All humans have some type of understanding of what good will is, as it is a reason or a determination
of the proper thing to do at the right time or period. Rather than the human reaction to try and satisfy
or make oneself happy, humans would be and should be more naturally inclined to make possible
good will and being good which this will bring about unintentional happiness or satisfaction. Then
Kant going on to explain that by using reason in a situation, humans would not be able to attain good

Problems Within Epistemology A New Approach Essay
Fred Dretske (2005) rejects the claim that closure holds over known entailment. Dretske argues that
propositions, P, have heavyweight implications, Q, which cannot be known by the same reasons that P
is known by; and that if Closure holds this leads to scepticism. However, Dretske argues that we can
rule out closure by acknowledging that relevant alternatives for P are distinct and separate from those
for Q. Thus closure fails and scepticism is avoided. Intuitively I find myself agreeing with Dretske,
but think that this intuition itself is part of the larger problem within epistemology. Using ideas from
Nagel et al, I contend that the analytic approach to the problems of closure and knowledge itself is
potentially limited; that gaps between thought modes can explain cases of apparent loss of knowledge
as exposed by Dretske. Moreover, that if we want to further success regarding problems within
epistemology a new approach may be needed. I suggest we look toward the rational sciences, and
towards a form of experimental epistemology.

we can thereby deduce and know what is subsequent to it, its implications, are true also. If this is the
case, knowledge would appear to be closed under known entailment, otherwise known as the Closure

I did this because; the theories are exemplified in both interactions. For my familiar relationship, I
chose my roommate, who has also been my friend for four years. After I logged and reflected on our
conversations, I noticed I was reviewing the conversations as either a negative or a positive, thus

Smoking traditional cigarettes causes various adverse health effects; however, the causes of smoking
electronic cigarettes remains unknown. The proposal presents a study that will measure fundamental
frequency. Approximately eighty University of Central Florida students who are non smokers, ages 18
to 24 years old, will smoke an electronic cigarette. Each student will be measured on fundamental
frequency before and after an electronic cigarette smoking session. It is predicated that a non smokers
use of an electronic cigarette will immediately produce a reduction in fundamental frequency, which
may serve as a precursor to signal future medical pathologies similar to that of traditional cigarettes.
The comparisons of pre versus post smoke sessions for vocal fold vibration will be analyzed based on
the fundamental frequency scoring. The demographic variable, gender, may also impact fundamental
frequency results, and will too be analyzed. The proposal provides an overview of the literature and
specific methodological strategies for implementing the research. Expected outcomes and future
research will be discussed.
