Running Head: ACTIVITY BASED COSTING
Activity Based Costing

Abstract
This paper provides a brief presentation of Activity Based Costing methodology, how is used as well
as its short comings.
Activity Based Costing
Activity based costing (ABC) methodology is an instrument designed to provide accountants and
managers with valuable costing information that will allow them to make sound strategic decisions. It
is used as a secondary methodology rather than a replacement for the company s primarily costing
system. The ABC methodology identifies activities in an organization and for each activity it assigns a
cost. The cost reflects the actual resource consumption by each activity that has been identified.
Under a traditional system, overhead cost is allocated to an activity based on hours or rates for direct
labor or machine usage. However, this approach does not clearly indicate how much overhead cost
will be needed in order to complete a job through a particular function. ABC methodology is to be
used as an alternative to traditional accounting where a business s overhead costs (indirect costs such
as electrical energy consumption for heating or cooling, or indirect cost associated with marketing) are
allocated as a proportion of direct costs, to an activity. This approach is unsatisfactory because there
can be cases where two activities could absorb the same direct costs

Family Themes In David Copperfield
We are going to focus on the book David Copperfield out of all that concern the theme of family and
parenting issues, although Dickens s work is known for the transition from childhood to adulthood
theme, we can draw some scenes with the family theme and another theme that wasn t really a matter
in the time when Dickens wrote, the adoption which was added later in the Victorian time. Charles
Dickens also targeted the father figure in his works, how he was viewed and how children dealt with
the absent of a father figure.
Parents are important for the right upbringing of a child, their support and their care shape the child in
what it would be in the future; the way parents behave and talk, their temperament also has an
influence in the upbringing due to the fact that children copy what their parents do most of the times
and a bad influence in going to take them on the wrong path when they grown up.
As the book opens, we find out the David s father has passed away before the ... Show more content

Victorians too, adoption and single parenting was kind of taboo topic but Dickens wanted to show a

Hills Like White Elephants, By Ernest Hemmingway
In the story Hills Like White Elephants, Ernest Hemmingway allows a superficial plot to symbolically
display a conflict between choice of destination as a couple s discussion between train rides. The
layers of description and dialog manipulate a small moment of time and demonstrate that a human
choice can range while perspective shifts the understood potential of the landscape. By crafting an
intricate story that is filled with symbolism and overlapping complexities, Hemmingway provides a
sophisticated short story that exposes the feelings behind controversial life choices. The story begins
by introducing the side of the valley with no shade and no trees, a forty minute wait time, and the
couple in Spain. The two are described at first as an American and a ... Show more content on

feels fine because pregnancy isn t some problem that needs an abortion to remedy it. Through the
numerous details, Hemmingway creates a short story that reflects the opinions of two very different
opinions. In one case, change is something that is desired, yet in the same relationship, change can be
too consequential to readily accept. The differing nature scenes and the descriptions of characters
created a duality while the setting facilitated symbolism. Overall, the implementation of many factors

Research Paper On Homo Sapien Animals
Jordan Woltjer 8/28/2016 The Homo Sapien species has existed for 60 to 120 thousand years. Only
during the last ten thousand years have humans existed in civilizations, with a multitude of differing
forms that underwent development patterns often as a result of interaction with foreign societies.
Because humans have existed in a wide variety of structural contexts, it becomes exceedingly difficult
to derive universal human attributes that can be used to produce a theorem of human nature. The
difficulty lies in that the varying forms of human socialization and institutions profoundly influence
the value systems of the societal occupants. Thus, humans operate and think differently in different
societies. For example, in modern liberal market

Essay on UCSB as a Rationalist Organization
The University of California Santa Barbara is an organization revolving around students and faculty
alike. Any organizations can reflect two contrasting perspectives, a Naturalist or Rationalist, which
underlines and questions the ideas of structure and formality. Naturalist organizations convey
informality due to the basis on the flow of the members behavior and relationships among others. But
nonetheless, Rationalist organization is formal because the organization s fluidity is based on the
members limits and structure. Thus, I am going to argue that overall UCSB is a Rationalist
organization, rather than Naturalist, because UCSB has created limits and structure for its students and
faculty; but first, I will discuss Naturalists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
UCSB is not a naturalist organization because students and faculty do not have the same authority to
be informal with one another. Yet, UCSB s goals emulate some Naturalist theory as seen in their
mission statement. Their mission statement states that each student and faculty member will
experience an educational journey of discovery that stimulates independent thought, critical reasoning,
and creativity... [through] interdisciplinary collaboration that is responsive to the needs of our
multicultural and global society (Mission Statement). Naturalists goals denies specificity and are
unclear to each member divulging a different academic path for each student or faculty member
(Sutton 1/20/11). By looking at an aggregate level, UCSB members work together to achieve that
educational journey of creativity , but on an individual level, each member has varying goals for his or
herself depending on his or her role. Students do not have the same goals as their professors or the
Chancellor, their goal is to work to achieve their degree whereas the Chancellor s goal is to provide a
thought provoking experience for his students. The mission state accommodates and supplies a
different experience for each member because it is ambiguous. UCSB members must explore their
own path to achieve their own goals to understand what their education and careers meant. Naturalist
goals determine

Key Factors For School Wide Behavior
Key Factors for School Wide Behavior Supports
Implementation and Sustainability
Benoit A. Wyble
Texas A M University San Antonio
In the field of education there are many factors that contribute to the success and failures of students
and teachers who work to educate. Of these factors, perhaps one of the most important is in the area of
classroom behavior and behavior management. Behavior management is such an important aspect in
this field that teachers often highlight the frustration of dealing with bad students and bad behaviors as
a leading cause of leaving the profession (Reinke, Herman, Stormont, 2013). Taking on the task of

As mentioned the focus of much of the current research is on identifying those factors that individuals
within education feel are most important to the successful implementation and sustainment of an
effective SWPBIS program. Factors that have been found through the various research to be most
important include administrator support, confidence in SWPBIS, and proper application of data
(Bambara, Goh, Kern, Caskie, 2012; Mathews, McIntosh, Frank, May, 2014; McIntosh, Predy, Upreti,
Hume, Turri, Mathews, 2014; McIntosh, Sterett, Hume, Frank, Turri, Mathews, 2013). Studies have
hypothesized that these factors would be seen singled out as having the biggest impacts. These beliefs
tended to play out within the results of the studies. Administrative support in the form of a strong
school principle and staff buy in were seen to be instrumental in the implementation of a solid
program by the educators who agreed to be surveyed (McIntosh, et al., 2014). The findings showing
that school personnel believe that having a strong school principle who provides for and supports the
use of SWPBIS tends to make sense when viewed from the perspective of leadership. Schools where
staff believe the principle to have strong and effecitve leadership skills score significantly higher
results in student behavior outcomes when SWPBIS is being implemented

Symbolism Of Fire In Lord Of The Flies By William Golding
Fire, in today s society, is used for several different reasons including warmth, cooking, and
destruction while prescription glasses have mainly one purpose, to help aid in eyesight. But for Piggy,
the most rational of the group, and Ralph, the leader of all the kids, fire and a pair of bifocals are
solely used for survival. Jack on the other hand, who is the leader of the savages, uses fire to harm and
control others around him. Lord of the Flies by William Golding acquires an elaborate way to develop
deeper meanings of each of the symbols especially fire and Piggy s glasses. The symbolic meaning of
fire is demonstrated throughout the book in many different fashions but mainly it is portrayed as a
symbol of life and social order. If ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now that Jack is the new leader, he became increasingly greedy and mean and exiled Ralph and Piggy
from the rest of the group and left them with nothing, except the symbolic origin of fire, Piggy s
glasses. But instead of using fire to divide the group they really needed everyone to come together to
create a controlled fire so they can get off the island. While Ralph and Piggy were away Jack tried to
create a signal fire, but instead he created a bonfire that ended up burning a quarter of the island down.
Piggy walks up to Jack and told him (because he was mad): You got your small fire all right. ...the
boys were falling still and silent, feeling the beginnings of awe at the power set free below them (55).
Jack knew they needed a fire, but in reality Jack did not understand how destructive a fire can be, and
ended up killing one of the members of the group with the fire he started. With the group divided and
life in danger, the symbolic meaning of fire is displayed in this quote because it demonstrates the order
and or chaos that is on the island and how nearly all of the social structure on the island could be lost
as quickly as the time it takes to snap Piggy s glasses in half. The symbol of Piggy s Glasses is
illustrated in many different ways, such as structure and civilization. When Piggy first got onto the
island, he looked at it

Anti-Intellectualism Why We Hate The Smart Kids Summary
Grant Penrod, a young college student at Arizona State University, shows how rough the smart kids
have it, in his essay Anti Intellectualism: Why We Hate the Smart Kids. In Penrod s essay, he shows
the reader the cruel and unusual punishment that smart kids go through. Penrod uses a very calm tone
of writing but ramps it up with occasional quotes of hate towards these certain students. Penrod opens
up his essay with a story from his senior year in high school, where his school s football team won the
state football championship, and so did most of the school s various academic teams. When telling this
story he went into detail on how much praise the football team got, and put even more attention to the

Argumentative Essay On Screen Time
Technology has been part of our daily live more frequently than before. Screen time has been more
popularly used on kids and adolescents. On a daily bases many kids seem to spend more time inside
on their tablets, instead of having to spend time with other kids. This is a problem that is becoming
more popular over the years,on whether kids need to spend that much time on technology or not.
Parents either seem to have strict technology usage, or they either don t. There has always been a huge
controversy with experts, who either think that screen time is beneficial or could cause problems later
on in life. There are many views towards this topic, from hurting kids brains, to helping them during
school, and socially. Many people, including ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to balance both there has to be comparative with the parents. Technology isn t good nor bad.
It can only benefit the child if the parents put a limit to their time in the screen. Parents need to set up
a schedule in where the kids will follow the time the kids will be using the tablet/ phone. As well have
time to play with other kids, and just interact with there own family member. In the article, Screen
time: A guide for parents states, keeping computers out of the bedroom, and keep them in a common
area in your house. This will make sure that the child isn t using their computers/ tablets during the
time they have to rest. Kids need to have a good rest, and not having technology in their rooms
because it could cause irregular sleep. Just having the parent take action in how much kids need to
spend time in the screens can be a good start. Luscombe argues, Take away the idea that all screens are
bad, but the face to face time for young people is an important part of the socialization process .
Parents seem to not understand that children need to develop good social skills, and that can only be
done by interacting with others, and get a sense on others points of views. Parents need to stop giving
the kids technology to keep them quiet for a while, because at the end it s hurting the child

Why I Chose To College
One of the biggest decisions that I have made in my life has been where to go to college. Our
counselors were telling us from the tenth grade to have our colleges picked out and start doing well on
the SATs. I knew even from that age I wanted to go into engineering, I loved to work with my hands
and always wanted to help build new things. I did not know at the time which type of engineering or
which school that I wanted to go into.
I spoke with my parents about my future career and at first they were not supportive of engineering.
They never had any family member that completed engineering so they were apprehensive on if I
would like it. They wanted me to go to the medical field even though I did not like it as much. I made

I have heard stories of my dad who used to work in the middle east when he was my age. He worked

colleges in Texas. My cousin went to Texas A M and after doing research, A M was a recognized
school for engineering. When submitting my applications, I knew that I had the grades to make it to A
M but still was a little nervous. I finally got my acceptance letter and I knew the next four years were
going to be difficult. When I got to college I had to work hard because of the entry to a major policy
that was initiated at the time, I had to apply for my major after freshman year to be considered a spot. I
eventually got into my degree program as well and I am more than half way though my petroleum
engineering degree. I continue to work hard because of the decline in the oil and gas industry, they are

A Modern Twist on Classical Renunciation
A Modern Twist on Classical Renunciation
Hinduism is a vast and very complex religion to comprehend and consists of various different
branches of philosophies. Although it is considered that Hinduism does not necessarily have one text
that provides the guidelines for the contemporary Hindu devotee, like the Bible does for Christians,
but there are a few scriptures that help identify the ultimate goal for the followers of Hinduism. The
Upanishads try to exemplify the message of obtaining the righteous path as much as possible with
rooting its context to the most ancient Hindu text, the Vedas. Tying both of these scriptures together
the main purpose of a practicing Hindu is laid out; which is being able to obtain moksha, or liberation,

Even though accepting the Advaita Vedanta means that there is no classification of male or female
amongst people, it still sets a barrier for women because according to the Dharmasharstras, women
were unfit to learn Vedic rituals and studies which are key requirements of sannyasa (Khandelwal
2004: 37). Herein lies the most significant deviation from the classical perspective of renunciation in
modernity; most contemporary female renouncers, also referred to as sannyasinis, have broken out of
a tradition that is characterized by the renunciation of rituals. They therefore have effectively
redefined renunciation on their own terms. Like most classical renouncers, sannyasinis also build
vairgya and have completely detachment from worldly materials. But unlike the classical renunciation
where a renouncer would go off to the forest and be by himself, the modern day female renouncers
have become more involved in social activism (Khandelwal 2004: 49). This is a clear alteration from
the classical renouncer because now the female renouncers are participating in a form of actions which
is still continue their cycle of karma, whereas the end goal is to stop exactly that according to the
classical practices. In Khandelwal s book Women in Ochre Robes, she uses various examples of how
different women are using types of social activism throughout their practices.

Why Was Persepolis Important To The Persians
The establishment of the magnificent city of Persepolis was of great importance to Persia from 500
BCE to 330 BCE. This city, built by Darius was so important to the Persians because it was the
ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid empire, a sacred and symbolic region for the Persians and also
because it was dedicated to hold official audiences. Through an exploration of both primary and
secondary sources, the reason behind why the establishment of Persepolis is of such importance to the
Persians gas becomes much clearer.
Darius the great beginning construction in 518 BCE established Persepolis, the capital of ancient
Persia. The reasons to its establishment is still consider a mystery but what we do know is that it was

Ruled by darius and then xerxes it was considered the ceremonial capital of Persia. The establishment
of this capital further aided the Persians in ceremonies, trade and most importantly gained respect of
other countries in battle. Persepolis was the example of par excellence of the dynasty. The first reason,
which highlighted the importance, was the ceremonies. Celebrations varied in sizes and all had
different reasons. The most important ceremony that was celebrated is the event Nowruz . Nowruz
meaning new day, was the name of the Iranian New Year. This ceremony created a majestic
atmosphere for the Persians. This event celebrated the first day of spring or Equinox at the beginning
of the year in the Persian calendar. Nowruz is about the only tradition to not resolve around a religious
group. The establishment of Persepolis gave the Persians the opportunity to celebrate as a whole. The
second reason that highlighted the importance of the establishment of Persepolis was the trade. The
Achaemenid Empire was rich and luxurious. An example of trade in Persepolis included darius
revolutionising it by placing it on a silver and gold coinage system and the popular trade items
included orange, Shaw and turquoise. By establishing Persepolis it enhanced trade in the Achaemenid
Empire. The final reason that highlights the importance of the establishment of Persepolis was their
success in battle. Darius and xerxes were highly successful in battle and there are still structures that
depict the sister countries giving the kings gifts. Some of these included lions from the elamites,
brahma bull from the Babylonians and even cloth from the Lydian bolts. Alexander involved
Persepolis as a whole in the battle of the Persian gate, which they weren t successful in which led to its
destruction. Even due to this fact the establishment of Persepolis was highly important to the

Pediculosis Research Paper
Pediculosis Pediculosis, more widely known as lice, is a transmittable skin infection caused by a blood

usually feed about five times per day causing severe itching, also known as pruritus. Pruritus can lead
to sores, which can lead to a secondary bacterial skin infection. Lice can affect the hair, body, and
pubic region. In the United States alone it is found that from 6 million to 12 million new cases of head
lice are diagnosed in school children each year. Pediculus humanus capitis infects the head, which can

neck, and thighs. Pubic lice is caused by Phthirus pubis which is commonly referred to as crabs
because of its claws on its second and third legs that so closely resemble a rock crab. Pubic lice in
transmitted through sexual contact and is highly likely to be caught by an unsuspecting person. Risk
for pubic lice from sexual experiences can exceed 90 percent. Infestation of pubic lice is found in the

new infestations of lice are becoming resistant to typical treatments and new treatments are being

As Clearly And Carefully As You Can
Voluntarists and non voluntarists have had intense debate on the issue of religion and morality. The
underlying central argument of the debate is whether the morality requires a religious foundation or
not. While the voluntarists claim that morality does require a religious foundation, non voluntarists
assert that it doesn t. David Brink and George Mavrodes argues with this theme of voluntarist and non
voluntarist. My essay will largely focus on the strengths and weakness of both voluntarists and non
voluntarists associating with Mavrodes and Brink s idea on this issue.
Voluntarists are the people who insist that it is the will or the attitude of god that determines morality
and its qualities, while the non voluntarists argue that moral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

What Brink argues is that if the natural properties of a situation determine its moral properties, then its
moral properties can t depend on god s will. He further states that if voluntarism were true, then two
situations could have different moral properties even if there were no natural differences between
them, i.e. , if god s attitudes to the two tokens of the same type were different, one system could be
unjust, but an absolute same one of that system don t have to be unjust. Therefore, the second
argument against to the voluntarism is that voluntarism implies a rejection of supervenience of the
moral properties of natural ones, which rejecting supervenience is counterintuitive and thus
voluntarism has a counterintuitive implication.
The third opposition is a substantive claim argument. This argument explains that if the god merely
selects whatever he or she wants to be good or right, then when people say God is good , this notion
becomes trivial and non substantive. This argument implies that if voluntarism is true, then praise of
god as good or right wouldn t be meaningful. For example, we can pick our own grades for the work
we had done but don t consider their quality which are independent of our choice of grade. It would
genuinely not count as substantive praise if one person says to another you got an A. You did very well
.
On the contrary, there are also arguments against non voluntarism. To begin

Cataclysmic Events Causing Mass Extinction
Over 250 million years ago, Earth was struck with an asteroid that wiped out 95% of all species. This
devastating event was followed by another natural disaster when, 50 million years later, a volcanic
eruption caused massive lava floods. The floods triggered the breakup of Pangea, the original
continent. This volcanic eruption created extreme global warming and the extinction of 70% of marine
life. These two examples are not the only times Earth has experienced mass extinction. An extinction
may be viewed as a natural part of evolution that occurs when a large proportion of a particular
species completely dies off and ceases to exist. Extinctions are considered to be mass extinctions if the
number of species becoming extinct is significantly larger than the normal, natural rate of extinction.
These mass extinctions disrupt the entire global community.
Cataclysmic events causing mass extinctions have occurred five times throughout history, each being
caused by a sudden natural phenomenon such as an asteroid or volcano. We are currently in the midst

National African American History Year
Every year, February is to be known as the Black History Month, or formally known as National
African American History Month. It is an annual commemoration of achievements by African
Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African Americans in United States history.
Black History Month had its origins in 1915 when Dr. Cater G. Woodson and his colleagues founded
the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History ( African American History Month, 2014).
This organization is now known as the Association for the Study of African American Life and
History. Through this organization, Dr. Cater G. Woodson played the greatest role in helping all
Americans know the Black past by initiating Negro History Week in Washington, D.C. in February
1926 (Bunch, 2012). Dr. Woodson selected the week in February that included the birthdays of
Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass due to the fact they were key figures in the history of
African Americans ( African American History Month, 2014). According to Bunch (2012), Woodson
believed that the black experience was too important simply to be left to a small group of academics.
Dr. Cater G. Woodson, a son of a slave, was born in New Canton, Virginia on December 19, 1875
(Bellis, n.d.). Although he did not enter high school until the age of 20, he continued to study at Berea
College, the University of Chicago, the Sorbonne, and Harvard University, where he earned a PhD in
1912 (Bellis, n.d.). During this time,

Advantages Of Having An Architect
Do I need an architect?
There is no law saying you have to employ an architect, however its advised that you do employ an
architect.
At any point you need planning permission, you need an architect
Without an architect you are putting your trust in a builder whose judgement and vision is one you ll
need to trust, if this is the case then an architect is less necessary
If you are not sure of what you want, then an architect can help give you ideas and guide you in the
right direction.
If you don t trust builders, or are busy or inexperienced, an architect can help you keep an informed

The Stranger is one of the most distinguished and literarily acclaimed novels written in the history of

The response of the funeral director I understand leads to another thought. Maybe he didn t want to

revealed that he left his mother while she was ill in a nursing home, as opposed to taking care of her.
The details of the relationship between him and his mother while she was alive also reveals or at least
raises questions about meursault s characterization. The first words of this novel are Maman died
today . Maman is a french term referring to his mother in a childish juvenile term, almost like mama.
This word is at a striking contrast to his later and much more frequent use of the word mother because
it gives a seam of light of human emotions in a dark cellar of a distasteful, indifferent , and mechanical
outlook of the world. Towards the end of this novel he explains how his outlook on life may not have

In the early 70s, the cattle market suffered a severe crash. To combat this and increase beef demand,
the ANCA helped create a beef checkoff program which began in 1986 and worked to educate the

combined with the ANCA to create the National Cattlemen s Association, developing a wider
membership in the cattle industry. Over the next 20 years the group was able to fully focus on its
policy actions by concerning itself with several issues regarding future markets, food safety, and the

allowing for full coverage of all aspects of the cattle industry and creating the National Cattlemen s

Analyzing Dna Matches From Identical Twins And Other...
Each person s genome apart from identical twins or other multiple births is distinct because of
variations in allele frequencies which cause chromosomes to have certain genotypes. This indicates
that when the DNA found at a crime location matches a person s, the individual is the culprit of the
crime; however, finalizing a case is not this elementary. The evidence collected from a scene does not
show the person s entire genome. While it can certainly point to suspects whose DNA matches the
samples collected from the scene, it does not secure a definite criminal. Analyzing DNA requires
understanding of a few complex fundamentals, but probability paired with statistical reasoning
provides for a more accurate approach in assessing DNA matches. Humans each have 23 pairs of
chromosomes that have similar sequences since they are analogous in gene chronology. They are not
identical, though, because one chromosome is composed of alleles of a gene from one parent, and one
chromosome is composed of alleles from the other (Dawid and Thomas). Short tandem repeats, or
brief recurring patterns, take place at particular positions in all DNA sequences, variation occurring
due to the differing number of repeats from person to person (Dawid and Thomas). DNA profiles
select certain positions of the human genome and record the number of short tandem repeats that
appear there for each DNA sample being analyzed (which in a court case would be the suspect s
profile and the profile from the

The Importance Of The Duty Of Confidentiality
Introduction
The nature of the banker customer relationship is one of agency. Amongst the duties that stem from
this relationship, the bank s duty of confidentiality is clearly an issue of great importance. The focus of
this essay is on the scope and limitations of the bank s duty, both to its customers as to the public. In
order to analyse this it is necessary to firstly consider the idea of duty of confidentiality, Secondly, it is
necessary to study the Court of Appeal s judgement in the case of Tournier. Thirdly, this essay will
take the Jack Committee report into consideration. Lastly, this paper will briefly mention the Banking
Code, it will also discuss whether the principle in Tournier may be outdated and if so, whether it is in
need of a new crystallised self, clearly stating the limits and boundaries of the bank s duties both to the
customer and to the public itself in the form of a statute. To conclude this essay will consider the
future of the duty of confidentiality.

The Effects Of Homelessness On The City
Introduction As the winter approaches we are forced to remember the severity of homelessness in the
City. As of 2014, based on data provided by the Coalition for the Homeless, there are 59,246 people
sleeping in shelters. It costs the City $3,500 a month to house a homeless person, adding up to $856
million a year. There are thousands more who sleep on the streets, but due to lack of data we are not
sure of the exact number. Shelters only provide a temporary solution; on average a person is allowed
to stay in a shelter for a maximum of 180 days. How can that individual/family regain their self
sufficiency in a city where the rent is amongst the highest in the country, and affordable housing is
limited. Nearly half of all New York City residents pay more than 30 percent of their income on
housing. Median rents have risen 75 percent since 2000, at the same time, that median incomes have
declined, and between 1994 and 2012, the city lost 105,242 of rent regulated housing. To address this
problem, and restore these people sense of citizenship, we need a citywide reform of the housing
system.
Since housing conditions vary significantly from state to state, it is important for state and localities to
develop their own housing strategies. The two basic components that affect housing in New york,
which need to be addressed to reform the affordable housing system are 1) many families have

ROLE OF FINANCIAL MARKET AUTHORITY(FMA)
In this essay my aim is to discuss and compliment the various roles of financial market authority in
corporate business world. My research will depict that Financial market authority (FMA) has been
emerged as a financial regulatory authority which regulates and controls the capital market and the
financial services in New Zealand very effectively and efficiently. And it works on the financial risk
bearing factors and majorly contributes towards developing trustworthy, clear and well regulated
financials markets by executing various roles. In order to address the ever existing issues of divided
regulatory body, the ultimate aim of creation of FMA by the Government of New Zealand was to
replace security commission.
Further the Primary objective of creating new single operator was to unify the market administration
activities as the security commission faced many criticisms and faltered on the main function of
regulating the market in order to give stability to the financial sector and thus resulted in ceasing of
security commission. In 2011, when the financial markets authority act 2011 (FMC ACT) has been
sanctioned and came into action on 1 may 2011, certain changes were made and one of the most
important changes by this enactment is the introduction of new reinforced regulatory body. The FMA

Human Trafficking Is A Crime Against Humanity
I was brought here a few years ago, I lived in the streets at that time. A man took me to Daulatdia, the
biggest brothel in Bangladesh. He sold me to the owners, who kept me in a room and gave me drugs.
Then, a man suddenly came in and started taking off my clothes. I was so scared, I didn t understand
what was happening (Halima, 17). Halima was brought into the world of sex trafficking as a child and
now lives in a brothel in central Jessore, the last town before the border into India from Bangladesh.
Human trafficking is a crime against humanity and although all forms of slavery were completely
abolished in 1981, for the last 35 years on average 800,000 to 4 million people are exploited annually
(CNN.com). This phenomenon affects every country whether it be place of origin, transit or
destination; and it is more prominent in developing countries and eastern Asia. The United Nations
Refugee Agency claims that Bangladeshis made up 40 to 60 percent of the migrant traffic in 2015.
Human trafficking in Bangladesh exploits men, women and children into forced sexual acts and labor
and keeps victims in captivity. Human trafficking violates basic human rights such as the right to
freedom, equality, security, health and most importantly protection from slavery or servitude. The
absence of these basic human rights leads to anguish, a lost sense of security and a loss of identity

finding and retaining qualified candidates is crucial to an organization. Hiring a worker has a number

ending, and a person needs self confidence of their ability to write, in order to be a proficient writer.
Margaret Atwood also believes that multiple accounts of failure are important for any writer. A person
learns from their mistakes and the writer s voice comes out more authentic to who the person is due to
adversity. Writing is a selfish act. The first goal for writing is to better yourself, the writer who is
wrestling with their emotions, life and thoughts. Reading and writing are dependent on each other.
Writers are inspired by what they have read, and they think of their own lives and build upon their
influences. Every writer must read, in order to gain knowledge of what is inspirational for themselves
and others, You learn to write by reading and writing,, writing and reading. As a craft it s acquired
through the apprentice system, but you choose your own teachers. Sometimes they re alive, sometimes
they are dead, (Atwood, Pg.201). This statement is well

Fetus Removal Literature Review
Literature review
Bailey, citing Professor Ray Dolan of University College, London, writes in a meeting that feelings
impact our choices constantly . It is additionally concurred that the mental component of premature
birth can t be disregarded on the grounds that fetus removal is, without question, a critical life
occasion causing high mental worry at the time. Argent proposes that fetus removal may include
sentiments of blame, disgrace and lament. However others dissent, recommending that the experience
of abortion is sincerely kind in spite of affirmation in a similar article that fetus removal speaks to a
standout amongst the most argumentative political, social and good issues of the day .
The literature regarding this matter draws on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The writing encompassing this subject contains numerous predispositions. Some emerge from the
ideological perspectives or suspicions of the creators and some emerge as a result of poor strategy.
Some writing is one sided toward the desire for extreme negative responses of women who have
encountered fetus removal and a few writers are exceptionally incredulous of this. These creators
feature the improper speculation of conclusions from these examinations and propose they are of
constrained logical legitimacy and educate small concerning the experience of by far most of abortion
patients . There is considerably less recorded data with respect to the potential constructive outcomes
that fetus removal may convey to the women or the impacts on women when abortion is denied, a
special case being the paper by Dagg (1991). The writing has a tendency to recommend that ladies
who don t encounter trouble following premature birth may encounter more positive feelings, for
example, alleviation, fulfillment and a feeling of coming back to ordinariness. Post abortion feelings
differ incredibly amongst women, and

Genting expects an even stronger growth for the oil and gas division in the future from increased oil
production in Muturi (Indonesia) and China.
WEAKNESS
Weak performance of property and manufacturing divisions
Despite an increase of 7.7% in fiscal year 2006, the property division s revenues have been volatile
over the recent years. For the period 2003 2006, the division s CAGR was 6%, the lowest among all
the company s business divisions. Despite a 6% increase in revenues, the manufacturing division s
profit before tax declined 44% in fiscal 2006 over the previous year. Weak performance of these
divisions would affect the overall growth of the company.
Weak returns
Genting has recorded weak returns in the last few years. Its return on investments and return on equity
for trailing twelve months (TTM) December 2006 were 10.2% and 13.5%, respectively, lower than the
industry averages of 10.5% and 16.8% for the same period. Weak returns reflect the inability of the
management to deploy assets in profitable avenues, and this could result in decreasing investor
confidence.

Analysis Of The Movie Fried Green Tomatoes
My first impressions of the movie Fried Green Tomatoes was that it was a fluff and light movie. The
previews of the movie would lead one to believe that myself included. I was wrong. The first part of
the movie was set in 1930 s. This part of the movie addressed the issue of racism and ageism before
the time of the Civil Rights Movement. When the movie moves in to present day, the story covers the
struggles Evelyn is experiencing with menopause, or as it was sometime called; the change of life.
Fried Green Tomatoes is a story that bounces through generations of women and the people around
them. This is a classic story of Americana. The stories are used to weave a web to make a point and
draw people in to the events that shape the lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Towanda the Avenger . This is her avenging persona that rights the wrongs inflicted upon women
everywhere. When Ninny is first met by Evelyn, the first perception is that she is a senile old lady,
which is a typical view of ageism and the disregard society has of the elderly. This is typical of
ageism, systemic stereotyping of and discrimination against people because they are old (Touhey,
2016, p.66). Ninny s reminiscing cultivates a sense of security through recounting of comforting
memories (Touhey, 2016, p. 68). But as the time passes, Evelyn hears the stories of the strength of her
feminine predecessors gaining the strength to fight through the issues that plague her. Ninny gained a
friend and a sense of security while Evelyn gained self confidence. The value of relationships with
other females begins to increase as they usually live longer than the men in their life. She has lived a
very rich life, but she lacks the monetary means to take care of herself. She is dependent upon others

A Model Of Governance Through Capitalistic Ideals
Want to know a little known fact? Local government is one of the most influential factors in the
American way of life, but it is not even mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. Essentially the
Constitution set up national and state governments but leaves local governments out creating a gray
area. This area has been filled with many different methods and types of government. One of the ideas
which pertains to filling this gray area is the Tiebout model. In essence this is a model of governance
through capitalistic ideals. In the Tiebout model cities and metros are divided up into micro
jurisdiction entice or deter specific citizens based on the jurisdicition s services and taxes. This train of
thought assumes things about the people who live in these cities. These assumptions, applied to a
simple majority, would surely ensure this methods success, but it may not be feasible. Because many
dislike the Tiebout method revision can be made and there are numerous alternatives also.
In order for the Tiebout model to be successful, at least two assumptions must be made about citizens.
The first assumption that must be made is that the average, or at least the majority, of citizens are both
informed and motived to stay up to date on policies. Each citizens would need to commit to enough
different news sources to understand local politics and its entirety. This applies to obvious things like
watching tax changes in their local government, as well as other areas. It also entail

Abortion Debate
Your Opinions Ends Where My Choice Begins
In the past years, abortion has been one of the biggest topics of discussion. Many people of different
backgrounds views abortion or expulsion of a fetus to be murder. Why should anyone who has not
faced this decision voice their opinion on a situation that does not affect them? A woman is entitled to
make her own decisions regarding to her body. Abortion should be justified because it is her body, she
has to live with the outcome, and she might not be mentally or emotionally stable to care for a child.
What if it was you, your wife, mother, daughter, sister, or a woman that is very important to you
having to face this? Would you be Pro Life then? Every human being is in charge of their body;
therefore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are reasons for this being. One example is a woman who is pregnant before prison might choose
abortion because it would be emotional for her to give it to DHS or to someone of next kin but not
trustworthy. She would be emotional knowing that she is not in her child life, that her child might not
be protected, or that a child will grow up struggling and might end up in prison just like her. Another
example could be a woman who is not mentally stable to carry a child and feels her child life would be
at the danger if she was to bring him or her into the world. Can you see abortion as an option if means

Sun Wars Poem
I was just having a normal day when the sun god came to visit us! Well, I guess who we thought was
the sun god. We welcome him and dressed him in religious robes and gave him a cup of our people s
blood, but he went all crazy. Him and others started blasting us with booms and loud noises. They left
and later sent a message of peace. We didn t know if we could trust them because they allied with our
enemy, but we decided to leave it. We met again and offered them gold, hoping to make them leave.
They didn t leave! We met and made peace. We welcomed them like honored guests and let them stay
in one of our palaces. That was a mistake. The leader of the white men, Hernan, put our king under
arrest! Then, there was a formal transfer of power! Oh

Bullying In America Essay
More than obesity and health care is wrong with America. Not only does the health care system warp
people s mind, but it creates an issue with the way children are taught and how they learn. A large
stance has already changed many people s lives bullying. Children bully for many reasons including
sexual orientation, weight, religious/philosophical beliefs, and some reasons unknown to all. Children
bullied for their weight often times feel insecure and worthless about their bodies scaring them in the
process of always wanting to be in the same physical state and leading more obese children to lead
obese adult lives. The problem of unhealthy children in America isn t just blamed on obesity it s
bullying. The amount of children who have committed suicide over bullying is too high. Tyler Long, a
student in Murray Count Georgia, committed suicide from buying in 2009 (Dubreuil McNiff, 2010).

One place to start is music. Artist Jessie J says, Tears don t mean you re losing, everybody s bruising,
Just be true to who you are (Jessie J, 2011). The song represents that everyone is going through
something, even if it doesn t seem like it. However, the problem lies within the kids who are not
getting the help they need. A popularized book in pop culture named Nineteen Minutes was taken
from the curriculum on year because it violated the school s rights for the children. What the school
needs to teach children may be inappropriate but it must be done in order to save many lives are going
to be following in the halls. The book has many narrators but one speaks out the most the one who
committed the school shooting. The book was taken away from the curriculum in the 2013 2014
school year at Civic Memorial High School due to its controversial nature. A quote from the book

Assisted Suicide Speech
Some people think that assisted suicide should be legal and some people think it should not be legal.
This issue is serious because if the Supreme Court does change the law and make it legal then people
will use assisted suicide as an excuse to get help in ending their lives. Our views as a society have not
changed because we still think killing someone is murder and when someone is killed we think that
person should be put in jail. So if society thinks people should not commit murder then what is the
difference between murder and assisted suicide? There isn t one. Yes when someone requests assisted
suicide they want to their lives to end but that should not give us the right to go around and kill anyone
who wants to die. Committing murder ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If Canadians know that it is against the law to assist in someone s suicide why do they do it anyway?
If the law is changed then more people will go and assist someone in killing themselves. If a person
wants to kill themselves then they are obviously in a bad state of mind. Section 7 of the Charter is
supposed to make everyone feel secure. So instead of letting that person commit suicide we should
protect that person and get that person help, whether it be getting them some sort of therapy or getting
that person medication to keep them feeling better for that period of time. Many Canadians are
charged for helping someone ill or someone they love die. Marielle Houlle, for example, is a lady that
was sentenced to get three years probation by a Quebec court in 2004 because she helped her 36 year
old son, who was in pain from multiple sclerosis, end his life (CBC, 2014). Another one of my
concerns with assisted suicide is that some people might use it as a cover up for killing another person.
If a person shoots someone and ends another their life that person can serve up to 14 years in prison.
Yet this lady only gets 3 years probation for ending her sons life. This was a controversial decision as
it was not considered fair by many people. The law should just stay the same and anyone who kills
someone else should get an appropriate

Simpson CPA, CGMA March 1, 2015 Abstract This paper provides a brief presentation of Activity Based Costing methodology, how is used as well as its short comings. Activity Based Costing Activity based costing (ABC) methodology is an instrument designed to provide accountants and managers with valuable costing information that will allow them to make sound strategic decisions. It is used as a secondary methodology rather than a replacement for the company s primarily costing system. The ABC methodology identifies activities in an organization and for each activity it assigns a cost. The cost reflects the actual resource consumption by each activity that has been identified. Under a traditional system, overhead cost is allocated to an activity based on hours or rates for direct labor or machine usage. However, this approach does not clearly indicate how much overhead cost will be needed in order to complete a job through a particular function. ABC methodology is to be used as an alternative to traditional accounting where a business s overhead costs (indirect costs such as electrical energy consumption for heating or cooling, or indirect cost associated with marketing) are allocated as a proportion of direct costs, to an activity. This approach is unsatisfactory because there can be cases where two activities could absorb the same direct costs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Family Themes In David Copperfield We are going to focus on the book David Copperfield out of all that concern the theme of family and parenting issues, although Dickens s work is known for the transition from childhood to adulthood theme, we can draw some scenes with the family theme and another theme that wasn t really a matter in the time when Dickens wrote, the adoption which was added later in the Victorian time. Charles Dickens also targeted the father figure in his works, how he was viewed and how children dealt with the absent of a father figure. Parents are important for the right upbringing of a child, their support and their care shape the child in what it would be in the future; the way parents behave and talk, their temperament also has an influence in the upbringing due to the fact that children copy what their parents do most of the times and a bad influence in going to take them on the wrong path when they grown up. Hills Like White Elephants, By Ernest Hemmingway In the story Hills Like White Elephants, Ernest Hemmingway allows a superficial plot to symbolically display a conflict between choice of destination as a couple s discussion between train rides. The layers of description and dialog manipulate a small moment of time and demonstrate that a human choice can range while perspective shifts the understood potential of the landscape. By crafting an intricate story that is filled with symbolism and overlapping complexities, Hemmingway provides a sophisticated short story that exposes the feelings behind controversial life choices. The story begins by introducing the side of the valley with no shade and no trees, a forty minute wait time, and the couple in Spain. The two are described at first as an American and a ... Only during the last ten thousand years have humans existed in civilizations, with a multitude of differing forms that underwent development patterns often as a result of interaction with foreign societies. Because humans have existed in a wide variety of structural contexts, it becomes exceedingly difficult to derive universal human attributes that can be used to produce a theorem of human nature. The difficulty lies in that the varying forms of human socialization and institutions profoundly influence the value systems of the societal occupants. Even though accepting the Advaita Vedanta means that there is no classification of male or female amongst people, it still sets a barrier for women because according to the Dharmasharstras, women were unfit to learn Vedic rituals and studies which are key requirements of sannyasa (Khandelwal 2004: 37). Herein lies the most significant deviation from the classical perspective of renunciation in modernity; most contemporary female renouncers, also referred to as sannyasinis, have broken out of a tradition that is characterized by the renunciation of rituals. They therefore have effectively redefined renunciation on their own terms. Like most classical renouncers, sannyasinis also build vairgya and have completely detachment from worldly materials. But unlike the classical renunciation where a renouncer would go off to the forest and be by himself, the modern day female renouncers have become more involved in social activism (Khandelwal 2004: 49). This is a clear alteration from the classical renouncer because now the female renouncers are participating in a form of actions which is still continue their cycle of karma, whereas the end goal is to stop exactly that according to the classical practices. In Khandelwal s book Women in Ochre Robes, she uses various examples of how different women are using types of social activism throughout their practices. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most important ceremony that was celebrated is the event Nowruz . Nowruz meaning new day, was the name of the Iranian New Year. This ceremony created a majestic atmosphere for the Persians. This event celebrated the first day of spring or Equinox at the beginning of the year in the Persian calendar. Nowruz is about the only tradition to not resolve around a religious group. The establishment of Persepolis gave the Persians the opportunity to celebrate as a whole. The second reason that highlighted the importance of the establishment of Persepolis was the trade. An example of trade in Persepolis included darius revolutionising it by placing it on a silver and gold coinage system and the popular trade items included orange, Shaw and turquoise. By establishing Persepolis it enhanced trade in the Achaemenid Empire. The final reason that highlights the importance of the establishment of Persepolis was their success in battle. Darius and xerxes were highly successful in battle and there are still structures that depict the sister countries giving the kings gifts. The underlying central argument of the debate is whether the morality requires a religious foundation or not. While the voluntarists claim that morality does require a religious foundation, non voluntarists assert that it doesn t. David Brink and George Mavrodes argues with this theme of voluntarist and non voluntarist. My essay will largely focus on the strengths and weakness of both voluntarists and non voluntarists associating with Mavrodes and Brink s idea on this issue. Voluntarists are the people who insist that it is the will or the attitude of god that determines morality and its qualities, while the non voluntarists argue that moral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What Brink argues is that if the natural properties of a situation determine its moral properties, then its moral properties can t depend on god s will. He further states that if voluntarism were true, then two situations could have different moral properties even if there were no natural differences between them, i.e. , if god s attitudes to the two tokens of the same type were different, one system could be unjust, but an absolute same one of that system don t have to be unjust. Therefore, the second argument against to the voluntarism is that voluntarism implies a rejection of supervenience of the moral properties of natural ones, which rejecting supervenience is counterintuitive and thus voluntarism has a counterintuitive implication. The third opposition is a substantive claim argument. This argument explains that if the god merely selects whatever he or she wants to be good or right, then when people say God is good , this notion becomes trivial and non substantive. This argument implies that if voluntarism is true, then praise of god as good or right wouldn t be meaningful. For example, we can pick our own grades for the work we had done but don t consider their quality which are independent of our choice of grade. It would genuinely not count as substantive praise if one person says to another you got an A. You did very well . On the contrary, there are also arguments against non voluntarism. To begin ... The floods triggered the breakup of Pangea, the original continent. This volcanic eruption created extreme global warming and the extinction of 70% of marine life. • 29. Analyzing Dna Matches From Identical Twins And Other... Each person s genome apart from identical twins or other multiple births is distinct because of variations in allele frequencies which cause chromosomes to have certain genotypes. This indicates that when the DNA found at a crime location matches a person s, the individual is the culprit of the crime; however, finalizing a case is not this elementary. The evidence collected from a scene does not show the person s entire genome. While it can certainly point to suspects whose DNA matches the samples collected from the scene, it does not secure a definite criminal. Analyzing DNA requires understanding of a few complex fundamentals, but probability paired with statistical reasoning provides for a more accurate approach in assessing DNA matches. Humans each have 23 pairs of chromosomes that have similar sequences since they are analogous in gene chronology. They are not identical, though, because one chromosome is composed of alleles of a gene from one parent, and one chromosome is composed of alleles from the other (Dawid and Thomas). Short tandem repeats, or brief recurring patterns, take place at particular positions in all DNA sequences, variation occurring due to the differing number of repeats from person to person (Dawid and Thomas). DNA profiles select certain positions of the human genome and record the number of short tandem repeats that appear there for each DNA sample being analyzed (which in a court case would be the suspect s profile and the profile from the ... Further the Primary objective of creating new single operator was to unify the market administration activities as the security commission faced many criticisms and faltered on the main function of regulating the market in order to give stability to the financial sector and thus resulted in ceasing of security commission. In 2011, when the financial markets authority act 2011 (FMC ACT) has been sanctioned and came into action on 1 may 2011, certain changes were made and one of the most important changes by this enactment is the introduction of new reinforced regulatory body. • 46. Analysis Of The Movie Fried Green Tomatoes My first impressions of the movie Fried Green Tomatoes was that it was a fluff and light movie. The previews of the movie would lead one to believe that myself included. I was wrong. The first part of the movie was set in 1930 s. This part of the movie addressed the issue of racism and ageism before the time of the Civil Rights Movement. When the movie moves in to present day, the story covers the struggles Evelyn is experiencing with menopause, or as it was sometime called; the change of life. Fried Green Tomatoes is a story that bounces through generations of women and the people around them. This is a classic story of Americana. This is her avenging persona that rights the wrongs inflicted upon women everywhere. When Ninny is first met by Evelyn, the first perception is that she is a senile old lady, which is a typical view of ageism and the disregard society has of the elderly. This is typical of ageism, systemic stereotyping of and discrimination against people because they are old (Touhey, 2016, p.66). Ninny s reminiscing cultivates a sense of security through recounting of comforting memories (Touhey, 2016, p. 68). But as the time passes, Evelyn hears the stories of the strength of her feminine predecessors gaining the strength to fight through the issues that plague her. • 47. A Model Of Governance Through Capitalistic Ideals Want to know a little known fact? Local government is one of the most influential factors in the American way of life, but it is not even mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. Essentially the Constitution set up national and state governments but leaves local governments out creating a gray area. This area has been filled with many different methods and types of government. One of the ideas which pertains to filling this gray area is the Tiebout model. In essence this is a model of governance through capitalistic ideals. In the Tiebout model cities and metros are divided up into micro jurisdiction entice or deter specific citizens based on the jurisdicition s services and taxes. This train of thought assumes things about the people who live in these cities. These assumptions, applied to a simple majority, would surely ensure this methods success, but it may not be feasible. Because many dislike the Tiebout method revision can be made and there are numerous alternatives also. In order for the Tiebout model to be successful, at least two assumptions must be made about citizens. The first assumption that must be made is that the average, or at least the majority, of citizens are both informed and motived to stay up to date on policies. Each citizens would need to commit to enough different news sources to understand local politics and its entirety. This applies to obvious things like watching tax changes in their local government, as well as other areas. It also entail ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Abortion Debate Your Opinions Ends Where My Choice Begins In the past years, abortion has been one of the biggest topics of discussion. Many people of different backgrounds views abortion or expulsion of a fetus to be murder. Why should anyone who has not faced this decision voice their opinion on a situation that does not affect them? A woman is entitled to make her own decisions regarding to her body. Abortion should be justified because it is her body, she has to live with the outcome, and she might not be mentally or emotionally stable to care for a child. One example is a woman who is pregnant before prison might choose abortion because it would be emotional for her to give it to DHS or to someone of next kin but not trustworthy. She would be emotional knowing that she is not in her child life, that her child might not be protected, or that a child will grow up struggling and might end up in prison just like her. Another example could be a woman who is not mentally stable to carry a child and feels her child life would be at the danger if she was to bring him or her into the world. • 49. Sun Wars Poem I was just having a normal day when the sun god came to visit us! Well, I guess who we thought was the sun god. We welcome him and dressed him in religious robes and gave him a cup of our people s blood, but he went all crazy. Him and others started blasting us with booms and loud noises. They left and later sent a message of peace. We didn t know if we could trust them because they allied with our enemy, but we decided to leave it. We met again and offered them gold, hoping to make them leave. They didn t leave! We met and made peace. We welcomed them like honored guests and let them stay in one of our palaces. That was a mistake. The leader of the white men, Hernan, put our king under arrest! Then, there was a formal transfer of power! Oh ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. Bullying In America Essay More than obesity and health care is wrong with America. Not only does the health care system warp people s mind, but it creates an issue with the way children are taught and how they learn. A large stance has already changed many people s lives bullying. Children bully for many reasons including sexual orientation, weight, religious/philosophical beliefs, and some reasons unknown to all. Children bullied for their weight often times feel insecure and worthless about their bodies scaring them in the process of always wanting to be in the same physical state and leading more obese children to lead obese adult lives. The problem of unhealthy children in America isn t just blamed on obesity it s bullying. The amount of children who have committed suicide over bullying is too high. Tyler Long, a student in Murray Count Georgia, committed suicide from buying in 2009 (Dubreuil McNiff, 2010). No action was done by school authorities when the parents approached them, and parents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One place to start is music. • 51. Assisted Suicide Speech Some people think that assisted suicide should be legal and some people think it should not be legal. This issue is serious because if the Supreme Court does change the law and make it legal then people will use assisted suicide as an excuse to get help in ending their lives. Our views as a society have not changed because we still think killing someone is murder and when someone is killed we think that person should be put in jail. So if society thinks people should not commit murder then what is the difference between murder and assisted suicide? There isn t one. Yes when someone requests assisted suicide they want to their lives to end but that should not give us the right to go around and kill anyone who wants to die. Committing murder ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If Canadians know that it is against the law to assist in someone s suicide why do they do it anyway? If the law is changed then more people will go and assist someone in killing themselves. If a person wants to kill themselves then they are obviously in a bad state of mind. Section 7 of the Charter is supposed to make everyone feel secure. So instead of letting that person commit suicide we should protect that person and get that person help, whether it be getting them some sort of therapy or getting that person medication to keep them feeling better for that period of time. Many Canadians are charged for helping someone ill or someone they love die. Marielle Houlle, for example, is a lady that was sentenced to get three years probation by a Quebec court in 2004 because she helped her 36 year old son, who was in pain from multiple sclerosis, end his life (CBC, 2014). Another one of my concerns with assisted suicide is that some people might use it as a cover up for killing another person. If a person shoots someone and ends another their life that person can serve up to 14 years in prison. Yet this lady only gets 3 years probation for ending her sons life. This was a controversial decision as it was not considered fair by many people. The law should just stay the same and anyone who kills someone else should get an appropriate ...
