The Forgotten War Of The Korean War
The Forgotten War
The Korean War was the first military action of the cold war and an effort to restrain the growing
communist aggression. Despite this however, this war is often forgotten, perhaps it is because The
Korean War wasn t a declared war and ended in an unsatisfactory stalemate (U.S Enters). Though
the Korean Warwas overshadowed by World War II and the Vietnam War, the Korean people took
the freedom we helped buy with our blood and rose to be one of the top ten economies in the
world (Transition). The Korean War is a largely forgotten, overlooked encounter which has a
tremendous influence on global politics, ideologies, and rivalries; this war encouraged the civil
rights movement in America, it promoted the exchange of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

On June 25, 1950, the war began when North Korean soldiers poured across the 38th parallel, the
boundary between North and South Korea. North Korea aimed to militarily conquer South Korea
and unify Korea under the communist regime. Many feared it was the first step in a communist
campaign to take over the world (Korean War in Stages). If we let Korea down, President Harry
Truman said, the Soviets will keep right on going and swallow up one place after another (Lowe).
The fight on the Korean peninsula was a symbol of the global struggle between east and west.
When President Truman stated encountered Dr. Syngman Rhee, president of the South Korean
Republic, in October 1948, he stated:
In my generation, this was not the first occasion when the strong had attacked the weak....
Communism was acting in Korea just as Hitler, Mussolini, and the Japanese had acted ten, fifteen,
and twenty years earlier. I felt certain that if South Korea was allowed to fall, Communist leaders
would be emboldened to override nations closer to our own shores. (Hill)
In 1951 as fighting continued along the 38th parallel, negotiations stalled. Both sides were
willing to accept a ceasefire, but they could not agree on the repatriation of prisoners of war.
After two years of negotiation, the armistice was signed on July 27, 1953. The agreement allowed
the prisoners of war to stay where they liked and drew a new boundary near the 38th parallel and
creating the demilitarized zone , which still

New Product Launch Marketing Plan, Part II
The following is the second part to the iNKtopia product launch plan. The second part of the
marketing plan consists of a detailed target market profile, including buying behaviors, decision
motivators, and organizational target markets. The plan also includes steps to manage each stage
of the product life cycle and tactical plans for the Four P s. Finally, the second part of the marketing
plan expands on the product offering expressed in part one and a new position statement to drive
iNKtopia s positioning strategy.

During this Phase iNKtopia will increase advertising on television, print ads, and provide discounts
and incentives to customers that want the ink delivered. The increase of advertising will continue
to help the company grow, expand, and build a larger consumer base.
Maturity Phase
The maturity Phase will create a slowdown in sales growth because the product has achieved
acceptance by most potential buyers (Kotler Keller, 2012, p. 310). As iNKtopia s profits become
stable or deteriorate because of an increase in competition the company must look to diversify. If
the company is successful up to this point the product will unavoidably lead to more competition.
Competitors will eventually start introducing similar products, or larger ink companies may
simply lower the price of their ink. Therefore iNKtopia will need to diversify or develop new
products, services, or lower costs to distinguish iNKtopia s products from the competitors. Ideally,
iNKtopia can enhance customer services and its image to become a leader in the ink industry. This
could also be coupled with a change in the pricing strategy by slightly lowering the cost of
iNKtopia products. However, iNKtopia will strive to create superior customer service and
innovation of the ink business to hopefully create additional sales and attract even more customers.
Another promotional idea would be to focus on the environmental

The Musculoskeletal System Of The Human Body
Not only are there damages to the immune system of the human body, but the musculoskeletal
system is also at a very large risk for injury, even from the seat of a chair. German Researcher, T.
Hettinger, analyzed statistics on sick leave and found that musculoskeletal problems among
administrative workers were higher than in any other industrial sector, and similar to those in
construction, metal industry and transport (Cranz, 2000, p. 98). This is saying that people who are

period that fall rates were nearly 4 fold higher in the American than in the Japanese residents
(Lipsitz et al., 1994, p. 957). This shows the negative effect that sitting has on human behavior
cross culturally by comparing the lifestyles of societies whose people are deskbound to ones that
are not. When cultures such as the Japanese perform tasks such as squatting to use the toilet, or to
stand up from a bed that is on the floor (not elevated) requires a full range of motion. This full
range of motion is lost when humans sit in an unnatural state for a majority of their day, and makes
aging an accelerated process. It s known that sitting and rising from the floor is a basic functional
process integrated into all human movement patters, and when one loses the ability to perform this
action, they lose their livelihood. Performing this action requires proper posture, flexibility and
muscle strength, which are all weakened by being deskbound and the sedentary lifestyle. A
Brazilian study created a sitting to rising test (SRT) to judge whether or not functional capabilities,
such as getting up off the floor with little

A Borderline Horror Story
This story is a truly profound one it is a borderline horror story. This young girl and her aunt live
in a house together. A stranger comes to there house to introduce himself. Mrs Sappleton is up
stairs and the only person there to greet the stranger is the young girl. The young girl decides to
have some fun with the stranger. She says the following Their bodies were never recovered. That
was the dreadful part of it. Here the child s voice lost its self possessed note and became falteringly
human. Poor aunt always thinks that they will come back some day,
In there home a large window leading outside is open and the stranger is curious about it. From
the girls view she is going to have some fun. She said her uncle and cousin went off to shoot some
years ago and died. Mrs Sappleton leaves the door open hoping that one day they will come back.

subject about her family to something else.
Mr Framton being so inclined to believe this young girl. Once Mrs Sappleton came downstairs
and began to mention her husband was coming back he was thinking that she was crazy. They sat
down at the table and began to talk then there was some noise outside. Coming across the lawn
there they were walking towards the house. Mr Framton looked as if he had seen a ghost. With
such shock and horror he hurrely stood up grabbed his things and ran from the house.
The husband Walks in through the big window and says how it was a bit wet but not to muddy

Structuralism Criticism In Sherlock Holmes By Arthur Conan...
Many authors have the option of how she or she would want their series of short stories to be
structured. They can either be in the same format or play around and have the stories to be various
formats. With that said, readers can then analyze the stories by taking a structuralist approach. A
Structuralism Criticism is analyzing the test or narrative as a whole to understand its significance
(Parker). To say it easier, readers analyze the text aesthetically (body and form) to see why the text
written in this specific format is important. With the author, Arthur Conan Doyle, his Sherlock
Holmesshort stories follow a very similar structure which makes it easier to understand the
significance. The structure throughout Doyle s series of Sherlock... Show more content on

Starting off with the beginning, the story always takes in Holmes office and a victim is in need
of his help. Holmes listens to the case as Watson takes notes, and they soon get ready to pursue
the mystery. For instance, in the story of The Speckled Band, the structure of this format seems
to be different as a scared stepsister Helen Stoner, comes into Holmes office asking for his help.
When Helen gives details and specifics, Watson takes notes and they re ready to head off. When
Holmes notices that the case is going to be dangerous, Watson insists on coming along. Even
though Holmes always asks Watson to tag along in a majority of the Holmes stories, in this
specific story, Holmes doesn t directly ask for Watson s presence. Instead, Watson insists on
coming along without having Holmes ask him prior. He just comes along after convincing
Holmes that he can handle every kind of danger. Moving along, when the clues are becoming
hinted, Holmes is always two steps ahead whereas Watson is two steps behind. Watson is always
seen as a sidekick to Holmes and isn t quite there yet of being up to par with Holmes strategies.
Especially in The Red Headed League, Holmes looked at all the possible suspects with a close eye
and noticed the smallest details, such as the dirt on the pants, kinds of shoes worn,

Chapter 9 Video Discussion Questions
1. Who should be held accountable for the factory that killed hundreds of people in Bangladesh? Is
it sufficient to arrest the building owner, or should the companies that buy from the factories face
consequences as well?
The stakeholders who should be accountable for the factory fire are the Western retailers that
source from the factory, Bangladesh Government and the factory building owner who leased or
rented the building. The companies that buy the goods from the factories should also be held
accountable for reasons such as:
Exploiting the cheap labor to earn high profits
Turning a blind eye on the working conditions and the worker safety

The labor laws in Bangladesh indeed should be strengthened like those in the U.S. to prevent such
incidences at work.
4. Some people have called for a boycott of garments produced in Bangladesh. Do you agree with
this recommendation? If retailers boycott the factories to ensure their compliance with basic levels
of safety, what happens to the people who work in those factories? Consider your response using a
utilitarianism perspective.
I don t think boycotting garments made in Bangladesh will solve the problem. A boycott of
garments from Bangladesh would increase unemployment, considering the dependency of the
country, and its people in garment manufacturing industry. This could result in an increase in the
poverty level of the country. Bearing in mind all the stakeholders, it may be advisable to increase
the safety, hygienic and compliance standards of these factories avoid disasters like the fire accident.
5. Oxfam claims that the wages paid to workers in the garment factories are far too low and should
be boosted significantly. Is Oxfam right? Is it a human rights violation to source goods from
factories where wages are so low? If higher wages are implemented what might happen to the

June, 4th 2015 Abstract
Subliminal messages are messages that are perceived in the unconscious mind that most of the
time we are not aware of. These messages are mainly designed to influence that way we think and
feel. They are used to get people to buy products from their company. Subliminal messages can be
perceived auditory or visually. Subliminal messages should not be legal and should be banned from
being used in advertisement for it can lead to negative results. There should be another way to
advertise that. Doesn t involve manipulating our minds into buying the products.
Subliminal messages are messages that are either auditory or visual which is presented below the
normal limits of perception. An example of a subliminal messages would be that a message might
be inaudible to the conscious mind but may be audible to the unconscious mind, in this case a
deeper part of your mind. Subliminal messages may also be in other cases an image that is
unperceived but will be perceived deeper in your mind. To put in simpler terms, subliminal
messages are basically hypnotism that many companies may use to encourage people to buy the
product they re selling.
According to the article The Influence of Subliminal Messages , it states that subliminal messages
can influence our attitudes and behavior. Also, under certain circumstances of course, subliminal
messages may or may not have the

The Inuktitut Culture
Some of the questions and observations I mention as arising from an ecological perspective, such as
the effect of tribal movement and climate change, link with ones that might arise when approaching
anthropological work with First Nation peoples in northern Canada from a cultural angle. The Cree
and Inuit, along with other First Nation tribes, are often described in relation to their intimate ties
with the environment. This intimacy (Hallenday) shapes every aspect of their cultures how they
hunt, how they socialize, even their language. The Inuktitut language, for example, is known for its
linguistic variability in finely distinguishing between different types of weather, the subtlety of
which is easily lost in translation (throughout Hallenday s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While a best definition of the term culture remains elusive, most anthropologists would agree on the
necessity for having a working definition. John Monaghan and Peter Just elegantly define the
slippery notion of culture as our capacity to conceptualize the world and to communicate those
conceptions symbolically (2000).
In a paper on Indigenous knowledge production around diabetes, Heather Howard makes the point
that
Individual illness and disease are inseparable from collective experience. They are interpreted
through shared, distinct, intersecting, historical and ongoing conditions of economic, political, and
other oppressions. Restoration of health and well being are achieved through actions grounded in

Norris, Olen Montgomery, Andy Wright, Roy Wright, Eugene Williams, Charlie Weems, Willie
Robertson, Haywood Patterson, and Ozzie Powell. These guys were unfairly judged to have
raped two white girls. While these teenagers were falsely accused of a crime that had never met,
the case had become one of the most controversial, and complex instance in the United States
history. First of all, the Scottsboro case initiates at a burden train who was going to the West

where the black adolescents had been detained, because of the supposed violation of the two
white girls, best known as Victoria Prince, and Ruby Bates, who were both from 17 to 21 years
old. However, these guys were not at this place for pleasure rather than looking for new job
opportunities due to the Great Depression of 1931. This economic disaster made them look for
jobs in these towns, because of the economic troubles that the whole country was suffering at that
time. Moreover, in this train where the case started, it had occurred a fight between some
passengers who were discussing for space in the wagons of the train. In this fight, a white boy

Genetically Modified Foods Research Paper
Even though it is evident that the potential of genetically modified organisms to improve our food
production is astronomical, they are not without their drawbacks. Since it is the negative public
opinion of genetically modified organisms that is affecting their application their negative aspects
are often magnified and become very important to their future use. To accurately understand the full
story of genetically modified organisms it is important to look at some of the real issues that they
present and weigh these negatives against the many positives outlined earlier. One of the issues that
is very concerning to a large portion of the population is the lack of independent review for biotech
companies on their use and application of genetically modified organisms. According to Robin
Mather, a Senior Associate Editor at Mother Earth News who has written about GM crops since the
early 1990s, As the system now stands, biotech companies bring their own research to the
government body overseeing their products (Mather 44). Mather supports this claim with her
reference to the insight of Doug Gurian Sherman of the Union of Concerned Scientists, We don t
have the whole picture. That s no accident. Multibillion dollar agricultural corporations, including
Monsanto and Syngenta, have restricted independent research on their genetically engineered
crops. They have often refused to provide independent scientists with seeds, or they ve set... Show

The Importance Of Public Transportation
1.Tuesday, September 26, 2017 Today I took the SEPTA regional rail to work this morning.
While walking down the row of seats I found myself searching for the seat without trash, or holes
in the seat. While on my train ride I noticed by surroundings. The vast amount of different people
on the train amazed me. There was an elderly gentleman on my right, and in the seat in front of me
was a man who did not have the most pleasant scent. Noticing people eating, coughing, or sleeping
and drooling on the window I quickly came to the realization of how many germs are on this train.
Things such as public transportplay a role in public healthsignificantly. With all of the germs on
public transportation people can pick up things easily. For example, the measles outbreak that was
in Disney World, could be picked up through public transportation. People touching poles, seats,
could pose the risk of spreading many communicable diseases. I personally do not believe that
public transportation does a great job in the sanitation department. However, on the flip side public
transportation is also beneficial to public health. According to the APHA people located near major
highways and road ways have an increase in respiratory illness due to the amount of pollution.
Therefore, by taking public transportation such as the train, or subway this reduces the amount of
pollution causes by cars, trucks, and other vehicles on the road.

Key Values Revealed In Homer s Odyssey
1. The key values that are shown in Chapter 1 were humanism and freedom to think. In humanism
gods are superior to man, and as Zeus says, I am mightiest of all. (Hamilton 20) Zeus is showing the
gods are mightier than the humans and Zeus, the mightiest of the gods. Also, the humans had the
freedom to think and worship. When his (Zeus) worship spread to a town where there was already
a divine ruler the two were slowly fused into one. (Hamilton 21) This shows that the Greeksfreely
worshiped Zeus and other gods, and their worship of one god spread from town to town based on
their beliefs.
2. The god that I most relate to is Phoebus Apollo. No false word ever falls from his lips.
(Hamilton 25) Apollo is the God of Truth, and if you knew me, I never tell a lie. I have been
raised to where the truth may hurt, but is always the right thing to say. If my mom ever caught
me lying to her, I would be punished. Whenever my mom asks if I did my chores and I realize I
forgot to do them, knowing I would be punished, I still tell her I have not.
3. The Greek gods where cruel to the Greeks in some of their myths. For example, Hera, Zeus
wife, would greatly punish any women who Zeus fell in love with, when mainly it was Zeus who ...

Philosophy of Psychology

Freed Hardeman University Philosophy of Psychology
Introduction
As an occupational therapist, I hope to use a number of different psychological theories. The main
perspective I will use is Behavior Psychology. Most of my therapy techniques will come from
Skinner s theory of operant condition. By using Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), I can help
modify children s behavior. The second perspective I will use is Neuropsychology. In treating
autistic children, and other people with various disorders, it is important to understand the different
brain chemistry that each has. In most circumstances, a part of the brain is affected that inhibits an
aspect of the child s behavior.
History
Both behavioral psychology and neuropsychology have rich backgrounds. For the purposes of my
philosophy of psychology, I will cover operant condition and Skinner s approach to verbal
behavior. I will also look aspects of neuropsychology such as neuroplasticity and the dimensional
systems model. I will also look at Sensory Integration theory, which combines a number of different
perspectives including behavioral and neuropsychology.
Behavioral Therapy
The father of Behavioral Psychology is Watson. Another iconic psychologist in this aspect is B. F.
Skinner. Skinner s major theory is operant conditioning. Operant behavior is defined as behavior
controlled by its consequences (Staddon Cerutti, 2003). Operant behavior also uses reinforcement

How To Build A Vacuum Trucks

used for cleaning sewage and drainage lines and even for hydraulic excavation. Although the

There have been many cases where workers have suffered fatal injuries from operating this type
of equipment. Following are some of the ways that operators can work safely around such heavy
duty vehicles. Vigilance Working with a vacuum truck can easily create a false sense of
security. That is why it is important to always be aware of the dangers associated with these
vehicles. It is important to keep in mind that a vacuum force can be generated that could literally
rip a person s limb off of a body. During operation, always keep a safe distance from the suction tip
and be aware of the location of all emergency shut off features. Grounding Vacuuming can generate
static electricity, which could trigger a spark. If the material being suctioned has a flash point
below 140 degrees, it could potentially create an explosion. As a rule of thumb, a vehicle should be
attached to a grounding point throughout its operation. Chemical Reactions Chemical reactions
may occur when combining two different materials together, which could result in intense heat, the
release of noxious gases, and even an explosion. To avoid a chemical reaction, always clean the

In American culture especially, drinking is seen as a rite of passage or assimilation into
adulthood. Young people in many cultures are introduced to drinking early in life, as a normal
part of daily living. Whereas in America, drinking at a young age is looked down upon, the
reverse is true in societies that maintain the best moderate drinking practices. The idea of a
minimum as before someone should be protected from alcohol is alien in China and France.
Children learn to drink early in Zambia by taking small quantities when they are sent to buy beer;
children in France, Italy, and Spain are routinely given wine as part of a meal or celebration. In the
United States, the legal age to drink varies dramatically form others around the world but is still

drinking can be seen as a routine way of assimilating a youth into their respective culture s social

The relationship between alcoholic beverages and religion goes back thousands of years. The use

where the foundation for his/her future is going to be established. The period of the Absorbent
Mind (Birth to Six years) along with the Sensitive periods, plays a significant part in the
development of movement, language and social skills of the child.
During the first three years of life, the child s mind is unconscious and purely absorbent. He/She
has the ability to imbibe whatever happens in the environment, and later use it towards the overall
development (physical as well as psychic). The Study of the Sensitive periods (a distinct sensibility
of the child towards acquiring a particular characteristic), helps in understanding the psychic growth
of the child. A child is born in this world; this implies he/she has entered a new environment, ready
to absorb every minute activity that happens around them.
Whatever is formed at that time in the child s mneme has the power to become eternal (The
Absorbent Mind, Dr. Maria Montessori, Page No.120)
Horme The Unconscious inner drive of the child, awakens the child s enthusiasm towards his/her
environment in the first three years of birth. The Silent observer acquires every movement from the
environment and stores it in the Mneme the unconscious memory. Whatever is saved in the
Mneme, later becomes a part of the child s personality. As adults, we are aware of the physical
developments that happen in a child. At the same time, the

The Impeachment of Bill Clinton Essay
The Impeachment of Bill Clinton
The government of the United States controls countless affairs in the world. They control
everything from the currency to the court systems. Individuals are suppose to be able to trusting
your government system, which has not been the case in many different circumstances. From
Richard Nixon to the Whitewater scandal, the government has been everything but honest.
Furthermore President Bill Clinton has not been honest either. He was the youngest governor of
Arkansas and has been awarded with many different honors and still has misused his power. Bill
Clinton has obstructed justice, carried on an affair while in presidency, and abused his power in

He was reelected more than three times for the state of Arkansas (DeGregorio 2).
In 1992, William Clinton ran for President on the democratic ticket. His thoughts for the country
were to create many jobs, lower taxes for the middle class, and help national health insurance.
Although many people attacked him about an incident when he evaded military service and then
tried to cover it up, he won the run and choose Senator Al Gore as his vice president. He beat
Republican Bush and Independent party Perot. President Clinton would be reelected again and he
would have many issues while in his last term (DeGregorio 3).
Clinton s first problem occurred in 1994, when Paula Jones claimed that Bill Clinton
propositioned her and exposed himself to her while he was governor of Arkansas. Clinton denied
everything from the beginning. In 1997, Clinton offered $700,000 to settle the case, but Jones
only wanted an apology. If Clinton did not do anything wrong, then why would he pay a hefty
fine to dismiss the case? April first of this year, the Jones case was dropped, but was reopened in
November. Jones came out with a recorded $800,000 settlement (Froomkin 1).
The worries did not stop at the Jones case though. In 1995, Clinton allegedly started to have an
affair with one of his interns, Monica Lewinsky who was 21 years old at the time. No one

Aditive Approach
The United States is full of different ethnicities and races with different cultures and are accustomed
to a variety of different behaviors and ways of learning. It is essential that the curriculum within the
Nation s schools, colleges, and universities are reflected to the ethnic, cultural, and racial diversity
within the United States. Schools, colleges and universities are using various approaches to inspire
ethnic content into the curriculum, including the contributions, additive, transformation, and social
action approaches. To respond adequately to the ethnic realities with the nationand the world, the
curriculum should be transformed and should help students to develop decision making and social
action skills. According to the book... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Major goals of instruction in this approach are to educate students for social criticism and social
change and to teach them decision making skills. For example, promoting human rights and peace
at schools and working to ensure that the schools building and activities do not harm the
environment. To empower students and help them obtain political efficacy, the school must help
them become reflective social critics and skilled participants in social change (Banks 1989). The
traditional goal of school has been to socialize students so they would accept unquestioningly the
existing ideologies, institutions, and practices within society and the nation state.
I believe that each approach stated by James Banks is important in its own way and do not over
power one another. The four approaches to the integration of ethnic content into the curriculum I
described above are often mixed and blended in actual teaching situations. An important goal that all
of these approaches share are teaching about racial, cultural, and ethnic diversity which should be to
empower students with knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to participate in civil action that
will help transform our world and enhance the possibility for human

Domestic Violence, Maternal Depression, And Home Environment
As seen in the previous studies, children living in domestic violent homes not only have to face the
direct violence that is happening at the moment, but also have to face the indirect change that is
brought after the violence has occurred. Using a sample of 100 women and their children ages 3 5,
the study conducted by Huth Bocks, Levendosky, and Semel (2001) examined maternal
psychological functioning and its impact of the quality of the home environment in a domestic
violent household. After observing these indirect variables, assessments were made to determine if
domestic violencehad indirect affects on children s intellectual functioning (Huth Bocks,
Levendosky, Semel, 2001). The three independent variables that were used in this study to
determine the outcome (intellectual functioning) were: domestic violence, maternal depression, and
home environment (Huth Bocks, et al., 2001). The Severity of Violence Against Women
Scales
measured domestic violence from 0 to 3 (never, once, a few times, many times). The Beck
Depression Inventory was used to measure the severity of maternal depression that women
experienced due to the domestic violence. The Home Observation for Measurement of the
Environment was used to measure the quality of the home environment. Finally, the Peabody
Picture Vocabulary Test Revised (PPVT R) was used to measure children s receptive vocabulary

Dbq Antifederalist
After America won their freedom from Great Britain there was much to celebrate, but first, they
had to come up with a new government. Because of their recent war against a monarchy, no one
thought that giving the government too much power would be a good idea. Therefore the
newly founded America created a government that mostly gave complete freedom to the people.
As a result of this, the government was in over its head with problems. For example; a large
amount of debt and the gou t couldn t raise the money they need to pay back their debts because
they weren t allowed to tax the people. In other words, because of how weak the new gou t was
the state was falling into the dark depths of chaos. In light of this, many people didn t seem to care

To start with, Antifederalist questioned why they needed a whole new kind of gou t that hadn t

on, many of the Antifederalist feared that the new constitution would lead the country back to a
monarch or monarch like gou t. And so, many of the Antifederalists feared that people of influence
and wealth would worm their way into the government and control the country from positions of
power. As a result, Antifederalist feared a government with power much more than the chaos
caused by a weak government. Regarding this, many Antifederalists shared a mutual concern when
it came to the prospect of a complicated federal gou t controlling a country as large as the United
States, many of them assuming it would be near impossible. Furthermore, Antifederalist also argued
that the new gou t would give the president to much power, and feared that the population wouldn t
be given the ideal representation. To further elaborate, having the proper representation for the
population was essential for the Antifederalist because it would help ensure that the gou t couldn t
impose taxes and other things on the population without consulting them first. As Patrick Henry
once warned, be extremely cautious, watchful, jealous of your liberty; for instead of securing
your rights, you may lose them forever (Appleby 209). Henry is expressing the dangers that might
follow the new gou t. In Particular, he was elaborating that instead of keeping their freedom and
gaining order, like the federalists have promised, he feared that their freedom would be at risk
instead. On the subject of gou t, the Antifederalists stood together for their common goal of
ensuring freedom, but they stood in different places when it came to a gou t. Such as, in many
cases Antifederalists were willing to ratify the new constitution if they added

Western Treatment Of Horses
When I was in elementary school, I had very strong feelings about everything. If you said black,
I said white. If you said the sky was blue, I said it was not. Basically, if you thought you were
right, I would attempt to challenge that in any way I could, even if that meant going against all
logical thinking. This obstinance is best described in one time when I felt very strongly about
horses. My familyand I had horses for many years, and so did some of our friends. However, those
friends treated their horses much differently than we did. We treated our horses with loveand

Hydrologic Cycle Of The Hydrological Cycle
In this assignment, I shall be examining the hydrological cycle and I shall be answering the
following questions provided in the D2L. I will be showing my understanding/knowledge, thinking
and communication.
Define:
В¬Condensation: The process where water vapor or in other words (gas) transitions into water
droplets (a liquid). This is when we begin to see clouds form.
В¬Evaporation: The change of the state from water to water vapor, an estimated average 47 inches
is evaporated into the atmosphere from the ocean each year.
В¬Sublimation: It is the process where ice and snow change into water vapor. They are able to do
that without moving through the liquid phase
В¬Evamp transpiration: The cumulative loss by evaporation and transpiration.
To begin with, the hydrologic cycle doesn t have an area where the sequences commence.
Therefore, it will begin in the ocean since that s where the most of the earth s water exists. The
energy from the sun heats the ocean water, causing it to evaporate. Condensation, the water
vaporizes into water vapor. Subsequently, the vapor ascends into the atmosphere condensation is
crucial to the hydrologic cycle because it is in charge of forming the clouds. Sublimation is the
process where ice directly converts into water vapor without converting into liquid. Furthermore, it
has a slower process than evaporation. Precipitation, clouds begin to form and it begins to
precipitate due to either wind or temperature change. Transpiration,

power, affection, loyalty, royalty, and wisdom. I am strong and I try to help people like when I

I also represent wisdom when I say things about the world that not many people my age know, and

Dante Alighieri was one of the most renowned writers in world literature. His great masterpieces
have influenced the world immensely. He was not only a great writer and poet but he also was a
man that overcame great odds to write awe inspiring works of art. Dante Alighieri was born in
Florence, Italy either in late May or early June, 1265. His childhood was somewhat troubling
because of the early death of his mother and then his father when he was 18. He managed to get
through these bad occurrencesand fell in love with a Florentine noblewoman named Beatrice
Portinari in 1274 but she also died not long afterwards. He once said that the most significant

During his exile, Dante Alighieri spent time in Verona and other northern Italian cities as well as
Paris. His political views changed dramatically to those of the Ghibellines during this time period
of 1307 to 1309. He supported the idea of a united Europe under a single emperor. Between 1304

Model Of Atonement
2.The first model of atonement by the Church is the Christus Victor model, or the Satan model.
This model has three figures in it and they are God, Satan, and humanity. There are two versions of
this model. The ransom version and the cosmic battle version. With the ransom version Satan has
control over humanity, and all of their souls. Godhas to offer a ransom in order to free humankinds
souls. God makes the deal of handing over Jesusas a ransom payment to free the souls, and Satan
proceeds to kill Jesus taking it as a victory. Jesus then is resurrected allowing the return to God and
the victory for Christ. The souls of humanity are freed, and Jesus is still alive. It leaves the Satan

This is a model of non violence, shows that atonement does not rely on punishment, and Jesus is
not a weak passive character. The symbols of God, Jesus, Satan, or humanity being taken in a
worldlier view that can provide a direct connection. This is a interpretation to the cosmic battle
where the main characters are metaphorically interpreted. Jesus was not this passive character,
He was an activist trying to make the Kingdom of God visible to humanity. An example is the
Roman Empire. The Roman Empire is Satan. They are a force that has a lot of power and
control, but do not recognize God as the true power of the universe. They are fighting to take
control of the world, and declare themselves kings and gods. They are not being humble and
thanking God, and putting their success in Him. In this case the Church is the representation of
God. The Roman Empire does not recognize the Church as the true power, and try to act without
the Church on their side. Jesus is sent as the embodiment of the Kingdom of God. He is sent to
spread God s message, and show people the light. Jesus is still put to death in this scenario, but it
means something different. Jesus us spreading a message against the Roman Empire, and talking
about a power that is greater than them. They are afraid of what Jesus is saying, and the following
that is starting, and Jesus is put to death because the Romans oppose the message. The

The damage of wars is way too much that it should never happen under any circumstance. No one
should ever initiate a war and claim it justified. Let s see why war should not be justified.
First of all, war is nothing but bloodthirsty killer. During Iraq War period, 172 U.S. and British
combatants were killed fro m March 20 to May 1 and another 222 died between May 2 and
October 20. The number of civilians killed during war is between 5,708 and 7,356. The major
unknown is the number of Iraqi military deaths during the war and it was estimated as low as
13,500 or as much as 45,000 soldiers. Furthermore, at least 20,000 civilians were injured. If
protecting national interests or achieving diplomatic goals is a just cause then which party has a just
cause between Iraqi people and U.S. or British army? Basically, all of them have their own just
causes arising from their national profits. Then, can you say that soldiers, no matter which party
they belong, are guilty because of killing people? The answer is No, because, for soldiers, killing
enemies is related to more likely legal defense than any other reasons. The point is that all the
people, who are related with this cruel action, are nothing but innocent victims.

therefore they acquire the ideology that is prevailing in their birth countries as they grow up. No

CBT has no set definition but can be viewed as a scientific approach towards the understanding
and improvement of human condition. Due to the advancement in the understanding of CBT,
many different types of models have come into place (Rakovshik McManus, 2010; Shafran et al,
2009) . As evidence based practice, it has become very popular and is at a rise due to its ability

addiction but has also proven effectiveness with psychoanalytic approach, it still holds some
defects. In this paper, CBT approaches will further be analyzed and tested upon its effectiveness and
how they have been criticized for further improvements.
To understand addiction further, it is important to look at how drugs have neurological effects in a
human body. Drugs can be ingested in various ways; while some are taken orally, some are smoked
(cannabis) while others are injected directly into the blood stream (Heroin). Once in the body, they
mainly affect the reward pathway in the brain, known as the dopaminergic pathway, which in turn
gives pleasure. Even though all drugs affect the reward and motivation pathways in the brain, their
speed depends on the way the drug has been consumed. Over constant use of drugs, the cognitive
functions are impaired as the effects become more prominent in learning, memory

Lack of consensus on forecasts that the departments of sales, marketing, finance and operation all

The lack of formalized process and communication of forecasting was the key reason underlying.
Also, the data most relevant to forecasting was often not accurate or inusable and Leitax had no

Leitax should tie its demand planning system to its product group, because it constantly introduces
new products, so that product group needs to help all these parties involved in demand planning to
navigate through the new products on the agenda. This may help different parties to have a better
understanding from an inner perspective in addition to marketing and sales perspective.
Extending products beyond their lifecycle as Leitax did only serves the purpose of making your
numbers look good in the short term. Ultimately, Leitax did more damage extending the cycles than
honoring the lifecycles agreed to in the beginning. Forecasts should be performed with long term
results in mind versus purely short term results.
The decision to introduce more sophisticated forecasting techniques to aid the demand planning
process would not have worked well for Leitax. The introduction of the system Fowler and
McMillan introduced was a significant change for the staff of this company, thus trusting the
system and improving the system for better accuracy would pay off more than confusing things by
adding more sophisticated models. Relying on the most robust model, the statistical model has
proven successful in Leitax s past, but Fowler was concerned the DMS group would seem over

players are either playing defense, midfield, or forward. The goalkeeper s objective is to stop the
ball from going into his or her team s goal. The other players, using only their feet, must dribble
and pass the ball in order to move it up the field and attempt to place the ball in the opposing
team s goal. In the middle of both short ends of the field, there is a goal, one belonging to each
team.(Swanson) The objective of each team is to place the ball in the goal of the opposing team
to get a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. History There is
evidence tracing soccer back to 2000 BC. At this time, the game was played by the Romans,
Greeks, and Chinese. A leather ball was being dribbled and kicked in a small net or passed
between two people. (History) The game of soccer arrived in England during the medieval times.
During this time, the objective of the game was to move the ball to a specific spot. Violent
strategies such as punching, kicking, and biting were used to slow down the opposing team.
Violent incidents during a soccer match were common. King Edward III of England and King
James I of Scotland banned soccer in 1365 and 1424 respectively due

Professional Athlete Research Paper
As a professional Athlete you practice and develop your skills so you can be the best of your
ability. You have to maintain your equipment to keep your body clean, as well as you have to
train, exercise and maintain your weight so your body can be in the best condition available. To
be a professional athlete you have to be a team player because you have to work with other players
on the team and take instructions from the coach. There are many work environments for
professional athletes, like the field or court in which they play on. Another environment would be
the weight room or indoor facility, in these places the athletes work on bettering their skills.
Athletes have a very unusual work schedule because they are forced to work on weekends and
holidays. Athletes usually work 40 plus hours a week, just so they can be successful as a team and
individual.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Descartes Throws On The Wind Of Search For A Universal...
In this essay I will address how Descartes throws all his beliefs to the wind in search for a universal
and unchanging foundational truth, that bypass his deceptive senses and shines light on all his
beliefs that are clearly and distinctly, proven based on his supreme foundational truth.
As Descartes tries to unravel his former beliefs and find an unquestioning truth in which he can
build all other truths without the errors of deception leading him astray. Descartes begins his
search by questioning how his former beliefs became questionable and faulty in the first place. In
meditation one Descartes explains that everything that he had previously believed in before had
been learned either by his sensory perceptions or through his sensory ... Show more content on

Which leads Descartes to distrust all his sensory perceptions, because he feels that they can be used
against him to deceive him. However Descartes does see that even though his senses can deceive
him that doesn t mean that his senses aren t altogether a deception themselves. His mind cannot
create something that he himself has never felt, heard, seen, smelled, or tasted before, the mind
creates what it has encountered before and sometimes even if you haven t encountered a specific
situation or sensation the mind will at least compare it to something of similar sensation. So, for
this Descartes knows that his senses have the ability to deceive him but that when they do deceive
him they are using real reference points.
With the false sensory perceptions in mind, Descartes believes of this idea that an evil demon exist
to solely try and deceive him using his senses. Which leads Descartes to cut out all understanding
and beliefs of everything he cant be sure of no sky, no earth, no minds, no bodies (pg. 139). But
then Descartes realizes and states in his second meditation, if he cut outs everything in which he
thought existed what would he be left with, nothing, would he himself even exist? No, he has to
exist right because he s thinking and the evil demon is deceiving him. The evil demon would not
try and deceive him if he did not exist in the first place. (Descartes Meditations 1 3, slide 26) This
train of thought leads Descartes to his most famous line and the basis

How The Australian Media Covers And Reports Crime
This report aims to analyse how the Australian media covers and reports crime. To accomplish this,
the report will explore how The Australian covered the Cairns child murders, in the article entitled
Cairns deaths: A good mum who concealed her demons published on December 27th 2014. The
report will provide insight into the explanation for the crimes occurrence, while investigating the
prevalence of the crimetype murder, in Australia. It will also make reference to two of Chibnall s
news values : dramatization and personalization.
On the 19th of December 2014, eight children aged 18 months to 16 years were found dead inside
a home in Manoora, Cairns. Investigation revealed that 37 year old Raina Mersane Ina Thaiday had
murdered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The final reason the article gives, is that Thaiday drank alcohol and used marijuana (Walker and
Elks 2014) and had actually been up late drinking the night before the murders. Again, this theory
presented by The Australian can be supported by statistics, as there is strong evidence of an
association between the consumption of alcohol and violence (AIC 2010). The Australian is
therefore linking the cause of the crime to three interrelated factors: recurring cycle of abuse due to
mental health issues, poverty and substance abuse.
The type of crime reported on is murder. According to the most recent statistics published on
murder in Australia, there are 1.1 victims per 100,000 persons (ABS 2013). This makes it a fairly
un common crime, when compared with other western nations, such us the United States, in which
murder rates are 4.7 victims per 100,000 persons (U.S Department Of Justice 2011). The
Australian media however, reports on murder in such a way, which makes it seem more prevalent
than it actually is. This is done through dramatized coverage, and drip feed reporting. Thaiday s
crime is prevalent however, in the sense that she committed her murders with a steak knife. And of
weapons used in murder, a knife is the most common at 43

Abraham Lincoln And The Civil War
Out of the first sixteenth president, Abraham Lincoln was the first president who created
foundation about ending slaves in America via his Emancipation of Proclamation. Lincoln was also
a strong supporter for Homestead Act and The Pacific Railway Act, which became an essential law
for American economics. Furthermore, 13th Amendment was Lincoln top priority in legislation
after he was reelected as the President. President Abraham Lincolntruly became one of the greatest
presidents via these achievements. In the presidential election of 1860, Abraham Lincoln was
elected to become the 16th President and this presidential result began a civil war in America.
During the election, most of the Southern states did not vote for Abraham Lincoln because they
knew that Lincoln was against slavery, which violated Southern states constitution. In April 12,
1861, the Civil War occurred and main reason of the war was because Lincoln believed that slavery
should be banned. Lincoln s belief showed that he thought everyone should have their freedom to
live. In January 1, 1863, Lincoln introduced Emancipation of Proclamation even though the civil
war was about his banning slavery policy and belief. The Proclamation declared that all persons held
as slaves within the rebellious states are, and henceforward shall be free (The Emancipation
Proclamation). The Proclamation brought Abraham many advantages when it first introduced. It
helped the Northern States, which called Union, had more

Fact or Fiction?
Total Recall Paper
PHIL 2003 013
Usually at least once in a lifetime a person will question whether a dream was reality or not. It is
rare to think I am just dreaming in a dream. In the 1990s movie Total Recall the director, Paul
Verhoeven, attempts to illustrate the puzzling question of what is reality and what is not? With
Arnold Schwarzenegger in this futuristic flick, the director cleverly confuses the audience about
what is real in the movie, making one doubt each previous scene. Total Recall begins with the main
character, Douglas Quaid, on a mission to decipher a reoccurring dream that takes place in Mars.
His curiosity and frustrations take him to ReKall Inc. who has a specialty in a very ... Show more

His belief in God even affected his theories on reality. One of his theories was that he was being
deceived by a conniving and mischievous demon that was hell bent on distorting his reality. The
demon could be comparable to the evil dictator and the memory replacing machine in Total
Recall. Despite the evil demon, Descartes did manage to reveal one very true thing and that is
that he must exist if he truly is being deceived by the evil demon because he needs to exist in
order to be deceived. He later summarizes this into his famous phrase I think, therefore, I am.
(Descartes 136). The second philosopher that analyses the problem of what is reality and what
is not in the Introduction to Philosophy textbook is Christopher Grau. Grau, in his essay,
expands on Descartes idea of the evil demon by basing it off of The Matrix with his theory, The
Brain in a Vat Theory. The theory is just like it sounds. Just like in Total Recall, an extremely
intelligent device has the ability to give humans and gives them a false reality of a life. What
Grau is purposing is that we, as people, could quite possibly be hooked up to a super computer and
given false memories and experiences as well. In conclusion, Total Recall is a

Why Is Finitude Important In Malcolm X s Life
Human beings are not as perfect as we d like to believe. We are constrained by our abilities,
actions, knowledge, and death to live a life that can never reach its full potential. This concept of
finitude plays a significant role in Malcolm X s life and autobiography. X becomes aware of this
aspect of the human condition at a very early age and it seems that he acts with this idea almost
always in the back of his mind. Malcolm Xdoes not live a conservative or docile life. He is
determined to live his life to the fullest and by the end of the book, his only goal is to spread his
thoughts and ideas as much as he can before his time on this Earth is up.
We are first acquainted with finitude on the mere second page of this book. While we as
humans like to believe that we will live long and prosperous lives, Malcolm X seems to
understand the true nature of our existence before he is even able to go to grade school. With
constant threats from the KKK and several violent deaths of African Americans in the
community, it was near impossible for him to live as deluded as several of other did. His father had
also accepted the finite features of our existence and began to risk his life and dedicate himself to
civil rights. X realizes that he was likely to follow in his father s steps by stating It has always been
my belief that I, too, will die by violence. I have done all I can to be prepared (2)

  • 2. The Forgotten War Of The Korean War The Forgotten War The Korean War was the first military action of the cold war and an effort to restrain the growing communist aggression. Despite this however, this war is often forgotten, perhaps it is because The Korean War wasn t a declared war and ended in an unsatisfactory stalemate (U.S Enters). Though the Korean Warwas overshadowed by World War II and the Vietnam War, the Korean people took the freedom we helped buy with our blood and rose to be one of the top ten economies in the world (Transition). The Korean War is a largely forgotten, overlooked encounter which has a tremendous influence on global politics, ideologies, and rivalries; this war encouraged the civil rights movement in America, it promoted the exchange of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On June 25, 1950, the war began when North Korean soldiers poured across the 38th parallel, the boundary between North and South Korea. North Korea aimed to militarily conquer South Korea and unify Korea under the communist regime. Many feared it was the first step in a communist campaign to take over the world (Korean War in Stages). If we let Korea down, President Harry Truman said, the Soviets will keep right on going and swallow up one place after another (Lowe). The fight on the Korean peninsula was a symbol of the global struggle between east and west. When President Truman stated encountered Dr. Syngman Rhee, president of the South Korean Republic, in October 1948, he stated: In my generation, this was not the first occasion when the strong had attacked the weak.... Communism was acting in Korea just as Hitler, Mussolini, and the Japanese had acted ten, fifteen, and twenty years earlier. I felt certain that if South Korea was allowed to fall, Communist leaders would be emboldened to override nations closer to our own shores. (Hill) In 1951 as fighting continued along the 38th parallel, negotiations stalled. Both sides were willing to accept a ceasefire, but they could not agree on the repatriation of prisoners of war. After two years of negotiation, the armistice was signed on July 27, 1953. The agreement allowed the prisoners of war to stay where they liked and drew a new boundary near the 38th parallel and creating the demilitarized zone , which still ... New Product Launch Marketing Plan, Part II Essay New Product Launch Marketing Plan, Part II MKT/571 September 16, 2013 New Product Launch Marketing Plan, Part II The following is the second part to the iNKtopia product launch plan. The second part of the marketing plan consists of a detailed target market profile, including buying behaviors, decision motivators, and organizational target markets. The plan also includes steps to manage each stage of the product life cycle and tactical plans for the Four P s. During this Phase iNKtopia will increase advertising on television, print ads, and provide discounts and incentives to customers that want the ink delivered. The increase of advertising will continue to help the company grow, expand, and build a larger consumer base. Maturity Phase The maturity Phase will create a slowdown in sales growth because the product has achieved acceptance by most potential buyers (Kotler Keller, 2012, p. 310). As iNKtopia s profits become stable or deteriorate because of an increase in competition the company must look to diversify. If the company is successful up to this point the product will unavoidably lead to more competition. Competitors will eventually start introducing similar products, or larger ink companies may simply lower the price of their ink. Therefore iNKtopia will need to diversify or develop new products, services, or lower costs to distinguish iNKtopia s products from the competitors. Ideally, iNKtopia can enhance customer services and its image to become a leader in the ink industry. This could also be coupled with a change in the pricing strategy by slightly lowering the cost of iNKtopia products. However, iNKtopia will strive to create superior customer service and innovation of the ink business to hopefully create additional sales and attract even more customers. Another promotional idea would be to focus on the environmental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Musculoskeletal System Of The Human Body Not only are there damages to the immune system of the human body, but the musculoskeletal system is also at a very large risk for injury, even from the seat of a chair. German Researcher, T. This shows the negative effect that sitting has on human behavior cross culturally by comparing the lifestyles of societies whose people are deskbound to ones that are not. When cultures such as the Japanese perform tasks such as squatting to use the toilet, or to stand up from a bed that is on the floor (not elevated) requires a full range of motion. This full range of motion is lost when humans sit in an unnatural state for a majority of their day, and makes aging an accelerated process. It s known that sitting and rising from the floor is a basic functional process integrated into all human movement patters, and when one loses the ability to perform this action, they lose their livelihood. • 6. Structuralism Criticism In Sherlock Holmes By Arthur Conan... Many authors have the option of how she or she would want their series of short stories to be structured. They can either be in the same format or play around and have the stories to be various formats. With that said, readers can then analyze the stories by taking a structuralist approach. A Structuralism Criticism is analyzing the test or narrative as a whole to understand its significance (Parker). To say it easier, readers analyze the text aesthetically (body and form) to see why the text written in this specific format is important. When Helen gives details and specifics, Watson takes notes and they re ready to head off. When Holmes notices that the case is going to be dangerous, Watson insists on coming along. Even though Holmes always asks Watson to tag along in a majority of the Holmes stories, in this specific story, Holmes doesn t directly ask for Watson s presence. Instead, Watson insists on coming along without having Holmes ask him prior. He just comes along after convincing Holmes that he can handle every kind of danger. Moving along, when the clues are becoming hinted, Holmes is always two steps ahead whereas Watson is two steps behind. Watson is always seen as a sidekick to Holmes and isn t quite there yet of being up to par with Holmes strategies. Subliminal Messages Should Not Be Legal Subliminal messages By: Edianis Seda Advanced Placement Psychology Mr. Cuetara June, 4th 2015 Abstract Subliminal messages are messages that are perceived in the unconscious mind that most of the time we are not aware of. These messages are mainly designed to influence that way we think and feel. They are used to get people to buy products from their company. Subliminal messages can be perceived auditory or visually. Subliminal messages should not be legal and should be banned from being used in advertisement for it can lead to negative results. There should be another way to advertise that. Genetically Modified Foods Research Paper Even though it is evident that the potential of genetically modified organisms to improve our food production is astronomical, they are not without their drawbacks. Since it is the negative public opinion of genetically modified organisms that is affecting their application their negative aspects are often magnified and become very important to their future use. To accurately understand the full story of genetically modified organisms it is important to look at some of the real issues that they present and weigh these negatives against the many positives outlined earlier. One of the issues that is very concerning to a large portion of the population is the lack of independent review for biotech companies on their use and application of genetically modified organisms. According to Robin Mather, a Senior Associate Editor at Mother Earth News who has written about GM crops since the early 1990s, As the system now stands, biotech companies bring their own research to the government body overseeing their products (Mather 44). While walking down the row of seats I found myself searching for the seat without trash, or holes in the seat. While on my train ride I noticed by surroundings. The vast amount of different people on the train amazed me. There was an elderly gentleman on my right, and in the seat in front of me was a man who did not have the most pleasant scent. Noticing people eating, coughing, or sleeping and drooling on the window I quickly came to the realization of how many germs are on this train. Things such as public transportplay a role in public healthsignificantly. With all of the germs on public transportation people can pick up things easily. For example, the measles outbreak that was in Disney World, could be picked up through public transportation. People touching poles, seats, could pose the risk of spreading many communicable diseases. I personally do not believe that public transportation does a great job in the sanitation department. However, on the flip side public transportation is also beneficial to public health. According to the APHA people located near major highways and road ways have an increase in respiratory illness due to the amount of pollution. Therefore, by taking public transportation such as the train, or subway this reduces the amount of pollution causes by cars, trucks, and other vehicles on the road. 2.Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 Everyday I try to ... • 15. Key Values Revealed In Homer s Odyssey 1. The key values that are shown in Chapter 1 were humanism and freedom to think. In humanism gods are superior to man, and as Zeus says, I am mightiest of all. (Hamilton 20) Zeus is showing the gods are mightier than the humans and Zeus, the mightiest of the gods. Also, the humans had the freedom to think and worship. When his (Zeus) worship spread to a town where there was already a divine ruler the two were slowly fused into one. (Hamilton 21) This shows that the Greeksfreely worshiped Zeus and other gods, and their worship of one god spread from town to town based on their beliefs. 2. The god that I most relate to is Phoebus Apollo. No false word ever falls from his lips. (Hamilton 25) Apollo is the God of Truth, and if you knew me, I never tell a lie. I have been raised to where the truth may hurt, but is always the right thing to say. If my mom ever caught me lying to her, I would be punished. Philosophy of Psychology Jessica Germany Freed Hardeman University Philosophy of Psychology Introduction As an occupational therapist, I hope to use a number of different psychological theories. The main perspective I will use is Behavior Psychology. Most of my therapy techniques will come from Skinner s theory of operant condition. By using Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), I can help modify children s behavior. The second perspective I will use is Neuropsychology. In treating autistic children, and other people with various disorders, it is important to understand the different brain chemistry that each has. In most circumstances, a part of the brain is affected that inhibits an aspect of the child s behavior. History Both behavioral psychology and neuropsychology have rich backgrounds. For the purposes of my philosophy of psychology, I will cover operant condition and Skinner s approach to verbal behavior. I will also look aspects of neuropsychology such as neuroplasticity and the dimensional systems model. I will also look at Sensory Integration theory, which combines a number of different perspectives including behavioral and neuropsychology. Behavioral Therapy The father of Behavioral Psychology is Watson. Another iconic psychologist in this aspect is B. F. Skinner. Skinner s major theory is operant conditioning. It is important to keep in mind that a vacuum force can be generated that could literally rip a person s limb off of a body. During operation, always keep a safe distance from the suction tip and be aware of the location of all emergency shut off features. Grounding Vacuuming can generate static electricity, which could trigger a spark. If the material being suctioned has a flash point below 140 degrees, it could potentially create an explosion. • 20. The Period Of The Absorbent Mind Essay Human beings are nature s most incredible creation, and early childhood is the crucial period, where the foundation for his/her future is going to be established. The period of the Absorbent Mind (Birth to Six years) along with the Sensitive periods, plays a significant part in the development of movement, language and social skills of the child. During the first three years of life, the child s mind is unconscious and purely absorbent. He/She has the ability to imbibe whatever happens in the environment, and later use it towards the overall development (physical as well as psychic). The Study of the Sensitive periods (a distinct sensibility of the child towards acquiring a particular characteristic), helps in understanding the psychic growth of the child. A child is born in this world; this implies he/she has entered a new environment, ready to absorb every minute activity that happens around them. Whatever is formed at that time in the child s mneme has the power to become eternal (The Absorbent Mind, Dr. Maria Montessori, Page No.120) Horme The Unconscious inner drive of the child, awakens the child s enthusiasm towards his/her environment in the first three years of birth. Domestic Violence, Maternal Depression, And Home Environment As seen in the previous studies, children living in domestic violent homes not only have to face the direct violence that is happening at the moment, but also have to face the indirect change that is brought after the violence has occurred. Using a sample of 100 women and their children ages 3 5, the study conducted by Huth Bocks, Levendosky, and Semel (2001) examined maternal psychological functioning and its impact of the quality of the home environment in a domestic violent household. After observing these indirect variables, assessments were made to determine if domestic violencehad indirect affects on children s intellectual functioning (Huth Bocks, Levendosky, Semel, 2001). The three independent variables that were used in this study to determine the outcome (intellectual functioning) were: domestic violence, maternal depression, and home environment (Huth Bocks, et al., 2001). The Severity of Violence Against Women Scales measured domestic violence from 0 to 3 (never, once, a few times, many times). The Beck Depression Inventory was used to measure the severity of maternal depression that women experienced due to the domestic violence. The Home Observation for Measurement of the Environment was used to measure the quality of the home environment. Because of their recent war against a monarchy, no one thought that giving the government too much power would be a good idea. Therefore the newly founded America created a government that mostly gave complete freedom to the people. As a result of this, the government was in over its head with problems. For example; a large amount of debt and the gou t couldn t raise the money they need to pay back their debts because they weren t allowed to tax the people. And so, many of the Antifederalists feared that people of influence and wealth would worm their way into the government and control the country from positions of power. As a result, Antifederalist feared a government with power much more than the chaos caused by a weak government. Regarding this, many Antifederalists shared a mutual concern when it came to the prospect of a complicated federal gou t controlling a country as large as the United States, many of them assuming it would be near impossible. Furthermore, Antifederalist also argued that the new gou t would give the president to much power, and feared that the population wouldn t be given the ideal representation. To further elaborate, having the proper representation for the population was essential for the Antifederalist because it would help ensure that the gou t couldn t impose taxes and other things on the population without consulting them first. As Patrick Henry once warned, be extremely cautious, watchful, jealous of your liberty; for instead of securing your rights, you may lose them forever (Appleby 209). Henry is expressing the dangers that might follow the new gou t. In Particular, he was elaborating that instead of keeping their freedom and gaining order, like the federalists have promised, he feared that their freedom would be at risk instead. I will be showing my understanding/knowledge, thinking and communication. Define: В¬Condensation: The process where water vapor or in other words (gas) transitions into water droplets (a liquid). This is when we begin to see clouds form. В¬Evaporation: The change of the state from water to water vapor, an estimated average 47 inches is evaporated into the atmosphere from the ocean each year. В¬Sublimation: It is the process where ice and snow change into water vapor. They are able to do that without moving through the liquid phase В¬Evamp transpiration: The cumulative loss by evaporation and transpiration. To begin with, the hydrologic cycle doesn t have an area where the sequences commence. Therefore, it will begin in the ocean since that s where the most of the earth s water exists. The energy from the sun heats the ocean water, causing it to evaporate. Condensation, the water vaporizes into water vapor. Subsequently, the vapor ascends into the atmosphere condensation is crucial to the hydrologic cycle because it is in charge of forming the clouds. Sublimation is the process where ice directly converts into water vapor without converting into liquid. Furthermore, it has a slower process than evaporation. Precipitation, clouds begin to form and it begins to precipitate due to either wind or temperature change. Transpiration, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. The Game Of Soccer Essay Description Soccer is a sport played with two teams of eleven players on a rectangular grass field with a ball and typically lasts 90 minutes. The players wear shorts, a short sleeved jersey, shin guards, long socks, and cleats. Of the eleven players, one is a goalkeeper and the remaining players are either playing defense, midfield, or forward. The goalkeeper s objective is to stop the ball from going into his or her team s goal. The other players, using only their feet, must dribble and pass the ball in order to move it up the field and attempt to place the ball in the opposing team s goal. In the middle of both short ends of the field, there is a goal, one belonging to each team.(Swanson) The objective of each team is to place the ball in the goal of the opposing team to get a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. History There is evidence tracing soccer back to 2000 BC. At this time, the game was played by the Romans, Greeks, and Chinese. • 40. How Descartes Throws On The Wind Of Search For A Universal... In this essay I will address how Descartes throws all his beliefs to the wind in search for a universal and unchanging foundational truth, that bypass his deceptive senses and shines light on all his beliefs that are clearly and distinctly, proven based on his supreme foundational truth. As Descartes tries to unravel his former beliefs and find an unquestioning truth in which he can build all other truths without the errors of deception leading him astray. Descartes begins his search by questioning how his former beliefs became questionable and faulty in the first place. In meditation one Descartes explains that everything that he had previously believed in before had been learned either by his sensory perceptions or through his sensory ... However Descartes does see that even though his senses can deceive him that doesn t mean that his senses aren t altogether a deception themselves. His mind cannot create something that he himself has never felt, heard, seen, smelled, or tasted before, the mind creates what it has encountered before and sometimes even if you haven t encountered a specific situation or sensation the mind will at least compare it to something of similar sensation. So, for this Descartes knows that his senses have the ability to deceive him but that when they do deceive him they are using real reference points. With the false sensory perceptions in mind, Descartes believes of this idea that an evil demon exist to solely try and deceive him using his senses. Which leads Descartes to cut out all understanding and beliefs of everything he cant be sure of no sky, no earth, no minds, no bodies (pg. 139). But then Descartes realizes and states in his second meditation, if he cut outs everything in which he thought existed what would he be left with, nothing, would he himself even exist? No, he has to exist right because he s thinking and the evil demon is deceiving him. The evil demon would not try and deceive him if he did not exist in the first place. (Descartes Meditations 1 3, slide 26) This train of thought leads Descartes to his most famous line and the basis ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. How The Australian Media Covers And Reports Crime This report aims to analyse how the Australian media covers and reports crime. To accomplish this, the report will explore how The Australian covered the Cairns child murders, in the article entitled Cairns deaths: A good mum who concealed her demons published on December 27th 2014. The report will provide insight into the explanation for the crimes occurrence, while investigating the prevalence of the crimetype murder, in Australia. It will also make reference to two of Chibnall s news values : dramatization and personalization. On the 19th of December 2014, eight children aged 18 months to 16 years were found dead inside a home in Manoora, Cairns. Investigation revealed that 37 year old Raina Mersane Ina Thaiday had murdered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The final reason the article gives, is that Thaiday drank alcohol and used marijuana (Walker and Elks 2014) and had actually been up late drinking the night before the murders. Again, this theory presented by The Australian can be supported by statistics, as there is strong evidence of an association between the consumption of alcohol and violence (AIC 2010). The Australian is therefore linking the cause of the crime to three interrelated factors: recurring cycle of abuse due to mental health issues, poverty and substance abuse. The type of crime reported on is murder. According to the most recent statistics published on murder in Australia, there are 1.1 victims per 100,000 persons (ABS 2013). This makes it a fairly un common crime, when compared with other western nations, such us the United States, in which murder rates are 4.7 victims per 100,000 persons (U.S Department Of Justice 2011). The Australian media however, reports on murder in such a way, which makes it seem more prevalent than it actually is. This is done through dramatized coverage, and drip feed reporting. Thaiday s crime is prevalent however, in the sense that she committed her murders with a steak knife. And of weapons used in murder, a knife is the most common at 43 ... • 44. Total Recall essay (PHIL 1003) Fact or Fiction? Total Recall Paper PHIL 2003 013 Usually at least once in a lifetime a person will question whether a dream was reality or not. It is rare to think I am just dreaming in a dream. In the 1990s movie Total Recall the director, Paul Verhoeven, attempts to illustrate the puzzling question of what is reality and what is not? With Arnold Schwarzenegger in this futuristic flick, the director cleverly confuses the audience about what is real in the movie, making one doubt each previous scene. Total Recall begins with the main character, Douglas Quaid, on a mission to decipher a reoccurring dream that takes place in Mars. His curiosity and frustrations take him to ReKall Inc. who has a specialty in a very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His belief in God even affected his theories on reality. One of his theories was that he was being deceived by a conniving and mischievous demon that was hell bent on distorting his reality. The demon could be comparable to the evil dictator and the memory replacing machine in Total Recall. Despite the evil demon, Descartes did manage to reveal one very true thing and that is that he must exist if he truly is being deceived by the evil demon because he needs to exist in order to be deceived. He later summarizes this into his famous phrase I think, therefore, I am. (Descartes 136). The second philosopher that analyses the problem of what is reality and what is not in the Introduction to Philosophy textbook is Christopher Grau. Grau, in his essay, expands on Descartes idea of the evil demon by basing it off of The Matrix with his theory, The Brain in a Vat Theory. The theory is just like it sounds. Just like in Total Recall, an extremely intelligent device has the ability to give humans and gives them a false reality of a life. What Grau is purposing is that we, as people, could quite possibly be hooked up to a super computer and given false memories and experiences as well. In conclusion, Total Recall is a ... • 45. Why Is Finitude Important In Malcolm X s Life Human beings are not as perfect as we d like to believe. We are constrained by our abilities, actions, knowledge, and death to live a life that can never reach its full potential. This concept of finitude plays a significant role in Malcolm X s life and autobiography. X becomes aware of this aspect of the human condition at a very early age and it seems that he acts with this idea almost always in the back of his mind. Malcolm Xdoes not live a conservative or docile life. He is determined to live his life to the fullest and by the end of the book, his only goal is to spread his thoughts and ideas as much as he can before his time on this Earth is up. We are first acquainted with finitude on the mere second page of this book. While we as humans like to believe that we will live long and prosperous lives, Malcolm X seems to understand the true nature of our existence before he is even able to go to grade school. With constant threats from the KKK and several violent deaths of African Americans in the community, it was near impossible for him to live as deluded as several of other did. His father had also accepted the finite features of our existence and began to risk his life and dedicate himself to civil rights. X realizes that he was likely to follow in his father s steps by stating It has always been my belief that I, too, will die by violence. I have done all I can to be prepared (2) After recounting the events leading up to and immediately after his father s death, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
