This document outlines the agenda and content for a presentation on flipping the classroom. The presentation discusses:
1. Setting goals for flipping, such as flipping a whole class or individual lessons.
2. Strategies for creating instructional videos, including recording equipment, editing software, and tips for effective videos.
3. Engaging students by demonstrating the video process and providing accountability measures like checks for understanding.
4. Communicating the new approach to parents and involving them through blogs or social media.
5. Examples of how class time could be spent, such as discussions, hands-on activities, and projects instead of re-teaching content from videos.

Flipped classroom is an emerging pedagogical model in which the typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed. It blends education technology and activity learning to enhance students’ learning. We are among the pioneers in the School of Business to flip part of our course.
In this talk, we will share our experience of flipping four lessons in Semester I 2013/2014. In particular, we will answer some of the questions related to flipped classroom: Why flip the classroom? What should be flipped and what should not? How to make flipped classroom more efficient? What do students think about flipped classroom?
This is session was host by HCL Talentcare @SMW Bangalore.

The "Flipped Classroom" has been a hot topic in education circles. Come see how flipped learning done right answers the question "What's the best use of your class time?" Attendees will experience how flipping allows students of all age levels and subject areas to learn at their own pace while also making the teacher available when students need help the most.
As instructional technologists and integration specialists we are faced with the challenge of making trainings with our teachers meaningful and productive. Here are some lessons I learned from flipping my high school chemistry classes and applying those same principles to training teachers on edtech tools.
These are the slides for my Virtual EdTech Rally keynote address.

The Impact of Emotional Intelligence: Understanding Consumer BehaviorAshford University
Emotional decisions are made daily by consumers. The power and impact of emotion on the buying process is an emerging field.
Marketers must turn from the traditional marketing strategies based on cognitive abilities of the consumer to also include the role of emotions in the buying process.
A review of literature on consumer behavior (CB) and emotional intelligence (EI) is presented and a summary of a baseline study on consumer behavior and emotional intelligence is also presented.
Some think working remotely is a terrible setting that takes control away and let's employees stay at home and be useless. Others find that remote work increases overall productivity and lowers the need to micromanage.
And both sides might be correct as remote work, like all other structures, work really well for some and make others crazy.
The only thing that we can say for certain is that telecommuting is increasingly popular and there are problems you need to face to make it work.
With the explosion of the maker movement, schools are beginning to embrace creativity. However, what does this mean for assessment? Should we assess the creative process? Should we assess the finished product? Does assessing creativity actually make kids more risk-averse? In this workshop we explore what it means to assess both the creative process and the creative product without leading to risk aversion.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

10. Flippin’ Videos
Helpful tips to keep in mind:
▪ Chunk info into manageable
sections
▪ Add something interactive or
engaging
▪ Keep it short! Average 10 min.
▪ Speak clearly
▪ Make a script/notes for
students with
accomodations/ELL students
▪ Don’t worry if it’s not perfect!
▪ Start simple! You can get
fancy later
Non-Video flippers:
▪ Use your sources!
Make sure you watch
it first and make a quiz
or outline notes to go
with it
▪ You don’t always have
to assign videos- you
can give interactive
websites or
webquests. Keep it

12. Flippin’ Students
▪ Start the first day of class with a
demonstration- what do you expect from
your students?
▪ Decide how you will sell it.
– Ask students about lectures last year… boring?
– Show them a video about flipping and list
advantages
– Give an analogy
– No excuses! There are resources available at
school or at home
▪ Flash drive, DVD, ipod/ipod nano, library
computers before/after school, during ac lab,
lunch, homeroom…
13. Flippin’ Parents
▪ Send a letter home on the first day/
by email- include description and
advantages
– What will it look like in your classroom?
▪ Have a class blog/Instagram/Twitter-
keep kids interested and parents
involved!
14. Check Your Students
▪ Accountability- what will your students need
to do to prove they watched the video?
Will you make them prove it at all?
– WSK/KWL/Notes
▪ Assigned due dates- each video have a due
date? Due by end of unit?
▪ Homework v.s. Class time?
– Will you let students watch videos in class or make
them strictly homework?
– Have a system in place to make sure they have
watched video by assigned date.
15. Check Your Students
▪ Demonstrate in the classroom- modeling is
everything!
– Let a student “drive” the video on your
computer, and go at their pace.
– Use this as a lesson- did they go to fast?
Too slow? This is an advantage of viewing
videos on your own- you can go at your
own pace!
16. What Does Flippin’ Class Time
Look Like?
▪ IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT THE VIDEOS! What you do
IN class is the most important
▪ YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ASSIGN VIDEOS AS
HOMEWORK!! Dr. Lodge McCammon suggest you
show the videos as the first part of class.
▪ Hints:
– Best practices still apply!
– Chaos is okay!
– DO NOT RE-TEACH!
– Give up your control
– BE CONSISTENT!
– Stand your ground- commit!
17. Then What Do You Do With
Class Time?
Inquiry Based Activities!
▪ Alternative Assessments!
Labs and Hands-on Activities
Peer Instruction!
Class/Group/Individual
Projects!
Genius Hour!

19. Glance into a Flippin’ Science
Classroom
In a typical 80-minute day:
▪ Mrs. Horstmann’s Checklist
0:00-15:00= Warm-up/Bellringer-
▪ Used to check for HW completion, depth of knowledge
and check for understanding
15:00-25:00= Discussion over video material, comments
or concerns
DO NOT REVIEW THE WHOLE VIDEO!!!
Sticky notes, today’s notes, Google Forms…
If the whole class is struggling over a concept, teach more. If
just a few, work with them to the side during activity time
