This report has been developed to address how companies an motivate
their customer service team s behavior to achieve the organization s business
objectives through a pay for performance pay plan , which is used in the federal
government job sector. Throughout the U.S and internationally, customer service
has become the primary structure of many companies . Customer Service is the

customer service contact recordings and managerial call monitoring to identify
trends, problems in training, and success in call handling. Most companies that
use customer service as one of their vivable tools of business, offer the consumer
an opportunity to express their feelings about the service they receive, these
reports are also great tools to use when assessing possible areas of concern in
providing customer service. Once all information is gathered and assessed, it is
then time to address the issues and concerns that have been identified by
management, employees and consumers. New business strategies derived from
all information gathering methods described can be used in the implementation
of training, coaching, development, and a pay for performance business strategy.
The final outcome of management research and analysis can be provided to
all employees so that they are informed of the actions that management has
taken to address the problems that are faced by the workforce of customer
service. These actions should include the development of new strategies to
successfully achieve the business objectives associated with the company s
mission statement and goals, in addition to the new pay for perfomance plan. The actions associated

Immanuel Kant The Gale
Following my first naïve encounter with Homer Winslow s The Gale, the painting I selected to adopt
over the course of the semester, it became time to analyze the work using the various philosophers
read in class in an attempt to uncover new thoughts or ideas regarding the appreciation and
examination of the artwork selected. The first of these philosophers happened to be Immanuel Kant,
the famous and influential German enlightenment thinker. Throughout his work The Critique of
Judgment, Kant tries (with elaborate and often confusing explanations) to describe his reasoning
regarding the types of contemplative judgments made by humans, and the innate differences between
them. Kant states, that in addition to a judgment of taste (the beautiful),

The Olympic Games in Ancient Greece and Now
Throughout the years, major events such as the Olympic games have shaped our history, establishing
global tradition and unity. The games serve as a gathering for hundreds of competing nations, with
each country showcasing their best athletes. However, the games were not always how they are today
and have changed dramatically throughout the years.
The first recorded Olympics were held in 776 B.C. However, it is believed that the games had been
going on much earlier. It is said that Heracles, the son of Zeus and Alcmene, was the founding father
of the Olympic games (The Olympic Games 1). The Olympics essentially began as a religious
ceremony honoring the Greek god Zeus. The celebration was a sporting event held in Olympia, where
the title of the Olympics was originated. The festival occurred every four years in the summer and
featured a series of athletic contests. Many of which are very different from the sports played today.
The games played during the Olympics in ancient Greece over three thousand years ago consisted of
running and equestrian events, javelin, wrestling and boxing. Horse drawn chariots were often used in
equestrian events. Over time new sports were added. As culture changed and the games became
international, sports such as chariot races were no longer a part of the modernized Olympics. The
combination between wrestling and boxing was a sport known as pankration. However the sport
included no rules. This has changed with the introduction of the modern

The Role Of Male Socialization On Children Essay
Before I was born into this hectic society, I was assigned the specific gender of female based solely on
the genitals I possessed. From then on, I was instructed and socialized by the ones I love and trust how
to dress, love, carry myself, and act amongst others solely based off my gender assignment. My family
was always trying to put me in cute dresses and put all sorts of bows in my hair. I remember them
telling me, You are going to make a man very happy one day, or Just wait till you get married to the
man of your dreams. This type of heterosexual enforcement continued to be encouraged in church and
throughout the media by socializing and teaching me to believe that one day I would find one man that
I would marry and continue to pass on the cycle of heterosexual socialization to my children. Due to
all of this exposure, heterosexuality became natural and thus, normal to me; however, this type of
heterosexual socialization and heteronormativity is often unrealistic to those who desire a different
relationship or family, causing them to feel excluded by a majority of society. This kind of exclusion
has made people realize that this type of socialization is dangerous because it makes those who do not
fit into this idealistic society feel trapped. It is also seen as unnecessary due to the immense amount of
pressure it creates on everyone to live up to society s expectations and is simply inconsistent with
today s diverse social and familial formations that people

Mediterranean Basin Polytheism
The Mediterranean Basin experienced many political and cultural changes from the 8th century BC to
the 5th century CE. First, religious views in the Roman Empire that spread throughout the
Mediterranean changed from polytheism to monotheism over time because people were unsatisfied
with the lack of spiritual passion in their current beliefs. Second, political structures and forms of
government changed from independent city states and republics to empires due to expanding political
entities, trade, and colonization. Lastly, architecture and art continued to improve society by
promoting political organization and public welfare.

Greece had many city states with acropolises, agoras, and temples. Greek architects constructed
acropolises on fortified hilltops for citizens to discuss government business. The agora was
strategically designed to be in the center of a city state as a marketplace for the general public to shop
and gather. Many Greek city states built temples and monuments to honor their patron deity and serve
as religious structures. The most famous of those temples was the Parthenon in Athens, which was
considered a massive architectural feat at the time. Approximately one century after the Parthenon was
constructed, Alexander the Great began to spread Hellenistic art. Two major statues of Hellenistic art
were the Colossus of Rhodes and Nike of Samothrace. The sculptures honored the two gods and
commemorated war victories. Similar to Greece, Ancient Rome s architects designed structures
benefiting the general public, political religion, and religion. Many government buildings and the
Twelve Tables were located in the Forum, an intricately designed plaza in the center of Rome. The
Pantheon, constructed in 27 BC, honored all the Roman gods and displayed the brilliance of Roman
architects. Other structures to provide entertainment and promote public health were constructed from
Julius Caesar s rule to the end of the Roman Empire, 476 AD. Public baths, aqueducts, and roads were
created to promote a healthier and more efficient lifestyle for the people of the Roman Empire. The
Colosseum was a source of entertainment for many people and incorporated advanced technology,
such as arches and drainage systems. As the Roman Empire gradually declined, architecture was used
for defense purposes. Multiple defensive walls were built to protect Roman Empire from invaders.
One of the first walls built was Hadrian s wall (122 AD) and the last wall built was the Anastasian

Data Measured On The Control Condition Essay
Results
Compared to the control condition, a significant decrease in the level of NRS pain scores was related
to the hypnotic hypoalgesia condition (2.9+/ 0.4, P 0.0001) compared to the control condition (5.4+/
0.3). During all three experimental conditions, the NRS scores were reported as a mean and compared
using an analysis of variance (ANOVA). The analyses of the NRS is a collection of quantitative data
measured on an interval obtained from the participants throughout the duration of the experiment
(Abrahamsen et al., 2010).
The areas of the brain associated with the pain matrix, the right posterior insula and the primary
somatosensory cortex, showed a significant increase in activation in response to the control condition
during the painful pin prick stimulus compared to no painful stimulus. There was also a significant
increase in activation of the right posterior middle temporal gyrus, the middle frontal gyrus, the left
supramarginal gyrus, and the precentral gyrus. A portion of the posterior insula was significantly
activated during the hypnotic hypoalgesia condition with the painful prick stimuli. The painful prick
stimulation in the hypnotic hyperalgesia condition showed an increase in the activation of the inferior
parietal lobule, the precentral gyrus, and the posterior insula (Abrahamsen et al., 2010).
The data collected from the fMRI scans was quantitative biological data measured on a ratio scale

Social Independence and Prejudice in Harrison Bergeron and...
Harrison Bergeron is a story that depicts a society whereby everyone is equal mentally, physically and
socially. The people were forced to wear handicaps, masks, weights and headsets in order to be equal
with each other in the society. V for Vendetta is a 2005 action packed film by James McTeigue which
presents a society that is controlled by the government. The film and the story present dystopian
societies and both are stories of the future which shows how the government will slowly start
controlling its people. In all the stories, one character stands up to the government and shows
significant defiance unfortunately, they end up dying trying to fight the all controlling governments. In

The society wants everyone to be same and Harrison who was a teenager that was beyond average was
made by the government to be equal like the rest of the community but they failed to hold him down.
The government saw Harrison as a threat to their forced equality doctrine. The government through
the Handicapper General altered the strength, beauty and intelligence of its people so that everyone in
the community could be equal mentally, physically and socially by torturing them. The beautiful
people were forced to wear hideous masks in order to cover their faces, the strong were forced to carry
weights in order to be equal with the weak and the intelligent were forced to wear headsets and
handicaps so as to interfere with their intelligent thoughts. It was a society whereby the citizens were
tortured in order to achieve physical, mental and intellectual equality among all Americans. Those
who did not wear handicaps were severely punished by the government as they were under
surveillance throughout.
The society in Harrison Bergeron is deprived of its rights to social independence. The people are only
allowed to do what the government tells them to do and are not allowed to incorporate their own ideas
since they will be termed as defiant and therefore punished. The society in Harrison Bergeron is
always under surveillance on everything they do and therefore they cannot be socially

Constitutionality Of The Death Penalty
Death Penalty
Death is not only an unusually severe punishment, unusual in its pain, in its finality and in its
enormity, but it serves no penal purpose more effectively than a less severe punishment; therefore the
principle inherent in the clause that prohibits pointless infliction of excessive punishment when less
severe punishment can adequately achieve the same purposes invalidates the punishment. 1
The use of death as a punishment for one s crimes is not a new concept in early American history. Up
until the 1960s, the Fifth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution have
permitted the use of death as a penalty to those who committed heinous crimes. However, the
fundamental legality of the death penalty is being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The death penalty was heavily influenced by the British when the early European settlers came to the
new world. The first recorded execution on early American soil was the execution of Captain George
Kendall in the Jamestown colony of Virginia on December 1st, 1608. Kendall was executed by the
means of a firing squad for suspicion of being a spy for Spain and treason.4 A couple years later, Sir
Thomas Dale, governor of Virginia, enacts the Divine, Moral and Martial laws in 1611. The Virginia
colony was organized as a corporation, with a charter direct from the kind of England and stock
holders. This corporation failed due to inability to partner with the Indians, constant war, and growing
food crisis leading into starvation and despair. Sir Thomas Dale was chosen to be the new leader of the
Virginia Colony, arriving in 1610, with a new set of laws for the colony. The laws consisted of 88
articles, and in short, the laws enacted severe punishments for minor offenses like stealing grapes,
killing chickens, and trading with Indians. Examples of the punishments would be starvation, burned
alive, broken bones, or even shot to

The objective of the report is to offer a proposed solution for a modern network that meets the
organisation s needs. A review of existing network was conducted; school management and number of
students were observed. Current network performance was provided by the management. A physical
assessment of the whole school was conducted. Findings The existing network is exhibiting
congestion, bottlenecks, poor speed and is not adequate for growth in line with company strategy .
There is no physical connection between the two buildings occupied by the organisation. The school is
already sharing information through a VPN site to site tunnel. The current VPN approach throughout
the school is not efficient. There is currently a disaster recovery opportunity in place of school data.
Recommendations An investment is required to form a physical network connection between the
school, Fibre Optic is suggested. An investment in layer 3 switching technology is recommended to
take advantage of the Fibre Optic upgrade An investment in hardware for disaster recovery is highly
recommended. Two major departments should consider moving to Cloud based technology to replace
existing applications. 1 ANALYSIS OF USER REQUIREMENTS 1.1 Network users; Analysis The

Fred s transformation within the film is essential because as Laurence s most influential significant
other, the changes she makes portray the power and turmoil of the film s narrative. Within the film,
Fred changes from being clueless and reckless to being capable and rational. The movie first
introduces Fred to the audience as carefree by including scenes with Laurence and her smoking and
drinking. She appears to be passionately in love with Laurence, causing her to remain with Laurence
despite feeling alienated and deceived after Laurence came out. Fred continues to view Laurence as a

Teacher Reflection Paper
Introduction: I have learned a lot for the short period of time that I have been in school in Guadalajara.
Thanks to the ten teaching practices I have had lots of hours to practice my teaching. I went from
knowing absolutely nothing about teaching, to feeling like I can teach any subject in English at ease. I
understand what to do, and what not to do in a classroom setting. My observers helped me improve
my teaching from adequate to a professional standard.
What is a good teacher?
A good teacher is one that has a passion for teaching. A good teacher is one that is takes pleasure in
seeing their students comprehend their lessons. Being able to connect with your students is an
important part of being a teacher. If you can t connect with your students, you cannot teach them
properly. Another element to being a good teacher is making sure that no student feels left out. A good
teacher will utilize every student to make sure that everyone understands the objective and is learning
properly.
Strengths and Weaknesses: One of my strengths as a teacher is being able to get along well with the
students. In none of my classes did I have a class where I did not vibe well with one of the students. I
always try my best to get every student to participate. When I see a student struggling with the lesson I
utilize other students to explain to them what is going on. My weakness would most likely be my
pacing. On multiple occasions I failed to finish my entire lesson plan, and on some occasions, I
finished my lesson plan too fast. I would like to be able to better pace my lesson plans so that I don t
feel as rushed to finish, or anxious I will finish early.
Teaching Approaches: I find the direct method to be the best method in teaching English. In the Direct
Method, language is taught inductively and the target language is used exclusively. (ITTO, Page 119)
For teaching grammar, I believe teaching inductively cements the grammar structure into the student s
minds. It uses the students own thinking ability to figure out the grammar structure of a sentence. This
allows students to better understand what they are being taught. It also makes it easier for students to
better use the grammar when they are making their

Requirements And Issue Management Systems
1. Requirements and Issue Management Systems
Requirements and issue management systems allow managers or leaders to classify and affiliate
characteristics with them, and to establish and evaluate dependencies and other common ties.
Requirements set the stage for a project and issue management is an important process of identifying
and resolving issues (Cook, 2015). Shaw Industries used an agile methodology called Scrum to
improve relationships between IT and business partners to ensure project success (O Brien Marakas,
2011). IT used this tool to work collectively as a group and determine which project will give Shaw
Industries the best value. They divided the project into segments: 30 days to complete a series of tasks.
Once the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
IT must have something to show during its effort, and if they deliver, this will promote a positive
relationship.
A healthy organization is one that involves people who are loyal to one another, never judges,
expresses genuine appreciation across their organizational structure, assists others with critical tasks
and never places blame on someone (Williams, 2013). When businesses make and keep promises, they
see strong trust and respect across the organization. If they often make commitments but fail to keep
them, people will see frustration and self starving behavior (Williams, 2013). Shaw Industries focused
on consistency to build a trusting relationship with their client. They delivered priorities by an explicit
deadline and in turn, trust was earned. A customer s ability to trust is dependent upon showing the
customer that your behavior is consistent and persistent over time. When a customer can predict your
behavior, that customer is more likely to trust you (James, 2012).
While the agile system was the popular choice for Shaw Industries, this certainly does not mean it is
the best choice for every organization. There are hundreds of Requirements and Issue Management
software available. SpiraTest, RequirementsHub, DevSpec, Gatherspace and Bugzilla are just a few
that are popular today (Top Requirements Management Software Products, 2015). Each has their own
set of tools and configurations to assist project managers. An effective issue management system

Civil War Music
Civil War Music Music was a vital part of the war. The Civil War had also been referred to America s
great musical war. There was a rank for musicians. They played at recruitment rallies and kept up the
troops morale. Their main job was to relay orders from higher ranking officers. The branches of the
military determined which instrument made the calls. The drummer boys, fife players, buglers and the
songs that they performed played a significant part in the war. Drummer boys enlisted to serve in the
infantry. These boys were usually eighteen years old, but younger boys sometimes faked their age to
enlist. They learned to relay orders to help soldiers during battle by sounding a call, which is a short
tune with an assigned job or order. They had to go through meticulous training because they had to
make the correct calls. With the battlefields covered in gun smoke, the soldiers relied on the drummer
boys to sound the orders. If their calls were incorrect, they could confuse the soldiers or even give
them the wrong orders. In addition to this, drummer boys had to make calls in camp. Some of the
common calls were morning roll call, sick call, guard duty and taps. Being a drummer boy was only
one of the different types of musicians that had these responsibilities. Musicians that play fife,
commonly called fifers, marched alongside drums in battles. A fife is like a piccolo. It is also similar
to a flute, but it has a much higher range. The fife was useful

This course has made me well versed in the teaching modules needed to become an effective teacher
in the twenty first century.Teachers have dual responsibilities in this generation. Teaching has evolved
from simply making sure that the students are learning the subject matter of preparing them for
survival in the 21st Century Learning. This necessitates engagement in Digital Participatory Culture,
and the importance of Civic Engagement. Students are entering an age where they are being asked to

It can be characterized by Jane L. David s article on Service Learning and Civic Participation, Projects
with civic engagement goals expose students to social problems and to public agencies responsible for
the amelioration of these problems. For example, instead of organizing a food drive as an end in itself
a traditional form of community service students might use this activity as a springboard to research
and discuss how effectively government agencies at various levels respond to hunger (David 1). Civic
participation creates an environment for students to undertake a community focused activity allows
them to become active participants in their community. Another important conclusion that comes from
Civic Participation is its connection to Self actualization, This study provides a description of how
digital natives conceptions of civic action and communication differ from those of previous
generations. For the majority of the 20th century, Dutiful Citizenship reflected the dominant belief that
civic engagement is a matter of duty or obligation. For digital natives, however, citizenship is not a
duty. Their civic actions originate from their personally expressive politics (esco.com 2).I conclude
from this that students need activities that engage not only their Civic Responsibility but also their
own personal

Importance Of Teaching Reasoning And Proof
Teaching Reasoning and Proof
As educators and as students it is pivotal to emphasize the importance of reasoning and proof in the
classroom. By doing such, students will develop a higher level of thinking not only in the classroom
but in the real world as well. In secondary education, it is only a short period of time until students are
faced with complex thinking that is not specific to any textbook. In education specifically students
will have to approach problems in different directions. This is something that takes a bit of adjusting
to if that student is not previously exposed to reasoning and proofs. Very young students make
conjectures all the time. It is one of the beauties of preschool and kindergarten. At this stage of life,
kids are very curious about most subjects. In the case of geometry, a preschool student starts to
recognize the similarities of a square and a cube. They obviously may not be able to reason what the
volume of the cube is, but they start to recognize the similarities. This is a tremendous aspect that
shouldn t be looked over. It is important to continue and develop these students and not let that
curiosity diminish. That curiosity is the drive in education. At this age, educators should focus on the
basics of reasoning. There aren t many formulas for these kids, they are just being exposed to the
process. It makes sense for the teachers to spend more time on the reasoning early; in return the
student s brains will start to develop those

The Volkswagen Beetle
The people #8217;s car #8211; generically, Volkswagen in German #8211; is almost as old as the
automobile, and the type was familiar in Germany long before the advent of the Volkswagen. Usually
these #8220;popular #8221; cars were minimal cars, though size and simplicity did not necessarily
bring them within the reach of the ordinary man in the street. Henry Ford did build a successful

the next motor show, at Geneva in March 1994, the strong public reaction had led to corporate change
of mind, and chairman Ferdinand Piech decided that it would be developed as a production model.
Beetle had never been an official VW name, but the public inevitably saw Concept I as #8220;Beetle

The Grand Canyon is a plateau canyon.Summer temperatures on the South Rim are relatively pleasant
(50°s 80°s F; 10°s to high 20°s C) but inner canyon temperatures are extreme. Daytime highs at the

It has affected humans, the area has attracted more of a population and the humans are planting non
native plants. On a negative note the humans are also making the area more polluted, but the Grand
Canyon is passing laws to prevent that from happening. The canyon has also affected animals. They
have become more agitated and attack humans if they go near them. Almost every habitat of the
Southwestern United States is in the canyon. The Grand Canyon has also changed plant life. There are
approximately 1,737 known species of vascular plants, 167 species of fungi, 64 species of moss and
195 species of lichen found in Grand Canyon National Park. The variety is mostly due to the elevation
change. The economy has changed positively. It has created as much as $467 million dollars from
tourists. All the tourists come to see the popular landmark. Careers that would be good for the grand
canyon would be an ecologist because they often have to study and explain how human actions affect
other living things and their environment. Another career that this information would be good for is a
botany, botany is the scientific study of plants how plants function, what they look like, how they are
related to each other, where they grow, how people make use of plants, and how plants evolved. The
Grand Canyon has had negative effects and positive effects on the area. The negative part is that the

Separation Of Government
The Great Separation Of God And Government
Everyday our minds are being filled with conflicting ideas. A wall is being built between religion and
reason. This is the truth about the separation of church and state. Religion is a big aspect of life in the
U.S., recent statistics show that on average 72% of adults in the U.S. profess a belief in God. The
conflict between reason and right goes hand in hand in this country. Everyday those who live life with
religion are being tested by people that challenge their beliefs, infringe on their personal freedom, and
try to force their own beliefs into the minds of others.
This became an issue in the 1700 s and continues to be an issue today. Because religion is being
controlled by government, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am sure that at some point in life we have all argued a topic with another person and known that we
are right, so we try to convince them that what they believe is right is actually wrong. This is what
happens when we try to define separation of church and state. What we have now is not a separation
of church and state, but a regulation of religion. There is no actual proof of a defined separation of
church and state in the constitution, but instead an idea of one created by Thomas Jefferson in a letter
written while he was president . Then there is the enlightenment view which emphasized liberty of
conscience in religious matters and implied a minimum of state involvement with religion
(Menendez). Although people still try to force their beliefs on others and justify it by saying that it is
written in the constitution. If that was not bad enough, people are being treated as ignorant for having
a belief in God. This separation split this country and created a vast division between its

An Obligation On Self Care
an obligation. Self care means balancing a concern for others with a concern for one s own well
being... A similar view is held by Eileen Scully who believes that the challenge to be well is rooted in
the sacramental promise of communion and baptism. As the Body of Christ is called to completeness,
so pastors are called to a new way of life which was fashioned, well ordered and blessed by God and
acquired for us through our Lord Jesus Christ. Just as the church has come to express a theology of
ordained ministry that is rooted in and serves the baptismal ministry shared by the whole church, so
too, issues of clergy wellness cannot be seen in isolation from the wellness of the whole body. These
points of view are echoed by G. Lloyd Rediger who believes that pastors are peculiarly unconcerned
about their physical fitness and well being and make less provision for their agendas and time
schedules. Their own self care is set aside in favor of other ministry requirements. These obligations
intrude and take over the very essence of their beings. Rediger further inserts that there is a theological
disconnect when pastors fail to model fitness for their congregation. Pastors have been guilt ridden to
denying the body in order to enrich their spirits. Gary Thomas, author of Everybody Matters;
Strengthening Your Body to Strengthen your Soul, says, Becoming spiritually and physically fit are
two ways that we can grow in our inner and outer strength, as well as in our

In Bolivar County, Mississippi, stands Mound Bayou, one of the first black towns in the U.S. It is

Montgomery and his cousin Benjamin T. Green. Both Montgomery and Green were former slaves.
They both were formerly owned by Joseph Emory Davis, a lawyer turned successful planter the older
brother/mentor to Jefferson Davis, the former President of Confederacy. The town is a national
significance because it represented many towns established by African American who moved from the
South to the North after slavery.

Internship Reflection
While I was doing my internship, I worked in the newly created Vocational Center. The Vocational
Center was the brain child of my supervisor Cathy Zuback. The Vocational Center had been running
for three months unofficially before I started my internship and I had the privilege of being there for
the grand opening on June 7th, 2017. The Vocational Center exists to help residents of the mission
create resumes, job search, prepare for interviews, and get the necessary identification that they need
to get hired.
The Vocational Center also provides various job readiness and certification classes. We provide Serve
Safe, Retail Training, and forklift training, just to name a few. Each person that goes through one of
the Vocational Center classes gets a certificate that they can add to their resume. While I was
interning, I helped teach The Bridge the Gap and Retail Training class. Both classes introduced me to
a wide variety of people who each had their own unique problems and futures. It was an incredible
oppurtunity to teach people who had experienced so much in their lives and the hope that they had for
the future.
The first theme that I noticed within the City Mission is power of hope. The Washington City Mission
s slogan is Hope for the Homeless and it is evidence through many of the Mission s resident (City
Mission 2015). However, no one in the Washington City Mission exemplified hope more than Clinton
Jones. Clinton Jones is a resident of the Mission who has had a rough life. He moved from his home in
the projects of Philadelphia at age eighteen in order to leave the drug and crime filled future that was
set before him. A few years ago, Clinton had two stokes that damaged his memory, emotional, and
analytical functions, but luckily didn t damage his ability to move. He was in my Retail Training class
and was determined to make a better life for himself. Clinton often says that he may not be the
quickest or the smartest, but he will be doing the best that he can. He has learned so much through this
class and I am so proud to see how he has grown. He is currently working at the City Mission s thrift
store and plans to move out of the Mission in September into his own apartment. Another theme that

Essay about Family and Medical Leave Act (Fmla)
Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) What is Family and Medical leave Act (FMLA)? The Family
and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) that was passed in 1993, is a national policy that grants workers up to
twelve weeks of unpaid leave in four situations. These four situations are for pregnancy; to care for an
infant, such as newborns, newly placed foster children, and adoptions; to care for a relative with a
serious health condition; or to allow an employee to recover and recuperate from a personal serious
health condition. This paper will be discussing the impact of FMLA on employers and the protections
provided by this law. (Vikesland, 2009)

President Bush prior to the passing of FMLA in 1992 vetoed a similar bill which was to suppress the
creation of new jobs resulting in the elimination of jobs that already existed. With the election of
President Clinton in 1992 assured the passing of FMLA which has been the focal point of Clinton s
campaign. (dol.gov., 2009) The FMLA was the first legislation that Clinton signed after taking office.
After that, employers and employees who are supporter of FMLA amended this to make sure it was
incorporated in more workplaces and to help provide for paid leave instead of unpaid leave.
Employers or employees skeptical of the FMLA focused on current Department of Labor regulations
for needless burdens upon employers. The Society for Human Resource Management had arguments
regarding the truth and legitimacy of requested leave. With those arguments, there were changes in the
policy and procedures of being an employee in a company revisiting regulations. There was also a
concern that employment law had failed to account for changes through employers and did not
provide enough protection to family life. There were prominent congressional debates over the bill
due to the potential loss of an employee/ parent who may be forced to quit their job in order to care for
one of the four situations that FMLA covers. Investigators who took a survey of leave not only

Empress Cixi s Rebellion Against The Boxer
With the belief being able to get rid of Western and Christianity spread, the Qing court supported the
Boxers such as that Dowager Empress Cixi want to turn the Boxer into a real military force to help the
Boxer put a stop to the invasion of Western s building of churches and converting Chinese into
Christian, we can see how the Qing court shaped foreign relations by facing the embarrassment of
having to apologized for each nation s loss of lives, and compensate for their crimes and it matters
because this just shows that the powerful Qing court wasn t able to protect its own government and
economy, allowing bankruptcy to occurred and resulted in peace settlement such as the Boxer

China had a difficult problem in that foreigner superior weapons technology had made the Chinese
government unable to fight the Foreign governments. The Chinese were forced into unequal trade
treaty and were overwhelmed with foreign missionaries. The foreign government made some efforts to
divide China into a country which another country has power to affect developments with no formal
authority. If the Boxers could break the hold of the foreigners, then the Chinese government had a
chance to change things for the better. The Boxers were a rebellion against Christian missionaries and
corruption. They were a nationalist group with the influence of anti foreign ideas and activities in
society and declared their support for the government. China had a strong anti foreign tradition and
foreigners were considered outsiders and barbaric. After 1860, Western missionaries were given the
right to preach Christianity throughout China and to rent or buy land for construction of churches. The
presence of these foreigners is unwanted and aroused anger among Chinese because the missionaries

The Depiction Of Zeus By Hesiod
The Depiction of Zeus The mythological character and God, Zeus, is portrayed in many ways, by
many different people. Hesiod describes Zeus as being relentless in his fury. When he gets mad he
unleashes all of his power. If his brother Hades wasn t in charge of the Underworld, he d make all of
Hell break loose. For example, in Hesiod s Theogony, which is about when Zeus defeated his father,
Cronus, he says, Then Zeus did not hold back any longer, but now immediately his heart was filled
with strength and he showed clearly all his force. (Morford and Lenardon 85) He tends to treat others,
mortals and immortals, very unfairly. Two mortals could do the same exact type of sacrilege towards
him, and depending on how he felt that day, he would take two very different approaches to how he
would treat them. He also doesn t take any threats towards him very lightly at all. If anyone ever
threatens him, he normally punishes them very severely, if he doesn t destroy them completely. Hesiod
s approach to Zeus behavior is overdramatic, and makes it seem more extreme than it probably would
ve been.
In Hesiod s stories of the Ages of Creation, some of the humans were like gods, but those created in
the Age of Bronze and the Age of Iron were terrible. They supposedly performed the painful and
violent deeds of Ares. Those in the Iron Age were constantly given troubles by the gods, and they are
randomly destroyed in the night.
Ovid s perspective of Zeus is completely opposite of that of

Ventricular Fibrillation And Its Effects On The Heart
Ventricular fibrillation (VF) is a life threatening condition in which the signaling in the ventricles of
the hearts is no longer coordinated. The loss of this coordinated signaling causes rapid, random and
chaotic signaling leading to spasms of the ventricular walls. During VF, blood is not being circulated
to the brains and the rest of the body and is therefore deprived of oxygen. This condition can be
reversed by using a defibrillator, which sends an electric discharge of direct current to the victim (1).
Improper signaling of electrical activity in the heart can also lead to a rapid heart rate. This type of
tachycardia is called ventricular tachycardia (VT) and may lead to VF (Figure 1). Pulseless VT is also
with defibrillation and VF and VT are both considered shockable heart rhythms (2,3).
A large and increasing proportion of patients presents with non shockable rhythms in out of hospital
cardiac arrest (OHCA). These non shockable rhythms are pulseless electrical activity (PEA) and
asystole. During PEA, a normal heart rhythm is observed on the electrocardiogram (ECG), but without
cardiac output. Asystole is a condition without ventricular complexes. The heart muscles fail to
contract due to the lack of cardiac electrical activity. Both PEA and asystole are treated with
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) without defibrillation, combined with epinephrine administered
intravenously (4). Non shockable rhythms are associated with high mortality. The survival rates of

Language Quests-Personal Narrative
After I logged in I noticed Matt was already setting up, thinking nothing out of the ordinary I went
back to finding a long, but not tedious quest that hopefully would take us most of the night. I thought a
language quest might be the key, one with lots of puzzles and wordplay for Matt and then some
foreign language and classic English for me. What struck me most looking back now is that something
was not right as Matt set up. ~ ~ Crap, Matt whispered under his breath. Everything all right Matt? I
asked, leaning out of the rig to look at him. Yeah, just a small malfunction with the little suckers on
my glove. I think I fixed it, he replied. Alright, that s good, I said. I went back to looking for quests to
do together as I noticed Matthew had finally joined. What do you want to do? He asked. I was
thinking a language quest or something you and I might enjoy, I replied, hoping he d go for the
language choice. The language thing sounds fine, I think there s a quest we outsourced out in Yert that
dealt with languages. Do you maybe want ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

have been for decoration, he had no use for guns when he was that powerful. Over the top of his suit

The Early History Of Islam
THE EARLY HISTORY OF ISLAM
Lily Grote
HUM 2020: Introduction to the Humanities
December 1st, 2015
The history of the Islamic religion begins in 610 C.E., with Muhammad ibn Abdallah, a merchant who
every year during the month of Ramadan would retire to a cave on the summit of Mount Hira, just
outside Mecca in the Arabian Hijaz, where he prayed, fasted and gave alms to the poor. This was a
common practice for many Arabs in the peninsula. Muhammad was a merchant, a member of the tribe
Quraysh which had become quite wealthy trading among bordering countries. The Quraysh were
focused on accumulating more wealth but at the expense of the tribe s poorer family groups, known as
clans.
A spiritual restlessness had become apparent among many of the Arab countries, as they knew that
Judaism and Christianity were more refined than the Arab s own pagan customs. Many Arabs began to
believe that they were left out by al Lah (the High God of their pantheon, literally meaning the God )
because they were not sent a prophet or scripture such as Jesus, the Bible, or the Torah in that of the
Christian and Jewish religions. Muhammad himself had most likely never heard of the Christian
prophets. Oftentimes, the Jews and followers of Christ taunted the Arabs for not being a part of the
divine plan. On the 17th day of Ramadan, 610 C.E., Muhammad awoke from his slumber by an
overpowering presence that squeezed him so tightly that the word of a new Arab scripture fell from his

Do you think this is the best sorority on campus?
Yeah, because we do a lot for the community. We do our heart walk, which is coming up on October
28th. We also do a red dress gala in the spring. All the money that we raise we donate to womens heart
health. We also do things like go to nursing homes, soup kitchens, charity events. Our sister has a
lupus walk coming up. We also do a lot of things together like going to get food, hang out on the
weekends, shopping, and lazy days in.

and also how it helped them to make friends. Hopeful, I emailed them. I never got anything back. So, I
searched for a phone number with no luck and emailed them again. By this time, I knew I had to
change my story a little bit and get a new person to interview. My backup plan was to interview a
sorority girl about how going greek helped her make friends. I was going to go in the O (which is
where all the sororities and fraternities hang out and have offices) and ask if anyone would like to do
an interview for me. The more I thought about this the more I realized how much of an awful plan it
was. Instead, I remembered there was a sorority girl in my philosophy class. I asked her if she could
do an interview and she was busy until later that week. I had finally got everything straightened

Lies, the world revolves around them. Every election the candidates tell you want they think you want
to hear, they walk around the truth. We don t want to hear their lies, we want the truth, similar to Amir
in The Kite Runner and Marius and Fantine in Les Miserables. In literature the plot of the story
revolves around the lies that characters tell, whether to make things better, or just to hide their guilty
and shame from others. Every lie makes the story more complex and when the characters learn the
truth, they are changed, and sometimes it is for the better. Monsieur Gillenormand, in Victor Hugo s

Thesis Statement For Starbucks
The smell of fresh brewed Starbucks coffee is one of those things that makes my heart beat faster than
usuakprobably because it promises other good things in the air: lively conversation, pleasant thoughts
and inspiring music. When I go to Starbucks I usually stand in a long line waiting for people to finish
their complicated orders, and then when it s my turn I order a short (small) Iced Single Venti Mocha.
Just the taste of the Mocha in my mouth shows that I m a happy costumer. Starbucks coffee has
become an important part of our lives. Its logo, known as Siren, is widely recognized and can be found
in places from California to China. It is used in movies, and celebrities are often pictured with this
coffee in their hands. This product placement has become a form of free advertising for Starbucks and
the popularity of this brand has benefited drastically from it. Starbucks has become more than just a
symbol of a great cup of coffee; it is a product that symbolizes the global success of the Starbucks
brand and the importance of the social nature of coffee drinking all over the world. [Nice thesis

Immanuel Kant The Gale Following my first naïve encounter with Homer Winslow s The Gale, the painting I selected to adopt over the course of the semester, it became time to analyze the work using the various philosophers read in class in an attempt to uncover new thoughts or ideas regarding the appreciation and examination of the artwork selected. The first of these philosophers happened to be Immanuel Kant, the famous and influential German enlightenment thinker. Throughout his work The Critique of Judgment, Kant tries (with elaborate and often confusing explanations) to describe his reasoning regarding the types of contemplative judgments made by humans, and the innate differences between them. Kant states, that in addition to a judgment of taste (the beautiful), ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Olympic Games in Ancient Greece and Now Throughout the years, major events such as the Olympic games have shaped our history, establishing global tradition and unity. The games serve as a gathering for hundreds of competing nations, with each country showcasing their best athletes. However, the games were not always how they are today and have changed dramatically throughout the years. The first recorded Olympics were held in 776 B.C. However, it is believed that the games had been going on much earlier. It is said that Heracles, the son of Zeus and Alcmene, was the founding father of the Olympic games (The Olympic Games 1). The Olympics essentially began as a religious ceremony honoring the Greek god Zeus. The celebration was a sporting event held in Olympia, where the title of the Olympics was originated. The festival occurred every four years in the summer and featured a series of athletic contests. Many of which are very different from the sports played today. The games played during the Olympics in ancient Greece over three thousand years ago consisted of running and equestrian events, javelin, wrestling and boxing. Horse drawn chariots were often used in equestrian events. Over time new sports were added. As culture changed and the games became international, sports such as chariot races were no longer a part of the modernized Olympics. The combination between wrestling and boxing was a sport known as pankration. However the sport included no rules. This has changed with the introduction of the modern ... • 6. The Role Of Male Socialization On Children Essay Before I was born into this hectic society, I was assigned the specific gender of female based solely on the genitals I possessed. From then on, I was instructed and socialized by the ones I love and trust how to dress, love, carry myself, and act amongst others solely based off my gender assignment. My family was always trying to put me in cute dresses and put all sorts of bows in my hair. I remember them telling me, You are going to make a man very happy one day, or Just wait till you get married to the man of your dreams. This type of heterosexual enforcement continued to be encouraged in church and throughout the media by socializing and teaching me to believe that one day I would find one man that I would marry and continue to pass on the cycle of heterosexual socialization to my children. Due to all of this exposure, heterosexuality became natural and thus, normal to me; however, this type of heterosexual socialization and heteronormativity is often unrealistic to those who desire a different relationship or family, causing them to feel excluded by a majority of society. This kind of exclusion has made people realize that this type of socialization is dangerous because it makes those who do not fit into this idealistic society feel trapped. It is also seen as unnecessary due to the immense amount of pressure it creates on everyone to live up to society s expectations and is simply inconsistent with today s diverse social and familial formations that people ... First, religious views in the Roman Empire that spread throughout the Mediterranean changed from polytheism to monotheism over time because people were unsatisfied with the lack of spiritual passion in their current beliefs. Second, political structures and forms of government changed from independent city states and republics to empires due to expanding political entities, trade, and colonization. Greece had many city states with acropolises, agoras, and temples. Greek architects constructed acropolises on fortified hilltops for citizens to discuss government business. The agora was strategically designed to be in the center of a city state as a marketplace for the general public to shop and gather. Many Greek city states built temples and monuments to honor their patron deity and serve as religious structures. The most famous of those temples was the Parthenon in Athens, which was considered a massive architectural feat at the time. Approximately one century after the Parthenon was constructed, Alexander the Great began to spread Hellenistic art. Two major statues of Hellenistic art were the Colossus of Rhodes and Nike of Samothrace. The sculptures honored the two gods and commemorated war victories. Similar to Greece, Ancient Rome s architects designed structures benefiting the general public, political religion, and religion. Many government buildings and the Twelve Tables were located in the Forum, an intricately designed plaza in the center of Rome. The Pantheon, constructed in 27 BC, honored all the Roman gods and displayed the brilliance of Roman architects. Other structures to provide entertainment and promote public health were constructed from Julius Caesar s rule to the end of the Roman Empire, 476 AD. Public baths, aqueducts, and roads were created to promote a healthier and more efficient lifestyle for the people of the Roman Empire. The Colosseum was a source of entertainment for many people and incorporated advanced technology, such as arches and drainage systems. Data Measured On The Control Condition Essay Results Compared to the control condition, a significant decrease in the level of NRS pain scores was related to the hypnotic hypoalgesia condition (2.9+/ 0.4, P 0.0001) compared to the control condition (5.4+/ 0.3). During all three experimental conditions, the NRS scores were reported as a mean and compared using an analysis of variance (ANOVA). The analyses of the NRS is a collection of quantitative data measured on an interval obtained from the participants throughout the duration of the experiment (Abrahamsen et al., 2010). The areas of the brain associated with the pain matrix, the right posterior insula and the primary somatosensory cortex, showed a significant increase in activation in response to the control condition during the painful pin prick stimulus compared to no painful stimulus. There was also a significant increase in activation of the right posterior middle temporal gyrus, the middle frontal gyrus, the left supramarginal gyrus, and the precentral gyrus. A portion of the posterior insula was significantly activated during the hypnotic hypoalgesia condition with the painful prick stimuli. The painful prick stimulation in the hypnotic hyperalgesia condition showed an increase in the activation of the inferior parietal lobule, the precentral gyrus, and the posterior insula (Abrahamsen et al., 2010). Constitutionality Of The Death Penalty Death Penalty Death is not only an unusually severe punishment, unusual in its pain, in its finality and in its enormity, but it serves no penal purpose more effectively than a less severe punishment; therefore the principle inherent in the clause that prohibits pointless infliction of excessive punishment when less severe punishment can adequately achieve the same purposes invalidates the punishment. 1 The use of death as a punishment for one s crimes is not a new concept in early American history. • 15. Teacher Reflection Paper Introduction: I have learned a lot for the short period of time that I have been in school in Guadalajara. Thanks to the ten teaching practices I have had lots of hours to practice my teaching. I went from knowing absolutely nothing about teaching, to feeling like I can teach any subject in English at ease. I understand what to do, and what not to do in a classroom setting. My observers helped me improve my teaching from adequate to a professional standard. What is a good teacher? A good teacher is one that has a passion for teaching. A good teacher is one that is takes pleasure in seeing their students comprehend their lessons. Being able to connect with your students is an important part of being a teacher. If you can t connect with your students, you cannot teach them properly. Another element to being a good teacher is making sure that no student feels left out. A good teacher will utilize every student to make sure that everyone understands the objective and is learning properly. Strengths and Weaknesses: One of my strengths as a teacher is being able to get along well with the students. In none of my classes did I have a class where I did not vibe well with one of the students. I always try my best to get every student to participate. When I see a student struggling with the lesson I utilize other students to explain to them what is going on. My weakness would most likely be my pacing. On multiple occasions I failed to finish my entire lesson plan, and on some occasions, I finished my lesson plan too fast. I would like to be able to better pace my lesson plans so that I don t feel as rushed to finish, or anxious I will finish early. Teaching Approaches: I find the direct method to be the best method in teaching English. In the Direct Method, language is taught inductively and the target language is used exclusively. (ITTO, Page 119) For teaching grammar, I believe teaching inductively cements the grammar structure into the student s minds. It uses the students own thinking ability to figure out the grammar structure of a sentence. This allows students to better understand what they are being taught. It also makes it easier for students to better use the grammar when they are making their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Requirements and Issue Management Systems Requirements and issue management systems allow managers or leaders to classify and affiliate characteristics with them, and to establish and evaluate dependencies and other common ties. Requirements set the stage for a project and issue management is an important process of identifying and resolving issues (Cook, 2015). Shaw Industries used an agile methodology called Scrum to improve relationships between IT and business partners to ensure project success (O Brien Marakas, 2011). A healthy organization is one that involves people who are loyal to one another, never judges, expresses genuine appreciation across their organizational structure, assists others with critical tasks and never places blame on someone (Williams, 2013). When businesses make and keep promises, they see strong trust and respect across the organization. If they often make commitments but fail to keep them, people will see frustration and self starving behavior (Williams, 2013). Shaw Industries focused on consistency to build a trusting relationship with their client. They delivered priorities by an explicit deadline and in turn, trust was earned. A customer s ability to trust is dependent upon showing the customer that your behavior is consistent and persistent over time. When a customer can predict your behavior, that customer is more likely to trust you (James, 2012). While the agile system was the popular choice for Shaw Industries, this certainly does not mean it is the best choice for every organization. There are hundreds of Requirements and Issue Management software available. SpiraTest, RequirementsHub, DevSpec, Gatherspace and Bugzilla are just a few that are popular today (Top Requirements Management Software Products, 2015). Each has their own set of tools and configurations to assist project managers. An effective issue management system ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Civil War Music Civil War Music Music was a vital part of the war. The Civil War had also been referred to America s great musical war. There was a rank for musicians. They played at recruitment rallies and kept up the troops morale. Their main job was to relay orders from higher ranking officers. The branches of the military determined which instrument made the calls. The drummer boys, fife players, buglers and the songs that they performed played a significant part in the war. Drummer boys enlisted to serve in the infantry. These boys were usually eighteen years old, but younger boys sometimes faked their age to enlist. They learned to relay orders to help soldiers during battle by sounding a call, which is a short tune with an assigned job or order. They had to go through meticulous training because they had to make the correct calls. With the battlefields covered in gun smoke, the soldiers relied on the drummer boys to sound the orders. If their calls were incorrect, they could confuse the soldiers or even give them the wrong orders. In addition to this, drummer boys had to make calls in camp. Some of the common calls were morning roll call, sick call, guard duty and taps. Being a drummer boy was only one of the different types of musicians that had these responsibilities. Musicians that play fife, commonly called fifers, marched alongside drums in battles. A fife is like a piccolo. It is also similar to a flute, but it has a much higher range. The fife was useful ... By doing such, students will develop a higher level of thinking not only in the classroom but in the real world as well. In secondary education, it is only a short period of time until students are faced with complex thinking that is not specific to any textbook. In education specifically students will have to approach problems in different directions. This is something that takes a bit of adjusting to if that student is not previously exposed to reasoning and proofs. Very young students make conjectures all the time. It is one of the beauties of preschool and kindergarten. At this stage of life, kids are very curious about most subjects. In the case of geometry, a preschool student starts to recognize the similarities of a square and a cube. They obviously may not be able to reason what the volume of the cube is, but they start to recognize the similarities. This is a tremendous aspect that shouldn t be looked over. It is important to continue and develop these students and not let that curiosity diminish. That curiosity is the drive in education. At this age, educators should focus on the basics of reasoning. There aren t many formulas for these kids, they are just being exposed to the process. It makes sense for the teachers to spend more time on the reasoning early; in return the student s brains will start to develop those ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is what happens when we try to define separation of church and state. What we have now is not a separation of church and state, but a regulation of religion. There is no actual proof of a defined separation of church and state in the constitution, but instead an idea of one created by Thomas Jefferson in a letter written while he was president . Then there is the enlightenment view which emphasized liberty of conscience in religious matters and implied a minimum of state involvement with religion (Menendez). • 25. An Obligation On Self Care an obligation. Self care means balancing a concern for others with a concern for one s own well being... A similar view is held by Eileen Scully who believes that the challenge to be well is rooted in the sacramental promise of communion and baptism. As the Body of Christ is called to completeness, so pastors are called to a new way of life which was fashioned, well ordered and blessed by God and acquired for us through our Lord Jesus Christ. Just as the church has come to express a theology of ordained ministry that is rooted in and serves the baptismal ministry shared by the whole church, so too, issues of clergy wellness cannot be seen in isolation from the wellness of the whole body. These points of view are echoed by G. Lloyd Rediger who believes that pastors are peculiarly unconcerned about their physical fitness and well being and make less provision for their agendas and time schedules. Their own self care is set aside in favor of other ministry requirements. These obligations intrude and take over the very essence of their beings. Rediger further inserts that there is a theological disconnect when pastors fail to model fitness for their congregation. Pastors have been guilt ridden to denying the body in order to enrich their spirits. Gary Thomas, author of Everybody Matters; Strengthening Your Body to Strengthen your Soul, says, Becoming spiritually and physically fit are two ways that we can grow in our inner and outer strength, as well as in our ... The Vocational Center exists to help residents of the mission create resumes, job search, prepare for interviews, and get the necessary identification that they need to get hired. The Vocational Center also provides various job readiness and certification classes. We provide Serve Safe, Retail Training, and forklift training, just to name a few. Each person that goes through one of the Vocational Center classes gets a certificate that they can add to their resume. The first theme that I noticed within the City Mission is power of hope. Employers or employees skeptical of the FMLA focused on current Department of Labor regulations for needless burdens upon employers. The Society for Human Resource Management had arguments regarding the truth and legitimacy of requested leave. With those arguments, there were changes in the policy and procedures of being an employee in a company revisiting regulations. There was also a concern that employment law had failed to account for changes through employers and did not provide enough protection to family life. • 30. The Depiction Of Zeus By Hesiod The Depiction of Zeus The mythological character and God, Zeus, is portrayed in many ways, by many different people. Hesiod describes Zeus as being relentless in his fury. When he gets mad he unleashes all of his power. If his brother Hades wasn t in charge of the Underworld, he d make all of Hell break loose. For example, in Hesiod s Theogony, which is about when Zeus defeated his father, Cronus, he says, Then Zeus did not hold back any longer, but now immediately his heart was filled with strength and he showed clearly all his force. (Morford and Lenardon 85) He tends to treat others, mortals and immortals, very unfairly. Two mortals could do the same exact type of sacrilege towards him, and depending on how he felt that day, he would take two very different approaches to how he would treat them. He also doesn t take any threats towards him very lightly at all. If anyone ever threatens him, he normally punishes them very severely, if he doesn t destroy them completely. Hesiod s approach to Zeus behavior is overdramatic, and makes it seem more extreme than it probably would ve been. In Hesiod s stories of the Ages of Creation, some of the humans were like gods, but those created in the Age of Bronze and the Age of Iron were terrible. They supposedly performed the painful and violent deeds of Ares. Those in the Iron Age were constantly given troubles by the gods, and they are randomly destroyed in the night. • 31. Ventricular Fibrillation And Its Effects On The Heart Ventricular fibrillation (VF) is a life threatening condition in which the signaling in the ventricles of the hearts is no longer coordinated. The loss of this coordinated signaling causes rapid, random and chaotic signaling leading to spasms of the ventricular walls. During VF, blood is not being circulated to the brains and the rest of the body and is therefore deprived of oxygen. This condition can be reversed by using a defibrillator, which sends an electric discharge of direct current to the victim (1). Improper signaling of electrical activity in the heart can also lead to a rapid heart rate. This type of tachycardia is called ventricular tachycardia (VT) and may lead to VF (Figure 1). Pulseless VT is also with defibrillation and VF and VT are both considered shockable heart rhythms (2,3). A large and increasing proportion of patients presents with non shockable rhythms in out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). These non shockable rhythms are pulseless electrical activity (PEA) and asystole. During PEA, a normal heart rhythm is observed on the electrocardiogram (ECG), but without cardiac output. Asystole is a condition without ventricular complexes. The heart muscles fail to contract due to the lack of cardiac electrical activity. Both PEA and asystole are treated with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) without defibrillation, combined with epinephrine administered intravenously (4). Non shockable rhythms are associated with high mortality. The survival rates of PEA ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Early History Of Islam THE EARLY HISTORY OF ISLAM Lily Grote HUM 2020: Introduction to the Humanities December 1st, 2015 The history of the Islamic religion begins in 610 C.E., with Muhammad ibn Abdallah, a merchant who every year during the month of Ramadan would retire to a cave on the summit of Mount Hira, just outside Mecca in the Arabian Hijaz, where he prayed, fasted and gave alms to the poor. This was a common practice for many Arabs in the peninsula. Muhammad was a merchant, a member of the tribe Quraysh which had become quite wealthy trading among bordering countries. The Quraysh were focused on accumulating more wealth but at the expense of the tribe s poorer family groups, known as clans. A spiritual restlessness had become apparent among many of the Arab countries, as they knew that Judaism and Christianity were more refined than the Arab s own pagan customs. Many Arabs began to believe that they were left out by al Lah (the High God of their pantheon, literally meaning the God ) because they were not sent a prophet or scripture such as Jesus, the Bible, or the Torah in that of the Christian and Jewish religions. Muhammad himself had most likely never heard of the Christian prophets. Oftentimes, the Jews and followers of Christ taunted the Arabs for not being a part of the divine plan. On the 17th day of Ramadan, 610 C.E., Muhammad awoke from his slumber by an overpowering presence that squeezed him so tightly that the word of a new Arab scripture fell from his ...
