The Influence Of The Flood In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
Some people and historians have claimed that the biblical story of the flood and Noah
s ark was influenced by the flood of Gilgamesh. The flood of Gilgamesh and the
Biblical story of the flood in Genesis showed similar characteristics, but the Biblical
flood was not influenced by ancient readings in the Epic of Gilgamesh. Noah s ark was
influenced by God in the Bible, compared to the flood in the Epic of Gilgamesh where
it is written on clay tablets influenced by many gods and goddesses. The biblical flood
is taught today as a place in religion throughout Christian teaching, where the Epic of
Gilgamesh is based off stories found in the 18th Century in an ancient library called
Nineveh (Lorey). Despite the two accounts being so similar in context, there are some
differences as well confirming the clear distinction between the two. The flood in
Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh with its account of a universal flood, had significant parallels to
the Flood of Noah s day. The rest of the Epic, which dates back to possibly third... Show

In both of the passages they expressed similarities with the flood occurring in the
Mesopotamian plain, the main character being warned to build a boat to escape the
flood, the main character is told to save himself, his family, and a sampling of animals,
the fact that the boats were sealed with tar, the boats came to rest on a mountain, birds
were released to determine if the waters receded, and the main character sacrificing an
offering. (Deem) The two writings of the floods come in close comparison in many ways
but soon will show much difference
Case Study Of A Low-Income Client
p. 68
1.) As much as I would want to help a low income client who is struggling to pay for
the counseling services, if the money was not available, I am not so sure I could help
them. I would strongly empathize with that individual and would struggle to accept that I
am turning down a person. It would also be difficult for me to have that conversation
with the client. However, I want to be a person who is fair to all of my clients. If I was
the social worker in case 2.34, I would not feel right taking the client s artwork for
counseling services. If another client asked me where I got the painting, I would appear
to have a closer relationship, and possibly even more of a friend relationship than a
professional client relationship. I would not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would wonder what has made her life so miserable. Clearly the fact that she was
physically and sexually abused would contribute to this, but I would assure her that I
would be willing to work with her and process these things. I would want to give her a
sense of hope, knowing that she should have a long life ahead of her. I should utilize
my faith in explaining to her the purpose of life. In regards to whether or not she
should be able to make this choice, I would look into the informed consent, being this
girl is only 16 years old. This might be a situation in which the parents have the
ultimate decision of whether or not the young girl will receive treatment. If the
parents forced her to receive treatment, I would walk alongside her in the journey and
help her process what is happening and hopefully I would help her find meaning in
her life. I am not sure if I think the girl has the right to refuse medical care. She is only
16, so I would not want to watch her refuse the care she needs. In addition, she is not yet
an adult, however, she is still her own
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ict In The Philippines
Advances in technology have had a tremendous impact on society. The Philippines is one
those developing country in Asia that seeks to uplift the technology advancement of the
nation since ICT is considered a valuable tool that can be used for the economic
development of the country. And in a region where other countries are already ahead in
using ICT to their benefit, we are still struggling to make effective used of it. One of the
advantages mentioned is that the development of ICT in the Philippines makes
communication faster, reliable and efficient. Shinn (2001) noted that some Internetsearch
engines can search 1.3 billion unique web addresses, search the equivalent of a 70 mile
high stack of paper, or locate 14 million web pages about learning in less than one
second. It can make research works easier through the advancement of dependable
internet connectivity where access to needed information and data are just a mouse click
away. It also helps commerce and trade through on line transaction. By which purchases

Take a look in their ICT Mission and Vision as well as their Roadmap, they showed
how our ICT programs lag behind from these countries. It takes a private entity like
Business Processing Association of the Philippines to draft and formulate ICT Roadmap
for our country relegating our government supporting role. There were a lot of internet
related crimes committed in the net like launching malwares, spy wares and virus yet
suspected individual got scot free since no provision law can be cited to convict them
for the crime they committed. Hacking is also a big challenge to network security
experts as hackers also uses advanced technologies
Software Development Is No Easy Task
Software development is no easy task. There are many ways to plan and execute the
development of a software application. The biggest problem facing developers is to
figure out which processes will work best for them. There are many things a developer
needs ask themselves when planning a product. Requirements gathering has many ways
to be accomplished, but which is the best? Should a waterfall style of development be
used, or does agile offer more important features? Would it save time to develop in a test
driven environment? What is the most accurate way to estimate the time needed to
complete the project? Is there an architecture that would be more efficient for this
product? How can the documentation be kept up to pace with the code?... Show more

This means that trying to interpret someone else s wants and needs can result in a
different interpretation by the developer, resulting in features that were not properly
developed. This process can also often be hindered by the fact that customers do not
actually know what they want, and are unaware of what would actually best fulfill their
needs. There are ways in which these miscommunications and customer misnomers can
be combatted. One way is to interview the client and take notes on what they need their
software to do. Often these notes can be much different than what the client actually tells
you they need. Another way to get requirements is by observation. Observing a client do
their job and navigate current software can often tell you much more than the client
themselves. This process can also help during the design process as you can see what
function are used the most frequent and should be at the top of the design backlog.
Although there are many more way to gather requirements, these types of requirements
gathering that require customer interaction tend to produce the best results. Waterfall vs.
Agile When developing a software product there are two different project management
approaches that can be taken: waterfall or agile. Both waterfall and agile have their
advantages and disadvantages but agile has become the more popular of the two, due to
its ease of change during the devolvement process. Waterfall development is constructed
with a step by step
The Theme Of Loneliness In Jane Eyre
Jane #8217;s childhood and upbringing at Gateshead is a crucial part of Bront #235;
#8217;s novel. Her upbringing ignited this hunger in Jane, due to her exclusion from
her cousins and the overwhelming atmosphere of hatred from her aunt Mrs Reed. The
first time the reader is introduced to Jane and the Reeds she is shut out in the cold
from the rest of the family. Who are sitting together by the lit fireplace while she sits

Jane is a rather submissive girl in public, only ever letting her rage out at several
pivotal points during the text, one of which being when she decided to fight back
against John. He had been delivering his punishment on her for reading a book that
didn #8217;t belong to her, it is then we are made aware by Jane that she usually
accepts the punishment quietly. Though, after John throws the book she was reading
at the back of her head, making her fall forward and cut her forehead she snaps.

Hockey Research Paper
This research paper is going to discuss facts about hockey and rules of hockey and the
history of hockey.
NHL Hockey and Olympic hockey are very different due to each league having their
own style of play. In Olympic hockey Fighting is frowned upon, those who fight
receive a penalty match, and will be ejected from the game. In the NHL fighting, is
what most fans come to watch fighting allowed and after the fight is over all players
involved in the scuffle will be penalized and put into the penalty box? The penalty box
is where players have to sit after a fight and other behavior infractions for a certain
amount of time.
Tied games in the Olympics is followed by ten minutes of sudden death, in the NHL, the
game stays in the extra period ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of the rosters of the twelve teams have at least one NHL player on its roster.
However, the NHL is thinking about not letting its players play in the Olympics because
it cuts into the season, and there is a risk of getting there star players injured.
When Team USA beat the Soviet in 1980 it was important for the US hockey world
because that team was seeded seventh entering the game against the Soviet Union.
During the 1980 Olympic run the average was 22 and all the players were that year
were both amateur and college players and the Soviet s team was mainly professional
and experienced players. This win gave coach Herb Brooks a place in history because
he did something no other USA coach has done for the last twenty years and that is beat
Russia, and he was named sportsman of the year in 1990.
In the Olympics for Hockey, they take the helmet and protecting the face rule very
serious. During warm ups, it has been required that all players wear helmets. If a
player is not wearing his helmet correctly during the game, the game will be stopped
and the player is penalized. The NHL is a little bit easier on players, it s not required
like in the Olympics where players have to wear a helmet during pre game and if your
helmet comes off in the during NHL play the game continues.

Portraying the sublime evolved as industrialization speed up manufacturing. Adams
aimed for a wider audience, as he believed only when the public sees the beauty of the
wilderness would they understand why conservation mattered. Adams understood the
photographer could play a vital role, rousing awareness and inciting action. He saw this
as his personal mission (Spaulding, 1995, pp. 217 218). This was evident in Adams
iconic partnership with Nancy Newhall and in their book, This Is the American Earth

In 1963, Porter shared his trip down the Colorado River to capture what would be lost if
technological hubris prevailed. The Place No One Knew portrayed fragments of the
canyon rather than broad sweeping scenic landscapes. Many criticized the book for too
many close up and abstract images that contrasted light and dark features of the canyon
even though it did convey the hidden beauty of the canyon. Although costly, $25, The
Place No One Knew was a large format book with color images and elegant craftsmanship
of typographer and lithographer. One reviewer commented, the book needed to be so
large and to contain such high quality prints and exquisite typography. By buying the
book, particularly given its expensive price, Americans could gain atonement; through
consumption, they could help pay for the sins of the nation (Dunaway, 2005, p. 181).
Critics claimed Porter s photos demonstrated a duality between portraying the aesthetics
of nature with scientific understanding for what is at stake. The Sierra Club continued
work to protect the Colorado River along with advocating protection for other natural
resources. They published more books communicating the struggles between progress
and protection and this style of photography, I argue, lives on in contemporary works

Q.1) Compute the following quantities for the current production process as well as for
Mike s and Ike s plans, assuming the plans are implemented as described in the case.
Solution:
Current batch processing
Sales for the Executive Shirt Company are constituted of only a few basic styles and
colours. Hence the company has a limited number of varieties to produce. So, it has
large batches of each kind of shirt (size and color).
It has only one cutting machine, which is computer controlled and can cut up to 60
layers of cloth at the same time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cycle time / shirt = 30 / 60 = 0.5 min / shirt.
The work in process inventory = Total number of batches in all operations * Batch size
= (16 + 144 + 12 + 12 + 12) * 60
= 196 * 60 = 11760 shirts
Now we can apply Little s Law to calculate the throughput time which is equal to the
manufacturing lead time in this case.
By Little s Law,
Throughput time = Work in process / Throughput rate = Work in process * Cycle time
= 11760 * 0.5
= 5880 minutes
Since production goes on for 8 hrs per day, manufacturing lead time = 5880 / (8 * 60)
= 12.25 days
Total number of shirts produced per month is 16,000. The company works for 20 days a
month.
So, the output per day = 16000 / 20 = 800 shirts.
In, 8 hours a day, the company can produce 60 * 8 * (1/0.5) = 960 shirts, which is the
current production capacity. But it needs to produce only 800 shirts.
So, the capacity utilization = (800 / 960) * 100 = 83.33%
The actual labor utilized = Number of shirts produced * Direct labor content
= 800 * 25.76
= 20608 minutes
The available labor for utilization = Total number of workers * Hours per day *
Family Medicine And Family Practice
There are many misunderstandings where people mistakenly think that family medicine
and family practice are the same thing, but they are undoubtedly wrong. According to
Brown, family medicine is the academic discipline, composed of knowledge, skills and
attitudes. Family practice is the application of that knowledge in a system of medical
care (Brown, 1979). Dr. Lynn Carmichael also stated that, an important component in the
definition of the family physicianis that he has a tenured relationship in which the doctor
and the family members have mutually agreed upon obligations. No other physician has
this unwritten contract with patients of all ages and with the whole family (Brown,
1979). In other words, family practice consists of family medicine, but family medicine
does not consists of family practice. This is what makes family physicians unique from
other physicians. They have their own bond with the patients without having to having to
have some kind of written contract. It gives the patients time to understand and get to
know the physician and have an actual conversation. Whereas for other physicians there
is a tendency where the physician is having a one way conversation where the physician
is only talking to the patient and the patient is just listening. Family physicians are
distinctively educated to care for you as a whole person, apart from age or sex. They
diagnose and treat critical and chronic diseases and illnesses and provide patients with

the development of skills and behaviors in order to be successful in motivating, leading,

In terms of becoming a mediator and consensus builder the authors detailed the need for
principals to possess relational leadership skills in order to be able to both facilitate
groups and coach others on staff in the ability to facilitate their own groups, and stressed
that the key to this is the ability to effectively participate in conflict resolution
(Donaldson, Marnik, Mackenzie, Ackerman, 2009). The authors suggested that conflict
is part and parcel of school reform and that in addition to being able to deal effectively
with conflict the successful principal needs to develop the ability for bringing about
consensus within the group, noting that interpersonal and intrapersonal skills were as
much or more important than knowledge (Donaldson, Marnik, Mackenzie, Ackerman,
2009). In the area of relationships it was noted that principals that are most effective are
those that place high value on people and relationships and that when this exists as a core
part of the belief system of the principal it is noticeable and is communicated to staff in
both subtle and explicit ways (Donaldson, Marnik, Mackenzie, Ackerman, 2009).
According to the authors this sense of value comes through in all of the dealings that the
principal has with stakeholders (Donaldson, Marnik, Mackenzie, Ackerman, 2009). It
shows in body language, expression, communication, tone and innumerable other subtle

recommended by professionals that as a beginner you must start from the 5 lbs and then
later you can definitely upgrade to as much more as you want.
Weight plates: There are different types of gym weight plates and bars varying from
Olympic bar to EZ curling bar. Weight plates similar to dumbbells range from 2.5 lbs
to 100 lbs. they are usually made from iron, however, many home gyms have plastic
weight plates. Most of the people are familiar with York plastic barbell set. This is

Touch analysis
Touch Football was only formalized in the 1970 s and is now played in all of
Australia. Coaches of Rugby teams used variations of for offseason activities. The game
came to be known as Touch Rugby/Football, now simply known as touch. The main
differences in the rules of the game of touch and rugby league is that there is no tackling
you have to touch the attacking player instead, kicking is not allowed, the dummy half
cannot get touched and the ball is not allowed to drop to the ground.
In the game of touch there are three positions and two players at each position on the
field, the positions are middle, link and wing. The main roles for the middle are to
ruck/drive the ball down the field in attack and to close down the defence. The
predominant energy system used at a professional level is the lactic acid system but as
they are subbed off regularly and at a senior high school level we do not have the luxury
of enough players to sub on the energy system used changes to the aerobic system.
Knowledge of rucking patterns and organisation helps make a great middle.
The key roles in the position of link are to set up tries for the wing position and
controlling the defensive and offensive line. The focal energy system used by the link
position is the lactic acid system. The ability to find gaps in the defence separates good
links from great ones.
Lastly, the wing position, finishes off the set plays by scoring

Evaluation Of Honey, I Warped The Kids
Evaluation of Honey, I Warped the Kids
By Hung V. Tran Carl M. Cannon reasons in Honey, I Warped the Kids in the Utne
Reader that violence on television must be suppressed due to its effects on human
behavior. This evaluation will show that though the author makes some good use of
statistical findings, he leaves many holes in his argument by not thoroughly discussing
opposing opinions. Cannon systematically lists the studies and opinions of others who
agree with him and does not discuss opposing positions. In content, first Cannon
discusses the sociological interest in the subject of television violence and mentions that
the first congressional hearings took place in 1954 (95). He follows that with a list of

For the past 22 years, says Cannon, they found, adults and children have been
entertained by about sixteen violent acts, including two murders, in each evening s
prime time programming (96). The statistics in the NBC study, which are touted by
well meaning critics, contradict themselves. The study claims on the one hand that
violence desensitizes children; on the other, that it also incites more violence. In spite
of this ambivalent evidence, Cannon s research is deliberate and narrow minded in
intention, using only what he needs to support his own point of view and ignoring the
NBC evidence. In point of fact, it is arguable that images do not spill blood, but rather
rage, desperation, and revenge, especially when they are equipped with guns. According
to Todd Gitlin, there were 36,000 murders, accidents, and suicides committed by
gunshots in the United States in 1992 alone (93). Honey, I Warped the Kids seems at
first to be a reasonable article. While one reads this article one may be convinced,
thinking that statistics alone can decide the fate of their children. However, if an
opposing viewpoint had been better represented, the casual reader may not have come to
the same conclusion as Cannon.
Someone who disagrees with the article Honey, I Warped the Kids may find Cannon s
position quite troubling. Gitlin says, It s dark out there in the
Importance Of Education In Athol Fugard s Tsotsi
Education can make or break someone s path of life and families can be split apart for
several reasons, for example, prison, war, divorce, etc. Tsotsi takes place in Sophiatown,
South Africa during December of 1960. During this time, many families were struggling
to stay in contact and it was rare that people had a high level of education. In the novel
Tsotsi, by Athol Fugard, lack of familyand illiteracy are problematic aspects to this
culture. Without family, people can become lonely and lose sense of hope since they
are not recieving the affection they need from a parent. Education is needed to further
one s life and help others. Although families lost members and education was not a
standard, knowing who you are and making connections with people made your life feel
more complete. If children grow up without role models, they will lose their sense of
direction in life. Usually, the role models are their parents, and if the parents are young,
their still growing up themselves, making it harder to be the role models the children
need. When Fugard introduces Miriam Ngidi, a young motherin Sophiatown, she is
described as, She was eighteen years old and carried a baby on her back (130). Right
outside Tsotsi s window is where mothers in town met near the queue to fill their
paraffin tins. Later on, Tsotsi would ask Miriam to feed his baby and she becomes the
cause of him taking on the role of a father figure. Miriam s youth exhibits the cultural
tradition of starting
The Vietnam War Was A Long Lasting Conflict Essay
The Vietnam War was a long lasting conflict in the Southeast Asia. It started after World
War II in 1954 and didn t end until April 30th, 1975. This war killed over 200,000
Vietnamese and over 58,000 American soldiers in the war; on top of that, the lives of
over two million civilians. This war was also known as America s longest war that helped
with the control of communism during the Cold War. For nineteen years, the Democratic
Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam) fought against the American Supported Republic
of Vietnam (South Vietnam). This war ended in 1973 for the United States and then two
years later; South Vietnam surrendered to the north.
Before all this happened and Vietnam was divided into two; it was one country ruled by
the French in 1945. But with the influence of communism from surrounding countries
such as China, that form of government became stronger in Vietnam as well. The leader
/president of Vietnam, declared it an independent country and when this happened many
didn t agree with him and wanted to still be ruled by the French. So a war between the
leader Ho Chi Minh s followers and the French began in 1946 and lasted for eight years;
ending only because the French last a very important battle. (Citation, YEAR)
The French were forced out of the country and that s when Vietnam divided into two
(North and South Vietnam). The north was controlled by communist and the south was
controlled by those who still supported the French. The government in
Tak As Greywacke Essay
The material used for this sculpture says a lot about the time in which it was made.
The early dynastic period you see a lot of sculptures being carved from limestone and
light sandstone. The Pre dynastic and early dynastic periods also carved their statues
from wood and ivory. This is still true for sculptures of the later time period but is most
common among the lower level elite class and the slavery class. This is not often seen
carried out in the creation of royal sculptures as they upgraded to harder to obtain and
harder to carve stone; such as greywacke, gneiss, calcite, and diorite. There are some
cases in which harder stones were used for non royal sculpture, but it was rare. During
the Old Kingdom period is when you start to see variation in the type of stone used.

During the 4th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom period there is a drastic change in the
layout of funerary complexes, to compensate for the change of ideas about kinship. There
was now an emphasis on the relationship of the king and the sun god, along with its
power. This ties in with the material used by the sculpture due to the dark color of the
greywacke stone. When placed in the right position the sculpture would reflect the sun
and would emphasize the connection between the pharaoh and the sun god, who during
the Old Kingdom period became the primary focus. The sculpture was partially
polished with traces of red and black paint found on it. This gives the impression that
the sculpture wasn t finished before king Menkaure died and the only portions where
paint was found was on the head of the king and his queen. Although not finished, the
polished feature of the sculpture give it a sleek presence as well as helping to emphasize
the body features of both the king and the
The Penguin Atlas Of Women
The Penguin Atlas of Women in the World by Joni Seager discusses the inequality
around the globe with a focus on women with an objection to raise awareness to the
public. Eager states As we enter the 21st century, we need public and civic leaders
who will build on these feminist foundations to make unflinching real not rhetorical
commitments to social justice for women (Seager 9 10). Seager presents an intriguing
idea stating that leaders in office must understand the full extent of how serious this
issue is; if not, human rights will not be altered. Several women today are not being
treated equally. They are harassed and bullied with harsh mental and physical abuse.
On October 30th, 2014, over 220 women were raped in less than 36 hours in Tabit. The
HRW (Human Rights Watch) had been following the case with caution. Although the
Tibet government has been trying to hide this terrible case, a man told the HRW, They
said if I talked about Tabit again that I was going to be finished. They kicked me. Tied
me and hanged me up. They beat me with whips and electric wires (Human Rights
Watch). This mass rapewas claimed to be a deliberate attack on Tabit and the mass rape
of the town s women and girls is a new low in the catalog of atrocities in Darfur
(Human Rights Watch). The Sudanese armed forces caused a mass rape of over 200
women as a political statement in war. One of the soldiers told a mother You killed our
man. We are going to show you true hell (Humans Right
Homong Spirituality In When The Spirit Catches You And...
Homong Spirituality in Western Medicine
Throughtout the later chapters of When The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down,
Fadiman describes how the Homong play a large role in the population of Merced, but
are not considered in the city s day to day life. This brings to light the strong ties of their
own community of the Homong. During this time of the book Lia has become more
stable from when she had her major sezirue but the brain damage from her grand mal
becomes more apparent. Lia s father, Nao Kao, continuously uses the Homong medicine
just as he has in the past which shows that he wants her health to return to a somewhat
normal state. In his view he sees a contradicting image that occurs between the Western
medicine preformed by the medical doctors versus the Homong traditional medicine
practices.
Homong vs. Western
The main focus of Westersn medicine is different than that of the Homong. Western
medicine is there to help prolong the life of an individual while Homong, on the other
hand, seeks to preform spiritual welfare. If Lia s family were to never leave Laos, she
would of easily passed from one of her many epileptic seizures that had occurred. The

As most Americans view the Spirit (much like the Christin conception of the soul) it is
transcendent and can exist beyond the phyisical body. The Homong view of the Spirit is
that is can affect the body s physical health throughout life and will continue to live on
after the physical life has ended. This is where one can view the Homong emphasis on
spirituality in their practice of medicine. In their practice the soul is thought to belong to
God, which this then takes precendence over the physical needs of the body. In Western
medicine the physical body is placed first rather than the spiritual
ZoГ« Sugg Research Paper
ZoГ« Sugg, also known as Zoella, is an internet sensation. She showed that when you
follow your dreams and do what you love, everything will eventually fall into place.
The beginning of the 24 year old s career was in 2009. At that time, she had decided
she did not want to go to university because she didn t quite know what she wanted to
do; her anxiety also played a big role in her decision. Instead of university, ZoГ«
worked as an apprentice at an interior design company near her home in Wiltshire. That
February she decided to create a blog, as a hobby. A little corner of the internet for the
things she loved and thought others might enjoy. Soon after her blog gained a bit of
popularity, her readers encouraged her to make a YouTube channel.
Charlie Gordon In Flowers For Algernon

retarded adult who is experimented on to become more intelligent. Throughout the
story, he faces challenges having to deal with how he sees the world and how the
world sees him; Charlie slowly becomes less mentally disabled, but, as the protagonist
finds out, this procedure is not as great as it seems. At the beginning of the story,
Charlie say that he has a below average IQ, is thirty two years of age, and he goes to a
school for slow individuals, Beekman College Center for Retarded Adults. He works at
a bakery, and doctors are planning to perform an experiment on him, at the referral from
his English teacher, Mrs. Kinnian. Doctors Nemur and Strauss are the neurologists who
take on his case, and they have him tested... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though Charlie fixed the machines at his work to make working easier and quicker
his co workers fear him and, later, petition to have him fired, and Miss Kinnian can no
longer keep up with what he says all the time because it is so dense with genius level
ideas. Charlie overhears Doctors Strauss and Nemur arguing one day about whether or
not they should present their experimental results at an upcoming conference, and he
realizes that they are not as smart as he once thought they were. Miss Kinnian, or
Alice, and Charlie go on a date that goes well until they try to have sex in a park but
are interrupted by a teenage boy Charlie thinks he sees. Charlie thinks he s in love with
Alice, but whenever they try to be intimate he pulls away, horrified by the memories of
his mother s abuse when he was a child. One night, he has a particularly awful flashback
of his mother beating him for being aroused, and the three nights following that are
marred by nightmares of past harrows in his

The flood of Gilgamesh and the Biblical story of the flood in Genesis showed similar characteristics, but the Biblical flood was not influenced by ancient readings in the Epic of Gilgamesh. Noah s ark was influenced by God in the Bible, compared to the flood in the Epic of Gilgamesh where it is written on clay tablets influenced by many gods and goddesses. The biblical flood is taught today as a place in religion throughout Christian teaching, where the Epic of Gilgamesh is based off stories found in the 18th Century in an ancient library called Nineveh (Lorey). Despite the two accounts being so similar in context, there are some differences as well confirming the clear distinction between the two. • 5. Software Development Is No Easy Task Software development is no easy task. There are many ways to plan and execute the development of a software application. The biggest problem facing developers is to figure out which processes will work best for them. There are many things a developer needs ask themselves when planning a product. Requirements gathering has many ways to be accomplished, but which is the best? Should a waterfall style of development be used, or does agile offer more important features? Would it save time to develop in a test driven environment? What is the most accurate way to estimate the time needed to complete the project? Is there an architecture that would be more efficient for this product? How can the documentation be kept up to pace with the code?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This means that trying to interpret someone else s wants and needs can result in a different interpretation by the developer, resulting in features that were not properly developed. This process can also often be hindered by the fact that customers do not actually know what they want, and are unaware of what would actually best fulfill their needs. There are ways in which these miscommunications and customer misnomers can be combatted. One way is to interview the client and take notes on what they need their software to do. Often these notes can be much different than what the client actually tells you they need. Another way to get requirements is by observation. Observing a client do their job and navigate current software can often tell you much more than the client themselves. This process can also help during the design process as you can see what function are used the most frequent and should be at the top of the design backlog. Although there are many more way to gather requirements, these types of requirements gathering that require customer interaction tend to produce the best results. Waterfall vs. Agile When developing a software product there are two different project management approaches that can be taken: waterfall or agile. Both waterfall and agile have their advantages and disadvantages but agile has become the more popular of the two, due to its ease of change during the devolvement process. Waterfall development is constructed with a step by step

  • 11. Family Medicine And Family Practice There are many misunderstandings where people mistakenly think that family medicine and family practice are the same thing, but they are undoubtedly wrong. According to Brown, family medicine is the academic discipline, composed of knowledge, skills and attitudes. Family practice is the application of that knowledge in a system of medical care (Brown, 1979). Dr. Lynn Carmichael also stated that, an important component in the definition of the family physicianis that he has a tenured relationship in which the doctor and the family members have mutually agreed upon obligations. No other physician has this unwritten contract with patients of all ages and with the whole family (Brown, 1979). In other words, family practice consists of family medicine, but family medicine does not consists of family practice. This is what makes family physicians unique from other physicians. They have their own bond with the patients without having to having to have some kind of written contract. It gives the patients time to understand and get to know the physician and have an actual conversation. Whereas for other physicians there is a tendency where the physician is having a one way conversation where the physician is only talking to the patient and the patient is just listening. Family physicians are distinctively educated to care for you as a whole person, apart from age or sex. The study claims on the one hand that violence desensitizes children; on the other, that it also incites more violence. In spite of this ambivalent evidence, Cannon s research is deliberate and narrow minded in intention, using only what he needs to support his own point of view and ignoring the NBC evidence. Importance Of Education In Athol Fugard s Tsotsi Education can make or break someone s path of life and families can be split apart for several reasons, for example, prison, war, divorce, etc. Tsotsi takes place in Sophiatown, South Africa during December of 1960. During this time, many families were struggling to stay in contact and it was rare that people had a high level of education. In the novel Tsotsi, by Athol Fugard, lack of familyand illiteracy are problematic aspects to this culture. Without family, people can become lonely and lose sense of hope since they are not recieving the affection they need from a parent. Education is needed to further one s life and help others. Although families lost members and education was not a standard, knowing who you are and making connections with people made your life feel more complete. If children grow up without role models, they will lose their sense of direction in life. Usually, the role models are their parents, and if the parents are young, their still growing up themselves, making it harder to be the role models the children need.
