This document summarizes a research paper that compares the thermodynamics and efficiency of electric and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cooking ranges. It finds that LPG stoves have a thermal efficiency of around 48%, while electric ranges have a higher efficiency between 74-77% due to better conversion of electrical energy into heat. The document proposes designing optimized electric cooking ranges that could provide even greater energy efficiency than current systems by utilizing electrical power already in homes rather than additional hydrocarbon fuels. Replacing LPG and other fuel-based cooking with optimized electric systems could reduce energy costs and dependency on hydrocarbon fuels for cooking.

Combined heat and power - optimal power flow based on thermodynamic model wit...IJECEIAES
Oil fields produce associated petroleum and wet gas, which can be mixed with commercial natural gas as fuel. Associated petroleum and wet gas are a low cost, low quality fuel, whereas commercial natural gas is the opposite. Two parameters are affected by this mixture: the fuel cost and the power – steam output of gas turbine – heat recovery steam generators. This research develops a Unit Commitment and Optimal Power Flow model based on Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming to optimize combined heat and power cost by considering the optimal mixture between associated petroleum - wet gas and commercial natural gas. A thermodynamic model is used to represent the performance of gas turbine – heat recovery steam generators when subjected to different fuel mixtures. The results show that the proposed model can optimize cost by determining the most efficient power – steam dispatch and optimal fuel mixture. Furthermore, the optimization model can analyse the trade-off between power system losses, steam demand and associated - wet gas utilization.

Overview on recent photovoltaic module cooling methods: advances PVT systems IJECEIAES
Renewable energy had been monopolized the research area in these past decade up till nowadays, due to its reliability and future in global production of electrical and thermal energy. Narrowing down the scope to the photovoltaic thermal (PVT) system, lots of improvements had been implied both theoretically and experimentally. One of the most attractive applications of PVT water or air-based collectors is building integrated photovoltaic thermal (BIPVT) system, which has undergone rapid developments in recent years. This review paper comprises the research findings on the improvements that had been integrated by PVT systems as well as well as personal and cited remarks on advancements on cooling techniques on PVT system.
GRE is an international company delivering carbon neutral, integrated solutions, for the production of sustainable renewable energy, from regional biomass.
Gussing Renewable Energy Asia is currently working on the application of its unique biomass gasification technology to plants at Daigo, Japan, and Nong Bua, Thailand.
The project in Thailand Began in 2010 with company formation and project assessment. The 250-million-baht project was a joint venture between GRE and Siam Cement Group (SCG), with research assistance from the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) has taken almost 8 years to complete.
The carbon-neutral waste gasification plant in Nong Bua built by Gussing Renewable Energy (GRE) recently began supplying power to the area in November, turning agricultural and forest waste from the local community to energy that could power about 3,000 homes.
The plant has an electrical output of one megawatt (MW) and a fuel capacity of 4MW, with an overall efficiency of around 75%. Some of the energy from the plant will be used for a 315-square-metre cold storage facility for farmers’ crops
The plant is technically carbon-neutral, as it accounts for the CO2 the biomass takes out of the atmosphere, which is then released after the final gas is burned as fuel. The system does not produce any waste water. The only byproduct is ash, which accounts for 2.5% of the mass put into the system, and can be reused as a soil conditioner in surrounding farms, or for cement.
In the future, the plant is expected to produce hydrogen and liquid kerosene that can be used in aeroplanes.
This is the first waste gasification plant built in Thailand.
he Nong Bua plant is essentially operating as a demonstration and test run for viability in other towns that wish to adopt the model.
Based on the success of the project, GRE and SCG hope to open 1-5MW plants in small towns with populations of 10,000-50,000 throughout Thailand, for a total capacity of about 1,000MW.

Design and Performance Analysis of a LCD Laboratory LanternYogeshIJTSRD
This paper presents the performance of a LCD laboratory lantern designed to combust varieties of biofuels. The burner was designed as a laboratory scale standard model for experimental purposes. The effect of biofuel atomization on the temperature and structure of flame in the near burner region of a multi fuel stabilised burner of a laboratory scale lantern was investigated experimentally with the help of a microcontroller made of pic 16F877. The laboratory scale lantern is of two litres capacity and was designed and constructed at the department of Mechanical Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University to be used for laboratory combustion analysis, such as flame stability, temperature, height etc with the help of microcontroller made of pic 16F877 which takes temperature reading between 0 150oC and content of flame in order to determine its structure. A 16 by 2 liquid crystal display was used to read out the values of the temperature read by the LM35. The LCD was interfaced to the microcontroller in a 4bit mode. The LM35 Temperature Sensor used in this design has Zero offset voltage, which means that the Output = 0V at 0 °C. The design of the fuel level detector unit was achieved using BC548 NPN transistor connected via collector to the microcontroller unit. The burner was designed to atomize and ignite a combination of gaseous, liquid and biofuels. Detailed fuel flow rate and flame temperature measurements were obtained by means of a regression model and a LM35 thermocouple. The measurements aim to provide additional understanding on the efficiency and combustion process interaction in laboratory scale burners which can lead to useful conclusions about the properties and structure of flames produced from different biofuels to ascertain their different areas of industrial applications. Energy Based Analysis of a Thermal Power Station for Energy Efficiency Improv...IJMER
Despite of growth of renewable energy stations installations like wind, solar, Tidal power, the energy for the world depends heavily on fossil fuels for electricity generation. It is also expected to continue the dependence on fossil fuels for next few decades. Therefore, given the continued reliance on the fossil fuels for some time, it is important to note these plants must reduce their environmental impact by operating fossil fuels more efficiently. Two types of analysis namely, energy and exergy analysis can be developed for the system. Energy analysis based on first law of thermodynamics cannot be applied as it cannot justify the real useful energy loss because it does not differentiate between the quality and quantity of energy within the system. Whereas, exergy analysis will characterize the work potential of a system based on the second law of thermodynamics and the maximum work that can be obtained from the system when its state is brought to the reference or dead state (standard atmospheric conditions). This technical paper presents the results of exergy and energy analysis carried out on 62 MW coal-based thermal power plant to evaluate the performance. The performance of the plant was estimated by a component-wise modeling followed by a system simulation. A parametric study is conducted for the thermal plant under various operating conditions, including different operating condenser pressures, temperatures and flow rates of cooling water across the condenser etc, in order to determine which parameter that maximizes plant performance. Energy loss distribution to find out the amount and source of irreversibilities generated in boiler and turbine in a plant so that any process in the system having largest energy destruction can be identified and that helps the designer to re design the system components.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
