charge from one point to the other. (NDT Resource Center, 2013) A joule is the measurement of energy that is used when one watt of power does work for one second (also known as watt seconds). When measuring electricity in large numbers, the standard unit of measurement is kilowatt hour. This determines the rate at which energy is being used, and how energy is quantified in the United States. One kilowatt hour is equivalent to 3,412.14163 British Thermal Units (BTU s). Forecasting By Vector Autoregression Models CHAPTER NINE FORECASTING BY VECTOR AUTOREGRESSION MODELS 9.1 Vector Autoregressive (VAR) Models Vector Autoregression (VAR) models were introduced by the macro econometrician Christopher Sims (1980) to model the joint dynamics and causal relations among a set of macroeconomic variables. The vector autoregression (VAR) is commonly used for forecasting systems of interrelated time series and for analyzing the dynamic impact of random disturbances on the system of variables. The VAR approach sidesteps the need for structural modeling by treating every endogenous variable in the system as a function of the lagged values of all of the endogenous variables in the system. The vector autoregression (VAR) model is one of the most successful, flexible, and easy to use models for the analysis of multivariate time series. It is a natural extension of the univariate autoregressive model to dynamic multivariate time series. The VAR model has proven to be especially useful for describing the dynamic behavior of economic and financial time series and for forecasting. It often provides superior forecasts to those from univariate time series models and elaborate theory based simultaneous equations models. Forecasts from VAR models are quite flexible because they can be made conditional on the potential future paths of specified variables in the model. In addition to data description and forecasting, the VAR model is also used for structural inference and policy analysis. In structural ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

No matter where you are driving, there are drivers that speed all around you. Some people will go twenty miles an hour over the speed limit just because they want to get to their destination faster. They will cut people off just to be able to maintain a high speed. There are many risks when someone is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. One Trip To The Trashcan Times are tough, and more people are cooking at home than dining out. However, some of them are starting to get frustrated with how much time it takes to prepare a good meal. Here are three great tips to make cooking faster, easier, and more enjoyable. Cooking Tip #1: Make One Trip to the Trashcan Running back and forth to the trashcan is aggravating (as well as inefficient). You can make only one trip by lining a colander, sink strainer, small trash can, or other wide mouthed receptacle with a plastic shopping bag and keeping it next to your cutting board. If your cutting board happens to be right next to the sink, place the lined receptacle in the basin. Otherwise place the receptacle at your feet (but be careful not to trip over it). Toss ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Limiting the use of our utilities is not only beneficial to our budget but also to the environment as well. Here are several useful and lesser known tips in conserving energy while you are in the kitchen. While being in the kitchen, the stove is one of the main items that will use up the most energy, so it is important to be wise with your energy consumption when cooking on it. Adjust the burners when using a gas based cooking top so that the flames just barely touch or are a tad lower than the bottom of the pans you are cooking on. Flames that curl around a pan waste more energy. However, if you are using an electric cook top, put the pan on a coil that is similar in size. Place the pan so that its bottom lies absolutely flat on the burner. This will conserve a great deal of energy. Also, when using an electric stove, set the burners on high first and then proceed to lower it to finish the cooking. For dishes that aren t pans, turn off the burner completely at the end as the element will hold the heat for several minutes. In addition to your stoves, the oven vent on an electrical range can be very useful. If you are using an oven vent on an electrical range, you will find that the vent is under one of the burners. While the oven is in use, you will be able to feel the hot air flowing through the vent. For dishes that you would like to warm, set them on that burner. This will minimize the use of a microwave and will also optimize the use of your burners. Now, for dishes that need to cook for long periods of time, particularly over an hour, there is no need to preheat your oven (unless you are cooking a turkey that needs a crisp skin). For dishes that must be cooked just under an hour, extend the cooking time for a little bit. The only preheating that is required is for dishes that have a short baking time. Although this seems like a very obvious tip ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Women In Sandra Cisneros s Woman Hollering Creek Thesis: In the short story Woman Hollering Creek, Sandra Cisneros emphasizes the importance of having a female figure to look up to in order to overcome the oppression women are subjected to in a patriarchal society. Cisneros creates the conflict of love between Cleofilas and her husband, Juan Pedro, in which they struggle with because of the constant mistreatment he exerts upon her. Although love is an intense feeling that is often expressed through affection and intimacy, Cleofilas believes that love is always physical, and when conveyed, it is also painful. As she watches her current favorite telenovela Tu o Nadie, (You or No One), she begins to think the way one should live there life is by only wanting one person and nobody else and that To suffer for love is good (45) and The pain is all sweet somehow in the end (Cisneros 45). Because of her lack of female guidance and better representation of a realistic relationship between a husband and wife, she automatically assumes that her husband s beatings towards her are love, when they are undoubtedly, domestic violence. Furthermore, Cleofilas consistently thought that If any man were to strike her, she would strike back (48). However, that was not the case when Juan Pedro hit her for the first time. After He slapped her twice, Cleofilas stood in shock and Did not fight back, break into tears, or run away (47). Regardless of her lack of self defense, the slaps left her speechless because it took her by surprise, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Glue That Makes All The Good Grades Think Back to high school, when you were in class with 30 other students. You do all the work, make all the good grades and someone else gets all the credit. In my high school days, we called these people teachers pets . These people made it seem like everything was about them. They wanted to control everything and most of the students wanted to tell this student off but couldn t because the teacher would always take their side. Now, in this play we have a mother named Amanda and like the teacher s pet, Amanda wants to control every aspect of her children s life. May I add, that the children that she tried to control are well above the legal adult age. The children, like the other students in the classroom, wanted to tell her off but it wouldn t be of any value because they had no backing. Amanda is truly the glue that makes this play what it is today. Amanda is the most important character in this play because she wants to live her life through her kids, everything that went wrong was because of her, and because of her nagging ways. Amanda truly wants to live her life though her children life at any cost. Just like any parent Amanda wants to have her children succeed in life. She truly wants her children to go on and enjoy their life and I believe that she feels disappointed because she can t give them what they need to survive the rest of their life s because she isn t financially stable enough for this. Since she can t give them what they need, she pushes them to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Why Do Books Shouldn T Be Banned Books shouldn t be banned and i say this with a bold confident voice. The book challenges such as sexually explicit or offensive language or even violence helps to teach the reader not to do these things readers understand it s just a book and nothing more in fact the reader will take out a lot out of books like that because it teaches them the effects and consequences if that reader did decide to go down one of those paths. I believe strongly that us American citizens we are free and by them banning books from us it s them take away our rights and freedoms. In text one in the beginning it talks about how we the people are given free speech and by them doing this they are taking away this right from us and it will only get worse. Text one lines 1 3 Most Americans agree that the First Amendment right to freedom of expression is one of the most sacred provisions of the US Constitution, a cornerstone of American democratic values. Book banning is something that is so unnecessary it does nothing but away the rights of the people if the book is to sexual or violent to read then you as a US citizen have the right to not read it you aren t forced upon it. • 36. Blurred Lines In J. C. Burke s The Story Of Tom Brennan In life, the line that separates victims from perpetrators is as clear as a window pane, but in some situations that window can crack, causing damage and danger. A victim is someone who has been harmed, or worse, due to a crime or accident. A perpetrator is a person who has committed a crime, either accidently or purposely. Three stories that capture this blurred line are Shattered, an Australian Story episode on ABC s website, The Story of Tom Brennan, a story written by Australian author J.C.Burke, and In My Little Town, another Australian Story episode. • 37. Nero s Domus Aurea And The Colosseum The Colosseum has been standing for over 1900 years but before discussing the Colosseum s achievements, it is important to understand the historical context and background of the building. How can a place go from being a symbol of extreme tyranny and private wealth to a symbol of one of the greatest entertainment venues and architectural feats? The Roman Colosseum did just that. It completely changed the public attitude and activity since it was built upon the grounds of what was once the part of Golden House of Nero (Domus Aurea). Although both Nero s Domus Aurea and the Colosseum are architecturally supreme and complex, the area holds rich history of private decadent excess to a public attraction making them supreme and complex in two different ways. Nero was the fifth Roman emperor of the Julio Claudian line who ruled from 54 68 CE. Nero did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
